but anyways its crazy how seto and kido are essentially doomed for obscurity cuz like theyre the last characters to receive backstories + their backstories are contained entirely in the novels, which is like, the least accessible kagepro media. and not just in terms of how difficult they are to buy (i think... im too lazy to research this. cuz like measuring that in diff parts of the world (like say US vs my country) is blehhh) but also in terms of like, how easy it is to go thru. cuz like surprise surprise a manga is leagues easier for a person to go thru than a novel. same for an anime. and not to mention that bc kagepro is a franchise that has strayed from the light of god, the novels, just like every other kgpr media, expects you to know other kgpr media in order for you to understand it. so yeah the novel is not just tough shit to get (legally), but its also tough shit to even understand. (and also getting it illegally isnt super easy either bc ppl these days are sadly straying away from the blessed art of piracy)

SETO AND KIDO! cuz all of their core character development + plot contributions are Novel-Exclusive. like they did not do jack shit in the manga. and the anime is hysterical to me bc it adapted the first 6 novels (first 5 cuz thats what was released at the time and some of novel 6 cuz i guess jin had figured tht plot point by then), but not the last 2 novels. AND ITS THESE LAST TWO NOVELS that have setokido development.... ohh it is a big joke. a sad joke. cuz most kgpr fans are not going out of their way to read the novels. so theyre not gonna learn the deal abt these characters in the manga, or in the anime. at least w the songs kido is a bit better off cuz she got never lost word with an awesome MV. anyway. sylvaneth time. I REALLY want to get the blades when they come out so i figured i should grab some kuroth hunters beforehand to get a little practice in. these models are gorgeous and ive gotten attached to the sylvs lore as ive poked around with it- i love how theyre protectors of nature in more of a 'parasitic wasp' way than a 'delicate forest dryad' way. the bug-based nastiness they can inflict is very appealing to me :p

still not sure what colour scheme to pick, theres so many good potential options... white birch, pink blossom, autumnal, charred, wintery... im spoiled for choice on these boys honestly

because of the kano flashback in the hourglass and other details like kuai's scar and stuff like that, the timeline is kinda fucked and im pretty sure this isnt the same timeline anymore BUT if it IS a direct continuation from botr SOMEHOW (I mean. the statue of Liu Kang "hero of all realms" has to be a call back to previous events for the first two movies), both quan chi and shinnok are still dead and that would explain why scorpion shows up out of the netherrealm dripped out of his mind like he is

Now I dont think that he rules the place, because 1) its never been a goal of his and its not in his ambition and 2) he hates the netherrealm, the only reason he stays there is because scorpion was made there so he feels thats where he belong

So while I dont think hes the ruler of the netherrealm now, I think he is more like... its apex predator. keep the demons and revenants shaking and crying when they hear the distant sound of rattling chains. plus knowing of the revenants invasion on earthrealm courtesy of kano on creative mode, I think scorpion is doing damage control at the source of it aka in the netherrealm

so while he is not the ruler because he doesnt keep the realm in order, he IS an important figure of the netherrealm by being the superwraith there, hence the badass new spawn-like look (and him wearing more black than yellow now) and how he appears to be even more powerful

anyway all of that to say that the ending is a reverse hades and persephone myth

Why is it that when I'm sick, finishing work late because a load of people didn't show up and ongoing work drama, stressed about my upcoming essay and still have a hour walk before I can get home, my dad is apparently kicking off and threatening to kick me out when I'm not even there??

#ace is a mess #+Extra #personal #apparently hes kicking off about the fact i 'chose to pay off my loan' which isnt true i didnt get any tuition loan this year so i have to #pay it out of pocket and unlike some students i absolutely will not be receiving any financial support to do so so im working to pay it off #and hes apparently fuming about it and is bringing up the fact i owe him money cus when i asked for a nee laptop for Christmas for uni #and repeatedly specified that i just wanted the cheapest most basic option possible and even found several under the budget for gifts #my dad decided to get a more expensive one with a bigger screen which is not what i asked for or needed!! a bigger screen makes it #ten times more cumbersome to take to class for notes and assignments and ive ended up still having to borrow uni laptops regardless all #cus hes got some ongoing issue about me having my own finances & not being financially dependent on him so he keeps making a point about it #hes so transparent that its all a fcking control thing as it has been since i chose what i wanted to do at college and he didnt approve #and i didnt change it and stuck with it regardless because my career plans have nothing to do with him honestly #btching that if i can afford to pay off my loans i can afford to pay him back which i cant! i cant afford my tuition thats why im staying #over summer to keep working so i can pay off my debt im not paying it off i never had it im in debt! and if i dont pay it i wont be able #to continue with uni whereas he technically still owes me 2k he can be fcking patient about his money which i knew this was gonna happen #when he kept insisting there might not be cheap options available despite me finding multiple 🙄 #you know i get asked a lot why ive ended up at unis so far north when im from the south and its like i had to get away being half a days #drive away is the only way for my parents to physically leave me alone theyll still hound my phone but thats what airplane mode is for
