i wanted to design a lovely outfit for ladybug and cat noir but did not know how to pose them... so as i was looking for some inspiration and a sailor moon pic came across me and this is how this drawing was born <3
This is the entry I submitted for the "Gabenath Book Club And Art Club" Discord server's banner event, with the theme 'Cooking and baking'! 💖
As you may know, I've been away from the Miraculous fandom for a while, now, and I hadn't drawn anything Gabenath all the way since 2021.
I had been thinking about coming back to the fandom for a while, because I miss this beautiful ship and everything that the fans have built around them, and the occasion to finally draw them again was presented to me when I read about this new banner contest. It was such a lovely, domestic theme, and I couldn't miss the chance! 🥰💕
And this afternoon I found out that my entry also won first place in the contest!! 🥳
I've been thinking about this for a while, but i think at its core, Miraculous is about grief, and what can happen if you don't reach out to the people around you for help to avoid letting it consume you. Gabriel has been horrible, yes. Nothing will undo what he's done (HOPEFULLY they aren't going in that direction), but his grief has turned into hatred. it is easier to hate, easier to be mad at external circumstances than to look at yourself. Gabriel is grieving, but he's abusing all of Paris in the process because he was given power, and that will never be okay. I hope whatever they do at the end of this season and beyond, they explore this.
I drew this two years ago, and then never submitted it before Jubilation came out. I like the art well enough but I definitely want to re-visit the concepts I had for this silly little crossover!
I don’t know what’s funnier right now. The Marichat haters getting butt-hurt over the love square reversal, or the fact that the creators have been watching the fandom implode and laughing to themselves.
