This is when the yin-yang representation that has been bubbling under the surface in the show starts to be made explicit visual symbolism. They show you Xena and Gabrielle sleeping on a bed designed as the yin-yang ☯️ symbol, visually depicting them as the human representation of yin-yang and each other’s balance in the theme of it.
Oddly enough, Gabrielle here looks feminine for taking up the masculine side of the symbol, and Xena here looks masculine for taking up the feminine side of the symbol. But then again, that’s just the nature of yin-yang. It is both all at once, and yet not so separately because both contain the seed of the other. That’s what makes it balanced.
These characters are literally The Tao. The Way.

Prayer
I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures. Simple in actions and in thoughts, you return to the source of being. Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are. Compassionate toward yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world.
- A great thanks to Stephen Mitchell’s translation of Lao Tzu’s Tao te Ching

Someone compared Sleep with the Tao
Someone compared Sleep with a chapter that is written in the Tao Te Ching. And I really like it and I just saw this on one of those strange sub-reddits and it was marked as trolling. I don't see it as such. Eckhart Tolle quotes the Tao all the time. Maybe I'm too much of a nerd?! XD Okay I am a giant nerd....
I'm keeping this in here. I need to be able to come back to this. I like it :) Dear strange....I understand and thank you for pushing me into a new direction.
It's probably just meant for me then.

The tao that can be told
is not the eternal Tao
The name that can be named
is not the eternal Name.
The unnamable is the eternally real.
Naming is the origin
of all particular things.
Free from desire, you realize the mystery.
Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations.
Yet mystery and manifestations
arise from the same source.
This source is called darkness.
Darkness within darkness.
The gateway to all understanding.

Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize nothing is lacking,
the whole world belongs to you.

道 (dō) “Way”, “Route”, “The Tao”
Tumblr media
This is the “-dō” in the Japanese martial arts of judo, kendo and aikido, as well as shodo (calligraphy), sado (tea ceremony) and many others. Loosely translated, it means “way”, “route”, “path” or “doctrine”.
Studying a Japanese art is considered similar to taking a journey up a mountain. The summit is the refinement of oneself, and there are many ways to do this. Even though the paths are different, the final destination is the same.
Of course, there are many ways in which to refine oneself.  Besides Japanese traditional arts, there are many paths to the top of the mountain. Whatever your activity or business, working at it is an opportunity to increase one’s skills and knowledge. Whatever we do is our own personal path and we can aim to live it fully.
The original of the artwork above is available from my Etsy site here.

LOA for Chronic Overthinkers
They said, "Live in your Inner World, not the 3D,"
So I lived in my Mind, the place I daydream; because I was afraid the dark, the night thorns closing the way
I say, see not with your Mind's Eye, but the Heart's Eye
And when you envision your Dream come true: picture the Scene in your Head traveling down into your Heart.
See it, but down there; and it becomes Feeling
And reflections will no longer fool you

Further thoughts on my “Final Report”
As I read from the list of books which may be useful in formulating such a report, the slow, distant drumbeat of a wise and familiar saying has come to the forefront of my noggin: From The Way of Life According to Laotzu: 56: Those who know do not tell Those who tell do not know These words have been transliterated and borrowed by many others. In opening the book (linked above) I was at the…
