Damn, Tang Xuan really went from being an obscure cryptid, "supposedly" famous and involved, to the main main character so quickly. No build up, just went from living off of scraps to him being the character we witness some (more) apocalyptic, end-is-nigh story line.

I have several posts on this and a glitter text gif but let me just say it again: Joan of Kent was born at the earliest in September 1326 and at the latest September 1328 (her birthday was on or shortly before Michaelmas, the year is unclear). In 1338, Joan could only have been 12 years old and quite possibly hadn't yet reached her 12th birthday when she married Holland. Holland was born in 1314 or 1315, i.e. he would have been around twice her age. No wonder her family was "hostile" to the marriage! That "powerful draw" Holland has would see him on a sex offenders registry.

Either Chadwick has aged Joan up like a tacky romance novelist loosely inspired by history, she didn’t bother to work out how old Joan actually was or she’s like “yeah totes fine nothing to see here Margaret Beaufort was the norm” when every serious medievalist will tell you that Margaret Beaufort was not the norm. Please. No more "preteen and early teenage girls could fall in true love with grown ass men in the Middle Ages and it's completely fine, nothing rapey about that."

Early Life;

Jason Valeriy Carver was born on April 17, 1969.

His mother, Violetta Rozaliya Carver, & his father, Joseph Ruvim Carver, met in Russia.

Both mother and father are Russian making Jason, unmistakably, Russian.

Jason grew up in Russia from birth until he was 4, where they then moved to America after two(2) years of trying.

Jason didn't speak English. He only knew basic words. The reason for this is that his parents simply spoke Russian at home. It was rare of when the spoke English.

Due to this, he just chose to..not talk. He didn't speak a word. He didn't understand anything the teacher was saying, he got in trouble a lot do to this.

When he was 6, he met Edward. Though he goes by Eddie. Refuses to go by his full name, and Jason respected it..though he never verbally said that. He still barely knew English. Only basic phrases that he sort of understood.

As you may know, Eddie eventually got him to speak. It was broken English but it was..it was words! Progress people..progress.

When Eddie officially met Jason's mother he understood that they were not from America, so he took it upon himself to teach Jason English. (This becomes ironic later.. you'll see why.)

He bonds with Eddie this way. His father doesn't like it but his mother thinks it's adorable. He doesn't let it go but he does back off a bit.

That summer, Jason and his parents went to California for vacation. He met a strange kid named William --though he goes by Billy-- at the beach. Jason wondered why so many people went by nicknames. He never learned Billy's last name.

Billy was a year older than Jason and taller, so Billy teased him a lot during summer. The two families went to the beach a lot together.

Then Jason had to go back. Jason never saw Billy again...or so he thought.

When the family left, they didn't immediately go back to Hawkins. They when to a aquarium on the way back. Jason loved the different fish. Though his favorite was the Blacktip Reef Shark. Thus, his hyperfixatation with Marine life began, never to leave.

He studied marine life during school and after school. His parents thought it was weird but let it go. At least he's finally interested in something!

He often bothered his father to buy him different things dealing with sharks and his father, though irritated, always bought it.

This continued. Then he hit..:

Middle School;

Jason was semi-popular in middle school, his looks giving him attention. He hit the jackpot when it came to physical features.

Middle school is when his features started to really show, puberty and everything. His eyes stayed that same pale blue, his hair got a bit darker; from blonde to dirty blonde. Though..his height stayed..the same. His mother slightly laughed when she realized. 'He got his height from my side of the family.' She said with a thick accent while giggling.

Jason and Eddie's friendship wavered. They didn't speak to each other much anymore. That, obviously, hurt Jason but he respected Eddie's space.

He met two people; Patrick and Chance. The became best friends and did everything together. One wasn't seen without the other two.

This trio then met Andy. Andy was the final piece of the puzzle. They became THE friend group of middle school. Always together, sleepovers every weekend. This, that, and the third. They did everything together.

They thought Jason's weird obsession with marine life was odd but adorable. They always bought his little things that reminded them of him. Especially Andy. Andy always bought Jason whatever he wanted.

Then...:

Highschool;

Freshman year wasn't bad. It started bad because his friendship with Eddie officially broke but it was whatever (It wasn't just 'whatever'. He cried for a week straight.)

Though, he did get together with a girl named Chrissy. She was an angel.

He still had Andy, Patrick, and Chance. Still a stong friend group. All gaining popularity. Especially Jason. Jason was good looking, this earned him a lot of attention.

He, along with the 'idiot' trio, tried out for the basketball team. They all got in, to their surprise.

Jason then met Steve. Steve was...

" Good job, Jason. "

He was...

" You're doing so good. "

Jason liked Steve, even though he was..kinda an asshole. He liked him.

Thoughout the year, Jason played better but often got distracted by Steve. Not the Steve was doing anything, he just sometimes...liked to stare at him and sometimes Steve stared back.

Jason had also gotten closer to his own friend group with the 'idiot' trio. It started off platonic but he fears that its getting less platonic as the days pass.

Patrick often comes to Jason's house at night just to 'spend time with his best friend'. Jason suspects that something is happening at home, but doesn't push it. They always ended up cuddling in Jason's bed.

Sophomore year hit, nothing exciting. He was just living life, ya'know? Though, his arguing with Eddie got worse. Eddie seemed to target him a lot.

The group seemed to be closer than ever but they didn't mind. They simply just shrugged it off as "We've been friends for a while, its normal." (Spoiler alert: IT WAS NOT NORMAL.)

Then that faithful Junior year..

Nothing exciting during the first few months..then Billy came. Jason thought the name sounded familiar but didn't really question it. He just though he was just tripping balls.

Billy overtook Hawkins high. Overtaking Steve's 'throne'.

Billy eventually got bored of messing with Steve and turned towards Jason. Billy alway thought Jason's name was familiar but didn't question such a thing.

Having Billy's attention was a curse and a blessing. Some days it was good some days Jason left school with a bloody nose.

Billy just thought Jason was..pretty. A pretty little thing to mess with. But he slowly..slowly got infatuated with him.

Billy and The 'Idiot' Trio™ hated each other. They all wanted Jason's attention. Billy often rubbed it in their face that.."Jason paid more attention to him these days."

This continued until school ended and summer break started.

Billy was starting to act weird. Like really weird...At least thats what Max told him. So he invited her and her friend group over to his house. His parents were gone for the summer anyway.

They, The Party, explained everything to him. From the day Will went missing to El's powers. El even demonstrated. Jason was in shock. So he joined them.

Though, he wasn't there when they trapped him. He was at the mall...with Steve, Dustin and Robin. He wanted to take a break, ok??

So he got wrapped up in the Scoop Troop. On this mission out of **no where**. Apparently there was this.. Russian broadcast?? He doesn't know. He overheard Dustin talking to Steve and like... interrupted when they were like 'But who can speak Russian?' and he yelled 'me!!'

So there he was, translating Russian for them. Flawlessly. They were surprised. Then he revealed that he wasn't American and his first language was..Russian.

Though the translation made no fucking sense. Steve found out that the people were in Hawkins and Robin cracked the code.

Then they got a little girl, Erica, involved because nobody could fit into the vents.

And yada yada you know what happened. Trapped, Robin and Steve caught, Drugged, blah blah. They escaped.. surprisingly. It was July 4th and they were fucking running from Russians. What the fuck.

The Russians got hit by a flying car, they looked up to see the rest of the group.

Then..shit happened. Huge moster absolutely destroyed the mall, Billy was apparently on the monsters side, He tried to kill El but El convinced him to stop. Jason was on the bottom floor when all of this was happening and he..he saw Billy damn near sacrifice himself so he uh..he intervened. He yelled at Joyce to hurry up and close the damn portal and just jumped into Billy, affectively hitting..both of them. Blood was everywhere.

Joyce closed the portal. Thankfully. The thing died, whatever that was. And uh Jason and Billy were on the brink of death. The monter took a portion of noth of their sides. They were bleeding out.

Jason looked over at Billy, Billy looked at Jason. The group was at their side panicking for obvious reasons. They just stared at each other. Before Jason spoke up;

"Hey..I always thought your name was familiar. I don't know. It still is." He coughed. Billy stared at him and asked, "Did you visit California when you were a kid?" Jason looked at him in surprise before choking out a laugh. "So thats why... it's good to die at your side, B." Jason sighed. Billy looked forward.

"Yeah..yeah I guess it is, Jayce."

They both blacked out. They didn't die. The paramedics got there before they could.

Both were in comas for months Max was always by Billy's side and The 'Idiot' Trio™ were always by Jason's.

Jason woke up before Billy, he took less damage. The 'Idiot' Trio were crying their eyes out when he did wake up. He was released late December. His parents were so happy when he got back home. His mother cried for days when they found out what happened. She wouldn't let go of Jason's bed even when she had to go home. Jason's father was also in distress but didn't really show it. They decided to stop visiting Jason so they wouldn't feel even worse.

Jason's mother cried when he got back and hugged him like he would disappear again if she let go. His father also hugged him tightly.

Jason went back to school early February, having to mentally and physically recover. This is how he learned from Licas that the Byers moved away.

Jason visited Billy every day along with Max.

His arguing with Eddie got even worse. Though, he was glad he graduated this year.

Cannon events happen lol (except..Vecna. He doesn't happen. 🚶🏽)

Chrissy breaks up with Jason after springbreak. Jason is relieved. Though, they act as though they are still together for Chrissy's sake until she can move out of her parents house.

Eddie and Jason talked things out and the arguing stopped, thankfully.

Graduation happened. Eddie and Jason took pictures together. Jason's mom was so proud of her baby.

That same graduation day, Jason went to go visit Billy and uh..Billy was very much awake. Just as Jason put his shit down. He turned back around to see Billy staring at him:

"When did you wake up!?" Jason exclaimed. Billy gave him a half assed smirk. "Worried for me, Carver?" He joked. Jason simply stared at him. "I woke up yesterday morning at 2 a.m." Billy answered.

"I see you graduated." Billy said, sleepily. Jason looked back and answered,

"Yeah... yeah I did."

Billy got out of the hospital mid June. The Byers were back due to the Lab kidnapping El, now Jane.

Everyone was..ok. Almost most seniors went to college. Jason didn't. He simply didn't want to. He, instead, took up modeling.

Everything was at peace. And Jason was ok with that.
