One thing that I've noticed about a lot of these heteros on these netflix shows (love is blind, the ultimatum, etc.) is that they all have a certain way of talking where they ask themselves a question and then answer it, rather than just saying the thing, for example, they will say shit like:

"Did I make a mistake? Yes, I made a mistake. Could I have been more clear? Yes. Do I regret it? Yes, I do. And am I sorry? Yes, I am."

Rather than just simply saying: "I made a mistake and could have been more clear, I regret it and I am sorry."

It's baffling to me. I do not get it it all. I find it oddly condescending and deeply irritating.

This was an A-Ha moment! I realized that she just described why I have never accepted anyone's marriage proposal.
