But in the end he makes her an offer to help with the witchcraft stuff. Damon has a soft spot for y/n and he gives her a forehead kiss and tells her to keep going becaude he is proud??
- lots of love, Daria
Pairing: Damon Salvatore x Fem!Reader
Summary: Damon’s being Damon.
Type: Fluff, arguing, humour, some protectiveness
Warning(s): None
Word Count: 1.1k
A/N: Yesss, thank you for the request!! I’m so happy you’re enjoying What We Knew—lotta cool stuff comin’. I had fun writing this and I hope you enjoy :)
Out of the two brothers, Damon was certainly the less hospitable host. Stefan—being Stefan—hadn’t any issue with Y/N taking up temp. residence at the Salvatore Boarding House. It was a boarding house afterall. Stefan himself suggested she stay there. Damon, however... Phew, his inhospitality could be considered comical if it weren’t for the guilt she felt just by being there. But, Y/N knew he was already going out of his way by letting her stay. Living in his home. Not to mention the countless little things he’d think of, prepare for and protect Y/N from. And it was in situations like these that she would remind herself he was her friend. No matter how ass of a host he was. Or, how much of an ass he just was,
“What the hell are you doing?!” He exclaimed in that funny tone,
“My homework, Damon!” She said, half-defensive half-panicked. Brows furrowed and arms crossed she watched Damon swoosh out of the living room and return just as fast, fire extinguisher in hand. He aimed the nozzle and put out the flames,
“God, homework doesn’t mean setting a heritage home on fire, Y/N,”
“I’m sorry, Damon, I wasn’t trying to,” she said, brows furrowed,
“You could have just waited,” His eyes widened slightly,
“You were gone for like half an hour!”
“I was in the kitchen,”
“Are you kidding?” She asked, tilting her head like she didn’t quite hear him. At that he sighed and rolled his eyes. Crossing his arms, he shrugged,
“What?”
“Damon, I only have so much time in my week,” she nearly scoffed, “those of you who had time offered to help me. You offered to support me during my only practice this week and you decided to leave me alone during said practice,” she said, and he rolled his eyes, “how am I in the wrong here?”
“I didn’t really think you’d need a babysitter every second of every day,” he nearly hissed and she scoffed at that,
“I ask again, are you kidding?” She crossed her arms, “you didn’t need to offer your help! That’s a decision you made. If you’re unable to commit to your two hour time slot why would you offer?” She shrugged but he said nothing, “hello?” but he just sighed and shook his head,
“Whatever,” he sighed, “there’s another curtain in the laundry room. I trust you don’t need a babysitter to get that,” he smiled tightly and she scowled, walking past him with her arms crossed. She stood in the front hall and looked left first, then right,
“Down here or upstairs?” She sighed, turning around to him,
“Have you ever seen linens in the downstairs laundry room, Y/N?” He asked sarcastically, tilting his head and at that Y/N furrowed her brows. Her upper lip tugged in disrelish,
“Stop being a dick,” she said, turning for the stairs. She scowled under her breath, rolling her eyes as she marched up the stairs. He could be such a condescending freak sometimes. She turned right, glancing over the bannister on her left. She saw him on a chair, pulling the curtain rod off. She looked forward once more as he turned back around and stepped off the chair. Stopping at the first double door, she could smell a nostalgic laundry cleaner. They’re laundry room was quite nice, old machines they’d only maintenance. They were from the 90’s surely, yet better than her new ones at home. It was a large room, the walls on the sides of the doors were lined with shelves. Only a few folded piles on them and, from the clothes she saw, it seemed one shelf was for Stefan and the other for Damon. She smiled for a moment, but caught her distraction. Damon was still being such a loser right now. She rolled her eyes and stepped into the room, finding a stack of three thick fabrics. The same red as the curtains–the only red fabric there large enough to be the curtain. On her tip-toes she reached for the top and carried the heavy curtain back down to Damon.

‘Can u come downstairs’
She looked at the text, narrowing her eyes.
‘Where’
‘Smaller living room’
And she stood from her bed. Summer dwindled, a certain breeze whistling through the old mansion. Wrapping a hoodie over her, she left the comfort of her given bedroom.
He stood by a window on the right of the fireplace, though he turned as soon as she entered. Vampires. She walked down the few steps, leaning against the railing,
“What’s up?” She asked,
“I’m sorry,” he said, quicker than Y/N imagined. Actually, if she really thought about it, she didn’t imagine him saying sorry at all. Her brows pulled together, and her back straightened slightly,
“You’re…”
“I’m sorry,” he said again and she turned her head to the other side, glancing away for a moment,
“Okay,” she nodded,
“What?”
“I don’t know,” she shrugged. She looked at him, chuckled, then looked away, “I’ve just never heard you say that before,” she shook her head,
“Y/N, come on, I’m trying to be sincere,” he rolled his eyes,
“Okay, okay,” she smiled, “I should let you speak, you were extremely rude, so,” she shrugged, and Damon snickered, glancing down for a moment as he stepped forward,
“Listen,” he said, stopping a few feet in front of her, “I offered to help because I wanted to help. I just…” he said, taking a step closer. She stood where she was, hoping he didn’t notice the small spike in her heartbeat, “I felt a bit conflicted when I realised that helping you practise meant you getting better,” he shrugged and her brows furrowed more,  “and, of course, getting better would mean becoming an asset and I…” He trailed off, glancing to the side. He sighed, shaking his head and looking down for a moment, “I don’t want you somewhere dangerous just because you have strength to do so,” he looked at her again and her face softened,
“And here I was thinking you imagined me weak,” she half-joked. He smiled with his smile, and reached for her delicate face. Hands under her mandible, he pressed a sweet kiss to her forehead, Y/N’s eyes fluttering closed as he did,
“You’re definitely not weak. And I promise to actually help you from now on because... That was impressive. In fact I'm proud. Despite how expensive that curtain was,” he narrowed his eyes, letting his hands fall to his sides. Y/N shook her head,
"Well, I'm sorry about the curtain,"
"We had a spare," he shrugged, linking his arm with Y/N’s, turning them back up the few steps, “yeah... Definitely not weak. Those curtains are extremely fire-resistant so you must’ve sparked a wild flame,” he shrugged and Y/N chuckled as they left the smaller living room.

It had been months since Elijah had seen the three intertwined circles on the middle of Y/N’s back that made up her soul mark. The first and only time he'd seen it, he'd been pulling a wooden bullet out from her back when she asked for his help. From the moment Elijah helped to remove the bullet, the mark haunted him.
Seeing her mark should have been a great thing. It should have brought him some peace and happiness to see her mark. That her mark matched the very one he had just below his left clavicle. A perfect pair that made sense for how close they had become as friends over the century. If anything, since seeing her mark he's been conflicted on his feelings.
Part of him wants and tries to be protective of her. His soulmate that had come into his life when he least expected it. The woman that had become his best friend over the century had been the one thing he never actively searched for. He now knew why she stepped into his life and never left. But it was the other part of him that caused him to fight daily with his feelings.
Y/N would be in danger because of him. She would soon become a target if even the slightest word had slipped about who his soulmate was. An endless cycle he'd force her into if an enemy ever came knocking. Threats and being captured for the sole purpose of being leveraged against him.
Not to mention if his brother had ever lost his temper with him. Klaus wasn't one to spare the women in Elijah's life before. What difference would it make this time? All it would take was one action that made Klaus feel the slightest ounce of betrayal and he'd take it out on her.
Elijah was willing to take on the devil himself if Y/N was in danger. He was reminded of it any time she recklessly put herself in harm's way. An argument he had with her plenty of times during their friendship, but held a deeper meaning as of recently.
He was also reminded daily how easily she could bend him to her will with a simple smile as she walked into the room. Or the occasional knowing look she'd give him when he or his siblings said something she didn't agree with that would almost instantly change his mind about the situation. Especially if she added in her details that would make it reckless on her part.
But no matter how many times that feeling of comfort and love started to grow for the woman he believed he could only care for platonically, he could never voice it. He could never bring himself to mention the details that he knew. And because he chose to keep it to himself, it began the yoyo effect of wanting to keep her at a distance and keep her close for his own sanity.
It hadn’t gone unnoticed by Y/N either. From the moment she offered him a night out to deal with the humans who had put the bullets into her back, she noticed something different. She noticed the way his demeanor changed around her. He grew worrisome over the smallest of things he never had before. And even fought with her longer over details of plans to help take down the threat the Mikaelsons had been faced with.
She found herself frustrated on the days that he brushed her off and all but ignored her. He had never once been cold to her in the time that she had known him. They had pushed each other’s buttons on occasion, but Elijah had never once pushed her away like he had been doing now. Every time he did, it hurt more than Y/N had ever expected it to.
They were close friends, she knew that. She knew there would always be moments that Elijah would pick his family over her. That there would be moments where he would keep his family safe and do anything he could to also keep her safe. She knew she was not the highest priority. But why did it feel like someone had staked her when he walked away from her when she felt she really needed him for a few moments?
That's when the thoughts of doubt had been planted in her head. Doubts that were formed and fueled to drive her insane for most of the night that made it almost impossible to sleep. What had she done to earn such coldness from someone that she was close with? Had she crossed a boundary that she had suddenly been unaware of?
The final straw that broke her had been moments ago when she offered to go with him to deal with the beginning of a threat. It was always something they had done together. A way to have Elijah’s calm and calculated approach and her glimmer of chaos that would always work out in their favor. But when he told her to stay behind, she could no longer keep anything at bay anymore.
The moment Elijah had told her to stay behind, her face fell at his words. And as he walked past her to leave his expression hadn’t changed. And as she turned to face him, she let it all out.
“What have I done?” She asked, causing him to stop in his tracks. “Have I wronged you in some way that makes you no longer want to be around me?”
Elijah heard the way her voice cracked towards the end. He had hoped that his actions wouldn’t hurt her. But here she was asking what she had done to him when in reality it had been him to do it. He turned to face her and shook his head slightly.
“No.” His voice was composed in comparison to hers. “You have done nothing at all.”
She shook her head as she crossed her arms. “I’ve known you for over a century, Elijah. I know well enough to know you are lying to me. If I’ve done nothing wrong there wouldn’t be this shift between us where it feels like you suddenly want nothing to do with me.”
“I assure you that if I had wanted nothing to do with you, you would not still be standing here.” It was as close to the truth he could go to without coming out right with it. “We are facing a potential threat that I feel as though I need to do this with my siblings. We have no idea what they are fully capable of and the last time I checked, you are not as indestructible as you believe.”
Elijah had no idea how this threat would continue to play in their lives. He had no idea what knowledge they planned to use against them in an attempt to try and take him and his family out. That was why Elijah wanted to do this without her. He wanted to make sure that she would remain safe.
He didn’t want to take Y/N with him with the possibility of allowing them to get an inkling that Y/N had now meant more to him than he let on. He didn’t want her in danger from something he didn’t fully understand. This was the part of him that was willing to do anything to protect her. He just had to slightly push her away in order to do so.
“That never stopped you before.” She noted as she took a step towards him. “I may not be an original, but I am still a whole lot older than a majority of the threats that walk into the city. I have proven myself over and over that I can handle my own. I’m even better by your side. But ever since you’ve seen my mark, it’s like you don’t want to be near me. All I want is the truth from you. Did I do something or did my mark tell you something that you haven’t told me?”
Elijah looked at the ground for a moment before looking back up to her. He could see the hurt in her eyes as she expressed everything. But he couldn’t bring himself to tell her even though every part of him wanted to. To bring some peace to her mind on his reasoning instead of making her feel as though she wasn’t wanted.
“I’m going to try to make this as clear as I can." His voice was still even, almost void of any emotion. "This threat is not to be taken lightly. While we do not have the full specifics on who they are or why they are here, I do know they have come close to harming the people I care about." His eyes met hers. "While our normal plan pairs perfectly with the riff raff we deal with, at this moment it does not. So no, you will not accompany me tonight. I need you here."
After taking in his words, all she could manage was a nod before he was gone from her sight. He didn’t even give her a chance to respond or fight him on what he was telling her. And it left Y/N feeling defeated.
Her mind still tried to make sense of the changes that had come over the last few months. Every push and pull that happened between the two being analyzed as if it had been some rather important document or experiment being worked on. She was trying to find something, anything, to show what caused Elijah’s sudden change. No matter how many ways she thought about it, it only came back to one starting point: the night Elijah saw her mark.
Had seeing it really thrown him off to not want to be near her like he had used to? Not showing them their marks had been a preference they decided on early in their friendships. If there was ever a day they felt comfortable in showing what it was, they would have. And that night, with a bullet in her back, it hadn’t mattered if Elijah had seen it or not.
She ran a hand along her face, trying to shake off the thoughts that had kept her pacing her room for hours after he had left. She no longer cared about the mark or who she may have possibly shared it with. Why did that change now that Elijah had seen it?
It made her wonder if he had seen the mark on someone else. If there was a possibility that he felt guilty in some way after seeing it. There had been plenty of enemies in his existence. At some point he could have easily come across it and not realized it until he saw it on her back.
Did it belong to someone who had betrayed him? Had he seen it on someone that he had taken their life out of necessity? Or had this person been a victim of the many spells he had endured?
Deep down she knew it was the fear of losing Elijah. Something she had thought about over the century and a half she had known him. Friendships can only last so long before one reason or another comes along. She knew plenty of people who had left her on the back burner after finding their soulmate, even during her human years.
She had grown used to having Elijah in her life. It would take her longer to find a memory that didn’t involve Elijah versus the ones with. Over the years she had become dependent on the fact that Elijah had always been there for her just as she was for him. He was a constant and part of her hated the thought of her ever losing that.
At the thought, Y/N had felt her heart sink. A simple thought putting everything into perspective to her. The idea may have been formed from past experiences, but it all made sense. Elijah must have found his soulmate. And if that was the case, she was sure this was the beginning of being put further back on the burner.
“Y/N?!” Rebekah’s panicked voice had broken her from her thoughts, causing her to move quickly to find Rebekah.
Upon reaching the courtyard, a gasp left her lips as she found Rebekah dragging a half standing Elijah towards the couch. The majority of his clothing had been covered in blood. Parts of the fabric had been torn in several places. It was as if Elijah had picked a battle he couldn’t win.
“What the hell happened?” Y/N asked as she moved to help get Elijah settled on the couch. Her eyes had still been taking him in, accessing his injuries.
“Witches.” Elijah breathed out as he tried to get a hold of reality. He had lost enough blood and his mind had been a distorted mess from the magic he had been subjected to.
“Everything had been going according to plan but whatever spell they used on him, it threw him off course.” Rebekah took the moment to leave the room to get items they needed to help Elijah for the time being until Freya could get back there. The moment she was back she continued. “The others are still there dealing with them.”
Seeing the items Rebekah had brought, Y/N reached for the towel that had been sitting in a bowl of water and began cleaning off the blood from Elijah’s face and neck. “I can understand the disorientation, but what the hell ripped into him?”
There was panic rising within Y/N. She hated that he had made her stay behind. She could have been there to help him in some way. Been there to help prevent him from being hurt as he was now.
"Between the spell and some of the wolves within the vicinity, he couldn't watch his back." Rebekah said as she picked up another towel and folded it before placing it on Elijah's forehead. Afterwards she began picking up little containers of what Y/N could only assume were herbs and salves that Freya had instructed her to use for the time being.
As Y/N ran the towel over his neck, Elijah lifted his hand to her hand, stilling her movements. It caused her to look up at him. His eyes had been looking over her face, before they settled on her eyes.
"You're safe." His voice was barely above a whisper.
She nodded her head. "I am safe. You made sure I was." She wasn't sure if that was what he needed to relax more as she attempted to help clean him. "Freya will be here soon."
With that, Elijah seemed to relax his hold and it allowed for her to continue wiping up the blood. So far it looked as though any of the injuries he sustained were healing. It may have been at a whole lot of a slower pace, but his wounds were healing. But the moment her hand moved to remove the shredded fabric stuck to his skin along his left shoulder and chest, his hand grabbed a hold of her wrist, not wanting her to continue.
"I need to make sure your wounds are healing Elijah." She said softly as she brought her eyes up to his once more. "Or to at least give me the peace of mind that this looks way worse than it is."
"For once let someone take care of you." Rebekah added and pulled his hand away from Y/N. It had been too easy to remove his hand. His strength is almost non-existent given what he'd been through.
Elijah hated that he couldn't get his mind to process the protest he wanted to give. He hated that he couldn't give a strong enough response to say he'd deal with it later. But the spell within his mind made it difficult to think clearly for more than a second or two at a time.
Elijah’s eyes never left Y/N’s face as she began to move the fabric away from his chest. He didn't care about the wounds he was facing. He didn't even care that Y/N and Rebekah were caring for him. It was what laid just under the layers of fabric she was removing, that had him worried.
Quickly dipping the towel into the bowl of water between her and Rebekah, Y/N brought it back up to his chest and began to rid him of the drying blood. There was a part of her that was relieved to not see some gaping wound that he was trying to prevent her from seeing.
That relief soon turned into curiosity as the blood was being wiped away. The beginning of Elijah's mark became clear as day. With each wipe of the towel the mark continued to grow. And as last of the reminisce of blood was removed from the mark, she all but dropped the towel.
Just below his left clavicle had been three intertwined circles. It ran horizontally across his skin in the exact same way it ran across the middle of her back. And for a moment she fought herself on reaching out just to run her fingers along the mark. A need to make sure it was really there.
Elijah had watched her the whole time. Even through his hazed mind he could see the way relief had flooded her eyes before her brows began to furrow. The curiosity in her eyes had been evident and there was nothing Elijah could do to fully protest in his current state. All he could do was watch her as she learned what he had months ago.
Her soulmate had been right there in front of her for over a century.
Her eyes snapped to him and Elijah could see several emotions flash through her eyes. He could see the way there was a sliver of excitement before hurt filled them as she tried to stop the tears from welling up.
"What is it?" Rebekah asked as she caught on that Y/N had stopped her movements.
Y/N shook her head slightly before looking away from Elijah. "Nothing worth noting." She said as she went back to wiping the blood.
She kept her eyes away from the mark and as best as she could from keeping them from looking up at Elijah. She could feel his eyes on her. But she refused to look his way.
All of her wild thoughts that had been going through her head earlier had only been partially right. She honestly never thought this was the case. And if she was being honest with herself, this felt worse.
He had found his soulmate like she thought.  But she hadn't expected it to be herself. Not with the way he had pulled himself away from her during the course of the last few months. Not with the way she felt that she was losing her best friend.
Elijah knew that he was her soulmate and he didn't tell her. There wasn't an excitement at knowing that the person they spent decades with had been the one person they both chose not to actively look for. Their life had been great just as it was. Until Elijah saw her mark.
She tried to stop the spiral of thoughts that began to form. It was already too late to try to spare her heart the pain it was currently feeling. No matter how hard she tried to focus on helping Rebekah take care of him, one single thought played in her mind on a constant loop.
He knew they were soulmates and he tried pushing her away.
The moment Freya came running into the courtyard with Klaus and Kol behind her, Y/N pulled herself slowly away from the side of the couch. It was a way to not only keep the now unwanted attention of her facial expressions away but to give the necessary space Freya would need.
When she moved a little too far for Elijah’s liking, his hand grabbed a hold of hers. This time his grip was tighter in comparison to earlier. He was getting better, stronger. The venom from the wolf bites was leaving his system while the spell kept a tight hold over him.
Y/N's eyes met his one more time. She could tell he was pleading with her to stay there with his eyes. Almost to say that once Freya helped him he'd explain everything to her. That he needed her to stay there.
There was something in her eyes that changed a moment after his words had pierced the air. “Would you tell me if you saw the mark on someone else?”
“Of course.” He said even though it had been a lie. He knew he wasn’t going to speak of the very mark that was on his chest.
Her heart ached at the sudden memory that filled her mind. She wanted to break down. She wanted to run to get fresh air. Do anything that would allow her to process the information she had been given in the last few minutes.
Freya came over and knelt down beside Elijah, giving Y/N the chance to pull her hand away from Elijah. She took several back as she tried to decide if she wanted to stay or leave the area. But a heartbeat later she was mumbling some excuse and left the courtyard.
It was only when she was safely behind the door of her room, she felt more clarity than she had downstairs. The wave of emotions she felt calmed in comparison.  While silent tears had begun falling, it hadn't felt like her world had come crashing to a halt as it had.
"For as many times as I've come here to hide away, there's never been another person here." Y/N said as she took in the stranger. "Might have to find a new one if this one is compromised."
"I can assure you, I've known about this place for a lot longer than you." The stranger looked towards her. "I may have been out of the city for some time, but I will know more about the history than you ever will.”
A laugh passed her lips causing a smile to form on his lips. “What if I told you I watched that town in the distance be built?”
His eyebrow raised slightly before he looked towards the town she had been speaking of. “I’d then ask if you knew what was out there before the town was built.”
“A small village.“ She responded.  “One that was destroyed just a few years after I was born. There are stories of a creature that roamed the woods that surrounded that village. A creature that was hunted but never killed.” She shrugged her shoulders before looking back towards the stranger. “Though I’d love to hear what you have that can top that.”
He laughed for a moment before he placed his hand out between them. “I’m Elijah. And I assure you, I can surpass any story you’ve been told about the area.”
“That’s a challenge I’m willing to take.” She said as she placed her hand in his. “I'm Y/N.”
That year Y/N needed to get away from the life she had found herself in after being a vampire for a few centuries already. The mountaintop just above the town she was born in had always been her go to place to reevaluate her life as a human and as a vampire. That night, Y/N had been debating on watching the sunrise for the last time.
But Elijah had been there to pull her thoughts away from the sunrise and into a life that she had now thrived in. Elijah had been there when she needed him the most. Her soulmate had been the one to pull her back from the edge and she never knew it until now.
Elijah had saved her that night. He saved her and it wasn't long after he paid off a witch to create a daylight ring for her. A friendship shouldn't be had just in the dark. Those had been his words as he held up the daylight ring for her to take a few minutes before sunrise a few weeks later.
Her heart picked up in pace as her mind continued to accept everything that happened. The details of their meeting to this current moment made sense from a soulmate perspective. No matter how many times the flashes of memories played through her mind, there was no changing the facts.
"What if I don't want to marry my soulmate?" A young Y/N asked as she kicked her shoe at the dirt.
Her mother's laugh filled the air. "You don't always have to marry your soulmate. Sometimes it depends on what best suits the both of you. Your soulmate can be a best friend or even a lover. Sometimes they're both." She knelt down to Y/N's height. "There's one thing I know though. Having them in your life in any form is a whole lot better than not having them in your life or losing them. So when you are able to meet the person that knows your soul without needing to try hard, fight as hard as you can. Fight with them, for them and alongside them as needed." She ran her hand along Y/N’s cheek. "I know this doesn't make a lot of sense right now, but I promise one day you'll understand. "
The sound of the knock on her door followed by the door slowly opening had pulled her out of her thoughts and memories. Without even looking she had already known it was Elijah. She quickly wiped at her cheeks before she turned towards the door.
The moment she had, Elijah could see that the whirlwind of emotions he saw earlier in her eyes had shifted. Even as her eyes welled up, he could see the hurt along with acceptance. And if he was being honest with himself, the acceptance is what scared him.
He took a few steps further into her room before he came to a stop. "What I've done was-"
"Cowardice?" She finished for him before he got the chance to even form the next word. It made him raise his brow. "Because whatever reasoning you have for not telling me was the worst decision you have ever made. And I know there have been plenty of questionable decisions you've made."
"I know I should have told you that night." He gave a slight nod. "For a brief moment I wanted to. But then I realized the danger you would be in because of me."
She had already begun shaking her head before he finished speaking. "Danger that I haven't already been in from just being close with you. Or to your siblings for that matter." She watched as he opened his mouth to speak but she quickly continued to stop him. "I know it's not the same. Putting it out there makes it more real and practically puts a target on both of us. I know what that target looks like. That just means we'll be better prepared for it."
She knew from experience how easy it was to use a soulmate as leverage. How easy it was to threaten them to get someone to bend to their will. There was a dark decade in Y/N's existence where she had once toyed with humans and their soulmates. A time where her humanity had been switched and she hadn't cared.
She knew the tricks that could be played. She knew how much damage someone could take before they snapped. The emotional torment that could be played on both parties to get the point across was something she lived for during that dark decade.
At least that was until her humanity had been forcefully switched on. She tormented herself afterwards on how she could carelessly manipulate people by using the one weakness they all had. It was part of the reason she found herself heading back to the mountaintop.
"If today has taught me anything it's that you were safer without me near." He watched as her eyebrow raised before he continued. "While having you by my side would have been beneficial for many reasons, I watched as my worst fear played through my mind because of a spell. A spell that provided sufficient reasons on why I was right on my decision to not say anything."
"A spell that was used to distract you.” She noted. It explained why he had seemed so relieved at seeing her safe. "And a fear that we could have worked out beforehand if you simply had told me. I spent the last several hours wondering how and when I had become the problem. Part of me knew that you had found your soulmate and that was why you were pushing me away. That maybe you were trying to distance yourself from me to make room for them." Her eyes began to well up. "I just never thought you'd be pushing me away because I am your soulmate."
Elijah shook his head slightly as guilt filled him. He could see in that moment how hurt she had been by it. The emotions she had displayed when he first came into the room broke down bit by bit. And the thought that she believed she was the problem stung him in ways he never believed it would.
"I don't know if I can be what you need me to be." He said a moment later. "It has been proven time and again that whenever I let an ounce of happiness into my life, it's quickly taken away. I refuse to have the same thing happen to you. And if that means keeping you at a distance or even you leaving the city-"
"Nothing has to change!" She cut him off as she shook her head. "We have been by each other's side for over a century without even knowing we were soulmates. We have been through hell and back together without even questioning how it was possible. I have fought by your side not caring if I died in the process." She wiped at her cheeks as more tears escaped. "I will continuously be by your side even after this. I don't care if it is as something more or keeping things as it has been. But don't you dare for one moment think that I would be safer with you pushing me away or even deciding that it's better without you in my life."
He sighed softly before taking a few steps to close the distance between them. "If anything were to ever happen to you because of me, I'd never be able to forgive myself." His hand came up to her cheek before using his thumb to wipe away more of her tears.
"It's going to happen with or without you in my life." Her eyes met his. "I am no stranger to being threatened by your family. I have had Klaus's hand on my heart and I'm still here in front of you." She placed her hand on top of his as she leaned into his touch slightly.  A way to prove that she was there. "I am not even a stranger to having a witch use me as leverage or even used to fight against you. I can leave tonight and what's to stop anyone from coming after me once it's actually figured out?" She watched as he took in her words. "This isn't just one sided either. I am afraid of what each new threat could mean for you. I want and need you to be safe, maybe even for my own selfish reasons. But I will not let you push me away without at least fighting to stay. I will continue to be by your side no matter how much you push. I will stand there by your side and face the enemy with you and die there with you if it comes to it. I will continue to be your friend or more if that is what you need and you'll never have to worry that I'll leave you. But I will not let you try and push me out of your life for the fear of what could possibly happen to me just because you're afraid to let yourself be happy."
Elijah's eyes never left hers as she spoke. He couldn't bring himself to look away from her. Not when he was seeing everything play through her eyes. Every emotion, every piece of history and hopeful future had been displayed within them. And he could no longer ignore what he'd been trying to avoid.
He knew everything she said was right. He would hate himself if anything happened to her while she was gone. He couldn’t even begin to imagine how it would feel if he ever learned the news that something had happened to her. He couldn't ignore the fact that throughout the years and even now she was fighting for her place to stay no matter how hard he tried to keep her at bay and safe in his eyes.
The same safety that he had been trying to provide her since the night they met. How broken her eyes had looked from the moment she took a seat next to him on that mountain top. And how everything within him had told him to protect her from anything. Even himself if it ever came to it.
But as he looked into her eyes now, he could see the woman that had become his best friend.  The woman that stood there beside him as threat after threat came. How she cared for him in his moments of need even though he fought her on it. The one person he couldn’t go more than a few days without speaking with. It was why the thought of losing her scared him even more than he ever believed.
After a moment, Elijah nodded his head. “I give you my word that I will not push you away or ask you to leave.” His thumb gently moved along her cheek. He watched as something changed within her eyes. “I don't believe I could actually watch you leave, let alone be alone out there in the world. Nor can I picture a day where you are not in my life in some form or another. You have your selfish reasons and I have mine. But I have never wished for you to look so hurt as you have today and I will spend as much time as needed to make up for it. ” He looked elsewhere for a moment before looking back at her. “I just don’t know how things will change from here.”
The part of Y/N’s heart that expected the worst had felt relief. Relief that he wasn’t going to continue to push her away. Relief that he was willing to accept that they were soulmates and that she wasn’t going to go down or leave without a fight. And if anything, there was a small tug of a smile at her lips at his words.
“We continue as friends, just as we have.” She offered. “If in the future things change, we’ll go from there.”
A hum of agreement passed his lips as he pulled his hand away from her. As he did, He maneuvered his hand to take a hold of her’s, finding comfort in just holding her hand within his. Her offer of nothing needing to change played in his ears.
There was something within him that agreed with that. Mixed within the agreement was the hope that things would change for the better. But for now this was a step in the right direction. A step that meant he wasn’t going to push her away as he had planned to. It was in a direction that he strongly believed he’d never lose her in the way that he feared.
“We’ll handle things as we always have.” He nodded his head, a small smile pulling at his lips.
“Together?” She asked as a small hopeful smile pulled at her lips.
She could joke about how they would work together as she always had in the past. She could have added in how reckless they could be. How the calm and chaosbetween them would keep things interesting. But at that moment, she only needed the confirmation that it would continually be them against everything else that came at them.
“Together.” He promised with no intention of ever breaking that promise. Even when the world learned of the mark they share, he’d keep his promise and keep each other close to their sides. As a friend, as a potential lover, but most importantly as soulmates that would never have to live without the other.

Y/N: *Smirks as well* "It's true. Just ask your brother or Elijah Mikaelson."

All the Things I Hate About You
Pairings: Elijah Mikaelson x Reader Word Count: 11.5k words Warnings: Swearing, torture, violence, kidnapping, enemies to lovers... A/N: This was actually really fun to write. I forgot I had this idea for months until I was looking through my wips and saw the planning completely finished. Anyway, here it is and I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
The bar is quite busy tonight. It's full of patrons talking and laughing and carrying on in classic New Orleans style. Nights like these are always nice, especially when it's between you and Klaus, this time with the added company of Marcel, as you bring the lip of your bourbon to your own, smiling around the glass.
You chuckle into the cup at one of Klaus’ quips, raising a finger at him and wiping your bottom lip. You're about to speak when your attention diverts to the door at the sound of a ringing bell.
Your face falls.
“Goddamn it,” you mutter, putting your hand down and wrapping it around your glass again.
Looking toward the source of your new frustration, Klaus can't help his chuckle. “Now, now, dove,” he bids, swirling the contents of his glass. “Do not let his intrusion sour your mood. I'm sure he has a good reason for being here. Don't you, big brother?”
You all look at the man in question as Elijah places his hand on the back of his brother's chair. He disregards you altogether, and somehow that's more frustrating than him showing up in the first place.
“Niklaus, we need to talk,” he says, turning his head toward him with a clenched jaw.
You whine, leaning forward and letting your head fall to the table with a dull thump. “But the night was just getting good.” Marcel laughs at you.
Amused, Klaus raises a brow. “About?”
Elijah finally spares you a sliver of attention as his eyes dart toward you, narrowed to slits. “Privately,” he insists.
Klaus rolls his eyes, uninterested and ready to shift his attention back to you. “We can talk about the eternal crisis of my soul’s redemption another day, Elijah. For now,” he looks at you, smirking devilishly, “we were just headed to this cute little place around the corner for a bite.”
You aren't a vampire, but you've never had an issue with encouraging his less-than-innocent activities. In fact, through the course of your friendship, Klaus has found that you enjoy indulging in vampiric lifestyles. He found that you lack a certain morality most humans tend to hold when it comes to the supernatural. It's one of his favorite things about you—you're not obsessed with saving his immortal soul.
But Elijah does not sympathize.
“I'm sure you've had plenty of ‘bites’ today,” he says, shooting you a glare.
Preening under his attention—however negative it may be—you continue. “Yeah, well, bite me. You're ruining the fun.”
His gaze unwavering, Elijah continues to glare. “Oh, I just might.”
You scoff, turning your body more towards him. “I'm not afraid of you.”
He's so used to being feared, but you've never feared him for a moment—it's another one of those things he hates about you.
He takes a step closer to you, and you have to tilt your head back to look up at him. You don't falter, even as he speaks. “I don't need you to be afraid in order to be lethal, sweetling.”
It's very derogative, the way he says it. All of his pet names toward you are. You're sure he thinks you hate it, but—of all his insults—it's one of your favorites.
Marcel and Klaus watch on, enjoying the scene as much as you as the both of you stare the other down. Your gazes are unwavering, a game of dominance which you have a clear disadvantage in—though that's never stopped you before.
“Uh-oh,” Marcel grins, bringing his glass to his lips. He chuckles as he glances at Klaus, who does the same. “It's gonna be a cat fight.”
But when nothing happens, and you continue to stare, Klaus sighs as he lounges in his chair. “What is it that cannot wait, brother?”
It takes a moment for him to finally respond, to tear his eyes away from you and look back at his little brother. “Supernatural business,” he says plainly.
“You mean supernatural drama,” Marcel corrects. “Spill.”
Raising a brow, Elijah's eyes, one again, fall back to you—as though he couldn't resist looking away for more than a moment. “You could probably ‘spill’ yourself, couldn't you?”
You sigh. “To be honest,” you stretch and turn back to your drink, “I'm just trying to get drunk, and your presence is unnervingly sobering.” You take a sip, your eyes still watching him as you do.
Taking every opportunity to spite you, he hums. “Good.”
Marcel refocuses. “What kind of drama?”
Again, Elijah turns away. “The kind that includes a vampire dead in the Quarter.”
You lift your chin, remembering as your lips form an “oh” and you return to your drink.
Marcel, ever annoyed by Mikaelson and Co. mischief, turns to you and Klaus with an immense amount of exhaustion. “You killed one of my guys?”
You raise your hands. “To be completely fair, he was just a tourist.”
“To be completely fair,” Elijah echoes, “he was visiting family, a group of residents here. Now they are threatening to break the peace.”
“That is…quite unfortunate,” Klaus sighs. He stands then, patting Elijah back in a chummy way. “However, I don't know how much I care. This place was becoming rather tedious anyway.”
Elijah is exhausted by all of this. “And I'm sure the same can be said for your human companion.”
You raise your hands in defense. “Don't look at me! He catcalled me, all I did was punch him really hard in the face.”
Klaus nods. “Yes, and I was the one to gut him and string up his corpse in a tree like a Christmas ornament.”
“Before I suggested that we leave him someplace not so out in the open,” you nod, “because humans tend to panic.”
Elijah clenches his jaw. “Of course.”
There are many reasons Elijah doesn't like you.
For one, you seem to have no care or respect for other people's lives. You're just as bad as Niklaus, you may as well be slaughtering these people yourself.
Your encouragement in his brother's misdeeds, entirely contrary to Elijah's attempts at helping his brother, are so frustrating. It makes his job a lot harder when he's got this other voice in his head telling him that it's okay to snap his neck, as long as you put some nice beads and sunglasses on him so he looks cool.
Then there's your sass. You always have some sly comeback, another thing to add to conversation that doesn't need to be contributed.
If it didn't stop there, your eyes. You're always looking at him, always challenging him. You stare him down, your gaze unwavering. You watch his every move just to find something to pick apart.
And you're never scared of him. Never. You have no problem with talking back to this man. He could kill you in a moment, and you could do nothing to stop him. But you don't even consider that possibility, you're too busy being–
“Okay, I'm calling it a night,” Marcel stands, pulling Elijah from his obsessive thoughts. “I've got business to take care of. Thank you for that.” He says the last part to you and Klaus, dipping his head as a goodbye as he leaves. He pauses by Elijah, not meaning his words but—fuck, he's tired. “Couldn't have waited a few more hours?”
You groan, looking up at Klaus. “We don't have to go, do we?”
Klaus shrugs. “So long as you don't get hurt, I don't see why we should.”
You stand, taking one last sip from your drink as you smile. “Great.” You link arms with Klaus, patting Elijah's chest, even as he rolls his eyes. “Buh-bye now.”
Elijah turns as the two of you are leaving, his firm voice stopping the both of you as he continues to glare. “Niklaus,” he says. “We need to talk.”
Klaus lets go of your arm and walks back toward his brother. “You need a drink, my friend,” he suggests. He puts an arm on his shoulders and points toward a woman at the bar. She's sitting on her own, a finger tracing the lip of her glass. “I'm sure that lovely lady there would certainly be happy to help you.”
He pats his chest, smiling slyly. “Cheers.”
Klaus takes your arm again, and you wiggle your fingers in goodbye at Elijah. He huffs gently, shaking his head and deciding he may actually need a drink.
~
“Niklaus!”
You groan, laying your head on the table as Elijah's graining voice reverberates through the courtyard. You lay a hand over your head trying to ease the pain throbbing in the back of your skull.
“Could you be any louder?” you grumble, the pain too great to add the malice you intend.
Elijah comes to a stop, not bothering to look at you as his eyes scan the mezzanine. “It's your own fault,” he mutters.
“How charming,” you sigh. He's the brother meant to have manners. You lean your head up to look at him through the dark lenses of your glasses.
“Where is Niklaus?” he questions, finally looking down at you.
You shrug, massaging your temples to ease your migraine. “Probably eating some wayward college girls to spite you.”
He hums, fixing the collar of his sleeve. “Oh, are some of your friends in town?”
Despite the pain in your skull, you laugh, looking up at him. “I like this narrative in your head that the bad influence in this relationship is the helpless mortal rather than the immortal big bad wolf who is literally known for murder and mayhem.” You smile, giggling lightly. “It makes me sound like a mastermind.”
He looks toward you. “The only mastery you've achieved is in ruthless schemes against my sanity.”
“Oh,” you nod. “All good things then.”
Rather than answer you, he yells. “Niklaus!”
You're abusing your temples at this point as you try to ease the pain. “Fuck you,” you spit, resting your head down again.
He smirks. “I'm sure you would love to. Fortunately, I have more interesting things to take care of.”
You hum, your voice muffled by the table. “Dunno what your problem is.”
He's growing impatient at Klaus’ tardiness to his calls, but it seems eased at the prospect of taunting you. “I've got only a handful of issues, and your name  is plastered all over 98% of them. Ni-klaus!”
There are many reasons you don't like Elijah.
For one, he always seems to show up when you don't need him to. He's a buzz kill, a sour puss, and a pain in the ass.
And, for an Original, he seems to have a strange distaste for havoc. All you ever really wanted to do was have fun, and he never seemed to sympathize.
You grew up in this city, fully aware of the fact that it was crawling with the supernatural. You grew with it, and you grew into it, and now you hold ideals more aligned with that of the vampires of the Quarter, rather than the humans of the city, desensitized from death and pain and sorrow and indulging instead in the highs and adrenaline rushes of being freed from such moralities. You've never had an issue with that.
But for a woman who'd grown in the heart of the city he loved, Elijah seemed to hate your guts.
If that wasn't enough, his penchant for immaculacy drove you mad, there was no reason to find that much stress in being a little disorganized. Hell, your whole life was practically a disorganized mess, but he doesn't see you spiraling.
And his fucking face disgusted you. The way he watched you, so closely, tracking every movement. His eyes hardly left you, and when they did, it was simply to show you how little you were to him. But you just kept staring. He wanted you to be afraid of him, but you aren't. And you'll never be.
You want him to know that. You know it ticks him off.
Klaus comes to your rescue, but not without an infliction of his own as he arrives at the mezzanine. “Alright! Don't get your knickers in a twist. I'm here.” He sighs dramatically, rolling his eyes as he looks down at the both of you in the courtyard. “Now what are you so insistent on telling me?”
Elijah squares his jaw. “Walk with me.”
Klaus groans. “Must we?”
True to his fashion, rather than answer, Elijah simply turns and begins walking. As he disappears, you lift your head, pushing your sunglasses further up your nose. “Good luck with that one,” you mumble, pointing in Elijah's direction. You look after him as Klaus descends the steps. “He's especially pissy.”
Klaus comes next to you, pushing some hair behind your ear. “Do you have something to do with that?”
You smile a bit. “Don't I always?”
Klaus laughs, tapping the tip of your nose with his finger and laughing some more when you wipe it. He fishes a little bottle of Tylenol from his pocket and sets it in front of you as he makes his way toward the front, leaving you to your misery as you rest your head back down on the table.
You snatch the bottle, clutching it like golden treasure.
~
Your migraine is gone by the time they return. You've still got your sunglasses on the bridge of your nose, but it's more for fashion than it is comfort now. Your music is practically blasting through the courtyard, and the brothers walk in to see you dancing to “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys.
Why? Why not?
“Oh,” Elijah sighs, raising a brow and glancing away. “It dances.”
You turn, taking off the sunglasses and pausing your music. You point at him with the pair, “Aren't you supposed to be a feminist or something?”
Klaus laughs at your antics and simply brushes past you. You wave tauntingly at Elijah and follow Klaus up the steps as you both leave him by his lonesome.
“So what did you talk about?” you ask once he's out of sight. You weave your hand through his arm and smile up at him. “Was it little ole me?” You shoot him a charming grin.
He chuckles, “As always.”
He shrugs, continuing down the hall with you happily on his arm. You and Klaus have been joined at the hip since you met just a little after he moved back to the city. He's your best friend, as you are his. You adore this man, though many try to warn you of his danger.
But you like the danger. You practically live and breathe the supernatural. Whether you should be afraid or not, you aren't. It's in your veins as though you were one of them already.
“What about?” you hum.
“You and your terrible influence.” He turns into Hope's room, pushing the door open and walking further inside as he looks around.
“I'm just cool like that,” you say. Glancing around, you furrow your brow. “What are you doing?”
“Hayley called,” he says simply. He turns over a blanket to look underneath it. “Apparently she forgot one of Hope's favorite toys when she was last here. She refuses to take her nap without it, needs me to retrieve it for her.”
You walk toward the bed, picking up a powder pink pillow and seeing the little pastel blue bunny underneath it, its floppy ears lazy at the sides of its head.
“Isn't this it?”
You show it off to him, wiggling it to make its arms flop around. Klaus nods, taking the offered creature. “That, it is.”
He leans forward, lowering his voice to a whisper to avoid Elijah's prying ears. “Why don't you come with me, and we can ditch the police downstairs.”
You smile wide, whispering back at him. “I thought you'd never ask.”
He offers his hand. You take it.
The both of you take one of the many “secret” exits of the building, ditching Elijah in the courtyard to go have some real fun. He takes you to one of the back entrances, where it’s a little darker and you’re surrounded by brick. Klaus opens the gate and steps onto the street, and as you go behind him to cross the threshold–
“Well, what are you waiting for?”
You furrow your brow at the resistance that meets the toe of your shoe. Raising a hand, you reach forward…
“Klaus, I can't get out,” you say as you press it against air, and you press hard. But to no avail…
“What do you mean?” he asks.
You make a face ‘What do you think I mean?’ You slap your hand against the force again, and nothing. “There's something keeping me from leaving.”
Hoping your teasing, he reaches for your hand and is immediately stopped from doing so. “What the hell?” he mutters.
“You think it's trouble?”
Klaus sighs, exhaustion slipping into his tone. “When isn't it?”
A gush of air whips behind you and suddenly Elijah is at your side, facing his brother. “We're sealed in.”
You roll your eyes, “We kind of figured that out already.”
He furrows his brows at Klaus, raising a hand to the barrier. “You're not trapped?” he questions.
Klaus raises his hands and lets them drop at his sides. “As it seems.”
“Shit,” you whisper. You shake your head, turning to face both of them as you sink into your “something-is-wrong-how-do-we-fix-it” mode, well-versed in the world of Mikaelson drama by this point. “What do we do?”
Klaus retrieves his phone from his back pocket. “I'll figure something out. You stay here.” He turns to leave. You roll your eyes at his back.
“Don't have much of a choice.”
“Try not to kill each other before I get back,” he says as he leaves.
You groan, leaning against the barrier dramatically. “Don't leave me here!” He ignores you.
You sigh, grumbling as you turn to face Elijah. “Wonderful.”
“I'm not exactly thrilled myself.”
You turn to leave him, walking away back toward the courtyard where the stairs are. Elijah follows you, walking behind.
And as you reach the stairs, still he walks behind.
“You're following me,” you point out, glancing over your shoulder at him.
“I'm not following you.”
You pick up the pace up the stairs. “Yes, you are.” It's almost fun, the senseless bickering. Like children. If only it were that simple…
“We are going in the same direction,” he states, rolling his eyes when you keep looking over your shoulder at the top of the stairs.
“Go away!” you exclaim, disappearing into Klaus’ room. He continues walking, grumbling to himself as he carries on to his own.
Closing the door behind you, you're almost disappointed. But you remember that you don't like him. You aren't friends. He isn't going to humor you, and you won't humor him either.
You plop down on the bed, laying back with your arms sprawled out like a bird. You stare at the ceiling, trying to decide what to do trapped in the compound with naught to do but stare at the ceiling.
And you're bored.
You pull your phone out and tap on it, humming to yourself as you do. But that can only sustain you for so long. And you're right. Because it has been exactly five minutes since you closed Klaus’ door, and now you're standing in Elijah's doorway with your arms crossed over your chest.
He doesn't acknowledge you. He's perfectly content to sit there reading, paying you absolutely no mind.
But you can't have that.
“I'm bored.”
He hums, his finger tapping the top corner of his book. “Go do something.”
“I can't, wise guy,” you roll your eyes. You take a step farther into his room. “We're trapped here.”
He doesn't seem to care. “I'm occupied.”
For a moment, you wonder why he's so calm. If you're trapped in the compound, that means there's a witch involved. And if there's a witch involved, that likely means there's another dangerous issue that needs to be solved before someone gets hurt.
But then you remember. He's an Original. If there's an issue, let it come. It won't hurt him.
You look along the shelves in his room, lined with books and belongings. “I'm not,” you hum.
He rolls his eyes and sets his book down. “Why are you here?”
You shrug. You're bored, and you like messing with him. And that's what you tell him: “Because I'm bored, and I like messing with you.”
“You can't stand not being within my presence, is it?”
“Ew, gross!” you exclaim, feeling slightly giddy before you remember that you aren't friends and you, in fact, hate him as he does, you.
To distract yourself from the fondness in your chest, you take a small book off the shelf and toss it at him. He catches it with ease and sets it on the table next to him. Wordlessly, he shoots you a glare to tell you to stop. But you've finally been entertained.
To be fair, this was childish and unnecessary and you really shouldn't have done it. But you're stupid around Elijah, and you're childish and unnecessary because he entertains you and makes you upset and drives you crazy.
So you keep throwing things at him. First, another book. Then one of the expensive and, likely, old knick-knacks on his shelf. Then whatever goes in your hand because he keeps catching them like it's nothing.
“Leave me alone,” he says, his voice firm and final. But you don't listen to him. You never listen to him.
“I'm bored,” you tell him, bracing another book in your hands. If you knew he wouldn't catch it, you wouldn't throw it. “Do something funny.”
You toss it, he catches it. Like clockwork. “I am not here to occupy you. I am here because I have no other choice, as we are trapped. You said to go away. I left. And now you are here tormenting me.”
He's fed up, and you know he is. And it only excites you more. That means he'll react, he'll pay attention to you. He'll look at you. And you can look at him. You love the way he looks when he's frustrated.
“I am here to torment you,” you shrug. “Did you want another book, by the way? I think you might enjoy this one.”
You toss it. Like clockwork. “Stop.”
You should stop. A figurine leaves your hand.
“Stop,” harsher this time. “I will not tell you again.”
You smirk. “Do something about it.” The challenge leaves your lips just as the last book does.
He catches it, and then suddenly you're being pushed up against the wall, your wrists pinned at either side of your head in a tight grip that makes your fingers tingle. You wince as your head hits the brick, not hard enough to really hurt you but hard enough to sting as you bare your teeth.
Your eyes go wide as your gaze locks with his. He's furious, face inches from yours and eyes full of frustration.
For the very first time, you're afraid of Elijah Mikaelson.
“You are behaving like a child.” His voice is low and dangerous, his eyes are dark as they bore into your own, unflinching. But you flinch. Each little syllabus he stresses has you squinting your eyes and wanting to shrink away from him.
You truly understand now how someone like him can inspire so much fear in others.
“If you continue this nonsense, I assure you…” he leans even closer, his words caressing your face in a terrifying way, “I will put an end to it as quickly as it started.” You close your eyes and turn your face slightly away from him as you feel each letter in his words spell out on your cheek. “Do I make myself absolutely clear?”
Silence. Silence fills the air.
The only exception to the quiet suspense lingering in the space between the both of you are his steady breaths and your quivering ones. As you open your eyes and look at him again, you feel like he's stolen the air in the room and the adrenaline pumping through your veins is not out of the excitement of action, but the fear of actually being hurt.
Because he may actually intend on hurting you.
You definitely feel it in the tips of your fingers, going numb with his tightened grip. You feel it in the sting of the back of your skull after it met the brick of his bedroom wall. You feel it in the scrape of your skin against said brick. And as he's met with silence from you, you feel it in the clutch of his hands around your wrist, his thumb pressing into your pulse and forcing your fingers to curl.
You whimper. You actually whimper—a soft and nearly silent little slip of sound from your lips as you force them to part and whisper meekly to him.
“You're hurting me.”
The fog of frustration lifts from his eyes and he immediately seems to come to his senses. In the next second, he's let you go and take several steps away from you. His eyes are a tad bit wider, and his lips are parted.
He hadn't realized he was actually hurting you.
You wince, holding your wrists as you massage them. Elijah notices the way you actually sink into yourself, trying to play it down but so easy to read in his eyes, eyes that watch you at every point he gets.
“Ow,” you whisper. “Jesus.”
Your wrists really hurt. They'll probably bruise. You reach a hand to the back of your head, wincing once again when your fingers brush the tiny bump that may form there, but feel relieved when there is no blood.
You sigh, glancing up at him and taking a couple small steps back. You think you may be standing too close, even still.
Elijah watches you, swallowing thickly. He hurt you. He hurt you. He hurt you.
“I need a drink,” you mumble without the implied, ‘away from you’. Then you roll your eyes, “Oh, wait.”
You hate the feeling being pumped through your system right now. Fear. Fear or Elijah Mikaelson. A man you've never feared in your life. Even for a moment. Suddenly, you're terrified.
Because he may actually hurt you.
Elijah licks his bottom lip and looks down at his shoes. He takes a step back, and then makes a slow and straight path to a cupboard in his bedroom. He opens it, and pulls out a bottle of bourbon he kept hidden away there. In silence he pours two glasses and leaves yours on the edge of the table for you.
Tentatively, you take it.
It takes a moment for the word to form, afraid to vex him again, “...Thanks.”
He hums and says nothing else.
There's another long silence. You bring the glass to your lips and take a generous gulp, letting the alcohol burn down your throat and warm your chest. Elijah does the same.
He holds his glass in his hands, and for a moment you think he looks almost...shy.
He taps his glass, the sound filling the air between you. Without looking up at you, he takes in a gentle breath and speaks.
“Forgive me.”
You look at him. He meets your gaze slowly, making no attempt to step closer but offering all his sincerity. “I didn't mean to hurt you.”
You scoff lightly. “Your threat said otherwise.”
It's your own fault. You were being unnecessary, you were being stupid…
His voice, though firmer, doesn't betray the softness he'd utilized in his apology before. This is the gentlest you've ever experienced Elijah.
“I would not have hurt you to make you stop.”
“Wouldn't you?” you challenge lightly. You're afraid to provoke him some more.
But his reply is still just as firm. “No.” There's a gravity in his words that you don't have the capacity to dissect right now. “I would not.”
More silence. Longer silence.
You stare at him, taking in the sight of his face, which grows softer and softer as time goes on. Your fear slowly dwindles but it's still there, seemingly ever-present. You should apologize.
“You just…” you look down at the floor, “You just don't seem the type to feel bad about hurting me. You don't seem to like me very much.”
You don't want to sound as pathetic as you feel. Especially at the “don't seem to like me”. It feels so…childish, small, insignificant. You don't like me.
He shrugs, speaks matter-of-factly. “I don't. But I do not hate you, either.”
You scoff again, shaking your head lightly. You don't understand him…
Elijah sighs, moving slowly to take a seat again. He sits at the edge of his chair, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees and he cradles his glass in his hands. “As much as your penchant for wreaking havoc with my brother frustrates me… You do remain his friend.” And he doesn't have many of those.
You chuckle, shaking your head, feeling the conflicts of your emotions and turning it to disdain to make it easier on you.
“Is that why you keep me around?”
“What?”
“You want your baby brother to have a bestie?” You bring the cup to your lips but do not drink yet. “Otherwise I'd have already been dead in an alleyway or something?” You take a sip then, to hide the hurt you feel.
He shakes his head, staring at the contents of his cup. “You say that like I've always hated you.”
You raise a brow. “Haven't you?” You don't understand him.
He actually smiles, shaking his head. “You're so stubborn, aren't you?”
Without missing a beat, “It's my best quality.” You don't reciprocate his smile. As he watches you, his slowly fades anyway.
He looks down at your hands. They're shaking slightly. “You're hurt,” he frowns. “Let me help you.”
You take a step back, “I don't need your help.”
“Please.” He sounds small, non-confrontational. He doesn't sound like him, he sounds almost weak—almost like you.
You think about it, and then you take a breath of courage and relent. “No blood, though,” you mumble, trying to sound light-hearted and failing. You're still a bit shaken.
“God forbid you were healed,” he mumbles as he stands and makes your trade places with him as he sits you with the gentlest touches in his chair. He crouches in front of you and takes your hands in his own, frowning in an almost pained way at the cuts and scrapes that litter the lengths of your forearms. He did this.
Elijah stands, disappears, and reappears with a first-aid kit in his hands. He kneels in front of you once more, taking your hands and covering your skin in ointment and wrapping your wrists carefully with deft fingers.
Almost like he cares about you.
A warm feeling swells in your chest, but you stifle it before it can get too familiar, too comfortable. You take your hands back, holding your wrists gently as you rub your fingers over the bandages. You try not to be sentimental.
“Thanks,” you whisper, hating how weak you sound. You clear your throat and stand. He stands with you, moving slowly so as not to scare you. He doesn't want you to be afraid of him. You are never afraid of him.
“Sorry…” you clear your throat, “about the…throwing things. I overdid it.” You can't look him in the eyes. “It was childish—I'm childish, and I'm sorry.”
“Careful,” the slightest smirk teases his lips. “Someone may think we were actually friends.”
Friends.
“God forbid,” you joke weakly.
As has become natural…there is silence. You're not used to so much silence with him. It's usually filled with petty insults and shallow jabs at the others shortcomings.
You look up at him, into his eyes. It's easier to see him a little more clearly in the silence. You can take in more information, like the depths of his eyes, the gleam of them, the richness of his brown irises…
“I'm gonna…” you break the silence as gently as you can, “go keep myself busy.”
He doesn't stop you. He doesn't salvage the strange, silent truce with a sly remark, he doesn't scoff or roll his eyes or walk away. He takes a step to the side and allows you to pass, watching you leave with tentative steps as you stare at the floor to keep from looking back at him. You don't understand him. He doesn't understand you. But you think that maybe, in this silent moment, you understand each other more than you ever have since the moment you first met.
You leave his room. He stands there, watching the open door, unblinking but thinking a million thoughts. He hears your gentle steps descend the stairs. Elijah sits back down, looking at your glasses, both still half-full and forgotten. He sighs. He's stupid.
He hears you downstairs. The soft steps of your shoes against the floor, the scoot of a chair.
He'd never meant to hurt you. As much as he threatens, as much as he remarks, he'd never lay a finger on you with the actual intent of hurting you.
He sighs, turning to take the books you'd thrown in his hands to set back on the shelf. He thinks as he arranges them into their original order. He thinks as he places his knick-knacks in their rightful positions.
He listens to your heart beat, a steady rhythm in the back of his mind. A few moments pass, and there is complete stillness in the compound.
But just as quickly as it settled, it was disrupted once more.
He hears your heart pick up, a fast and unsteady beat against your ribcage that all too suddenly disappears.
It only takes a moment to check every room in the compound. It takes only one other to check them all twice.
But you're gone.
His phone is in his hand and ringing in no time. He paces, unsettled as he bids his brother to answer quickly.
The dial tone ends. Klaus’ voice comes through, “I've just got the little witch. I'm sure being alone with her isn't as excruciating as you claim, broth–”
“Niklaus. She's gone.”
A pause. “What do you mean ‘she's gone’?” His voice is low, menacing. He's ready to draw blood.
“Her heartbeat raced, and then it disappeared.” He looks around again, in case he missed something the first two times. He hates to say that he feels like he may begin panicking. “She isn't in the compound, and I am still trapped.”
He knows. He checked. Three times.
“We're coming.”
He hangs up. Elijah lets his hand drop to his side, running the other through his hair and sighing. He closes his eyes, takes a breath.
It'll be fine.
~
There's a terrible pain at the base of your skull, and you wince when you become conscious enough to feel the pounding of it. Your neck is sore, but it's held back by something rather than left to hang freely. Duct tape, wrapped tightly around your throat.
Your fingers tingle with a numbing sensation spreading up to your wrist. Your hands are tied down to a chair, your ankles are restrained to the legs, and your back is sore from the very uncomfortable position you've been put in. The sticky adhesive hurts your skin.
You're not going anywhere.
You blink quickly as you open your eyes, a bright light flashing in your face and blinding. It's hot and humid, each breath you take is thick and sluggish. You look around, taking in your surroundings to try and see if you know where you are.
The walls are rundown with mold and cracks. The floorboards are weak and creaky. The light directed into your face is your only source of light. The sun has set, and it's a new moon tonight.
A groan slips through your lips before you can stop it.
“She's awake,” a voice announces. A woman.
The floorboards groan under the weight of someone's steps. You look up (as if you have much of a choice), your eyes still adjusting, especially with the pain becoming background noise in your mind.
“I heard.” A man, whose voice isn't particularly strong. After spending so much time with the Originals, you're sure to know the difference.
You'll be fine.
You watch him take his phone from his back pocket, holding up to your face. The flash goes off, and you wince as the tiny click of his phone sounds.
You groan, thinking quickly as you take in a breath. “Wait,” you say. “You didn't get my good side. You gotta do it again.”
Your voice is thick with exhaustion and dehydration, but it doesn't deter you. Just because you're the one in restraints doesn't mean you're the weak one here.
He bends down, moving his face into the light. He doesn't look very intimidating, though he tries to be. In fact, he looks terrible—tired and upset.
“So you're the little human Klaus keeps around?” he hums. His lip curls slightly into a scowl, and he shakes his head. “You don't look like much.”
You smile, shrugging as best you can. “I don't need to.” You tilt your head, “I have an endless supply of charm to work with.”
“That's funny,” he says humorlessly. He turns to the woman sitting in the corner. “She's funny.”
You assume she's a witch. After the incident at the compound and now the apparent kidnapping, that assumption isn't too far off.
You nod. “I'm hilarious.”
“All the time?” he wonders.
“24/7.”
He makes a face, one to say he disagrees. He stands straight up again, walking around your chair. His knuckles rap against the back of it, and you roll your eyes. His tactics are amateur. Even the witch is bored, because she stands up and leaves.
“I personally don't think so.”
You furrow your brows, mocking sorrow. “Really? Why not? Wait,” you think for a moment. “I don't care.”
His hands fall on your shoulder, and you scowl. He's actually touching you. That's disgusting. If you could bite his hand or something, you would. But that currently isn't an option.
“There was one joke that wasn't very funny,” he says, bending down once more so you can see him.
“I always love feedback on my work. How'd it go?”
He smiles, but it's a sour thing on his face. “It went up in a tree, gutted like a fish and hanged. Like he was nothing.” Realization hits you. “You got my brother killed.”
So that's why you're here.
“Is that what this is about?” You shake your head, raising an uninterested brow. “Look, bud, all I did was punch him. Klaus killed him.”
He shrugs, “You definitely didn't stop him.” His words drip with a pain you can no longer empathize with.
“I didn't, no,” you tell him plainly, “because I didn't care and your brother was a jerk—and also Klaus is freakishly strong and I don't stand a chance.”
He's losing his patience. Now he's just pissed, and he's losing his power—what little he had to begin with anyway.
“Being a jerk isn't a fair enough reason to be slaughtered like that,” he argues. “Otherwise you'd already be dead.”
“So you're not going to kill me?” you ask. “Oh, that's a relief. I have a massage tomorrow at two. My shoulders have been killing me.”
“I think tense shoulders are the least of your worries right now.”
“I'm getting mixed signals here. Am I in danger or–”
“Shut up!” His hand wraps around your throat, tighter than the tape he has secured there as he pushes you up against the chair.
Adrenaline pumps through your veins, but it's well hidden as you watch him straight on. He's on the verge, you can tell. He might snap at any moment and it likely won't end well for you.
“You never stop talking, do you?” His voice is low and rough, his breath is thick with rage. “I don't know how anyone puts up with you and your constant blabbing, it's honestly pathetic.”
Your breath is thin but you won't let him have the last word. “Trust me, sweetheart,” you strain against his grip. “Nothing you say is really going to get under my skin. I've probably said it already.”
He leans in closer. You can feel his warm breath on your face, and you'd squirm if it wouldn't empower him. “You're a child.”
“I know. It keeps me young.”
He lets go of you, and before you can think of something else to say, the back of his hands smacks against your cheek. You grunt, your face whipping to the side as the tape cuts into your skin. It stings. He's very strong, and it shows in the dark stain arising in your cheek. You think his daylight ring clipped you because it really stings, and you think he may have drawn blood.
Your suspicions are validated when you see the veins in his eyes wriggling under his skin, his eyes darkening with the scent of your blood.
“Ah, shit!” you gasp, wanting to soothe the spot but being unable to. It really hurts. But you can't let him have the satisfaction. “I mean,” you catch your breath, “harder, Daddy.” You shake your head, wincing harshly. “God, that hurt, actually.”
He gets real close to your face again, but the pain of his smack makes it harder to show indifference. But it's not without trying. “You killed my brother,” he spits. “I'm going to hurt you really bad. And then…” he smiles, “I am going to kill you.”
Your breath is uneven, riled up with the anxiety of maybe not having the upper hand. If there's a witch, it means you're likely cloaked. The compound may still be sealed, so Elijah is still trapped—not that he would save you if he wasn't. Klaus, with all his power, may not be able to find you.
You might not get out of this alive.
Nevertheless. “You really shouldn't start with your big threat.” He turns away from you, annoyed. “There's no way to go from there.”
“I'm going to beat the shit out of you.
“See?” you ask, getting a little desperate now. Maybe you can distract him? “You already threatened my life. Anything else you say is significantly less impactful.”
“Shut up!” he shouts.
A gleam shines off a knife he pulls from his back pocket. Your eyes go wide with panic, and you try to react but there's nothing you can do. He raises it high, and in the next second, he's stabbed it into the meat of your thigh.
A scream tears from your throat. It's loud and rough and brings tears to your eyes as the pain rips through you like a fire. Your hands flex towards it, trying to soothe it in some way—any way—but to no avail.
He sneers, a dark chuckle leaving his throat. You watch his face change, his vampiric features creeping through again. “That's better.”
He pulls his phone out and snaps another picture. a wicked grin sneaks onto his face.
You're in full panic mode. You can't even attempt to be funny anymore, you've begin genuinely freaking out because there's a fucking knife in your leg.
“Okay, I'm sorry,” the words leave your mouth at the speed of light. “I'm sorry. I fucked up. I shouldn't have let Klaus do it. Granted, I can't really stop him when he's got murder on his mind, but I should have tried, and I didn't, and that's on me. I'm sorry. No, no, no, no, I'm sorr–!”
Another painful shout rips through you as he tears the knife from your leg. It bleeds, and it bleeds bad. Tears have begun pooling in your eyes, and dropping down your face and off your chin. Your screams stutter with sobs, and you gasp but there's too much air in your lungs to actually inhale each breath. The tape around your neck chokes you.
More flashes, more pictures
“You can scream as loud as you like, sweetheart. Your precious Mikaelsons are trapped in their house, and we're cloaked. No one's gonna find us until I'm done.”
Mikaelsons. Not Mikaelson. He thinks Klaus is trapped. If you can stall just long enough…
But your hope is running out and the blood is pooling. It's hard to think past the pain.
Klaus will save me. He always saves me.
This guy hates you and your jokes. He wants nothing more than to shut you up for good, but he isn't going to kill you unless he's broken you. He isn't going to take your life until your jokes have run dry and there's no more fun in stripping you of your depleted humor. If you want to live a little longer, you've got to keep them locked and loaded.
You just don't know how long you'll last.
“Well,” you stutter, whispering a confidence you don't have, “if I'm truly fucked, I guess I'm gonna have to use the rest of my good jokes on you.”
His hands wrap around your throat again. He squeezes, and your head feels hot and heavy. Every inch of your face tingles in a terrible way. Your lungs burn as the pressure builds. You flex your hands, you pull at the layers and layers of tape, you try to do something to get you out of here.
He watched you struggle, crude fingers digging into your pulse points. He watches the fight diminish to a dull scrape of your chair against the floor. When you begin to go limp and the life sinks from your eyes, he lets go.
You've never taken a deeper breath in your life.
Click.
A fit of coughs forces its way from your throat. It feels so good to breathe, a dull euphoria buzzing in the back of your brain against the horrible pain of your leg, but—fuck—you can't do it.
“Try speaking through that,” he huffs, satisfied with his method.
For a moment, you think, Maybe… Maybe I should just let him kill me and get it over with.
But Klaus would never forgive you, and if Elijah hadn't hated you before, he surely would then.
For the boys. Not for you. I'm doing this for the boys.
“C-Come clo–” You cough, the hoarseness of your throat too much to be coherent. “Closer.”
He relent, leaning down as his hands brace himself on your arms. It hurts as he transfers most of his weight on them, but you try not to wince.
“That was…” you take in a terrible breath, your voice is a squeak, “really hot.”
Apparently, he doesn't like your jokes.
Snatching up the tape, he presses it against your mouth in generous amounts to ensure not a single word comes out of you.
He picks up the knife, flipping it in his hands as he examines you. You pull weakly against your restraints—to no avail, of course—as he steps closer and closer. You mumble incoherently against your muffle. You try to say something, anything. You need to bargain, you need to joke, you need to do something.
“I'm going to enjoy this.”
The torture is too much. He slices and stabs and scrapes, his movements both swift and slow and ragged and clean. You scream, sob, choke, make all the noise you can. He cuts you in all the right ways, missing your major arteries to ensure you don't bleed out before he's finished with you.
You're lightheaded, and it's hard to see. The pain is so great, you're not even sure you're feeling all of it by this point. Your voice is so abused by your cries that they're hardly audible anymore.
Every time he lets up, taking your silence for defeat, you grant him a look with all the defiance you can muster and brace for the pain to come.
Klaus is going to owe you so much when he gets here.
If he gets here.
You don't know how much more you can take.
He takes a picture at every point. He's gotten so many photos on his phone by now. So many of you screaming and crying, so many of you hurting and so close to broken.
You don't want him to see them.
He grips the knife again. You feel another weak sob rising in your throat when suddenly–
He turns toward the door, his movements halting to listen. There was a rustle, leaves and twigs. Probably nothing…
“Witch!” he yells. No response. “Avaline!” Nothing. He grunts, shaking his head. His knuckles tighten around the knife. “She's gone.”
You mumble against the tape. He looks at you and relents. He rips the tape off, ensuring it hurts you. You cry a little.
“You gonna…” your mouth and your throat are dry, “go investigate that…suspicious noise?”
He smacks you. You make no sound. He looks over his shoulder. “It's just a possum,” he mumbles, not believing himself. “They're all over the place.”
There's another rustle, a possum. He turns to you, silent.
“What? No funny quip?”
You try to think of something, but you come up dry. You let your head lean forward, ignoring the way the tape strains on your throat. It takes so much strength to hold up your head, and you're tired. You're covered in blood and sweat and tears, and you just want to sleep.
When you remain silent, he smiles, triumphant. He checks the time, sighing almost regretfully.
Click. Click.
“Okay,” he says. “Time to wrap this up.”
He tightens his grip around the knife. You want to fight…but you've gotten nothing left. You think of Klaus, how pissed he'll be, the upset he'll feel when you're gone. You don't think of yourself as having a huge impact on others and their lives. You've always thought you were disposable, and you flitted through people's lives holding that ideal.
But Klaus. Klaus is the one person you know loves you, in his way. And when you're dead, he will raise hell. You want to smile at the idea, but it takes too much.
Elijah will be upset.
A choked sound catches in your throat when the knife slices through the flesh of your belly. It drives in, and you don't have the energy to scream. The satisfaction in his eyes beams.
I'm sorry.
He smiles, readjusting his hold on his knife. He goes to twist–
“Keep your filthy hands off of her.”
They move too fast for you to realize he's already pressed up against the wall, held by his neck by a curling hand intent on ripping out throats. A tiny blossom of hope swells in your chest.
You're too dizzy to pay attention to your hero, it's all so fuzzy.
“How did you get out?” he says, panicking as he claws at his attacker’s hand.
“You've got a poor witch.”
You know that voice. Don't you? Somewhere in your brain. He's familiar…
“Your brother killed mine,” he keeps trying. It's retribution. It's retribution. “I'm only repaying a debt.”
He gets close to his face, squeezing his throat even tighter as he begins to sputter and choke. His jaw is clenched, his eyes are black, his face is dangerous.
“So am I.”
A hand bursts through his chest, squeezing around his beating heart. And he holds it there, he ensures that this creature feels every last thing. His grip tightens, and tightens, and tightens, and he relishes in the feeling of his beating heart slowly failing.
He pulls it out, holding the useless organ in his palm with the same disgust he grants the man it belongs to. It falls to the ground with a splat, as does he.
Your savior steps into your line of sight, his dark eyes wide with intense emotion you can't quite place. And you would smile if you could find the will.
He came for you. Elijah.
His bloodied hand presses against the side of your face. You don't flinch, even as he takes hold of the tape and rips it apart like he's nothing. He takes care to remove it from your neck, and you slump forward with your newfound freedom. Your neck is so tight, it really hurts.
“Are you alright?” he asks, his eyes falling on the knife in your belly.
“Do I look alright…” you struggle to gasp, adding on the end so he doesn't worry too much. You don't want him to worry. “...Genius?”
He tries to look calm. He doesn't want to worry you. “Well, you're still funny, so you can't be hurt that badly.” That's a lie. You look terrible. There's blood everywhere. It takes every ounce of control he's got not to vamp out. He's never seen you worse.
“Fuck you.”
“Another time,” he says. You like jokes. He'll joke for you. “Breathe for me.”
You can't breathe. If you breathe, the knife moves, and it hurts so much. The gears are building so much, you can't even see his face. It's too late. You feel it coming. You tried.
He places his hand on the knife’s handle and begins to move. Before he can do anything, a scream tears from your throat with an energy you weren't aware you still possessed.
You begin to sob, a weak thing that slips from your throat and breaks his heart. He's never seen you so…broken. You were as strong and relentless as his brother, and now you're sobbing in his hands.
“No, don't,” you cry. “Don't, please.” You babble incoherently, in too much pain to properly pronounce your agony.
“I know,” he bids as softly as he can, “but it must come out so I can heal you.”
But your sobs overpower his gentle pleas. “It hurts. Elijah, it hurts so bad.”
He's getting choked up. He can't stand seeing you like this but he refuses to look away. “I know.”
“Please make it stop. Please.”
“I will,” he says, rolling up his sleeve. Biting into his wrist, he forces it to your lips as the blood rolls down his skin. “But you must drink.”
You refuse, sealing your lips shut and turning away from him. He doesn't have time for this—you don't have time for this. “You are in no position to refuse.”
It's getting harder and harder to breathe, to think straight. You can't think straight.
You shake your head weakly, slumping forward still as you feel your body giving out. “I don't want…” You lick your dry lips. “I'm not ready…”
He hears what you can't say. You're not ready to turn…
“You have to drink,” he tries, sounding as desperate not as he feels. His hand braces around the back of your head, he holds your dearly. “You must drink.”
You can't breathe. You try to inhale, but your breath is shallow and quick, fast pulls of air that don't reach your lungs before they're being forced out again. He says your name, pleading.
It's coming. You have to say it before it's too late.
“Elijah…”
He shakes his head. “Save your strength.”
No. You can do this. You can spend the last of your strength on this. “I never hated you…” your voice is barely above a whisper. It's choppy and slow, and you try to say everything you need to. “Just thought…” you try to clear your throat, you can taste the blood in the back of your throat, “just thought…” just a few more words, “...you hated…” you take in a weak breath struggling, “...me…”
His eyes are so full, so full of unshed tears and words he wants to say but cannot. “I don't,” he tries, keeping you awake for as long as you can, though you're fading quick. “But I can't prove it to you unless you live. Now drink.”
With all the strength you have left, you smile. It's a tiny, weak, painful little thing, but you do it for him. You don't want the last thing he knows of you to be petty insults or weak confessions of truth. You want him to know that you died with a real smile on your face, one you've wanted to give to him for a long time.
He calls your name, you don't respond as your drooping eyes begin to close. Your heart still beats, your pulse is weak but it still beats.
And he refuses to let you die. You will not die.
“If you won't save yourself, I will.”
~
Elijah flicks through the photos he'd found of that bastard’s phone. He looks at them all, one by one. He sees your eyes, so full of fear and pain and anger and hopelessness. Through each picture, he watches the resilience in your eyes fade until there's nothing but the emptiness of acceptance. He hates it, and he punishes himself with every single photo, refusing to forget that he almost lost you.
He hasn't shown Niklaus. And he doesn't intend to.
Your steady breaths are the only thing keeping him sane. If not for those, he would be losing his mind, pacing around the room and wanting nothing more than to punish someone for his shortcomings.
You almost died.
You should have died.
The rhythm of your breath is disrupted by a long inhale. He looks at you, watching your eyelids flicker and your brows furrow. A tiny hum arises from your throat.
Elijah crushes the phone in his palm. It crumbles to the floor.
You open your eyes, immediately blinded by the daylight peaking through the curtains. He moves his chair a little closer, giving you a small smile.
“Hey,” he says. Not ‘hello’, not ‘good afternoon’, not some smart and quick-witted comment. Just ‘hey’.
You grumble your response. Your body is heavy but not nearly as painful as you should feel. The memories of the night before flood into you before you can even see properly, but you know something is off before you can even react to them. You shouldn't be able to move right now.
“How are you feeling?” he asks gently.
You sit up slowly, rising onto your elbows and staying there. “Like there's no longer a knife in my gut.”
“Technically, it missed your gut. The luck you have astounds me.”
You hum and look around. “Where's Klaus?”
He sits back again, but not in any comfortable way. “Trying to locate the witch who got away.”
You're not surprised, though you'd hoped he would be at your side when you awoke. “So the normal murder and mayhem thing?”
He hums. “The normal murder and mayhem thing.”
You got to sit up some more, stopping when you feel the ache in your body keeping you from doing so. You grunt. “Well,” you sigh, “that answered my question.”
A gentle hand presses against your completely bandaged arm. “Sit back,” he commands softly. “I've healed your deep wounds but everything else is still very much in recovery.”
You state the obvious as you sit back against the headboard, not looking at him. “You used your blood.”
“I did,” he says, unashamed. “I'm so sorry to have saved your life.”
You glance away from him. “Yeah…”
You look around the room, thinking silently. You're alive. You're in his room in the compound, tucked in his covers, secured in bandages that you're sure he did himself, and you're alive.
It's confusing.
He could have been rid of you, but he's here healing your wounds and watching over you while you rest. He could have let you die and say he came too late, said good riddance and left you be, but he's here making sure you recover. He could have just healed you and left. You would wake on your own and come to terms on your own with the fact that you are still breathing air.
He could have let you turn. He could have let you turn and left you to deal with the life of a vampire on your own, not ready and completely lost.
But he didn't.
It's confusing.
“Why are you still here, anyway?” you ask, turning to him with a furrowed brow. “I'm fine, you don't have to stay.”
He clenches his jaw, sitting back. “You were under my protection, and I let you get hurt.” His voice is soft, but it holds a gravity foreign to you on his lips. “It's my fault this happened. I'm making sure it doesn't happen again.”
So he feels guilty.
“Elijah, I know the only reason you saved me is because of me being Klaus’ friend or whatever,” you hide how much it hurts to say it out loud, “but you really don't have to stay behind and watch my every move anymore.” You swallow thickly, “You can get back to your life.”
He scoffs. “I did not only save you because of your relationship with my brother.” He seems almost offended. “Has it ever occurred to you that I actually care?”
You answer honestly.
“Not really. Once or twice on a maybe.” He nearly winces. It actually hurts him to hear you speak so truthfully about it. Had he really been so terrible to you?
You almost died, and you would have died thinking he despised you. The thought makes him cold.
“We aren't friends, I know,” you whisper.
There's a long silence. You don't look at him, but he can't look away from you.
“Do you remember what you told me?” His voice is gentle.
“When?”
“Before you passed out.”
You sigh, looking down at your hands as you brush your finger over the large band-aid going across the back of your palm. Yes, you remember. You remember how hard it was to say, you remember feeling your heart gushing in your chest, you remember the dizzying sight of his saddened face.
“I said…I didn't hate you.” You breathe in, looking at him. “And I don't.”
He shrugs, as if that answers all your questions. “Neither do I.”
That makes no sense. Now more than ever, you need something to make sense. You want him to give you a straight answer, you want your heart to stop pounding, you want your head to stop hurting, and you just want to tell him the truth, rather than the sarcasm-coated taunts you've had prepared for him for years.
“I don't get this,” you groan, resting your face in your hands and ignoring the pain blossoming from the bruises.
You look at him, dropping your hands in your lap. “From day one, you've been glaring daggers at me, threatening me, proving constantly that you want nothing to do with me and that my life to you is petty and needless.” His lips part, but he says nothing. “Now you're healing my wounds and saving my life and telling me you don't hate me.”
You're still so vulnerable from the night before, your emotions are still so raw from the fresh wounds you'd accumulated and the desperate confessions you'd revealed. Your eyes burn with tears, glowing easily with all that practice last night. And it only frustrates you, because you're tired of crying. You're tired of feeling so vulnerable, especially in front of him.
“Telling me,” you sniffle, wiping at your face roughly, groaning at the pain but doing nothing to stop it, “you actually care about me.” You're so tired.
He's hurt you again. He can't seem to stop hurting you.
He sits forward, clasping his hands in front of himself. “Do you want to know why I treated you as I did?”
“Yes,” you nod definitely. “Yes, I do. As much as I'd love to deny it I really wanna fucking know why you're playing with me like this.”
You want the truth. So he'll give it to you. It's the only thing he can really give to you.
“Because I'm a stupid man who is unable to articulate my feelings.” You go silent ad he stares at you, his gaze unyielding and yet so comforting in the way he watches you. You love his eyes, always watching, always on you, even when you both pretended they weren't.
He speaks softly but with a sincerity you feel pulling in your chest. “I haven't felt the way I have for anyone the way I feel for you in hundreds of years. Do you know what happened the last time I did?” You don't answer him, knowing the answer. Always knowing the answer to that question. The life of an immortal, a painful existence. His voice nearly broke with unshed tears. “She died. She was taken from me, and she died.”
He looks away from you, collecting himself once more with a steadying breath. Slowly, he makes himself look at you again. You stare at him, eyes wide and…fond. He was so afraid to find fear there, ever since he first saw it in your eyes yesterday, he's been terrified of finding your gaze to be a horrified stare.
But you gaze.
It gives him the courage to continue on. “I don't want to feel that way again. I don't want to lose like that again.” He almost lost you. “I did it to protect myself, and you. It's just my luck you stayed. My luck you let yourself fight me, too. Because with every petty insult, every little name, my love for you grew, and I hated it because I was trying so hard to hate you.”
Silence. Complete silence.
You stare at him, eyes wide, brows pinched. He watches you with all the emotion brimming in his chest, and you have to take a long moment to yourself to think clearly.
You look down at your hands, your bottom lip trembling. You take a slow breath in, suddenly remembering to breathe as you cast your eyes upon him once more.
“You love me?”
He sighs, nodding, reaching out slowly and taking your hand. His are large and warm, and you could sit there holding his hand forever.
“Yes,” he says. “Yes, I love you.” This can't be real, surely. “I love you, and I'm sorry.”
Your breath shakes. He's sorry.
“I'm sorry, too,” you whisper, your voice weak but just as determined to tell him the truth: the cold, naked, selfish truth. “Because if I ever had to live without you, Elijah, I think I'd die.” You swallow thickly. “I'd rather spend my whole life pretending to hate you than spend the rest of it without you.”
You shake your head, squeezing his hand. “I love you so much it hurts.” You hate that you're crying again, especially when he is not.
But then you watch a lonely tear slip down his cheek, and you start to feel a little better. He laughs, a startled thing that takes him by surprise as he looks down at your hands. A laugh of your own bubbles out of your chest, you're perfectly content to sit there, holding hands and laughing. God, you love him.
His thumb brushes the back of your palm. A watery chuckle escapes you as you shake your head and roll your eyes. You wipe your tears away, sick of crying and wanting to take the victory with a smile instead of tears.
“God forbid we handle our feelings like adults, though, right?”
He nods, flicking his own away. “God forbid.”
You lick your lip briefly. “Please come here and kiss me.”
He wastes no time in covering the distance between you, wrapping a hand carefully around the back of your neck as he cradles your head. He pulls you in to meet halfway, his lips pressing up against yours. It's a perfect kiss, a perfect fit. One you had certainly not imagined a million times between insults and remarks.
You love him, you love him, you love him. And he loves you.
It feels so nice to finally tell the truth.
Because there are many things to love about Elijah Mikaelson, and there are many things to love about you. And you do. You love them through and through, finally finding solace in all the wrongs and not-quite-rights you'd lived with all these years.
“If we do this,” he says, pulling away from your lips but keeping his forehead pressed against yours, unable to pull apart from you after finally building that bridge, “your life will always be in danger.”
You smile. “Klaus Mikaelson is my best friend. My life is already in danger.” Your lips softly peck his own. “Might as well keep it up.”
A smile of his own tugs at his mouth and he pulls you in yet again, already so addicted to the taste of him. You love the way he loves you.
“Well, I suppose you're stuck with me now,” he sighs between kisses.
You chuckle lightly. You have no problem with that.
“Back at you.”
Klaus will have a field day when he finds out.

Bloody Mikaelson’s - Kol Mikaelson x Reader
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kol x Reader
Prompt: Kol is jealous about you being affectionate with everyone but him. He decides to tag along when you go shopping to try and get you to like him more. Fluff and confessions ensue!
Warning: Smut (?)
ENJOY!!
****
You sat down next to Niklaus on the sleek leather couch, phone in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. As you lent against him, his arm automatically wrapped around your shoulders. You and Klaus were best friends, the kinda of friends that spoon at night and talk about relationship problems. You sighed contently as you sipped your coffee. Despite his psychotic tendencies Niklaus was the biggest cuddle whore ever.
“What the hell! Why do you cuddle Nik like that and not me?” You heard a childish voice ask, looking up you see Kol stood there his arms opened wide like he was waiting for an explanation.
“Because little brother if she did, you’d try something extremely unrefined.” You heard Elijah’s sophisticated voice chuckle. You smiled when Elijah bent down and place a loving kiss on your forehead. To Elijah and Rebekah you were like a little sister.
“More so than you already do.” Nik added smirking to himself as he took a sip of your coffee that you hadn’t even realised he’d taken. You shot him a glare taking your coffee back before glancing up at Kol who was just glaring at everyone.
“Elijah gets to kiss you! Nik gets to cuddle you! What do I get!?” He growled angrily.
“A punch in the face if you carry on Kol.” You grunted as you went back to reading a post you had seen on Facebook. You heard a deep smooth chuckle from behind you resulting in you throwing you head back, hanging upside down to see Marcel stood directly in behind of you. Meaning your face was about 5 inches away from Marcel’s crotch. You stared at the fabric covering his jeans trying to see the shape.
“Are you finished staring at my crotch Y/N.” Marcel snorted making you tilt you head slightly.
“I’m trying to see if the myths about black guys is true.” You replied bluntly before sitting up and turning to Marcel kneeling up so you were looking into his eyes.
“It’s not always true but in Marcel’s case it is.” You heard a smug voice add, you looked behind Marcel to see Rebekah stood there with a smirk. She threw you a wink and walked over to sit with you.
“Jesus Bekah you got the full package huh? Voice that’s makes your panties wet, ripped as fuck, looks to die for and a big dick.” She laughed at your dreamy voice making you smirk.
“Y/N I adore you however if you could refrain from talking with my sister about her boyfriend’s genitals I would much appreciate it.” Elijah sighed shaking his head lightly as he continued to read.
“Sorry ‘Lijah, Nik.” You added knowing he was probably uncomfortable too. You scrolled through your Instagram liking a few picture along the way before you felt someone trying to shuffle there way between you and Klaus. You knew it was Kol straight away.
“Kol what are you doing?” You huffed making him stop moving as he settled down next to you. Earning himself a glare from Klaus.
“I’m coming to cuddle! I deserve affection too!” He exclaimed pairing his enthusiasm with a cheeky grin.
“Really Kol? I mean really?” You deadpanned making him shrug.
He wrapped his arm around you resulting in an eye roll on your part. You weren’t the closet with Kol, mainly because you never really spoke, not because you didn’t like each other. He irritated you and teased you but you knew it was all in good fun. You didn’t move away from his arm but you didn’t snuggle into him like you did Niklaus and sometimes Elijah. Elijah liked to cuddle on occasions, mainly when he was stressed. You continued scrolling through your Instagram, seeing a racy lingerie photo posted by one of the photographers you follow. You smiled and opened the comment box.
‘This is beautiful Jason.’ You commented on the photo before look at the picture again. It might be a lingerie photo but the way it was taken was art not sexual.
“Ooo I think you should do a photo like that and give it me for my birthday!” You heard Kol say from right next to you. You unwrapped his arm from you and moved to the opposite couch were Elijah was sat.
“Dammit come on Darling I was only joking!” Kol whined like a child who had just had his favorite toy taken from him. You didn’t respond instead picking up a pillow from the couch and throwing it at him. He caught it with ease and grinned very much resembling the Cheshire cat.
“Kol what did you do this time?” You heard a soft voice ask from behind you. You knew by the voice that it was Freya but you decided to drop Kol in it.
“He asked me for lingerie pictures for his birthday.” You pouted angrily as you looked at Freya with slight puppy dog eyes.
“Kol Mikaelson! That is no way to treat a lady!” Elijah and Freya shouted at the same time, I smiled at how much they were a like sometimes and turned to Kol who looked like he was ashamed in what he had just said.
“Sorry Y/N.” He muttered softly making you feel bad for ratting him out.
“It’s okay Kol. Anyway I’m going out today so I’ll see you guys later!” You hopped off the couch before you were stop by Niklaus.
“Where are you going?” Nik asked looking up from what he was doing.
“I’m going shopping. I realised I haven’t got much and I’ve been borrowing Rebekah’s clothes since I got here.” You smiled at him sweetly before leaning down and giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“Can I come with you?” You heard an unexpected voice ask. You looked over at Kol in surprise but nodded anyway because maybe it would do you some good to bond with Kol. After getting ready you met Kol in the courtyard, double checking you had your credit card and phone. Once you were sure you had them you nodded at Kol who offered you his arm. You smiled sweetly and took his arm gently before you both made your way out onto the bustling streets of New Orleans.
You stopped at the first shop and Kol had yet to let go of your arm which you found extremely endearing. As much as he was cheeky he was still a Mikaelson which meant he had to be at least 5% gentleman. You picked up a few different colored pairs of jeans, a few pairs of plain black leggings, some skirts and shorts before handing them to Kol who let go of your arm to help. You next went to get some plain vest tops, some crop tops and a few different types of blouses. You knew you and Bekah would most likely have a shopping spree soon so you only bought things you needs. Next you grabbed things like socks and tights, you tried to pay for them but Kol refused to let me and gave the woman his card. Kol took them bags from you and held them all in one hand before offering you his arm once again which made you grin threading your arm with his once again.
You laid your head on his bicep as you made your way to the nearest shoe shop. You strolled in with Kol and picked up a few different styles of heels and only 2 pairs of flats. One pair was running shoes and the other were a pair of sandals. You usually wore heels so you didn’t usually buy flats. They were only for when it was too hot and you couldn’t be bothered with the strain heels had on your feet. Once again Kol ignored your pleas to stop her paid for your shoes too. The last stop was a lingerie shop which made you snort slightly, remembering Kol’s teasing earlier. When you got inside you made your way to the simple 2 pieces sets. You looked the racks up and down before turning to Kol who unexpectedly looked quite uncomfortable.
You smiled reassuringly and quickly grabbed a few sets that you liked before making your way to the register, arm still linked with Kol’s. You set the stuff down smiling sweetly at the elderly woman behind the counter. Kol took out his card making me whine.
“Kol I can pay for them you don’t have to.” You sighed guiltily. He let out a chuckle grinning at you softly.
“I want to Darling.” He stated his pet name making you blush slightly.
“How long have you two been Married?” The little old lady asked as she accepted Kol’s card. You blushed further and was about to correct her but Kol nudge you and grinned.
“Not long.” Kol replied sweetly making you look at him with slightly widened eyes. After he retrieved the bags you made your way outside before you nudge him angrily.
“Why did you let her believe we were married?” You asked softly yet the hint of anger still evident in your voice.
“Because it’s not like we’re going to see her much and why spoil an old woman’s day by embarrassing her.” Kol stated with a small chuckle.
“So Mrs. Mikaelson how about we go get some food at the pub and then get all this stuff home?” He teased making you grin at his antics.
“Well if you insist Mr. Mikaelson.” You flirted. You grabbed some of the bags so you could intertwine your arms again which made him smile. After ate and laughed together you finally made it home Kol shouted at the top of his.
“Y/N and I got married while we were out.” He knew his voice would reach everyone in the house and soon Nik and Rebekah came running out with wide eyes which made you laugh so hard you had to lean into Kol for support.
“You did what!?” Rebekah screeched making me laugh even harder.
“Yeah it was great there was sexy lingerie.” He nodded happily you saw the game he was playing and you decided to play along.
“Heels too die for.” I added nodding my head seriously.
“The dress she bought was absolutely beautiful.” Kol sighed dreamily almost making me crack.
“I contemplated getting my hair done but decided there wasn’t much point.” I shrugged.
“Oh and then we had a meal and a glass of wine!” Koll finished.
“Tell me you’re joking!?” Rebekah screamed her voice reaching the higher pitched stage. You looked at Niklaus who looked at you with wide eyes.
“But…But I had everything planned in my head!” Rebekah yelled making me and Kol look at her confusedly.
“Planned? Planned for what?” You asked cautiously.
“Yours and Kol’s wedding! Duhh!” She huffed angrily.
“What!?” You and Kol screamed in unison!
“We were joking Bekah! An old woman thought we were married and we didn’t correct her.” You replied laughing awkwardly.
“Oh okay that’s good because I planned everything.” Rebekah stated more calmly this type.
“Rebekah, Kol and I aren’t even dating…Why would we get married?” You asked looking up at Kol who just shrugged at you with wide eyes.
“I’m a woman that’s been around for 1000 years and I know that Kol is very clea-”
“Okay!!! That’s enough of that! Why don’t we go put your new stuff away?” Kol screamed interrupting Rebekah, his cheeks slightly flushed.
You shrugged it off and decided to follow Kol with the bags you were holding. Once you got to your room you fell forward onto the bed after dropping the bags. Kol fell onto it next to you, his warm brown eyes staring into your Y/E/C ones. You smiled sweetly at him before he reached over and tuck some of your hair behind your ear. You closed your eyes enjoying the feeling of his rough hand against your soft flesh. His hand lingered for a while before he pulled back making you almost whine at the loss of contact. You had been alive for over 200 years but Kol’s touch wasn’t like anything you’d felt before. It was gentle and loving, it undoubtedly made your heart flutter. You opened your eyes to see him staring at you like he had a question on the tip of his tongue but he couldn’t find the courage to voice it. Which you found ironic since he was usually so sure of himself.
You smiled at him shyly knowing full well you had a blush covering your cheeks. His hand reached back out but this time it gently cupped your cheek. You nuzzled into his hands before looking back into his eyes. You had both somehow rolled onto your sides in a loose fetal position, knees touching slightly. His thumb circled you cheek gently before he spoke up.
“I really want to kiss you right now.” He whispered softly, looking into your eyes as he spoke. You didn’t respond just looked at him waiting for him to reach over. He sat up leaning on his elbow as he lent down and brushed his lips over yours. You reached between your bodies your hand gently gripping his t-shirt. You finally felt you lips meets and it was like you heart was beating so fast it would leap out of your chest, your stomach was going wild with the strength of the butterfly’s you were currently experiencing. After a few minutes of tender kisses he pulled away slowly. You sighed happily as his eyes met yours once again. He laid back down on his side.
“Y/N I think I’m in love with you.” His voice was timid and scared you would reject him but his confession only made you heart leap with happiness. When you didn’t say anything he started getting up which made you panic.
“Kol…” He turned round to look at you, sadness in his eyes.
“W-Will you please make love to me?” You asked timidly a blush bracing your face once again.
“I know I’m not in love with you yet but you make my heart beat louder than it ever should, when you kissed me I felt like everything disappeared so if you give me time I think I could fall in love you…If I haven’t already…” You whispered your eyes meeting his as he stared at you with the biggest grin you’ve ever seen him were but this time it was filled with love and hope.
He rushed over to you as you knelt at the end of the bed. His lips crushed against yours his emotions bursting out through the kiss. His hands cupped both your cheeks, your hands were gripping his t-shirt as he gently laid you down. He hovered over you, his body on top of yours but not uncomfortable. You gripped his biceps as you whimpered into the kiss, your heart was going a mile a minute. He broke the kiss only to trail soft kisses down your neck causing you to shiver. His hands slid to the hem of your shirt tugging it slightly he looked up at you as asking for permission, you nodded biting you lip which made him groaned.
You both sat up so he could pulled you top off tenderly. You tugged his top off and dropped it on the floor before taking your bra off and letting it join the pile of clothes by your bed. He gazed at you appreciatively before laying you back down. His lips were soon kissing slowly down your neck to you breast before taking one of your nipples into his mouth gently swirling his tongue while using his left hand to caress your thighs. You let out a soft moan as he moved to your other nipple showing it the same affection.
His hand finally made its way to the button on your jeans. He undid the button before pulling away for my breast, pulling down your jeans and plum coloured lace that was under your jeans. He let them poll on the floor before kissing your stomach softly, his hands sliding up your thighs. You gasped as his thumb found its way to your clit, his kiss slowly getting closer to your appending arousal. You hummed in appreciation as his thumb made small delicate circles on your clit.
His lips moved to your thigh before kissing up until it reached your sex. His breath brushed over your dripping heat before it finally made contact. It started of slow and seductive but soon turned so dominant and fast. You were a writhing mess of moans and panting as you felt you orgasm approach. His tongue dip inside you a few time before it continues its assault on your clit.
“K-Kol gonna cum..” You panted as you felt your end coming nearer with every move of his tongue.
“Let it go baby…I got you.” He whispered sweetly his finger slowly entering you, curling to reach your most treasure spot. He went back to kitten licks as his fingers did the rest of the work.
“F-Fuck Kol feels so good…” You whined. You were so close to the edge you would practically taste it. And finally you fell.
“M’ cumming Kol…Holy shit!” You moaned loudly you hand clutching the bed sheets as your back arched up, your mouth falling open in a silent scream of pleasure. Koll pulled back and stared at your with a small smile.
“Good you look beautiful when you cum.” He leaned over and kissed your forehead gently. You were still panting at he pulled back undoing his jeans. You reached over as soon as his member was free but he stopped you shaking his head making you frown.
“Not that I don’t want your hand or mouth wrapped round…It’s just I feel need to feel you right now.” That sentence should have sounded dirty but when Kol said it, it sounded like pure love. You nodded and opened your legs further, he slid in between them. You slid your arms round his neck embracing him like he was breakable. He kissed your lips tenderly and he lined himself up with your entrance. You were panting slightly, gripping onto him tightly. He slid himself into you at an agonizingly slow pace but you knew this wasn’t him fucking you. This was him showing you how much you mean to him and that was better than a quick fuck.
“F-Fuck!” He swore his head resting against the point where your shoulder and neck meets. His breathing was heavy and he was gripping the sheets tightly. You knew he was trying to control himself so you cupped his cheeks and brought him up so you were face to face. You stared into his eyes as if tell him ‘thank you’ and ‘you’re doing so well’. He gave you a shaky smile and began slowly thrusting into you. You gripped onto his shoulders as your breathing started getting heavier as well. He changed his angles so he could hit your g-spot which made you arch up and whimper at the amount of love and pleasure you were feeling all at once.
Once you collected yourself slightly. You move you both into a different position so you could be closer. Kol sat on the edge of the bed, his legs hanging off the bed. You were sat in his lap, your chest and forehead pressed against his as you continued to move your hips. You were thrusting forward instead of up and down so your clit was gently rubbing as his pubic bone with every thrust. You threw you head back letting out a moan, Kol’s lips going straight to you throat placing soft wet kisses on the hollow of your throat. You started to feel yourself building steadily, moaned husky moans and panting getting loud with each thrust.
“Y/N I’m c-close..” Kol panted against your throat making you shutter out a breath.
“Me t-too…Cum with me…” You stuttered before letting out another choked sob. Your pace got slightly fast as your orgasm was finally reaching its peak. You pulled back and look into Kol’s eyes, His left hand cupping you cheek and he stared at you with so many unspoken words. His brows were furrowed and his eyes kept trying to shut as he neared his end. One arm wrapped around his neck and the other placed on his chest.
“I’m c-cumming..” You whispered against his lips your panting loud and deep. He nodded letting you know he was too you gasped as you finally came, your walls clenching around Kol triggering his orgasm.
Once you had ridden out your orgasms, Kol picked you up with shaky legs and laid you on the bed carefully. He crawled under the covers with you and pulled you into his chest, kissing you hair lovingly.
“I love you Y/N and I’ll wait forever if it means you’ll love me back.” Kol’s stated his voice was quiet and spent after earlier activities.
“It won’t take as long as you think…” I muttered into his chest before placing a kiss on his chest bone.
BANG!!
“It’s about bloody time!” Rebekah screamed as she slammed to door open.
“For the love of all that is bloody holy! Rebekah get out!” Kol screamed making you jump slightly which made him look down at you.
“I’m sorry baby I didn’t mean to make you jump…” He muttered apologetically.
“It’s okay. Nik! Can you respectfully drag your lovely sister…who I adore…out of my bloody room!” You screamed only making Kol chuckle but also making sure everything was covered before Nik came in. Nik soon came in and pushed Rebekah out the room but turn to look at us.
“I’m happy for you both. Hurt her Kol and I’ll dagger you.” Niklaus threatened before leaving the room and closing the door on his way out.
Bloody Mikaelson’s.

Part Two
Old boots felt sturdy beneath your feet as you stepped out into the crisp morning air. A quick glance upstairs reassured you that he was still asleep before you quietly slid the glass door open. The wood pile, near the tree line, caught your eye, pristine snow covering the ground like a hushed blanket. Despite the bright sun, you felt a chill in only his shirt, but you planned on being quick about it. Determinedly, you moved across the yard, the snow forcing you to hop a little with each step, an awkward dance to reach your goal.
Arriving at your destination, you gathered a few logs, feeling their rough texture beneath your gloved hands. With determined steps, you made your way back to the cottage, each footfall leaving a small imprint in the snow. Your breath formed visible clouds in the chilly air, as you hopped your way to the door.
The idea of surprising him with a warm fire and a nice breakfast motivated you. Despite knowing little about him, you sensed his caring nature, the kind of person who always put others first. Today, you wanted to be the one to pamper him, to show your appreciation in a simple yet meaningful way.
Entering the cottage, you found him standing in the doorway, his expression a mix of amusement and curiosity. He stepped aside to let you in, observing as you kicked off the boots and tended to the fire.
"What are you doing?" he asked sweetly, his eyes following your movements.
"Sit," you commanded, pointing towards the dining table with a determined smile.
He complied, sitting down with a grin, his gaze lingering on your bare legs as you gracefully moved around. The sizzle of eggs in the frying pan filled the kitchen, mingling with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. You deftly flipped the eggs, the golden yolks shimmering in the morning light. Toast popped up from the toaster, perfectly golden brown. Setting the table, you placed a steaming cup of coffee in front of Elijah, his eyes lingering on you.
"You look beautiful in my shirt," he said, his voice warm with admiration, appreciating your effort and the sight before him.
A soft blush colored your cheeks as you sat down across from him. "Thank you," you replied, smiling shyly.
After the delicious breakfast, Elijah insisted on cleaning up, his swift movements making the task seem effortless. You offered to help, but he waved you off, his eyes softening as he glanced at you. You ignored his request and began to wipe down the counters. Then you felt his arms around your waist, turning you around, his lips meeting yours in a gentle kiss. Surprised, you wrapped your arms around his neck, the kiss deepening, and he lifted you onto the kitchen counter with ease.
"My beautiful wife," he murmured against your lips, his words filled with affection and desire.
In the midst of the passionate kiss, you noticed a change in him. His eyes, once warm and inviting, had turned pitch black with dark gray veins snaking around them. His vampire form peeked out, a glimpse of the powerful creature he truly was. Fear gripped you, and you pushed him away, your heart pounding in your chest.
He immediately stepped back, his expression filled with regret. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice laced with guilt. "I usually have perfect control, but with this unexpected and remote honeymoon... I haven't had any blood in days."
Your fear subsided into concern. "Is there anything I can do to help?" you asked hesitantly.
He shook his head, his eyes gentle. "No, I'll go into town to find some blood. It won't take long."
"You'll come back I hope," you say softly, anxiety gripping your chest. Only yesterday did you believe he would get rid of you as soon as possible, even after your night together that fear still gripped your heart. He was, after all, still a vampire, one night of great sex couldn't entirely erase your distrust of them.
Elijah gave you an unreadable look and stepped towards you. His hand reached out, cupping the back of your neck, pulling your lips to his in another kiss. His other hand traveled up your thigh, dipping below the shirt and between your legs. You gasp, whispering his name as your hands grab at his chest, his unexpected response to your question turning you on.
His dark eyes looked into yours as a finger found your clit, slowly teasing you, his touch igniting a fire within you. With a playful grin, he watched your cheeks flush, your eyes fluttering closed from the sensation. "What did I say last night about my vows," he whispered against your skin, kissing your neck as you let out a soft moan. "Say it,"
"You take your vows seriously," you replied, your voice barely above a breath, already wet for him.
"Mhmm," he murmured, pulling his hand away from you, his dark eyes full of desire. He played with the buttons of the shirt you were wearing, pressing his forehead against yours, he whispered. "I promise to return, and then I'll free you from this shirt."
Breathless, you watched as he prepared to depart, savoring another lingering kiss he pressed against your lips before stepping out the door. Your legs trembled slightly as you hopped off the counter, the anticipation of his return igniting filthy thoughts in your mind.
To distract yourself, you decided to unpack your belongings, only to discover that every item in your suitcase was brand new. Luxurious clothes, high-end toiletries, and exceptionally fancy lingerie. The notion of Klaus choosing the lingerie made you cringe, yet you couldn't help but appreciate the overall gesture.
An idea sparked in your mind, and you decided to slip into the extravagant lingerie beneath Elijah's shirt, hoping to surprise him upon his return. The prospect of his reaction added an extra layer of excitement to your anticipation.
You made your way back downstairs and came across another bottle of whiskey, taking occasional swigs as you perused the extensive record collection. You loved the owner's passion for 90s music, with an eclectic mix of grunge and R&B artists filling the shelves. You stumbled upon a mix record featuring various artists and decided to give it a spin.
As the music filled the room, you couldn't resist the urge to dance. Your thoughts drifted to Elijah, and you wondered about what music he enjoyed, making a mental note to ask him when he returned.
As the day stretched on, the alcohol began to take its toll, the room spinning slightly as you got a little drunk. Recognizing the need to be clear-headed for his return, you stashed the bottle away, determined to greet him with a sober mind.
That's when you noticed something strange, alarm washed over you as you observed unfamiliar footprints in the pristine snow outside the back door. Your eyes traced the tracks, and a gasp escaped your lips when you spotted a shadowy figure darting past the window. Fear surged through your veins and you reached for the fire poker, realizing with a sinking feeling that you didn't even have Elijah's number to call for help.
Panic gripped you as you caught sight of the intruder passing another window, their presence sending chills down your spine. With adrenaline fueling your movements, you sprinted upstairs, the sound of shattering glass echoing through the house, making you stumble.
In the upstairs hallway, you frantically scanned your surroundings, your thoughts racing a mile a minute. They were likely here to rob the place, and you needed a secure hiding spot. Your eyes fell on the bathroom, and without a second thought, you dashed inside. The bathroom seemed like a reasonable choice – nothing of substantial value was in there.
With trembling hands, you crouched down behind the shower curtain, clutching the fire poker tightly. The adrenaline pumping through your veins intensified every sensation, your heart pounding loudly in your chest. The fear was overwhelming, and you prayed that the intruders wouldn't find you, holding your breath as you waited in the darkness.
The moments felt like an eternity as you hid behind the shower curtain, your heartbeat drumming in your ears. But your sanctuary was short-lived. The intruders' footsteps thudded ominously up the stairs, their heavy breathing hinting at them being near.
The bathroom door swung open violently, revealing two figures in masks. They grabbed you with brutal force, tearing the fire poker from your grasp, and dragged you out of the bathroom by your hair, your cries of pain reverberating through the house.
You were downstairs on your knees with one of the intruders, the other one still upstairs collecting the valuables.
"Tell us the passcode to the safe, and we will let you go," said one of the masked men, brandishing the fire poker menacingly.
Fear gripped you, causing you to flinch as his harsh voice pierced the air. "I... I don't know, this isn't my house," you stammered, tears welling up in your eyes.
Meanwhile, the other intruder descended the stairs, hastily stuffing jewelry into his backpack. "It's fine, let's go," he urged.
"No, man, the good stuff is definitely in the safe, and I bet this little bitch knows how to open it," the man with the poker sneered, delivering a cruel kick that made you cry out in pain.
Clutching your side, you pleaded, "I don't, it's a rental, please," your voice laced with desperation, terrified that he might escalate the violence.
"I suggest you step away from my wife," Elijah's voice cut through the room, eerily calm and deadly. Relief flooded your senses upon seeing him, his expression dark and foreboding.
"Fuckin' rich guys," scoffed the masked man standing over you. "Always got a hot young wife and no sense," he spat, directing the poker threateningly at Elijah.
The other intruder seemed to sense the imminent danger, glancing nervously between his partner and the exit. "Let's just go," he said, fear tainting his voice. "The cops are probably on their way."
"They're not," Elijah said coldly, advancing towards you, his gaze fixed on your assailant. "I recommend you drop the poker and back away from her, I will not ask again."
The other man looked from Elijah to his partner and let out an exasperated sigh. "I'm out," he said, bolting for the door.
A small smirk curved Elijah's lips as he observed the man fleeing, before his cold eyes returned to the one still holding the poker. "Your friend has more sense," he remarked, his voice sharp and commanding.
"Tell me the passcode to the safe, and I'll let her go," the attacker retorted, delivering another vicious kick that made you gasp in pain.
Your eyes squeezed shut, bracing for another blow, but instead, you felt warm liquid splashing on your face and hands. Opening your eyes, you were met with a horrifying sight: Elijah stood before you, holding a human heart in his hand, his face splattered with blood.
A sharp gasp escaped your lips as you glanced at the lifeless body of your attacker on the floor beside you. In an instant, Elijah swept you up and carried you away from the gruesome scene, placing you gently on the kitchen counter.
"Stay here," he said, his tone deadly serious, before heading back to the living room. You sat there, your hands trembling, struggling to comprehend the violence that had just occurred. Elijah returned moments later, he was shockingly clean with no remnants of blood on him, you supposed he was a bit of an expert at covering up such things.
He approached you, his expression soft, a look of concern on his face. He carefully examined you, his eyes filled with regret and worry. "Are you hurt?" he asked gently, his hands hovering over your bruised and battered body.
"I... I think I'm okay," you managed to say, your voice barely a whisper, shock still coursing through your veins.
Elijah's touch was surprisingly gentle as he assessed your injuries, cleaning the blood from your face with a damp cloth. His hands were steady, a stark contrast to the chaos that had just unfolded in the living room. Despite the brutality of the situation, there was a tenderness in his actions that caught you off guard.
A tear rolled down your cheek as you voiced your heart's worry. "Why do you care for me, Elijah? I'm of no use to you."
He wiped away your tears and locked his gaze with yours. "You don't have to be useful to matter to someone," he whispered, his voice brimming with tenderness and affection. "Why do you care for me?" he asked in return. "My kind killed your family."
"It's pretty pathetic to say, but it's because you've been nice to me," you replied quietly, your gaze dropping to your trembling hands. "I haven't really experienced that with many people."
Elijah's thumb brushed away the last of your tears before he leaned in and gently pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was tender, filled with an unspoken promise of protection and affection.
As he pulled away, he chuckled softly, his eyes locking onto yours. With a playful grin, he helped you ease his now bloodied shirt off your body. "Well, this wasn't quite what I had in mind when I said I was going to free you from this shirt," he quipped, his voice carrying a mix of amusement and warmth.
You couldn't help but smile. "You freed me in other ways," you said sweetly, gently touching his cheek.
He gave you a soft smile, rinsing out the cloth and continuing to clean the blood off of you. "I don't remember you wearing this when I left this morning," he remarked, his gaze roaming over the lingerie you had put on.
"It was supposed to be a surprise," you chuckled, your cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
Elijah's gaze softened, his eyes lingering on you appreciatively. "Well, it certainly is a pleasant surprise," he said in a low voice.
Elijah's touch gentle as he inspected your bruises, his fingers tracing the sore area on your side. His eyes, though intense, held a mixture of concern and something more complex, something you couldn't quite decipher.
"You may have a broken rib. My blood can heal you if you want it," he said softly, his voice a soothing contrast to the pain you felt. His fingers lingered on your waist, his gaze locked onto yours with an unwavering intensity.
"I'd appreciate that, thank you," you replied, confused as to why he was looking at you this way, it reminded you of how he looked into your eyes the night before when he was fucking you. "Are you alright?" You asked, placing your hand over his heart.
He nodded and bit his wrist, holding it out to you. Pressing his bleeding wrist to your lips, the coppery taste filled your mouth as you drank his blood. In an instant, the pain in your body vanished, replaced by a strange warmth that spread from the inside out.
As you pulled away, feeling completely healed, he gave you a gentle smile, his eyes softening. With a tender gesture, he wiped the blood from your lips, then captured them in his own, giving you a gentle kiss. The intensity of his gaze persisted, as if he was trying to convey something important without words.
"Are you sure you are okay?" you asked, searching his eyes for answers.
He responded by picking you up off the counter and guiding you to the fire. The room was perfectly clean, no evidence of a man being eviscerated there less than an hour ago.
He grabbed blankets and pillows and assembled a makeshift bed, taking your hand and guiding you down to settle next to him. The heat of the fire seeping into your bones and calming your nerves. He was still giving you the strange look and you let out a quiet sigh of frustration, wishing he would open up.
"I really like you too," he confessed quietly, his gaze fixed on the dancing flames. The firelight reflected in his dark eyes as he turned to you, his expression vulnerable. "It doesn't happen very often."
You pressed a soft kiss to his cheek then moved between his legs, leaning into him, your back against his front. His strong arms held your waist, and he started placing tender kisses along your shoulder. You let out a soft hum, enjoying the feeling of his gentle touch.
"I can't believe I only met you yesterday," you whisper, letting out a quiet laugh of disbelief. "And now we are married and you just killed someone for me,"
He responded with a low murmur, continuing to trail kisses along your shoulder and neck.
"Have you ever been married before?" You ask quietly, watching the flames dance.
Elijah's lips continued their tender exploration of your skin, his warm breath soothing you. "No," he replied softly, his voice barely above a whisper, his lips brushing against your ear. "I've never been married before. You're my first."
"I find that hard to believe, you have lived for one thousand years," you remarked, letting out a deep sigh of contentment as you melted into his arms. "Not to mention you are charming as hell and smoking hot,"
Elijah's lips paused their exploration. "Most of my lovers throughout the centuries met unfortunate ends," he said, his tone heavy with the weight of his long existence. "Being immortal can be a curse in many ways."
A surge of empathy washed over you, and you gently turned in his arms to face him, your fingers tracing a soothing pattern on his chest. "I'm sorry to hear that," you said softly, your gaze meeting his.
He managed a faint smile, his eyes softening as he looked at you. "It's in the past now," he said, his fingers caressing your cheek tenderly. "And I'm glad you find me attractive, it would be tragic to be married against your will and also have your husband be ugly,"
"Well, you're far from ugly," you replied playfully, your fingers tracing along the contours of his strong jaw. You looked into his dark eyes, giving him a sweet smile. "Husband," you whisper, the word sounding foreign as you said it for the first time.
Elijah's lips curled into a genuine smile, his voice filled with warmth. "Wife," he replied. His hands reached down under your thighs and lifted you onto his lap, eliciting a giggle from you.
Your giggle suddenly turned into a soft moan as his hands opened your legs and he gently nibbled at your ear. "You look so lovely in this lingerie," he said in a low voice as he unhooked and removed your bra. His warm hands cupped your breasts, rubbing his thumbs over your nipples. You closed your eyes and leaned further into him, another soft moan escaping your lips.
You felt his satisfied smile against your neck as he continued to explore your body, reveling in the sounds you couldn't help but release. When you tried to turn to face him, he wrapped a strong arm around your waist and held you firmly in place. "I want you just like this," he whispered, his words going straight to your core.
His hands trailed down your front, your back pressed against his front, the base of your neck resting on his shoulder as his fingers slipped beneath your elegant lace thong. His fingertips delicately brushed your clit, evoking a moan from you as you bit your lip. He responded with a low, appreciative hum, setting a rhythm with slow, deliberate circles.
The heat from the fire in front of you intensified the sensations, and a glistening sheen of sweat adorned your skin. With two fingers, he entered you, creating soft, wet sounds that filled the air. You attempted to arch your back in pleasure, but his firm hold kept you in place. "Elijah," you moaned, your voice laden with desperation, urging him to continue.
"You like the way I touch you? You are making such pretty sounds," He asked in a low voice, the heat from the fireplace casting a sultry glow on your entwined bodies. Your moans grew louder as the pleasure built, each stroke of his fingers pushing you closer to the edge.
Finally, you couldn't hold back any longer, tightening around his fingers before letting go. Your legs shaking from the pleasure. Elijah held you close, working you through your orgasm, whispering sweet words of affection in your ear.
He pressed more soft kisses along your neck and shoulder, his lips warm and tender against your skin. "You're incredible," he murmured, his voice filled with adoration. "I've never felt this way with anyone before."
Your heart began to beat rapidly and you suddenly felt vulnerable. Your nerves got the better of you and you got to your feet, heading to the record collection on the other side of the room.
You began to browse, trying to pick out something he would enjoy. "What do you like?" You asked, looking back at him near the fire. He gave you a gentle smile, gazing over your nearly naked form.
"Whatever pleases you," he replied.
"No, I want to know what you like," you responded, your cheeks flushed from the confession. "I feel like we're doing this all backward—marriage, sex, and then getting to know each other."
Elijah's eyes softened, a hint of amusement in his gaze. "You have a point," he said, his tone thoughtful. "I appreciate your curiosity." He rose from the floor, his muscular frame moving gracefully as he approached you. "Let's see... they certainly have an affinity for the '90s," he remarked, his fingers delicately tracing over the album covers. After a moment of consideration, he selected a Nirvana album, the one with the iconic cover of the baby in the swimming pool.
You couldn't hide your surprise. "Nirvana?" you asked, a smile playing on your lips. "Didn't take you for a grunge fan."
"I'm a man with a variety of tastes," he teased, placing the record on the player. With precision, he moved the needle, and a song started to play with a gentle crackle.
You chuckled, your arms reaching up to wrap around his neck. "Drain You?" you said, laughing.
"What? It's a good song," he retorted with a teasing grin. Leaning down, he kissed you, pulling you into a lively dance right in front of the roaring fire.
With the music as your backdrop, you both moved to the frenetic rhythm. Your bodies swayed, jumped, and twirled in a chaotic yet exhilarating dance. You mouthed the lyrics at him, pointing dramatically, swaying your head back and forth. The wild energy of the music took hold of you, and your laughter filled the room as you let loose.
Lounge Act began playing and Elijah pulled you close, his hands on your hips moving you to the drum beat. "This is my favorite track," you said with a smile.
"I thought you might be a fan of this band," he teased, his swaying and dancing movements matching yours. He leaned in and kissed your neck as you danced.
"What is it about me that made you think that?" You asked teasingly, your hands roaming his shoulders and chest.
He smiled wide, his hands roaming down your curves. "You survived your terrible family, didn't succumb to their ideologies. That takes a rebellious spirit, that's what this album is all about and it's something I greatly admire about you," he confessed, his voice low and filled with genuine appreciation.
A soft chuckle escaped your lips as you continued to dance."Well, I guess we're both rebellious spirits then," you said playfully, your hand gently squeezing him through his pants.
He responded with a throaty groan, his fingers digging into your skin. "You certainly like to be in control as much as me," he observed, his dark eyes full of desire.
"No, I like you in control more. I've never had a lover do that before," you replied, your cheeks flushing from the confession.
"That's because they were just your lovers, I'm your husband," he said with a smile, twirling you gracefully before pulling you close again.
As the music filled the air with its raw energy, Elijah's commanding presence loomed over you, his eyes smoldering with desire. He pressed his lips against yours in a fierce kiss, his hands gripping your waist, pressing your body against his.
"This album and all this kissing... I feel like a teenager again," you admitted, your voice filled with both amusement and genuine delight.
Elijah's eyes softened, his fingers tracing patterns on your skin. "I feel the same way," he confessed. "Being with you, it's like rediscovering the thrill of falling in love for the first time."
Your eyes widen at his words, a wide smile on your face. "Love?" You ask, your cheeks flushing.
"Something like it," he responded, his lips finding yours again.
Suddenly, the moment was interrupted by the sound of your stomach loudly growling. You hadn't eaten since breakfast, and the sun was now setting, casting a warm glow through the windows. Elijah pulled away from the kiss and let out a chuckle, "I'll cook you dinner," he offered with a warm smile.
You nodded appreciatively and headed for a quick shower. After cleansing the day's adventures away, you slipped into a plain black dress, feeling refreshed and ready for the evening. When you descended the stairs, the Nirvana record had restarted, and the familiar tune of Lithium filled the air. Elijah was in the kitchen, preparing what appeared to be pasta. You sat on the counter, watching him with a soft smile, he stopped his prep momentarily to hand you a glass of wine.
You sipped happily on your wine as Elijah skillfully scraped garlic and chili flakes into a hot pan with some olive oil, letting the fragrant mixture simmer for a few minutes. "That smells amazing," you commented, your gaze fixed on him as he began chopping parsley.
A smile played on your lips as you reflected on the rapid transformation of your life. Just two days ago, you had been a nervous wreck, convinced your life was over. And now, here you were, watching your exceptionally attractive husband cook your dinner in a charming cottage, accompanied by one of your favorite albums and the finest wine you had ever tasted.
"My father used to play this album while he painted," you shared, observing as Elijah added the spaghetti to the oil. "I was only five when he died, but I've always remembered that."
Elijah stirred the pasta around in the hot oil with a smile. "You know, I actually saw them live back in the early nineties."
You couldn't help but express your envy. "I'm so incredibly jealous," you replied, your eyes glued to him as he mixed the parsley and lemon juice into the dish, then gave it another quick toss.
You enjoyed the sight of him working away in the kitchen, casually dressed in a dark button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up. "You are even hotter when you are cooking," you comment, giving him a shy smile. "I didn't think it was possible,"
Elijah couldn't hide the hint of a pleased smirk as he plated the pasta. "Well, I suppose it's safe to say I'm a man of many talents," he replied with a touch of playful arrogance.
You both sat down at the table, the scent of the delicious meal wafting through the air. You couldn't help but compliment the dish. "This looks amazing. Thank you for making it," you said with genuine appreciation.
Elijah's smile was warm and tender. "It was nothing, my dear. I promise, when we get back home, I'll cook you something truly spectacular."
"Back home," you echoed, a hint of melancholy in your tone. "You mean at the compound? With your notorious brother." The prospect made you anxious; your adoptive family had taught you to fear Klaus above all others.
Elijah noticed the concern in your eyes, his gaze softening. He reached across the table, gently taking your hand in his. "I understand your apprehension," he spoke gently, his touch reassuring. "But rest assured, I won't let anything happen to you. I'll protect you, no matter what."
His words brought a smile to your lips, reassured by his presence. "I never thought I'd feel safe around a Mikaelson, but with you, I do." you replied, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.
Elijah's expression softened further, his eyes reflecting genuine warmth and affection. "Good, because technically you are one now," he teased, his tone light.
You let out a soft chuckle and decided to ask the question that had been lingering in your mind. "Why do you think Klaus planned this honeymoon for us? It doesn't seem like something he'd typically do."
Elijah's lips curved into a wry smile. "Knowing Klaus, it was probably to torture me," he said, his tone half-joking but tinged with truth. "He enjoys testing my patience."
His admission surprised you. "Torture you? How?"
"I didn't expect to connect with you so easily," Elijah confessed, his gaze softening as he looked at you.
"You know, he packed me that exquisite lingerie," you explained, giving him a knowing look.
Elijah scoffed. "That was awfully presumptuous of him," he said, shaking his head.
"Well, Klaus was right, wasn't he?" You replied teasingly.
Elijah's expression shifted, surprise giving way to a warm, affectionate smile. "Yes, he was," he admitted, his voice softening. "I'm glad he was."
After the delightful dinner, you began clearing the table, intending to clean up. However, Elijah gently halted your movements. Effortlessly, he lifted you, placing you on the kitchen counter with a soft smile playing on his lips.
"Where were we... oh yes," he said in a low voice, his hand traveling up your thigh, the other gripping your waist and pulling you close, his lips meeting yours in a tender kiss.
Your eyes fluttered closed, your fingers threading through his hair, relishing the sensation of his hands on your body. "I love the way you touch me," you confessed breathlessly, your cheeks flushing at your words.
"I know," he murmured softly, his fingers already circling your clit, making your hips twitch with every movement. "I love watching you come undone."
A soft moan escaped your lips as he opened your legs wider, placing them on either side of his hips. He slid two fingers inside you, his gaze never leaving yours as you unraveled once again.
"Please," you begged, your legs trembling. "Please, Elijah, I want you."
"You have me," he teased, his thumb gently grazing your clit. "You'll have to be more specific."
"I... I want you to fuck me," you confessed, your cheeks reddening as he elicited more moans from you.
"Right here on the counter?" He said playfully, tilting his head in amusement as he watched your eyebrows arch. "I think I would prefer to have you in bed,"
You let out a quiet whine, his teasing becoming tortuous, your gaze locked onto his. "Then take me to bed," you asserted, your voice a little shaky
Your words spurred Elijah into action. Without hesitation, he picked you up, carrying you to the bedroom. In a blur of movement, you found yourself on the bed, your dress torn off. A gasp escaped your lips as he climbed on top of you, his expression dark and dominant.
"Is this how you like it?" he asked, pinning your wrists above your head with one hand.
"N-no," you moaned, rubbing your thighs together as you squirmed underneath him. "I-i want…"
He gave you a seductive grin and leaned down, pressing his lips to yours, then whispered in your ear. "What does my pretty wife want?" he asked, his dark eyes locking onto yours, as he parted your legs with his free hand.
"I want to touch you," you replied, your heart pounding from feeling vulnerable. You didn't know how to express that you wanted something more intimate.
His expression softened and he let go of your hands, his dominating demeanor fading into something sweet and gentle. "Go ahead," he said softly.
Your shaking hands roamed his chest and shoulders, your eyes admiring his handsome face. "You are so beautiful," you whispered. Pulling him close and kissing him sweetly as you unbuttoned his shirt.
He smiled and removed his shirt before discarding his pants. Climbing back into bed, he settled down next to you, his hand tracing over your curves before gripping your waist and pulling you against his bare skin. His lips found yours, a soft and tender kiss, one hand cradling the base of your neck, the other back between your legs, stroking your clit. You moaned into his mouth, your fingers cupping his face as you deepened the kiss.
A question had been lingering in your mind since the moment he left that morning, and you had been contemplating how to ask it all day. "Elijah," you whispered softly, the hesitancy evident in your tone.
He responded with a low murmur, his lips exploring your neck and chest, gradually descending toward your core. His caresses were a delicious distraction from the pressing question that weighed on your mind. "We'll be here for a week, right?" you asked, your voice trembling as he gently nibbled at the soft skin just above your panties.
"Yes," he murmured, his lips brushing against your skin. His hands dipped under your thighs, pushing them up around your hips and spreading them wide.
A hitch in your breath accompanied the sensation of his lips on the sensitive flesh of your inner thigh, momentarily causing you to lose focus. "S-so, you'll have to leave again to get blood," you stuttered out.
He shifted his head to look at you, his once-lustful gaze now softened with sorrow. "Unfortunately, yes," he replied.
"What if you just drink from me instead?" you asked, your voice trembling with anticipation, your heart racing in your chest.
Elijah halted his kissing, his expression contemplative. "It's a deeply intimate act," he replied, his voice low and filled with a complex mix of emotions. "It's not something to be taken lightly."
You couldn't help but tease him. "I'm sorry, are we not intimate enough? Look at what you're doing right now," you said, your fingers running through his hair as you pointed out the obvious. "And I've already had your blood, this seems only fair," you added with a playful glint in your eyes.
He smiled in response to your remark and moved back up your body. His lips found yours in a gentle kiss that stole your breath away. Pulling back, his dark eyes locked onto yours, searching for any sign of hesitation. He shifted slightly, situating himself above you, you could feel his cock brushing against your thigh as he kissed your neck. With a slow, deliberate motion, he guided himself into you, drawing your thighs up around his hips and pressing his body firmly against yours.
A gasp escaped your lips as he filled you completely, leaving your cheeks flushed and your legs trembling from the sensation. He began a gentle rhythm, each deliberate thrust igniting waves of pleasure throughout your body. A soft moan escaped your lips as he continued his slow pace. "Let me know when you're close," he said softly, his teeth grazing your skin, heightening your pleasure.
You nodded, the combination of his kisses and caresses driving you closer to the edge. Your hands found their way to his back, your nails digging into his skin as pleasure washed over you. Your moans filled the air as you surrendered yourself to him completely, reaching the edge of your climax, you whispered, "I'm close."
In response, Elijah lowered his lips to your neck, his fangs gently grazing your skin, and as you reached your peak he sunk his fangs into you. The taste of your blood filled his mouth, and he let out a low groan of pleasure. You clung to him, your nails breaking his skin as he drank from you. Elijah continued to move with a careful rhythm, his thrusts tender and unhurried, drawing out your orgasm in a prolonged crescendo. A low, guttural moan escaped your lips, the pain and pleasure overwhelming your senses.
He pulled back, licking the blood off his lips before kissing the bite mark on your neck, cleaning the remaining blood off your skin with his tongue. His thrusts became powerful and deep and his intense gaze locked onto yours, a warm smile forming on his lips in stark contrast to the raw, passionate movements of his hips.
"You are too good to me," he said in a low voice, his dark eyes lowering to your lips as you moaned in response, lost in the overwhelming pleasure.
His movements grew harder, each thrust becoming more intense. All you could do was cry out as another orgasm washed over you, your legs trembling and instinctively trying to shut, but Elijah held them open, his strokes turning slow, deep and deliberate.
"That's it," he murmured, his voice a low whisper, a tender smile gracing his lips as he gazed down at your blissed-out face. "Lovely wife."
He continued to make love to you with a passion you had never known before, his every movement a perfect blend of sweetness and intensity. In that moment, as you gazed into his dark eyes, you felt a profound sense of joy at being his, completely and utterly.
His body tensed, his movements growing erratic, and his thumb grazed your clit, sending you plummeting into another intense orgasm. At the same moment, he came undone, emptying inside you as his lips captured yours.
He pulled away, his lips curving into a soft smile as he watched you, your body sprawled out on the bed, your chest rising and falling as you tried to catch your breath.
"Holy shit," you gasped, rolling to your side and looking up at him, your eyes wide with amazement and satisfaction.
Elijah chuckled softly, his eyes filled with adoration as he brushed a strand of hair away from your face. "Was it too much?" he asked, his tone laced with genuine concern.
You shook your head, a satisfied grin spreading across your lips. "No, not at all. That was... incredible," you managed to say between breaths, your body still tingling.
He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, his lips warm against your skin. "I'm glad," he whispered, his arms wrapping around you as he pulled you close. You nestled into his embrace, feeling the comforting beat of his heart against your ear.
As sleep claimed you, you found solace in his presence, your heart filled with the unspoken love that bound you, a love patiently waiting for the perfect moment to be spoken aloud.

Thanks for reading Part 2!
I'm a huge lover of 90s music, I was listening to nevermind when I was writing this and got inspired.
If you are a fan of the album -- I think Klaus's favorite song would be territorial pissings!!! I tried to add it to the dialogue but I couldn't see Elijah mentioning that in an organic way.
Also the pasta Elijah made is called Aglio E Olio -- Its fucking delicious and seems fancy when its very easy to make.

You Call That Love? (Damon Salvatore x Male Reader)
Because I don't see many Damon Salvatore x male reader posts, I decided to write one myself. You can't convince me that Damon hasn't had male lovers before.
Summary: Elena tries to get with Damon but soon realizes he has moved on—with m/n of all people.
Tumblr media
Their lips moved in a frenzied dance, hands tearing at each other's clothes in a passionate embrace when the gasp of a familiar, bothersome human interrupted their intense makeout session. Looking up at Elena with an annoyed expression, m/n rolled his eyes before sitting upright, allowing Damon to hastily put his shirt back on. It wasn't for Elena's sake, because, frankly, he couldn't care less about her feelings, but M/n was a fiercely jealous man. He wouldn't give Elena even a glimpse of what was solely his.
"Why?" she whispered pathetically, her brown eyes tearing up while looking at Damon as if he had just killed her parents. "I thought we had something—"
Unable to contain his laughter, m/n released a hearty chuckle. "Why, Miss Elena?" he mocked "I distinctly remember you bragging about your relationship with Stefan not even a week ago. What happened? Trouble in paradise?" Feeling Damon's arms wrap around his middle, m/n cuddled against Damon's front, allowing the vampire to take what he needed.
M/n wasn't naive to the fact that Damon still harbored some feelings for Elena, although the nature of said feelings had changed. So, just for him, m/n would step back and allow things to run their course.
"You don't know anything," Elena hissed, her eyes narrowing at m/n with utter hatred. Ever since he stepped foot into Mystic Falls, her life changed for the worse: Bonnie and Caroline finally stood their ground and told Elena they didn't want to be involved in her problems. Recently, Stefan and she broke up; Stefan, noticing the eerie similarities between Katherine and Elena as of late, decided to break the cycle and began dating Caroline. But, worst of all, when Elena finally (or rather knew she had no other option) admitted she loved Damon, the vampire disregarded her confession, telling her he'd moved on—with m/n of all people.
"Elena," Damon's stern tone caused the girl to break eye contact and look expectantly at the vampire. A part of her still hoped Damon would realize the mistake he was making, but as the vampire continued talking, hope vanished. "I don't love you. M/n made me realize that what we had was toxic and borderline obsessive. Being with Stefan, then me, Matt—that isn't love."
"Don't try to tell me how I feel," Elena exclaimed. "I'm sorry it took me such a long time to realize my feelings, but you can't tell me what I feel for you isn't valid." Feeling bold, Elena stepped forward, about to touch Damon and reel him back into her web of manipulation, when m/n had enough and pinned the human to the wall, his hand on her throat. Uncaring if she could breathe, m/n felt this was sufficient punishment for Elena, thinking she could touch what was his.
Elena gasped for breath as m/n's grip tightened, her eyes widening with fear. M/n's voice sliced through the air like a blade, each word carrying the weight of resentment.
"You thought you could have it all, didn't you?" he sneered, his cold e/c eyes piercing into hers. "Stefan, Damon, and whoever else caught your fleeting attention. You don't care about anyone other than yourself. Where was this love when Damon was begging you to choose him? Your exact words were nobody could love a monster like you. And now you want to rewrite history? He's with me now, and I suggest you come to terms with that."
With a final, disdainful glance, m/n released his grip on Elena's throat. "You're twisting everything!" she exclaimed after regaining composure, her voice strained. "You don't know the whole story. What Damon and I have is real."
As Elena struggled to defend herself, Damon's expression shifted with each word she uttered. At first, her claim to have loved him drew a flicker of skepticism in his eyes. However, as she delved into the reasons for denying his love, a mix of hurt and anger played across his features. "I loved him, but he was too caught up in his own darkness to see it."
Damon's jaw tightened, and his eyes flashed with a wounded expression. It was as if her words had scraped at an old wound, reawakening the pain of rejection. "People change, m/n. Damon could have changed for me." The pair of vampires now stared in disbelief. How had Elena managed to turn herself into a victim in this situation?
"Change? Is that what you call it?" Damon's retort cut through the air like a cold gust of wind, his voice edged with bitterness. His eyes, once clouded with hurt, now blazed with a fiery resolve. "You left, Elena. You chose someone else. You choose Stefan." M/n, standing beside Damon, could sense the raw emotion emanating from the vampire, a poignant mixture of anger and hurt.
"M/n accepted me for who I am," Damon continued, his voice steady and absolute. "He didn't demand that I change, mold myself into someone more palatable to fit your version of love. You can't rewrite history just because you don't like the ending."
Frustration etched across Elena's face. "Fine, have it your way," she spat, casting one last resentful glance at Damon and m/n before storming out of the house, the door slamming shut behind her. Even as the sound of Elena's car drew farther away from the boarding house, Damon's eyes lingered on the closed door.
M/n turned to Damon, his gaze softening as he assessed his lover beside him. "You okay?" he asked, his voice gentle yet filled with genuine concern.
Damon's eyes, focused on the closed door, shifted to m/n. The heaviness that lingered in his eyes was replaced by an unspoken acceptance that this chapter of his life had closed. "Yeah," he replied, "Thanks for handling that."
M/n nodded, his expression conveying understanding. "You know I've got your back, always." Damon's eyes softened, a subtle warmth replacing the tension that had gripped him moments before. He didn't need grand gestures or elaborate confessions; the simplicity of m/n's words told him everything he needed to know.
"I love you."
"I love you too."

Go Timberwolves!
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x Plus size! cheerleader!reader
Description: You're a cheerleader and Elijah is in the stands. Your friend Jessica notices him first.
Warnings: none
____________________________________________________________
“Who is that?”
Jessica was looking over at the stands and toward a group of guys, all sitting next to each other. They looked hilariously out of place, all seemingly dressed for different events. The one with reddish hair and kiss-me lips was wearing a velvet jacket over a v-neck, three necklaces dangling over his heart. You’d seen him hanging around before, and recognized him as Rebekah’s brother Klaus. How many times had he been watching Caroline from the sidelines during a game or desperately offering to walk her to her car? Doubtful that Jessica didn’t know who that was, or that he was clearly obsessed with everyone’s favorite blonde.
Then there was the youngest of the three. He was dressed pretty normally for a high school football game in a t-shirt and jeans. He spoke animatedly to Klaus, who looked about as thrilled to listen as he would have been to get struck by lightning. His name was escaping your memory, but it was another K name, you were sure of it. Kyle! No…Kal?
All thoughts of K names were stripped from your thoughts the second your eyes landed on Jessica’s mystery man.
His hair was dark, and his eyes were darker. His features were angular, practically Grecian. He was wearing a suit, which was ridiculous because who wore a suit in Mystic Falls unless they were a realtor or attending a Lockwood party? Somehow, though, he pulled it off so perfectly that there was no question that he should be wearing it.
Never had you been so struck by a stranger. His eyes scanned over the crowd, and across the field, before landing squarely on you.
You blushed and turned away, heart thundering in your chest.
Elena and Bonnie had followed Jessica’s gaze too, and gave each other knowing looks. You were friendly with Elena but not close. You and Bonnie had been good friends since middle school, though, so you felt no shame sidling up to her and joining her conversation.
“Info on Jessica’s mystery man?” you asked, spreading your legs as you sat next to Bonnie, beginning to stretch. She laughed and gave you a stern look. “He’s Klaus’ older brother. No mystery.”
You bent forward, stretching out your back and Bonnie followed suit. “Off limits?” you ask, trying to seem curious but not invested.
“Yes.” she said quickly. Elena smacked Bonnie’s thigh.
“Elijah is not off limits.” she said. “He’s actually the only one out of the three of them I’d say is pretty on…limits…”
Elijah....you tried the name out in your head. Yes, you decided, that was a good name.
You all giggled. “I mean, Klaus is just too in love with Caroline.” you shrugged. “I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere near him.”
You sat up and bent your neck to the side, eyeing the rest of the cheerleaders. “Hey, where is Caroline?”
“Tyler drama.” Bonnie said conspiratorially. She sat upright, finished with her stretching. “He’s leaving again.”
“Shit.” you said, finishing up yourself. “I don’t really know what she sees in him anyway. He’s always been kind of an asshole. And Klaus seems to really like her.”
“Well Klaus needs to earn her.” Elena said hastily, turning away slightly. You weren’t sure what that was supposed to mean, but if Bonnie’s similarly agitated face was any indication, there was something going on that you weren’t in on. It wasn’t really any of your business anyway, you conceded, so you didn’t harp on it. Boy drama was so not your thing.
There was a fanfare suddenly, as the marching band began playing the introduction music for the Timberwolves. Rebekah stood and called you and the other cheerleaders into formation.
Once the players began coming out, you’d go right into the classic Timberwolves fighting cheer.
Just as the first player was making his entrance, a blonde head appeared next to you, startling you. It was as if she'd appeared out of thin air.
“Caroline!” you said, throwing a hand on your chest. “You scared the shit out of me.”
She smiled nervously. “Did I?”
You just laughed and joined the rest of the girls in the Timberwolves fighting chant, shaking your pom-poms and kicking your legs up.
The game didn’t start out super well for the Timberwolves, so you didn’t have a ton to do for awhile. You spoke to Caroline briefly about Tyler, but she didn’t want to say much, and she seemed genuinely upset about something. You weren’t close enough with her to give her emotional support, so you instead distracted her with a quick game of fuck, marry, kill between the three handsome Mikaelson boys.
“Kill Kol, Marry Klaus, Fuck Elijah.” Caroline said confidently. Kol! That was his name.
She was speaking a bit loudly, like she wanted someone to hear her. Probably Jessica.
You glanced up at the stands and noticed Klaus and Kol with their heads bent together. Elijah looked completely nonplussed.
“What about you?” she asked.
You glanced up at the brothers again. Elijah was looking in your direction now, almost as if he was listening to your conversation. He was probably just looking at the cheerleaders. He definitely wasn’t admiring you - you were the only girl on the squad who wore a uniform above a size large.
Still, you couldn’t help but fantasize about the idea of the three of them. Kol wasn’t really your type, so he was an easy kill. Klaus was gorgeous, to be sure, but something about Elijah was still singing through your veins after laying eyes on him that first time.
“Kill Kol, fuck Klaus, marry Elijah.”
Caroline gave you a wicked smile. “Elijah, huh?”
You shrugged. “He’s incredibly good looking.”
“Poor Kol.” Caroline said, her lip pouting.
“Rejection builds character.”
You glanced up again, and Elijah looked as if he might be laughing - Klaus too. Kol had his arms crossed against his chest. Weird….
Rebekah shrieked all of a sudden, breaking you out of your thoughts, as the Timberwolves finally scored, and the squad got on their feet to cheer.
The game ended with a Timberwolves win which you were thankful for - every win meant half price burgers at the grill. You and a few other girls planned to go there after, and you grabbed your stuff from the locker room, hoping to get to your car and beat them there - you were not going to be the fat girl in a mini skirt sliding into a booth full of people.
Bonnie, Elena and Caroline were all leaving together, huddled in conversation.
“Half price burgers, ladies?” you asked, walking backwards in front of them. “A Timberwolves win is a win for all of us.” you joked, quoting your incredibly cringy gym coach.
The girls laughed, but shook their heads.
“Homework.”
“Boy drama.”
“Tired.”
They’d all spoken at the same time, and you gave them all an incredulous look. “Ladies, I’m heartbroken. Next time if you’re going to break my heart, do it one at a time.”
You gave them a winning smile, and they returned it easily, thankful you hadn’t been upset.
“Next time I’m making you guys go!” you called, still walking backwards as you exited the hallway out of the locker room. You backed into the double doors leading to the parking lot and called a goodbye to them, turning around.
And slamming right into someone.
“Oh!” you cried, toppling towards the asphalt. The ground never came, though, because a pair of hands was holding you steady, and lifted you slowly upwards until you were staring Elijah Mikaelson in the face.
“My apologies.”he said, in a voice that hit that your ears and sent shivers straight to the apex of your thighs. Your jaw dropped, suddenly faced with his nearness.
“Not at all!” you cried. “I wasn’t looking.”
Not too far away stood Kol and Klaus. The former was watching you and Elijah, looking like he was trying very hard not to laugh. Klaus, of course, had become distracted the moment Caroline had appeared. He was stalking towards her, and to your surprise, Caroline looked like she might be walking towards him too. Normally she brushed him off completely.
You focused your attention back on Elijah.
“Excellent job tonight.” he said, his eyes locked on yours. You felt flushed from the unbroken eye contact, but didn’t dare break it.
“Thanks. It makes our job a bit easier when the team actually manages to score.”
He laughed, full and bright, and it made your heart soar to hear it.
“I’m Y/N.” you said, introducing yourself.
“Elijah. Mikaelson.”
“Nice to meet you Elijah.”
You offered your hand and he took it firmly in yours, but rather than shake it, he brought it up to his lips and kissed the back of it. Ok, you were officially a puddle on the ground and people were going to have to step in you to get to their cars.
“Hi!” came a bubbly voice, and you glanced over seeing Jessica. Of course she was going to try and stake her claim.
“I’m Jessica.” she said, sidling up next to you. “I saw you in the stands earlier. You’re a Mikaelson, aren’t you?”
Elijah nodded politely. “My reputation precedes me.”
Jessica smiled her flirty smile and pushed her chest out. “Rebekah and I are good friends. I make a point to know my friends’ families. It’s only good manners.”
You rolled your eyes involuntarily from behind Jessica, who had stepped into your space. When had she ever spent time with Rebekah outside of practice? She was clearly making her claim known, and you huffed, backing off.
A guy like Elijah wouldn’t be interested in you, anyway. It would have been nice to at least been given a chance, though, before perfect little Jessica had to come in and do her thing.
You sighed to yourself. That wasn’t nice. Jessica was your friend. It just sucked, sometimes, being the only bigger girl in a group of girls. Things were different for you.
“Well, I’ll let you two get acquainted.” you said, and Jessica quickly told you not to wait up for her at the Grill. You smiled encouragingly at her, even though you would have rather eaten nails. Jessica did technically see Elijah first, though, so regardless, the rule of dibs was firmly in place. Elijah’s eyes met yours and he looked…disappointed? It was probably nothing.
As you turned to go to your car, Matt Donovan brushed past you, walking fast. “Sorry, Y/N!” he called, power walking to his truck. You shook your head, laughing. You’d never seen Matt move that fast for anything, not even out on the field.
The other girls had made their way out now, and you caught up with them briefly to let them know you'd be going home instead of out. You weren't really in the mood for celebration any more. They gave you tight hugs and told you to call them in the morning, and you gave them all the finger just to get a laugh out of them.
Bonnie was leaning against her car when you made your way to yours.
“Why’d you do that?” she asked, giving you a curious look.
“Why’d I do what?” you said, tossing your duffle into the backseat.
“You just let Jessica take over. You were talking to Elijah first.”
“Yeah, but Jessica saw him first. Besides, I bumped into him. It’s not like we talked about anything profound.”
Bonnie sighed. “You wanted to talk to him though.”
You crossed your arms. “Yeah, so?”
“So!” she cried, placing her hands on your shoulders. “So you’re the funniest girl on the planet, and you're beautiful and talented and you deserve to be happy.”
You rolled your eyes. “Shut up.”
“It’s true! You’re amazing.”
“I know, I just wanted you to say more.”
Bonnie shoved at you playfully. “See? Your wit is unmatched.”
“And you’re kind.” you said seriously. “And a really, really good friend.”
Bonnie looked down, her mouth quirked to the side. “Thank you.”
A laugh echoed from across the parking lot, and you stared at Caroline and Klaus standing by Caroline’s car. They were standing close together and laughing, and Klaus’ finger was twirled around a strand of Caroline’s hair.
You hit Bonnie in the shoulder and pointed.
“Ummmmmm?” You gave her an incredulous look.
“I know!” Bonnie said, coming to lean against your car. “She said she broke up with Tyler. She said she’s done with wishy-washy.”
You smiled happily as the two continued flirting. “I’ve been dying for them to get together.”
“No, literally!” She threw her hands up in the air. “The tension was incredibly cuttable.”
You snorted. “Like, thick enough I think I’d need a chainsaw.”
Bonnie hid her giggle behind her hand. You watched Klaus and Caroline as Bonnie began asking you if you were still going to the grill.  You wished you had a guy to flirt with against your car.
“I’m kind of hungry all of a -”
Bonnie’s voice trailed off, and you tore your eyes away from the happy couple to stare at your friend.
“Bon?”
Her eyes were trained behind you, a small smile on her lips. You followed her eyes, and there was Elijah. His nearness startled you, and you jumped a foot in the air.
“My apologies.” he said, amusement in his eyes.
“We have got to stop meeting like that.” you responded.
“I’ll see you tomorrow!” Bonnie called, already on the other side of her car and hopping in the front seat. You gave her an incredulous look.
“Traitor!” you called, as she began to pull out. She looked completely self righteous as she pulled out of the parking lot, Britney blasting on her speakers.
“Well..” you breathed, turning back to Elijah. “Twice in one night? To what do I owe my great fortune?”
He shrugged. “I have a thing for cheerleaders.”
Your jaw dropped. “Wait, are you serious?”
He laughed. “No, not at all. But I saw you from the stands and wanted to get to know you better. So here I am.”
You couldn’t help the huge smile overtaking your face. Elijah Mikaelson wanted to get to know you?
“What about Jessica?”
He shrugged. “She’s a nice girl. Not really my type.”
“And I am?”
He huffed. “Am I not making myself clear? Shall I fetch a plane and spell it out in the sky for you?”
I shook my head, faux serious. “It’s nighttime Elijah. I’d never be able to see that.”
He snorted - actually snorted. It was the most adorable thing you might have ever heard.
“You’re a minx, and you know it. Now agree to go to dinner with me.”
“Half price burgers at the grill?”
He smiled wryly. “No, that won’t do. I’m a full price kind of guy. I need candles, roses, the whole chair pulling out thing. Carlo’s. Friday night. Eight o’ clock.”
Carlo’s was like, ridiculously nice. And expensive. “But that’s-”
“It’s what?” he challenged. “Because if you’re suggesting I can’t afford it…”
You shook your head. “No, of course not. I’m sure you can. But I can’t!”
Faster than you could even fathom, Elijah was backing you up into the side of your car, his hands locked on either side of you, face inches away from your own. His eyes were dark and bore into you, making your palms begin to sweat.
“I’m not in the habit of taking women out on dates and having them pay.” His breath fanned across your face. Your eyes flickered down to his lips, and you shivered. His presence was intoxicating.
“Have I made myself clear?” he asked, and damn if that question didn’t excite you. You nodded, your breath hitching, and he leaned even closer to you for a moment before pushing himself away.
“Good!” he declared, and once he backed off, he took a moment to rake his gaze across your body. Your uniform did little for the imagination, and you were kind of thankful.
“See you soon, Y/N.” He called sweetly, shifting from domineering to polite so quick you had whiplash. You watched him go, a dopey smile on your face.
“Wait!” you called. “Do you want my phone number?”
He paused, then reached into his pocket for his phone. He typed for a moment, then locked the screen and placed it back in his pocket.
Your phone dinged.
Tell Bonnie I said thank you.
You smirked. Of course Bonnie had given him your number. You'd have to remember to get her a thank you gift.
As you started your car and got ready to go, movement from the car behind you caught your attention in your mirror. You struggled to see clearly what it was, but when you did, you were shocked.
There, in the pickup truck Rebekah Mikaelson had gifted him, was Matt Donovan making out with her brother Kol.
You laughed all the way home, imagining the look on Rebekah’s face when she finds out.

Hey <3
I absolutely love ur work & it makes my day when u post ^^
I saw that u take fluff requests rn :)
So how about this:
(Summer, Almost full moon) going to an old very nature-overgrown lake at night with damon, they get drunk on the way there and listen to all kinds of songs, even singing to some in a dramatic/silly way.
When they get there there’s all kind of sounds (frogs, fishes that come up to catch mosquitoes, crickets chirping) the phone dies aka no music, damon drinks even more & starts a serious topic
The convo leaves an awkward atmosphere & damon to digress just impulsively wants to go for a swim, he does and after a while y/n ain’t having it nomore & wants to go home. Damon tried to “lure” her in but she just laughed at him calling him all kinds of things.
She doesn’t wanna go home alone cuz it’s kinda scary, so she gets near the water & tries to make a compromise, he “makes it look like he’s coming out” only to pull her into the lake with him. She’s shocked and only gets madder with all his stupid drunk giggling (maybe they hug or even kiss in the water?) <3 xoxo
Pairing: Damon Salvatore x fem!reader

A/N: first offfff thank you so much for the request! Any type of interaction with this account is so appreciated and I'm grateful you chose me for this request :) I'm so happy you're enjoying What We Knew. Good stuff is coming, and I hope you enjoy this one <3
“Come on, let’s go,” he said, standing up,
“What? No, c’mon, let’s just stay here,” her brows furrowed and lips smiled,
“Let’s go,” he insisted, reaching for her hand and pulling her up,
“Alright, alright,” she sighed, letting him pull her, “but this,” she said, turning behind her and reaching for the too-large flask they had been sharing, “is being refilled and coming with us,” she nodded, rounding the couch to the liquor cart and grabbing a bottle of bourbon, “oh fuck,” she sighed, looking between her hands. Holding the flask in her left and the bottle in her right, her arms swayed without her wanting them to, “nope. Can’t do it,” she shook her head, “here,” she said, holding out the items to Damon,
“I love that instead of taking your inability to pour a drink as a sign to stop drinking, you just let someone else do it,” he shrugged, grabbing the items and Y/N chuckled,
“Whatever, we’re having fun,” she sighed. He filled the flask and looped his speaker round his wrist before they left the Salvatore Boarding House.
Damon was always showing her pretty places. Fields, meadows, rivers, forests, the like. So, as they stepped off the Salvatore’s property, into the verdance, she didn’t find herself questioning him or where he was taking her. Surely it would be somewhere beautiful. Somewhere she would love to see during this level of drunkenness. Though, after maybe twenty minutes of walking seemingly aimless through the dark bush, she pondered their destination,
“How much further?” She asked,
“Oh, come on it’s only been twenty minutes,” he rolled his eyes,
“Yeah, which is like, a billion years in drunk people time,” she shrugged and he snorted, that smile spreading across his lips,
“We’re almost there,” he said, glancing at her then forward again when a song neither of them had heard in however long came on,
“Oh my god,” Y/N said, bending her knees slightly in excitement, and Damon let his head back, chuckling at the song. It played for a few second and when they knew it was time for the first verse, Damon spoke up,
“Ready?” He asked, slowing to a stop and turning to her,
“Arabian Prince back with a style that’s hype,”
“Not slow and low, it’s the fast type,”
“Gettin’ dumped!”
“Can you hear the drums?”
“Yo Dre, why don’t you pump it up some?” She laughed, stepping forward,
“I pumped it up so now what’s up?”
“Yo Yella Boy add a little cut,” she said, bouncing with each step and moving her arms smoothly,
“What the hell, you think we need some bells?”
“Yeah homeboy might as well,” she shrugged,
“There it is, so now what’s next?”
“A little, so find me a ho-,”
“--oold it, wait a minute, you need somethin’ else in it,” he pointed, and the both of them stopped in their tracks and turned to each other,
“This what I want you to do,” they said in unison, “feel the groove,” they sang, bending their knees, “bust a move,”
“Yo, yo, I’m tired, what about you?” Damon sang,
“Man, this is something to dance to!” Y/N laughed and so did he. They turned forward again and he wrapped his arm over her shoulders. Their bodies moved to the beat, taking their steps with some bounce and their shoulders moving fun.
“Man that’s wack–” They started again in unison, but as they did, his speaker played that sad little noise and the music silenced. They both groaned,
“Aw fuckkk,” he said, looking up at the sky, “whatever,” he shrugged and rolled his eyes and Y/N chuckled, sighing. She took a deep breath, cheeks sore from smiling so wide. She felt so damn good. Nice little buzz, good music… At least there was, and the one person she was never too tired to see, walking beside her. The otherwise hushed forest came to life as they furthered. Or maybe now that his speaker died she could finally hear what they were missing,
“What is that?” She whispered, slowing to a stop and moving her hair from her ear, “do you hear that?” she smiled and looked up at Damon who’s brows were furrowed
“You really asking me if I can hear that?” He asked and she both scoffed and chuckled,
“Whatever,” she rolled her eyes, “I love frogs,” she sighed, stepping forward again,
“I know you do,” he said, “which is one of the reasons I brought you here,” he said and as he did, she could see a small clearing maybe half a dozen yards away. She looked past it, seeing a certain light beyond it bouncing up and down in hundreds of places. As they neared, she saw it was a lake. A smile widened on her face at the sight and she scanned the view. Soft rush sprouted densely around the entirety of the lake, though the body was so large Y/N could see the end only if she squinted. Her shoes met with bumpy rocks of varying sizes and weights and they walked over them, closer to the shore. She could hear the frogs so clearly now. There were so many croaks she couldn’t guess how many scattered the lake even if she wanted to.
“It’s so…” She said, shaking her head and looking around. She turned to Damon, “it’s so untouched,” she said,
“Too out of the way for tourists that don’t care about nature,” he shrugged, “Get’s decent traffic in July though,” he said looking out to the water. Perfect night he chose to bring her here. There wasn’t a single light nearby and she could imagine how dark it would have been if the moon wasn’t nearly full. She looked up at the sky. Stars scattered the twilight. She saw Venus and the North Star. But quickly her eyes were brought to the moon. So beautiful and bright and precious. She stared at it for a few moments, letting her eyes focus on the brightness against the vast empty space. She saw the craters she had seen so many times and wondered how many other people were looking at the moon, just like her, right now.
“Look at that, you see that?” Damon said, pointing out the lake,
“What?” She asked, turning to him then to the lake
“A fish, it just jumped out,” he smiled, looking at her then back out at the lake,
“What? Really?” She asked, glancing at him then to the lake again, “Where?”
“There,” he said, stepping forward. His left hand touched her arm and he extended his right over her shoulder so she could see where he was pointing, “that area right there,” he said, letting his arm fall to his side, “keep an eye on it,” he said, and she did. It took only a minute for another fish, maybe the same one, to jump up and catch a fly. She gasped when she saw it and let out a laugh,
“Oh my god, that is so cute,” she said, looking out to the lake. He said nothing, but she felt him looking at her. He pulled the flask from his jeans and unscrewed it, bringing the old steel to his lips.
“Mm?” He asked, offering her the flask as he swallowed his sip,
“Thanks,” she smiled, grabbing the flask. She turned around, looking for somewhere to sit and enjoy the view. A log, one of few, rested a couple yards behind them and she took a seat. Damon sat next to her and Y/N passed the flask back to him.
“Why do you always take me to these places?” She asked, looking over at him. He raised his brows once before furrowing them. He took a sip and looked out to the lake,
“I don’t know,” he shrugged, “‘cause I think you’d like ‘em?” He shrugged again, like he didn’t even know, “whenever I find myself in these places,” he said, taking in a deep breath. He sighed, “I find myself seeing you in every single one of them,” he said, “I bring you to these places because I wanna see your smile. I wanna hear your laugh,” he shrugged, “whenever I have some place to show you, I know I’ll get to see the exact same light in your eyes that I saw before you knew about us,” he said, a little more quiet. Her brows pulled together slightly at this. She thought she had asked such an innocent question. But is answer made her feel otherwise. In truth, she didn’t know how to feel about his words. Had Stefan, Bonnie or anyone else said this to her she wouldn’t have been thinking too hard about it. But Damon said it. And he never said stuff like this. These words were laced with something deeper than concern or appreciation. She knew it was, but she couldn’t pinpoint it. Not without feeling completely out of bounds. She didn’t say anything, and didn’t even realise it until he brought the flask to his lips again and took another swig.
“Let’s go for a swim,” he nodded, screwing the cap back on and standing up. He slid the flask in his pocket and shrugged off his leather jacket. She smiled, thinking still of his words. Though, the smile dropped as she registered what he just said,
“Um, no,” she shook her head,
“What? Why?” He asked,
“Damon I am fully dressed and under the influence of alcohol,” she said,
“Yeah and I was a lifeguard in the 80’s and unless you’re going commando right now, it doesn’t really matter,” he shrugged,  “strip,” he said, pulling off his shirt. Y/N laughed,
“No, Damon, come on,” she groaned,
“Let’s gooo,” he said, unbuckling his belt and unzipping his jeans,
“Damon I am not swimming,” she said,
“Fine, fine, whatever, Fear from Inside Out,” he rolled his eyes and the widest smile spread on her face. She clapped, throwing her head back and laughing,
“You did not just fucking reference Inside Out,”
“Hey, I am an incredibly well-rounded individual, okay?” He chuckled, facing her as he walked backward to the shore. He pulled off his pants and balled them up, throwing the denim onto the pile of clothes near Y/N. She chuckled glancing down his body for a only a moment, then back to his face, still chuckling,
“Well, enjoy. Let me know how it is,” she raised her brows once. He smiled, shaking his head and turned around. He stepped into the water slowly, taking his time. “Oh my god, Y/N, you gotta get in here,” he said, turning around when he stood waist deep, “it’s warm as hell,” he said,
“Hell is really hot, Damon. Maybe even hotter than you,” she joked and for a moment she caught him smirking and looking away, “I don’t know if I wanna touch something an estimated eight-hundred kelvin,” she shrugged and he shook his head,
“Come on,” he said, walking a little closer to the shore,
“Damon no,”
“‘Damon, no’,” He imitated, “come on,” he gestured with his head, water now at his calves, “take off your shoes and feel how warm it is,” he shrugged, crossing his arms. She looked at him, narrowing her eyes slightly as she decided whether or not she would.
“Fine,” she said, tilting her head, “but we’re going home after,” she crossed her arms dramatically,
“Fine,” he said, mimicking her crossed arm. She chuckled and leaned down, untying her laces and kicking her shoes off. She pulled off each sock and stuffed them in her shoes, “are you sure it’s okay for humans?” She asked, walking over the uncomfortable rocks and pebbles,
“Yes, I’m sure,” he nodded. She stepped forward, stopping before the water. She looked down then up at him, “well come on then,” he said, beckoning with his hand. She smiled and took a step, feeling the warm as hell water.
“Damn,” she said, taking a few more steps, getting closer to him, “this is nice,” she nodded, looking back up at him,
“I know right?” He raised his brows once and tilted his head. She smiled and looked to the side, out at the huge lake stretching so far. Then she turned to him again and met a certain smile.
“What?” She chuckled. He said nothing, only narrowed his eyes and his smile deepened into a smirk. The smile fell from her face,  “Damon, Damon, no,” she said and he grinned. She turned around but before even leaving the water, Damon reached forward with impressive speed and wrapped his arms around her, “Damon!” She yelled and he lifted her up walking them backwards,
“We’re going!” He said, “it’s too late!” He said and turned to the side, falling into the water. Her body submerged in the wet lake. God. Her clothes already stuck to her skin like that certain plastic wrap you can never get off your hands. Though, it wasn’t cold. Somewhat to her dismay, it was actually enjoyable. It felt like a warm hug around her arms. Damon gave hugs like that. Safe and big and friendly. Her feet met tiny rocks and she pushed herself past the surface,
“Oh my fucking god, Damon!” She said immediately, sucking in a breath and slicking her hair back, rubbing her eyes. He laughed hysterically, clapping his hands and legs staggering about, “you are so fucked up,” she said, unable to control the amusement and laughter in her tone. She laughed, shaking her head, just loving the sounds of joy he made. She narrowed her eyes at him and leaned forward. Palms against his chest, she shoved him forward. He was too busy laughing at her to save himself and she pushed him right in. His head fell under the surface but he stood himself up quickly,
“That was good, that was good,” he chuckled, wiping his hair back. A single strand fell back against his forehead and Y/n tried to ignore how cute it looked, “I definitely deserved it,” he smiled, wading toward her,
“I cannot believe that you did that,” she shook her head and crossed her arms, “now I’m all cold,” she put on a fake frown but her eyes were too full of fun,
“Aw, how sad,” he pouted, “I guess we’ll have to swim in this warm water for a little longer then,” he shrugged.

A Night to Remember
Pairings: Elijah Mikaelson x Reader Word Count: 5k words Warnings: NSFW, smut, oral sex (f!receiving, implied m!receiving), praise kink, unprotected sex, multiple orgasms, language, slight dumbification (if you blink, you'll miss it), creampie, slight dirty talk/degradation (if you blink, you'll miss it), Elijah's species unspecified... A/N: This was originally called "Bad Habits Lead to You" bc I was writing it around the song by Ed Sheeran, but I changed my mind cuz I liked this more. ALso, I have not written for Elijah in forever, so this made me really happy to write. Nevermind that I started writing this in October 2022. Thanks and enjoy!

Your plum dress was tight against your skin. It was something you knew he'd enjoy, a dress you'd chosen specifically to please the man you were practically praying would arrive as you fingered the jewels of the fancy necklace around your neck. It was heavy, thoroughly bedazzled and way too expensive for anything you could ever afford. A gift from the gentleman himself.
Many faces were shrouded from view by masks of simple and extravagant designs of all kinds. Yours, like your necklace, was worth its weight in gold and more; another gift. Flitting through the party, grins and smirks were sent your way from men and women alike. Some were admiring, some hungry, others were strewn onto faces out of envy.
That envy would grow when they find who was coupled with this goddess in purple and gold. You spotted him at the center of the mezzanine, looking down at all the guests like he was the king of his own personal kingdom through the eyes of his mask, one that paired with your own. The look in his eyes certainly conveyed that superiority, lighting a match that lived in the pit of your stomach and between your thighs as you stared up at him with an adoring gaze.
He had already been watching you, a dark hunger taking you in. You made your way toward him, stepping up each marble stair to reach this man who decked you out like a queen. He was reaching out for your hand before you reached the top step, taking it and bending down to place a kiss to the back of your palm. “My dear,” he greeted affectionately.
Goosebumps shivered up your arm and into your bloodstream. Your body threatened to follow suit as you watched him handle you with such…care. “Elijah,” you responded.
“Would you care to dance?” He straightened his back, even took a small step closer and eliminated the personal space that had already been demolished the first moment you saw this adonis of a man.
You breathed a quiet breath at his question, “A gentleman, as always.” As always. You said it as though you’d known him for more than simply a week. In truth, Elijah was a fling. You’d met him a week prior, caught up in all of his grace and eloquence as he swept you across the dance floor of the extended masquerade ball and then into his arms to take you to bed.
It wasn’t normally like you, to be so taken by some stranger enough to sleep with him that same night. And then to sleep with him the next night, and the night after that, and so on, and so forth. But there was something about Elijah, something so captivating that you could not quite place.
As he swept you to the dance floor for yet another seductive venture across the marble, you accepted with little more than a simple nod.
And then, when he pressed you against a wall in a darkened nook in the large mansion of a home, you gasped into the unusually warm air of the late autumn night as his hot lips pressed to the heated skin of your chest and he devoured you.
Last night was supposed to be the last time, and the night before that, and the night before that. He was like some drug that you had all too quickly become addicted to—and with a face like that, how could you not?
You knew you shouldn't. At the very least, you should try not to. It was not as though he was the perfect man. No, your perfect man would still be there when you woke in the morning with aching limbs, a souvenir, and cold sheets that barely held enough warmth to convince you his departure was recent.
Your perfect man would not grant you a collection of late nights full of pleasure and desire ending alone in the morning with a handwritten note and a new little gift.
Or, perhaps, he was doing you a service. Showing you how impermanent this arrangement was—how impermanent it should be. If only you would listen, take his flight for what it was: a warning.
But as his warm lips slotted perfectly against the column of your throat, leaving you gasping and clawing at his strong arms, you knew once again that your lesson was not learned. He dipped down and secured your leg in his steel grip, brushing it up his side to rest along his hip. He pressed himself closer to your body and returned his lips to your own. He pulled back for a moment, towering over you as he stared with those dark, predatory eyes: a lure, a trap. “Would you like to carry this somewhere more intimate?”
There were two responses waiting on your tongue. A less sensible one, “What's the need? Let them hear us.” And a more sensible one, “Yes, I want you all to myself.”
The only reason the latter was more sensible was because it gave you the option of containing your ardor so you could speak sensibly. Hardly any sober words were exchanged when you were in the throes of intoxicating passion with this man. And there was a reason you came here tonight…
Other than your endless desire to find your body melding with his own, an entanglement of limbs and complicated emotions.
“Yes,” you whispered. “Let’s go.”
He carefully released your leg with a wolfish grin, readjusting your appearances so you didn’t look as frazzled as you were. One quick kiss to your lips and he was walking with you back into the crowds of the masquerade ball.
Dancing through the crowd was easy, getting out of the door was easy, getting into his car was easy. The hard part came when you were driving away in the silence of his sleek Mercedes-Benz.
“Elijah,” you found your voice, fiddling with your fingers as you tried to organize your thoughts. He glanced at you before returning his gaze to the road. He hummed deeply in his throat, and you cleared yours, turning your gaze on him and smiling to shield the nerves. “Why did you choose me? Of all the women you could have taken home that first night, the second, the third, all of it, why did you choose me?”
It had confused you since you first met at the beginning of the ball. Was he bored? Were you convenient? Just the first person he laid eyes on? Why you?
His gaze flitted between you and the road as his lips twitched. He licked his bottom lip slowly, shifting his hand to rest atop your own. He squeezed it gently. "You intrigue me."
"I intrigue you?" you echoed, tilting your head.
He nodded. "You're beautiful, you're clever, and you're asking the right questions."
You blinked, glancing away for a moment before looking back again. "I'm asking the questions?" You hated that you couldn't find your own words right then, you couldn't come up with a response (which led you to debate the cleverness he claimed you had).
His gaze lingered a little longer on you than it probably should have. "If I'd picked the wrong woman, she would continue our exploits with no regard for her own self-worth. She'd be content with being just another woman in my sheets."
"A whore?" you quirked a brow and smirked playfully. His smile grew and he shrugged, but did not confirm the choice of words you so elegantly put forth.
You sat back and felt the smile on your face shift slightly into a look of contemplation. "So I wasn't just easy?"
He shook his head, this time with a little chuckle. "Of course not." He leaned into your ear, and a shiver rushed through your spine at the closeness. "I don't like easy."
The sensibility was gone, and the arousal had returned as he pulled into the lot of his home. He rounded the car and came to your side, opening your door and offering his hand. Stepping out, your eyes locked as you rose to your feet, entirely invading the personal space which had stopped existing.
Your lips were inches apart as you lingered there before brushing past him and walking ahead toward the house. He followed behind you, for once leaving him mystified instead of you. You walked on toward the house, dimly lit and awaiting your company, until he was coming up behind you with his arms around your waist. He wrapped you up and carried you inside like a bride—no, not a bride. You can't even consider it in that way, lest you make the biggest mistake of your life.
He opened the door and listened to your giddy excitement as he smiled at you all the way up the expanse of the stairs. The way he burst through his bedroom door and dropped you onto the bed rivaled his gentlemanly behavior over the course of the past few days.
He kicked the door closed with his foot and stalked toward you, depraved and bloodthirsty. You'd been in this position before, staring up at him with hooded eyes. He discarded his blazer, looming over your body and ravaging your lips. His hands held you close to him as he dragged the zipper of your dress down along your back.
You gasped into his kiss, sloppy and without care to the intricate details of intimacy. You pressed your palms against his sides and pulled him closer to you. As his large hand cupped your throat, your back arched into him and his kisses lapped along your jaw. Shallow breaths fanned along your skin, and you welcomed it with short sighs.
You raised a hand against his chest, your fingers danced along his collarbone. Pushing him back, he sat on his knees as you followed, chasing his lips. You flattened your hand along the side of his neck, guiding him onto his back so you could straddle him. Your movement was slow and measured, taking one thing at a time to prolong your evening together as long as possible.
Your lips molded together once more, your hips moving to a slow grind. His eyes never left yours, a guile intimacy that urged your fervor to moan-filled kisses that set your skin ablaze. His hands gripped your waist, guiding your hips onto his. Your eyes shut as a delicate sigh passed your lips, your hands grasping onto his shoulders for support as he rocked you back and forth atop him.
“Don’t stop,” you whispered, addicted to the feel of him touching your body. One of your hands moved to sit atop his own, holding him as you ground your hips. He watched you move with lidded eyes as your head fell back and your lips parted in a lustful ‘O’.
His hands trailed up your body and under the fabric half-forgotten on you until he was surrounding your chest, leaning forward just enough to allow you to sit in his lap as your dress rode up higher and higher along your thighs and hung around your shoulders. Despite his determination to undress you until you were bare before him, he wanted to take his time ravaging your body. Soon your dress was discarded and you were left in nothing but the lingerie that had been sitting idly by in your closet until this night.
He looked up at you with a smirk, teasing, “All for me?”
You scoffed, shaking your head at him with a playful laugh, “No, for the doorman at the party.”
He rolled his eyes a little. “Well, the doorman is fired.” You laughed and he silenced you with his lips upon your chest. You bared your neck for him, sighing gently as your hands played with the fabric of his expensive bowtie.
You attacked his lips as you did your best to fumble for the buttons of his shirt. They twisted and slipped from your fingers, and your patience had run out before long to send what felt like a million buttons shooting from his shirt and all around you. Your hands roamed the expanse of his broad chest, pressing your fingertips into his flesh. “Such an impatient creature,” he hummed.
“Shut up,” you sighed as you wrapped your arms around his neck and brought him to your lips again. Your fingers tangled in his hair as you pulled his body flush against yours, your tongue slipping into his mouth as his own joined in. Your hands shifted from his neck to his chest as you felt his warm skin beneath your palms. You huffed as you allowed your hips to grind down on him again, pulling a wavering moan from your throat and making you sound deliciously pathetic.
“I need you,” you whimpered against his lips, opening your eyes to grant him that needy look that you hoped would get you what you wanted.
He just smiled, as though he could read your mind. “Patience, my dear.” He shifted upon the bed so he was closer to the headboard as he began to lean forward, holding you to his body as he moved to lay you on the bed. You lay back with shallow breath, staring up at him as he gazed back, never breaking eye contact for a moment as he adjusted himself to tower over you.
He leaned in and you bared your neck to him again as he pressed a kiss to your throat, right on top where the muscles shifted as you moaned. He hummed deep in his own throat, his lips caressing your skin as he took his time with you. You held your breath when the tip of his tongue dragged along your skin from the bottom to the top as he traced a vein thumping there. You whispered his name and he rewarded you with the press of his knee into your needy core, just barely reaching your clit enough to make you sigh again.
His lips trailed along your body, spending too much time on every little patch of skin he could find as he traveled down, down, down. He pulled your legs over his shoulders, pressed his kisses into your thighs, and you whimpered when his teeth teased the flesh he grazed. He stared you in the eyes as he did it, moving closer to where you burned for him until his lips found your clit. You sighed gently at the feeling, but you were swiftly interrupted as it didn't last.
He dove into you, his lips and tongue and teeth attacking you. From here, with the way his hair fell over his forehead and his eyes grew dark and primal, he looked like a predator. His name stuttered from your lips, dropping the first letter as you gasp at the feeling of his tongue lapping at your pussy. His fingers dig into your thighs, his lips suck on your clit, his tongue licks into you. Your back arches off the bed and your fingers tangle in his hair. You can't help your whimper as he pleasures you, an expert, it seems, in everything he does.
He moaned into you, sending shivers up your spine as you tugged on his hair. His tongue flicked insistently at your clit, eager to taste you again as you whimpered deliciously.
The sound broke when his fingers prodded at your pussy, slipping the tips of them into your warmth and slowly working them deeper and deeper. Once buried inside of you, he thrusts them slowly at first, in and out and in and out, playing you like an instrument as he curls and pumps his fingers. His slow pace never lasted as he built you to the top, wanting so badly to watch you shatter with your release.
You cursed under your breath, feeling a knot in your belly as you clenched down around his fingers, your clit pulsing against his tongue. "I'm so close," you whimper, grinding urgently against his face.
He was so in tune with your body by now. It took past lovers so long to learn your stops and goes, what makes you tick, what makes you scream. You had known Elijah a week, and he had mastered it.
As the pleasure twisted in your gut and your chest filled with air, you could feel your release taunting you. You whispered his name just as you were about to come.
And Elijah pulled away.
The frustration built quickly in the pit of your stomach, and you clenched the bedsheets and your jaw flexed. You could feel your pleasure retreating like waves after they've licked the shore, spoiling inside of you. Elijah's lips found yours again, smirking against them as you reluctantly kissed him back, angry but still not immune to his charm.
"Fuck you," you breathed against his lips.
He shrugged a shoulder. "I'd rather fuck you."
You rolled your eyes, interrupted by his lips once more, his tongue licking into your mouth. He wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling them tight as he supported you to straddle his lap. His hands grabbed your ass, squeezing and smacking the flesh once. You yelped, your foreheads meeting as you breathed the other's air.
"Please, Elijah," you begged, too desperate to be shy, too enraptured in his skill to be ashamed.
His hand smoothed along your cheek, fingers tangling in your hair to move it back and away from your face. "What do you want, hm?" he hummed. "Tell me what you want, my dear."
You carded your fingers through his hair and sighed longingly. Between kisses, you whispered, "Fuck me. Like you did the first night." You braced your hands around the back of his neck, opening your eyes to look at the dark coffee brown of his own. "If this is my last night with you, I want to make it count."
His breath slowed for a moment as his eyes trailed over your face, like he only just now realized tonight would be the last night and he wanted to really look at you before he never saw you again. Yours did the same. This was the last night.
The moment, full of more intimacy than a couple of one week should be capable of, passed with only a few seconds more than there should have been. He took your hips in his palms, kneaded the flesh, and pulled you into a slow kiss just as desperate as the ones before.
A new passion took you as he rolled your hips in his lap, grinding your wet pussy along his dark slacks, ruining them for future wear as your arousal smeared all over the fabric. He didn't seem to care, especially not with the way he moved your hips to ruin them some more. You only paused his hands when you lifted one leg from their position on either side of him to begin undoing his slacks, slipping them down his legs until they were entirely discarded. Crawling back into his lap and taking his beautiful cock in your hand with an enthusiasm that made him chuckle, you stroked the thick length of him in your palm, up and down and up and down, as beads of precum slipped from the weeping tip and dribbled down the side of him.
"Fuck," he cursed with his forehead against yours, leaning his head to fall onto your shoulder as you moved your wet palm to a steady rhythm along his hard cock. "Look at what you do to me."
You moaned at his praise, working your fist faster until he suddenly grabbed your wrist to stop you. He gave you a hard, dark stare before lifting your waist. As you sat up on your knees, feeling the hard tip of him tapping against your slit, you bit your lip to contain your moan.
He lifted your chin to look at him, his eyes boring into your own as that silent question urged an answer. Do you want this? For the last time, do you want this?
No, you thought to yourself, flattening your palm against his chest. Not for the last time.
"Please, Lijah," you whispered. "Fuck, I need you. I want you."
Taking your hips, he lowered you into his lap, his eyes fluttering and his jaw clenching as he groaned deep on his throat, letting his head fall back to savor the moment. You moaned, feeling yourself flutter around his cock as you took him into your tight pussy. You whimpered his name through trembling lips, laying your head against his shoulder.
"Good girl," he breathed in a strained manner, his hands roaming your body as he felt you clench around him. Your lips pressed to his neck, your tongue tracing over a vein there, as you slowly rocked your hips on top of him. He groaned roughly as you did.
Slowly, your bodies built a rhythm, a steady pace setting as you moved in tandem, thriving off the other's lust as you grabbed and felt and moaned and kissed. The intimacy licked at your skin and sunk into your bones, coating you in lust thick and sweet like honey. It pulsed and pumped through your veins like blood, your very life force shifting to depend on his tenderness.
You bounced in his laps with a level of excitement that mirrored the pleasure on your face. His breath was heavy in your ear as he thrust his hips up to meet the roll of your hips to the best of his ability. As the desperation to feel you, to hear you, filled his blood, he wrapped his arms around you, engulfing you to pull your body flush against his own. He laid you once more on your back, reseating himself inside of you as one hand gripped your waist and the other propped himself up beside your head.
Easing some hair from your face, he pressed his lips to the underside of your jaw, right above a pressure point that made you choke, and began to move his hips in a steady rhythm. In and out and in and out and filling to the brim. Your breath was heavy in your lungs and your hands draped off his shoulders as he pumped his cock into you. He watched you whimper as your body bounced up and down in time with his thrusts, your breasts doing the same in their own dance as he brought a hand to grope them.
Again, his name slipped off your tongue as you gripped his waist, guiding his thrusts lazily. The soft sheets of the bed caressed your skin, his hands grabbed at you, his lips switched between licking, kissing, and speaking into your flesh.
Then, as he braced his arms at either side of your head, he steadied himself with the darkest look in his eyes. You choked on your own breath as his hips snapped into yours, a rough moan forcing from your throat as you grabbed at any skin you could find. His thrusts continued in the same manner, fast and rough as the tip of his cock knocked against the deepest part of you with every thrust.
You were needy, grinding your hips up to meet each powerful thrust as you moaned and whimpered and squeezed your eyes shut, intent on satisfying your desperation for relief.
"Look at you," he sighed. "Beautiful."
You whimpered, especially as his hands slid across your skin and hooked underneath your thighs. pulling them over his shoulders, he held them there as he leaned forward to fold you in half. The new angle sent a whole new array of emotions through you, your entire body tingling at the sensations he filled you with.
"Mmph, Lijah," you gasped.
His thrusts continued; hips snapping, fingers grasping, lips parting against a shuddering breath. "Say it again," he demanded, his voice thick as his words dripped like honey onto your skin.
You didn't respond, your trembling moan squealing in your throat and your eyes squeezing shut, too far away to properly heed his command. He pressed a hand to your cheek, lightly gripping your face and turning you to look at him, noticing the way your eyes droop.
"Come on," he urged darkly. "Say it again. My name. Come on, say it. You can do it." He spoke through heavy breaths and broken groans, bending down to even take your bottom lip between his teeth just to give his mouth something to do as he stared at your fucked out face.
You stuttered it out. "Lijah," you begged. "Elijah, please."
He was weak at your whimpers, his hips jerking slightly in the middle of a particularly rough thrust. "Please what? Tell me what you want, my dear."
Your answer was delayed—and for a moment, he thought he'd fucked you dumb (which was only partially true). "Please, harder. Lemme cum, I needa cum."
He held you tighter, his eagerness to feel you cum around him, your cunt already squeezing him so well, making him crazy. "You want to cum on my cock, dirty girl?"
"Yes!" you exclaimed. "Yes, please, Elijah."
He wanted to prolong this just a little while longer, loving the way you struggled to hold his gaze as the pleasure urged you to squeeze your eyes shut and grip him tighter. He loved the way your arms held his neck, he loved the way your legs twitched on his shoulders, he loved the sounds your cunt made on each impact of his hips, he loved the taste of your skin on his tongue, he loved the way your pussy fluttered around his cock, he loved the way your perfume wafted gently against his face, he loved the way you looked bouncing up and down with each rock of his hips.
His hand snaked between both of your bodies, the stickiness of your body, coming from both the arousal smearing all over your skin and his and the sweat building from the exertion of the pleasure. His thumb found your clit, rubbing circles into the bud with a dexterity that had you moaning loudly. The sensations sparked all along your body, filling you up bit by bit with the heat of his intimacy.
The rhythm of your bodies persisted, working together in perfect harmony, chasing both releases like your lives depended on it. "Elijah," his name fell off your lips like a prayer, praising him like a god meant to be worshiped.
"Again," he breathed, his tone growing darker and darker the closer each of you got to that point of pure ecstasy. "Say my name again."
"Elijah."
"Again."
"Elijah!"
"Say it again."
"Eli–!" You stuttered on the word, your breath catching in your throat as the pleasure suddenly hit you. It exploded in your belly and warmed your whole being as your muscles tightened around him. You moaned and gasped as your cunt clenched down around his pulsing cock, feeling your legs tremble and your breath shudder before kicking into a hyperventilation of a release. His cock twitched inside of you, the squeeze of your cunt too much as he continued to thrust into you, fucking you through your release as your vision went white and your ears rang.
"Fuck, I'm cumming," you announced when your lips could form the word, biting your lip so hard in reaction to your orgasm that you draw blood. A symphony of moaned "yes's" fell from your mouth as you felt the pleasure waning.
Elijah's hips jerked before you felt the hot release of him inside of you, a deep groan scratching in his throat as he buried himself deeply inside of you, as deep as he'd go. He rolled his hips as he came, his breath heavy and filled lust as he let himself succumb to your pleasure.
You whined as his cock pressed against the deepest part of you even after the oversensitivity has taken over and the feeling of him aches so well inside of you. "Elijah," you mewl.
It took a while before you both returned to the ground, easing out of your clouded pleasure. Your breaths mingled as you caught them.
As your hearts slowed and your muscles became so wonderfully loosened, he slipped out of you with a regretful sigh. You laid back against the bed, lazy and spent. His lips captured your own once more, molding in a lax embrace. His mouth slipped down your jaw and toward your neck, placing a kiss there and then easing farther down to your soft shoulder.
He eased off of you, rolling onto his side and pulling an arm over your midsection. He pulled you closer to him, sighing gently as his breath fanned over your skin.
You rolled your head over to him, smiling softly. He returned the smile. "You did wonderfully, my dear," he whispered.
Instead of responding, you leaned over and kissed his soft lips again. "So did you," you said.
You laid there and stared at one another, a longing gaze passing between the both of you as the reality of this being the last night sunk in. He would be gone tomorrow.
Your smile fell slowly and you sighed. "I don't want you to leave."
He smiled sadly. "Will you miss me?"
"I'll miss the mind-blowing sex," you smirked. He chuckled and rolled his eyes, finding it funnier than he probably should have. You laughed with him. As the giggles subsided, you frowned again, nodding. "Yes. I'm gonna miss you."
You stared again. His eyes were so beautiful. That tiny mole on the left side of his cheek was handsome. His chin dimple, alluring. You raised a hand to brush his stubbled face. He covered your hand with his. You kissed him again.
"I'm going to miss you, too."
You licked your bottom lip. You leaned forward. "So let's make this night one to remember."
"Again?" he laughed. "Are you not satisfied?"
You smiled, "Not enough to leave it at that." You kissed his lips once more before wandering down his chest, moving to straddle his body. You kissed down his body as he sighed deeply, a tiny groan leaving his chest. As your lips brushed the delectable space of his V-line, he groaned.

ENJOY!!
*********
You started your day like every other day.
Wake up brush your teeth, take a shower, get dressed, makeup, hair, then out the door. However, this morning you were bombarded with Damon Salvatore laying on your bed causally when you came out with a towel on your body, and one wrapped around your hair. You gave him a silent glare as you picked out your clothes in silence.
Once you’d gotten what you needed out of your closet, you spun around to face him when it became obvious that he wasn’t going away, no matter how much you ignored his presence. You gave him a fake sweet smile that did nothing but amuse the older man.
“How can I help you, Damon?” You asked with a sickeningly sweet tone.
“Have you thought about what I said last night?” He responded, his tone turning serious.
“Why are you doing this Damon? You’ve never cared if I was at the centre of danger before!” You shouted as you walked through your front door after fighting against some witch who came for a doppelganger or more specifically doppelganger blood.
“Because I care okay! Oh yes, I know that’s a shocking concept but I. CARE.” He punctuated with his usual level of sarcasm and sass.
“About Elena yes. Me? Never.” You snarked back with an eye roll.
“Well, I care about you, okay?” He sighed seriously, his usually sarcastic demeanour dropping.
“Why?” You snapped making him close his eyes as if exasperated by this entire situation.
“Because-” He seemed to stop, wondering whether his reason was worth stating but you crossed your arms in a way that said you wouldn’t drop this, so he stared down at you as he walked closer.
“Because...I love you.” He muttered quietly.
“Tell me your joking?” You whispered with wide eyes.
“Oh yeah, this seems like the type of prank I’m fond of, doesn’t it?” He growled in annoyance.
“What is it with you brothers!?” You screamed as you lightly pushed Damon away.
“So, I guess Stefan got here first.” He grumbled like a pouting child.
“What is there to think about, Damon?” You sighed as you stepped away from him, your eyes dropping to the floor as you contemplated how to handle this.
You’d never really been told ‘I love you’ by anyone who seriously meant it and now you had Stefan, who had told you before the fight; and Damon, who had told you after the fight. Oh, and let's not forget the good Mikaelson brothers who seemed to have taken an interest too. How the hell were you supposed to deal with this?
“Well, do you like either of us?” Damon tried with an eye roll to show his frustration.
“Between the Salvatore brothers, the Mikaelson brothers and a witch trying to kill me I haven’t exactly thought about it!” You shouted as you disappeared into the bathroom to change.
You slid on your undies, bra and jeans before realising you hadn’t grabbed your top as you were too busy thinking about how your life was turning out. You knew Klaus had a thing for Caroline as well, so you never really took him seriously until last night while fighting this witch, he jumped in front of a giant flaming ball to save you all the while Elijah hid you behind him.
“I’m not doing this. I’m not Elena and I don’t enjoy being stuck in a love triangle...or a pentagon in this case.” You snapped through the door before wrapping the towel around your bra-covered torso and making your way out of the bathroom to grab your top.
You grabbed the article of clothing ignoring Damon’s eyes on you before rushing back to the bathroom. Once you’d tucked your plain black V-neck t-shirt into your high waisted jeans you exited the bathroom to Damon who was sitting on the end of your bed staring at the floor.
“If you can’t decide then I guess we’ll do it for you.” Damon hissed before speeding out of your room and your apartment before you could even ask what he meant.
You stood there with a frown on your face as you pulled out a pair of socks and started putting them on but once again you were interrupted by a knock on your door. You finished putting your socks on and walked out of your bedroom to answer the apartment door.
You stared at the British vampire with narrowed eyes as she looked at you in confusion, her eyebrow raised as if silently asking what was wrong.
“You’re not here to profess your undying love for me too, are you Bex?” You whispered suspiciously.
“No, definitely not love.” Rebekah snorted as she pushed her way into the apartment without another word.
“So Damon told you?” Rebekah chuckled as she flopped down onto your couch.
“Yeah, and Stefan. All the while your biggest brother protected me from a witch and your other brother took a fireball for me. I feel like I’m in the cheesiest rom-com ever to exist. I have my own Harem.” You sighed dramatically as you flopped down next to her, sinking into the couch as if that would protect you from this entire situation.
“Did you get Bonnie to cast a spell?” She whispered jokingly.
“In what world is this something I would want?” You asked seriously making Rebekah shrug in response.
“To break 4 people's hearts all in one go!” You huffed angrily making her smile sympathetically.
“So...you don’t like any of them?” Rebekah asked with a raised brow.
“I didn’t say that! But I’m not gonna choose one so the others can watch as I have a happy ending with the one I do like!” You snapped as you jumped up from the couch.
“Well, it's better than letting yourself be unhappy just to save these idiots. They all chose to pursue you, that was their choice. Forget about them and do what makes you happy.” She responded with a kind smile on her face.
“Everyone is gonna be unhappy with my choice.” You muttered sadly, your eyes casting down to the floor the fear of your friends hating you was eating away at you.
“So? Why does it matter? Do something for you.” She stated calmly as she stood from the couch.
“Is it really that simple though?” You asked uneasily, your heart pounding a little at the thought of finally pursuing the one person you’d been head over heels for, for months.
“Yeah, it’s really that simple.” She stated as she pulled you into a hug.
You spend the rest of the day with Rebekah, eating waffles and drinking coffee while you watch bad tv. You didn’t know what you’d do without her in your corner to back you up. At least if your friends abandoned you, you’d always have Rebekah.
It was now 4pm and Rebekah was about to leave but before she was out of the door one of her brothers texted her. The text had Rebekah staring at her phone with wide eyes before glancing up at you with a pained look on her face. You frowned as she passed you the phone but once you looked at the words you couldn’t help the scream of frustration that came out of your mouth.
Kol - Why are our dear brothers having dinner with the Salvatores’?
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” You screamed making Rebekah wince at the volume.
“I’ll drive you.” was all Rebekah said as she took out her car keys and started to head out of the apartment.
You slid your boots on, running after her with an angry frown on your face. You couldn’t believe these idiots! What were you, some prize to be won! You glanced at Rebekah who looked rather angry herself, but you knew it was because she, as a woman who fought for woman’s rights back in the twenties, thought this whole thing was barbaric.
She sped to her house which wasn’t far her fingers gripping the steering wheel tightly as she pulled up to the Mikaelson mansion. She got out of the car, followed by you as you both stormed into the house.
You’re glad you had backup because this wasn’t something you wanted to deal with at all, let alone by yourself.
She flung the door open to the dining room rather dramatically. If it was any other day, you’d probably have laughed at her antics but right now all you could see was red. You stared at the four men who were casually eating dinner and sipping glasses of blood.
“What the hell do you wankers think you’re doing!?” Rebekah screeched, her arms crossing over her chest.
“That is not your concern, Rebekah. If you could please leave that would be much appreciated.” Elijah stated politely, making you raise a brow at him.
“It’s definitely my business don’t you think, oh noble one.” You snapped sarcastically as you mirrored Rebekah’s stance.
“I would like to point out I didn’t put this dinner together.” Klaus chuckled as he glanced at Damon and his own brother, snitching on them quite happily.
“Seriously, Elijah? What happened to be a feminist? I guess we can’t just forget you were from a Viking era! Fucking caveman.” You snarled making Elijah look down at the floor, shame taking over his expression.
“What did you think was going to come from this?” You asked seriously.
“We were trying to find a fair way we could all throw our hat in the ring,” Stefan muttered quietly his face covered in shame just like Elijah’s.
“THERE IS NO FUCKING RING! KEEP YOUR FUCKING HATS ASSHOLES!” You snapped.
“That’s exactly what Klaus said you’d say.” Damon scoffed as he glanced over at the hybrid.
“That’s because he listens to me!” You snapped angrily making everyone's eyes snap to Klaus who looked rather proud of himself.
“Him? Seriously!” Damon shouted as he jumped up from his seat at the table.
“I am so not getting into this right now.” You sighed as your caught Klaus’s eyes staring at you curiously, but he kept quiet.
“He’s a fucking monster!” Damon growled angrily.
“She only said he listened Damon. Calm down.” Stefan sighed softly.
“She’s obviously not going to pick one of you nutters. What do ya say, darling?” You heard a mischievous voice chuckled behind you and Rebekah.
“You’re so not funny Kol.” You huffed as you pushed him away from you with a small laugh.
“Well, it’s obviously going to be one of the noble ones.” Kol snorted as he pointed to Stefan and Elijah.
“Ya know what! I’m sick of you ancient bastards assuming you have all the answers, okay, so here we have it!” You shouted as you stormed over to Klaus’s chair and stood behind it.
“SEE!” Damon screamed as he got into a position like he was about to fight anyone who disagreed.
“SHUT UP! Do you even know why I’m picking him? Hmm or do you only care if I picked you? Hmm.” You snarled as you started towards Damon.
“That man over there was abused and betrayed his entire life! Yes, he did some shit but so have ALL of you, so have I. He gifted me things-”
“I gifted you things!” Damon shouted, interrupting you.
“Yes, because I seem like a diamond and Prada kind of girl, don’t I!?” You snapped making his eyes widen.
“What did he gift you? Princess dresses and horses?” Damon snapped right back at you.
“No! He bought me a stuffed wolf, drew a picture of me, he gave me a hand-carved figurine of my favourite tv character and last, but definitely not least, he took my dead mother’s coat to be mended by the best he could find so it would look brand new! But gifts aren't everything Damon! He also listened to me talk for hours about things I like, even though he has no idea what I’m talking about half the time. He drops off coffee and food for me when I’m so busy with college work, I don’t eat or drink. He even brought me a full 2 weeks' worth of grocery shopping with all the things I would usually get. He never once touched me or came into my house without me saying so. The way he looks at me as he draws me doing mundane things, makes me feel so seen and cared for. I am very much in love with him and if you don’t fucking like it, there's the door!” You screamed as Klaus glanced at you in absolute disbelief.
“You see that look right there?” You exclaimed as you looked at him from where you were originally screaming at Damon.
“He’s shocked I chose him. You lot think you have the right to put your hat in the ring but he’s just happy to be around me and before anyone says anything else. It’s been him long before you lot made your feelings for me known.” You chuckled softly as you gave Klaus the sweetest smile you could muster which he returned rather shyly.
“I think it’s time we leave, brother,” Stefan stated as Elijah stared between you and his brother.
“I did not realise you cared for her so much Niklaus. I am sorry to have gotten in the way of that dear brother.” Elijah stated seriously his tone apologetic.
“Congrats on doing what you wanted, Y/N. Can’t wait to be sister in laws!” Rebekah chuckled as she ran out of the room dragging Kol with her.
Once you were alone with Klaus you stared at him from the other side of the dining room table with a soft nervous smile. Your heart was pounding in your chest as he stood up and stride over to you. You barely had a chance to know what was happening but when he took you into his arms holding you like this wasn’t real and it would vanish if he blinked too hard.
“I love you, Niklaus Mikaelson.” You whispered into his ear softly.
He pulled away to look down at you as he cupped the back of your head. His ocean blue eyes staring down at you in amazement. He opened his mouth a few times but for the first time in 1000 years, his words seemed to be failing him.
“I love you too, Y/N Y/L/N.” He whispered as his eyes flickered to your lips.
“Kiss me, Niklaus.” You whispered, clutching his Henley like it was the only thing grounding you.
He leant down, his plush lips pressing against yours so carefully it made your heart pound against your chest as if looking for an escape. His lips were soft and gentle as he kissed you, holding onto you as if you’d disappear at any second.
Once he pulled away you wrapped your arms around him and buried your head in your chest which he returned by holding you as close as he could.
“T-Thank you for loving me.” He whispered into your hair before placing a kiss there.
“I always will. Speaking of we should probably talk about me changing.” You stated softly making him frown.
“I don’t see why you need to change. You look fine the way you are now.” He stated in confusion which had you giggling.
“I meant into a vampire. I don’t wanna be old and wrinkly while you still look hotter than hell itself.” You chuckled and he pulled away from you his eyes widening.
“You’d become a vampire for me?” He asked as if he couldn’t believe it.
“Of course, I would. I’m waiting till I turn 21 though.” You chuckled making him smile down at you with a loving smile.
“Yes, love.” He laughed as you pulled him back in for another hug.
This was the man you loved, no matter what.

Blood Bath

Aunt Flo comes to visit and the noble Elijah stands up to the bitch.

Blood Bath
In these moments, you found immense gratitude for your tub—a deep and spacious clawfoot marvel. Lighting a few candles and introducing some exquisite soap into the water, you crafted a cozy atmosphere within the steamy confines of the bathroom. You were looking forward to a relaxing soak, trying to alleviate your period cramps.
As you waited for the tub to fill you took an edible and poured a glass of wine, hoping the combination of substances would numb your pain. Once in the tub, you let the warmth of the water ease your discomfort. The soft glow of the candles added a calming touch to the simple pleasure of the bath, turning it into a brief escape from the day.
Elijah walked into the bathroom, observing the candlelit scene. "Mind if I join you?" he asked, a warm smile on his face.
"Sure, pull up a seat," you replied, patting the edge of the tub. As he settled on the side, his hand casually dipping into the warm water, you started sharing stories about your day, from the funny moments to the challenges at work.
In the midst of laughter, you flinched; your cramps were particularly bad that day.
He looked concerned. "Are you alright?” He asked, his hand moving to your knee.
“I'm fine, it's just cramps,” you replied, adjusting your position in the tub.
“Anything I can do to help?” He asked, giving you a knowing smirk.
You chuckled. "I don't think you can compel away period cramps, as much as I'd love that superpower."
He grinned. "Well, there's something that might help."
You raised an eyebrow. "And what might that be?"
His response was to pick you up out of the tub. Water splashed in all directions, a mix of laughter and shock escaping you.
"Elijah! What are you doing?" you exclaimed.
"Taking you somewhere more comfortable," he said with a playful smirk. He carried you to his bed, and with a mischievous gleam in his eyes, he threw you onto it. You bounced a little from the impact, a mixture of surprise and amusement evident on your face.
He crawled into bed beside you, the air thick with newfound energy. The candles in the bathroom continued to flicker, casting a soft glow on the scene that unfolded in the bedroom.
He kissed you softly, his hands trailing down your wet, naked body. “Lijah,” you whispered, cupping his face as you returned the kiss. “I'm sorry, I really don't have the energy for sex right now.”
“You don't have to do a thing but lay back,” he said softly. Moving downward, he began trailing kisses down your neck and shoulder. He cupped your breasts and ran his thumb over your nipples, and you let out a quiet moan from the sensation.
You knew exactly where this was going, and you began to rub your thighs together in anticipation. The combination of the wine, weed, and extra hormones in your blood made his every touch more pleasurable than usual. “You don't have to,” you weakly protested, knowing damn well he wanted it even more than you did.
With a devilish glint in his eyes, Elijah continued his exploration of your body. His kisses descended lower, tracing a path of fire along your stomach. As his lips reached the sensitive area between your thighs, you gasped, a jolt of pleasure coursing through you.
The combination of his skilled touch and the heightened sensitivity from your current state had you squirming with desire. His hands pressed into your thighs, spreading your legs wide.
The tip of his tongue gently traced over your clit, causing your hips to react with each movement. Using his thumbs, he spread your folds, maintaining an intense rhythm as he pleasured you. A deep, satisfied groan escaped him, finding pure ecstasy in consuming your blood while nestled between your legs. His dark eyes locked onto yours, gauging how long you'd let him stay this way.
Your body quivered under the pleasure he skillfully crafted, the room filled with the sounds of your soft moans and his contented groans. Elijah's focus was unwavering, his actions deliberate as he brought you to the brink of ecstasy.
As the intensity built, he sensed the subtle shifts in your breathing and the tensing of your muscles. The heat building inside you reached its peak, and you climaxed on his tongue, a wave of pleasure coursing through every inch of your being. The pain and pressure of your cramps instantly unwound and you enjoyed the sweet relief.
Your core pulsed with the aftermath of your intense orgasm and your moans filled the room as you ran your hands through his hair. Elijah responded with a low hum of approval, altering his pace. He shifted his attention, planting kisses on your clit before drawing it into his mouth, sucking on it gently.
A loud gasp escaped your lips, and you propped yourself up on your elbows, captivated by the sight. His cheeks were covered with blood and his vampiric nature was on full display, it was oddly sexy, especially when you observed just how much he was enjoying himself. Your climax began to build for the second time and you collapsed back on to the pillows, your arms draped dramatically over your head and your legs trembling.
"Elijah," you panted, feeling his fingers digging into your thighs at the sound of his name. "Please don't stop.”
His response was a muffled acknowledgement as he continued to consume you, his focus unwavering. Your hands came down to tug on his hair, your toes curling as he flicked his tongue against your clit. The sensations he ignited between your thighs were electrifying, and you surrendered to the pleasure, every worry and ache melting away as your second orgasm hit you.
You let out a long breathy moan, breathing heavily and sinking onto the bed, completely spent. Despite your exhaustion, he persisted in pleasuring you, his tongue moving at an inhuman speed, filling the room with soft, wet slurping noises.
"Elijah, I can't... please," you whimpered, your voice a breathless plea as you sensed the intensity of the pleasure becoming almost overwhelming. You tugged on his hair, your legs shaking uncontrollably.
He responded with a dark determination, his grip on your thighs tightening as he spread them wider. "Just one more," he declared.
Sliding two fingers inside you, he orchestrated a flawless rhythm between his hand and tongue. You attempted to close your legs, overwhelmed by the stimulation, but he forcefully kept them open, pushing your knees up around your waist.
His tongue, lips, and fingers worked in harmony, triggering a potent wave of pleasure. Your body convulsed in ecstasy, and a loud moan broke free as your third orgasm surged through you. Elijah savored each moment, delighting in the sweet taste of your blood as your back arched.
Just when you thought he was finished, he continued his relentless attention, pushing you towards another climax. Your body attempted to retreat from his overwhelming attention, every flick of his tongue making you squirm and squeal.
“Please, Elijah,” you begged, too spent to resist. “No more.”
He responded with a low hum, intensifying his rhythm, determined to draw out every last ounce of pleasure. You were caught in a whirlwind of sensations, pleasure mixed with exhaustion, yet his actions persisted. Elijah's hunger for your pleasure seemed insatiable. Despite your protests, he skillfully brought you to the edge once more, his fingers moving with precision, and his tongue dancing with a rhythm that surpassed human capabilities.
As your fourth climax overwhelmed you, your body twisted in pleasure. Elijah, unwavering in his pursuit, consumed you as if it were the last drop of blood he could ever taste. Your thighs went up like a vice, gripping his head, and a low chuckle escaped him as he forced them back open.
“Pl—” you whimpered as he persisted. You felt on the verge of passing out, your heart racing, and your entire body trembling. The edible you consumed had fully taken effect, leaving you incredibly lightheaded.
“Just one more,” he repeated, his tone a low growl.
You attempted to argue but had lost the ability to speak as he thrust his tongue deep into you. He relentlessly fucked you with his tongue as he let out a soft groan of pleasure. His hands pressed into the back of your thighs, causing your hips to spring up so he could delve deeper inside you. Your legs kicked, and you cried out, attempting to escape the over-stimulation. You begged and pleaded for him to stop, but deep down, you knew you were at his mercy and you loved it.
As Elijah continued his relentless assault, your pleas became desperate whispers, lost in the throes of pleasure and exhaustion. Each movement of his tongue intensified the overwhelming sensation, and you succumbed to your fifth orgasm. You moaned his name with long stretched out syllables, your entire body shaking in pleasure.
Just when you thought you couldn't take any more, he pulled away, a wicked grin on his face. Your body lay limp on the bed, the aftermath of pleasure and weakness coursing through you. Elijah's eyes were black, with gray veins snaking around them, they gleamed with satisfaction as he licked his lips, relishing the taste of your blood.
He moved to hover over you, gazing down at you with a predatory glint in his eyes. As you lay there, breathless and spent, he leaned in, his lips brushing against your ear.
"Such sweet surrender," he whispered, his voice soft and loving.
The room spun as the combined effects of Elijah and the edible took their toll, and you could barely muster a response. Your body still trembled from the intensity of the experience, and the afterglow of pleasure and weakness continued to course through you.
Elijah, with a contented smile, wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, savoring the remnants of your essence. "You taste divine, my love," he murmured.
He leaned down, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead, and then made his way to the bathroom to clean up. He returned with a warm cloth, wiping away the blood and arousal between your legs.
“Now I need another bath,” you chuckled weakly.
Elijah chuckled, "I suppose you've earned it." He helped you up, and you felt a bit wobbly as you stood. Together, you made your way back to the bathroom, where he prepared a fresh bath for you.
As you settled into the clawfoot tub once again, Elijah joined you, the warm water soothing your senses. You leaned against him, enjoying the closeness, feeling the comforting embrace of his strong arms.
"Feeling better?" he asked.
You nodded, letting out a contented sigh. "Definitely better, thanks to you."
He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to the side of your head. "Anytime, my love.”
You let out a chuckle, “Don't pretend like that was all for me,” you teased.
Elijah grinned, his lips brushing against your ear. "Perhaps not all, but seeing you relaxed and happy is a reward in itself."
You playfully swatted his arm, "Smooth talker."
His laughter filled the room, a rich and comforting sound. "Guilty as charged.”

I could not find a gif of him all bloody where he looks actually pleased about it; so I gave up. If you happen to have a good one, please send it my way!
I laughed so hard when I found this gif, I was SO close to using it as the header, just to amuse myself.

If there was one thing Elijah learned during his existence it was that magic could have a vice grip upon its target depending on the spell. Hexs sucked the light and life out of the person they were put upon. Immortality had its consequences that proved time and time again that even an original vampire could be bested with the simplest of spells.
Many forms of magic had been witnessed through the centuries. And while Elijah had his fair share of receiving spells, there was nothing in comparison to the witchcraft his mother had put upon him. Forcing Elijah to completely experience the darkness that laid and waited just beyond the red door locked within his mind.
Since he had awoken, the moments of darkness would come unexpectedly. The monster that lay dormant for so long was eager to play. To sink his teeth into the beauty that surrounded him. To destroy the glimpses of perfect moments that hid who he truly was. A creature that enjoyed the hunt as a sport and the blood that was tasted was the prize.
Elijah had been able to keep his darker self at bay many times. Even with his mother’s spell intact, there was always a way to come out of it before he had done something he regretted. One thing was always for certain, his family had remained protected at all times. At least that was until the darkness consumed him.
The simplest of conversations had triggered the monster within. He and Y/N had been talking about the safety of their family. A plan being put into motion to stop Esther once and for all. But the dormant monster’s interest had been piqued by the blood Elijah’s wife had been cleaning off of her shirt, blood from the last person she pulled a heart from. The clean up triggered the monster that she shouldn’t be hiding who she really was.
The more Y/N spoke to Elijah about her plan, her eyes had been on the towel in her hand as she wiped the last of the blood off. She had missed the way Elijah was beginning to lose his hold on the present. She had missed the way the darkness was so eager to consume him. And when she finally noticed it, it had been too late.
The last thing Elijah had remembered was the way Y/N slowly reached her hand up to his face. His name left her lips softly as she attempted to call him back to her.  The same maneuver she had done several times to keep him there with her. But this time it didn't work. It wasn’t long before Elijah had completely lost control of himself.
Screams filled his ears even in the darkness. The part of Elijah that fought for control could only listen to the destruction that his body was creating. The cries for help may have brought pleasure to the monster currently at play, but to Elijah, he couldn’t even bring himself to begin to think about the damage.
‘Lijah. It’s me. You know me. You’ve known me for centuries.
The familiarity of the voice that played through his ears should have helped. The very voice that had brought him peace was there trying to break through to him. The voice that had been embedded in his mind for centuries. During his times of being daggered it was that voice that helped him through the darkness. Yet at this very moment, he couldn’t grasp onto the hope that the voice held.
You know me, Elijah. I can show you.
The voice was breathless. As if the person speaking was having trouble breathing. And in the darkness that surrounded Elijah, he knew he should be worried. He knew that what was happening wasn’t good. That every fiber of his being should have been fighting to stop what was happening, but nothing he did to gain control worked.
The darkness kept him under. Held him down while he was forced to listen to the sounds that entered through his ears. Even his brain refused to let in the familiarity of the voice that he was currently listening to. The magic within him taunting him.
You should have taken Esther's offer.
I-it’s okay. The sweet voice played through his ears once more. The words cracked slightly and it caused an ache to fill Elijah. One that the monster didn’t or would ever understand. I’m not scared. I promise. It’s n-not your fault if you do this. It’s going to be okay. Just know that I love you.
NO!
It was the first thought that Elijah had been able to force out of the abyss. The one and only thought that begged and pleaded his body not to do this. To not do anything to the voice that had brought him comfort in the darkness. No matter how hard Elijah tried to pull himself out of the darkness, nothing worked. Nothing he tried to keep the voice safe worked.
It wasn’t until the satisfaction of subduing a threat washed over him that he knew he failed. The ache that he felt moments before had lingered, if not grew more with each passing moment. The silence had proved he had lost the comfort of that voice.
Elijah?
The echo of his name registered in his mind some time later. How much time had passed, he was unsure. He had no idea how long he had been held under in the darkness. But he knew that was his name. He knew the familiarity of that voice. He just had to push himself out.
“What happened Elijah?” His sister’s voice. He knew that. He knew Rebekah’s voice. He could hear the panic in her words as he pulled himself closer to the surface.
“It’s Esther’s spell.” Klaus’s voice filled his ears. “I’ve seen this look on him before.”
“Where’s Y/N?” Rebekah asked. Elijah could only assume that Rebekah had been asking Klaus. But the question had brought Elijah closer to the surface than he had been in hours.
“Y/N.” Her name came out as a whisper but it was enough for him to gain the necessary control over his body once more.
He blinked his eyes a few times before the darkness that held onto him so tightly finally let go. The blurred edges of his vision finally clearing and allowed him to focus on his siblings. Klaus had been standing to his left and Rebekah to his right. Both of them had the same worried expressions displayed on their faces.
“Are you and Y/N okay?” Rebekah’s voice was soft. She was trying to keep her voice calm. If Klaus was sure this was the spell, she didn’t need her older brother being triggered once more.
Confusion filled Elijah at her question. He and Y/N had been fine moments ago. They simply had been discussing what steps to take to help get rid of Esther.  What could possibly have happened in the last few minutes that would have caused his siblings to worry as they were?
That was when he caught sight of his blood drenched sleeve. It rested on the arm rest of the chair in the courtyard. He had no memory of ever sitting in that chair let alone how the blood had gotten on him. Dried blood covered his arm and was even caked on his fingers.
The more Elijah had a grip on reality, the more he noticed the smallest of details about himself. Besides the blood that lingered on his sleeve and hand, his face felt dry. No doubt from the blood that currently covered his lips and chin. While his suit may have been dark, a shade of crimson had taken front and center. The white button up ruined by a victim he was unaware of.
“What happened?” Rebekah asked once more.
Elijah shook his head. “I have no idea.”
As he moved to stand, his siblings allowed him the space he needed to do so. Elijah took in his surroundings, looking for any clarification as to what happened. His eyes moved from one place to another, trying to piece the last thing he remembered.
The rest of the courtyard had been left untouched. There was no evidence that there was an altercation of some kind. There were no bodies lingering on the floor somewhere. There was no scent of fresh blood filling his nose to indicate the death he caused had been there.
“Where’s Y/N?” Elijah asked, looking towards his siblings. “She may be able to explain what I cannot.”
Elijah knew that this had been his mother’s doing. He had known that there was something that had caused his mind to blank. But he had no idea how long he had been under or what had caused it. Everything deep within him was telling him something horrible had happened.
“She’s not here.” Klaus noted. “When we arrived, it had just been you.”
“I tried calling her phone.” Rebekah added. “But she left it here. I know she wouldn’t leave you while you were fighting this.” A flash of a memory passed through Elijah’s mind at her words.
“Stay with me.” Y/N’s said as she brought her thumbs up to Elijah’s cheeks. Her thumbs moved over the veins that were forming underneath his eyes. “Elijah.”
Elijah had been fighting it off. He was trying his hardest to stay there with her. To fight the darkness that wanted to consume him. He watched as her hands moved down to his neck in a comforting touch. But the only thing the darkness registered was a threat.
His hand quickly grabbed a hold of her arm and twisted it. As he had done so, a sickening crack played through the air and Y/N cried out in pain before she pulled herself free. He watched as she took a few steps away from him.
In return, Elijah took several steps towards her. The only thing registering in his brain was to get rid of the threat that stood in front of him. Y/N’s eyes filled with fear for the briefest of moments before she turned and ran with him following right behind her.
A gasp left Elijah’s lips as the memory left his mind. The details left him shaking his head in disbelief. He wouldn’t do that to her. Never in his wildest dreams would he ever hurt his wife like that.
“What is it?” Rebekah asked, watching her brother’s face change with his emotions.
“I hurt her.” His voice carried his disbelief and he hadn’t missed the look of shock on his siblings as the words settled within him. He shook his head once more trying to get things straight. “I broke her arm before she ran. She couldn’t get through to me."
An indescribable feeling began to form within Elijah. It was a feeling Elijah had never felt before. It was almost a deep satisfaction mixed in with grief that he knew he shouldn’t be experiencing. Yet it was there in the pit of his chest.
“She got away.” Rebekah was hopeful. “She managed to get away and she’s waiting until you came back to your senses to come home.”
I-it’s okay. I’m not scared. I promise.
The ache in his chest grew as he shook his head. The voice that rang within his ears was part of a memory that he couldn’t force himself out of. He could only hear her voice but not see what happened to her.
“I need to find my wife.” He said before turning and began leaving. Klaus and Rebekah were right on his heels in hopes to find Y/N and to find her completely fine.
It wasn’t long before the Mikaelsons had found themselves in the woods just outside of town. The familiarity of the area alerting Elijah that he had been there earlier that day. Klaus and Rebekah watched their brother as he tried to piece his memory together. Their mother’s spell was doing a number on him in the worst possible way.
The further they ventured into the woods, Klaus tried his best to be hopeful. But he was slowly picking up on how things had gone. Klaus knew what it was like to thrive with the darker sides of vampirism unlike his brother. As thrilling as the kill was, the hunt had been part of the fun.
If Elijah’s darker side had been hunting, Klaus knew there was only so far that Y/N could run before she found herself within his grasp. His sister in law may have been a vampire for centuries and stronger than most, she wasn’t an original. Even she could be killed easily if he or any of his siblings got a hold of her.
The sound of a twig snapping right under Elijah’s foot had snapped another memory through his mind.
With every step Y/N took as she ran, Elijah hadn’t been far from her. He could see the way she ran through the woods. Every fiber of the monster within him enjoying the hunt. But even while a hunter could find the hunt exciting, eventually there needed to be a time where the hunted needed to be caught.
He watched as Y/N steered towards her right before he moved himself to lead her to turn in a different direction. The game plan to keep moving her in the direction he wanted her. Her attempts at running from him would soon be pointless and he’d have her right where he wanted her.
He watched as she occasionally brushed by the branches close to her. Some of them broke while others bent to the force of her passing. He slowed his steps a bit, knowing it would give the moment of peace before he’d pounce.
That was until the slightest tug of a smirk played at his lips the moment he heard voices close by.
The soft late afternoon breeze picked up, allowing the scent of blood to fill the air. It alerted all of them to the strong scent that had been close by. It caused them to turn their attention in the direction of the wind.
“Blood.” Rebekah said out loud. Even though they knew what the scent was before the clarification, it needed to be heard to make sure they were all on the same page.
“Not her’s.” Elijah noted as he looked back towards the direction he had been going moments before. “Two hikers if it is needed to be known. They never saw it coming.”
Klaus looked down at the ground before looking towards his sister. A silent look shared between the two of them. One meant that this may not have the outcome they were hoping for.  While Klaus wasn’t by any means hoping for Y/N’s death, that was all his mind settled on. If the bodies in the distance were any indication his brother had been pulled deep into the darkness that there was no telling what he could have done.
All it took was for Elijah to take a few more steps further into the woods before dread completely filled him. His chest became tight as the ache filled him. His heart knew well before his brain had registered the dark memories that were kept at bay. And with one more step his world had come to a complete stop.
Not too far in front of where he currently stood, his eyes fell to the base of a tree. Just peeking from behind it laid a hand, resting. One that currently rested palm down with the sun catching the ring that took residence on the fourth finger. A ring he had spent months perfecting the band the stone that Y/N loved sat in.
“No.” Elijah’s head shook as he took another step toward the hand. And with every step he took, his mind took the opportunity to torment him with the memories that he couldn't grasp onto until now.
Y/N had been looking just past the tree she had been hiding behind. Her attempts at being still to try and locate him had been pointless. The moment she had stopped, Elijah had her. The brief moments he had with hikers didn’t stop him keeping Y/N exactly where he wanted her.
Her moment of distraction allowed for his opening. Elijah grabbed a hold of her arm and spun her around to face him, pinning her to the tree. Her startled yelp filled his ears and the monster within him had chuckled.
He could see the way her eyes had been taking him in. No doubt taking in the creature that was reveling in death it was causing. He could see the way her eyes held worry for what was happening to him. But the creature within him could see the spark of fear that played within them as well.
“‘Lijah.” He watched as she shook her head slightly. “It’s me. You know me. You’ve known me for centuries.”
From the moment Elijah noticed Y/N’s hand, there was hope that she was okay. While he may not have known what happened to her, he had hoped that she was only knocked out. He hoped he hadn’t hurt her too much and that he would send a lot of time trying to make up for what he may have done to hurt her. But once he reached her, he fell to his knees in front of her.
Her skin had been ashen gray. The dark colored veins that covered her body had been every indication that she wasn’t going to wake up. Y/N hadn’t been like him or his siblings. There wasn’t the possibility of waking up from an attempt at her life. And if that hadn’t been proof enough, her heart laid close by.
Tears filled Elijah’s eyes as he reached for her. His hand gently ran along her cheek as he took in her face. The life and color in her eyes that he loved so much had been gone. Even as he lifted her body into his lap, there was disbelief that even his darker self had been capable of killing the one woman he would never stop fighting for. Yet, she laid lifeless in his hold.
A sob passed his lips as he leaned down and pressed his forehead to her face. There were several emotions playing through him. Guilt, grief, anger at himself and at the monster that laid within him. Anger at his mother for the spell she had placed on him that forced that monster to the surface when he spent centuries trying to keep him at bay.
A gasp left Rebekah’s lips as she and Klaus had come to Elijah’s side. They both had taken in the scene just as Elijah had moments before. grief had instantly flooded the siblings as they watched their brother hold onto his wife.
When Rebekah tried to take a step towards Elijah and Y/N, Klaus pulled her towards him and wrapped his arms around her in a comforting hug. While he knew that Rebekah meant well in wanting to be by their brother’s side, Klaus knew that Elijah needed a moment with his wife without anyone else interfering.
A loud cry of pain rang in Elijah’s ears as it left Y/N’s lips causing her hands to fall to her side. He watched as she looked down to find that he removed his hand from her neck, his other had been shoved into her chest. Her heart was within his grasp as he watched her take in her current situation.
He could feel the way her heart beat within his grasp. How fragile she had become the moment he had his hand in her chest. He had been holding her literal life in his hand and only one movement would bring the threat in his eyes to death.
He watched as Y/N's eyes had filled with tears before they began flowing down her cheeks. He had been studying her reactions. Taking them in as if for a moment as he was fighting himself on what he was doing. But the magic rooted deep within the monster would never allow the man out of the deep to save his beloved. With the simple action of squeezing his hand, another scream filled his ears at the action.
Elijah watched as even though Y/N had been struggling to fight against his hold, the tears that had once been streaming down her face had slowed. The fear that once was in her eyes, vanished almost completely. Her reactions went from surviving to accepting of what was to come.
Elijah shook his head as the memories flooded in. The details that poured into his mind did nothing but fuel the guilt and anger that filled him. Y/N tried everything she could to break through to him. Everything that worked beforehand, she had tried once more.
It was when Elijah had watched as her features changed in his memories that he understood how deep he had been under his mother’s spell. And as the memories continued to play, his hold on Y/N’s body became a little tighter.
Elijah watched as Y/N struggled for a moment more as she tried to gain some control over herself. Her eyes met his as she took a shaky breath.
“I-it’s okay.” Her voice cracked slightly before she groaned from the pain from the slightest movement of his hand. “I’m not scared. I promise. It’s n-not your fault if you do this. It’s going to be okay. Just know that I love you.”
Elijah may have received the message Y/N had been trying to get to him, but that didn’t change what happened. Y/N had known she couldn’t break through to him to get him to stop. The only thing she could do was speak to the man that would come out of the darkness eventually.
“Forgive me.” Elijah said as he looked down at Y/N. Tears had fallen from his cheek and several tear drops had landed on Y/N’s face.
His mother had been hell bent to prove to her children that there was a way to get away from the creatures they had become. She offered each of them a way to start over and each of her children refused, content with their life even if there were centuries of heartache and darkness. None of them would be willing to trade their lives to live within an innocent’s body.
With that refusal, Esther played dirty and Y/N was the necessary means to the witch in order to drive her words home to her children. While it hadn't been directly her doing, it was her spell that left Elijah holding his wife’s body as he cried uncontrollably at what he did.
No amount of apologies that passed his lips could take back the actions he had done. No amount of begging to anything that would listen to bring her back would force life into her. No shaky touch of his fingers along her face or press of his lips to her skin would change the actions the creature within had done.
His blood stained hand held her ashen gray cheek as his thumb ran along the veins that littered her face. “Please forgive me.”
The words had been repeated several times in hopes that some way she’d be able to hear them. He said them more times in the last several minutes than he ever had said them within his existence. Yet, she’d never be able to say the words that he needed to hear.
His heart ached at the thought that she wouldn’t be able to give him the forgiveness that he seeked. Even though she accepted and went into her death with no fear, all while promising it hadn’t been his fault, he felt otherwise. Her blood, and others, were literally on his hands.
With her gone, Elijah knew nothing would be the same. The woman he spent a majority of his existence with had been taken from him. The woman that pulled him from the edge of darkness time and time again would no longer be able to. And that thought alone scared him more than anything.
His eyes moved over his face once more. His mind was trying to picture her in any form other than the ashen gray that took a hold of her. Anything to bring life into her. A way to hold on to her for as long as he can mentally do so. Physically, Elijah knew he could sit there for hours holding on to her, begging for the events to be different, begging for her forgiveness for killing her.
It was what would come after, that scared him. His light within the darkness had been snuffed out. The one person that could always bring him back would no longer be able to. The further into the spell he went, there would be no telling what would happen next.
As his hold on Y/N tightened, clinging onto what he had left, the creature within taunted him. Taunted him with the memories that he wished never happened in the first place. And with each fresh wave of guilt, Elijah was faced with the undeniable truth.
The next time he fell into darkness, there would be no coming back.
