Hob Gadling is literally one of the most interesting characters for me. The subversion of immortality still being so utterly prevalent for him and yet as natural as breathing is stunning and I just adore that no matter what occurs for him he still chooses to LIVE.
Like the fact that it's just so inherently human to want to live and keep living. That this dude who for funsies was like "Ha ha fuck it imma just never die and see what happens" and then he is just given the opportunity and continues??? Even after all of the shit that he's been through??? Just keeps living???
There's so much fucking hope there and it's so refreshing to see. Especially to see that even in times of being absolutely miserable, he still keeps going because it obviously can't be the end for him and there's still so much to see.
It's. Just. So. Human.
I love it. I love it I love it I love it. I love that him and Dream have this relationship built on an interest in why a person would want to live forever. I love that out of anybody it had to be Hob. I love that it was juxtaposed with Death and you see the sides of the coin of mortality.
"No, no, no - You're young. You have the right to explore. You're Black in a country that will try to convince you you ain't shit. You're gay, and your own people may never accept you."
Something I like about Leo is that he’s honestly really chill? It’s easy to remember the moments where he’s being obnoxious or excitable but I feel like most of the time he’s incredibly “go with the flow” and has an overall affable demeanor.
