One Piece Harry Potter AU (Hogwarts Houses) SPOILERS!
Ok ok ok, so first, I'm new to the one piece fandom. I actually have known One Piece for over a decade, and even watched the first chapters (actually, I watched till just the end of Arlong park arc, and maybe I did spoil myself the entire Doffy/Cora/Law backstories because I randomly found out about them and felt in love with the three of them immediately), and I was familiar with some characters, but I wasn't really into it till the live action, and now I'm just obsessed, lol. So just mind this is just my personal headcanon, and I do not intent to force my view of these characters on anyone. Also, SPOILERS, SPOILERS, SPOILERS. Please, refrain from reading if you're not up to date with the manga.
Thing is, I also love Harry Potter, and I was wondering what house some of the characters would be assigned to and this is more or less what I've came up with. Also, since J.K.Rowling confirmed that hybrid houses would kinda be a bit more accurate, I will assign to some characters (most, actually) a mixed house alongside the house I imagine they would be assigned to according to the classical 4 house system. Let's see:
Luffy: Slytherin. "I'm gonna be king of the pirates". Okay boy, we hear you. Also, he won't share his food. Hybrid house: Slytherpuff. I mean, going around doing unintended but still good deeds, his ability to make friends and make people follow him, plus the reciprocal support and loyalty he gives his friends. However, I'm not entirely sure Luffy needs a hybrid house, I feel he's a solid Slytherin, tbh, we know they can also be charismatic and draw people in to follow them. So take the hybrid house with a pinch of salt, I feel Slytherin fits him just right.
Zoro: Hufflepuff. Tbh, it was actually a bit hard for me to choose Zoro's house, I'm not that well acquinted with Zoro, so maybe I'm missing out on this one, but, though he does seems a little Slytherin-like to me, or even Gryffindor (the whole swordman code of honour and all that), Hufflepuff wins this over. He is hardworking and loyal, and he tries to keep things logical (iykyk). Maybe not exactly just, or empathic, but still objective and practical. I feel it does fall into Hufflepuff sense of fairness. Also, Hufflepuffs make a good companion for Slytherins, so him beign Luffy's first mate plays into it. Hybrid house: Slytherpuf. Just like Luffy. "I'm gonna be the best swordman in the world". Say no more. He sure is very hardworking and loyal, but he is also ambitious, and at least as a kid, he was pretty... intense about it XD Heck, even as a teen/young adult he is. However, just like in Luffy's case, I think Zoro would make a solid Hufflepuff.
Nami: Ravenclaw. She's kinda the brains of the group, at least at the begining, and she is quite witty and cunning. I thought about Slytherin because of her being a thief and the cunning aspect of her personality, but it was a bit too obvious for my liking, and I think her personality goes a bit in a different direction when you dig deeper. Hybrid house: Ravendor. I don't know, she just has a Griffindor vibe to me, even if she's a little bit of a "coward" (more like, she's not stupid, tbh), but she did face up to Arlong, and her ambition to save her village all by herself all those years kinda strikes me as a Griffindor; not like a Ravenclaw couldn't do the same (or a Slytherin, she sure had to do a lot of shit when she was part of Arlong's pirates, she was all for gaining her island's freedom at all costs), but there's something in Nami's personality that I find Gryffindor fitting? Hope it's not the ginger bias, lol (although it could be the live action bias). Maybe it's just me, though.
Ussop: Gryffindor. He's kinda the Neville Longbottom of One Piece. I say kinda because both characters are pretty different, but there're undeniable similarities between the two of them. Also, it was stated that you could also be assigned to the house which values you valued the most, and Ussop dream is basically to become a brave pirate captain, so, from that pov, this house fits him like a glove.
Sanji: Gryffindor. That's it. He's a noble knight in shiny armour. He's Gryffindor poster boy. His backstory, how he faces up to his family, but honestly, his entire personality and demeanor and code just scream Gryffindor to me. He's so sweet (more so in the LA) that I was tempted into making him a hybrid with Hufflepuff, but who said Gryffindors can't be sweet? He's a Gryffindor through and through.
Ace: Gryffindor. He feels like a Gryffindor to me. He's a dork, he's brave, he thinks himself a hero, carries himself as such, he's hot-headed, and in the end, that's his downfall. Whatever, I just feel his face would come up first when searching for Griffndor boy in Google.
Coby: Hufflepuff. He's a hard worker and dreams of justice, he's loyal and strong-willed. Plus, he's adorable and a loving child, he's a Hufflepuff u.u Sure, I could make him a hybrid with Gryffindor, as he is brave (he stands against his friend, Luffy, that's part of his arc), but I think most of his personality traits linger strongly on the Hufflepuff side, so I see no need to give him a hybrid house.
Helmeppo: Slytherin. This was so hard, because at the begining he seems to fit the Slytherin stereotype quite a lot, but he does change a lot. And sure, Slytherins can be decent people too (again, to me, going by classic sorting, Luffy is a Slytherin through and through), but there's something else to his character. And that's why... Hybrid house: Slytherpuff. He becomes a very hard-working, just, and loyal individual. Maybe his true nature was hidden behind all that horrible nurturing he got, who knows. He still is at least partially a Slytherin, though (btw, I love him in the la, the actor really made the character stand up).
Garp: Gryffindor. He's mad as a hatter hahahahaha but I love him. He's brave, has a strong feeling of justice, a strict but fair moral code, and he comes up as a bit impulsive. But he has this hero complex going on too, as well as hero guilt (not sure that's a thing, but I hope you get what I mean). Him backing down from becoming an admiral because he believes in freedom and doesn't want to follow orders he already knows he won't like so he can be free to follow a more morally aceptable and chivalric path strikes me as very Gryffindor coded. That sense of justice also strikes me as Hufflepuff-like, but considering the rest of his personality traits, I think Gryffindor suits him best.
Mihawk: Ravenclaw. This was a super tough one. I was so tempted to just throw him into Hufflepuff. Sure, Hufflepuff house values are loyalty, fairness, justice (Doffy knows) and hardwok, but it was said this house would also accept any student that didn't quite fit the other houses, and Jesus, Mihawk was so hard, plus he lives a calm life growing vegetables (smells like a Hufflepuff if you ask me). Problem is, he really doesn't give much of a flying f*ck about anything so... Ravenclaw XD For whatever reason, I do see people from this house being the ones more capable of living an isolated monastery-like life, and that's exactly what Mihawk does, except his life is more of a cementery-like one, plus he has a ghost daughter XD It is also the house that gives me the most "I couldn't care less about politics, you, or your family" vibe out of them all XD Plus, he's a little b*tch with Shanks, not wanting to fight him only because he lost an arm (sure, he appeals to the honour code of a swordman and whatnot, but it still smells fishy to me u.u), and that kinda gives me a Ravenclaw vibe too. Hybrid house: Ravenpuff. Again, he lives calmly, actually acts with honour, kindness and fairness, taking Zoro in and training him, even when he knows Zoro's to become his rival and most probably take his title in a near future; and he values determination, hard work, and fairness in a fight, and again, he grows vegetables, knows how to cook, and enjoys a good wine. That's a Hufflepuff.
Shanks: Gryffindor. He IS a Gryffindor. Golden boy Shanks. I know some people enjoy the idea of him being a Slytherin, and though I do see the appeal of it and it would definitely fit some aspects of his personality (the cunning rat he is), this guy could be a poster boy Gryffindor. His hero complex is also quite obvious (though, truth be told, that burden was bestowed into him since he was a child). His ambition (obvious by his conqueror haki) could play into a Slytherin personality, but it also has a very strong Gryffindor vibe to it. And I said could, yes. Hybrid house: Gryffinpuff. Have you seen him as a kid in the Oro Jackson? How Buggy teased him about being too soft and naive? Sure, Gryffindors can be soft, but kid Shanks is just so Hufflepuff to me. As an adult, his laid-back, goofy, extrovert, affable and charming demeanour also reminds me of a Hufflepuff. Again, people from all four houses can show traits of other houses, there's no clear cut, so Shanks could just be a Gryffindor. But, honestly? I feel he could even be just a Hufflepuff, I would 100% support Hufflepuff Shanks hc too, my sweet alcoholic golden boy (I just don't want his fate to be that of Cedric T_T). Seriously, he IS a Griffindor, but he IS a Hufflepuff too. And that's why I definitely believe this hybrid house suits him the best, it reunites most traits of his personality perfectly.
Buggy: Ravenclaw. I mean, it matches his pretty long hair. Ok, no, but truly, he's a Ravenclaw. He is witty, he is smart, he's creative, he's a showman. His charisma and everything about him, including his goofiness and drastic humor changes, for whatever reason, strike me as Ravenclaw-like. I can think of a charismatic character who belonged to the Ravenclaw house that used his wit and quackery to fool everyone. Plus, as a child he seems to have been more observant and perceptive than Shanks, which makes him seem "wiser" in a weird way; plus he is also very crafty (buggy balls anyone?). He also likes to avoid fighting, be it because he thinks fighting unnnecesary or suicidal, which is quite "clever" of him. True, even in the direst circumstances he gets himself into trouble for not being able to shut his big mouth, but that's just his bombastic personality and caothic nature getting the best of him, he's just a passionate guy, the boy can't help it. Despite what some may think, despite he's egocentric and semi megalomaniac personality, he's also well aware of his weaknesses (I mean, his inferiority complex is quite obvious), and he isn't fond of attention if he hasn't planned for it beforehand. This is obvious by his reaction to all the attention he was attracting after escaping Impel Down, everybody claiming how great he must have been, for he was a former memeber of Roger's crew, a "brother" to Shanks and a close acquaintance of Rayleigh. Yet, he was so shy about it, and reluctant to take in all that attention, till he thought about it and planned a way to take advantage of the situation. A bit delusional, but still a quick-thinking clever guy. Hybrid house: Slytherclaw. Yep, he is also ambitious, and even with his whole inferiority complex and obvious weakness he aspires to be pirate king. He loves treasures and shiny things (actually, this sounds a lot like a magpie, which are close relatives of ravens, and yes I know Ravenclaw's pet is a bronce eagle, but there's still a raven in the name). And again, he is very witty, but also selfish, and he is not beyond abandoning everyone and everything to save his ass. Also, Buggy loves the sea, he would probably like Slytherin common room with its underwater views of the lake and mermaids. It would remind him of the ocean, he would be so happy there (I just want the lil silly clown to be happy u.u). Slytherin is a house associated with water, and we know Buggy was a very good swimer, and he surely loves the sea and the freedom it gives him (by now we all know the real reason why Buggy holds a grudge against Shanks is not exactly sea-related, but I'm pretty sure he still regrets what happened to some extent, though he probably, and rightfully so, blames his dumb self for that). Also, loving the sea, and loving treasure maps, also adds to my Ravenclaw headcanon, because I associate Ravenclaw with the sky, constelations, astronomy, star maps, etc., and to sail you defnitely need to know how to map the sky, and I feel that's something Buggy would be pretty good at, he seems to enjoy maps a lot. So yeah, hybrid house for Buggy, definitely. I think these two houses complement each other very well in Buggy's personality and character, similar to how I really like a hybrid house for Shanks (and they would complement each other so well, being from the exact opposite houses).
Roger: Gryffindor. The King, the Hero, the Legend. I don't know, it just fits him right. He's brave, he is hot-headed, he jumps into the fight without thinking. The way he's praised as a hero, with so many followers with that last stunt he pulled off right before kicking the bucket. That's very Gryffindor of him. Whatever went down in God Valley, why Roger decided to side with the Marine, why he didn't side with Xebec against the Celestial Dragons and World Gobernment, got me thinking. We still don't know what really happened there, I feel like the reason behind Roger's actions could change my mind about his house, but as it is for now, I think Gryffindor fits him good.
Rayleigh: Hufflepuff. He's the calm guy. Sure, he fights, and he's a menace, but what he finally wished for was to live peacefully in a calm island for the rest of his life. He's so chill and also fun, and enjoys a good party. Hufflepuff for the Dark King. Hybrid house: Ravenpuff. I don't know, he just has this "wise" bive to him. Maybe it is because of how he wants to live a calm live as an adult. Also his calm and softer demeanour around Roger. I feel a wise and calm partner would be a good contrast to Roger's Gryffindor personality.
Crocodile: Slytherin. He's a snake. Not a crocodile, but still a reptile. Seriously, he's ambitious, he's maffia boss level, he gotta be Slytherin. Hybrid house: Slytherclaw. He's smart, cunning, and has experience. He manages bussiness with expertise, he just has that ravenclaw vibe to him. Plus, I just find the idea of Buggy and Crocodile being in the same house hilarious. At first sight no one would even phantom these two characters to have anything in common, nor his personalities to be somewhat compatible or similar in any way or form, yet this hybrid house fits them both like a glove.
Doflamingo: Slytherin. I mean... I hope the giant fish bowl that is the common room reminds him of the fashion back home.
Corazón: Hufflepuff. The boy is all heart. He believes in justice (heck, he's a marine), he's good-hearted, golden-hearted even, basically, a cinamon roll. He's also most probably a pretty hard worker, and he risked his integrity for a kid he didn't even know all that well. Also, he's a "trickster", so to speak. He must be a Hufflepuff, no doubt. Hybrid house: Gryffinpuff. He has a lot of the traits of a Gryffindor. You can't deny he's brave. He overcomes trauma as a child, and is willing to revive it and face his brother, spying for the marine, while dealing with Doffy's crazyness, and then he makes the selfless decision to save Law no matter what, at risk of his own life. As I said many times before, I know some traits are shared between houses, and can apppear in members of different houses, but Corazón is definitely at least partially a Gryffindor. This would also explain his betrayal, Hufflepuffs are supposed to be loyal, I'm with Doffy in this one u.u (though I guess he never truly commited treason, as he was never on Doffy's side to begin with, lol).
Law: Ravenclaw. To be honest, a friend convince me of this one, I was so unsure and conflicted about him. But yes, I think Ravenclaw suits him well. His background as the child of doctors, and wanting to follow their parents' steps works out with a Ravenclaw personality. He's knowledge starved, and he's smart and witty, even a bit manipulative. Hybrid house: Slytherclaw. There's no way to avoid Law's ambition for knowledge. He is also quite determined in his path to avenge Corazón and bring down Doflamingo's downfall no matter what. I know determination is more of a Gryffindor and Hufflepuff trait, but it also goes well with Slytherin's desires to get their way, take what they want, and achieve whatever they've set themselves to (which is why Luffy is definitely a Slytherin too).
Aaaand this is all for now, it was already quite long, I may do a second list with the remaining mugiwaras and maybe some other characters I like :)

Note
which zb1 member would be which Disney prince,, I'm curious 🎤
Not cherrie giving me the best questions to answer 💜💜💜 when it’s literally 6am and my insomnia won’t leave me alone 😭
On principle, I find Disney’s portrayal of the princes as very shallow and gender-norm enforcing (i’m sorry I feel very strongly abt this😅) we are not fans so instead I’d probably go for what Disney princess movie fits the vibe of which member when I assign them to princes. I’m also going to be rewriting that movie as I go, sorry in advance to the purists
Pls note I’ve not great at headcanons and indecisive as hell so here we go ~
Jiwoong: The Beast/Prince Adam
If this man could play a Prince in a drama, this is the kind of content I’d pay for
Just like my hogwarts headcanon, man probably invited the sorceress to dinner and asked to be turned into a beast because everyone just liked his face
And he thought he’d be better off if someone liked his personality
Yes he asks for his servants to be turned into furniture for shit and giggles but not like permanently, maybe they all go back to normal at night
reader wonders why he always insist not that they don’t go to the west wing at night. It’s not just the rose but that’s where he and the servants go to like chill and be their human selves (this is getting a little Cupid and psyche lol)
Hao: Prince Eric (The Little Mermaid)
Just the scene of him playing his violin and mer reader listening from a distance
Sometimes they sing along while Hao is playing and Hao is like woah who dat
They probably met as kids and he gave mer reader his old violin because they were curious
Definitely have it displayed in the center of their collection
Wants to be human to hear Hao play more
Hanbin: Prince Charming (Cinderella)
If this man isn’t Prince Charming, idk who is, do not argue with me
Does not have a shoe fetish
Definitely remembers reader’s face, he just wants to return their shoe bruh
And maybe ask reader out idk, not marry them right away
Just imagine dancing with Hanbin to “So this is love” and tell me u aren’t soft
Matthew: Aladdin
For the record, the genie in that lamp would probably be Keita bc he’s been training for 10,000 years (jk)
Watch me cast the whole KTL team (except Hao idk unless we want crossover)
There’s Matthew and there’s Seok Woohyun, don’t tell me he doesn’t think those are two diff people
Just…Matthew singing a Whole New World is a song cover I didn’t think I needed until now pls and thanks
Taerae: Snow White’s Prince
For all the OG Disney fans, you know that one scene where Snow White’s singing by the well and the Prince fucking jump scares her by singing back
Yes that’s Taerae, man will take the opportunity and he has a guitar
yes he will bring the guitar
Once again watch me cast all the Wake One trainees (K+ G) and Junhyeon as the seven dwarves friends who help reader out
Ricky: Prince Naveen (Princess and the Frog)
I’m sorry my eternal headcanon is spoiled Prince Ricky and reader who puts him in his place
Would probably be a bit more sus of this voodoo man turning him into a frog
It’s probably not even a villain, it’s one of the Yuehuaz who happens to know voodoo being like oh you know what would be rlly fucking funny
He gets his whole character development arc and becomes a better young and rich, tall and handsome Prince that’s totally down bad for reader
Gyuvin: Flynn Rider (Rapunzel’s Tangled)
This man steals hearts everywhere he goes (I mean he won every challenge yo)
A lot goofy like they told him during the sleepover, he’s lucky he’s got a nice face
I haven’t got that much for this one
But energy is the same
Gunwook: Captain Shang (Mulan)
He is a leader (class pres/vice pres every year anyone?)
Dude literally takes forever to realize that reader isn’t supposed to be there (literally the en garde hidden cam)
Casting the three other Jellyfish trainees as the soldiers yo
He’s slay “Be a Man” even if I dislike the title of that song, it’s hella catchy
Yujin: Prince Philip (Sleeping Beauty)
He’s a baby YALL pls
Shy, literally just watching reader do their thing in the forest like how this boi literally watched taerae the whole signal song filming (pls see zb1’s bp commentary for red)
He’s not slaying dragons just yet but he be slaying my heart with Noona saranghaeyo
Gives reader an innocent lil peck and they wake up
Maybe it isn’t true loves kiss just yet, more like boy with pure intentions bc literally that’s equally hard to find
Ok thanks for coming to my TED talk and thanks cherrie for this very lovely question. Y’all need to keep asking me more stuff like that very much please and thanks in advance 💜💜💜

NATURE THEMED RECS🌿
Summer’s here, but I’m poor and stuck in the city. So, I wanna rec some fics that make me feel….nature-y. You know what I mean, now let’s go!
Beneath a Big Blue Sky, by eyra (69k)
Sirius and James accidentally find themselves on a Yorkshire farm during lambing season. The farmer’s son thinks that’s a bit annoying, actually.
Eyra needs to be put first on this list, cause they’re most definitely the king of the nature-vibe. Always beautiful descriptions of nature, always. Go read everything they’ve written! You will fall in love with Yorkshire, trust me.
the private kind of purple, by greenscape (6k)
Post-grad summer. They are reaching for things they cannot name.
Or, it's four days out of Hogwarts and Sirius and Remus go wild camping in Scotland.
Beautifully written and slightly angsty—a perfect read for a rainy summer’s day!
How Fragile We Are, Between the Few Good Moments, by emergencymanagement (24k)
By the time it’s dark, there’s a fire crackling before them. The tent is set up. There are two chairs propped up by the fire. They have cooked and eaten dinner, and they are sitting in silence. It reminds Sirius of the dinners at home after he got sorted into Gryffindor, or after his mother found the letters from his friends, or lately, whenever he dares to show his face around the house at all. What lives in that space isn’t actually silence. Silence is absence. This thing that hangs between him and his mother, now between him and Remus, is the presence of something suffocating and cutting. It doesn’t serve as a placeholder for noise, it serves as a punishment. It cleaves him to the bone, flays him until he wants to cry. The soft, knotting feeling in his chest he feels when he wants to let tears out but can’t is rising in him. Sirius doesn’t know how to kill it except to hiss, “Well if you’re mad at me just fucking say so.”
Oh I love this so much!! It’s post-The Prank, and it’s done beautifully. It’s angsty, Remus is angry and the first war is coming ever closer. Also, it’s wonderfully written, making the Welsh nature feel almost dreamlike. It’s beautiful!
Highland Fling [+podfic], by picascribit (38k)
2004: The summer before college, Sirius goes backpacking through Scotland in order to escape his family's expectations. In a small village in the Highlands, an unexpected flirtation turns his whole world upside down. Alternately, the story of how Scotland loves Remus and wants him to be happy.
I read this a loooong time ago, but I still remember how this fic made me wanna visit the Scottish highlands. I also remember that this was a bit too smutty for me back then….perhaps it’s time for a reread.
Harmonicas, Hinky-punks, and Heather, by mblematic (24k)
Sirius and Remus get stranded in Scotland on Order business, and decide to walk to Hogwarts. Featuring the Brontës, a harmonica, a shrinking tent, and some self-discovery.
Once again: camping in Scotland, but this time with absolutely no angst! This fic is sweet and funny through and through!
Out There, by halictus (21k)
Sirius has to go backpacking to fulfill a college graduation requirement. He is comfortable in his own skin, he has friends, he has passions. But he's still learning how to fit himself into loosely-defined spaces. Remus is a graduate student leading the trip. He loves nature, and backpacking, and being outside, and smiling, and having lots of energy. They both have some learning to do—not necessarily tactfully.
Here you have some hiking, but on the other side of the Atlantic! Camping, skinny dipping and thunderstorms—and some strangers to lovers!
The Predatory Wasp, by munacy (23k)
Remus continues, “Alright then...of the survivors...I would marry Wormy.” Peter lets out an elated squeal. “I know for a fact that he can cook really well, he’s quite easygoing, and he’d make a wonderful little spoon for cuddling,” Remus winks cheekily at him. “Recipe for domestic bliss.”
“Aw, Moony, you’re lovely, aren’t you?” says Peter as Sirius mimes throwing up. Remus smiles, then blurts: “And lastly, well, I really want to shag Sirius, for obvious reasons.”
Everyone freezes.
What, Remus thinks faintly, in the ever-loving fuck?
This is so funny, and the nature-vibe immaculate! Features: camping, gay panic, James being lovely, and quite a lot of Walt Whitman poetry.
Go East [+Podfic], by xinasvoice (84k)
Remus has been running for a long time. Eventually, he runs into a strange castle built by a wizard and his young apprentice. The longer he stays, the more secrets he uncovers...and the less he wants to leave.
This is a novel-length adventure story that loosely follows the plot of Howl's Moving Castle. It does not require knowledge of the HMC book or movie to enjoy it.
This features nature of the more magical kind, but oh my does it do it well. The magical world building in this is INCREDIBLE! And the plot??? Amazing! Even if you’ve seen Howl’s Moving Castle, you’ll be surprised. The story is just amazing. Also, if you haven’t already, you really should listen to the Podfic—it’s really really good quality!
Do you have any nature-y fics that I’ve missed? Please rec them to me!!
xx Elliot

I don't know why but the new Hunger Games song 'Can't catch me now' made me think of Rakepick and I wanted to know if you get the same vibe 👀
Hm, hold on, let me listen to it…
youtube
Ok, first of all, this is a pretty dope song. I’d probably hear it sooner or later, but thank you for telling me about it earlier. I really like it ❤
Secondly, to be completely honest, I don’t think Rakepick would come to my mind if you didn’t tell me that… But to be fair, I think it’s mostly because I knew from the start that it’s from the new Hunger Games, and while I didn’t read “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” yet, I did watch some spoiler videos, so I pretty much now the story – and I simply can’t not think of Lucy Gray when I hear this song. On the other hand, I can also see why it does make you think of Rakepick. Because... yeah, it does have the vibes. And you know what? I saw your message when I was in bed already, so I didn’t check the song right away, but I was like: “Hm, Rakepick and Katniss are kinda similar…”. Of course, not quite in personality, but like… the theme? And I say Katniss because, from what I gathered, Katniss and Lucy Gray have that type of similarity, too, so I guess I’m putting them all in one group.
Ok, so I think it’s mainly about the fact that Rakepick is a rebel. Personally, I’d say it’s one of her core characteristics. Remember when we asked Snape about her school years and he was like: “She was a danger to everyone at Hogwarts and the very principle upon which this school was built”? Sure, he was probably being dramatic because he is Snape, but I don’t think he was just being dramatic. Then we had those moments implying that she had a beef with the Ministry, and while she was not disrespectful about Dumbledore, I wouldn’t call her very respectful either. Finally, we have her whole relationship with R – and to be clear, I’m talking about Rakepick’s story before it was ruined by JC.  I mean, let’s take the letter we found in Y4.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me, “final warning” means there were warnings before that one. Moreover, it had to be sent in the past. And where Patty was at the time we found that letter? At Hogwarts, searching for the Cursed Vaults. It actually kinda fits the chorus of the song:
But I'm in the trees, I'm in the breeze My footsteps on the ground You'll see my face in every place But you can't catch me now
There’s just something very “uncatchable” about Rakepick indeed. Also, this idea of being ever-present actually goes along with her role in the story, imo. How she’s being mentioned in Y2 already, how she ties it all together and whatnot.
Also, not directly connected to the song, but you know how the main Hunger Games series is all about Katniss's willingness to sacrifice for Prim?
Tumblr media
I still claim that she was genuine at that moment because it was way too late for any attempts at manipulating MC. And I do think that sacrifice was meant to play a much bigger role in Patty’s story overall.
Finally, one last more random thought. Well, technically two. Katniss is strongly associated with fire, right? Now, tell me “the girl on fire” does not suit Rakepick perfectly. On top of that, a while ago in HPHM, there was that masquerade ball TLSQ. And I thought then that it would be way more interesting if it wasn’t at Hogwarts, and it was Jacob and Rakepick attending the event. I talked about it with my friend, and I kid you not, I even mentioned the dress Katniss had in “Catching fire” while describing what would Patty wear.

Hey congrats on 1k!!
For your lil celebration, i was wondering whether you could do a eddie munson x reader? Like, after his ~near-death encounter~ in the upside-down he starts seeing the ghosts of former students (hogwarts vibes?) and one is the reader. It could be angst or fluff idm.
I think Somewhere Only We Know by Keane from your playlist would be a good fit for it.
Thank you muchly xx
Thank YOU! OH GOD this is such a good premise, and would make for a whole fic rather than soemthing with less than 1k words, but I tried (though there is so much that could be said/written as well to close this off). So, this is more like a snippet that could be continued, and I only managed to incorporate a little bit from the song into this (again, I'd need more words, but it DOES fit the prompt so well, so we'll use it as background song). And it turned out angsty. I was aiming for fluffy, lighthearted, but boy the angst came out. 1k Follower Celebration
-----
Somewhere Only We Know
Things hadn’t been easy for Eddie ever since they’d come back from the Upside Down. Escaped as he liked to put it, because it hadn’t exactly been nice. His scars still told his story, made it clear to him what a close call that had been. He’d even been without a pulse for a short moment, but they’d brought him back. Weeks had passed since he’d been released from hospital, but things weren’t the same as they used to be - and he wasn’t talking about Hawkins.
At first, Eddie thought that he was going crazy, because he could swear that he’d seen Jason around, and Barb as well, but they hadn’t been themselves. Well, how could they, both of them were dead, and that was the point. Eddie had been able to look nearly completely through them, he’d heard Jason talk to himself as well. Eddie had closed his eyes, shaken his head to try and get these pictures out of his head, but when he’d opened his eyes, these ghosts had still been there.
For as long as possible, he’d tried to ignore them, had tried not to freak out because he was seeing ghosts. Yes, it sounded crazy, but after everything he’d experienced, a mirror world of Hawkins that he could reach through a portal, some fucking bats that had torn his body apart, seeing ghosts sounded more and more normal to him. But that didn’t mean that he talked about this with anyone. No, he kept that to himself.
You were the only… one he talked to. Because you simply hadn’t gone away, and by now, you were the one Eddie talked to the most. At first, he’d tried to ignore you, had tried to treat you like all the other ghosts, but you’d kept an eye on him. Even before he’d been able to see you, you’d watched Eddie, because you knew each other. You’d been in school together, but right after your graduation, you’d been in a terrible accident that had cost you your life. After that, you’d found yourself not able to let go, for whatever reason, and you’d stuck to Eddie, rooting for him to graduate a year later. And now you were here this year to root for him as well, cheer him on. Why? Because you’d had a crush on him when you’d still been alive. On the guy with the wild hair, the most interesting music taste, and the kindest smile. Because you’d seen it even before, how much he cared about others, about the people in his club, about his uncle…
At first you hadn’t believed that he was able to see and hear you, but when he’d played the same song on his guitar for the tenth time, you’d spoken up with a ‘Not again!’, which had made him jump. The first moments had been really awkward, because he had tried to ignore you, but you’d been so persistent, until he’d realised just WHO you were. He’d been sitting by Lover’s Lake with his guitar completely lost in thought, his bare feet touching the ground.
You were in the same situation right now. Eddie had packed up his guitar, had driven out here to be alone with you. He was living with Dustin and his Mum at the moment (and Wayne was living there as well), so it was easier to get out and spend some time talking with you here instead of his family asking questions about who he was talking to.
“I just wish I could give you a hug…” he said, focusing his eyes on the guitar, because he didn’t want you to see the sadness in his eyes. “‘Cause I never did that when you were still alive.”
“Eddie…” you said with a sigh, looking over at him, because you wished you would be able to do that as well. Eddie had told you how much your presence meant to him, how important you were to him, but there was something he hadn’t told you yet.
“No, I mean it. I regret a couple things, sure, but that’s what I regret the most.” He was still busy tuning his guitar, or at least pretended to be busy. “I had the biggest crush on you, y/n, and all of a sudden, you were gone, and I didn’t have the chance to tell you. Didn’t have the balls to be honest.”
“You what?” Completely dumbfounded, you got up close to him, not really touching him, not that it was possible at the moment, but so close you were sure you felt the heat radiating off his skin.
“I said what I said.” And he wasn’t ready to repeat it. If only he’d had the guts to tell you two years ago, before you’d left.
“I felt the same way.” You leaned back again, lips pressed together. Of course you wondered if it had made any change if one of you had confessed before you’d died, but in the end, it didn’t matter.
“You’re joking?!” Eddie suddenly looked up, looked at you instead of right through you like everyone else did, and you could have sworn that you felt that look everywhere, which was ridiculous, because you didn’t even have a heartbeat anymore.
“No… Just never thought you’d like someone like me.”
“God, we’re both idiots…”
“Yeah… nothing to change about that anymore.” While it had been lighthearted just a moment ago, the sadness of the whole situation settles in now. If one of you had spoken up, you could have been happy, and now you were here, not even able to touch, though… you’d heard rumours that with enough practice, you were able to touch something, someone maybe even. That meant that there was a tiny chance for you to give him that hug he wished for.

Please sort The Hunger Games characters into HoGwaRtS Houses :
For reference (according wikia)
Hufflepuff : Loyalty and hard working
Gryffindor : Bravery and chivalry
Ravenclaw : Wit and learning
Slytherin : Cunning and ambition
You can include as many characters as you want/can.
And you can give a reason why do you sort that character into that house.
Thank you so much 😊
PS : this is just for fun, if you don't like HP or THG, just ignore this ask 🔥

I actually do like Harry Potter :) and I love the Hunger Games, so I would be happy to participate!
Ok, so I guess I'll start with the characters in the order they appear:
Katniss-Gyrrifindor because she's just got that brave, pure hearted, heroine vibe. The only other house I could see her in would be Hufflepuff, maybe. But then again I think Katniss' foremost trait is bravery, beyond even her loyalty or her hard working nature. Also that whole chivalry thing, if I tweak the idea so that it applies in Katniss' case, I would say that Katniss does have a lot of qualities of the original idea of chivalry. Because the concept of chivalry was developed in the middle ages, as a code of honor for knights to follow. And one of the classic codes of honor was to protect the weak, which Katniss OBVIOUSLY excels at.
Prim-has to be Hufflepuff because she's a classic hufflepuff. She's constantly loyal to Katniss, even when Katniss pulls away from everyone and doesn't explain what she's going through. Also she was selected for the doctor program in D13 when she was just fourteen years old. That girl was HARDWORKING. There's no doubt about it. She's a super hufflepuff.
Gale-I would actually sort him into Ravenclaw, even though he does have a good amount of ambition. He could be Sytherin, especially in the last novel. But I'm working off the idea that the hat sorts people at a young age, before things like war and hardship change them. I always saw his inherent nature as being someone who seeks and searches for knowledge and freedom. I think a lot of his resentment came from the oppression he was born under and the lack of opportunities for betterment. I feel like he would thrive in Ravenclaw.
Effie-I think would be Ravenclaw or Slytherin. She's smart, (she has a specialized degree in architecture) and ambitious so either one would do for her.
Haymitch I would sort into Gryffindor. Definitely. Because in his youth he was extremely brave, (his behavior during his Quarter Quell was pretty admirable, especially in reference to Maysilee Donner) (I would still argue he's brave in his old age, I mean he was willing to go back into the Games during the Quarter Quell to save Peeta's life) and he does some seriously chivalrous things in the books as Katniss and Peeta's mentor. He doesn't allow the Capitol doctors to surgically enhance Katniss after her and Peeta's games (they wanted to give her fake boobs). He tries to protect Katniss and Peeta from the horrors and debaucherie of the Capitol.
Finnick - Gryffindor as well. He's very brave, and despite all he's been through he is actually a chivalrous person. He is one of Peeta's best protectors and friends throughout Mockingjay. He seems to me like a man of action, a lot like Katniss. Jump in feet first and think about the consequences later. All bravery and noble intentions.
Johanna- I'm going Slytherin because it feels like a seriously good fit for her. She's be so happy there. She'd rule the roost quite easily I think.
Peeta- I saved the best for last because, well, its Peeta hello. Anyways, I hope no one vilifies me for this but I honestly think Peeta fits into Slytherin quite nicely. I like how one professor who wrote an explaination of his character described him. He said Peeta was a renaissance man. He is a person with talents and areas of knowledge (painting, baking, speaking to large crowds), he is worldly, more so than Katniss. He automatically figures out the other tributes strategy that puts Katniss off her game before the Quarter Quell (the whole making her uncomfortable and teasing her because she's pure thing). He also is a very good liar, and is great at deception. Like seriously, even Katniss says so in Catching Fire. And let's not forget his subtle manipulations of the audience and of other characters all throughout the books. "She came here with me." "We're madly in love, so feel free to kiss me at any time." "If it weren't for the baby" "Katniss isn't aware of how the rebels are using her image" etc. etc. So he's remarkably cunning. And I also think he's pretty ambitious. He went into the Hunger Games with a plan. To join the FREAKING Careers as a false flag, to gain their trust and then ultimately betray them, in order to save Katniss. The dude is a strategist. But he also has a damn heart of gold. Like he uses his powers for good, not evil and wow that's so hot to me.
But anyways enough of me thirsting over Peeta. Again all these house sorting decisions are all just MY OPINIONS. So nobody come after me because of this Hypothetical situation.
But this was fun <3

🎶🐀 for the ask game 😘
I didn't mean for it to take me this long to get to your ask, but I've been so deep in my play through of Balder's Gate that I did kind of forget time exists and before I knew it several days had passed haha but thank you! 💚
🐀 [Rat] Name three reasons why this WIP is great at being insert genre here.
Hollow also asked me this one, and my answer is still mostly the same, I'm not 100% sure that I know how to answer it 😂 Shrines is a bit of a mix of genres, and if anything it's kind of bad at being any of them. It's primarily a contemporary fantasy, but other than fitting the dictionary definition I don't really think it's a great example of the genre.
🎶 [Notes] Do you have any other WIP related things, like moodboards, character portraits, playlists or similar?
Yes!! I've got a playlist (several actually, but one main one and then some character ones), plus a bunch of extras like a class/event schedule, a spreadsheet with all the students at Hogwarts while Harry attends, plus more spreadsheets for timeline stuff and keeping track of my runes research and all that!
There's a lot of songs that just sort of fit the vibe, but if you listen close in Way Out There you'll hear where my title comes from as well as like overall tone for the whole series. Actually, the Lord Huron songs in particular are where the titles for all 5 fics in the series come from, plus some of the vibes for each - years 3 and 4 are from Until the Night Turns, year 5 is from Meet Me in the Woods, year 6 is in The Yawning Grave, and year 7 is from The World Ender. If you listen to them in order it's kinda like a hint about where the story's gonna go.

"Merlin, I hate this class!”, day 03 of @cursebreakerfarrier ‘s Back to School Challenge
Word count: 550
Hogwarts is going through some changes during Max Avery’s fourth year. (Max uses she/they pronouns.)
Autumn Term of 1995
Max had her head buried in a dusty old book about the history and appliances of different types of antidotes, when Ginny Weasley burst into the dorm in a flurry of robes and frankly, bad vibes.
“I cannot believe that horrid, ugly, old hag!” she bellowed and tossed her bag of books haphazardly on the bed, with its contents tumbling to the floor one after another. Max closed her book and glanced up.
“Some of us are trying to study,” they said with barely contained annoyance.
“Well, I’m terribly sorry, Avery, but Umbridge’s little inquisitors are on some sort of power trip and Gryffindor just lost 70 points over practically nothing!”
“So, this ugly, old hag you mentioned… Umbridge or Parkinson?” Max asked tentatively.
That solicited a laugh out of Ginny, at least. “I did mean Umbridge but works both ways.”
“With you I can never tell,” Max muttered and went back to her book. She had to get the reading done if she ever wanted to start on the essay.
“What are you studying for?” asked Ginny.
“Bloody potions,” Max said. “I haven’t even gotten started on the essay on antidotes yet.”
“I’ve got half a roll, I think,” Ginny said and knelt down to pick her school supplies from the floor. “Ah, here we are,” she said after a brief pause. “No wait, I lied, I only have the title.”
“You wouldn’t want to steal your friend Granger’s notes from last year?”
“You assume she hasn’t taken them home to catalogue alphabetically?”
“Right, I guess I just have to get through this book, then,” Max said in defeat. It wasn’t that she disliked learning about antidotes per se, but Professor Snape truly excelled in giving the most tedious, most dry, most excruciating homework anyone had ever thought of.
“Tell you what,” Ginny continued, getting up from the floor. “Let’s be study buddies.”
“What?”
“C’mon, it’ll be a lot more fun to get through that monstrosity together, besides, I have sweets!”
Max considered it. They weren’t exactly the best of friends with Ginny, in accordance with Max’s whole family being Slytherins and most of them also supporters of You-Know-Who. Things had improved with her dormmates a little this year though. The school had been divided into those who believed Harry Potter and those who didn’t, with Dolores Umbridge reigning supreme over the disbelievers. But Max knew Potter was telling the truth, had heard it from her own father’s mouth, and she had no intention of starting to play the role of the dutiful daughter now, when she never had before.
“Okay,” they said eventually. “But I’ll hold you to those sweets.”
Ginny fished several bags and boxes of Honeyduke’s products from her bedside table’s drawer. “I wouldn’t lie about sweets.”
Ginny handed her a bag of liquorice wands. “You like these, right?”
“They’re alright,” said Max and took the bag. She loved them, in fact.
“Good, let’s get started then, we’ve got a lot to get through.”
Max made room on her bed so Ginny and her copious amounts of sweets and school supplies could fit. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to have female friends that weren’t her sister. Especially if it included not having to deal with Snape’s bloody essays all alone.

The Golden Enclaves - a review
Tumblr media
Spoiler-free summary: The third and final instalment of Novak's "A Deadly Education" series, which to be honest was underwhelming for me. I enjoy the magic system in this series - the idea of good and bad magic sources is an interesting idea which helps to further the central question of the novels "do the ends justify the means". The Scholomance is an interesting take on the "wizard school" trope.
But overall I had issues with the writing of characters specifically - the side characters felt almost non-existent, and the ending really fell apart for me. Maybe I'm just not the target audience, but I enjoyed the first and second books in this series much more than the third one. I would maybe recommend to YA readers who are looking for wizard school alternatives to Harry Potter.
Spoilers from here on out
Okay things I liked first...
The setting: As mentioned in the summary, I really like the idea of the Scholomance. I enjoyed the set up in the previous two books, and I think Novik captures well the feeling of being a teenager in a school where you don't feel you fit in, and where it feels like everything is trying to hurt you. Its a nice counter-point to the way wizard schools (looking at you Hogwarts...) are usually presented and maybe speaks to a certain kind of student.
The magic system: I like the idea of good and bad magic sources, rather than just good or bad spells. The idea that you have to literally expend physical effort in order to generate mana also helps to give the magic a sense of "reality" - you can't just wave a wand in this universe, magic comes with a price , either a price to you (if you're using mana) or a price to someone else (if you're using malia). I thought it was a neat, and not a magic system I had personally seen before
The things I didn't like....
The characters: Okay so all three of the novels are told in first person, as the reader we spend the whole time in El's head so we get a lot of her thoughts and feelings and her view on the world. El is really well characterised, I have a good grasp of her viewpoint, what she thinks and feels. However... the same can't be said for pretty much any of the side characters. The secondary characters just seem really poorly sketched out, aside from their plot-useful abilities I would have a hard time describing or distinguishing El's friends from each other. I even struggle to get a sense of Orion (the leading man) as a character beyond just what El thinks of him or how El interacts with him. I have read other books by Novik and have not noticed this being an issue in the other books I have read of hers, possibly its more noticeable in this book because the cast of characters is ostensibly quite large.
The ending: Major spoilers ahead! So, Novik is setting up this question throughout all three of the books - is it okay get your magic power from bad sources (i.e. killing or hurting others) if you use it for good purposes. Do the magical ends justify the magical means. She doubles down on this question in book 3 by basically bringing in whole-cloth the question from "The ones who walk away from Omelas". El finds out that the enclaves are built by sacrificing one child under the foundations (getting anchorite vibes). The child turns into a horrible monster that goes and eats other wizards etc etc. If you knew that you had to kill this child in order to make an enclave - a safe haven for all the other wizards - would you still do it? El says no, and Novik clearly wants the reader to agree that this is a bad trade. All fine so far
The issue I have with the ending is - the enclaves are built to basically protect wizards and their children from the monsters that attack and try to kill them. We learn that some of the big monsters are created by the process of making an enclave, but it seems like even without the enclaves, there would still be monsters. So, the enclaves are justified initially by this logic - the needs of the many (safe in the enclave) outweigh the needs of the one (the sacrificed child).
But El finds out that there is another way to build enclaves (hooray!), golden enclaves don't need the child sacrifice. Yes they are smaller and not as fancy, but they are sufficient to keep the wizard children safe.
The bit that falls apart for me is this. El finds the scrolls showing her how to build the golden enclaves buried in the school library, presumably lost for a very long time. No one else knows how to make these golden enclaves. I got the impression then that the horrible child sacrifice enclaves were a work-around to try to make an enclave without these missing spells. But El (and the author?) condemn all the other enclave builders as horrible and selfish etc etc, and yes they do things that show they are horrible and selfish, but the novel doesn't really make it seem like the had another choice? There was no other way to make the enclaves prior to El finding the scrolls.
And then, this is the bit I really didn't understand (possibly I missed something?), El says okay well I will build your golden enclaves for you, no more building horrible child sacrifice enclaves. But El is the only wizard that can cast the golden enclave spell? or even kill the monsters that the enclaves are built on in the first place? So what is the long term plan here - if El isn't around they can't build anymore golden enclaves. It sort of feels like the book ends by saying everything okay now because El can make the golden enclaves and kill the major monsters, but the issue she's facing is a systemic one so presumably the same issue will recur when she dies? Just felt like the novel was trying to tie a bow here on the ending and I just didn't feel like it ended nicely.
It also totally misses the point of "The Ones who walk away from Omelas". The question is - would you accept the safety of the enclave, knowing that it is built on the suffering of a child? Or would you walk away and take your chances in the wilds? El's answer is - neither, because she's such a powerful wizard with these special spells, she gets a new third option. Which is fine, except that she spends the whole book talking about how awful the enclaves are for making this choice, when it seems like the third option she has, was not available to anyone else
Anyway, I probably spent longer writing this review/rant than I did actually reading the book. It's not really that bad, I just felt that the ending sort of missed the point of the interesting questions it was asking

Why I love Severus Snape [ A rather long rant]
People have a rather misguided notion over my reasons for falling for Severus Snape's character. They think I am whitewashing him. So, I decided to correct all of their misinterpretations once and for all. So anyone who decides to give their unwanted two cents on why I shouldn't simp Snape while browsing through my account, you are all welcome to read this and then respectfully go to hell.
I don't love Severus Snape because he was a misunderstood noble hero.
Nah! Bleh!
What a thought!
I love Severus Snape because he was a super intelligent, genius brained, lethally loyal, ferally deadly, petty, caustic, acerbic tongued, razor sharp, I-don't-give-a-flying-fuck-bout-anyone-else's-opinion, having a morbid sense of humour, sassy li'l bitch.
There you go.
The utter crystal candid truth for you all Ladies and Gentlemen and everyone else.
I have always been fascinated with complex characters with innumerable layers and Severus Snape falls perfectly into that category. The man is absolutely fascinating and most of his actions throughout the series are so deliciously confounding that it makes me almost salivate. I had always been attracted to him and his entire vampire-ish dressing sense (I could care less for physical unattractiveness). It was somehow weird as he never gave me the vibes of being a totally side plot villain making the protagonist's life miserable. He was more like an unsolved mystery.
A highly volatile chemical compound gaining momentum in the background, ready to explode at the shortest notice.
Snape's highly confusing behaviour had me successfully entranced and guessing as to his motives. Which made me want to read him all the more desperately.
And of course, that razor sharp tongue complete with that sadistic humour just added to his overall persona beautifully. I myself am quite a sarcastic person and I use sarcasm and biting humour to hide a boatload of issues, and a few skeletons in the cupboard. So I relate to him at a personal level which had made me wonder (in the initial books of the series) whether he had something to hide as well.
Another thing I loved about Snape was that he was a startlingly pragmatic character. He was never taken in by Potter's hero status, anyone's sweet behaviour or the usual paraphernalia of the slightly overbearing demeanour of the concocted situations at Hogwarts. His no nonsense attitude appealed to me at a personal level. I have had the misfortune (as might have many of you I am assuming) of working with diabetically sweet people who have nothing but the worst intentions in their minds hidden for you while sprouting honey to your face. I hate it.
I'd rather work with a difficult colleague who has no qualms about telling what he/she thinks about me to my face than a overtly friendly one who back bitches.
And Severus Snape fits that bill perfectly as well. He might have nothing good to say to you on your face but he doesn't seem like a man who would be sweet to you in face and back bitch, ie; unless you are Voldemort (though I highly doubt that he was 'sweet' to you-know-who as well, deferential maybe as an act... but not cute.)
Of course one of the key factors of loving Snape obviously came later in the books where he was revealed to be a Spy for the Order of the Phoenix. I have always loved men in the espionage business. There is something uniquely appealing about them. You have to be fundamentally crooked to be a successful and efficient spy. The thrill and scent of lethal danger has always stuck to Snape's whole persona like a leach ever since he was introduced. And the facts unearthed about him later just solidified the beliefs further. I mean, how can you not admire the man's courage when he routinely engages in a mind battle with the World's most talented Legilimens who also happens to be the foremost terror of every wizard and witch's life, a genocidal maniac who has an obscene fascination with torture, who would never stop to think before killing someone painfully and with powers beyond anyone's comprehension with no compulsion of misusing them for fun if not anything else.
And this man, a child almost in comparison to the wizards who control him like a puppet, faces both of his almighty masters with a distinct lack of the physical expression of fear and laudable control.
His respect, admiration and dare I say affection of sorts for Dumbledore is a mystery to me as well. I mean, given Snape's evident intelligence and pride, he has to know that he is being played by the genial old wizard like a pawn in his elaborate game with Riddle.
Dumbledore trusts Snape implicitly because he knows his reasons, he knows his deepest darkest secrets, he knows that he owns Snape's soul. He can twist and break him, mould and mutilate him to his whims. And hence the absolute trust. Snape knows that he is powerless and helpless at the situation with his present master. He serves Dumbledore even after the Leader of the Light had failed to keep his promise of keeping Lily safe. He trusts him to win the war knowing that he himself will get sacrificed at Harry Potter's altar. Yet he plays on and somehow mysteriously feels a hint of adoration for Albus Dumbledore even though the centenarian has done nothing notable to earn it.
And of course one of the most notable reasons for loving Severus Snape would obviously be his die hard loyalty. How ironic it is for a spy to be so deadly loyal. He has played triple agent for most of his life yet maintained an unfailing loyalty to the memory of a dead woman who once happened to be his childhood friend. A woman who had abandoned him at convenience and jumped into the sack with his worst teenage tormentor. He pledged to protect Harry throughout his life for honouring his mother's memory. For wilfully righting a wrong he had committed.
And here in lies one of the most voraciously and viciously discussed controversies. So it is imminent that I add my two cents as well.
Severus Snape had in his short tragic life filled with adversities of the worse kind, made only one true friend who lasted for an even shorter period of time.
And he had loved her.
Maybe it was romantic, maybe it was platonic but that is not the point.
Love can be expressed in various forms but at its core the emotion remains the same. Severus Snape had loved Lily Evans Potter to the best of his capabilities. And it was due to his love for her that he ultimately changed sides and joined the right side of the war. And why not. Why should his decision be damned by everyone as selfish because he changed sides for love. Isn't that what is the ultimately reason why we do what we do? The love for one person, the love for our families, the entire community as a whole... whatever. Love is love... whoever you express it to. So why should we make an exception for Snape. He might not have thought of the so called greater good but why the heck should he? He might not have even thought about James Potter and their son (and no I don't care.. I would have spat on Potter's dead body while bypassing him).
What has the world even given him except alienation, ostracization, pain and humiliation?
A person cannot be called evil and his reasons cannot be deemed as selfish only because he is not altruistic (which is an individualistic trait and only a paragon of virtue of the highest order can achieve it and also no... the marauders didn't join the light side because they cared for the entire world, they did it because they hated the other side).
Snape's love for Lily has been termed as obsessive and creepy.
Why? Because it was not returned? I mean seriously?
History has borne testimony to the greatest love stories which end up being unrequited. Unrequited love has been told to be the most powerful form of it.
There is one thing I want to stress here.
The consequence of the actions of your lover (requited or not) does not in any capacity define the intention or intensity of your love for him or her.
Anyone who thinks otherwise has to be truly brainless.
So, in accordance, Lily Potter's not returning Severus Snape's feelings (platonic or romantic) does not automatically make his love for her as wrong or impure. He has never forced his feelings on her. He has never forced her to return his feelings. He has never manipulated situations in an attempt to make her fall in love with him. He has never used her weaknesses or someone she loves as means to make her comply with him. [Cue, all the things one James Potter has done canonically]. He has never even told her about his feelings.
Heck the man has never even addressed her with her maiden name, after she had married, harbouring no spite against her while speaking of her in her absence.
So just because Lily didn't choose Snape doesn't automatically make his love for her false and just because she married James doesn't make him true and pure in default. [which is an argument I have sadly come across many times... I mean seriously!!!?]
From when did his love start becoming creepy or obsessive? Where in the world has it been written or even admitted that you cannot love a person who is committed to another? You can't control who you fall in love with or even when to cease loving that person. You can only control your actions towards that person. And I can find no actions that can be used to testify in favour of obsessive behaviour against Snape.
The Patronus you say...
I will give you all an answer.
James Potter's Patronus is a Stag and Lily Potter's Patronus is a doe. They are the male and female versions of the same breed. A stag which can primarily dominate over the doe in means of physical strength and otherwise. Severus Snape's Patronus on the other hand is a doe as well. What I would like to believe is... in this way Snape see's Lily as his equal. A love which primarily focuses on equality. Even if someone doesn't want to interpret this in this way. Would you all agree then to the fact that Harry's Patronus being a Stag directly implies that he is obsessed with his father..? Eh?
And ultimately if his motto was to... fuck... Lily (which is also one of the many insulting motives I see people use to twist Snape's sacrifices and make fun of) how could he have done that precisely.. coz Lily was... dead..? Remember that... what had he thought? He'll fuck her in heaven?
See people might start giving me reasons like he bullied children, took unfair points, was rude and harsh and etc etc.
Please don't.
I like him harsh and rude and arrogant. The man is far more knowledgeable and clever than most of the wizarding community combined. He can afford his arrogance. Not like Lockhart who could only boast and do nothing.
And the unfair points taking.. he did have to maintain a image in front , because of Albus's belief that Voldemort would return and that he would have to have a good explanation ready to get back into the Dark Lord's good graces. Half the Slytherin's parents were Death Eaters. You think they wouldn't have gone back and complained to their parents if they had seen Snape being congenial or fair to the Gryffindor's and other houses.
And personally to Harry... yes he was petty and no I don't care.. plus he had to, again, maintain his hatred filled image for Potter in front of the rest. He could not even pretend to be bad and then be good later in secret, because.. hey.. Voldie's a legilimens.
And sometimes I agree with him taking the points...
Harry is not a very respectful child anyways. He has some major anger management issues to work out for sure. Everyone might not appreciate cheek from students. And that's totally fine.
But coming to the end of my terra sized rant I would like to sign out by giving you all the most important reason why I adore this fundamentally fucked up man (and no, its not cause he was loyal to Lily... I could care less for that... bleh!).
It is because even after being pushed into the darkness. Letting it creep into him, festering like a stale mould inside his soul, all the bitterness and cynicism, agony and humiliation, pain and pride and arrogance aside... Severus Snape had the courage to admit he was wrong. And then immerse himself in the path of redemption to correct his mistakes, atone for his misdeeds. Yes, he was wrong and he made a fucking mistake.. don't we all. But he worked towards correcting it once he was shown the light. He toiled and broke and twisted himself, letting everyone despise him, isolating himself from all comfort and care and walked the path of redemption.
And he achieved it in the end. Whatever the price he paid for selling his soul to the Devil... he was redeemed in the end. We can't know whether he had done more than was required or just as much, but no one can, in their right unbiased and logical mind, say that it was less. It can't be and you all know it.
He bore the Dark Mark on his left forearm, darkness in his soul, wore dark clothes and served a Dark Master for the entirety of his miserable existence and fought for the light, was hated for it till his very end and yet ultimately it was because of him that Harry Potter won the wizarding world the war both times considered.
And he didn't give a flying fuck either ways.
And thus I love him.
Period.
Okay, end of rant. Thanks for coming.

All Day Long
Relationship: Remus x Sirius x Reader (marauders era)
Requested by: anon
‘RemusxReaderxSirius set during their time at hogwarts where they both tease her during the whole day until shes begging them to ruin her?’
Notes: this is only the second time I’ve written remus x reader x Sirius so hope you enjoy!
Warnings: threesome (in an established polyamorous relationship) teasing, edging, use of toys, choking, Dom/sub dynamic (including degradation), double penetration, swearing.
****
Smiling to yourself, you waited in the entrance hall for your boys, all bundled up and ready for hogsmeade, dressed in one of Sirius’s quidditch jerseys and Remus’s scarf. Once you caught sight of them, you hurried over, easily slotting yourself in the middle of them. “Ready to go?” You asked brightly, but Sirius grabbed hold over your elbow, leaning down.
“Before we get going, Remus and I have some rules for you, okay, pup?” You bit your lip, only just clicking onto the dark look in Sirius’s eyes, nodding quickly.
“You’re not to come until we say so, and that will be when we’re back at the castle,” Remus murmured and you nodded again. “Verbal answers, darling,”
“I’m okay with that,” you said softly, eyes flicking between them both.
“Good girl. We will of course, be making it a bit trickier for you, but I’m sure you’ll manage,” Sirius said, before clapping his hands together. “Right then my lovelies, I do believe we need to make a quick visit to Zonko’s,”
***
This was a bad idea. When Sirius said they’d make it ‘a bit trickier’, what he really meant was they’d make it ‘a lot trickier’- damn near impossible. It all started out relatively moderate, with Sirius just resting his hand on your bum while he looked at the displays, giving it the occasional squeeze or pat which went unnoticed by the bustling crowds.
Then Remus flicked his wand and muttered something under his breath and-
You gasped aloud, quickly covering your noise with a gasp. Remus had clearly been practicing his vanishing charms- a vibrator had appeared in your underwear, already in position with part of it inside you, the other part on your clit. He must’ve been hiding it in his pocket, waiting for the right moment. To your relief, the toy didn’t start buzzing straight away, but the knowledge that it was there (and completely out of your control) turned you on. Composing yourself, you waited for Sirius to pay, before the boys guided you to Honeydukes.
As you were browsing the newest range of sweets, remus flicked his wand again, and the toy began buzzing ever so gently, not nearly enough to stimulate you properly, but enough to get you considerably more riled up. You glared at him over your shoulder as you picked out your sweets, before taking them to the till. Just as the lady asked how your day had been, remus changed the setting of the vibe, to a strong pulsing sensation as you hurriedly gave your answer, your knees trembling. The woman talked and talked as she bagged your items and Remus only increased the settings more, smirking with Sirius as he watched you try to remain upright. When the woman finally handed you your purchases, you stumbled over to your boys, biting your lip hard.
“Please,” you whispered desperately. “I’m so close,”
Sirius grinned and steered you out of the shop, an arm around your waist as you stumbled. “That right, pup? Gonna cum from a toy in your knickers, eh?”
You nodded quickly, gripping his hand until... the vibe switched off completely. You looked up to remus now, who was smirking and tutting. “Remember thd rules darling?” He said, almost condescendingly, before leaning down to kiss your cheek. As he pulled away, he muttered “we will not allow you to cum in the middle of the street like a little slut,”
You squeaked in response and nodded before slipping each of your hands into one of theirs. “Do you want to go home, sweetheart?” Remus said gently after a brief bit of wondering- through which he and Sirius had took turns controlling the vibe, bringing you to the edge and dragging you away every few minutes.
“Yes please,” you mumbled, nodding eagerly and looking up at both of them pleasingly. “Please can we go back,”
“Awww, what’s wrong, pet, are you desperate for us? Desperate for us to completely ruin your sweet cunt?” You shivered at Sirius’s crass words but nodded nonetheless, and the three of you began a rather hurried walk back to the castle.
***
Door firmly locked to avoid any unwanted visitors (unlikely, as James, lily and Peter were still in honeydukes while you had been walking back), you were being showered in kisses, pinned against the wall by Sirius as remus transfigured his bed to be a little wider to fit all three of you. When he was finally, finally done, Sirius pulled you over, and you eagerly tossed your coat and scarf aside before remus came up behind you, pressed firmly against your back, grinding his stiff cock against your arse as he switched the vibe on. Sirius grinned, tossing your jumper aside and magicking your jeans away- it seemed he too was getting rather impatient. Remus smirked, unclasping and discarding your bra, until you were bare (save for your knickers as they were holding the toy in place) before them.
“Fuck, princess, you look so good,” remus breathed, kissing your shoulder as your hips rocked in thin air. You whimpered, grabbing at Sirius, who had been gently stroking and pinching your nipples. He smirked slightly.
“What’re you after pup?” He smirked and your eyelids fluttered.
“Your mouth, please, Sirius, on my tits, please,” you begged, pushing your chest out to him and your bum back into remus. Sirius happily complied, suckling gently on one nipple, continuing to fondle the other with his hand. Remus groaned lowly, feeling you squirm back against his cock, and he grunted, trailing his hand up to your throat. You whimpered softly, tipping your head back and resting it against remus’s shoulder. Just as he applied pressure, he flicked his wand, putting the toy on the maximum setting. You keened, the sound a little broken due to the hand around your throat, your eyes wide. “Please!” You whined. “Please, I’m so close, let me cum, remus, please Sirius, please!” You babbled, unable to stop your wriggling hips and trembling thighs.
Sirius released your nipple with a pop and looked over your shoulder at remus, smirking. “I don’t know... what D’you reckon, Moony?” He smirked, and you whimpered, whole body shaking with effort.
“Don’t be cruel, Pads,” remus grinned, holding you up. “I think our girl deserves to come, don’t you? She has behaved exceptionally well, given the circumstances,”
You moaned softly. Pair of utter bastards, dragging this out as long as they could. You dug your nails into Sirius’s arm, whimpering pathetically. Sirius hummed. “Fine. Cum for us, pup,”
He didn’t need to tell you twice. Shaking, screaming and writhing like mad, you came, your hips bucking wildly, hands scrambling to hold onto them both as Remus held you up from behind and Sirius held the toy in place in case you dislodged it.
Moaning lowly, you reached your hand down, the buzzing toy becoming too much. Sirius grinned and removed your knickers and the toy, holding it up to show you as remus pulled you into his lap, shushing you gently. “Look at that, Moons,” Sirius grinned. “Look how wet she made this. Look at the mess you left all over this, puppy,” you whined at his teasing and hid your face in remus’s shoulder. Sirius smiled and came closer.
“We’re both very proud of you, babygirl, you followed the rules so well,” you nodded in response, biting your lip hard. Despite having jusg come, you wanted more, much more, and wriggled your hips absentmindedly, grinding on remus’s cock, while staring at the considerable bulge in Sirius’s jeans.
“What’s up, darling?” Remus cooed. You mumbled into his neck but he lifted your chin. “Use your words,” he instructed and you gulped.
“I-I want your cocks,” you said, trying not to hide your face. “T-together. At the same time,”
Sirius and Remus locked eyes for a moment, both of them inhaling sharply as they felt something primal deep inside. “Do you want one of us in your sweet little cunt, princess?” Remus murmured in your ear.
“And the other in your tight little arse?” Sirius smirked, already reaching for his wand. You gulped and nodded quickly.
“Yes please,” you said eagerly, already scrambling to kneel up. Remus laughed gently.
“Steady on love. C’mere,” he beckoned you to lie on your side, crooking his finger at Sirius to lie facing you.
“Sirius is going to fuck your pussy, aren’t you, Sirius,”
“Hmm,” Sirius grinned, very thankful that magic made undressing so much quicker. You bit your lip hard and palmed his cock as you reached up for a gentle kiss. Sirius soon knocked your hand away, guiding his cock into your dripping cunt. You let out a long, low moan at the feeling of being adequately filled after a day of being on edge.
“There’s a Good pup,” Sirius grunted, grasping your thigh and slinging it over his hip, pulling you closer and fucking you deeper. You let out a whimper, burying your face in his chest as you rocked your hips.
Remus smirked at his two lovers trying (and failing) to hold back. He cleared his throat, pushing your hair out of the way so he could kiss the back of your neck. “I’m going to use a spell to prep your little arsehole, darling,” he murmured into your ear and you nodded eagerly, moaning ‘please’. Remus mumbled something and you squirmed, tensing up and making Sirius groan slightly. Your arse was sufficiently lubed up and, as remus rolled a condom on and pressed the blunt head of his cock to your hole, adequately stretched. He hissed as you clenched slightly, before pushing back against him, taking more and more of him until his was fully inside you.
Both of your boys stopped for a moment, letting you squirm and adjust and get comfortable once more, before you looked up at them frantically. “Please move!” You begged, trying to push back into Remus and forward into Sirius to urge them to move.
“You want us to fuck you, pup?” Sirius groaned. “Want us to pound your holes until you scream?” You nodded desperately, wriggling, squirming.
“Good girl,” remus groaned, grasping onto your hip as he began a slow steady pace. It was a heavy contrast from the brutal rate at which Sirius was fucking your pussy, and your head swam with the sensation. You were just so damn full and you were loving every second of it, a garbled, barely coherent mix of names and curses and praises spilling from your mouth.
Remus grunted and reached over you, pulling on Sirius’s hair, smirking as he growled. “Fucking hell,” Sirius groaned, his eyes rolling back. “So tight, puppy, can feel you squeezing mine and Remus’s cocks,” he praised you and you whined out.
“Please more, please, faster, please!” You whined, arching your back. Sirius and Remus nodded at one another before stopping briefly. You were about to complain, but they began thrusting into you, in sync. While previously they had alternated, reducing you to a whimpering mess, this change of pace had you screaming in ecstasy, the double penetration nigh on doubling your pleasure. “Gonna come!” You moaned out, every muscle in your body tensing before the band snapped and you shattered, coming with lustful cries of their names. Remus groaned, tipping his head back, cock twitching inside of you as he came, and Sirius followed soon after with a shout.
Limp, spent and almost asleep, you withered, trembling with the aftershocks. Groaning, Sirius kissed you hard, praising you, before remus tilted your head for an equally passionate kiss. “Was amazin’” you slurred, well and truly worn out. Remus laughed softly, using magic to clean you all off, summoning a goblet and filling it with water.
“Drink, both of you,” he ordered gently, and you were both happy to comply, as once you had finished, Sirius tugged the blanket over you all, snuggling under the covers with you. You turned to nuzzle into Remus’s chest as Sirius did the same to your back, his arms coming around your waist. You smiled softly as you all exchanged mumbled ‘I love you’s, slipping off into a much needed sleep.

The fashion question back to you! But I want to ask about Indigo and Phoenix. What’s their style? You can include Jacob as well, of course, but if it’d be too much or you don’t have a clear idea for him yet, that’s fine too :)
Also, please, take this question however you wish. You don’t have to make collages or anything – unless you want! Then go for it!
Thank you so much for sending the question back 💖
I didn't have to but, I don't if you ever used it, I spent my early teens on Polyvore day and night making collages and I forgot how fun (and tiring) they are so I made it for each! Polyvore closed years ago, so b4 anyone asks, I did them on Medibang with PNGs from Tumblr.
I focused more on them during Hogwarts years, but I hope to make a post for their fashion as adults.
Indigo's Style
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this isn't half as much as I really wanted represented here xD due to the confinement of the space and png availability. I made one for her more academia side and one for her colorful self.
As general style rule Indigo will avoid anything tight or that shows too much skin, she wants freedom of movement. I'm sure I didn't convey her witchy vibes enough, nor her 70s influence, but soon I'll make another set.
She also doesn't vibe with blue, pink, nor with black. Yeah, no matter how gloomy she's feeling. But her favourites are red, green and orange brown.
Phoenix's Style
Tumblr media
Here, I suffered with the lack of good male clothing pngs and my laziness xD.
Though I focused on his more yellow and neutral side, Phoenix has a passion for the colorful as well, with inspiration from the preppy fifties, with some boldness from the 60s/70s especially with clothes handed down from his late (biological) father.
Anyway, I think I did convey his very cozy good boy vibes, he's milk and honey, breeze on a hot day type of person.
I had been so long staring at screen doing his, my head began hurting, I had to lay down before moving on to Jacob, reason why his has less stuff than the others. Also I don't think I planned the space right 🙈
Jacob's Style
Tumblr media
His collage is the most chaotic but that's pretty resonant with his character, not as much red as I'd like for him nor as punk as his style really is.
You right, I still have very little on my Jacob, but searching trinkets and clothes I actually got inspired x). Anyway, I like to think there's a before and after the vault Jacob in matter of style, I'll say more below, but can get experimental with his style, despite his laziness to put any effort into it.
And I'll talk under the cut just to avoid being huge x)
I don't think I can't explain Indigo's style as whole all at once so I'll divide by her Hogwarts years.
1st
Indigo is trying to drive her image away from Jacob, better yet, her mother is doing it for her, the colors are toned down and very basic, but it's inevitable the resemblance. She spends most of her time in complete or half uniform.
2nd
Now determined to explore the vaults, she invites the 'Jacobness' in, she's purposefully looking for him not just literally but figuratively. She's wearing jackets and shirts he left behind even if they definitely don't fit her right yet. She's got a classic colorful 80s girl style out of class and isn't afraid to call attention to herself. A time to be experimental with her hairdos.
3rd
Starting to develop her own style while being influenced by Rowan, trying to mix her new nerdy side with remnants of her brother.
The year she slowly starts growing, she has her first period, she gains weight, she's well, confused in herself. The colors are a tad toned down in comparison to the previous year. Tho, as the year progresses, since the current curse has to do with fear, she subconsciously seeks in her fashion saturated, happier and bolder colors.
But when she joins the gryffindor quidditch team, it enforces that red, burgundy color palette.
4th
Despite the exercising and duelling training, she continues to gain weight due to stress eating. Lucky for her, she continues getting taller which helps hide some of the weight gain, but her ever changing body does influence in the types of clothes she picks.
Since Rakepick is around now, she wants to be defiant - strong colors, oversized shapes, leather details and footwear, bringing back those Jacob clothes she had.
Also with the start of her friendship with Barnaby and with more of Aspen's influence, she begins wearing more and more plaid patterns to represent her Scottishness.
Another year of fun hairdos, especially considering her approximation to Tonks.
5th
As Rakepick's apprentice she's more and more inclined to dress with confidence.
She's dating Barney and he influences her fashion / As well as spending more time with Rakepick - she adopts the habit of wearing jewelry, a belt for her utilities, a lot more red and green, she begins putting her hair in place.
In the matter of hair, here is where it becomes like I usually draw (or try to), with hormones flourishing as well as her Legilimency, her hair has a growth spurt and becomes very thick and voluminous.
On opposite route to the previous year, she's stress starving, due to pressure because of the Curse and working in kitchens makes her lose her appetite. Therefore she's colder than usual, fluffy coats and a brown leather jacket and a tartan wrap Barnaby gifted her become ever so present in her daily wardrobe.
She's wearing saturated colors but also lots of brown, she associates the color to maturity and is how she wants to appear to her friends and, especially, to Rakepick. Red also becomes prevalent with the feelings of love.
For the first time she's putting actual effort into looking pretty for a boy.
6th
In here Barns has broken up with her for seemingly no reason and this takes a tool on her fashion for most of the year. She's not putting effort at all, dark colors patternless mourning the loss of her relationship as well as the departure of both Rakepick who she was beginning to grown fond of, as well as Jacob.
But with Jacob back around after a while, it's his style she's back at mirroring, tho most clothes she and Phoenix had borrowed had to be returned, she still keeps many he doesn't want anymore or that don't fit his new weight.
Then later, Achilles, whose fashion is similar to Jacob's but closer to what the 90s will bring with a renewed side of punk. She's also trying to make Barnaby jealous with Achilles so a bit more revealing clothes, blacks and strong greens - which doesn't last long since Achilles himself tells her how this isn't her.
Even then, she's not certain who she is.
7th
I'm not sure what will happen this year cause I don't feel like following canon and I've got so many ideas.
But it's a confusing year to her, while things have an air of settling down, the future feels unsettling. While she takes hold of her Legilimency, her self confidence doesn't follow. She's not sure of herself or her purpose and it reflects in her fashion.
Except, this is the year of true reconciliation with Rowan which brings her back those times of their third year, resurfacing with her nerdy academia side, this time with accents of leather and darker colors.
7.1
Yes, she stays another year cause she fails her NEWTS spectacularly.
The year of nostalgia with the golden trio coming along, therefore vintage, 'childish' patterns and styles, also trying to blend into the background because she really doesn't want to be there.
Preference for brown and burgundy, mostly trousers instead of skirts, hats and beanies more often used. And plaid, lots of it.
Phoenix
Phoenix never worried about fashion, he wears what mom buys and that's good. He also grew up with Jacob's hand-me-downs as part of his wardrobe ever since he was a baby, consequently paralleling his brother's style, not to mention always being a few years outdated in relation to the other kids.
But even after Hogwarts, his best friend is Rowen, not popularly known for being a fashion king himself.
Even with growing older, Phoenix is a Veela, naturally beautiful and charming so he often relies on that more than style - even though, sometimes, not even his pretty face can help his dweeb fashion.
What I wasn't able to add to the collage was Ismelda's influence on his style. Not only he has the boldness of dying a strand of his hair turquoise, he begins wearing black!!! Mostly stuff that used to belong to Jacob, but it does start seeping into his fashion slowly the longer he stays with her, though without ever losing his soft essence.
Jacob
Considering Jacob was a teen during the late 70s, he got caught in the beginning of the punk movement, taking inspiration from Vivienne Westwood, Sex Pistols, Blondie, Bowie, and well whatever media he could access at the time.
But also the classics, bell bottoms, weird patterns, bright colors along with plaids, and very funky hair.
After the vault, he loses the body he had along with his confidence, he used to be stocky and reasonably tall, but now he's skinny, cold, and feeling very unsexy. He's opting for dark colors, uninspired combinations, beanies and gloves. Though he doesn't realize straight away, he does use a wrap around his shoulders much like Rakepick does.
Also, even though he's not very sporty, he like sportswear, jerseys, baseball caps, and cool basketball sneakers.

the dead poets at hogwarts: a headcanon from hell
@aedan-mills @charlie-dalton-simp @pretentious-strikes YOU ENCOURAGED THIS BEHAVIOR SO YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES. also i love you a lot but THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT.
also @aedan-mills i found out that some of the wand stuff is related to their birthdays and i am much too lazy to look all that up and figure it all out, but anyone else is welcome to lmao. sorry to disappoint but alas it's summer and i don't want to research that much. but other than that, please listen to me flex my extensive knowledge on harry potter :)
neil (half blood): i'm sorry,,,, can you say gryffindor? this boy would get up there and in a second the sorting hat would have him all figured out: big dreams with the will to pursue them, but not ambitious enough to step over others to achieve said dreams? sounds like a gryffindor to me. i just know he'd thrive at hogwarts, probably going on to play quidditch (def a chaser) and would excel in charms class. as far as pets go, i feel like he'd stay simple and classy with a chill barn owl he'd name after a famous broadway actor. he would kind of be a mix of james and remus, in which he's wild and crazy but still manages to get good grades. the teachers love him simply because they don't know much about him outside of class. he would absolutely LOVE going to hogsmeade and going batshit crazy at zonko's and honeydukes. he'd have a whole phase where he gets addicted to licorice wands and everyone else thinks they're disgusting but he simply cannot buy enough of them. he'd play a bunch of zonko tricks on the rest of the poets, saving the most harsh for charlie and the most wholesome for todd <3
todd (muggle born): ugh see i can see him being both a hufflepuff and a ravenclaw, but my heart says hufflepuff so i'm gonna go with that. he would absolutely HATE the sorting ceremony with a burning passion. getting up in front of everybody only to have a hat judge u??? no thanks. HAHAHA CAN YOU IMAGINE HIM ON A BROOM. i can't either because he would simply never get on one, probably referring to them as "flying death traps" more often than not. "hey todd, you think about joining quidditch?" "no thanks, i'd rather keep my limbs intact ;)". but he would love muggle studies a lot, even if the teacher was boring as hell. snape would scare the hell out of him for sure, resulting in his lowest class being potions. he would excel in classes that are more learning out of the book rather than in practice. for a pet, he'd want something that could not possibly turn on him and would just be sweet and loving, so ima give him a toad :) he'd name it something fancy and british, like nigel or sumn. and because of nigel, he'd love chocolate frogs because hey they're twins!!
fanon knox (pure blood): hogwarts fuck boy. okay well maybe not f boy but like...his favorite part is the fact that this is a co-ed school rather than an all-boys school so he can spy on both genders equally yknow. hmm i get hufflepuff vibes from him because he's a big romantic, sucker for cute relationships, etc. he would enjoy whichever class his current crush is in, although I feel like he'd do well with classes that involved spells and wand work mostly lmao. he'd want a really fucking cute pet, so i'd give him a kneazle (it's like a cat but a bit more lion like). he'd give it a strong sounding name, something german idk. but he'd love the shit out of that kneazle, i can tell you that much. i feel like he'd try out for quidditch his first few years, not make it on, and then make it on to the team around fourth year and somehow end up team captain in seventh (and that proves kids, that you too can have a redemption arc in sports). as far as candy goes, ima say he likes the super sour candy like acid pops n shit. like i feel like the others would dare him to each as much sour candy as he can and then he wouldn't be able to taste for a week. but he'd think it was worth it :)
cameron (muggle born): good god this boy just wants to learn. magic just fascinates him, what with growing up in a big muggle family (bestie he is the weasleys if they were all type a). he's a ravenclaw, no questions asked. he would love classes involving preciseness and attention, things like potions and transfiguration. i feel like he'd have a cute, stable relationship along the way ofc because he deserves so much love and happiness and UGH he's a baby. he'd stick with a lil ginger cat, naming it after one of the famous wizards he's read about. he would love spending christmas at the school and going places when the ground are nearly empty, enjoying the scenery. for candy, he'd go plain and simple with chocolate frogs. can't go wrong with those. he'd still have fun with his friends, but he'd skip a lot of parties for some studying (don't judge, i do it too lmao). would not play quidditch but would enjoy it, end of story.
charlie (pure blood): slytherin. don't dispute it. think the weasley twins but even more flirtatious. he would be a regular at every single party that happened, flirting with the guys and gals shamelessly and drinking butterbeer like it was water. look me in the eye and tell me he would not absolutely fucking HATE GILDEROY LOCKHART WITH EVER FIBER OF HIS BEING. he'd do spot-on impersonations of him though. teacher's worst enemy. like when he walks into class on the first day, every teacher collectively mutters "bloody hell not this kid again". asks the most incredibly stupid questions ("okay but is there a spell to turn my eyebrows green? just the eyebrows though, not my hair"). he would be the most aggressive beater on the slytherin team, though he would never deliberately try to hit someone, just distract the shit out of them ("put the fear of god in them and fate will do the rest"). he'd want a loud, aggressive pet but he'd probably end up with a mean cat that hisses at everyone. he'd give it the most adorable name that just. does not fit the personality. something like priscilla. for candy, he'd take his chance with bertie botts' every flavour beans and just roll with the punches. he's chaotic like that.
pitts (half blood): ASTRONOMY IS HIS JAM. he fucking loves that class. he tutors the entire ravenclaw house in that class. he's the guy that little first years who are terrified of the class go to when they're completely lost and don't understand what's going on. besides that, i feel like he'd just be everyone's cool older brother yknow? like he'd be in charge of helping all the first years figure out where stuff is and giving them advice to help them and stuff. he would be a die-hard quidditch fan although he would not play the sport (maybe recreationally on the weekends and holidays and stuff, but the fact that it's so fucking dangerous just does not appeal to him). he'd like the candy that does tricks and stuff, like fizzing whizbees and stuff. he gives me charlie weasley vibes, where he's hardcore in certain areas (in his case, astronomy) and just flipping chill in anything else. cool older brother vibes, man. it fits.
meeks (half blood): i've said it once and i'll say it again: nonproblematic ginger dumbledore. also a hufflepuff <3 this dude just wants to fucking coast along, getting good grades and not participating in the dumb shit that could probably get him killed (even though he would in a heartbeat if his friends were in danger. duh). he'd be a teacher's favorite, probably having conversations with his favorite teachers during free time. okay ik this isn't technically at school, but i swear to god he would be dumbledore one day. like he would be the chill ass headmaster who gets shit done while also being very la di da life is nice flowers are pretty type of person. that being said, his favorite candy is and has been lemon drops ever since dumbledore got him addicted to them. his favorite classes would be potions (he'd surprisingly get along well with snape) and he'd just be great and mixing shit right and just knowing how much of stuff to add in ("how much powdered root do i add?" "about three and a half shakes." "that's not a measurement, meeks." "*shrug* it works"). he'd stick with his small friend group and love them to death, but he'd be a friend to all really. he'll help anyone that comes to him asking for help with homework (and though he won't admit it, he gets super prideful when it's someone a few years ahead of him).
stick (muggle born): harry potter if harry potter could've been more harry potter. like he would just be a part of everything and end up being part of some prophecy that demands he'd save the world and at first he'd be like HEY i'm just a small boy but then he'd grit his teeth and finesse the shit out of this preventing the end of days stuff. he'd definitely be a gryffindor, and fucking proud of it. he'd be the seeker on the quidditch team because he is so short and small and yeah he'd fucking kill it there. he'd kind of be the shy one no one expected much from, but once he starts absolutely wrecking the shit out of the other houses' quidditch teams, he'd become sorta popular? like people would invite him to parties and stuff and he's too nice to say no, but he'd mostly just hang around the outskirts, saying hi to the other poets if he saw them and mostly talking to chris and ginny (danburry, not weasley). he'd like defense against the dark arts and minerva mcgongiall would become his literal mother i can't explain it. he'd have an owl as a pet and treat it like it was his own child, telling it thank you every time it brought his mail or took his mail. as for candy, he'd like drooble's bubble gum because the bubbles are all magic and shit and i just feel like that would make him so happy <3
chris (pure blood): the older sister lesbian <3 she'd be a sweet hufflepuff who would be friends with everyone while also being the greatest socialite the school has ever seen. you know that party that practically the entire school attended and talked about for months on end? she planned that shit. she'd be like pitts in the respect that she'd help all the first years find their way in the school and in life in general. she's just such a warm and kind person that everyone would love her. she's have a little pink pygmy puff to match ginny's purple one, and she'd give it such a perfect, human name like lila or something. she'd be great at muggle studies and all the teachers would love her. also every one is so invested in her relationship with ginny it's adorable. he favorite candy is acid pops even though they make her eyes water like crazy. she'd make pretty good grades, every once in a while getting one slightly lower than she'd expected, but she always manages to bring them up to her satisfactory level :) she would not play quidditch, but she would go all out to support ginny, even though they're in different houses. that's what i call love, baby.
ginny (half blood): the mom lesbian <3 she's a ravenclaw and also one of the sweetest people in the whole school. while chris helps other with the social aspect, ginny will help anyone in any subject they need help with (she and meeks are a help duo on this). she's quieter and less social than chris, but she's one of the best chasers the ravenclaw quidditch team has ever seen. she'd end up team captain by fifth of sixth year. she'd be like oliver wood in that she is sO invested in the team's success that at sometimes she'll go a bit crazy, but chris is always there to help her put things back into perspective <3. she'd make stellar grades of course, being good friends with all of her teachers. her favorite candy would be the sweetest things like fairy floss. as previously stated, she'd have a purple pygmy puff to match chris's pink one, and she'd also give it an adorable human name like lisa or something. ginny's just sweet to everyone, especially neil and his friends.
I DID IT. IT TOOK FOREVER AND A FEW HAIL MARYS BUT I DID IT. enjoy besties <3 love u all

You wrote your opinions on the Order of the Phoenix, what about the Death Eaters? That's another way of saying Lucius, Bellatrix, and anybody else. I honestly feel that we're running out of HP characters for you to write your opinion and reasoning about, so yeah~
We honestly are. When people start asking me questions about Harry’s nameless and faceless classmates I feel like we’re scraping the bottom of my barrel of Harry Potter opinions.
Though, that said, this is still a very large ask if you want me to analyze very Death Eater ever or even the Death Eaters as a whole (which is worthy of its own post).
So, we’ll compromise, and I’ll just look at the two you name dropped.
Lucius Malfoy
To me, Lucius is by far one of the more intelligent Death Eaters. He’s the guy who makes them almost look classy. I say almost, because Lucius is still a racist domestic terrorist and as the series goes on Tom gleefully drags him into being less classy by the minute (his house becomes a POW camp and housing for the dregs of society, Lucius just sobs, trying to be thankful he’s somehow still alive).
Lucius is rich, sophisticated, and is probably the most politically powerful man in the country. He has a beautiful wife he has... a son (sorry Draco, but you do not live up to your father) the guy has it all.
Which makes it very surprising that he got dragged into this mess. But you see, Lucius is paying for that tragedy we call youth.
Also, as a caveat, I’m about to headcanon hard and will not bother to get into the details of why I think x, y, or z in this post.
Ten years prior to the start of canon, Lucius is a very young man, probably very charismatic, certainly believes he’s intelligent and probably gets decent grades, but nonetheless the kind of stupid you see in men ages 15-25.
He’s likely chafing under his aging father’s strict guidance, knows he’s not going to be Lord Malfoy for years yet, wants to get out there, prove himself, and make a difference for his country. More importantly for Lucius, there’s this hip, exciting, new thing that all his cousins and friends are getting into called “The Death Eaters” (yes, I don’t believe the Knights of Walpurgis/Death Eaters 1.0 ever happened, I think it’s ridiculous that fandom and JKR does, I could go into why but not in this post).
The Death Eaters are led by the single handedly most beautiful, charismatic, man in Britain. (Yes, I headcanon Tom’s still blindingly attractive at this stage, because it makes much more sense to me but we’re not getting into that here.) A mysterious man by the name of Voldemort, Salazar Slytherin’s long lost heir, who has come to resurrect the wizarding world’s true heritage and purge the land of the muggle stain. (Yes, I do believe that no one, not even Lucius who is later given the diary, knew who Tom really was. I believe Regulus’ had only the vaguest idea, informed mostly by Tom’s use of Kreacher to place the locket.) This is the most exciting thing to have ever happened, the rallies probably consist of rich kids drunk out of their minds and maybe even high on a little wizard cocaine, and Lucius is down for it precisely because his father says “Lucius, this is stupid, please don’t embarrass the family.” WELL LUCIUS IS GOING TO EMBARRASS THE FAMILY, DAD! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?!
And for a while, it looks like Lucius made the right choice. Things are happening, they’re actually going out and killing the mudbloods! Unlike Regulus, Lucius never has that “wait a minute” moment as he realizes that Voldemort’s actually far more efficiently eliminating pureblood families and sowing dissention in what was once a unanimous force among the Wizengamot (the other pureblood lords aren’t necessarily pro muggleborn, per se, but they get a bit queasy at the thought of blowing them up or Merlin forbid actually blowing up their own public venues wizards use).
And then October 31st, 1981 happens, and it all comes crashing down. Lucius has to desperately lie his ass off, having only the flimsiest lie to rely on, has to hand out a shit ton of bribes, and manages to squeeze his way out of being imprisoned in Azkaban.
I’m sure Abraxas looked at his son, with his tattoo on his arm that makes him another man’s slave, at the utter destruction of the Black family, and just shook his head going, “Clean up your mess, Dumbass Son”
And Lucius does to the best of his ability. While some will always suspect him of being a Death Eater, while some know it, he’s able to climb very high in influence in their ridiculously tiny community. Granted, I do think he messed up, and could never for example run for minister given everything (if Crouch can’t rerun then Lucius certainly can’t). He also shows us that in some ways he is not above the law, he’s very afraid his house will be searched without warrant in The Chamber of Secrets, and this is in part why he dumps Tom Riddle’s diary off onto Ginny.
However, he wields total control of the Prophet, has a seat on the Wizengamot, has the ear of the current Minister, is on the Hogwarts’ Board of Governors, and has his hands in pretty much every pie he can.
I imagine during this period Lucius grows up. He brushes the indiscretions of his youth under the carpet, gleefully leaving it all behind him, and the only real friend he maintains contact with from that period is Severus, the least zealot like of all of them. (Crabbe and Goyle Sr aren’t friends, they’re minions).
Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a racist slime bag, and I don’t think he really regrets the domestic terrorism. He just regrets nearly getting caught and putting his entire family’s security on the line. He witnessed first hand what happened to the Blacks.
And then the worst thing happens: Tom Riddle rises from the dead. He rises, impossibly, from the dead when Lucius has his own hand caught in the cookie jar.
Lucius has been living a life of luxury and influence while his great master, the man he had pledged everything to, was dead. Worse, Lucius took what was described as a treasured item to be protected at all costs, and not only threw it away but sent it to Hogwarts where it caused massive havoc and was ultimately destroyed.
And Lucius, I imagine, no longer wants to serve a master.
But he has no choice. And so begins Lucius’ descent into misery and hell as he’s given an increasing set of impossible, horrific, tasks in punishment that involve him watching as his wife and son are put through hell.
I believe Tom holds a special place in his cold, black, passive aggressive heart for Lucius Malfoy.
First, Tom makes Lucius’ house his headquarters. Oh, Lucius, you have a very nice, very large, estate? Why don’t you host your beloved, mad, cousin, her equally mad husband and brother-in-law? Oh, Bellatrix threatened to cut off your ear? Well, she’s just so passionate!
Second, Lucius is told to go get the prophecy. Well, this is easier said than done. He nearly succeeds but then it all turns into the world’s largest clusterfuck that ends in two notable things. First, the prophecy is lost forever, shattered. Second, the government admits that Voldemort is truly resurrected. Both of these things are very bad in Tom’s book. And the blame can easily be put on Lucius’ head.
In response to this, Draco is now given an impossible task that Draco is too stupid to realize is designed to cause him (and his family) as much misery as possible. Draco is to assassinate Dumbledore.
Likely, Tom was already informed by Snape that Dumbledore was dying. The blackened hand was too obvious a tell coming from too obvious a source for the pair to have hid it. I think trying to hide such information would have immediately blown Snape’s cover. So, Tom knows the man is dying, and doesn’t see fit to tell Draco this.
Instead, he tells Draco, “Kill Dumbledore as soon as possible or I deliver you to Fenrir Grayback.” Draco, however, is young and stupid, so he honestly thinks he is doing this to restore the family honor, earn glory for himself and for the cause, and is expected to do this entirely by himself. As a result, when Narcissa begs Snape to aid Draco, Draco blows them both off and only accepts help from Bellatrix because HE CAN DO THIS ON HIS OWN! DRACO IS A MAN.
This, of course, doesn’t work out either. Draco doesn’t deliver the killing blow, Snape does, but Tom decides to give him a pass.
Instead he moves on to his next plan which is making the Malfoy manor his torture chamber and POW camp. Even Draco, at this point, realizes this all kind of sucks.
And then Voldemort finally dies a second time, and I’m sure Lucius just stares numbly at his malformed corpse, wondering if it will really take this time.
So that’s Lucius for you, paying always for his mistakes, and pretending he’s just as much of a nutcase as Bellatrix to fit in.
Bellatrix LeStrange
God, compared to the novel that is Lucius’ ridiculous life, I really don’t have much to say about her because I feel like there’s not much too her.
Bellatrix reminds me a lot of the Manson family, she gives off those same vibes. Point being, I think even before Azkaban (while Azkaban certainly didn’t help), she was insane and a little too worshipful of Voldemort.
I guess I can start there, I don’t think Bellamort is a thing, at all.
Tom may have, probably did, have sex with her before he died but afterwards? In that body? Forget about it.
That said, I’m sure Bellatrix both wanted to have sex and is convinced she did have sex to produce whatever the hell Delphi even is. It just wasn’t with Tom, and probably was Rodolphous with a Halloween mask on his face as they got a little too into role play.
And there we go, I suppose, I can’t take Bellatrix seriously. You often see her portrayed as sexy femme fatale Death Eater, the most competent of all of them, if a bit of a sadist.
Oh she might be a very good duelist but she’s... Bellatrix.
She prances around in corsets, shrieking madly, and just what part of that is supposed to be femme fatale? I literally cannot take her seriously on any level. When I even try to write her seriously, in very serious stories, I end up with lines like the following:
"My lord, if there's anything you need… Anything from me, specifically, as a woman…"
- Bright Eyes
That was my best attempt. That was the best I could come up with. It’s still something that belongs in a comedy.
So, I don’t think Tom really corrupted her. I think without Voldemort she still probably would have been blowing up Diagon Alley, just in a much less organized manner.
Even in canon she does ridiculous things. For example, Bellatrix, frankly, could have easily avoided prison.
For weeks after the dark lord fell neither she, her husband, Barty, nor her brother-in-law were arrested. Bellatrix in grief and utter disbelief that the dark lord could ever do something so mortal as die, said “remember that other house our lord mentioned, THEY MIGHT HAVE INFORMATION, LET’S GO MURDER THE LONGBOTTOMS!” They torture and kidnap Frank, demanding he tell them where their master is, THEY KNOW HE KNOWS. He doesn’t know. They go too far and torture the man into being a vegetable. “Shit, GET THE WIFE!” They go get the wife, do the same thing, with the same results.
They now have no information on the dark lord, two well regarded aurors tortured into brain damage, and are quickly caught and brought before the court with absolutely no “I was imperiused” excuse they can give out.
How am I supposed to take her in any way seriously?
I mean, to end your life killed in a duel with Molly Weasley. That just says it all.

What I Think About Some Canon and Fanon Ships!!
Canon:
Romione (ron x hermione): Cute!! they have been through so much together and just fit together. Their fans are also really nice and pure (except for some Lavender haters)!! I do have different characters that I ship with them more (fanonically) but for canon, they are really good together!! 8.5/10
Hinny (ginny x harry): Meh.....not my most favorite ship ever but still pretty cute.....I think it was just kinda too stereotypical (his best friend’s sister has a crush on him) blah, blah, blah! I think it would’ve been better if Ginny was just more confident and independent (like she was in the books) but overall it’s a pretty decent ship. 6.5/10
Remadora (tonks x remus) : Pretty good but I ship wolfstar!! I honesty think Tonks was lesbian or aroace or something like that, and Remus was prolly bi/gay. It still was a cute ship and we got Teddy Lupin out of it, so no complaints there. I wish it would've been developed more because it didn't have the best storyline/backstory. Overall a pretty good ship tho! 6.8/10
Bleur (fleur x bill): I really liked this ship!! Especially how Fleur said the whole line after Bill became a werewolf (cuz that was perfection)! I'm kinda sad we don't get to see a lot of this ship in the books/movies but it's still great! 9/10
Charry (cho x harry): One of my least favorite canon ships tbh......cho wasn't (emotionally) in the best place after Cedric's death so I have no idea why she would want another relationship so fast!! also, she was quite jealous and untrustworthy of harry (after the whole harry/hermione debacle) which isn't the best thing to be in a relationship....3.9/10
Voldytrix (voldemort x bellatrix): ugghhh yuckkkkk.....this is like one of the main reasons I hated the book cursed child....also, voldy-moldy had no "heart" so he couldn't "love" and Bellatrix only "loved" him not her own husband.....this ship was kinda just one-sided so was just a horrible ship.....why was this even a thing?! -∞/10
Deanevra (dean x ginny): I think this was a pretty cute ship while it lasted. The only thing that was kinda weird was how they broke up......ginny broke up with him because he was helping her get through a door....it kinda looked like j.k.rowling (who I do not support btw) was trying to make it misogynistic but it just ended up weird...nonetheless, it was a nice ship while it lasted. 7/10
Jily (james x lily): This is one of the best canon ships out there, everyone knows that.....the only thing I really didn't like about this ship was how James kept pursuing Lily, even when she said no......it's supposed to be romantic but it kinda edges the line of harassment.....and James was a bully soooooo......but I liked the ship when they were out of Hogwarts....then it was cute and pureeee!! 8.3/10
Marthur (molly x arthur): this ship is freaking awesome!!! it really highlights was a good parent should be to their children (not all the time tho.......*hint, hint*, percyyyy) overall a 9.1/10
now for Fanon
Perciver (Percy x Oliver): THIS IS MY FAVORITE SHIP OF ALL TIME!! and it has sooo much potential!! it could be enemies to lovers, jock x nerd, muggle au, fake dating, friends to lovers, soulmates, there was only one bed, etc.....and omgtheywereroomatesssss.....they probably aren't the very most affectionate in person but just by themselves they are!! overall, I think they compliment each other very well and are just two adorkable boys!! ∞/10
Deamus (seamus x dean): such a pure ship oml.....I think it would've taken some time for them to realize they were bi/gay/queer and liked boys, but when they did, they would be really affectionate and stuff 10/10
Linny (Luna x Ginny): such a pure ship too!! this gives me jock x nerd vibes kinda like percy and Oliver, and is probably such a cute ship. I doubt they would be overly affectionate like deamus but probably would be more affectionate then perciver. I think this would be the start of ginny's bisexual days 8.9/10
Rarry (Ron x Harry): kinda like a friends to lovers thing going on!! I think they would compliment each other very well (even tho they had their differences) and would be a great ship!! 8.7/10
Dramione (Draco x Hermione): No, just no. I don't think I would want by bully to be my boyfriend/crush unless he completely changed himself (which I do not think Draco did)......so no.....but it's better than like Snamione/Snarry/Sneville 1.2/10
Snamione (Snape x Hermione): No again. He bullied her a lot, and was like 2-3 times her age (I get that some people like that thing but I don't so sorry) so nooo 0.9/10
Snarry (Harry x Snape): he bullied him even more than he bullied Hermione....not my ship so sorry about that 0.5/10
Sneville (Neville x Snape): No, no, no, no!! no way.....Snape bullied Neville the fucking most out of everyone else and Neville was deathly afraid of Snape (Snape was his boggart in 3rd year) so no 0.1/10
Percivercus (Marcus x Oliver x Percy): finally!! a poly ship!! I think ship would be really cute cuz it has friends to lovers and enemies to lovers all in one!! it has lots of potential, much like perciver, so cute ship!! I think this is a really good poly ship and I rate it 9.5/10
Dreville (Neville x Draco): eh....I’m not really sure how to feel about this....if Draco is the same brat he was at school then it’s a big fat no, if he’s “redeemed” or trying to, then maybe? It’s better than Drarry and Dramione, at least. 4.3/10
Wolfstar (Remus x Sirius): Absolute beauty of a ship. It’s probably my 2 or 3rd most favorite fanon ship! they really complement each other and are just so cute!! Though it must’ve hurt for Remus when he thought/realized Sirius was a spy (cuz he didn’t have all the facts)!! 9.1/10
I’ll post the rest later because I’m bored so if you have more ships u want me to react to ig, just reply/reblog!! Byeee! Have a good day/night!!
@pluto-the-planet1 wanted me to do pavender (Parvati x lavender) so here you go!! pavender is so cute!! just two lesbians being queens! I literally love them, so adorableee! and I love reading fics about them that include deamus (dean x seamus)!! I rate it a 8.9/10
@princessdiana1967 wanted me to do roneville (Neville x Ron) so here ya go! roneville is really cute! two shy boys being adorable tbh! I feel like both of them would have a hard time expressing feelings but when they did, it was genuine! They’re literally so pure oml! I rate it a 9.2/10

Lokius Hogwarts AU
All right my dudes, hot take time:
I’ve seen a lot of Hogwarts AU headcanons floating around, and having thought waaaaaay too much about it, I’m here to add my two cents.
( @sortinghatchats has my favorite sorting system I’ve seen to date, since it goes so much in depth into themes throughout the HP series that good ol’ JK barely touches on in her pretty surface level commentary on the subject, so that’s the system I’m gonna use. Go to their blog to learn more about the way the system works bc I’m too lazy to go more in depth than I already have.)
This is gonna be Hella Long tho so I’m putting it under a cut.
Loki: Petrified Slytherin Primary/Slytherin Secondary - sorting: Slytherin House
Perhaps it may seem trite, but Loki really is a Slytherin Primary at heart. Yes he is ambitious and all that stereotypical stuff, but that’s not really what makes a Slytherin a Slytherin. Anyone can be ambitious. No, he’s a Slytherin because he unapologetically prioritizes himself and the people he cares about above all else.
“Slytherin Primaries are fiercely loyal to the people they care for most. Slytherin is the place where “you’ll make your real friends”– they prioritize individual loyalties and find their moral core in protecting and caring for the people they are closest to. Slytherin’s reputation for ambition comes from the visibility of this promotion of the self and their important people– ambition is something you can find in all four Houses; Slytherin’s is just the one that looks most obviously selfish.”
However, Loki’s trauma has pushed him to something this system calls Petrifying.
“Whether through death, betrayal, abandonment (from either side), or through never having had any to begin with, the Petrified Slytherin has decided that having important people is too dangerous. Having those strong ties leaves you open to pain and weakness, and the pleasure of those connections aren’t worth the despair that comes from their seemingly inevitable loss. In this way, they close themselves off to meaningful connections out of what is ultimately fear (though from the inside, it’s far more likely to be experienced as a rational, sensible decision given the circumstances of the world), and gives them a stony exterior that seems impenetrable, resolute, and cold.”
Loki wants love and acceptance so badly, but he is convinced that the kind of attachments and relationships that that comes from are far too dangerous and the risk isn’t worth the reward. He pushes people away, hides behind a mask of self-aggrandizement, and betrays others before they can betray him in an attempt to protect himself from potential pain.
In the series, however, we see him slowly unpetrify and move towards a more healthy style of attachment because of Mobius and Sylvie’s influence on him. Whereas his circle of priorities used to include only himself (and arguably Frigga and later, Thor, in the movie timeline), he proverbially “thaws” enough to let Mobius and Sylvie in, and tragically, because of that, the loss of them hurts him so deeply because by the end of season 1, they’re all he had.
His Slytherin Secondary, however, is obvious in his methodology. He’s the god of chaos. He loves improvisation, and plans only exist as long as another better idea doesn’t come along and usurp it. He’ll change and adapt (quite literally) to best fit the situation in front of him, and he takes joy in that. But beneath all the running and his many personas, he has his “neutral state” that he lets only a precious few see. Mobius gets to see it, and so does Sylvie, and as he progresses through the series, he starts to be more comfortable existing in that state where he’s no longer hiding behind everything he feels like the world expects him to be and he can just be himself.
Mobius: Slytherin Primary (Hufflepuff Model)/Hufflepuff Secondary - sorting: Slytherin House
People like to put Mobius in Hufflepuff, but honestly? I don’t think that’s where he’d be most comfortable. Yes, he is kind and caring to basically everyone, and we see this over and over again in the series. The man radiates comfort. However, like it says in Inky and Kat’s description of the Slytherin Primary,
“Wanting to help someone doesn’t mean you’re loyal to them. Wanting to help them at the expense of your comforts, your values, your commitments and sometimes even yourself–that does.”
Mobius is kind to a fault. But he is not kind at the expense of himself. Not to everyone at least. He is kind to the child in France, but he is not kind to the point of saving him from the resetting of the timeline, and he doesn’t feel guilty about that. He believes in a duty of care, but he does not believe he has any obligation to go beyond what he thinks that duty of care is. He unapologetically plays favorites, and this is mentioned on multiple occasions. Above all else, Mobius values loyalty as a virtue. Sure, he cares about the TVA and its accompanying morality, and he genuinely does believe it’s his duty to care about and be kind to others. He seems to vibe quite well with the Hufflepuff ideal of caring about people simply because they are people, but this is all secondary to his personal loyalties when push comes to shove. For Mobius,
“dropping that model in order to stand by someone you love, or in order to protect yourself, doesn’t feel like a failing. Sticking to that modelled morality at the expense of betraying or abandoning one of their own would make a Slytherin feel guilty and wrong. Being able to put the things and concepts you like aside for the sake of the people who need you feels more righteous than any moral posturing.”
It’s for this very reason that Mobius gets so angry and feels so betrayed when he thinks Loki has abandoned him for Sylvie, and when Ravonna lies to him and prunes him.
“Betraying your own is the worst kind of crime. Loyalty is precious and terrible; it makes you vulnerable. It’s given sparingly, deeply, and a Slytherin will stand by their loyalties through the same death and fire that a Gryffindor would brave for the sake of doing the right thing, or a Hufflepuff to help someone in need.”
Loki is Mobius’ own. Mobius prioritizes Loki over almost everything else, sticks his neck out for him over and over again, and is willing to sacrifice his own happiness for him. He’s even willing to abandon the whole of his former ideology and prior friendships for this relationship that has become closer to him than his own self, the highest tier of trust and loyalty a Slytherin can give.
“It’s an extreme Slytherin who would let the whole world burn for the sake of a friend, but every Slytherin Primary would be at the very least tempted.”
And Mobius very nearly does exactly that. Even says the words, “burn it to the ground” when Loki asks him what he’s going to do. And he doesn’t feel bad about it. Especially after realizing what the TVA has done to him and the people he cares about. He kicks the TVA out of his circle of care, and doesn’t look back. And he does it for Loki.
Mobius’ Secondary is where people get his Hufflepuff vibes from, I think. A Hufflepuff secondary is marked by “their consistency and the integrity of their method. They’re our hard workers. They build habits and systems for themselves and accomplish things by keeping at them. They have a steadiness that can make them the lynchpin (though not usually the leader) of a community.” And that is what Mobius is. It’s why he radiates that kindness and comfort. He quietly and carefully works at and invests in the relationships in his life to the point that people almost automatically trust him, and over time he has learned how to read people and figure out what makes them tick.
He approaches new situations with a steady head and gentle hand that Loki is unused to, and it’s this approach that eases Loki into learning how to trust and rely on people. It’s an inherently Hufflepuff approach, and it’s the key to his success as an analyst for the TVA and an understanding friend for Lokis across the timelines.
Tl;dr - Application to an actual Hogwarts AU fic:
THEREFORE! There’s a compelling narrative to be had with a tiny, first-year Loki coming into Hogwarts. He comes from a pureblood family that’s very proud of their Gryffindor heritage (they don’t talk about Hela, and Loki and Thor don’t even know she exists until later in this story), and his brother had been sorted into Gryffindor a couple years prior, and Loki has heard very little other than contempt for Slytherin House and everyone in it. Loki doesn’t want to be sorted into Slytherin. He doesn’t want to deal with the disappointment and shame from his father and the sad eyes of his brother. But the sorting hat sorts him there almost immediately, and his heart sinks. He wanders over to the table miserably but determined. If he’s gonna be sorted into the “evil” house, might as well just run with it, right? Best not to get close to people though. It’s Slytherin. Who knows when someone will betray you.
Enter Mobius, the tiny muggleborn, bright eyed, bushy tailed, and having no clue about the prejudices between houses. The hat takes a hot minute sorting him, giving him the choice between Hufflepuff and Slytherin and telling him Hufflepuff would love a kindhearted and welcoming member like him. But Mobius has been eyeing the little black-haired kid who got sorted before him and is now sitting far apart from everyone, and he can’t help but feel like he needs to be this kid’s friend. And didn’t the hat just say Slytherin is where you’ll make your real friends? Friends are what Mobius cares about, so he’d like to go to Slytherin, thank you very much, so that’s where he goes, and he happily plunks himself down right next to Loki and sticks his hand out.
“I’m Mobius. What’s your name?”
Loki looks at Mobius’ hand disdainfully and doesn’t shake it, but he does answer, “Loki.”
Mobius’ eyes go wide, and he smiles. “Loki? Like after the Norse god?”
Loki nods, eyeing Mobius suspiciously. People don’t often bat an eye at his name. Not in the wizarding world, anyway.
“Wow, that’s so cool! I loved reading about Norse mythology in school and Loki was always my favorite. Names have power, you know. If you’ve got the same name, then you must be just as awesome.”
Loki has no idea what to do with this kid, but he’s immediately aware of two things:
He’s absolutely sure that this Mobius kid is in the wrong house. No way a Slytherin can be this excited without a single hint of deception in his face.
He’s going to be eaten alive by the other students if Loki doesn’t protect him. What a pain.
Loki is completely wrong on both of these points.
