Why isn’t Illumi the Zoldyck Heir?

Illumi seems far more fit to be the heir than Killua:

1) He is a dutiful assassin (at least in the beginning)

2) He is the eldest child

3) He takes pride in the Zoldyck legacy

4) The only thing going for Killua to be the heir is his strength and potential

So what is stoping Illumi from being the heir? Here are a few theories:

Theory #1: Illumi is an illegitimate Zoldyck:

What if Illumi isn’t Silva’s kid and thats why he isn’t the heir. Kikyo was only 17 when she got pregnant with Illumi, so it is reasonable to wonder if she had Illumi with another man before she married Silva. He certainly looks nothing like Silva.

Theory #2: Illumi was originally the heir but was pushed too far in his training and “broke” becoming unfit for the position:

This common theory is based of Illumi’s stoic nature and lack of typical emotional response or understanding. Illumi is obviously messed up in the head and being raised as a Zoldyck their is no wonder why.

According to this theory Illumi was sort of Kilyo and Silva’s guinea pig for how they wanted to raise the next generation of Zoldyck assassins. The theory is that they put him through too much and “ruined” him.

The theory often says that Kikyo and Silva did too little with Milluki cause they were trying to correct their mistakes with Illumi. But with Milluki they did too little and he became lazy and slacked off. But with Killua they think they have found the perfect happy medium to create the assassin they want to lead the family.

Theory #3: The heir is born a transmuter with white hair:

Zeno, Silva, and Killua have three things in common:

1) They have white hair

2) They are transmuters

3) They have all been the heir

So which one of these or combination of these do you think is the reason?

How would the Zoldyck family feel about seeing Future Killua, y'know future Killua is all powerful and all but they also see with KIDS and his wife, but his wife is powerful like POWERFUL POWERFUL, and so are his kids but Killua and his wife don't agree on the kids being assassin's. And the kids don't want to be either. But despite all that, they're like a powerful family that can't be touched. How would the zoldycks react to this? Like headcanons of each Zoldycks reaction😳

This was so goofy for me to write, I hope you enjoy! Sorry if it's not exactly what you wanted, but I think it covers the vague scenario at least.

Kikyo

Kikyo absolutely adores Killua, in her own way, so the fact he'd even dare to get married without letting her know or vet her daughter-in-law would break her. Finding out he had a kid, let alone multiple? She'd keel over like a goat.

Illumi

On the topic of Killua getting married, Illumi's hurt he wasn't invited, but otherwise he wouldn't exactly care. He's not controlling anymore. Killua has made his boundaries clear, Illumi's a good brother, and he respects that. Plus, if Killua gets married, the pressure on Illumi to carry on the lineage goes away! So, he's happy for Killua. He's fine. He's happy he found a loving partner. And has children who won't become assassins. He is. So happy for his baby brother.

Milluki

Unlike Illumi, I don't think Milluki would honestly give a single crap beyond agreeing with his mother for praise. His only hat in this fight is being pissy Killua's family can't be drug into the fold, his kids won't be up for inhumane torture, and his wife is 'ugly'. But, of course, Killua's marriage and his spouse being trash will not spare her Milluki sliding into the dms to try and get nudes and then call her names for not cheating. A fact sure to become fodder for Kikyo

Kalluto

Kalluto is fairly young, so their main concern would be the jealousy. They'd hate that Killua's kids won't become assassins, won't go through that training, and won't be around to play with them because Killua would murder his family if they tried. Other than that, like Milluki, they'd only really agree with Kikyo for acceptance and to not annoy her. Kalluto doesn't strike me as being particularly controlling yet, they just do as they're told.

Alluka

Alluka would get to visit her nieces or nephews, and she'd adore Killua's family. So long as he's still sure he loves her, Alluka is honestly and truly happy for him. She'd want to grant his family wishes, but Killua would probably dissuade that due to the cost, but he'd appreciate it and that would also make her happy.

Silva

Silva would be moreso pissed that Killua would not let his family near the Zoldycks, and would make sure they had no chance to break in or anything extreme. Then you add onto that disrespect of getting no notification of the wedding, let alone childbirth, and Silva is pissed. He only wants what's best for his family, and Killua is supposed to be the next head of the house, so he needs to integrate his wife and kids into the family business, he needs to quit being so hostile to them. But, of course, he'd try to keep his emotions level. There'd be no point in worsening their chances of reconciliation. Plus, despite how infuriating it would be, there's a shred of pride in Killua getting himself to a point where even the Zoldycks can't get him.

Zeno

Zeno is by far the most amused out of the group. Killua went off and got married and had kids without them knowing? Impressive, if a bit upsetting that he cut them out so much. And, he got himself to such a point that they can't retaliate or kidnap the kids? Another impressive feat! Good for Killua for managing that. In all, Zeno seems like he's too old to exactly care about the lineage. Silva's got other kids, it's above Zeno's pay grade to angst over Killua not wanting his kids to become assassins like he did. Zeno's more interested in the war he started when he got out of the zoldyck's reach.

I can’t blame Illumi for trying to stop Nanika from saving Gon.

Like yeah that sounds bad but Illumi was like acting under the impression that the wish would kill the whole Zoldyck family and thousands of other lives.

Like without knowing that Killua can command and that Alluka doesn’t ask for something cruel after healing someone, I would also have been trying to stop Killua and Alluka!

I kinda feel like a little communication on Killuas part could have helped. I mean I get that he is scared that Illumi is gonna take control of Alluka but you can at least tell him that there won’t be any cost for saving Gon.

Milluki would be the easiest Zoldyck to reform.

And I'm not talking about those "Milluki loses weight and is suddenly nice because he's 'handsome' and not fat anymore" fanfics and fanarts. Who's to say Milluki loathes himself because of his weight ? That's just a dumb assumption, sure, he probably does get picked on by his family, mainly his parents and grandpa, because he's the portly one out of all of them, but they also judge and criticize him for everything else, so I think his weight would be one of the last things on his mind.

But think about it, Milluki is actually really smart and skilled with computers, he's basically the family IT guy whenever they have a problem that has something to do with technology.

But what if he decided to leave ? In my opinion, I don't think his family would care, considering that they think he's a failure as an assassin and a son. They wouldn't miss him like they miss Killua. Sure they'd be losing their IT guy, but they could easily just hire someone for that role. And I'm not even sure they realized he actually left the house for the first time in years when he went to Yorknew City.

What if at that moment, when he came back, he realizes that nobody even noticed that he was gone and it inspires him to leave ? He realizes that they truly don't care.

Milluki is young and talented, so he could easily get a job that can use his skills and could even enroll in a university and could get multiple degrees.

His personality is also shitty because he's stuck in the house with people who don't care about him or notice him, so he doesn't really socialize as much as he should, so if he went and found some anime nerds with common interests (assuming they aren't the shitty incel type who'd influence his already shitty personality) he could probably make fast friends that way. He'd be a little awkward at first but he'd eventually get into the rythm.

In eighth grade I once made a fanfic where Milluki simply just had to leave the house because there was an anime figure he wanted that could only be bought in stores and he bumped into a person who wanted the same figure and they just talked and got to know each other and it was the first person who acknowledged him and showed him kindness in years, so he was eager to get away from his family and change himself for them but he was scared that they would just abandon him and ignore him just like everyone else.

Milluki could actually survive and make it in the real world if he just had the motivation and if he did ever get out and touch some grass and met some people, his spoiled man-child personality would probably decrease expeditiously. It wouldn't be completely gone, but he'd probably just be reduced to more of an know-it-all dork who always has a 'I'm smarter than everyone in this room, so when I say Sailor Moon can beat Goku, it's a fact, don't question my judgment !" personality but can turn it off whenever he has to do something important or when he wants to make new friends.

Who is millukis favorite sibling??

We all know killua and alluka like each other the most and there have been other head cannons in illumi and kalluto...but where milluki??

Yeah well Killua and Alluka are obviously closest with each other and have the beat relationship. As for Kalluto and Illumi thats more debatable. Illumi and Kalluto have a better relationship than Illumi and Killua however I don’t think Illumi favours either, he loves Killua even though he is dreadful at knowing what it means to show it. In fact Illumi might even prefer Killua. Both Illumi and Kalluto take after their mother a lot.

As for Milluki he was probably close with Illumi when they were little kids but as Illumi gets more powerful and Milluki slacks off on his jobs more often (we see this with him getting nanika to do a assassination for him.) The tension in their relationship would grow. Illumi would feel offended that Milluki doesn’t take his job as an assassin so seriously and I think Milluki is jealous of Illumi’s strength and power. So I don’t think they are particularly close anymore. I see Killua and Milluki butting heads a lot as small children because Silva and Illumi favor Killua. Alluka was removed from the equation very young so Milluki wouldn’t have had time to be close with her.

I think that Kalluto looked up to Milluki as a small kid and Milluki liked that and favoured Kalluto. I can see Kalluto and Milluki being the closest. Kalluto seems the type to have respect for all his older family members and Milluki seems the type to really enjoy that and use it to his advantage. Milluki and Kalluto were also together more often as Killua and Illumi were often away from home.
