A beautiful day at Detroit Public Library! I stopped in to pick up my book on hold, and stayed for a while to check out “Encore” by Desiree Kelly. SO amazing.
Check out her exhibit until February 28th. There will also be a closing reception on February 21st!
25th Anniversary 🍎 Feeling very emotional and nostalgic today, Janurary 21st, 2023. I moved to New York City on January 19th, 1998 with a dream! 🙌🏼. _ Though hard work, determination and inspired by Paulo Coelho’s charatcter Santiago in “The Alchemist” my DREAM became a reality and the DREAM continues…..🙏🏼. _ This is my very first fashion story published in Out 1998. I have always been inspired by Caravaggio’s paintings and wanted to capture this in my first menswear story titled, Chiaroscuro. _ chi·a·ro·scu·ro /kyärəˈsko͝orō/ noun noun: chiaroscuro This is an Italian term which literally means 'light-dark'. In paintings the description refers to clear tonal contrasts which are often used to suggest the volume and modelling of the subjects depicted. _ Art Director, Dan Lori 💻 Fashion & Style Director, Gregory Wein 🔵 Photography, Francois Dischinger 📷 Set Designer, Michael Reynolds 🧰 Menswear designers include: Dolce & Gabbanan, D&G, Donna Karan, DKNY, Miu Miu, Prada, Tom Ford for Gucci ⭐️ . . . @outmagazine @dannylori @francoisdischinger @sasskw @dolcegabbana @jcocd @prada @miumiu @asmithy13 @keithshore @therealerinhawker @donnakaran @dkny calvinklein @davidgruning @tedstaffordstyle @gucci @tomford #mrwein #styledirector #fashioneditor #fashion #mensfashion #menswear #outmagazine #gay #theohiogays #instagay #thealchemist #paulocoelho #fashioneditorial #dreambig #dream #dolcegabbana #dg #prada #miumiu #donnakaran #calvinklein #tomfordforgucci #gucci #fashionmagic (at Brooklyn, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnsHfw1OM5O/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I recently began rereading The Alchemist. I'm on part II at the moment. I can't believe I let years pass before reading this life changing book, again. I needed to reaffirm to myself that I know my purpose, my personal legend and I shouldn't allow anyone or any circumstance to make me feel as if my dreams aren't possible.
In this book is one of the most impactful and magnificent declarations a person in the midst of pursuing their personal legend will ever read, "And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
