It's never weird, and of course I remember you!! I get nostalgic about the old days of our DC fandom on tumblr too. <3

I'm doing pretty well- just started a new job, which is kind of my first "real" full-time job, which is both stressful and exciting. In fandom news, I've been really enjoying The Beatles: Get Back lately and getting more into the history of the Beatles, which is lots of fun. (You guys will probably see some more posts about that from me in the future, although I'm wary of posting too many #hottakes about it. 😅)

I hope everything is going well with you! Remember I definitely still consider you a friend and I'm always happy to hear from you. 💕💕)

hey speaking of your url why doesnt dc ever use his full name? His wiki just says his name is Garth

Because “Garth of Shayeris” is actually a fan term from about 10 years ago!! It came about because back when Tumblr’s search was even less useful, it was impossible to find Garth content. Back then, Young Justice was huge so only Kaldur came up when you searched “Aqualad”, and “Garth” or “Tempest” were too vague.

I believe @theandysar came up with it (we were like…the ONLY Garth fans back then lmao) as a way to post about Garth without getting lost in the sea of other content. The name was picked because that’s where his royal heritage is from (tho technically he was born in Poseidonis!) and he is referred to as “Garth of Shayeris” at least once in the comics. But generally speaking, most comics don’t have Atlanteans using last names (you’ll notice only Arthur and Orm have a last name) It was purely a tagging thing. It’s also why a lot of non-tumblr sites probably don’t use that tag. Nowadays Garth isn’t even from Shayeris so I’m not sure what DC would call him.

Side note: You will sometimes see people misspell it as “Shayaris” because “shayari” is a word that google recognizes, but the kingdom is in fact called “ShayEris”

So my Aqualad^2 baby oc is Mako (thx to @blackmantagirl for help with the name) and she's a clone made of a mix of Kaldur and Garth's dna

1. She's magically inclined but prefers hand to hand combat, something that concerns her fathers

2. She once got her head stuck in a frozen wall she made. Garth got her out without injury. She thinks it's hilarious but neither Kaldur or Garth really think so

3. Sometimes she'll fall alseep on Kaldur's lap while he's filling out League paperwork. He considers it one of the most relaxing things about his life

4) Are you easy to get along with?

I’d like to think so, but I’m also biased. I’m fairly easy-going in real life even if I’m willing to have a serious debate/discussion with someone at the drop of a hat and willing to stand up for what I think. I try to be the ‘I’m okay with talking and hanging out with anyone unless they’re a genuinely awful person’ kind of person, and I definitely have several very different groups of friends that I bounce around, so…probably? Hard to believe considering how hardcore I can be on here at times about some things, haha. @thefireharem, @curiouscarson, and @itsthegeekwonder could probably give you a more accurate assessment.

41) Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance?

It depends on what they’ve done to make it to their second chance, but on the whole, yes, I do.

hello! sorry about this but perhaps you should go talk with a doctor about your periods :) Those characteristics that described are not normal and could lead you to develop certain issues like anemia plus it sure sounds uncomfortable. I don't mean to offend you is just that I'm a Dr myself and I couldn't just leave you there. Stay healthy! XOXO

I have polycystic ovary syndrome, which my Dr says is the cause of my freaky periods. I took the contraceptive pill for a while, which regulated things for me. However it caused other side effects which is why I stopped taking it. To be honest I have lived with this for over 20 years now and now that things have calmed down from the month long waterfalls it's actually quite manageable.

But thank you very much for your concern, that was really sweet of you :)

So update on today

So today started...kinda not good as some of you know but I wanted to share how it ended

1. One of my best friends FINALLY paid off the ring so he can propose to his girlfriend and I'm so happy and the ring is so pretty!

2. I'm going to a music festival! With @tea-and-tipulidae and i'm stoked!

3. I talked over some stuff with my gf and things are better I think. There's definitely no malice or anything and we both really care for each other so it's all good

4. Also we touched noses with is as close as we've come to kissing so like yay! But we both immediately got flustered and red faced and giggly. It was kinda cute honestly

So not a bad ended to the day I think

I also figured out how to start a payment plan for school before the 11

and thank you to @thecityofthefireflies @theandysar and the anon who were super nice and helpful today
