in my own unprofessional opinion formed from spending the past two years using half my time to do theatre stuff: auditions are more terrifying than actual performances. because when you're in a show you've practiced for months and months but when auditioning, you usually only have about two weeks to prepare your stuff and sometimes are given stuff on the spot and if you screw up then it'll affect the outcome of your next few months for the worse
why is stage fright so normal for everyone but no one ever mentions audition fright?
i had an audition today and i made quite a few slip-ups and i'm so scared and waiting with baited breath but in all four of the shows i did in the last school year i had no jitters whatsoever and was able to just have fun doing what i love
