Shoutout to one of my all time fave Bellarke-fanfictions from one of my fave fanfic-authors ever: Simple Pleasures by @pawprinterfanfic!

“She was going to tell him. I care about you. I’m falling for you. I think, I could be in love with you, one day.

She knew exactly what she was going to say to him.

Bell, I’m falling in love with you.

She was speaking before she could stop herself. He deserved to know how much he meant to her.

“Bell, I-”

His hand flew out from under hers and pressed against her lips, making her fall quiet. Her body stiffened as soon as she realized just how frightened he looked. His eyes were wide, his muscles tensed, and he was holding his breath. Her heart began hammering in her chest as she seen him.

She only seen this fear in him one time before. The cave.

That’s when she heard it. Faintly, she could hear the creak of a wooden step.

They weren’t alone.”

I’ve read this fanfic for the first time during one of the darkest times for our Bellarke-fandom: Last september, when that awful, disgusting, never-again-to-be-mentioned episode aired, where my all time fave comfort character has been senselessly murdered. By the hand of his own soulmate. What the FUCK. (This is NOT canon content for me, just so you know.) But this fanfiction here guys, this fanfic kept me occupied and distracted, so that i could somehow manage to breathe and live through this horrible time. Right after that (if this wasn’t already difficult enough) my surgery took place, and i had this fic printed out in two books with my own created covers with me when i was in hospital. And AGAIN it was the right amount of distraction to keep myself going, although i received one of the most devestating diagnoses of my life in that time. Nothing mortal, but something, that changed my life and my hopes in a future with kids of my own forever…

I want to say a huge THANK YOU to paw, for combining two of my all time fave fandoms in this remarkable fic, The Hunger Games and The 100, to create one of the most gripping and intriguing stories i’ve ever read about Bellarke so far, for this much needed distraction throughout a very hard time in my life. Saying that i LOVED reading it is an understatement. It was literally a rollercoaster of bare emotions i was going through, never boring in the slightest. -Spoiler alert!- How could i describe what all these beloved characters meant to me, pawprinter wrote and planned out so perfectly? I CRIED when Raven died. I cried even harder, when Murphy had to go - what i never would have expected from myself in the first place. And i laughed with our sweet Bellarke-bbs, when they repeatedly met on that roof together in the night, looking over the skyline of the Capitol-city and finding an echo of themselves in the night’s sky, the stars. True north. I LOVED all the tiny things from the series being woven into the story so beautifully, like Clarke’s watch from her father, her feeling betrayed of Wells, her best friend, the actual betrayal of her mother Abby, so that her father got killed! And so many more little and not so little things - and so many QUOTES! - you’d all recognize from the actual show! I am also VERY grateful for the little one-shots, pawprinter wrote after she finished her fic. They rounded it all up perfectly, especially when it comes to Octavia and what happened to her after Bellamy and Clarke had been banished from Panem. And i was specifically pleased to read about the Griffin-Blake reunion then. It was THE perfect ending for that au in a whole - and it felt so right. -Spoiler end!-

It was a marvellous, heartwrenching trip and i don’t regret reading it for the 2nd time already now. ;) So this little aesthetic is my tribute to this story i got to love so dearly. Thank you, paw. You may not know me, but… From the bottom of my broken shipper-heart: THANK YOU.
