Why must a show have romance or plot to be enjoyable?? Is it not enough to see a man and his baby be happy in space? with the occasional war crime and space violence??

for real tho hahhahh why cant we just enjoy a show of a single dad struggling to raise his gremlin child and being an unbothered side character in his own show ashjdgkasd. not everything needs to be romantic, a character can have a healthy platonic close relationship with another character as well it's ✨the power of frenship✨

hmm, i don’t think my boldest takes on the mandalorian are particularly uncommon, at least in this corner of the fandom, but here are a couple unpopular opinions or hot takes ive got :)

the mandalorian season 1 is as close to perfection star wars has ever been and is easily the best piece of star wars media out there. now, star wars as a whole is full of brilliant characters, plots, and world building, but the storytelling itself is a hot mess. there’s a lot of star wars media (the prequels and tcw for example) that i love in spite of it’s awkward, incoherent, and even disjointed storytelling due to what it’s trying to achieve or what it could. the substance makes up for the poor presentation, essentially. but the mandalorian! the mandalorian has actual solid storytelling! it succeeds in creating a symbiotic relationship between its plot and characters, in that significant turning points in the plot are often accompanied (if not caused) by significant turning points in a character’s development (ex: din’s decision to go back for grogu). it has strong story beats, thematic elements, intrigue and an emotional core, to name a few narrative elements that are either absent or underdeveloped in other star wars media. not to mention the heart that went into the mandalorian; it is such a genuine love letter to the wealth of material that’s come before it. and it’s commendable that a frankly niche story was made accessible by presenting information to the viewer through the limited lens of the protagonist’s own knowledge. i could say more but like….. yeah the mandalorian (s1) is a genuinely good and satisfying piece of media

the reveal of din’s name and cara’s planet of origin are among the best “plot twist” in star wars. im not explaining myself but im right

din and grogu shouldn’t have reunited in tbobf. they should’ve had the balls to stick with the mandalorian season 2 ending despite the backlash and deal with din and grogu’s separation in season 3 rather than resolve it in between seasons.

dave filoni’s unwillingness to let go of ahsoka, mixed with his inability to truly justify her continued presence in the narrative, is damaging to her character’s legacy and fan favourite status. ahsoka is at her worst in her live action appearances, especially in her mandalorian 2 episode where she steals the spotlight (failing to act as a proper supporting character). and it’s not even worth it because this ahsoka is just so boring. where’s her personality? like i know she’s supposed to be a “realized jedi” type now, but i don’t believe that ahsoka would be as sociable and nice 24/7 with din given her trauma, self imposed solitude, and interpretation of the no attachment rule. it also might have been interesting if we were allowed a perspective of ahsoka that’s deeply influenced by din’s own point of view.

📓 Sol: Sol is a very visual person, and also designs and makes clothes in her free time, so I imagine that her "journal" is 80% clothing designs and sketches, 15% day-to-day schedule stuff, and 5% written rants about people she hates, but she can't complain to anyone so she writes it in her journal to let out her true feelings

Angel: he actually writes a little captain's log that summarizes each day. they're very short, barely one page that basically just notes down what he did every few hours of the day, but he does write notable moments that he wants to remember later. as well as drafted battle plans. he would have one journal just for that, and another for his more creative ideas, so he has another one that's for poetry and music.

⚖️ this is such a tricky question cause they are legally allowed to commit many crimes. Sol is legally allowed to murder, Angel is legally allowed to murder, and neither of them had done a lot of crimes beyond that? no wait as I wrote this I remembered the post-66 era, where all they did was break laws. but yeah, the most serious crime that both of them had down was murder, again, but this time they're not allowed to.

Omg yessss that fic is literally everything i asked for from Din and Grogu relationship (also how he would rebuild Mandalore and deal w politics). It's my canon ss3 now idc what they will show me on D+ anymore o(-(. The longing, the angst, the growth, the fucking competent ruler but all he cares about is his son, and the talented baby but all he cares about is to get gud to meet his dad. Din was so ready for death but thinking about his promise w his son made him fight for his life again. He missed his boi sm but he would never do anything that would bring harm to Grogu "Because I love him enough to let him go, in his better life" <- this line fucking broke me I had to take a break to process my emotions. I'm so sorry for the rambling bro I cant shut up about this fic o(-(

She loves people! she's a people person and likes the unique quirks of individuals, so she's pretty easy to please!

38. How does your character unwind after a long day?

some Yoga, some sparring, and some sewing, she's always working on one project or another. When she can't do any of that she's sketching out outfit designs for the next time she can get her hands on a sewing machine.
