🥊.|my opinion on the moon signs as a leo moon.
just a little something while i get over the fact my work may have been stolen! el oh el! it’s been hard getting over and it hasn’t exactly been a fear until it happened, so please forgive me for not posting as often. DON’T STEAL OR REPOST MY SHIT.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
aries
just found out my bio dad is an aries moon.... 🧍n e ways we don’t really have a good connection, but he’d do anything for me, which is something i’ve noticed about aries moons. despite being a fire sign, aries is DEAD ASS loyal. they also give amazing advice (sometimes unsolicited) and WILL match your energy. the moon sign to do them all the way and make sure you do you. y’all are hot hot. pun intended. a lot of aries moons i’ve met, i would never guess that they were an aries moon. you usually don’t know until you’re up close and personal with them. in traditional astrology, scorpio and aries share a home planet: mars. i don’t think it’s too far-fetched to think that aries can be just as secretive as scorpio under all that intense energy. not really judgmental, but stays loyal and true to their beliefs.
taurus
🤨🤨 now.. i have never been attracted to taurus placements. like yeah they’re venusians also, but taurus placements and i just kind of mind my own. if i am attracted to someone with taurus placements, they usually have air placements to go with it. most of the time, when i don’t trust somebody, they usually have taurus placements. now, i don’t believe they aren’t trustworthy and me not trusting someone that happen to have taurus placements from the get-go is not me saying they’re bad. i just think it’s my 8H at play and my venus opp. them. but taurus MOONS are the most with-standing in their beliefs out of all the fixed moon signs. like even if they’re wrong, no they’re not 😋 you’re wrong 🙄 y’all care heavily for your family and LOVE spoiling them with your money. i know i can go to you if i need help with something because y’all are always so methodical in situations and give very straightforward advice. fun to gossip with, but they aren’t gossipers, they just share what they know with people they trust and in turn, i tell them everything i know.
gemini
this is like the only air moon i’ve seen sit back and observe. y’all like to stay hidden. especially your talents. y’all just do something super cool one day and act like it’s no big deal 😒 IT IS A BIG DEAL 🤬 y’all don’t contribute much to a conversation. typical mutable moon fitting the mutable element stereotype 😒🙄 y’all like to collect info on people like little gremlins to use later to get what you want. undercover spy.🕴a bit egotistical, but super caring. will do what they need to do to get there. looks productive because they’re super smart, but they’re actually quite lazy and spoils themselves often. sometimes, i just want to punch y’all, but in a well-meaning way. kind of like a “get your mind out of the gutter” punch. when they find ambition for something, that’s when they work for it, and BOY is the end result amazing.
cancer
YESSSSSS YESSSSSS YESSSSSS like i’m finding out that it’s the more the merrier to me when it comes to cancer placements. come on into my space. let’s talk. i understand y’all need alone time and it’s nice to know y’all understand when i need alone time too. y’all work SO HARD. and i’m so proud of you, baby. i recognize your hard work and talent and i WILL tell you i do. you guys care UNDERCOVER. it’s giving very much kc undercover 🙄 my brother is a cancer moon and the only time i know he’s thinking about me or worried about me is WHEN MY MOM TELLS ME. she’s like “yeah your brother wants to know what you’re doing. he won’t say that to you though” it’s just so funny 😭😭 in relationships, physical touch and quality time are so important. cancer moons love hard and unconditionally, and they hope you do the same. i’ll 💓 y’all until i’m put in the ground.
leo
🦗🦗🦗.... anyways. i am a leo moon 🤞🤞🤞 so hey, brethren. ummmmmmmmmm i think leo moons are pretty awesome. i love being a leo moon and i feel like i resonate with being a leo moon so much (moon dominance lol). HOWEVER.. most leo moons i’ve come into contact with ARE SO ANNOYING OH MY GOD. like the undeveloped ones i met can’t read the room, are too dramatic (like we all are, but there’s a time & place), attention seeking, and air-headed. i need need those leo moons to also know that just because someone gives you attention, doesn’t mean they’re nice or your friend. it’s okay to be nice to people, but don’t see everything with rose-colored glasses. i know there are awesome leo moons out there and i NEED to know y’all please i am so desperate here💔💔💔💔 i’ve been stuck with annoying ass leo moons all my life i am TIRED. all the leo moons i’ve met care so hard about everything. these aren’t the people you can pick fun at without saying jk. they’re incredibly well-meaning, but sometimes it doesn’t come across that way. despite my mixed feelings on all the leo moons i’ve met, i am still one of y’all. love y’all 😍 anyways! done with my rant. it’s very evident in someone’s facial features when they’re a leo moon. the eyes, nose, lips, hair, brows.. i just know it when i see it. real eyes realize real lies, you dig?? when developed properly, leo moons are SUCH influencers. it can be very subtly too. you just garner attention when you know your power and own it. that’s my advice for my fellow leo moons. the affirmation “i don’t chase, i attract” can be VERY helpful to all leo moons because no matter how developed you are, there will be some drive to chase after the attention of something. just sit there and own it. remember you’re literally royalty. all in all, leo moons are the most leo of the leo placements and DEFINITELY wear their heart of their sleeve.🤞 (also lmk if y’all get compliments on your hair and are super specific about who can deal with it. like, my hair isn’t my whole world, but i wouldn’t let anyone touch it unless it’s someone trying to fix a stray hair or someone who wants to play with it 😍)
virgo
🤨 why are y’all always so damn attracted to me 😒 the amount of virgo moons i have come in contact with in my life is so uncanny. i just guess it from the get-go whenever i meet someone new at this point 😭 to start off.. YOU NEED TO FUCKING STAND UP FOR YOURSELF‼️‼️ stop letting people talk over you and stop agreeing with someone’s way if you don’t want it. voice your opinion. you’re a mercury moon for god’s sake. don’t go with someone else’s flow if you’re gonna suffer through it or don’t want to. y’all are so sweet and care so much but don’t show it. you give insightful advice while at the same time realizing how the person will be happiest. you guys are the definition of subtle. you see things, but don’t acknowledge them, know something, but won’t say anything, and hear something, but won’t show it. always has insight on everything. however, your face shows visible disgust when there’s something happening that you ABSOLUTELY do not like. it’s so funny too 😭 to everyone with a virgo moon in their lives, you will NOT know everything about them. they’re full of surprises. my best friend brings up something random and crazy about her childhood and i’m like 😀😀 why didn’t you tell me..? she’s been my best friend for like 7 years too. SEVEN. y’all know my leo moon wants to know everything about my close ones 😒 not like the private stuff but damn we’ve been friends for 7 years and you’re JUST now bringing up that you have a phobia of clowns when we’re headed to a fair 😀 girl bye 😒 that was just an example, btw. my bff actually isn’t afraid of anything 🙄 (hi, olivia👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩) y’all have killer music taste and tend to have rough, karmic-filled friendships and relationships. i wish i could give all of you virgo moon people a hug, but you wouldn’t know how to receive it 😭😭 earlier in my friendship with my best friend, she did NOT take physical touch well. i’m the type to randomly touch someone to let them know that i love them and eventually she got used to that. anyways, you guys are so understanding. in my top 5 moon signs 🙏 you’re one of the best🤞💓
libra
...💓 actual charmers. my leo moon loves y’all. you guys are the hypepeople of the group and will go out of your way to compliment someone. super super helpful and loves spending quality time with people they love. if they like you, you’ll know. very persuasive to the point it makes them kinda manipulative; they know how to get what the want. the most emotional out of the air sign moons. i haven’t met a lot of y’all, but when i do, y’all are SO NICE. especially meeting you guys through my blog. i’ll post something and you guys will be like “HEYYYY THEREEEEE HEY THERE YOU HEY THEREEEEEE HOW ARE YOU DOINGGGG???? TELL ME WHAT’S UPPPPP” 💓💓💓💓 you guys seem so genuine to me. that may be because i have a libra stellium, but i guess we’ll never know 🤷‍♀️
scorpio
the definition of “i gotta put me first”. y’all be fighting for your LIVESSSSS and for what? 🤨 did it ever occur to you that you are making your problems worse by THINKING they are worse than they actually are? 🤨 so dramatic omg 🙄😒 who’s the real leo moon here 🙄🙄🙄🙄 i jest, i jest 😍 scorpio moons remind me of a trail that’s always on fire and y’all are just running ahead of it. crazy artistic, crazy ambitious, knows when something is worth working for. you guys are COLLECTORSSSSSS. you guys have mini little collections of the most random things and i absolutely love to look at them and hear you tell me about them. oh you collect coins? cool! where did you find them? why do you collect them? which one is your favorite? it’s the few times you actually get to see a scorpio moon express themselves openly and my leo moon just soaks it all in.
sagittarius
i truly vibe with y’all. even if some of y’all don’t take most things seriously, you understand when you need to. you can gage my emotions easily, especially when i’m angry. y’all are SERIOUSLY SO FUNNY. you say the most out of pocket things and i live, die, and breathe for it. my fav out of the fire moons, sorry 🙄 you guys are poetry in a different language; i don’t understand it, but i know it’s beautiful and that it comes from the heart. most sag moons i’ve met share a physical touch love language with me. i relate with y’all on a physical and spiritual level. like gemini moons, they won’t act with passion until they find something they’re passionate about. and i mean PASSIONATE. places their intelligence outside of school matters and tends to be easily distracted. i think homeschooling people with this moon sign would be best for them. tends to gravitate towards their mother while at the same time having mixed feelings about them, but would defend them STRONGLY. definitely the “i can make fun of them, but you CAN’T 🤬” moon sign. better in a large friend group. let’s stay up and gossip together 😍
capricorn
one of my FAVS. you guys are so awesome and super caring. you understand that everyone expresses themselves in a different way and you’re much more open than people realize. i’ve met so many of y’all and i always get a maternal energy from you. you compliment my fiery energy perfectly and you’re perfect to discuss and decide plans with. decisive ass hoes who like control. you guys are the type to text me out of the blue to tell me you love me. you guys HAVE to know how special you are. if you’re a cap moon, hit my line and let’s be bffs‼️‼️😍😍😍😍😍 definitely in my top 5 of my favorite moon signs. i know y’all aren’t very expressive with your feelings, but if you EVER need to talk to someone, you can talk to me. y’all are crazy strong. physically, most cap moons i’ve met have super pale skin and dark hair and freckles. their eyes can be light too. they usually have wavy hair, but tend to use heat on it. also like softball, i’ve noticed, or played it for a while. i love y’all💓💓💓💓💓💓
aquarius
y’all are so chatty. not in a mean way, but it’s amazing how long i could talk to y’all for. also we could talk shit about ANYONE together and you and i won’t tell a soul. like it won’t leave the environment we’re in. y’all also know how to detach WONDERFULLY. that’s one thing i’ve learned from aquarius placements: detachment. but despite y’all’s skill for detachment, y’all always gotta stay attached to that one thing that’s no good for you 😒 channel aquarius’s sister sign leo and just leave that hoe 🙄 do what’s best for YOU. y’all aren’t overly dramatic, but when you do express feeling, it’s REAL. you keep it real, even if you attempt to hide it. y’all tend to experiment with your style a lot, and i love love love it. my venus in scorpio loves to see the constant change y’all have going on. you always look good too 😳 also y’all’s hair so unique in some type of why, but you still manage to make it look amazing. gotta give credit where credit is due, yk? 😋💓
pisces
i do be suspicious of y’all lowkey. like i KNOW y’all got something goin on. will i ever know? no. do i know you def have something happening? yes. i’ve got an inkling y’all can be some manipulative ass mf if y’all want to be. i’ve met very few of you, but i KNOW under all that ☺️ is 👹. i gotta stan though. i think it’s the neptunian undertones that make me so suspicious. y’all are crazy devoted to what you love though. you’re definitely more people-pleasing than self-serving and i think you need to find a good balance between the two to find ideal comfort. if y’all want to bake, know you will SLAY at it. everything you bake tastes so GOOD like damn... please bake me a pie🙏 were y’all horse girls when you were younger? not even the stereotypical horse girl, but like.. LOVED horses? a few i’ve met were like that 😭 you go, girl, gallop around that gym pretending to be a horse 😍 you like to keep your hair up and out of your face and tend to wear one hairstyle for a LONG time. like to stay in comfort and isn’t the type to take risks, unless other placements say different. you guys can keep y’all’s messy past hidden so well. trust me, i know 😟 sneaky mfs. it’s none of my business though 😒 love y’all 😚😚😚😚
Tumblr media
thank you so much for reading! i’ll post more soon :) i’m currently in vienna and then will be heading to germany on vacation! if y’all want, i can post photos 😍 love you guys :) <3333

Captain Marvel head cannon again.
Thinking of all the, JL travel through Caps psyche for one reason or another, but instead of Billy's memories they get Marvels, so all of the past incarnations (which billy has had to witness too) at their lowest point.
Let's just say a champion is not given these powers and set free, they must learn where such power comes from.
So in this case they see Wisdom be found through betrayal
Strength found through destruction
Stamina through suffering
Power through sacrifice
Courage through loss (very very specifically a situation like Patrolucous and Achilles. Love, family, soul mate dies and courage is found through the loss of all you hold dear)
Speed through negligence
These are all just ideas of what they could be, really riding on the idea of the JL seeing captain, or someone so opposite of the captain find the one they love dead in a war, and just screaming in agony, getting up and doing what Achilles did. ( destroying damn near all of an army single handedly, then, without care for themselves, no food, no breaks, brutally enforcing a barrier and dragging a dead body behind them one person stacked behind the other, line in the sand but the line is blood and the sand is a battle field) just something so horrific and heart breaking that the JL may never be able to look at the cap as soft ever again
And for the new folks these are the powers specific to patron Solomon (wisdom), Hercules (strength), Atlas (stamina), Zeus (power), Achilles (courage) and Mercury (speed)

alt! (gimme that good shit baybeeee) [ alternate muses ; SELECTIVELY ACCEPTING ]
Tumblr media
“Ah, lad. It’s good to see you back after so long.”
The old warrior smiled at the prince, paying no mind to the blood still dripping from his hair after the latest death. Surely, he didn’t mind either. Considering the glance he gave to his father just as he turned the corner, he was staining the floor of the house of Hades on purpose.
Achilles shouldn’t smile at that. That look meant more than any word could, after all -- the poor prince was forced to return home after being defeated by the God, no doubt, and was rightfully upset by the latest defeat... but even if he would’ve loved to see him free from the shackles forcing him in the Underworld, he couldn’t help but appreciate his presence.
Eternity could be dull, in there. At least, prince Zagreus knew how to make that place feel alive.
                       How ironic, hm.
Tumblr media
“Don’t worry, lad.” Pelides laid his hand on the prince’s shoulder, giving him a gentle, yet firm squeeze “I’m sure you’ll manage to see the sun, sooner or later. You just need to have patience.”

I saw a man this morning Who did not wish to die; I ask, and cannot answer, If otherwise wish I. Fair broke the day this morning    Against the Dardanelles; The breeze blew soft, the morn's cheeks      Were cold as cold sea-shells. But other shells are waiting      Across the Aegean sea, Shrapnel and high explosive,      Shells and hells for me. O hell of ships and cities, Hell of men like me, Fatal second Helen,      Why must I follow thee? Achilles came to Troyland     And I to Chersonese: He turned from wrath to battle,     And I from three days' peace. Was it so hard, Achilles, So very hard to die? Thou knewest and I know not— So much the happier I. I will go back this morning From Imbros over the sea; Stand in the trench, Achilles,      Flame-capped, and shout for me.
— I Saw A Man This Morning, by Patrick Shaw-Stewart
(context and some incoherent opinions below)
CONTEXT: Shaw-Stewart was a British soldier in WWI. His only poem, ‘I Saw A Man This Morning,’ was written in a period of rest before returning to fighting and was published posthumously. He was killed in battle in 1917.
this is one of my all-time favourite poems. like, it lives rent free in my head and sometimes i just recite it to myself and go insane the repetition of ‘hell’ in the fourth stanza and then its echo in the name helen?? like omg? and those last two lines – stand in the trench, Achilles, / Flame-capped, and shout for me.’ SCREAM i struggle to form coherent thoughts about this poem but yeah it’s pretty awesome

the pipeline of “i chose her because i couldn’t imagine we’d ever be friends” to “hold on, seaweed brain. you’re not getting away from me that easily” is going to be sooooo satisfying. like 12-year old percy ‘clown energy’ jackson doesn’t even KNOW that in four years time annabeth is literally going to become his anchor to the mortal world, his actual achilles heel. thee best friends to lovers story of all time methinks

Ch 2 - The Snow Is On The Grass Again
The chill of May lingered as Kate set up camp near the riverbank, where patches of snow still clung to the ground. With the water icy cold, bathing was out of the question, but she found comfort in the soothing melody of the flowing stream. Nearby, Lorena grazed peacefully as Kate hummed a tune and cast her line, hoping for a catch to satisfy her hunger.
It had been two weeks since her stagecoach heist with Arthur and Hosea. Since then, Seamus hasn’t given her any more dubious tasks, and she hasn’t seen the two men either. She went back to being a ranch hand for a bit until she told Seamus it was time she moved on again. She followed the river south until she found a suitable spot to set up camp for the night.
It was a beautiful sunny day, but still chilly enough for a jacket. "It's cold, but at least the fish don't seem to mind," Kate remarked to herself as she felt a strong tug on her fishing line. With a flick of her wrist, she hooked the fish and began reeling it in, “Cmon now don’t fight too hard,” she mused to herself.
Lorena whinnied for attention "easy, girl," Kate murmured, as she made a noise behind her again. "Let me pull this in first." Suddenly, the quiet scene shattered as Lorena squealed in fear, her hooves pounding the ground. Kate's heart raced as she spun around, spotting a small copperhead slithering toward her mare.
"Sh-shhh, it's alright, it's just a snake," Kate reassured, her voice trembling slightly. But Lorena, in a state of panic, bolted downstream. With a grunt, Kate abandoned her fishing pole and chased after her horse. "Lorena! It's okay, girl, you're alright!" she called out, her voice echoing over the rushing water.
Though reluctant to admit it, Kate knew this wasn't the first time Lorena had been spooked. Usually, the mare's restlessness signaled impending danger, but snakes remained her Achilles' heel. It was a fear Kate couldn't rid her beloved horse of, even if she tried. Not that she ever would.
As they rounded the bend of the river, Kate lost sight of Lorena, but the mare's hoofprints remained etched in the sand. With a silent prayer, she pressed on, hoping her companion hadn't ventured too far.
━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━
"Think this spot looks good, Uncle Arthur," chirped the little boy from his saddle as they neared the riverbank's edge.
"I think you’re right Jack. Let's give it a shot and see if we can reel in some fish," Arthur replied, guiding Belle to the sandy shore and helping Jack dismount.
Taking the smaller fishing pole from Arthur, Jack asked, "Where should we stand?"
"Right by the shoreline, just follow me," Arthur directed, leading Jack to the water's edge. "See those ripples? That's where you'll want to cast your line. Just aim for that, and you'll snag 'em."
“I wanna try!” He exclaimed impatiently while Arthur baited their lines with cheese.
"Okay kiddo, watch me. Hold the line over your shoulder like this," Arthur demonstrated, guiding Jack's movements. "Now, swing it forward smoothly, using your wrist, not your elbow."
Jack mimicked his uncle's actions eagerly. "Like this?"
"Exactly! Well done, Jack. Now, all we do is wait for a fish to take the bait," Arthur said proudly, as Jack beamed up at him, standing closer by his side.
As Arthur watched Jack with a mixture of pride and guilt, he realized how long it had been since they'd spent quality time together. Since their escape from Blackwater, life had been a whirlwind of tasks assigned by Dutch and taking care of the camp, leaving little room for personal time. He was about to leave camp again when Abigail asked if Arthur would watch Jack for her. Dutch would most likely make a comment about it later, but at the moment he couldn't care.
After a minute of peaceful silence, Jack looked up at him again with a curious expression. "Uncle Arthur, can the fish see us?"
Arthur chuckled at the unexpected question. "Well, not exactly like how you see me. It's a bit blurry for them, I reckon," he replied, scratching his head at the complexity of explaining fish vision to a four-year-old.
"Oh, okay. Can they hear us then?" Jack fired another question.
"Pretty much the same, I suppose," Arthur replied with a grin. "They can hear us, but not as clear as you and I can hear each other. Why all the questions, Jack?"
"Do fish talk?" Jack pressed on, undeterred by his uncle's attempt to change the subject.
Arthur smiled and shook his head. "Well, Jack, do other animals talk?" he countered, hoping to steer the conversation in a different direction.
Jack paused for a moment, pondering the question. "Hmm, nope. Can't think of any," he admitted.
"Exactly. So, no, fish don't talk," Arthur affirmed, looking down at Jack, who seemed lost in thought, gazing at the grasses behind them.
"Uncle Arthur, I'm bored," Jack suddenly declared, breaking the silence.
Arthur let out a quiet sigh, realizing his attempt at fishing with his young nephew hadn't been the most thrilling activity. "Yeah, I figured as much," he muttered to himself. Louder, he addressed Jack, "You know what? Why don't you go explore? Just stay close to me, alright?" But before Arthur could finish his sentence, Jack darted off toward a nearby pool of rocks.
As Arthur continued fishing, lost in his own thoughts, he heard the loud approach of hoofbeats. Instinctively, he jumped to intercept the approaching stranger before they could draw too close to him and Jack. To his surprise, the horse charging toward him was unmistakably Kate's, riderless and wild.
"Ain’t that Kate's horse?" Arthur muttered to himself in disbelief, raising his hands in a futile attempt to calm the agitated mare. "Easy, girl, it's alright," he murmured soothingly.
Jack, drawn by the commotion, hurried to join Arthur, his eyes wide with excitement. "Whoa! Where'd that horse come from?" he exclaimed.
"Stay behind me, Jack. She's spooked, and I don't want her to accidentally harm you," Arthur cautioned. As he tried to assess the situation he recognized it was indeed Kate's horse but was unable to recall its name. Peering down the riverbank where the horse had emerged, he found no sign of its owner.
With gentle words and a steady hand, Arthur coaxed the horse into submission, finally gaining control of the reins. "What kinda trouble you in, girl?" he wondered aloud, stroking her snout.
━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━
As Kate followed the hoof prints of her mare, she rounded another bend in the river and finally spotted her beloved horse. "Oh thank god," she murmured, letting out a relieved sigh. Right before realizing there were two figures accompanying Lorena—a burly man and a small boy, both appearing to have been fishing.
About to call out her gratitude, Kate stopped as the man turned, revealing himself to be Arthur, the same man from the stagecoach incident. Surprised yet somewhat pleased to see him, memories of their previous encounter flooded back, particularly their pleasant conversation during the ride back from Carmody Dell. They had talked about their horses and she knew Lorena was in good hands with him.
"Mr. Morgan! I can't thank you enough. I hope she didn't cause you any trouble," Kate called out, jogging to meet them. Arthur looked up at the sound of his name, visibly relieved at her arrival, replied, "Miss McCanon! I was a little worried when I saw your horse come through here without you."
"She got spooked by a snake, that's all," Kate explained, petting Lorena affectionately. "She's a bit dramatic, though," she added with a hint of amusement.
As a small face peeked around Arthur's frame, Kate smiled warmly, realizing it must be his son. "Your horse is very pretty, miss," the boy remarked shyly.
“Thank you, would you like to pet her?” She asked with a smile, the boy nodded, “she’s a little shy so just go slow, let her come to you.” The child looked up at Arthur and only approached once he nodded a go ahead.
"Getting tired of Seamus' dubious stagecoach business, I take it?" Arthur teased, prompting laughter from Kate. Their banter flowed effortlessly, she found Arthur refreshingly different from most men she encountered. He had a playful and protective aura, with a bit of something else that made her incredibly intrigued. Or maybe it was just because he was handsome.
Kate smiled and shook her head with a laugh, “not quite. Just about time I move on I guess. I was only passin’ through. I see you’re still here enjoying the countryside though, haven’t given up on robbing stagecoaches yet?” She teased back.
Before Arthur could respond, the boy blurted out, "Uncle Arthur and my daddy robbed a—" Arthur swiftly intervened, diverting attention away from the boy's revelation.
"Kids have wild imaginations," Arthur chuckled nervously, steering the conversation back. "So, um, where are you heading? Camping around here?" he inquired.
So Jack is his nephew, Kate smiled to herself, these two were adorably entertaining, her heart panged slightly at the memory of what her life could have looked like. Her grief still makes itself present in the cracks of her being even after all these years. "Just going west, no place in particular. My camp is just downstream," she replied, gesturing in the direction she came from.
Jack tugged on Arthur’s sleeve and motioned for him to bend down, with a slight roll of his eyes he kneeled down to his level, “can we invite her back to camp?” The boy whispered not so quietly.
“Jack you can’t go inviting every stranger you meet back to camp,” he spoke sternly, “you know we’re on the run, we gotta be safe around here.” He added quietly, the boy looked up sadly but nodded in understanding. Arthur entertained the thought of inviting Kate back to the camp, he knew she was taking on odd jobs and constantly on the move. Maybe it wouldn't hurt if she stayed for a few days. He would never admit it, but he was a little disappointed they didn't cross paths again in the two weeks since the heist.
“Ah, hell, why not” he breathed, turning back to Kate, “It’ll get pretty cold tonight, winters still not through in these parts. My camp is up on Horseshoe overlook,” he took his hat off bashfully, “If you’d like a warm fire, and some good company, you're welcome to join us.”
As Kate was about to respond to Arthur's invitation, the rhythmic thud of hooves interrupted them. Two men in detective uniforms descended toward the water, casting a shadow over their gathering. "What a touching and complex circumstance we have here," one of the men remarked as he dismounted, while the other leveled his rifle at Arthur. Sensing danger, Kate instinctively stayed close to her horse.
Protectively, Arthur positioned himself in front of Jack as the man approached. "Arthur, is it? Arthur Morgan?" he inquired, his tone heavy with accusation.
"Who are you?" Arthur countered, his voice tight with tension.
"Yes, Arthur Morgan," the man echoed, “Van Der Linde’s most trusted associate, orphaned street kid seduced by that maniac's silver tongue. And matures into a degenerate murderer.” He finished.
Arthur's tension escalated, leaving Kate astounded. She harbored suspicion that there was more to him than met the eye, but the revelation of being wanted for murder caught her completely off guard. Despite the shock, she found herself even more intrigued by the supposed outlaw.
“I’m agent Milton, and this is agent Ross,” he gestured to the other gentleman holding the rifle. “We’re with the Pinkerton Detective Agency. It's nice to finally meet you,” he looked over at Kate and added, “and you as well miss. Who might you be?”
"Madeleine McCanon," Kate responded, opting for a false name to distance herself from whatever was about to unfold. Agent Milton pressed further, questioning her connection to Arthur.
“Do you know this man?” He inquired, but before she could answer he continued, “because we sure know him.” His tone, that of a detective accustomed to authority, carried a hint of arrogance, as if he relished the prospect of confrontation.
“Oh do you?” Arthur said coldly.
“He’s a wanted man, Miss McCanon,” he said, turning to face her, “There's five thousand dollars for his head alone.” Kate glanced a look at Arthur but made no sign of her surprise.
Arthur chuckled, "Five thousand dollars? For me?" He glanced around casually. "Can I turn myself in?" he quipped.
Agent Milton's expression remained stern. "We want Van der Linde. A man matching his description robbed a train belonging to Leviticus Cornwall a few weeks back."
Kate's memory jolted as she recalled reading about the robbery in the paper. It was carrying money to fund a new oil rig off the Wapiti reservation. Thousands of dollars were stolen, but none of the passengers on the train were injured.
“Ain't that a little old fashioned nowadays?” Arthur attempted, trying to sound innocent.
“Apparently not,” Milton deadpanned, “this is my offer Mr. Morgan: You bring us Van der Linde. And you have my word you won't swing.”
“Oh, I ain't gonna swing anyways agent Milton. You see, I haven't done anything wrong, aside from not playing the game by your rules.” He argued condescendingly.
Milton's tone grew sterner. "I appreciate this society."
“You enjoy being a rich man's toy!” Arthur snapped back.
“You people venerate savagery, and you will die savagely,” Milton emphasized.
Arthur's voice dripped with defiance. "All of us are gonna die someday, agent, some sooner than others."
With that, Milton turned on his heel and walked toward his horse. "Good day to you, Mr. Morgan," he said as he departed. "And if you know what's good for you, Miss McCanon, stay far away from this man. Unless you want to end up dead like his friend Mac Callander."
━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━
Arthur cursed under his breath, " fuck ." He turned to face Kate, Jack looking between them, unsure of what to do next.
Feeling like a complete fool for inviting Kate back to camp, Arthur realized he had just given away Dutch's whereabouts and Milton exposed their crimes to her. He had hoped she would be safe for a night or two at camp without knowing their true identities, but now, with everything at stake, he wrestled with the decision. The lives of his gang were paramount, but involving an innocent woman in their mess weighed heavily on his conscience. He would never force her, but with everything at stake now he hoped she would still come back with him. Or else she might go inform the authorities of their whereabouts.
“So, railway workers from the North huh?” Kate questioned, breaking him from his thoughts.
“If you’ll let me explain miss-” he started, unsure what was about to come out of his mouth.
With the revelation of Arthur's true identity and the dangers it presented, Kate found herself torn between fear and curiosity. While her instincts screamed at her to flee from these outlaws, there was an inexplicable pull towards Arthur. Despite the fear gnawing at her, she couldn't shake the connection she felt with him. There was something in his eyes, a vulnerability masked by his tough exterior, that resonated with her own struggles.
"I'll come with you," she said, her voice steady despite the uncertainty swirling within her. "I've never been one to shy away from a little danger, and besides," she added with a wry smile, "I've always had a knack for finding trouble."
Arthur looked at her, a mixture of surprise and gratitude flickering in his eyes. He knew the risks she was taking by choosing to stand by him, but he also couldn't deny the feeling of relief that washed over him.
His gaze softened and he bent down to lift Jack up onto his saddle, “well, it’s getting late. Want to head back with us?”he asked, settling himself in behind the boy.
Kate nodded and answered, “I’d be happy to. Let me grab my things from camp and I’ll meet you back here,” she replied, gracefully mounting Lorena.
With those words, she cantered off downstream, disappearing into the fading light.
“Why did those men ask where Uncle Dutch is?” Jack questioned, his voice tinged with innocence.
“Because… well, those are disagreeable men. And they want to hurt Dutch.”Arthur explained, his tone grave.
“Like they hurt Mac?” Jack's voice was small, filled with concern.
Arthur hesitated, then replied, “Ahh don't worry about Mac, I’m sure he’s alright wherever he is. They were just trying to scare us is all,” he patted Jack's shoulder reassuringly., “the world is full of disagreeable men. That’s why you got all of us, to protect you from folk like them.”
“Is that why you invited Miss McCanon back to camp, to protect her from the bad guys too?” he asked innocently.
Arthur chuckled, masking his uncertainty. "Uh, yeah, something like that," he replied, the corners of his lips twitching. He wasn't sure why exactly he invited Kate to stay with him, sure, he didn't like the idea of her being alone in the cold. But why did he care? Something about the woman intrigued him, and it wasn't just her pretty horse.
Unexpectedly, Jack's voice piped up again. "Uncle Arthur, what does 'fuck' mean?"
Arthur's laughter bubbled up, realizing the boy listens more than he cares to let on. "It means your mother will slap me if she hears you say that word," he joked, relieved for the distraction.
At that moment, the steady beat of hooves announced Kate's return.

Achilles and Apollo analysis
ty for this ask and i’m sorry it took this long lmao… this also applies to everyone else who submitted an essay suggestion way back then, i’m still gonna be answering those eventually. i’m sorry for the delay lol
Apollo || Achilles parallels
When you consider the actual content of the Iliad, it’s noteworthy that the epic starts with the (almost) simultaneous wrath of Apollo and Achilles. In both cases, the consequence is the death of hundreds, which shows their power. However, they’re different in that Apollo is a) acting on the wishes of a mortal and that b) Apollo chills out when he gets what he wants, Achilles however continues sulking. Unlike Apollo, Achilles attempts to harvest as much as possible from his “divine wrath”, despite Apollo being the actually divine one. To be entirely fair towards Achilles, he is mortal and hence has more to lose/less time to enjoy life to its fullest (source: In Our Time podcast). They are paralleled again in the last book of the Iliad, when Achilles recounts the story of Niobe to Priam. He compares Niobe to Priam, thus comparing himself to Apollo.
Throughout the entire Iliad, Apollo and Achilles follow what I call ‘opposing character arcs’. There’s definitely a proper name for that, but what I mean is that they’re basically headed in opposite directions on the same road. While Achilles needs to be humbled, Apollo needs an ego boost.
To clarify: Apollo is way too attached to mortals during the war, most notably Hector, but also Chryses and if you include backstory, Cassandra. Of course, the other gods also have certain mortals they look after, but no one gets as attached as Apollo does. Artemis (his twin) is completely detached from the war, and Athena (who has a similar amount of screen time) is not attached to the mortals themselves, but rather what they mean to the war. Poseidon cares so little that he, despite being actively on the Greek side, saves Aeneas’ life in order to abide fate. This is how he addresses him after saving him from Achilles:
‘What power, O prince, with force inferior far, // urged thee to meet Achilles’ arm in war? // Henceforth beware, nor antedate thy doom, // Defrauding Fate of all thy fame to come.’
Apollo, on the other hand, saves Hector’s life on many, many occasions, despite knowing his death being ruled by fate. Achilles states this explicitly in Book 20:
Achilles closes with his hated foe, // His heart and eyes with flaming fury glow: // But present to his aid, Apollo shrouds // The favoured hero in a veil of clouds. // Thrice struck Pelides with indignant heart, // Thrice in impassive air he plunged the dart: // The spear a fourth time buried in the cloud; // He foams with fury and exclaims aloud: // ‘Wretch! Thou hast escaped again, once more thy flight // Has saved thee, and the partial god of light. // But long thou shalt not thy fate withstand, // If any power assist Achilles’ hand […]’
The goal of Apollo’s character arc is for him to recognize his superior spot as a god on Olympus.
Achilles is the exact opposite of this. Achilles sees himself as above all others, even above fate itself (paradoxically, that is a mortal thing to think; Zeus, the ultimate immortal, acknowledges his inferiority towards the fates). Achilles is determined to live as long as possible, though he knows that his fate rules otherwise.
As you can see, Apollo and Achilles mirror each other in some way. Nevertheless, within these similarities they remain different. I’ve compiled a list of examples from the Iliad:
Book I: Achilles needs Thetis’/Zeus’ help to execute his wrathful plan, Apollo on the hand can execute his own plan himself,
Book XVI: Apollo helps Hector in killing Achilles, which is directly paralleled to
Book XXIII: Athena helping Achilles kill Hector (note that Achilles and Apollo are on opposite sides of the spectrum; Achilles is the one receiving help, instead of being the one to give it) — p.s.: it’s interesting that Hector was killed due to the help of Athena, his reasonable, divine counterpart, just as Achilles would be killed by Apollo, his vengeful and wrathful divine counterpart (x)
Despite proving himself to be a needy goofball (affectionate), Achilles doesn’t stop from continuously acting like he’s a god.
That is until Patroclus dies. By the end of the epic, both have completed their arc. For Achilles, the turning point comes when Patroclus dies (notably at the hands of Apollo). Following Patroclus’ death, Achilles admits he’s not divine and not even the best of the greeks. He abandons his fear of death, even brings it upon himself and falls in battle, just as was expected of him.
Similarly, Apollo does not intervene to help Hector during the duel. In a way, he even caused it by killing Patroclus. After that, he only shows his affection for Hector by protecting his corpse until Priam can collect it. After the end of the Iliad, by the time Troy has fallen, he’s so detached that he doesn’t even take part in the siege. He doesn’t do anything he shouldn’t to protect anyone he shouldn’t.
Okay, this is the part where I start reading into things that are just Not That Deep, but Apollo and Achilles have both earned themselves a certain level of closure, so here we go.
Regarding their appearance, Apollo and Achilles’ classic feature is their long, blonde hair. I am, of course, an advocate for redhead Achilles, but xanthos (the word used to describe him) can mean blonde. Walter Burkert regards Achilles almost as a “doppelgänger” of Apollo, mainly because of their hair (x). This similarity builds a connection between Apollo and Achilles, which isn’t super deep, but interesting.
The cutting of Achilles’ hair is not only an act of respect to Patroclus, it’s also him giving a part of himself to death, and if you distance yourself from the war motive, it’s the point where Achilles ascends from boyhood to manhood (x). Above I mentioned that their long hair connects Apollo and Achilles — by cutting his hair, Achilles is removing the one big connection he still had to Apollo and thereby his strive for divinity.
Apollo gets his closure by basically killing Achilles through Paris, whom he uses as a tool without getting attached to him. Achilles’ death could also be symbolic for Apollo killing the mortal part of himself, which Achilles represents. Walter Burkert says Achilles’ death at the hand of Apollo specifically was unavoidable since “the hero [is] an obscure reflection of the god in the indissoluble polarity of sacrifice” (x, trans.). By the time Euripides’ Orestes takes place, Apollo is acting very much like Athena, manipulating and toying from high above instead of being sentimental. He ruthlessly destroys Orestes’ life for no reason other than the fact that he wanted to.
To me, the hate between Apollo and Achilles might very well stem from disguised self-hatred — they see in the other their own flaws and direct the anger that the self-reflection causes on each other. Beyond this (at risk of sounding too much like Troy the film), it might be jealousy for what the other possesses, namely divinity or mortality for which they long so much.

So about Terence and Dion
tldr; these two are really, really similar to Patroclus and Achilles
So a couple weeks after the game was released I tweeted this.
Tumblr media
Of course two months later while doing some research for a WIP teredio fic I develop a brainrot so strong about this very comparison
disclaimer: this is all purely speculation made out of 7 hours of brainrot. I am not in any way an expert in greek mythology and i cannot even afford a PS5. This is purely a fun write-up I made in hopes of my hyperfixation reaching other people who also adore this pairing. This is also VERY long and windy.
Right, firstly, I don't think it is a reach to make this comparison at all; if anything, I am more surprised by how few people have actually posted anything in the interwebs about this (I found like, one other tumblr post, but I am also not a part of the ship Discord server for this pairing so I might just be late to the party 🤷‍♀️).
FF16 is FULL of references to greek mythology and culture. Cid's last name Telamon is the name of one of the Argonauts, Charon is the name of the ferryman to the underworld who requires payment for passage to the underworld, Ambrosia is the food of the gods, and those are just the simple ones that I think most people can tell from modern pop culture references. Comparing Terence and Dion to Patroclus and Achilles, one of the most famous greek relationships between two adult men, is really not that far of a reach.
Actually, the thing that got me to tweet that teredio reminds me of patrochilles is the whole hero-and-squire relationship they got going on since the very beginning. Terence is technically Dion's second-in-command, but with that opening scene of Terence holding onto Dion's spear and then followed by the cutscene of him tending to Dion's arm in the camp which is also followed by thee kiss scene? Doesn't take a meta analysis to draw the line from one ship to another
(Also the hero with blonde hair and his lover with dark brown hair 👀 but this is more of a common trope rather than something specific to patrochilles)
And that is where I left my teredio-is-like-patrochilles thoughts for a good while. I spent the next two months RTing all the gorgeous teredio fanarts on twitter, read a few teredio fanfics, then onto other FF16 ships like a normal person.
(my personal favourite for the longest time is Cid x Clive; the longfics for this pairing are insanely good..)
Then I decided to write a oneshot for teredio about their servant-and-master relationship (at least, that's how they worded it in the game).
I wanted to find a better way to describe their relationship in my fic; still sticking to the term master and servant as it is canon in the english script, but not neccessarily implying an irreconcilable difference in social standing or power imbalance. My searches somehow led me to biblical fanfiction, in which I find some very interesting takes on David and Jonathan, which then leads me to a wikipedia page about David and Jonathan --
and then back to where I began, Patroclus and Achilles.
except when I first made that comparison, it was just a tweet off the top of my head. I read Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller in 2016, and I do not remember everything that happens in that book. All I remember is roughly the overall feel of the relationship and that these two greek characters died tragically and that their ashes are buried together.
So imagine my surprise when I see this image on the wikipedia page for Patroclus and Achilles.
Tumblr media
The caption says: Achilles bandaging the arm of Patroclus.
I do not have 4k screencaps the exact scene so have this image i copied off GamesRadar off a lousy google search
Tumblr media
Great, so they both share an arm-bandaging scene. Doesn't make them any more similar, you'd say. Also, didn't I just draw similarities from Achilles to Dion and Patroclus to Terence in the beginning? This one is completely swapped!
Well give me a moment to recover from the shock of seeing what looks very similar to a ship i like on a real-life greek pottery painting, and let's get to actually comparing details.
Tumblr media
Quick note, I will be using in-game canon, the information from the newly released FF16 ultimania, descriptions from homeric traditions, and also the book Song of Achilles (SoA). You can argue that using Song of Achilles as a reference is a stretch because it is a romance book that treats patrochilles as a canon homosexual relationship, but honestly Madeline Miller took 10 years to write that book and I don't think I can compete with her amount of research in 7 hours.
What's similar:
Terence is the son of a minor noble family in Sanbreque (from the Ultimania), and Patroclus is the son of Menoetius, one of the Argonauts. They are both from 'lesser' lineages in comparison to their partners, but is still technically born into nobility.
Terence and Dion grew up together after meeting each other in school at age 7 (from the Ultimania), and Patroclus and Achilles grew up together in Phthia after Patroclus was exiled. Both are childhood friends who grew into adulthood together.
Terence is instated as Dion's squire at age 12 (from the Ultimania), and Patroclus is given to Achilles by Achilles' father Peleus as his henchman (from the Illiad, though translations differ) or his trusted brother-in-arms (from SoA). Both are bound by duty to their partners from a young age.
Terence is Dion's second-in-command during the events of the game, and Patroclus is Achilles' right-hand-man during the events of the Trojan War (from the Illiad and SoA). Both are confidants to their partners during war times.
Dion is the dominant of Bahamut and the prince of Sanbreque, Achilles is the son of the Nereid Thetis and a mortal king Peleus. Both are born into nobility and are famous for their inhuman battle prowess.
Dion's main weapon of choice is a lance, and Achilles was given the legendary Pelian Spear by Chiron the Centaur before he participated in the Trojan War (from the Illiad). Both notably use spears/lances/pokey sticks.
I think those are the main similarities that I can in good faith say are pretty obvious. Next are the things that I personally think might be slightly delusional depending on the angle you approach the premise from.
What can be a bit of a reach:
The arm bandaging scenes. Assuming it is to relief the pain from the Crystal's Curse, Dion is not the only dominant to start petrifying from his arm. Cid also has similar marks on his arms and Clive's hand eventually petrifies. However, it is also the first scene where we explicitly see the extent of Dion and Terence's relationship.
There is no mention about Terence's relationship with his family, while Patroclus is notably exiled from his father's lands -- that's how he gets to Phthia and meets Achilles. Instead, we know that Dion's family did not love him (from the Ultimania)
Dion is the son born of a courtesan, and his father had her killed after buying him from her (from the Ultimania). Achilles is born of Peleus basically binding and coercing Thetis after she is gifted to Peleus by Zeus and Poseidon. Both tales frame the image of both men's fathers being not exactly good people, and their marriages and the births of their sons would be important to mark the start of upcoming events (the Judgement of Paris took place at the wedding of Thetis and Peleus, Dion's birth and awakening backs Sylvestre's claim to the throne). I call this sort of a reach because this doesn't exactly play into the relationships' dynamics per se, just a reminder that their fathers are horrible people 🤷‍♀️
There is an element of fate in Achilles' death, where the god Apollo is said to have guided the arrow Paris shot to Achilles' heel. The dominants in the game have on multiple occasions been mentioned to be slaves to their own fates, and the main theme of the game has much to do with defying fate decided by gods, even if it means die trying. Dion 'dies' defying the fate Ultima has decided for humanity, so I guess there is a similarity?
This is the biggest reach of all lol. So remember that I mentioned Telamon, Cid's last name, is also the name of one of the Argonauts? Telamon is also the older brother of Peleus, Achilles' father. Now, I do not think that this is the only explanation as to why the writers chose the name Telamon out of all the other greek names. The writers managed to shove in 3 different thunder gods into Cid's character, and I refuse to believe that they chose the name just because Telamon is somewhat related to Achilles. Telamon is also the father to Ajax the Great who is a notable hero, but Ajax is like, second to Achilles in fame and I don't really see a FF16 character that can be somewhat related to Ajax..
Okay, so what does this all mean?
Honestly I don't know lol
Terence x Dion, unlike many other ships I've liked, is an actually canon ship at some point in the game's story. Even without the comparison, the ship still stands as confirmed to be canon. Drawing lines from two greek mythology characters to them does not make the ship any more canon than it already is.
But the game's story also doesn't shed much light on the ship itself, not in the base game at least. Fair enough, it is Clive's story and not Dion's story, so Terence, who doesn't play a part in Clive's story, doesn't get to be in the spotlight for long. Dion's conflict with his own father is also given more weight to Dion's character development. We're given so little information about Terence that when the Ultimania came out I was just happy I get more crumbs of lore to work with.
I don't think the devs took direct inspiration from the tale of Achilles and Patroclus either. We've learned that FF16 is just a melting pot of all the storytelling and worldbuilding elements we loved from FFXIV, FF12, GoT, greek mythology, classic FF and media tropes, and so much more. The most I can think of is that the writers wanted to write a canon gay love story that people will love, and in doing so they picked out the romance tropes and stories that have been widely accepted and loved for a long time. Childhood friends to lovers, unrequited first loves that eventually became mutual in the threat of separation, the second-in-command who is loyal in both duty and matters of the heart.
If the tale of Achilles and Patroclus happens to fall under that category, needless to say I am very happy with the writers' decision. If not, well consider this just a very very long headcanon post
If you've never read anything related to patrochilles and is interested, I highly recommend reading the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller! Prepare about half the amount of tissue you've used for FF16 and you're all set for a heartbreaking love story 🥰
Also I hope these two don't die as tragically as Achilles and Patroclus.
