Arone hums happily as she walks down the nighttime streets, just the barest bit of a buzz and a head full of pleasant thoughts, both brought on from a relaxed evening trying out a new bar, or new to her in any case. The random urge to try something new had turned out very nicely, and she had come out of it with a watering hole and a few new friendly aquaintences, including the witty bartender that had been serving her. Always a good idea to be friendly and tip well with the bartender, after all.

The good mood is briefly soured by the fact that, given how nice the evening is, she managed to forget her coat in the bar. She grumbles wordlessly for a moment, but shrugs it off and breaks into an easy jog back towards the bar. Not a huge deal, and certainly not something worth ruining her mood with. Just go to make it back and hope that bartender hasn’t left yet. I think she said her name-. Her thoughts are interrupted as she spots what looks like two men heading towards the bar as well, and looking quite shifty as well. She slows for a moment, then resumes her jog with a frown, hoping the situation isn’t as weird as it looked, but not wanting to take that chance.

Farryn smiles at the other person. They aren't sure if they should be honest about all they've done to get here. Would that be too much for a stranger to take in? Then again, they've never been one to worry about that kind of thing. Better to weed out those who wouldn't be likely to become friends anyway, in Farryn's view. So, with another smile, they say: "I walked all night long in the dark just to be standing here." A chuckle escapes them. "So as you can probably tell, I really want to be here. What about you? What do you think of the event?"

Farryn has been to many events in their time, but they were really looking forward to this one. And for a change, they hadn't been the one to start it. This event is being thrown by someone else. Friend of a friend. Or an acquaintance of an acquaintance. Farryn can't always tell. They tend to assume that those who keep them in their lives are their friends, but of course, it could just be out of politeness. Still, Farryn hopes not. They would like to think they're an approachable person and that if someone really didn't want to be friends, they would say so. Farryn does know conflict can be hard for some people, though. And they have so much compassion for that, they really do.

Kitten is absolutely loving Pari’s hair, trying not too stare too hard. It’s giving her ideas, though, in that she should dye her hair a bright color. Maybe a pink would do, something like Barbie would want.

She smiles and nods, deciding that she’d try and compliment the other woman. She enjoyed brightening people’s days, anyways, and so she approaches. “Hello! I just happened to see your hair and I adore it. Has anyone told you blue is your color? Darling, it’s stunning to have such lovely hair!”

Hax having Taygete, because plotting that with Pyro was fun, designing Taygete was also fun, and Hax has always wanted to be a Ren, so to give them that was nice I'm happy people like her as well, she's adorable, a little bit of a mischief maker, and I'm excited to see how she grows on the blog tbh. She'll be around more after Hax recovered and goes on the angst break (b/c i owe it to them it's been one thing after another, sorry Hax ;;n;;)

"Hey, no worries!" He grinned shaking his head softly. "I got curious about why these things were called balls in the first place and before I know it I got an invitation." The blonde explained with a grin. "I know like one person here but what's one more." He shrugged holding a hand out for her.

With a quiet pop of displaced air and a soft flash of golden light, Driv appears in a new world, head swinging this way and that as he takes in his surroundings. It seems to early night, with the area light semi-adequately with artificial street lights. Judging by that, the forms of the buildings around him, and the few cars nearby, he is in one of the more advanced worlds he had visited, comparatively. Such fun things, the humans of these worlds generally have developed!

His quick musings are interrupted as he notices he is not alone, a lone figure standing quite close to him. He quickly forms a closed lips smile at them, making sure not to show fangs as he tries to let out a friendly, “Hello there!” Of course, there is every chance he doesn’t make it that far before the inevitable mix of screaming, yelling, and/or cursing, but he can try, right?

🚩 and i'll share my unpopular rpc opinions and hot takes. bonus points if you include a specific topic to talk about, like follower count, softblocking, graphics, etc.

This kinda goes off of my last one that I posted on my old blog, but...communication is so important in the RPC. Like if I accidentally break one of your rules or do something wrong, let me know! Odds are I'm unaware of it, and will absolutely correct my behavior once I become aware of it. I do understand why people don't, of course I do. But I do feel it would be better in the long run, if people did communicate about these things.

RP is a collaborative hobby, and that means we're all working together to have fun writing. And personally, I have a lot more fun when I know if something has gone wrong. How can I improve if I don't know that, after all?

I do understand that confrontation can be hard, of course I do. But tbh, it doesn't have to be a "confrontation." It can just be a friendly message of "hey, you broke my rule about X when you did XYZ. Please be mindful of it in the future." or "Hey,you really hurt my feelings when you did ABC. Please don't do something like that again." Obviously, if someone reacts badly to a message like that, any RPer would be well within their rights to soft or hard block. But I do think that most RPers wouldn't. Most RPers, myself included, would be like "oh I'm sorry, I'll keep that in mind for the future."

And I think it's hard to be constantly soft/hard blocked/unfollowed, to lose writing partners you enjoy interacting with and not know WHY. Personally, I'd rather at least know if I have done something wrong, so that I can do better in the future. Obviously, sometimes it isn't a case of someone doing something wrong, but more a case of writing styles/rules not meshing. And that's fine. But if that IS the case, I think people should let others know, especially if they were mutuals. That way, the person isn't left wondering "hmmm wonder what went wrong there". Often, when people do soft/hard block or unfollow me, I'm always wondering why. And if I knew the answer to that, well....that would make it a lot easier to deal with.
