Look, I gotta be honest, I've never actually watched One Piece outside of the episodes that would air on Toonami back in the day, and I only really cared enough about it because my brother-in-law and my irl best friend both LOVE One Piece... and now my older brother is getting into One Piece too... but like I said in a previous post, I caved and ended up watching the One Piece Live Action (though I guess it didn't help that seeing Taryn cosplay as Zoro kinda reawakened my crush on ZoloZoro as a 4kids)... and I'm also sick right now and I have nothing better to do than write some Zoro boyfriend headcanons apparently. Aside from watching the OPLA, I did do my research on Zoro.. research being reading his page on the OP Wiki 😂😂

The way Mackenyu said that he looked at his wife and knew that he wanted to marry her (supposedly, I couldn't find any concrete sources for this save for a YouTube video using TTS... but hey, it fed my imagination for this), I felt that so much for Zoro.

Of course, it doesn't happen overnight for Zoro. It takes a while, maybe even years, for him to look at you and be like, "I wouldn't mind settling down with you if possible." Oh boy, but when it does happen, he becomes very perceptive of you.

Just like his training, he takes his relationship with you very seriously, and even if he doesn't act on his feelings for you straight away--because one, he has a strong sense of duty to Luffy first, and two, you'd be his first and maybe only romantic partner ever--he'd still reserve a certain amount of softness and gentleness to you when not in the presence of others.

Let's go back to Zoro's perceptiveness really quickly. Yes, my man can be a dumbass at the best and worst of times and we all love that about him, but when it comes down to what's important, he knows how to analyze and read the situation. So, because he views you as someone important and someone he should take seriously, he's going to personally be making sure that you're okay, mentally, emotionally, and physically. He's that dedicated to you.

There will be times where his loyalty to Luffy might have to take center stage in the relationship, especially if its during a critical juncture, rest assured that he will do his best to make it up to you afterwards. He doesn't voice it often because of his strong loyalty to Luffy, but there are brief times in which he wishes that he could just spend time with you.

Now, Zoro isn't one for PDA, he gets very embarrassed by it because showing affection in public isn't something that he's comfortable with doing, but, get him out of public and into private, that man is on you, no question. The most affection he's comfortable with showing in public is you two taking a nap together, or even sharing a bottle together (which is very hard to get him to do, the man loves his alcohol, so congrats if you manage it).

As an official romantic partner, he's actually very sweet. Yes, he can come off as very blunt and cold sometimes, but he's just being honest with you. To him, its more important to be truthful than to sugarcoat things. For you, however, he's working on saying things more gently if in the case you get hurt by his initial blunt tendencies. Past that, however, he tends to you with the same care he tends to his swords. He sees a fruit or snack that you adore in the markets when he's helplessly lost? He'll absolutely buy it for you. Finds an item you've been wanting for a while? Don't worry, he's already paying for it. He finds out that you maybe feel a bit homesick? He'll begrudgingly ask Sanji to cook one of your favorite hometown dishes. He sees that you're feeling down on yourself? He's there to either quietly lend an ear or his presence, whichever you need. My man is an attentive boyfriend.

Also also, Zoro is a man of few words, so don't expect to hear him say, "I love you," very often, but that's okay. He's a man of few words, but his actions speak so much for him. You can feel him say those words in the way he kisses you thoughtfully, in the way he holds you so securely to him when you two nap or sleep together, in the way he dutifully monitors your alcohol intake (if you drink alcohol of course), in the way he tends to you carefully if you get hurt in a fight. To him, words are useless and actions mean so much more.

In other words, Zoro would make the best boyfriend in his special own way.

so I've been playing gta 5 for the first time with my boyfriend, and only naturally in all my autistic whimsy i have to combine all my fave things Wouldn't it be hilarious if Trevor Philips was Gary Smith's dad? They even look kind of alike which is funny, same hair colour, same hairline LMAO, kind of same nose? taking this from the wiki to give it some kind of backthought?? - "His background is mostly unknown. He cites his parents as one of his "problems". Miss Abby speaks poorly of Gary's mother, and Mr. Smith is suggested to be Gary's grandfather since he shares the same last name and complains about the state of the family. Donald can be heard to mention that Mr. Smith (referencing either Gary's father or Grandfather) was kicked out of Bullworth Academy and went to prison. If this were true in reference to Gary's father, it could help explain Gary's behavior." Gary's Father isn't actually known, so it's open to headcanons and interpretations really. Would also explain why Gary is so fucked up - don't make me justify myself on this one, you know what Trevor is like. and if Trevor WAS Gary's dad, I wonder what he was like when he was present? I assume he left at a young age but, how terrible was his parenting lol And my boyfriend made a funny; Juri the jock could be related to Niko from GTA 4. I feel like Michael would probably be a distant uncle to Jimmy, that'd be hilarious. Imagine some bullworth students go on a trip to Los Santos, Gary sees his dad and is all like, WTF, then Jimmy sees his uncle and is just as confused. And obviously Jimmy's dad is James Earl Cash. sry everyone my OC lore really is all over the place and there's no place where it's all organized either lmao. i mainly made these guys as a random personal project to help me understand myself and other humans better bc i don't know how they work and i guess ppl on the internet became more interested in this than i thought

Maybe you can do a post with each characters' initials as used for ship names? That way people can try to search for their ships themselves by putting in each of the 2 possible combinations of characters? Also any exceptions to the ship naming conventions that you know of. 🤔

That's a very good idea!

I can explain the usual formula of how it works and I'll give some of the most popular examples :3 I'll do this with japanese names only, because... I don't know ANY korean sorry lol

Let's try it with Toritsuka x Saiki.

Basically, 90% of the ship names work by taking the first letter of the characters last names and putting them together. 斉木＋鳥束＝斉鳥　(Saiki + Toritsuka = SaiTori) OR 鳥束＋斉木＝鳥斉　(Toritsuka + Saiki = ToriSai)

If you don't know how the characters names are spelled, you can easily check it on either the japanese wikipedia article for Saiki, or go to the Saiki Fandom Wiki >:)

The important thing is that the first person's letter in the initial indicates that they're the dominant one in the relationship. Japanese artists make sure to tag different dynamics properly. ToriSai and SaiTori aren't the same thing! It's best to avoid tagging them inproperly if uploading your own work on pixiv or places like that. Don't be shocked when seeing Saiki being bottom in a work tagged #torisai lmao

Some tags with the same ship will be less popular than the others, but if you don't mind either, you can check both combinations each time.

There are exceptions! Some ships with side characters that might collide with a prexisting ships usually resort to using their first names. Example: For Makoto x Kuusuke, we don't say TeruSai (照斉) like their names suggest. We use MakoKuu (信空) instead.

Some examples I've seen the most often: (for more obscure dynamics, just switch the kanji order around.)

ToriSai or SaiTori - #鳥斉 or #斉鳥 KuboKai - #窪海 or #海窪 TeruSai or SaiTeru - #照斉 or #斉照 KuboSai - #窪斉 SaiKai - #斉海 KuboTori - #窪鳥 NenSai - #燃斉

Blitz is literally attached to the Decepticons by nothing other than the fact he's scared of Megatron, it says so on the wiki even. And now Megatron is gone so technically there's nothing holding him back from doing what he wants and ditching everything to pursue the yellow scout that stole his Spark.

Prowl knew Bee for a while and had grown to admire him in secret. He never thought about asking him out cuz there was never an occasion- plus he thinks that Bee will turn him down cuz he's so different from him. (even if they get along great as they are)

Longarm/Shockwave is just stuck in a perpetual loop of "What's more important: Job or Love?" So he's just trying to cope with everything at once- seeing how every choice will impact his and Bee's life and all. It's a lot even for his processor. Although, similar to Blitz, Megs is gone atm so there's nothing holding him back from casually switching sides once and for all and devoting his life to Bee.

Bee is just there very confused and worried to why everyone wants to date him all of a sudden. I mean, he likes the attention but he doesn't like how possesive each of them get. He doesn't wanna be treated like a prize, but like a loved one. Bulkhead is just trying to help him out and so is the rest of the team- when Bee suddenly disappears they don't tell Prowl or Longarm where he went on purpose. Prowl is smart enough to understand Bee avoids him which saddens him. He wants to apologize but he never gets an opportunity.

Tbh after Blitz reveals Longarm is a spy there are 2 routes it can go; Longarm gets arrested and Bee is hurting cuz he did like him and Shockwave is just being depressed in his prison cell. Or Longarm pulls an uno reverse and says he's been an Autobot spy in disguise and been doing infiltration missions in secret to get Decepticon files, effectively earning him a good favor with Bee. (he's not really registered in the criminal records, he has access to that if he needed to delete it and all his actions have been anonymous from the start, few know of Shockwave's existance.)(Blitz knew Shockwave for a bit but he is too dumb to see thru Long's lie.)

Either way it's most likely that both Blitzwing and Prowl get to date Bumblebee. If Shockwave does decide to pull the uno reverse then he tags along too. Don't worry they learn to share nicely and that there is enough love for everyone.

my own personal opinion on the rottmnt turtles in hogwarts houses:

Miguel: Ravenclaw. Mikey is SUPER creative, it's kind of his thing. Ravenclaws also value wit, and all of Mikey's jokes are well-timed, he's got a mental sharpness and has an inventive way to make a joke. He's also really smart - the episode with the mystic metal? he says to raph "we're not saying you never have good ideas, we're just saying that sometimes we do to!" he's got street smarts and creative smarts, and strategic smarts. (he could really be any house, i think

Ravenclaw would be the best fit tho) he's the ravenclaw who you think doesn't belong there, but once you get to know the house you'd never be able to imagine him anywhere else.

Big Red: Hufflepuff! Raph is like ... the definition of Hufflepuff. Loyalty, patience, trust, strong sense of justice, hard-working. Literally Raph. I think he could be in Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, but Hufflepuff would suit him best (in my opinion.) Plus, he's always trying to better the team by doing team building exercises (at least i think he does that often, seems like something he'd do) and teamwork is a big part of the hufflepuff house. he's the stereotype of the house - looks open and friendly, who's hugs are warm and safe.

Von Ryan: Slytherin. Before anyone yells, I'm both a donnie kinnie and a slytherin. Donnie belongs here lmao. The way he always tries to improve himself and is extremely goal-oriented. Slytherins value resourcefulness, and Donnie has had to learn to be resourceful when living in the sewers. He gets all of his stuff from a junkyard. Plus, dry humor? perfectionist? big on cost/benefit analysis? donnie fr. he seems like the stereotypical slytherin, the one who's quiet and everyone thinks is evil. (he'd also excel at potions.)

Leon: Tbh, he's pretty hard. I think he could either be gryffindor or slytherin, but also ravenclaw and fit almost perfectly in those houses, but I think he belongs in slytherin. im also a leo kinnie (heh) and honestly? Sarcastic humor, confident (or pretends to be,) competitive and charismatic? literally both signs of gryffindor and slytherin? it's so hard but he has a practical eye and the ability to quickly adapt when needed. he also has a lot of common sense, instead of taking on things he knows he can't do he results in something achievable (paper theives) and he's incredibly persuasive, a trait valued by slytherins. he seems like the slytherin who thinks they're better than everyone else, and once you get to know them you realize they actually are.

April: Hard one! She's so spunky and full pf personality (i love her so much) but i think she belongs in gryffindor. The first episode alone shows me that. Gryffindor traits are bravery, honor, loyalty, boldness and have strong moral centers. I think this is mostly shown in her interactions with the boys. (which is like the only interactions she has ok i know) She's willing to dive head-first into a conflict if it meant she could help her family somehow. There's no doubt that she would go to the ends of the earth for them, and if you think she'd turn her back her boys, you're crazy.

Cassandra: Gryffindor. Don't argue. When reading her wiki (it describes the characters way more in depth than i could) it talks about how much she values being loyal to the foot clan and how energetic/enthusiastic she is. She's courageous and stands up for what she believes is right, just like a gryffindor. She's always wanting to better herself and is quite stubborn.

Casey Jr: I know what house he's in, but i almost didn't want to sort him because it meant someone would be alone...he's a hufflepuff, through and through (i feel bad for leaving mikey alone, but he'll make friends soon enough.) Casey is hard-working and loyal, as we can see in the movie - taking on the mission leo told him to, and not once complaining, just worried about how he could complete it. He has honest the whole way through, not sugar coating anything to beating around the bush. and unafraid of being direct. He's also very polite and kind (i love him guys) and listens to other's input and ideas.

heyyy question. do we know for sure how old Chilchuck's daughters are, because I keep seeing that they're 16 & 14, but that would mean he was 12 (or maybe 13 if we're generous) when the oldest were born. I've also seen that the age of maturity for half-foots is 14 or 15, and yet there's never any mention of him having his children particularly young? idk I'm just a little confused on the math there. (and yeah, I know a year or two under the age of maturity isn't a lot, but half-foot lives are so short, surely it is to them!!) any thoughts on this?

but, to be more serious--half-foot culture is, from what we can see, heavily gendered, with a large focus on housewives and working husbands. in such a society it does not even remotely surprise me that someone would get pregnant before they were a full adult. i don't remember where the girls' ages come from, but as garbage as the wiki is, it does pull from the canon sources, so it's most likely correct. we know all 3 girls are adults, so at minimum puckpatti HAS to be 14, either way. and i'm reasonably positive we know for sure meijack and flertom are 2 years older than her.

if you want my specific headcanon, childhood friends chilchuck & his wife (i feel weird calling her jaylark when i'm trying to talk meta...) were teenagers having sex and when a pregnancy occurred, it was 100% socially acceptable (maybe even expected) to go "welp, guess we're having a kid now" and see it through. having another one that same year was either more carelessness or deciding eh, fuck it, why not two? (i wonder if flertom was Too Much considering it took two years for them to have puckpatti.)

were they ready for kids? probably not, no. but if nothing else chilchuck seems to have taught his daughters some lessons from it all, because flertom and puckpatti remain unwed and without kids as adults. (meijack too, but she doesn't seem to care, whereas her sisters want to fix it ASAP.)

anyway--that very "citation needed" note has been there so long it's just funny at this point. is no one updating that wiki? like, that has to be the case, a vast amount of it is unfinished or has outdated info from before the manga finished. but, yeah, we don't really need a citation for that, we been knew LMAO

-i'm imagining for this au everyone's middle school aged, so still like, kids, just a bit older

-ignore the fact that i fucked up the colors on all the text i SHOULD have had the colors shift between lines it helps legibility but i didn't fsr??? i'll figure that out in later art dw

-GOD THESE COLORS TOOK FOREVER the og colors are SUPER desaturated and also more on the pink side of purple but I prefer to use saturated colors and wanted to go more towards the blue side of purple (than the colors are closer to complimentary colors between mysterion and kenny)

-ended up going with a very soft look (rounded edges and ovals and softer lines) i was thinkng off of the batman inspo actually and thinking about that scene in the lego batman movie where the brick notes batmans design isn't very hero looking, i mean it is by western standards but like when i think of a good hero and symbol of justice and hope i think of twintaild magical girls with ultra frilly skirts and cute mascots and sparkles and stars everywhere but like.. i'm biased.... anyway I chose the softer lines to make him feel softer and instead relied any edgy vibes on the colors and body language rather than the shapes (i mean i still used triangles but yeah)

-I ended up not going with brown boots cause i didn't want to have to tie in another color, and i had the epic idea of the little question mark symbols on the soles of the shoes and the m logo on the ... toungue i think it's called?

-so I originally wasn't gonna show his hair but I thought it would help to balance the colors more as the white shorts felt too bright

-i went with rounded feet to make him feel like, floaty?

-one smaller challenge was keeping a short stature for kenny while still making him look like, menancing and powerful, another reason why i went with the graceful floaty feet, I also had the shorts flair out with that triangle shape like they do to emphasize and blend together the general shape of the body

-miiight have accidentally made him more androgynous~ my ass spent years studying and learning how to make characters appear masculine than said 'yeah no thankyou everyone is going to be at least a LITTLE bit pretty <3'

-ah look how nice and not over crowded the doodles are... yeah say goodbye to empty space cause Cartman/theCoon's completely lacks it. I like drawing fluffy animal ears and found the need to label all the drawings "furry" or "menance" so yeah

-i'm that one bitch that says fuck canon even canon doesn't give a shit bout canon so why should i? and never draws kenny with blue eyes, always either light brown or preferrable purple. mostly cause i feel blue + blonde is too basic and I find that the purple makes for a nicer contrast and overall pallete. Cause brown kinda just blends in, cause then his entire color scheme is all within the same hue range, but purple sticks out better + leaning into the magenta side of it looks great with orange

-funfacts!! considered having the buckles be silver instead of gold (changed to balance with the blonde hair and tie back in the orange/yellow hues) considered having the inside of the cape be a lighter shade of purple either pulling in more pink or blue tinted shades, changed cause it made the overall color scheme to bright

Sorry I took a minute to answer this, it has been a crazy busy couple of days! I'm going to put my whole response under a read more because I have lots of thoughts on this topic!!!

We all took for granted how insane and amazing TS2 lore was. God, I pour one out for her everyday RIP.

Anyway, let's get into this! ↓

Strangetown is my favorite world in TS2 as well! No one is surprised by this I'm sure. I actually ended up tying it (and some of its townies 👀...) into my Strangerville story because I just couldn't help myself. But I'll be honest - the family tree stuff with Lola/Chloe/Jenny/Pollination Tech 9 has always made my brain melt a little. I'm a visual person so I had to reference their family tree as a guide for our conversation. I'll provide the one that I used below!

Lore-wise, you have to start this conversation by talking about alien pollination and normal sim reproduction. You just can't avoid it. For me, I've always seen them as completely separate entities... otherwise Jenny is married to a man who, for lack of a better term, knowingly banged and impregnated her father lmfao. But not only that - if they were the same, that would imply that aliens are abducting people and engaging in sexual relations with them (with willingness or unwillingness not playing a factor; sim abductions can happen to sims who want or fear them) and this is kind of reductive and uncharacteristic of what we know about their species (plus the implications are icky imo). Therefore, I never thought that Pollination Tech 9 would view Lola and Chloe as his children, even though they technically are, in the way that Poli Tech wouldn't view Tycho as his child either (nor would Pascal regard Poli Tech as the father either).

If I'm recalling correctly, I don't think sims are necessarily aware which alien pollinated them in game (even though each sim neighborhood in TS2 has only one Pollination Technician, therefore making all the half-alien babies in that neighborhood half-siblings by default within the limited span of the game). I also don't know that male sims in TS2, from what I remember, are aware they've been pollinated because they're always surprised to find they're "pregnant," meaning there likely wasn't any a-typical intercourse happening that they could connect to the pregnancy (even if, let's be honest, Pascal might have been down for that). I think of pollination as an act similar to cloning, (the wiki says through "advanced technology") or as the name implies it could also just be a consequence of coming into proximity with their species (their name being a reference to reproduction methods of flora by pollination, for example). But realistically... it's a fictional simulation game, and in the case of TS2 it was super campy and a knowingly-leaning-into-the-outrageous kind of simulation game (which I loved and miss). So who knows!

All that to say that I agree; regardless of how the baby process works for aliens, it is still an absolutely crazy family tree lmao. But on the bright side... that at least implies that Pollination Tech 9 wasn't into his wife's father, nor might he be aware that Chloe and Lola are his children. 😅 But I'll stop here because if I think about it for too long, I think my brain might explode lmao. Still, I'm inclined toward the belief that the messiness adds to the flavor! 😂 The Sims team today could never write such a juicy bit of lore. My ass ate their dynamic up.

Oh I loved (and still love) Nervous Subject and Pascal together. Just thinking about that ship makes me giggle because it was one of my first exposures to "shipping" and "fandoms" as a preteen. I always put them together and had them raise little Tycho to fulfill Nervous' family aspiration. (I should note that I was also an avid JRO enthusiast. Johnny has two hands, why should he have to pick between Ophelia and Ripp?) Another interesting layer to the Ophelia/Olive/Nervous family is that Ophelia would be unaware of her direct relation to Nervous (1st cousins)! I loved playing around with this; Olive was a very secretive person who had a dark side for sure, so I'm sure Ophelia would have a lot of questions following her aunt's death (the first being why her aunt's inheritance is going to some rando named Nervous lmao). Plus, who says Ophelia didn't know her aunt was taking people out? She might not have known why, but she had to know all those deaths around Olive couldn't have been coincidental. That's messed up on its own lmao. I like to think that once Nervous and Ophelia meet, they become close and he even helps care for her in a weird-older-brother type way. I just know they would trauma bond lmao.

I didn't care for Loki or Circe (I never played with their household), so I don't have super strong opinions on them. That being said, I love reading people's theories on their connection to the Curious brothers. I think the ongoing feud with the brother's and their connection to Nervous is the most interesting part of their story, but my ideal ending for them would have been being exiled from the town and their careers in general for their shady practices. Pascal seemed like the science antithesis to Loki and Circe who seemed to believe that it was okay for scientific truths to come at the cost of the wellbeing of others. Also, I think Circe is too hot and too evil for Loki AND Vidcund. That's woman commits many crimes, but her taste in men is up there as one of the worst things about her lmao.

Lastly, LAZLO. He's so silly goofy and so chill in comparison to his brothers, and he's definitely the black-sheep of the family. I love how in comparison to Vidcund and Pascal, his personal life is pretty typical and mild. He's just vibing as a third party witness to the chaos. He didn't sign up for any of the drama, yet you know he's a ride-or-die. In my mind, he's also the cool uncle. He'd catch Johnny smoking and be like, "Gotta share little man." He's the best. Little Fun fact - when I watched season 4 of Stranger Things, I couldn't unsee Lazlo Curious every time Argyle opened his mouth.

If you don't see it, that's okay. I can't unsee it though! He's high af, he's precious, he's always has snacks, he will take down the government or transport a dead body for the homies. He should be protected. I totally, 100% agree that Nova is his child!

Got a few more asks regarding Arceus' usage in the series, gonna just compile them all into one post for the sake of simplicity:

@eternal1990 No problem at all! The Pokemon wiki seems to have mislabeled him since I would consider him more of an 'antagonist' during certain parts of the story rather than a villain. He isn't evil, even though he does act a bit...overly aggressive when he's upset. He is my dear boy too though.

@erazon Exactly, and I often see this with Giratina too. People portray him as an evil creature akin to the devil and the distortion world is 'hell' when that's really not the case. Arceus and Giratina may take some inspiration from God and Satan but they're not at all 1:1 recreations.

We may not know much about Arceus but he doesn't seem to be an omnipotent, perfect being. He gets upset, he makes mistakes and he has to make the tough choices for the ultimate greater good. There just seems to be a preconceived notion that because he is the creator deity he must be perfect when he's not. I'd compare him more to a Greek god as far as being a flawed deity.

Like, we know he's not evil or anything, but with how intense his anger is and his destruction of the village without regard for the safety of the people he cares about...it may cause some people to not have a lot of sympathy for him.

@sinoffalsejudgement Yeah you pretty much hit the nail on the head right there with how I feel about Arceus's portrayal in most media he's in (which also is few and far between, so it leaves his motives up to interpretation a Lot).

With the movie in particular, they immediately introduce Arceus as being a vengeful being bent on destruction.

Which like, ok, they did a similar thing with Darkrai before showing how misunderstood it is by humans and how it's really good at heart. M10 does this by showing Darkrai's actions are not to hurt, but to help. And we get a sequence where Darkrai is actually fighting the oncoming threats of Dialga and Palkia, where we get to see its true nature.

But with Arceus he's introduced as a threat, and then shows he's a threat by attacking the city and his children. We get glimpses of Arceus being heroic through flashbacks, but these flashbacks are so short and ultimately don't really help paint Arceus in a better light since we remember how violent he is now.

The whole movie is about getting Arceus to come back to his senses and he really doesn't do anything heroic to redeem himself. Ash and his friends have to be the ones to snap Arceus out of hiss rage. It just doesn't really portray Arceus as being as caring as I think they want the audience to see him as.

I do enjoy M12 as a whole, but man the way Arceus is written just makes him seem very unlikeable, as I said before. And that's just the movie, the games just leave him as being very mysterious with little to no lore about him at all. He's barely in legends and his motives in it are left up to interpretation.

It's no problem, it's something I've wanted to rant about too lmao.

Even with all that being said, I think most people just kinda hate Arceus because he didn't do anything about Ingo getting sent to Hisui. Which I think is really silly and kinda dumb. But I can also admit he isn't really the best portrayed character in general either, so I can understand if people don't really like him that much on that basis.

If you're currently taking prompts, I was wondering if you would take one that tackles the above quote from book-Jon's thoughts. While he thinks highly of atypical and unique females like Ayra or Val, his misogynistic views of women who adhered to the rules of his society (by choice or otherwise) need to go! Time period of your choice/doesn't have to be bookverse.

I'll be honest, anon - is Jon actually any more misogynistic than the rest of Westeros? Baseline everyone is, because the society they live in is.

This prompt came in back when I requested them (like half a year ago, oops) and I've come back to it every once in a while, but could never really think of a way to turn this into a story that wasn't just Jon sitting there and thinking the things I'm about to write. So instead, I'm just writing my thoughts lmao.

I'm gonna put it all under the cut, because I don't normally do this sort of thing (aka, give my thoughts on canon in a not-story way. I don't like discourse, so I'm placing this under the cut & not tagging it to hopefully avoid that.)

Now, I'm no book scholar, I haven't studied them and parsed through them, I don't read a lot of metas (sorry!) and I actually read the books years ago, so maybe I'm completely wrong here, but I always took that willowy creature line as Jon being a shitty teen boy and trying to pretend he doesn't want the thing he wants. Jon's other thought at this moment is "a warrior princess, he decided" - which is just him... coming up with Val’s whole personality despite not really knowing her. He’s thinking in generics & story tropes in this moment. Willowy creature. Warrior princess.

I also think Jon's admiration for "unique females" is less active misogyny and more him... sort of taking Arya's side? Because doesn't Arya 'hate' feminine girls, too? Arya doesn't fit into that role and because of that, she ends up resenting it (which, to me, is absolutely something a young girl would do. I did it. I went through my not like other girls faze). So of course Jon, who adores Arya and wants to protect her and feels a kinship with her as the two "outcast" Starks, would also take that on. Plus, if you think about it, the only real ladies he would have ever interacted with would be Catelyn (who didn't love him the way he wanted her to) and Sansa (who at some point, kept her distance). Every other reference point he'd have is either from a distance, or from stories. You also have his role model, good ol' Ned Stark, who is amused by Arya's "boyish" behaviors, then gives his "girly" daughter a doll because that's what girls like, right? No matter she's too old for it. And Robb "My Sisters Aren't Worth Trading For" Stark.

But Jon doesn't actually hate willowy creatures, if we're equating that with feminine women. He thinks of Sansa fondly enough, he wants to give Ygritte flowers from the glass gardens, he loves that Ygritte loves songs. When he thinks about his mother, he wants her to be a lady. He wants to be Lord of Winterfell. He wants a lady wife and children. I think that the willowy creatures line is based less in actual hatred for feminine women, and more a way for him to pretend it's not what he wants, because he thinks he can never have it.

I think we can also look at willowy creatures another way, in that Jon doesn't respect people who don't use their own agency, or are too cowardly to stand up for themselves/others. But that doesn't necessarily apply to feminine women? Look at Cat, who fought off an assassin and helped her son wage a war and 'saws through' a guy's throat when Robb was killed (thanks asoiaf wiki for that description). It doesn't even really apply to Sansa, who is one of the more passive characters, action-wise. But she stands up to and manipulates Joffrey into not killing Dontos, doesn't bend for Tyrion to cloak her, and runs away with Dontos despite not having a guarantee of her safety.

And the fact that he repeatedly denies Stannis because "Winterfell belongs to my sister Sansa" tells me he doesn't actually think less of women who follow traditional roles. If he did, he could easily think Sansa wouldn't be able to handle it, or doesn't deserve it because she's a woman.

Now, like I said, I'm no book scholar, so maybe there's some other point where Jon's like "women are stupid and useless" but I'm not remembering them.

TL;DR: Jon is a teenage boy who grew up in a misogynistic society, who has one negative thought about a generic willowly creature, but when he actually knows women, seems to respect them well enough

Hello, I see that you're doing matchups. Never tried these before, but here I go!

First up, things I like to do: I like to play Magic the Gathering, play video games(luv me Deep Rock Galactic), bake and cook, listen to music, thinking about various things while staring up at the ceiling from my bed, see new things(even if it's just a part of a building I rarely go in), and read wikis to get lore dumps on various stuff(like Cookie Run lol)

Next up, Personality traits: I am mostly quiet and reserved, but can be quite energetic towards friends. I am considered the "Black Sheep" of my family and frequently spend time cooped up in room although I am still very close with them and can still get some family time in. I am also quite a good listener.

I am relatively frugal with money and would rather invest or save most of it though I still can splurge occasionally. I am known to be quite patient. I also have a guilty conscience and sometimes the smallest stuff can haunt me for a long time. When not around people I talk to I just go about my business quietly (usually with my head in the clouds).

I am also autistic and have been known for things like running around the house or spinning pencils or not grasping social ques (which can possible contribute to the above guilty conscience). I am also quite easily flustered. I think that should be it for personality traits

after techno's parents died and he met phil n all, he went into a foster home but ran away from it pretty quickly just because he wanted to do things on his own. and besides, he had a tiny father-figure to help him, he'd be fine. like i said, he did a lot of neighborly chores and worked around the city with part-times to just get some stability,,\

i think the reason why drago is unpleasantly surprised (at least, in the leaks translations) is because the ubers hasn't still reached its "breaking point", currently they still believe snuffy's plans will make them win. in this chapter (227) they essentially went from under snuffy's thumb to barou's lmao. but if barou fails this goal - and the flashback of snuffy and his bff who essentially said the same thing as barou gave me a very bad feeling about it - ubers will rebel

You make a good point in your linked post - we have limited intel about who scored those Ubers goals in the PXG match, other than it not being Barou.

I agree Aiku and Aryu can't have scored - like Otoya and Isagi, Aiku may have provided one or more assists to the Ubers scorer(s). That, or he managed to prevent a PXG goal attempt.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lorenzo managed to score in the PXG match. He seems like a player that's capable of playing offensively, but he's too busy marking Kaiser in the BM match.

That said, I love the idea of Snuffy benching the team's striker/forwards who scored against PXG for the sake of showcasing Barou to the world. It'd be cool to see what they're like... but there's such a large cast of characters already, I'm not sure when we might see that happen.

On the fly theory: maybe Snuffy's regret over his dead friend (who Barou freakishly resembles, according to chp 227) is blinkering him, and he is fixated on "helping" Barou, in a way he couldn't help his friend. To the detriment of the Italian players he's supposed to have stewardship over. (god I adore Snuffy's character, he's so interesting)

I imagine the permanent members of the European teams were forewarned that they may be benched in favour of the BL players, and told to suck it up. Ego brought the teams and the master strikers to Japan to train up participants and create a spectacle. The whole point is to showcase this new aggressive style of Japanese soccer. The ones remaining on the NEL starting line ups get to boost their profile given BL is a reality TV phenomenon. The ones on the bench just might not care, they're still getting paid and their positions aren't in serious jeopardy.

...but yeah, it's a mystery why Uber's best striker/forwards would be happy to be benched for an asshole Japanese kid. It's a shame as readers we don't get to see the the European players' bids, other than Kaiser and Ness's. But this must be to build suspense for PXG and whatever OP French players there may be (like Chapi).

A detour, since I'm having a do-nothing weekend: I did a sweep over the manga chapters where Ubers are shown. Like BM, there's only 11 Ubers players visiting Japan.

We don't have names for many of these players: only six are named in the wiki. These are Abdi, Drago, Canali, Lorenzo, Peron and Rico.

In the panels depicting the PXG versus Ubers match, I found one unidentified Ubers player... but he's a goalie?

It doesn't resemble Canali. It can't be Fukaku Gen either, as Gen was listed as a "no value" player following the first round of NEL bidding, suggesting he did not play during the Ubers v PXG match.

It might be Peron. But that's a stretch, since he's playing as a DMF in the BM match.

IDK - anyone else have any ideas?

Ubers bringing over two goalkeepers on an 11-man squad would be odd, but perhaps indicative of Snuffy's desire to find a replacement striker ahead of his retirement.

so, i admit i'm not sure and probably someone else can clarify but i believe the woman would still be lady not a princess, look at rhea royce for example, daemon is a prince and brother of a king, but she was still lady rhea royce, same goes for laena, i don't believe she was ever princess but lady laena velaryon.

as for taking the targaryen surname, i don't believe that's possible either, i'm not sure if there is some legal precedent to it, but i don't recall any lady taking the targaryen surname in asoiaf. you are either born with it or you're jon snow lmao.

IIIIIIT'S INCREDIBLY POSSIBLE THAT I MISREAD THE WIKI. what i was thinking of was Ren's bullet under Legendary Heroes in the Curse Series article:

The downsides to these swords are that he can't gather EXP nor would he be able to hold anything worth cash in the wake of utilizing the Curse Series arms Guillotine and Strong Decline.

either way. that also sounds really cool tbh?? part of me likes him not being able to hold certain things because it harkens back to naofumi realizing he couldn't hold weapons outside of the shield, but also him degrading things of a higher quality just by holding it is also pretty cool and feels like you could get more creative with it.

i view ren as someone who cares deeply about image, but particularly his self-image: he seems like someone who wants to be proud of his actions, so he's more capable of self reflection than most of the other heroes. but also, he's a teenager (the youngest out of the legendary heroes, in fact), so coming to terms with more egregious flaws is probably something scary or painful for him.

putting on a cool facade and being a bit of a loner type probably helps him twofold: convince himself of his better character, and keep people away from seeing him as anything but. getting help scary: doing things on your own more efficient, you don't have to worry about getting people hurt and being a bad person by extension. of course i don't think this is like, the Primary Root of his whole deal, but you could definitely interpret it as that. i'll need to rewatch the anime/read the series to see if this particular interpretation holds up to scrutiny.

but i think something like him causing things he holds to rot and crumble does just as good a job at conveying this vulnerability of his—of trusting others with his true self (never having to share himself)—as him being unable to hold things of value at all might demonstrate how his behavior denies him solace and companionship (keep taking, never giving). i could also see both of these curse after-effects working in tandem:

rotting could be from his gluttony series;

and losing access to valuables could be from his greed series.

frankly, it's kind of refreshing to see how Shield Hero applies the Seven Deadly Sins conceptually. the sins tend to be represented in a straightforward way, but the way the Heroes not only encounter these sins but grapple with them has been making me think for a good while on how precisely the Sins are meant to fit into this series.

The Curse Series is described by Naofumi (and/or as the wikia states lmao) as a defense mechanism unlocked by the weapons after undergoing psychological hardship. which implies that it's meant to protect the users... but honestly, with the way the curses have been shown to work (Naofumi's our best example as w/the anime it's the only one we've seen so far & also he unlocks it first), it's less actual protection and more perceived protection by the hero that unlocked it. (naofumi might feel safer never trusting anyone, but he wasn't able to progress in the world—and, more importantly, feel fulfilled and connected to the world—without making connections with the people inside of it.) so it's likely whatever curses they unlock are influenced by the user and their outlook on the world.

which would imply that ren feels obligated to pilfer and hoard in order to protect himself. (please note that i do not mean to use these words interchangeably between the sins. not to oversimplify, but for the sake of my ramblings: greed is taking (thus emphasis on value), gluttony is wasting (thus, rotting.)) so the question keeping me Up At Night is not just what he's taking/collecting, but why he's taking/collecting it.

and the wiki does answer pretty neatly on the face of it: to exact revenge. to have the ability to exact revenge. items. levels. strength, XP, dignity. but, honestly? i think while looking for empowerment when you're wronged is not only understandable but justified, going the extra length to try and prove that the people who wronged you are the weak ones (rather than maybe letting that fact stand for itself ig? or doing self-evaluation first?) can get pretty immature.

ren can't let his insecurities get the better of him: otherwise, his facade will crumble, and he will be forced to look at the mirror and see how weak he is. so he has to cover up that mirror with whatever he can find, and if he amasses enough stuff he will be able to hide it. he will never have to give himself away (something he may be afraid of) nor will he have to give up his facade (something he holds onto).

so uh. not being able to hold things up to obscure this figurative mirror, be it through sheer inability or the means of decay, are pretty fitting.

...i will Also say that honestly i think the best source for any canon info in general would be straight up canon, i am just 1.) poor 2.) too lazy to look it up on free sites rn fkjsfnsejkfNESJ. the wikia in particular won't necessarily give concise, accurate, or truthful information, especially as it's an english wiki for a japanese series. (which reminds me i should probably try looking things up in japanese. and also continue practicing japanese)

all of this is to say: i only watched the anime so i am the least reliable when it comes to canon information OOPS. it is a little curious that i'm trying to make an AU so soon tbh? but honestly making fanwork helps me digest the canon more, as trying to write for the characters/write alterations of the characters forces me to hone in on all the little nuances that make those characters (and their world) tick.
