Though Neji was stoic in most matters, most kept under control was anger. He knew how dangerous it was to lose control. Someone could get hurt, someone who didn’t deserve it. Unfortunately, today was a failure on his part. Though no one had seen him in his frustration, he was still ashamed of his actions, the remains of wooden training dummies littering the ground surrounding his home, each out shredded down to splinters.
Just as he’d feared, he’s been reckless in his anger and caused unnecessary damage. Looking at his arm, it was all scraped up, one exploding dummy had sent shards of wood directly into his flesh. How stupid he was. He could even see splinters embedded into the skin. He’d need medical attention for sure if he wanted to be certain that every little piece was removed. The pain in itself was awful.
It brought him to Ino’s doorstep, looking bloody and sheepish. He recalled her shift at the hospital had been in the early morning hours. She should be home, a relief. He didn’t need to listen to any questions at the hospital, nor lectures on being more careful as he trained, though he suspected he’s still get the latter from Ino. “Ino?” he called out as he knocked with his uninjured hand. He looked up briefly, spotting droplets of water falling on him. Rain. It stung against his exposed injuries and made him shiver in the cool spring air.

Send me a scene that happened in canon and I’ll write in detail how my muse felt in it!!
@theirnindo said. . . . When Neji got hit by the tentail's attack 👀
Was he worth this?
Hinata stares into her dying cousin’s face, tears blurring her vision, heart tearing into little pieces, but that in her mind question isn’t meant for him: It’s meant for the blond that holds Neji’s broken body. The one that people on the battlefield were beginning to wearily whisper was their ‘savior,’ the one who would turn the tides, the one who would stop this madness. Naruto. Her childhood crush, Naruto.
Was he worth this?
Is he worth all of this bloodshed, all of this death? Everyone believed so strongly in him, yet her comrades were still dropping like flies. When was he going to defeat the enemy? When was he going to save them all? When was he going to do all of these great things people kept saying he would? When? When?
Sure, she had been willing to sacrifice herself for the ‘savior,’ but she’d had no truly important purpose in life. A disinherited girl, it wouldn’t be long before she was branded and her luxuries stripped away. She’d become fodder for the clan. And it was better to be fodder in a war than to a controlling, cruel clan.
But Neji. . He was incredible. Wonderful. Perhaps her platonic soul mate. One of the best shinobi in the village, and most definitely the best the Hyuuga had produced in a very long time. The one she desperately wanted to see succeed. The one she would have fought against clan practices for. Dead. Gone.
And Naruto. Alive. Well. The war still unwon. The enemy sneering in the distance, his words echoing Hinata’s very thoughts. People were dying for Naruto.
Was he worth this? Was he worth Neji dying over?
Hinata can feel anger suddenly flaring within her. Why? Why did Naruto let this happen? He was supposed to lead them to victory, not lead to more death. When was he going to incapacitate the enemy? When were things going to change? When? When?
And she can see Naruto begin to panic: The widening of his eyes, the trembling of his lips. The way his body stiffens and his eyes glaze over. This only causes her anger to grow: Was he just now realizing all of the sacrifices people were making for him? All the people that had died for him? The anger causes her to act violently— Something uncharacteristic of her. She raises a hand and slaps the blond forcefully across the face. No. Naruto wasn’t going to act like this— Not when one of her most precious persons died for him.
“Neji said you have more than one life in your hands.” She murmurs through her exhaustion, anger, and heartache. “So stand and fight.” Her breathing picks up as the heartache increases, the reality Neji’s death fully hitting her when the weight of his body rests on her lap.
She barely gets the last sentence out. “Y-Your ninja w-way is to nev-never give up, i-isn’t it?”
He had better be worth it.

“Nii-chan... Oji-san...!” she didn’t know where they disappeared to, and Himawari was admittedly getting afraid. Her hood was drawn up to hide her hair but she had nothing to mask her whiskered cheeks or her bright blue eyes. But it was the resemblence to her mother she was worried about.
With all the time she spent with Hinata, she knew about how shy she had been (though not the full extent) and that she liked Naruto since they were little. The biggest change Himawari could possibly bring was showing that they would end up together. If she did that... What if her Mama and Papa never confessed their love?! She and Boruto would never be born. Himawai could end up killing them!
She found herself walking toward the Hyuga compound - the village was so different than the village she knew, but the compound felt like the natural place to go. Maybe she should be going back toward Karasuki but her feet were leading her elsewhere.

@theirnindo plotted pain. for neji.
it was rude to run in hospital hallways , lee knew that . BUT HE WOKE UP . sometimes he still saw neji’s lifeless body in his arms . he dreamed about it . either that or gai’s charred body at his knees . ( it seemed the boy had only nightmares these days ) one might hear the muffled voice of a doctor outside , desperately trying to stop rock lee . door swung open with the bare minimum of restraint lee could muster , it was a miracle he did not destroy it . neji looked terrible , but at least the picture of his limb body on the ground could be replaced . lee rushed to his bedside , desire to HUG best friend brother ate him alive . but alas , he couldn’t . that , at least , he knew . instead the bedsheets covering his rival were gripped firmly . chunin lost control over his voice && tears , what left his throat was nothing short of a choked sound . ❛ n - neji . . ! neji !! ❜

lee’s exuberance blossoms like the trees of konoha in the midst of spring and gaara idly wonders just where all the energy manages to come from. wonders, but does not pry, because some things simply do not need answers. “you are in good spirits today,” he notes, almost cautiously, as if he is afraid of misreading emotions.

POETRY STARTERS / ACCEPTING ┊ @theirnindo: ‘ i’m just trying to connect with you ’ (from lee!)
HE’S STILL LEARNING to reign in the more explosive tendencies of his anger, the single tenet of one slow breath at time to face grating situations seems to wither when tasked with Lee’s jubilance. as was the unfortunate case in most situations of this nature, his teammates joyous energy finds itself the last drop in the overflowing glass of Neji’s annoyance. his rage is quiet, as perfectly contained as the rest of him if not for the unhinged edge which creeps into his voice, raised an octave higher than usual. yet a silent strike was a strike nevertheless; the frigid gusts of his burst reaching Lee like iced daggers, brilliant countenance slashed to reveal a reflection of the hurt Neji’s words had caused within.
recriminating speech holds the youthful voice but not the buoyant brightness, a warranted stab of guilt against the emotionally immature genius. Neji acknowledges his fault without a word; folds away the dull ache of disappointment coating his teammate’s words and stores it within his recollection so that he may learn from it. he thinks on the promise he’d made his sensei to renew with vigor his attempts to be if not friendly than, at the very least, civil with his teammates. this would be a good point as any to see that oath through.
‵ forgive me. ʹ he apologizes earnestly, a major development. ‵ i must admit that connecting with others and the like is still a novelty to me. however . . . i am not opposed to knowing you as a friend. can we try again ? ʹ

@theirnindo sent: ❝When’s the last time you slept?❞ (Kiba to Ino)
“Last night.” It’s not wrong, really, but Kiba probably means to ask when she got any decent sleep as opposed to the measly three hours she had managed to get. “I... had a nightmare.”

[ @theirnindo ] [ Closed Starter ]
To call the last few days difficult is a massive understatement. Though the Fourth Shinobi ‘war’ was barely a day in length, the devastation its instigators caused in that time has affected practically every person left living on Earth.
And the Hyūga have been no exception, with their share of the dead...including the most recent clan head, Hiashi himself. Add in resurrected kinsmen such as Hizashi, and the injuries suffered by all still alive...it’s been an emotional drain the likes of which haven’t been seen since the days before Konoha, and the unbridled wars between the clans.
Already politics are abuzz in the clan about successors, and Hanabi - as the last named heir before Hiashi’s passing - has been at the center of it all, along with her sister. Arguments about birth rites and age, Hiashi’s will and won spars have been eddying in circles and it’s driven the pair of them to their proverbial edges.
So, Hanabi’s taken today to visit one of the blessings still left to them to avoid it for a few hours: the still-recovering Neji. The fact that he survived the Jūbi’s blow has been one of the few things they’ve had to smile about. True, she’s not had much chance to bond with him as Hinata has, but...well, if near-death does anything, it’s remind us that nothing is guaranteed, and time is limited.
Seated at his bedside, she mostly zones out in the chorus of beeping and whirring of the machines helping keep her cousin alive. As busy as she’s been, she isn’t even sure if he’s woken up at all yet, but...at the moment, it seems he’s asleep. Smiling wearily at him, she murmurs, “Man, what I wouldn’t give to be able to sleep through stuff right now...hope you’re dreaming something more pleasant than what’s goin’ on back home, Neji-nīsan.”

@theirnindo said: “Are you okay? It sounded like you were having a bad dream…” (from Ino)
“Mmph.” The Hyuuga sleepily grunted in response, sitting up and allowing the blanket to slide off him to cool his sweat drenched skin with the night air. He was sure it must be obvious that he was upset so no attempt was made to deny it. Each breath he took in was followed by a heavy shudder, his chest heaving from the force of the exertion with a power that contrasted his pale, shaking hands.
He tugged at the bandages that still clung to his forehead, ripping them off and regretting not removing them the night before. “The light.” His words were both demanding and pleading. Though his eyes were starting to adjust to Ino’s dark bedroom, it wasn’t enough. He needed to see. He couldn’t stand being shrouded by darkness for another moment. The darkness brought with it the horrible stench, overwhelming his senses as if it were there in that room. Rotting flesh, congealed blood, the sounds of animals fighting over what was scavenged in the distance. Though he knew his hands were trying he could feel the sticky goo, melting fat or perhaps intestines, sticking to his body from where he had fallen. He rubbed at his forearms, a futile attempt to remove the carnage.
In an instant, Neji switched from shakily trying to get his bearings to bolting from the room. In quick succession, the bathroom door slammed, a lock clicked, and the sink was turned on. The running water masked most of the retching sound, following by a pause, and then yet more. How humiliated he was, unable to handle a dark bedroom. He was pathetic.

♡ Valentine’s Day Ask from @theirnindo‘s Lee! ♡
It was his first valentine's day after having gotten so close to Hinata. In all honesty, Lee wasn't yet sure where he stood with the other but he felt compelled to do something special for her. And so he asked her to meet him by the river. He showed up early after stopping by Ino's shop for flowers. After help from Ino, he settled on a small bouquet, purple lilacs surrounded by purple roses, both flowers according to Ino, in some way symbolizing having fallen in love with the recipient. Whether Hinata knew this or not, he didn't know. But he hoped they would finally come to an understanding now after this meeting.
Bandaged hands gripped the bouquet and he stared down at them idly until he heard the other approach. Quickly he stood up and turned to face her, his hand moving behind his back to hide the flowers. "Hinata, hello!" he greeted cheerfully, a smile growing on his face. Just at the sight of her, he could feel his heart begin to flutter.
As she approached, his gaze shifted to the side as his hands were slowly brought out into view. "I, uhm, I got you something..." He held the flowers out with both hands, though his gaze still remained averted. "Happy Valentine's day, Hinata."
Hinata adjusts the decorated glass jar in her hands as she approached the river. Nervousness had overtaken her and her palms were sweating; What if Lee didn’t like her gift? It was a glass jar decorated with painted hearts and inside held hundreds of little slips of paper, all holding a tiny message about the things she loved and appreciated about Lee. Love. She tried to keep her little notes vague in that regard; For although she found herself falling for the Taijutsu master, she wasn’t sure where he stood. Better to have him think it platonic love and be happy than to think it romantic and feel awkward.
A blur of purple catches her eye as Lee goes to hide something behind his back when she approaches. Her heart flutters when she breathes a greeting. “Hi, Lee.” Extremely curious about what he’s hiding, she doesn’t think to hide her own gift for him. Hinata merely tilts her head to the side slightly, the small smile on her lips a quiet notion of encouragement; What do you have, Lee?
When the bouquet of roses and lilacs are revealed, her heart pounds in her chest. A lover of flower-pressing and gardening, the Hyuuga was quite familiar with the meaning behind flowers. And these two together. . Symbols of romantic love. But did Lee know that? Her face turns rosy and her breathing uneven. The jar in her hands is completely forgotten; It drops into the sandy riverbank, unharmed.
She doesn’t say thank you, she doesn’t grasp them from his hands. She questions: “F-Flowers hold different meanings. . Did you know?”

theirnindo replied to your post “It's Hi.dan's bi.rthday”
Konan just gives him a silent nod of acknowledgment for his bday
Hidan is a bit surprised that she even gave a nod to him today, though deep down he knows it's his birthday it has escaped his mind at this very moment. “Wow, I must be moving up on your list Konan, usually I don’t even see you look at me.”

@theirnindo liked. for neji.
to be fair , lee passing the hyuga estate around the time neji would be released from his familiar duties was coincidental . though it was a coincidence the chunin would gladly accept , scanning the front entry while casually balancing on his left hand . ( as if anything lee ever did could be described as CASUAL ) he was quick to jump back into form when patience was finally rewarded . neji may think about it how he’d like , but he was the closest thing to a brother lee had . he treassured his rival . lee approached his peer with enough energy && warmth one would never have guessed he had been training all day . only the dirt clinging to his face told a different story . ❛ if it isn’t my FAVOURITE rival !! i was going to get dinner , care to join me ?? ❜

"Sakura!!" Ino called out cheerfully as she approached her best friend, a wrapped gift in hand. She had found a jewelry set, necklace and earrings, she thought matched the other's eyes and thought they were perfect. As she approached she threw a big hug around her. "Happy birthday. I got you something," she spoke in an almost singsong-y voice as she handed off the gift to her.
❝INO!❞ Sakura spoke her name as a way of greeting, happily turning around to smile at her friend’s approaching figure. While she knew Ino would not forget her birthday, her buying a present was not expected, which clearly showed in the way her emerald eyes widened at the box the blonde put into her gloved hands. ❝Thank you, Ino! You didn’t need to bother.❞ Despite her words, Sakura unwrapped the package as carefully as her enthusiasm allowed, slender fingers delicately opened the box as a gasp escaped her parted lips. Inside the box, nestled carefully in red velvet, were the most beautiful necklace and earrings she had ever received. Sakura stared at them for a second, the delicate matching stones of the earrings and necklace were of the purest green, almost liquid as the light gracefully danced on their surface. ❝These are so beautiful!❞ her words were uttered in the most secretive of voices, almost as if they had escaped her lips in a quiet confession.
❝INO… thank you!❞ a smile so bright it put the sun to shame lightened her visage, tears threatened to fill her eyes as she carefully cradled the box closer to her heart. Although Sakura had received many thoughtful gifts before, there was something different about this one, perhaps because it wasn’t flower themed? Yes, maybe that was it. Sakura was so used to having everything around her about flowers -even she styled her things with cherry blossoms- that when someone noticed something ELSE, such as her eyes, it caused a warm feeling of surprise to bloom in her heart.
❝COME, help me put the necklace on.❞ holding the jewel in her hands as if it were a fragile treasure, Sakura handed it to Ino and turned around, lowering her head so her short pink locks fell forward and the blonde could close the clasp around her neck without trouble.
