It is January 2024
I'm still a Covid ward nurse
In the last couple months I've seen 3 people die specifically and directly because they chose to go on a cruise or bus tour as their way to enjoy retirement / enjoy their time before they need a rest home
Covid ages older people a decade in a week
People who were still managing to live independently at home with maybe a cleaner once a week - again and again I see them spend 3 weeks in hospital and be forced to discharge straight to an aged care facility, if they come out of it at all.
Don't let older people go on things like bus tours and cruises.
A memorable holiday with your partner, very easily ends with one of you losing your life, and the other never being the same again, and never being able to go home again.
Wear a mask.
Get vaccinated.
Quit smoking.
Encourage community or social events to continue to provide some degree of Covid safety.

My fav thing about TAZ is that any aspect out of context sounds fucking bonkers.
Like, in the balance finale there's a scene in which Garfield (who is very specifically never described visually bc most people imagine him as like. The Lasagna Cat. Who in this universe is the most powerful warlock in the realm and also has a hobby of cloning people, which is great for the one character that got forced into haunting a mannequin) is summoned by an alien spaceship that runs on the power of friendship so he could beat up some flashing balls. In D&D.
And that was just. Such a normal scene in the narrative. No one blinked an eye. I would like to bow down to Griffins clear unmatched talent for making me feel such big emotions over ridiculous shit like a goddamned umbrella or a regular ass pair of jeans or the idea of a taco recipe.

*sigh*. So. 3x03 right. "You rigged this table so that no matter what plate Monty was under, he would drop down from under it just as your contestant made their choice!" and how that works with the game motif in 4x10, "Ugh, again? Remind me how this 'game' is supposed to convince me I'm not destined to turn into an evil demon monkey thing again!? Cause every option I pick takes me to this same screen!" "Hey you're finally getting it! No matter what options it's giving you, you're always gonna end up in the same spot." And it's like, losing being inevitable, the game being rigged, the only option being to find a different choice, yet still "every choice has consequences—for someone." Overall I just kinda feel like this:

Acid theory?❌️ Puppet Transformation theory?✅️
(no disrespect to my acid theory enjoyers)
I wouldn't know, I go on even though
I'll be bloody and bruised
I'll be breaking my bones
I'll be paying my dues
I'll be laughing alone

Effloresce snippet
“How did you,” Nesta had managed to surprise her, “How did you come to meet this woman?”
Nesta let out a ragged, half-mad laugh. “I tried to hire her to smuggle me into the Spring Court to save my sister.” She twisted, looking straight at Kali. “Why do they call Rhysand a pretender?”
Warmth, whatever warmth Nesta had garnered, evaporated.
“The heir died,” Kali pronounced. “The current High Lord prevented us from vengeance. We could not- the Lady Shahar did not return to the sky. You cannot lead the clans without honor.”
Nesta’s honor was tarnished in every direction. Her father, her sister, her dead uncounted.
“Who is the next heir?”
Kali sucked in an audible breath and then, just as careful, off as the way Koram had touched her, clapped the back of Nesta’s shoulder where bone and muscle would meet in wings were she something else. “That pale bitch who’s been dragging Cassian around by his throat for centuries, my lady.”
Morrigan.
Of course, it was Morrigan.
Nesta wiped her face. “Will it cause problems?”
“Your friend, the mercenary? The mortal child of an Illyrian?” Kali shrugged, motion half wings, “It will be strange. Not violent.”
“And probably good for them to see.”
“Them,” Kali echoed.
Nesta pressed hard against her wet eyes, once, the pressure twinned with pain in her face. “I’m not going to tell anyone who they can or cannot consort with,” Nesta nearly hissed, before she reeled herself back in. “I am not a High Lord. These things happen, and there is nothing wrong with them.”
Kali, quite obviously cautious, squeezed Nesta’s shoulder like it was made of bone fine porcelain. “Lady Nesta.”
It was kind, and utterly unbearable.
“Why do you need her?” Kali asked, after a long moment. “The mercenary?”
Nesta, feeling like the expression cracked her, bleeding open, smiled.
“She travels in the company of Jurian,” Nesta told her, one more Archeron secret laid bare, “Breaker of chains and kings. I have need of him.”

I love my friends. I really do.
but if my bestie continues the joke that I look like Valentino every time I wear a top hat, heart jewelry, angeldust merch, and red clothes I will go insane.
biggest insult I’ve ever received

hmmm i am once again thinking about what sora's entry fee in the reapers' game would be... bc it not only has to be something precious to him but it has to be structured to force him to grow as a person. but it feels like almost everything it possibly could be has already been taken away from him at some point and he's managed to survive and get it back. did he come back stronger and better from it? debatable.

the thing about the 'but phee knew non for much shorter period of time than he was hanging out with this group' argument is that
yes, yes of course
of course it would made sense he grew more attached to them of course he as a teenager partially moved on from his first love
it is normal and natural BUT it's also BORING
i wish he was less normal about his relationship with non, less realistic, this tragic hero that truly was pure of heart and got corrupted by the sheer memory of his first love and unimaginable guilt bc it's just MORE FUN

the broccoli arc is what you'd get if you combined Small Gods with the Not What He Seems portal scene and parts of Ptolemy's Gate and then shook the whole thing up in an evil Fedco Seeds catalog and this is why I'm going to be insane about it for the rest of my life
