🔮DAY 15 - TAROT ADVENT🔮 14 - Temperance Finding the middle path between extremes becomes important, especially when you have been through a few transformations. This is how we hold our centre. We become so familiar with our own energy that we immediately sense anything coming in that is not of our essence. We recognise it as an external force, a disruption, whether pleasant or unpleasant. Ripples in the matrix may cause us to be distracted if we are not able to bring ourselves back to centre. Find the stillness again and again. Obvious stimuli like music, stimulants, alcohol, caffeine, sugar and pharmaceutical or recreational drugs all have an effect. The question is are you chasing an effect, seeking an escape, creating drama out of habit or simply enjoying an experience? Do you need it? When you find the sacred centre of your personal still point, these things seem much less desirable. Meet Me in the Middle

The Right points to the Left,

the Left points to the Right,

both say, They are crazy!

and then they start to fight.

Both sides can’t be right,

but both sides can be wrong,

and if we don’t reach out,

we’ll never get along.

But both sides are convinced

the other side is nuts,

and so there’s no debate,

no ifs or ands or buts.

But they don’t understand

that what they say is true;

both extremes are crazy,

Notes from a reminder to rest. I had always scoffed at my pastor’s injunctions to rest while working. To rest, I thought, was to sit in my cave and cry until I had no more tears left, and then emerge, victorious, having poured our all my demons onto the floor and left them. It is a much more restful path to walk between the superiority of gladiator’s sandals, and the inferiority of a hiding monk. All professions, all possessions, can be unhealthy. All classes can save a life. Drink tea. Feel your feelings. Carry a sword. Use it to cut rabbits out of traps. They will run. They may not even thank you properly. They certainly will not ask questions, hind legs all pent up, muscles over and underdeveloped from straining against the twine. Because you have saved yourself, their thanks is appreciated, and blessedly unnecessary.
