#then Sarutobi did literally the bare minimum for him

One thing that I've always found really cool in Naruto is just how many "good" characters are often completely unreliable narrators. There's the rather famous Itachi flashback from Sasuke, of course, but I think the most deceptively unreliable characters is Naruto himself. For all his exuberance and apparent honesty, Naruto's actually someone who hides and lies a lot. Chief among those is his hatred. Naruto actually holds (or at least held) a lot of hatred in him for such a messianic archetype.
Really? Given all he’s been through, I always thought Naruto had made it through life with remarkably little resentment.

even hiashis dad did support him in kicking hinata out. So it is the elders as well. It really doesnt matter if its "tradition" because we dont know if stuff like this happened before or not. Atleast sarutobi had good intentions with his son and put in a word with iruka to encourage naruto in the academy when they were apprehensive. Hiashi just literally stated he didnt care about his own daughters well being
Hiashi’s father was the first to nominate Hizashi for sacrifice when Hiashi was about to do it and had a straight face in saying that one son’s life duty was to be a flesh shield for the other. Again, lets not gloss over how fucked up the rest of the family was and how Sarutobi stood there in the same room and let it happen as well as maintained the system that lead to the Uchiha massacre and don't get me started on his treatment of Naruto. Lets not kiss Sarutobi's wrinkled ass for doing the bare minimum for the son of 2 people that saved his and everyone else's asses.
