So my Season 8 MC: Vivienne.

So far I like her. More emotion than last season’s MC. I love the choices to make her. (and apparently horoscope tattoos are in this year, so why not 🤷‍♀️) I’ve never tried colored hair so this is my first one with it.

It’s strange but this season I’m liking the free outfits more than the ones that cost diamonds so far. Very interesting…

My #1 so far is Jin (ugh bless whoever likes BTS on the writing team!) and then Jack (he likes dogs, honesty and gardening - triple threat! lol)

Theo is clearly the one you can’t have until the very end, cuz there’s gotta be one. lol

Oakley is good but perhaps a bit too serious? I’m not allowed to make any sexy fireman quips and that’s a bummer… cuz they’re hot 😅🤦‍♀️

The girls are good. I actually wish I could keep Luna (even though I want to couple with Jin) but get rid of Emel or Sophie… Emel seems too high maintenance and Sophie is just meh so far… 🤷‍♀️

i realize many characters have birthdays, and I do agree with most! But also we need to talk abt moon, rising, venus!!!

-sun: virgo

-moon: aquarius (hermione is extremely logical, she rarely experiences her feelings, she would rather rationalize everything)

-rising: leo (initially I wanted to say aries bc, Emma Watson, but the hair is quite literally too big to ignore)

-venus: virgo (venus signs are tricky, and i am saying this now bc it affects everyone. venus must be in a sign close to the sun sign of the person, it is impossible to have a venus more than 2 signs away in any direction I believe. anyways, Virgo because ummm girl, the smell of your amortentia is giving)

-mars: libra (time turner to solve her indecisiveness lulzzzz and it’s in the 3H of communication with a leo rising)

-moon: capricorn (the trauma? i mean cmon.)

Reading your KATHONY mafia au made me go back and read about all the couples. The Polin fan in me though couldn't help but jump to conclusions when I read the words 'the betrayal'. They aren't dating so why would he feels betrayed? Unless... what if Penelope was working with Eloise as her informant, the infamous Lady Whistledown and to get her info she started going to the club. Eloise never told her brother (partly to mess with him and also because she knows he would blow Pens cover). Violet of course knows, and is one of the many reasons why she wants Colin to marry Penelope. I need the details dear author, you can not leave me hanging like that! Also, I just want to see the scene where Colin reacts and things get heated. Bonus if the club turns to out to be owned by Michael Sterling :)

Backstory on that Mafia au for Penelope and Colin you're right but I'll elaborate more like I did with the Kanthony one:

Yes the BDSM club is owned by Michael Stirling. He has his business hand in every sex related establishment of the criminal world. The less you know the better.

The thing is that Colin really thought that Penelope was this innocent Angel who basically spent all her free time volunteering at soup kitchens and writing articles for the Mayfair times, on organic food and why breathable fabrics would allow more movement to the modern women today.

And then his world view was shattered!

He follows Penelope into one of Michael's high end clubs and finds a very elegant and leather clad blonde wigged Penelope trading mafia secrets with the bad and dangerous of London.

The thing is that yes Colin discovers that Penelope is an informant for Eloise but more than that, her alias Lady Whistledown is an informant for everyone, she's a triple quadruple agent for the highest pocketbook. LW has been selling secrets to everybody in general that's the betrayal.

She's on Danbury's payroll, she's on Stirling's payroll, she's on the Eloise Bridgerton payroll, and now recently Basset & Beckett have her on speed dial.

And Colin would technically be okay with her secret job if he hadn't happened to find out because Penelope uses her Domme identity in Stirling's BDSM clubs as a cover during her business transactions with her clients minions.

Colin just thought she was acting suspicious he never expected to gets a sexy front row show of what Dominatrix Penelope does to little naughty boys while she did a demonstration of the perks of the club's newly renovated "room of mirrors" that he would be hard (really really hard) pressed to forget.

To be fair she was a complete professional with Theo when she did the demonstration. But there's only so much 'good boy' and 'be good for your mistress darling' that Colin can tolerate hearing from Penelope's red lips before going crazy.

And trust me the moment Penelope was done with her business with Theo, Colin stormed right up to her and they had the row from hell (the only thing stopping Colin from breaking Theo's neck in an instant was that he knew the guy was 100% working for Eloise money laundering scheme)

Penelope never expected Colin of all people to figure her ruse out, let alone corner her in the club of all places and demand an explanation. Good thing that in her Domme Whistledown disguise Penelope owed nobody nothing. If he wanted answers then he would have to stay and play in the club with her. If not, a good Domme never lacks willing partners.

And Colin who wants to have her desperately and has never been a sub in his life.... Lets her take control.

So what follows is a week long sex montage of Colin and Penelope trying to purge each other out of their system and hoping their friendship goes back to normal. (With a dash of highly dangerous criminal activity. ) Except it doesn't, Colin and Penelope realize that the more they sleep together the more they want to do it again.

And then there's the added threat of bomb fanatic Cressy Cowper having it out for Lady Whistledown at the same time Mama Danbury announces open season for her favorite criminally good snitch.

And Colin tries to convince Penelope to give up the job and marry him so he can offer his family protection. Except Penelope doesn't want to she wants to make a name for herself in the underworld. And in the end Colin decides that so does he.

So they plot to kill Penelope's enemies and take their place in the food chain as a new mafia branch under the Bridgerton umbrella

Dokk stepped out of the vehicle while Big Face exited the bird portal. When Dokk finished grabbing his things out of the truck, Bram drove away. Dokk rushed over to Gabriel while Big Face kept his distance.*

“Gabriel? Is Elli okay?” -Dokk was practically begging the Lure patriarch for news. His eyes were wide and full of fear. Gabriel waved his hand a little to tell Dokk to calm down.-

*Gabriel held his hand out to Big Face to offer a handshake. He was silent as Big Face just stared at his hand. Big Face’s expression hardened. He gave a nod before quickly grabbing onto Gabriel’s hand. The two exchanging a firm handshake of a truce.*

Yeah, no, no, no, I'm on the website right now, I just need to activate the GPS in their cell phones" Dean enters a password; his GPS screen shows the name 'Dean J. Mahogoff', mobile phone number 785-555-2804 "Yeah, right there. Duluth, Minnesota. Yeah, that is a long way to go for a concert. I appreciate your help"

Jo is scrubbing the bar and saying goodnight to some customers.

"Good night, thank you" she says. Sam enters and clears his throat.

"Sorry, we're closing up" Jo says, her back turned to him.

"How about just one for the road?" Jo turns to face him, not looking welcoming.

"Well, you're about the last person I'd expect to see"

"Well, I guess I'm full of surprised. So can I get a beer?"

"Sure. One beer" Jo brings a bottle of beer over and sets it down on the bar firmly, then turns away, bustling over cleaning up the bar “So how'd you find me?"

"Well, uh, it's kind of what we do, you know?"

"Speaking of 'we', where's Dean and Theo?" She asks.

"They couldn't make it"

"So, what're you doing here Sam? I mean we didn't exactly part on the best of terms. Well, me and Theo, but not us"

"Right. Um, well, that's why I'm here" Sam takes off his jacket "I kinda -- I wanted to see if we could square things, you know?" As Sam takes off his jacket, Jo notices a circular burn mark with a short line through it on Sam's forearm.

"That looks like it hurts"

"No. Nah, just, just had a run-in with a hot stove"

"So, you were saying something about squaring things?"

"Yeah. Um ... Look, I know how you feel about my dad. And I can't say I blame you. He was obsessed -- consumed with hunting. And he didn't care who got caught in the cross-fire. And I guess that included your dad. But that was my father. That's not me"

"What about Dean and Theo?"

"Well according to Dean, Theo was more like my mom, but Dean. Dean's more like my father than I am, but h-..." Sam sees Jo's off look and laughs a little "Boy. You're really carrying a torch for him, aren't you?" Jo scoffs, uncomfortably "I'll take that as a yes. It's too bad" Sam is smiling tightly "'Cause see, Dean, he likes you, sure, but not in the way you'd want. I mean, maybe as kind of a . . . a little sister, just how Theo thinks of you, you know? But -- romance, that's just out of the question, he --" Sam laughs "he kind of thinks you're a schoolgirl, you know? And Theo, she thinks you need to be babied and that you’re not strong enough to hunt" There is a small pause "I'm not trying to hurt you, Jo, I -- I'm telling you 'cause I care"

"That's real kind of you, Sam" Jo says sarcastically.

"I mean it" Sam places a hand over hers on the bar, suggestively, possessively "I care about you a lot"

"Sam, what's going on?" She asks. She tries to pull her hand away but he holds it and won't let go.

"I can be more to you, Jo"

"Maybe you should leave"

"Okay" Sam shoves her hand away and stands to leave; Jo turns to face the bar, leaning on it heavily. Suddenly Sam reappears, grabbing her from behind and manhandling her.

"Sam, get off me! Sam! Get off me! Let go!" She closes her right hand on a beer bottle, but before she can hit him with it, he grabs her wrist and slams it onto the bar, shattering the bottle.

"Jo, Jo, Jo" She shoves her around until she faces the bar and pins her there, left hand over her wrist, right hand stroking her hair.

"Sam, no! No! Please! Please!" She screams. He slams her forehead into the bar; she is knocked out, and he lifts her carefully to lie on the bar, stroking her hair in a disturbingly gentle manner.

"It didn't have to be this way. Maybe it did" He gives her an evil grin. He picks her back up and ties her to a wide wooden post. He goes outside to the Impala and opens the shotgun door. He chuckles as he hears a noise in the backseat and opens the door, seeing Theo against the door on the other side. "Come on big sister. You said it yourself; you don't need to be scared of me" He grabs her ankles and pulls her towards him. He manhandles her back to the bar lays her down on the bar.

"Sammy" She says sluggishly "Please, stop" He goes over to a rack and finds a belt. He walks back over to Theo and puts in in her mouth. He walks around the bar to find a First Aid and puts it next to her head, which is lulling side to side, her eyes slightly open and skin pale from blood loss. Sam takes out bandages, tweezers, needle and thread, gauze and scissors.

"Sorry big sister, but this is gonna hurt. A lot" Sam says, smirking. He uses the scissors to cut her shirt a little from the bottom, revealing her bloody wound. He pours some alcohol onto her wound and he arches her back and bits down on the belt. Sam pushes her back down forcefully. And without any warning he sticks the tweezers into her wound in search of the bullet. She thrashes in pain until Sam, having enough, knocks her out. He digs deep until he feels the bullet, pulling it out slowly and just throws it down on the floor. He grabs the needle and threat and saws her wound up before placing the gauze over and bandages. He strokes her cheek with an evil grin "There. Now that wasn't so hard"

A juxbox starts playing the doors' "Crystal Ship". Nearby, Sam is tying a groggy Theo to another wide wooden post just as Jo slowly wakes up and looks around.

"What the hell is going on? What are you doing? What the hell have you done to Theo?" She asks, looking to Theo.

"So, what exactly did your mom tell you about how your dad died"

"You're not Sam"

"Don't be so sure about that. Answer the question" Jo says nothing; Sam sighs heavily and goes around to the other side; he sits in front of her, leaning in, his expression shifting to one of open concern. He pulls out a large knife and strokes her face with it "Come on. It's me. You can tell me anything, you know that. Answer. The question"

"Fine"

"Fine"

"Our dads were in California: Devil's Gate Reservoir. They were setting a trap for some kind of hellspawn. John was hiding, waiting, and my dad was bait" Sam laughs.

"That's just like John. Oh, I'll bet he dangled Bill like meat on a hook. Then what?" He gets up and goes around to stand behind her.

"The thing showed up. John got too eager, jumped out too soon, got my dad exposed, out in the open. The thing turned around...and killed him" Sam leans in from behind Jo.

"Hmm. Not quite"

"Sam... don’t" Theo says sluggishly.

"What?" Jo asks.

"What? Oh. See, it hurt him. It didn't kill him. You really don't know the truth, do you? I bet your mom doesn't either" Sam sits facing her again and leans in close.

"Know what?"

"You see, Bill...was all clawed up. Was holding his insides in his hands. He was gurgling and... praying to see you and Ellen one more time. So, my dad...killed him. Put him out of his misery like a sick dog"

"Leave her the hell alone!" Theo shouts.

"You're lying. Right" Jo says, sobbing and looks to Theo.

"I'm not. It's true" Sam says in a quite singsong "My daddy shot your daddy in the head..."

"How could you know that?" Sam stands up.

"I hear things" He stands and stabs the knife into te pillar, just above head level"

"Why are you doing this to me?"

"Like Daddy like daughter. You're bait. Open up" Sam shoves a knotted rag in her mouth and ties it around her neck "That's a girl" Sam walks over to Theo and lifts her head up before wrapping another rag around her mouth and tying it around her neck. The door then bursts open and Dean enters, gun out.

"Sam! Theo!" Sam grabs the knife from the pillar, his calm expression shifting to one of desperate panic, and places the knife at Jo's throat.

"I begged you to stop me, Dean. You too Theo" Sam yells, sounding more like Sam again.

"Put the knife down, dammit"

"I told you I can't fight it! My head feels like it's on fire, all right?! Dean. Kill me, or I'm going to kill her. Please. You'd be doing me a favour! Shoot me" Sam turns to face Dean, arms spread "Shoot me!" Theo shrugs the rag from around her mouth.

"Sammy. Please just, stop" she says. Dean stares, gun steady and looks at Jo and Theo out of the corner of his eyes.

"No, Sammy, come on" Dean turns away, lowering the gun.

"What the hell's wrong with you, Dean? Are you that scared of being alone that you'd rather let Jo die?" Dean turns suddenly, flinging water from a flask at Sam; the water hisses and steams as it strikes.

"That's holy water, you demonic son of a bitch!" Sam raises his head; his eyes are the solid black of a demon's. Dean flings more holy water at him; Sam growls, turns and runs, bursting through a window and fleeing. Dean takes the knife and cuts Theo free then Jo and she pulls the gag out of her knife as Dean and Theo runs towards the shattered window.

"He was possessed?!" Dean turns and stares at her for a moment, then leaps through the window followed by Theo "Dean! Theo!"

Dean, Theo and Possessed-Sam stalk each other through a dim, crowded warehouse, the three have handguns. During the following they never see each other directly, instead hiding stealthily behind piles and boxes and shouting at each other.

"So, who are you?" Theo asks.

"I got lots of names"

"You've been in Sam since he disappeared, haven't you?"

"You shoulda seen your faces when you though he murdered that guy. Pathetic"

"Why didn't you kill us? You had a dozen chances"

"Nah, that would have been too easy. Where's the fun in that? You see, this was a test. Wanted to see if I could push you far enough to waste Sam. Should've known you wouldn't have the sack. Anyway. Fun's over now"

"Well, I hope you got your kicks. 'Cause you're gonna pay hell for this, I'm gonna make sure of that"

"How? You can't hurt me. Not without hurting your little brother" Dean and Theo are putting their guns away, pulling out the flask of holy water "See, I think you two are gonna die, Dean, Theo. You and every other hunter I can find. One look as Sam's dewey, sensitive eyes? They'll let me right in their door" Possessed-Sam gets up, heading outside; Dean and Theo follows. They are on an open-air dock. Once Dean and Theo are out in the open, looking around at the water, Sam steps out, takes aim, and shoots Dean, hitting him in the shoulder. Dean is knocked into the water with a splash. Theo jumps in after him; Sam stalks to the edge and peers over where Dean fell and Theo jumped; not seeing Dean or Theo in the water, he smiles.

Jo is walking quickly through the docks, a flashlight in one hand and her cell phone in the other; she's calling Dean, and his voicemail picks up.

"This is Dean. Leave a message" Jo goes to ring Theo, but her voicemail also picks up.

"Sorry I'm not here. Please leave a message" Jo hangs up the phone with a sigh of frustration and continues searching. Moments later she calls Dean again, and this time hears Dean's ringtone coming from below her, by the water. She runs down to where he is lying unconscious at the bottom of a ramp. Theo is next to him, also unconscious.

"Dean! Theo!" They wake with a groan, coughing; they're completely wet "Take it easy"

"Where's Sam?" Dean asks, shuddering and groaning in pain.

"I don't know, I've been looking for you two. Come on, get up" Theo stands and helps Jo to help Dean stand up. He leans on them heavily, groaning, clutching his shoulder, as they walk back to the bar. Later, Dean and Theo have changed into warmer clothes. Dean is seated at a table, gripping the edge with his right hand, his left-hand holding Theo's as Jo digs the bullet out of his left shoulder. He's groaning loudly.

"Don't be a baby!" Jo says.

"God!"

"Almost. All right, got it. Got it" She drops the bloodstained bullet in a glass of clear alcohol. Dean takes a few healthy swigs from a bottle is whiskey.

"If you search around here, you'll find my bullet" Theo says, grabbing the bottle from Dean and taking a sip.

"You're bullet?" Dean asks.

"Oh yeah, Sam or the thing possessing him shot me in the motel room. It was my own fault. I should have never wrestled him knowing he had a cocked gun" Dean forces her to stand; He lifts it up, revealing bloody bandages and a gauze.

"Did he take it out?" Jo asks.

"Yeah. Hurt like a bitch but eventually he knocked me out" Jo continues to treat Dean's wound and he flinches in pain.

"God, you're a butcher"

"You're welcome" Jo says sarcastically.

"All right, are we done?"

"Would you give me two minutes to patch you up? You can't help Sam if you're bleeding to death" Dean takes the bottle from Theo and takes another swig as Jo continues layering gauze and tape over the wound "So, how did you two know? That he was possessed?"

"Uh, ah, we didn't, we just knew that it couldn't have been him"

"Hey, guys"

"Yeah?" They ask in unison.

"I know demons lie, but...do they ever tell the truth too?"

"Um, um, yeah, sometimes, I guess. Especially if they know it'll mess with your head" Dean takes another swig "Why do you ask?"

"Nothing. Doesn't matter" Theo looks to Jo with a sad expression "So do you two have any idea where he's headed too next"

"Well, so far he's been going after the nearest hunter, so...closest one I know lives in South Dakota" Dean says.

"Okay good, I'm done. Let's go"

"Yeah" Dean stands up "You're not coming"

"The hell I'm not. I'm a part of this now"

"I can't say it plainer than this. You try to follow us and I'll tie you right back to that post and leave you here. This is out fight. We're not getting your blood on our hands. That's just how it's gonna be" Dean and Theo turns to leave.

"Wait" They turn back and she throws Dean out a prescription pill bottle "Here. Take these, they'll help with the pain" Theo nods and smiles.

"Thanks. We'll call you later, okay?" Dean says and they leave.

"No, you won't" Jo says to herself after the twins leave. It's raining as Dean and Theo drives down a dark stretch of road; Theo dials a number of her cell. Elsewhere, a phone rings several times, until Sam cuts the phone line running outside the house with a knife. Theo looks at her phone and sighs.

"Dammit" she says.

Best...Friends?

That Bad Friend Scott McCall tag really gets to me sometimes because even though the fandom kind of pushes it to an extreme, even before the whole Donovan and Theo business I can see how much of a suck-ass friend Scott could be. Like I don’t mean that friends should be up in each-others assholes during every given moment of the day but it is a horrible feeling to be cast aside like so much trash or easily forgotten and in cannon that happened more often than it should have for two people who call one another ‘family’. 

And I know, extenuating circumstances, storytelling, ‘poor story telling’...yada yada, but I’m also a petty ass and sometimes I need to consume the distortion in the fandom to thrive. 

**Also, lets be honest, sometimes the fanfiction is truer to the characters portrayed than the actual cannon. ijs

After the fiasco with the Nogistune, which Allison barely survived, Stiles is pushed to the fringes of the pack. Alienated from his previous friends and abandoned by the Sheriff who can't deal with his broken son, Stiles slips further and further into a pit of despair. That is until he finds someone even more desperate than he is, and together they forge a bond that will revitalise both their lives and the lives of Scott's crumbling pack.

So this is my first fic and it's unbeta'd so any mistakes, please feel free to correct me. That being said, I have not paid attention to canon at all in this story. Allison lives. Gerard is dead, and so is Victoria but the Alpha pack hasn't arrived yet and to be honest the timeline is shot to pieces. Therefore please suspend your disbelief. This is primarily a story about Stiles fighting through all the odds to adopt the entire pack and cuddle them to death, whilst also feeding them healthy food because yes I know you've got werewolf metabolisms Peter but good eating habits are still important ok!

Loving them.

He wants to close his eyes but he owes Boyd more than that.

And then, abruptly, in this saturated technicolor still-picture moment of chaos and violence- the eye of the storm- the door to the loft crashes open. With the water and the metal and the force of it, the sound is almost guttural, and far too loud- even Kali seems startled.

Goapele Mohlabane(1)(2) (/ˈɡwɑːpəleɪ/; born July 11, 1977), is an American soul and R&B singer-songwriter. Her name means to move forward in Setswana, a Southern African language.(3)

Early life(edit)

Goapele's South African father Douglas Mohlabane was an exiled political activist who struggled against the Apartheid System.(4) Goapele's New York-born Israeli Jewish mother Noa(5) had been attending protests since the age of 12. Noa attended Friends World College and was studying in Nairobi, Kenya, where she met and married Douglas.(6) Goapele and her older brother DJ Namane Mohlabane(7) were raised in a California South African exile community.(8)

Both of her parents inspired Goapele to become very involved in community affairs at a young age. She attended the Berkeley Arts Magnet School, where she led a pre-teen peer-support group. She also became involved in various groups and organizations that combated racism and sexism.(9)

Goapele and Theo Rodrigues(10) have a daughter together, Bahia Osun (born May 2007).(11)(12)(13)(14)(15)

Goapele returned to Oakland after her time at Berklee College of Music, where she concentrated on writing and recording songs. In 2001, she self-released her debut album, Closer, which sold 5,000 copies.(16) At the same time, she was building a devoted audience through her popular live performances in the San Francisco Bay Area. 'Closer' peaked at No. 63 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.(17)

In 2002 she reworked Closer, adding five new songs. With the help of her family, she formed her own independent label, Skyblaze Recordings, to oversee her musical career. She released her first nationally distributed album, Even Closer, featuring the single 'Closer,' through Hieroglyphics Imperium Recordings. 'Closer' was also featured on the soundtrack of the 2003 movie Honey. In 2004, Columbia/SME Records picked up Skyblaze Recordings for worldwide distribution and rereleased the album with additional tracks. She co-wrote and co-produced the entire album, which is a mixture of neo-soul, trip hop, lieder, and jazz. She also toured North America with the band Spearhead. In 2004, Even Closer peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Charts for Top Independent Albums.(18)

Her second album, Change It All, featuring the single 'First Love' and the song 'Love Me Right,' was released December 2005. The album featured production work from Jeff Bhasker, Mike Tiger, Amp Live, Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and Linda Perry.(19) In 2006 the album peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Album Charts and No. 2 on the Top Heatseekers while the single 'First Love' reached No. 18 on the Hot Adult R&B Airplay.(18) Goapele appeared on Soul Train to promote the album in May 2006, in what turned out to be the show's final new episode. She also appeared on The Orlando Jones Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, ABC View from The Bay and FOX Good Day Atlanta. Her first three releases have garnered praise from the likes of magazines such as Rolling Stone, Nylon, Interview, Marie Claire, Billboard, Essence, and Vibe. She has appeared on the covers of local Bay Area publications San Francisco Magazine, Diablo Magazine, East Bay Express, SF Bay Guardian, Mugshot Magazine, and City Flight,(20) She was named the number-5 artist to watch in the July 2003 issue of Rolling Stone magazine, made the countdown on MTV’s Top 10 Artists to Watch, and collaborated with ALDO Shoes’ advertisement campaign in its fight against HIV/AIDS, which featured artists such as Avril Lavigne, Ludacris, Dave Navarro, Charlize Theron, Pink, Eve, Rosario Dawson, Eva Mendes, Bow Wow, Ziggy Marley, and Kelly Rowland.

Break of Dawn(edit)

On July 10, 2009, Skyblaze Recordings leaked the single 'Milk & Honey' (produced by Bedrock), the first single from her third studio album of the same title.(21) However, in August 2011, she announced that the album would be titled Break of Dawn. The album is being recorded at the Zoo, home of Goapele's Oakland-based Skylight Studios and will feature production from Drumma Boy,(22) Bedrock, Kanye West, Dan Electric, Mike Tiger, Bobby Ozuna (Raphael Saadiq, John Mayer, Erykah Badu), Malay (John Legend, Mary J. Blige), Jeff Bhasker (The Game, Kanye West, Ludacris, T.I), and other guest musicians. After many delays, the album was finally released on October 25, 2011.(23)

Victory(edit)

In celebration of the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa Goapele released the single 'Victory' featuring South African emcee Hip Hop Pantsula, a prelude to her upcoming musical project Victory, which was released in Winter 2010(citation needed) and feature an array of artists from the African continent as well as throughout the Diaspora.(24) The leading track was recorded in English, Setswana, and Xhosa and tries to draw attention to the need for education and resources to combat Africa's most crucial dilemmas. The album will also encompass philanthropy, political and social activism. Proceeds from the project will go to ANSA (Artists for a New South Africa) a non-profit organization working to combat HIV/AIDS, assist children orphaned by the disease, advance human and civil right, educate and empower youth and build bonds between the U.S. and South Africa through Arts & Culture.(25)

In 2014, Goapele signed with singer Eric Benét's record label Jordan House and is in the process of recording new material for her new label.(26)

Strong as Glass(edit)

In 2014, Goapele released Strong as Glass, her fifth studio album. The lead single was 'Hey, Boy' featuring Snoop Dogg and the video was released September 10, 2014, on YouTube.

Human rights work(edit)

Goapele performed at rallies, demonstrations, and various political events around the world from Cuba to South Africa. On September 14, 2006, the California-based Ella Baker Center for Human Rights honored her with its first ever Human Rights Cultural Hero Award(27) during the center's 10th-anniversary celebration, which was titled 'Tribute to a Dream.' The following statement was issued by the Center regarding the award:

We are proud to name internationally acclaimed, Oakland-based (singer-songwriter) Goapele the first recipient of this award. But as successful as she is, Goapele remains deeply rooted in her home community and in the struggle for human rights. We first saw her sing at rallies and demonstrations when both she and Ella Baker Center were just starting out. Today, she is still here with us, side by side, looking forward to a better day for all of our people.

The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights is a non-profit strategy and action center. The stated aim of the center is to work for justice, opportunity, and peace in urban America.
