Harry Osborn has been Spider-Man's damsel more often than any female love interest and that is just so exquisite to me on so many levels

For one, it's always pleasant to see older comics do a bit of fucking with traditional gender dynamics. Two, it adds to the heaps of homoerotic subtext. Three, this pattern is one of many things that build to Harry's insecurities about being "weak" and needing to "become a man" boiling over and sending him into a tragic spiral of destroying both himself and those he loves - until he gets to be the one who saves Peter for once. And not because he's toughened up, but because he's accepted that his love for this man is an unstoppable force

On one hand 616 Harry deserves SO much more appreciation and popularity as he is literally the blueprint for every other iteration and the most nuanced, fully fleshed out version of the character and I'm 100% sure that if he was conventionally attractive 616 Harry/parksborn would have an iron grip on the queer portion of the comic fandom at the very least

On the other hand I know a bigger spotlight would also invite the most garbage fire fandom wank imaginable over this character who 1. Is deeply morally complex and 2. Has endured a fair share of terrible writing choices motivated by writers' dismissal of his narrative value mixed with run off the mill comic ableism so like.
