Hey, gentle recognition for the people who are taking care of themselves in "not aesthetically-pleasing" ways. To the people who have to do things they don't want to because they know they would suffer more if they didn't, to the people who have to brush their teeth with their fingers, to the people who have to use washcloths to bathe, to the people who need to punch pillows or scream into them to express their intense emotions, to anybody ashamed about the way they need to live and take care of themselves.
You are doing the very best you can with the hand you've been dealt. It's not easy, it's not pretty, but it sure as fuck takes so much to do these things. You are doing what is best for yourself, and I, for one, think you deserve to be proud of that. Self-care isn't easy. It isn't pretty, often, but it's something you shouldn't be ashamed of or hide away because it's deemed "grotesque" or "not really self-care (because self-care is pretty and non-threatening to 'normal peoples' senses)"

Odysseus Reveals Sanity
Inktober day 4. Dodge
You can dodge the draft or dodge the baby, there is no secret third option. I haven’t attempted reading the Iliad since I was ten, but being screwed over by your past decision is very on-brand

Paul being normal over John: A compilation
“John is kinda like a constant … always there in my being … in my soul, so I always think of him”.
"Blue Jean Bop,’ the opening track, reminded me of John because he had the album. But John is always just in my soul."
"I'm often thinking of him. I dream of him".
"I soon came to love his beery old breath. And I loved John."
"Delicious boy, delicious broth of a boy".
"l would just sit around and hug him forever, because that’s the depth of my feeling for him."
"There was a guy up on the platform with curly, blondish hair, wearing a checked shirt – looking pretty good and quite fashionable. He had his glasses off, so he looked really suave."
"John had beautiful hands"
"I do have a connection with John and I don’t expect it to go even though we are separated by death. It’s just something I will always feel."
"If I'm going to see a face in a painting, it's highly likely to be his"
"John was always to the left or to the right of me, so I never got to sort of see him perform so much. Except in the film. And there he is in massive closeup. I can study everything about him.”
"I would often sketch John when we worked together, often without him knowing it. It was so easy doing John because he had glasses, those sideboards –or sideburns – and that long, aquiline nose.”
"I recently bought a lot of drawings and writings by John. I have them on my wall so I get to look at them all the time."
"Even though John’s dead, I don’t feel like we’re ever going to be apart. I think we’re a part of each other’s lives, we’re a part of each other’s karma."
