DEAREST ANON im terribly sorry for the wait :'D ive been rather busy with school and now did i just find the time to answer this thoroughly! This'll be a longer ramble than usual, so buckle up! I hope i made sense with this! ^^

Let me starts off with saying that im DEFINITELY not the first to notice these details! Im confident that there are multiple posts all around other platforms that discussed this!

In the memory zone, theres a bunch of flora youd be able to see! Some are leafy and some are flowery. The memory zone - from /my/ understanding - is almost like the Narrator's headspace. A box of old polaroid pictures. A bookshelf housing dozens of aged books collecting dust. A dusty attic that he visits every once a year to clean. In short- quite literally his /mind/. Well- a more nostalgic part of it, at least.

Now if that is his headspace, then itd most likely be filled with things he likes reminiscing or mulling over (especially the first few sections of the memory zone), and one of those things that are present - along with positive reviews, a nice cozy cabin, a sky, dirt, an ACTUAL outside world - are, y'know, flowers!

And not just ANY random bout of flowers- no, no, no, no- but flowers that actually TIE IN with what the memory zone IS. The flora can be interpreted as a manifestation of his actual feelings, or it can be,, i dont know uh,, just,, /there/, but im leaning more towards the latter ^^

Now- this is /technically/ where i would end this explanation, BUT i wanna discuss some of the flowers i noticed in the game and what their meanings are >:]

The ones id like to focus on are the flowery ones, since im not very well-educated with the "shrub side" of flora ^^; the rest of this ramble is below the cut! I wont delve into much about HOW they tie in, since i think theyre rather self explanatory in a way, and i dont want to drag this on any further than necessary ^^;

Let's start with one out of three flowers that i noticed - hypercium

Hypercium (alternatively known as st. Jhon's wort) usually symbolises hope, resilience, and power.

And then we have poppies! Which are one of my VERY favorite flowers that are in the memory zone because THIS little darling

Symbolizes hope, resilience, and death. Now- /why/ do those /specifically ordered words/ ring a bell..?

Now- my very favorite one - chicory

This little darling symbolises endless waiting and perseverance! Quite self-explanatory considering the section of the game it's connected to, hm?

Now theres this one shrub that im not familiar with-

I have OPINIONS but im not going to voice them here, its not the post. I can say though, they are very negative.

Essencially what you need to know:

Pm fired a CG artist because of their political views relating to a retweet which happened around 5 years ago (the artist is relativley young while being an adult, they looked into the artists past which... taking teenagers actions into account while judging an adult should only happen when the teen commited terrible crimes) due to them getting a lot of hate from the korean side of the community which apparently spiraled from them getting a wetsuit ish and not a bikini ish among other things like update direction. And yes, it started on an incel forum, at least screenshots say so.

The political views are centered around feminism which is viewed negativley in south korea due to their extreme views and actions. If you want to see their state or mind when it comes to feminism, check the tumblr post made by: @fatestayyuri on this situation.

All 3 games are being currently review bombed by angry korean fanbase and by the angry western fanbase

Evidence of death threats given to PM are given out in a comment made by @worthy-opponents as well as the stance of the attacking group.

(I apologise about putting it in the wrong section yet again, this situation is going off like hell and I can barely keep up weeding out actual useful information out of the useless shite, will take the blame tho, ain’t trying to wipe the blame or anything, again sorry if I insulted you in any way that wasn’t my intent)

Note and edit: the original target of the cyberbully attack was the artist who was actively responsible for drawing the ish wetsuit artwork, however upon discovering the artist is male, the attack switched to Vellmori due to her deleted feminism driven retweets. The lack of sexualisation of wetsuit ish is seen as radical feminism by the group who decided to start such an attack. Which is why they decided to target Vellmori. Note. These retweets were deleted around 3 years ago and recovered using the wayback machine.

Another note: there is no winner in this situation, the group did threaten project moon with physical violence if they did not remove Vellmori. PM already had to deal with death threats from the Asian fanbase before when LoRs ending happened if you remember that situation. They didn’t want to risk actual physical harm to their employees. I am only stating the information as I find it not trying to influence your view on the situation. I just want you to make a rational decision.

Yet another note: The biggest PM server on discord went into lockdown due to spreading misinformation.

(taps mic) (coughs) hi its me, average sad queer person. I just finished my first playthrough of "Creatures Such as We" by Lynnea Glasser. Its an interactive fiction game that isnt Too Long that its overwhelming, but long enough that it delivers a very (VERY) satisfying narrative. I loved this story! Under the readmore I went autism mode and wrote a review for it, but the TLDR is: Awesome choice based story with dialogue that doesn't feel weird and good racial and queer representation.

The story is FULL to the BRIM with CHOICES you can make- I got so immersed, I could project onto my character without the dialogue feeling weird. Its always a bit strange when the character you play as say something that you wouldn’t, especially in a choice-driven game. Creatures does a really good job of dialogue that fits your personality. Creatures is also super inclusive, allowing you to play as a nonbinary character (yippee!!!) and allows you to pick from diverse racial options that go BEYOND "white, black, vague POC" despite it not affecting the plot much (at least from my experience of it.) The cast of characters overall also features racially diverse characters, and at least one queer person! (I cant be certain of other characters, but the one I romanced was queer! hooray!) The actual narrative of it is so fun, too. It takes place in space, with some sections of it taking place within a game (THATS NUTS!!! a game in a game!!) You're a tourist guide on a moon base, which is already a bonkers cool concept on its own, but the subtle worldbuilding of it is really intriguing. Despite it being a generally lighthearted thing (for the first half, at least), the story did a great job at making me feel anxious during some of the more tense scenes. I'd get into the story more but I really don't want to spoil it. Theres breaks between chapters- you've got to wait around 5-15 minutes between a few chapters, but it only really happened to me about 3? 4? times throughout the whole thing, and the story took me few hours to get through. The breaks were nice, and gave me a moment to stretch and reflect on the story so far, ruminate on some choices. You can also pay to skip the wait, a one time payment of $5, but the author definitely deserves more support than that HAHA. But I'd argue the experience was absolutely more pleasant with little breaks in between. I'm almost certainly going to be playing through it again, definitely making fanart once I have the time, and ABSOLUTELY going to recommend it to everyone I know. And in case I haven't convinced you yet, heres some other reviews on the site!

mega mans first game!!! does it hold up??? lets find out!!!!

i assume i dont need to go too in depth as to how mega man gameplay works. you likely already know but ill explain a bit anyway. u are given the choice of 8 robot master stages (6 in this game) and after beating those, a few more linear stages after those referred to as the fortress stages, with a final boss at the end who is (almost) always dr wily. after beating one of the 8 (6) robot masters, u get their weapon, certain weapons are strong against certain enemies and bosses, etc.

the popular consensus regarding this game is that it isnt very good, and to a certain extent, i agree. this game is pretty clearly their first attempt. only 6 stages, passwords werent invented yet (meaning if ur playing on an og nes and need to leave, youll have to start the game all over), and a bad game design moment that ill talk abt a bit later.

despite it being the first game, its graphics have aged pretty well, and still look pretty nice today. of course later games would have better graphics but mm1 still looks damn good

the music in this game is pretty good and memorable! my favorite tracks are elec man's stage, guts man's stage, wily fortress 1 and wily fortress 2, and the ending theme.

the special weapons are pretty good, the thunder beam (elec mans weapon) is the best but everything else is still pretty good, my least favorite is the super arm (guts mans weapon), as you can only pick up specific blocks...

this game is known for its hard difficulty. its one of the hardest in the series, though theres a pretty infamous glitch that cuts the difficulty down by about half. its known as "the pause glitch" and basically involves you constantly pausing the game to abuse the bosses invincibility frames. unless ur a Super Ultra Pro Hardcore Gamer™, ur gonna need that pause glitch bcs bosses like fire man, elec man, and yellow devil are way too friggin hard without the pause glitch or any other fancy tricks.

theres a moment a bit later on in the game thats quite infamous for being badly designed...so in elec man's stage, theres an item called the magnet beam, you cant miss seeing it but u need either guts mans weapon or elec mans weapon to break the blocks and grab it. heres the thing: the magnet beam could have easily stayed as a fun little bonus utility if you went through the effort of obtaining it.

instead, theres a section in the first fortress level that you cant pass without the magnet beam. since "exiting the stage" wasn't invented yet, if you dont have it, youll have to lose all of your lives, get a game over, go back to elec mans stage, grab the magnet beam, and finish the rest of his stage or get another game over, and go back to the fortress to finally pass through. incase you couldnt tell...

in conclusion, this might be a hot take but i think mega man 1 is a lot better than people give it credit for. did it age perfectly? no. are there better mega man games? yes. is this game even good? thats debatable! however, i think out of the 716 licensed nes games, this still outclasses a good majority of them. good controls, good music, good graphics, a lot of aspects of this game still hold up today.

mega man 1 gets a 3.5/5 from me :)

reading: i have been assigned to present the first literature review at the end of this week for a class that im in because of my, quote, "outstanding background in geodynamics" (this is not true) so unfortunately all i have read this week is a paper on the evolution of hadean-eoarchaean geodynamics. i do not understand it <3 most of my reading section of the tuesdayposts are going to be scientific papers for the foreseeable future because of this class (we have to read and review one paper per week) (only one person has to present on it though i just got unlucky and got saddled with the first one LOL at least im getting it out of the way!)

watching: some tiffanyferg..some well theres your problem (i like the youtube videos so much more because ooh slides, also sometimes there's cat photos inserted), not a whole lot else. i want to finish cowboy bebop.

making: did some test prints of that block ive been slowly working on for months!! it came out pretty good! i have some cleaning up to do on it but im otherwise very tickled. that's a print baby!!!

misc: health is still touch-and-go. my gastro put me on rifaximin for two weeks and i thought it was helping but today is the last day of the course and its all gone back to hell a bit so idk any more. hopefully im just experiencing Antibiotic Side Effects at this point that will go away once im no longer taking it. if it's not ill probably have to look into finding a gastro out here. it's really exhausting dealing with this all and i will never ever take my physical health for granted ever again. however i am back in my own apartment and in a schedule again so at least my mental health has been helped by that. keeping my chin up for the days ahead!!

so a few days ago i bought an ~Adult Gentleman's Entertainment~ magazine on ebay cuz it featured a person i am a fan of in it and there was a listing for 2 dollars so i was like yeah sure why not, i collect magazines/books/comics etc, i have a specific little suitcase in my room where i keep my magazine collection specifically and theres plenty of room for more, get on in there. and the whole situation has just kind of been cracking me up ever since because

1.) i have never bought like. anything remotely nsfw for myself ever aside from like. Lollipop Chainsaw or Bayonetta, like M rated games that might have suggestive themes or stuff like that, because i have very little independence due to the limitations of my disabilities and have only had my own personal income since i was approved for disability payments in like 2020 or 2021 so i'm still very new to the concept of having any money that isnt birthday or xmas gifts from family to spend on anything

2.) because of the above part, i immediately felt like a big ol scumbag because i got a swimsuit edition type of magazine with a buncha pretty ladies in it and Those Are For Adults!!! Not Me, A 25 Year Old Grown Adult!!!

3.) i havent checked my public profile section in a few months on ebay but im pretty sure i have it set with my bio to be like '25 | she/her | big fan of anything vintage/retro' just 'cause i think it's nice for me to give a bit of an idea of who someone is selling stuff to in general, but then my profile picture is like, official Barbie art from the 80's/early 90's era Barbie design and my name shows up on my profile which is a very traditionally feminine name and the whole profile is just. very femme presenting, very obviously Flamboyant and Girly™️ in nature (i dont use a specific gender label for myself aside from nonbinary as kind of an umbrella term but i am very femme by choice as im sure nobody could ever tell by spending two seconds on any of my online profiles lmfao)

anyways. the person i got it from who was like the exact opposite of me and had a pretty masculine seeming profile/username/general online presence was very nice and shipped it out super fast and left me a positive feedback right away after they shipped that was very kind so that was all wonderful. and it arrived in like two or three days or something so of course i also immediately left a nice positive review and added them to my saved seller section in case there was ever another collectable thing on there i would be interested in. but the point of the story is just. it cracks me up so much whenever i get something on ebay that is not a part of my typical like, aesthetic/community and theres this unspoken knowledge between me and The Ebay Seller that I Am Gay. Dear friend,

I had my intake counselling session earlier this week. I told the counsellor how things in my life had taken a turn for the worst and she seemed to be very sympathetic about it, ending the session by stating that I had a very hard life. I told her about how I had talked to my guidance counsellor in high school but that it had done nothing; that she had done nothing knowing I was being starved at home. She had me elaborate on the story and asked me what I had hoped the guidance counsellor had done. This question made me giggle a little internally because what do you mean what do I wish the counsellor would have done? How about get me out of that living situation or offering me some food? Which was exactly what I told her. She told me that there were counselling groups on campus that support "relationships with food", as though my issues were somehow an eating disorder. I found the idea of this group laughable because what would it really offer me? Unless it was a free all you can eat buffet whenever I wanted, I couldn't really see it being much benefit currently. She documented what I said in her notebook, dividing each topic by a little section. In the section designated to her bringing up the food group she wrote the letter "N" I to document my answer being "No".

She went over the letter "N" several times with her pen, making it bolder than the other things she had written. I wondered what the purpose behind this was. Why was she trying to make my response to that question stand out so much ? It was like the pressure of her pen on that letter was representative of how much she disagreed with me. Like she disagreed with me not getting help with that issue. I wondered if she would readdress the topic in later sessions and somehow push the topic of me getting help with food to the forefront. I wondered all the things she wanted to say but didn't because it was unprofessional or because she just couldn't be sure yet.

She made me take tests on depression and anxiety stating she was concerned the effects my current distressing state had on my mental state. I was curious if these tests were diagnostic or who would be reviewing my results and what their thoughts would be about me.

I wondered how unaware and naive I was in this situation, telling so much about my personal situation to a person that had the power to tell me so much about it. I wondered how many times she pushed the imaginary button in her mind signalling "this bitch really needs help" as there were many times in the session she expressed to me a great happiness that I had come in.

She told me it would be around 3 weeks until I was "matched with a therapist" and if I had any specific qualities I was looking for in a therapist or anything I was hoping to avoid. Although I said that there were none I am a little apprehensive about having a male therapist as I don't know if I have ever shared any of the things I hope to share with my therapist with a man. Theres a fear of getting inaccurate, sexist advice but also I would assume a chance of unlocking a perspective that could've helped me all along.

I think I'm most fearful of elevating a person to a place of trust and believability that they will misuse and ultimately take advantage of. I am scared that like most people that I let in, will become the architecture of my demise.

i wanna uhhhhhh update my ffxvi post: i did end up giving it a chance and so i will elaborate on the Me (tm) official review: theres a lot buckle in (spoilers for th3 entire game)

First id just like to say soken delivers another phenomenal soundtrack(no surprize there) Historie - the holy empire and Titan lost are some of my favorite tracks in the game i cannot say i expected anything otherwise and it was a delight to get to every major dominant battle to hear what he cooked

on the topic of battle the gameplay was another huge plus for me. when all else failed i found myself returning to ffxvi for the gameplay alone because it is very genuinely fun, fast paced, and i enjoyed the variety of each eikon it kept rhe game fresh for me espically when it slowed down in every other aspect, i enjoyed every eikon battle to death whenever i couldnt decide if i /liked/ the game while playing i remember fighting titan. i had no clue how the fight would play out despite being late to the scene and i was blown away by how good it was. everything about it was so enjoyable it honestly empowered me to get to the rest of them and bahamut was just as much of a treat. it helped i love dion (i will be getting to characters) and his phase themes (beyond the heavens&ascension) were brilliant. the bahamut fight much like titan did not disappoint. for me at least it felt odin had a bit of a much welcomed difficulty spike enjoyed that fight a lot even if it wasnt as cinematic as bahamut and titan

speaking of... cinematic scenes were a weak point to me.. as cool as they were and they /were/ i cant help but feel like there had to be a better way to interrupt the fight. sometimes it really took me out of the moment to have my fight paused to just like press a button or mash or some shit. its fine just got old /fast/

as far as the rest of the battles they were all fun adn well and good.. i enjoyed every fight theme and found every fight mostly enjoyable although i cant help but feel the DPS check section fighting ultima where you kinda fly arounf him in circles would have been leagues more fun if it was a drakengaerd 3 style synced to thr music event... imagine that....it would be so awesome it woukd be so cool................. anyway as far as the actual final fight.. well lets get to the characters and story first

i wont be discussing the controversy surrounding the game because, despite it impacting my experience playing the game in very real ways, it just isnt what i wanna get into in this base post

alright. maybe i wasnt paying rnough attention but the story to me fell apart when ultima became a bigger actor on the stage. absolutely dont get the lad or the crystals. were destroying yhe mother crystals cos theyre killimg the planet fine well and good the story's pacing in this part was really wonk to me haha it would go from desperately boring an sluggish to fun for a moment and then just so boring again. it wasnt until the final two mother crystals when i became invested in whats happening. the mothercrystal plot twist was like oh ok well cid died for nothing /shrug i really dgaf either way i only really care my beloved mid. i really found myself most invested when characters i liked specifically becme involved with the plot (dion its dion its always dion)

dion's story to me was easily the best (yes my favorite heavensward character was aymeric. whos fucking surprised) fang and and vanille always had the most profound impact on me as far as ff relations go and its def because they were the closest thing we had to a canonical queer relationship and i will say dion and terance felt.. good? i know theyre not the /best/ and fang and vanille were leagues ahead of them a decade ago bit theres that just the way theres no question about their queerness just felt so good to see as a long time queer fan of the series who put up w its homophobic moments lol........... they were definitely a genuine highlight for me and their relationship was so beautiful and refreshing i wish we saw more of them.. especially because clive and jill just did not hit lolll. i couldnt believe how little i resonated with clive, joshua too. for me i usually have no problem relating to the main cast they all feel so human and real even when theyre cartoonish theres an undeniable down to earthness and relatability of most of the ff main casts i just couldnt bring myself to really care about clive

jill's story was for a brief moment something interesting and exciting. this was a woman in a yoshi p game w her own arc where the male character plays a fully supportive role and she isnt put in a passive role for her own story to move someone elses development along jill for the briefest moment maintains her own active will to get closure on her trauma where she isnt punished for it its just so disappointing its her only moments in the game. her character arc is chapters short and afterwards she would almost exclusively play passive roles, even giving clive her powers after they share an equally intimate scene both naked and venerable only for a dynamic to be reinserted through the form of dominant's power

clive was just nothing to me, i honestly tried to like him and i did mostly enjoy joshua as a character but i just did not ever care for his story ultima was so unfleshed out and strange ffxvi was best when it was pretty grounded to the on continent conflicts, the story doesnt feel like it was built around ultima the story honestly feels like it was built around the empire and ultima was an after thought. and man vs empire and then suddenly extraterrestrial/celestial freaks are involved isnt even uncommon ff plot progression. i could play like 5 other final fantasy games at that point. if the combat in ffxvi werent so addicting it would have nothing. (untrue of course it always has a brilliant soundtrack) i just really did not like the way the game built off itself it never felt natural or believable. none of the conflict with ultima felt grounded or natural or like it was built up in any meaningful way

i really dont understand the hype around clive hes very genuinely just a pretty face. i just dont care about u at all no matter how hard i tried

i never cared about hugo or benedickta either, although theyre like tertiary antagonists to be fair

joshua was another highlight for me. hes just very polite and jote was cute if definitely underutilized. i really dont have much else to say i wasnt surprised he died

clive i knew would die, that was a spoiler i knew w out a doubt going in and i was completely disappointed in it anyway. joshua made sense at Least he was basically dying the entire game and dion well. it makes sense yoshi p would kill the one gay man we cant have shit in eorzea but seeing clives entire arc be no dont kill yourselfffffff..... the world and its endless beauty is a bounty of possibilities and meaning. just to die anyway feels well. it just feels and to be fair clive did sacrifice himself for the lives of others but the scene where cid tells clive not to kill himself- regardless of how ungentle he put it- just feels so empty because well clive u could hav just killed yourself there i guess. sorry you were a slave for 13 years youll die before you get to live your life for yourself. like cmon narratively a more satisfying arc for him would have been to overcome this and live for himself even if he has to live w out joshua. he can move on hes done it partially before hes accepted himself he must live but he doesnt get to

its a shame. also unrelated the final fantasy namedrop made me reel but i forgave it for honestly being a little camp......... the lodestone name drop is Not forgiven. just horrible someone shpuld be fired

i dont really have much else to say and out of a desire to post this soon im gonna wrap it up. honestly i had high hopes for final fantasy 16 and im not one to go "oh final fantasy now sucks" because i Love ff13. i love ff15. i liked ff14 a normal amount. but ff16 just felt underwhelming compared to them.. it looked leagues better dont get me wrong even if ill always think ff13 is visually the best out of 'modern' final fantasy for its incredible cgi cutscenes good art direction and the ps3 charm the realtime cutscenes in 16 sometimes felt undynamic in comparison but real time vs cgi is very literally games hardware vs movie so........ not comparable tbh the environment and general worldbuilding of 16 was just so lackluster. the world felt so unreal even if it looked incredibly real, the plot was unfocused at times and inadequately built up, the characters are mostly uninteresting, and the character eith the most meaningful connection to clive was torgal. well torgal and cid but cid dies and leaves a gaping hole in the 'good character' category when it was just him mid and dion to begin with

Irony of the batfam is like bruce adopted the batkids so that they have a chance of a normal childhood, but because of robin training i cant imagine there was time to be a normal kid day to day, going out with friends, just chilling, or just doing whatever or developing a hobby. Whatever remaining innocence they might have still had was proberbly stripped away as well.

so on my pc, I use the disc version and use nraas no CD mod to pass it asking me to insert the disc. Today we had a small update to the Origin Client for The Sims 3 that will enable the users who took part in our last Origin client update to now use the updated CAW tool.
