Last man standing ... erm planking!

Of the six of us that started our workplace plank challenge, I’m the only one still going. We started 23 days ago - but because it was a workplace challenge our challenge days were only the weekdays. Now that I’ve outlasted everybody I’m moving on every day for the rest of the challenge.
Today was the second day of 2 minute planks. It escalates fast from here in increments of 30 seconds.

Needing some help folks
As you may have just read my issue. No lifting over ten lbs for the next three weeks right arm. Golfers elbow not going to attempt to spell the real name. 
Not wanting to slow my progress. I don’t want to stop working my arms. Do you all know of any light stretching I can incorporate into my arms day? Dr notes light stretching is okay. I can adjust my other body specific workouts no problem. Looking into weightless arm exercises yields push ups, dips and so on which will not work.
If you think how I handled my arm routine today is okay? Just hit me up any and all advice form you all is welcome.

Got tagged by @theroadbacktoboston for a selfie, a screenshot and the last track I listened to.
Selfie is from last night…..evening with some whisky and a good friend on my boat. The screenshot isn’t that interesting. Not able to do a lockscreen one, it’s a RoadiD with emergency phonenumbers. The last track i’ve listened to is from Sophie B Hawkins……an oldie but still a strong one.

Five Strange Things
@marathonmelissa and @theroadbacktoboston tagged me so here goes.
1. In third grade I decided it was stupid to write cursive and ever since I’ve only printed. I dislike illegible signatures so I even switched to printing my signature. 2. I’ve had a newspaper subscription (real paper) since I got my first apartment at age 22. It always seemed like a sign of adulthood and it now it seems odd that getting the paper is considered strange. 3. I was born without my upper eye teeth - apparently it runs in our family. 4. I am afflicted with adult male ear hair. 5. I’ve never smoked pot and don’t drink coffee for the same reason. I already like enough things that aren’t good for me (sugar, chocolate of any kind) and don’t need to be tempted by any more. I wouldn’t have a clue about how to get pot and the best thing that could happen is that I’d love it - of course that’s also the worst thing that could happen. Same thing with coffee. Odds are that I would like it and I don’t want to have coffee breath or be one of those people standing in line at Starbucks forking over $4 bucks every morning. I kinda struggled coming up with these. I think I’m a pretty normal person but I guess most people do.

Did my 25 push-ups for today first thing this morning. This time I added a modifying technique. I went slow and low to increase the challenge. Slowly lowered myself all the way down to the floor but stopped and help for a moment just short or letting my body rest on the floor. Then I slowly pushed myself back up extended both my arms and pausing at the top but not allowing my elbows to lock.
This created constant time under tension and forced my arms and chest to work harder to maintain a slow pace and also hold positions without rest. I found it incredibly challenging and I could only do 15 before I had to take a break before finishing the other 10. You’ll notice my arms shaking pretty good on the last couple reps. But I did my best to maintain form and not let my back arch or elbows flare out.

25 push-ups for today done! + Another set of 25 after a minute rest because why not. Last set I focused on trying to go lower and slow down the final 5 and better squeeze and exhaust my chest muscles.

Finished out January on a strong note and did my 25 push-ups + another 3 sets of 25 for a total of 100. Got my 25 everyday this month, whoop whoop! Also did a 30 minute workout. Excited to report my month end morning weight check shows me up 2.2lbs which puts me close to on target to hit my +20lbs by end of September. Feeling good about my progress and like I finished January pretty strong despite sickness and setbacks. Had to celebrate with a post workout victory flex. Bring on February!!💪🏼⬆️

February 2023 Push-up/Squat Challenge.
I successfully did 25 push-ups and squats each day in January. For February I’m sticking with 25 a day but upping the challenge for myself a bit. I’ll progressively be adding to them during each day of the week to promote increased strength and keep from plateauing.
Each week in February will look like this for my push-ups & squats
Monday - 25
Tuesday - 30
Wednesday - 35
Thursday - 40
Friday - 45
Saturday - 50
Sunday - 25 (kneeling push-ups)
Today was a 35 day and I was able to get them in a single set.💪🏼 My shirt however wasn’t up to handling the increased strain😆

Throwback to when I was a bit over 190lbs.

I recall my mindset was stuck on feeling like I was small and making no progress. As I try to reclaim those gains and work my way back up into that 190lb range I look at it now and think “WOW” I was anything but small! Funny how our perspectives can change and how powerful our mindset can be.
Actually got up fairly early today and did a pretty aggressive leg core and glute workout. Felt like I was going to puke afterwards…been awhile since I’ve had that feeling. Also got my 25 daily push-ups and squats in as a warmup. Happy Thursday!

Welp, I’m sick with another cold….WTF!! I think my immune system is taking 2023 off. So frustrating especially just when I was getting back into a rhythm with my workouts. I did decide to still do my push-ups for today but chose to do them on my knees to not over exert myself. So this is what my version of kneeling push ups looks like for those who have been asking. That’s it for today…now it’s just rest water and vitamins to hopefully kick this thing quick!

I did not get up early enough to get my workout in before work this morning. (Working on changing this) I did do my 25 push ups and 25 body weight squats first thing this though which really helped me maintain a sense of accomplishment instead of defeat.
25 each day may not seem like very many but that’s 9,125 push-ups and squats in a years time. You can’t tell me that won’t have an impact.

Happy Flex Friday! Up at 6:00 and got a 30 minute upper body workout in to start the day. Did push-ups and squats as a warmup Today was 45 push-ups and 45 squats. Was able to just squeeze out 45 push-ups in one set and 45 squats had the quads feeling a little burn but no problemo.
