hi, ive had this art [ https://www.tumblr.com/verflares/739780313844252672/now-spell-angel-z-e-l-d-a-wrong-try-again?source=share ] as my phone background for several months and i find myself just...staring at it.
i love the muted colors. i love that Zelda has her back turned to the viewer, her solemn expression, holding aloft the stone in an ethereal way. the light dragon mourning a life she doesn't remember.
thank you for drawing it <3
!!! oh my gosh, thank you so much for the kind words! 🥺🥺 i'm really glad i could create and share something that people enjoy so much;

Heya!! so I don't know if you know it but there is this fic I read awhile ago. Heat Of The Moment by lizz-the-bizz on ao3 (about 40k words) and it is so good!!! I don't really remember the details of it anymore because it's been some time since I've read it, but basically it's a peter x reader/oc. And oc is trapped in a timeloop, and it has the usual time loop fic tropes you can think of, like depression, manic oc who tries everything to get out of time loop, death, grief, and so so much angst, whump, and hurt/comfort. Just Peter being the bestest boyfriend he could be and suuuch a good characterisation. I love him so much here. I've read it twice and sometimes still think back on it. Like the ending climax??? It was so dramatic (like car crashes, tunnels falling down, water traps, Peter maybe dying??) AND THE HAPPY END. Also it has some supernatural easter eggs, which is always fun (if you couldn't tell by the title). ANYWAY SO GOOD. LITERALLY EVERYTHING ONE NEEDS IN A FIC. I'm so glad I found it back than, it really might be one of my alltime favs. :3
Just wanted to share my love with this (and maybe get some more ppl to read it hehe).
I also love everything you write, and hope you have a nice day! ♡
THIS IS MY NUMBER ONE FAVORITE FIC I HAVE EVER READ. And that is saying a lot because @liz-allyn also wrote Sugar and Vice and that was a true masterpiece buuuut Heat of the Moment altered my entire brain chemistry and changed my life (I'm not even being dramatic). The way she wrote the tunnel scene will literally live on in my brain forever as what I strive to achieve whenever I write intense, gut wrenching moments. Like that's the goal. That's perfection. That's top tier and what I dream of creating some day. I dream of being that damn talented and my friend Liz did ALL THAT WITH THIS FIC
And you are correct, everyone needs to go read it if they haven't already because it's worth every second.

Hi there!
Ive recently stumbled across your works, and I just wanted to say that I enjoy your writing soso much!! Each time i read any of ur pieces, i feel ever so blessed that i can read them for freee,,, ??like wow!! I absolutely love your characterization of arthur, and any piece of banter you write never fails to make me laugh!
Your writing style is so addictive, ive honestly found myself missing it when I read anything else. Because of this, id like to ask if you have any book recs? hehee anything that inspired that brain and writing of yours seems like it would be a worthwile read!! From ur alltime favs, or recent favs, comfort books, or books that gave u personal epiphanies, pls feel free to not hold back !! (If its not too much trouble)
And once again, thank you soso much for all your lovely works!! 💗
I LOVE talking about books, so thank you so much for this ask. This is a very truncated list of some of my favourite authors and books because if I wanted to talk about all of them, that would be a post as long as one of my fics.
First up is Terry Pratchett, who I came to rather late; I just started reading Discworld in 2020, despite @clonemaster-general and @jinxedwood telling me years earlier I should read him, so they should feel free to be smug about the fact that I ignored their sound advice for a long time and then went, "Ok, where do I sign up for the cult" after reading approximately one (1) Pratchett novel.
Discworld is a fantasy satire series that's over 40 books long, but those 40+ books simply take place in the same world and do not have to be read in order, although I would recommend reading any subseries featuring the same characters in order (the City Watch books starting with 'Guards! Guards', the Witches starting with ''Wyrd Sisters' etc.) Pratchett did write some non-Discworld books, although the bulk of his very large body of work is that series. He was a very gifted writer who was able to present the stupidity and injustices of humanity in a way that made you laugh and feel that it's bearable to live alongside these things. No other author has made me laugh so much at dumb little puns or dick jokes and then suddenly slapped me with a banger of a line about human nature.
'The Once and Future King' by T.H. White. A retelling of Malory's 'Le Morte d'Arthur'. It's silly, it's touching, it asks why humans go to war. If you're tired of relentless grimdark, this book shows you that a novel can explore serious themes and ask serious questions of its readers while also being a bit silly and stupid, because like suffering, silliness and stupidity is an intrinsic part of the human experience.
'The Left Hand of Darkness' by Ursula Le Guin. I could really just say, "All of Ursula Le Guin's stuff" because I've read several novels, a ton of her short stories, plus most of her essay collections and I've loved them all, but I wanted to mention this one particularly because Le Guin was examining our ideas of gender and society in the fucking 60s and I'm tired of hearing right-wing nutjobs bang on about trans people like they're some alien species newly landed on our planet to kidnap our children. Also, what I love about Le Guin's sci-fi is that she was concerned primarily with the culture of alien societies, not laser guns, and her world building is incredibly deep in that regard. Her father was an anthropologist, and you can see how his studies shaped her writing.
'The Lymond Chronicles' by Dorothy Dunnett. I love me a good swashbuckler, and these are some good swashbucklers. There's also some really beautiful prose that really evokes the landscapes of 15th century Europe, and her action/battle scenes are some of the most gripping I've read. The caveat with this one is that I actually don't like the main character all that much; he's a real special guy who speaks all the languages, is good at all the things, is a master strategist at 20, and is hot to boot. But the story is told mostly through the POVs of other characters that get caught up in his exploits so you're not stuck in his insufferable perspective, and I found the books overall (there are six in the series) very hard to put down.
'The Count of Monte Cristo' by Alexandre Dumas. The OG swashbuckler, really. Shipwrecks! Duels! Poison! Revenge! People just don't do dramatic adventure novels like Dumas anymore.
'War and Peace' by Tolstoy. I can't not mention this; I've read it twice so far in English and once in Russian. Tolstoy was an amazing observer of human nature. Also, he clearly thought Napoleon was a little bitch and reading about him from the perspective of a Russian novelist is quite entertaining after reading about him from Victor Hugo's perspective.
'Les Miserables' by Victor Hugo. I also have to mention this one. Yes, there are very lengthy asides on the Parisian sewer system. In the middle of a chase scene. But tbh, Hugo was curious about everything and while maybe he talked about every single one of those things a bit too long, it still endears him to me. Also, he was known more as a poet than a novelist by contemporary readers, and even in translation I think the fact that he was a poet really comes through in the prose.
Also, really anything by Patricia McKillip if you want dreamy, poetic fantasy that feels like being dropped right into the middle of a fairytale where magic has no hard rules and is something a bit wild and dangerous and beautiful.
I also read a lot of non-fiction, so I'll just list a few of my faves: 'Survival in Auschwitz' by Primo Levi; 'The Gulag Archipelago' by Alexandre Solzhenitsyn; James Herriott's 'All Creatures Great and Small' series; 'Landmarks' by Robert Macfarlane (but really any of his nature writing; this one I liked particularly because it's about the power of language to evoke a sense of place and how our vocabulary for the natural world is slowly being subsumed by our increasingly technologically-driven world). 'The Demon-Haunted World' by Carl Sagan, which was written in the 90s but if anything is even more relevant today as we struggle with parsing the mythology of pseudoscience and the real-world harm it perpetuates.
And I read a fuck ton of poetry, so I'll just rattle off a list of some of my favourite poets: Wilfred Owen, Isaac Rosenberg, Siegfried Sassoon, Rupert Brooks, Edward Thomas (I also love his nature writing), Alexandre Blok, Pushkin, Ursula Le Guin (she's primarily known as a novelist, but she has some very good poetry as well), Mikhail Lermontov, Anna Akhmatova, Alexander Pope, Tennyson (particularly Idylls of the King), Seamus Heaney, and Yeats.
Anyway, this is a small sampler of books I've read and loved.

Fav manga/anime other than BNHA
ooooo good question! my alltime favs from childhood are probably Ranma 1/2, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Jack, Durarara, Detective Conan and Oremonogatari!
Some other manga titles I have really liked have been 21st Century Boys (1999) and Toward the Terra
I also really like Junji Ito's stuff! I'm not the best with jumpscare-y horror movies but his work is just soo creepy in a good way
And if we're talking anime movies anything by Satoshi Kon is a masterpiece- Masaaki Yuasa is also a fabulous director (Lu over the wall and The Tatami Galaxy are fantastic!!) Studio Ghibli too but everyone loves those (The Wind Rises is my fav Ghibli movie at the moment)

Hi! For the ask game, could I please request 3, and 12 for Kayo please?
hiya!!!!!!! tysm for the ask :D
3: favourite queer fanwork?
OH MY GOD. THERE'S SO MANY AMAZING ONES OUT THERE. all the art, all the fics....... @avengedbiologist's kayo/penny art from the first of this month is so dear to my heart and so is @knyee's jeffrano art (they're so beloved) - but ofc my alltime fav is the absolutely amazing and adorable kayo/penelope piece that @silverstarfics wrote for me for christmas because i completely lost it when i read it! it's so cute and so silly and i think about it so much <33
12: how would Kayo show off her identity?
(i hc that kayo's a lesbian and a demigirl, she/they)
right off the bat im thinking pride pins/little flags. she's got a leather jacket with pins all over it and their lesbian, genderqueer and pronouns pins are pride (ha) of place on the lapel! she's got little ones painted somewhere on shadow, and one of those small flags with the sticks in her room. also they'd definitely do some fun face paint and glitter in the lesbian flag colours for pride
tysm again for the ask!!!!!

idk if ur still doing the art prompt but mayhaps a doodle of your favorite plushie? if not tho then I'd just like to hear about whatever the plushie is lol (autism speaking cause I love plushies jrjehw)
YEAAAHH AUTISTIC PLUSHIELIKERS RISE im on my gaming laptop so u get a semiproperly finished thingy
Tumblr media
this was such a hard question to answer cause i have soooo many plushies its impossible to choose a fav but i thought about it and concluded my alltime fave was my stuffed rabbit from infancy/toddlerhood, Fluffy Bunny!
some Fluffy Bunny facts:
she had a pink ribbon tied around her neck and i would mess with it all the time
i remember her being really big, easily the same size as tiny me if not bigger. she was like 24 inches tall-ish
she had poseable ears with wire frames in them so you could pose the ears up and/or down, i always did one up and one down
when i was small i was real sick all the time and one of my first conscious memories was being at the hospital and crying my head off about getting an xray cause i was scared. the technicians offered to do an xray on Fluffy Bunny first to show it was okay so i wouldnt be scared to go after her, and i agreed
after the xray her ear wires started poking out of her fur and stabbing me when i'd cuddle with her, so my mom always had to pop em back in
i dont remember what happened to her!! i would have never given her away or let my parents toss her and now this thought is gonna keep me up all night wheres my GIRLLLL
thank you so much for this ask it was so nice to go down memory lane about her waahhhhh

fav s3 episodes/skits?
im so glad you asked i have a lot of opinions and a huge essay in the making on s3. in the meantime, allow me to answer more than what you actually asked for
what really annoys me is that s3, at its high points, really knocks it out of the park for me. its highs are high but, ofc, that makes its lows reach rock fucking bottom. somehow they wrote a season that its pilot and finale are some of my alltime favorite episodes but there is so much horseshit inbetween these really hard hitting segments
homerun tier skits for me usually have two or more of these: showcasing the full sextuplet interdependent dysfunction - not focused on duos/trios ("let's do chores", all of ep25), narrative self awareness with narrative also covering Personal diagetic narrative aka existential anxiety (<- 100% coherent sentence but think about a skit like "choromatsu's memorial hall"), performance/theater/creation motifs and premises ("contract renewels" -- also iyami's comedy school in s1 is a skit based on this premise of Being Performers, as is the skit in s2 where he attempts to commit suicide. that being said the latter is my #1 alltime fave ep for all these reasons as anything solely about osomatsu includes criteria one because he's the integumentary system). the secret fourth category is that it's totoko/totonyaa focused. i am not immune to yuribaiting
side note, can i just say ep1's translated title is "Untilted" but its actual jpn title is 降板 (koban) meaning in baseball terms leaving the mound/knocked out, or just resigning/withdrawing which *leans close to the mic to blow out my audio* i think better conveys the mental image of them getting strongarmed out of a job. this has been bothering me ever since i started planning the essay last year. but i digress.
Tumblr media
cour 1 is honestly overall solid but because s3 is ultimately about the introduction of inevitable change thru the omusubi and the twins' Denial of this change themselves, because the old guard appealed to them so much as does youth now glorify the experiences of our parents and grandparents and even older siblings. so cour 2 suffers from this seemingly intentional and implicitly malicious dropping of the ball. though, this is a bad faith narrative and i have so much more to say on this but that's for another time. however, i think the laziness in cour 2 was an exacerbation of the laziness shown in cour 1
with alllllll of that in mind, i like ep1, ep4, ep5, ep9, ep18, ep25, both "dimwit generation" skits, "totoderella" and "contract renewels"

where do you get the inspiration for your art style?
In vague terms I’d say I love drawing with spontaneity, so I try to capture that in my art, like that feeling of motion and vividness I guess ! But to mention some names, I’ve been always really inspired by Neo Rauch’s work who has an exhibition with Rosa Loy (love her work too) here in Finland rn! In general I like a lot of art that has originated from socialist realism, but also Leonora Carrington, Phil Hale, Richard Hambleton, Francis Bacon who are my alltime favs, and sososo many amazing illustrators/graphic novelists/Manga artists like Sergio Toppi and Yoshitaka Amano! ..I’m inspired by literally everythjng..seeing the art of other people, the art of my friends, my sisters, everything i reblog here on my tumblr lmao (tv, cinema, music, graphics, nature, weird shit etc)
Sorry for taking so long to answer and so sorry for the info dump lmao
