Could you IMAGINE the kind of power romancable companions in Fallout 4 could've had if they had interactions with you like the companions in BG3?
Why am I always living in the wrong timeline?

Diasomnia Book, Chapter 2 Translation [7, 28]
as always, my own translation. I am learning as I go, I do this out of love for the game. There will be mistakes.
DO NOT REPOST
Summary: Silver has a heart to heart with Malleus. This will surely have no consequences in the nearby future, right?
Note: jumping a few episodes ahead from my last post because I actually wrote this one first. I saw Silver angst and just had to get it out there, and then began from the start. Sorry for the non-chronological order and different formatting, it’s the lack of sleep <3
Previous episodes: NRC staff and students are at Lilia’s farewell party. Malleus is absent.
[7-28]
Main Street – amidst a snowfall
Silver has gone out to find Malleus. He takes note of the weather, it’s already spring but it’s very cold and there’s a snowfall happening. He finds Malleus near the Thorn Fairy’s statue. He asks him to please come to the party and say goodbye to his father before he leaves.
Malleus asks if the party already started. He tells the story of how the Thorn Fairy once gave some royals a special gift that surprised everyone. As the head of Diasomnia, he must follow the Fairy’s example. Silver objects and says that him attending the party is already enough of a gift. Malleus is still thinking about what to give Lilia. The wind picks up.
Silver feels very cold, he hurries Malleus back to the dorm.
Malleus: Oh, is it cold? I must have been unconsciously…
Silver: (…did he just stop the storm?)
Silver: (In the Valley it is well-known that when Malleus-sama is angry, thunder roars…)
Silver: (Was the snowstorm due to Malleus-sama’s feelings?)
Silver: (He didn’t show it on his face, but I wonder if separating from Father is hard for him)
Silver: (Of course, he has spent more time with Father than I have)
Silver: (I’ve only been here for 17 years)
Silver begins to get chocked up. Malleus says it’s time to go back to the party, but Silver tells him to go first and that he’ll follow later. Malleus notices that Silver is crying. Silver apologizes for showing him a “pathetic” side of him, but Malleus says there’s nothing pathetic about it and it’s normal for children to cry. Silver says that he’s already 17 and not a child, he will be an adult next year. He might be a child in Malleus’ and Lilia’s eyes, but it’s already been 17 years since he was the baby Lilia found in the forest.
Silver: Father is a fae, and I a human. There is no blood relation, and he had no obligation to take care of me…
Silver: But he still raised me all these years.
Silver: Every day he fed me, practiced with me, and stayed with me all night long while I slept.
Silver: Fae and humans are different when it comes to their fragility and aging…everything is different.
Silver: Few people in the Valley of Thorns know about raising a human child. Also, Father is single.
Silver: How hard it must have been to raise a human baby without having someone to rely on…
Silver: I cannot thank him enough. I was going to spend the rest of my life repaying his kindness…!
Silver: And now…even though I still haven’t given anything back to him...!
Silver: He’s dying alone in a faraway country!
Malleus:…
Silver: I…my father is losing his magic. And my body is weak!
Silver: Even if the day comes when I forget about everything, I hope I can continue to support him!
Malleus:…Lilia has such a good son.
Silver: I am not a good son at all! I can’t even grant my father his wish.
Silver: I wan to send him off with a smile like he wants…
Silver: But I- I…ugh…*sob*
Malleus:…
-----
I have so much to say about this, look at my boys! They’re both in pain!
Also I think this definitely aligns with my “Silver will be the catalyst to Malleus’ overblot” agenda. Also my “Lilia is [REDACTED]” prediction.  A win is a win.

When I find the perfect playlist for Yelan after having walked through (and watched) part of the first Chasm quest again. I forgot how far underground it is, how eerie it is, how the Abyss is encroaching all around it— and the Celestial Nail just gives me goosebumps. Yelan, you worry me so much; I just want you to be sane, and warm, and safe.

Hmm... Hot take warning, but since the new team took over, HS2 has steadily felt more like actual fanfic and less like the official semi-canon continuation that it was. I still LIKE it, I think, and I'll still keep up with it, but with the air of an odd-but-intriguing longfic instead of anything having any bearing on the characters or universe. 🤷

Maybe it's to do with how we're exposed to our languages growing up? I often get asked what my first language is and I just blank out because I legitimately cannot say whether it's Spanish or English. My dad only spoke English until he met mom, and mom was fluent in both English and Spanish when she met him. Meanwhile, growing up in PR during the 90s meant that 98% of the world outside of my childhood home was in Spanish, while the world inside our house was 99% English. TV, movies, music, books--everything was in English, and I was an avid reader. But also PR Spanish is so viciously "improper"/mutated that half our lexicon are badly pronounced English words.
Prende los parabrisas? Nah. It's prende los wipers. Dame un momento? Nope. It's dame un break. I was in AP Spanish during middle school and my teacher was a member of La Real Academia Española and boy howdy this lady had daily aneurysms because her students spoke like "American dropouts".
So like... I'm shrugging with plenty of confusion. There is no brain switching when I flip flop between English and Spanish. Words from both languages do blend together stupidly into a single sentence. It's not proper, but it just happens.
Granted, when writing dialogue it might sound weird when it's written by someone who's monolingual because conjugations might be off so on so forth, but that aside idk what some of y'all are talking about.

you know a fic is so good that you can’t even cringe or lose feelings when your brain, intentionally or not, switches off the language to your first language even though it’s written fully in English, your second or third language
