— I was not joking when I said all of his kids are equally accidental, okay. He's super ambivalent about passing on his genetics, so unless you feel strongly about kids one way or another, he likely would never mention it himself.

That said if you got pregnant after one of your escapades, he will defer to you about whether the two of you will keep the kid or not. He has a very "it is what it is" attitude about the whole thing.

&. If you've been trying for one, great! If not, then whatever comes up next is your decision. However, if you planned to keep the baby anyway then he has a bit of a "hm." moment where he worked out the logistic. Don't worry, he's not upset, he's simply trying to plan around having a baby.

Probably takes up less work so he can have more time with you. Publicly uses something like "need time to recuperate before the next album" but privately, his closest confidants know.

&. He's good at the preparation either way. A lot of the process of pregnancy is intuitive for him even if he didn't plan for any of this. He will begin to look up what is necessary and what isn't. If he happened to be the more organized one out of the two, then he will map out everything you need to do, from check-ups to diets, to exercise.

He'd encourage you to continue doing light exercises while carrying, it's good to maintain your good habits even while you're having a baby.

&. Because of your hormone imbalance, he will advise you to not take up as much work to avoid adding to your stress. He's infinitely patient with you and rarely loses his temper even when you're having a mood swing. Almost nothing you do can annoy him either, even if you're being clingy.

Even if you get jealous over his fans, he'd endure it in silence unless you act out somehow. The man literally transforms into a saint during these periods.

&. If the two of you haven't gone public before, then he'd notify his fan about him becoming a father anyway without divulging your identity. It'd be for the best that he's honest with his fans but he also needs to prioritize your well-being.

Maybe at a later date, near the birth. However, if he can, he probably keeps all of this under wrap if possible.

&. He's really good at giving you massages to help alleviate any of your aches. Foot, shoulder, boob, whatever it is, say the words and he will help you out. Most of the time in bed, however, he functions like your personal teddy bear and allows you to cuddle him however you pleased.

You already have his card anyway so if you have any pregnancy cravings, feel free to go on ahead and order. However, if you want something in the middle of the night, he'll be the embodiment of that "yes, honey" meme and climb out of bed to get it for you.

&. Is really good with any of your nausea if he's around. Always there to help you breathe through it, and if it gets bad enough that you throw up, he'll tie your hair back for you and stroke your back. He listens attentively to any of the doctor's recommendation and brings up any of your possible allergies or past symptoms if necessary.

He doesn't really get more enthusiastic even when the two of you visit the ob-gyn. Don't blame him for it though, it's how his face is. Might crack a joke or two about the shape of the baby after you got the ultrasound to relieve the tension.

&. Secretly finds it cute when you waddle during the later semester. Won't admit to anything unless you were seriously prodding. Find it even cuter if you got annoyed with him because of his reasoning. He also low-key likes how you look wearing maternal clothes. Just adorable all around.

He also gets a little more energetic when the two of you are out shopping for clothes and other baby necessities, too. While he has a whole list of things to buy for the baby, there's also a lot of planning around clothes since babies often grow out of them fast.

Buying for daughters is much more fun for him because of how varied little girls' clothes are. Although, his kid will get animal-themed clothes either way because of how cute they are. Look at the bear ears.

&. Will probably take you on a vacation before the baby comes so you can have your final moments to kick back and relax before the next few years of hell. Because he has the money for it, your babymoon will be somewhere nice and far, ranging from one to two weeks.

Probably at a resort where nothing but peace and quiet await the two of you. Honestly, half of this is for him, too, but he won't say that out loud and focus on you.

My experience at the show at Spektrum Arena, Norway, 30th april 2023 ❤️

THIS WAS THE BEST FUCKING CONCERT EVER.

I loved the person who'd done a list of highlights/thoughts and here's mine. It helps me remember what the fuck even happened 😂

SO! I'd been looking so much fucking forward to this show, and it just meant so much to me. They've been my favourite band since 2005 and I've never had the chance to see them before. And it was just the most wholesome experience. That's the best way i can describe it. I'd expected to feel super emotional and cry my eyes out, but I was just happy. Perfectly and superbly and absolutely HAPPY! Blessed to be there and to get to experience being in the same room as my favourite band and sing their songs with them. I was so so so so so happy and kept smiling and recording to have everything to relive later, and they were in a great mood and they sounded INCREDIBLE and Alex was such a little sweetheart. The most adorable man on the planet!!!

I can't describe the endless happiness i felt in my heart getting to sing along at the top of my lungs to my favourite songs, to watch these guys I've been admiring for almost two decades and finally see them with my OWN TWO EYES LIKE FUCK! And watch them play and interact and Alex being so happy and chipper, and getting to watch them do their thing fucking expertly.

And being in a room of other people who share that joy was just amazing. All i want is to do it all again. It was perfect, everything I ever wanted, exactly what I'd been expecting. I'd hoped for a different setlist, but who fucking cares! It was amazing and I wouldn't trade anything for the world.

SO! Highlights and rambly thoughts incoming!

FLUORESCENT ADOLESCENT!!!!!!! I SCREAMED

Other highlights for me were teddy picker, suck it and see, mirrorball and body paint. I was genuinely blown away by how astoundingly beautiful mirrorball is and i got so emotional thinking back to when the video dropped and i was up crying at 1am and how we all shared it and it was just 😭😭 flashlight moment here also

R u mine and dancefloor fucking SLAP!! They're just sosososoos good and fun and they sound awesome!!

I FREAKED OUT SEING THE GUITARS!!!!!

In general i thought the audio was really good!! Alex's voice sounded incredible and the band played exquisitely!! The sound in the arena wasn't muddled at all and it wasn't so loud everything was drowned out. also the big screens are so pretty??? the big circle one ofc but also the others, the colour grading is superb and my photos dont do it justice at all! i loved watching when the circle would create an infinite image of circles and alex's face in the middle

I was the only one standing up and dancing in my entire section during brianstorm but i was too busy rocking out to care

He said "hellooooo... I'm over here... By the piano!" after the lights had gone down and he'd moved there in the dark, it was the most adorable thing ever. His voice was all small and smooth and cute and jazzy, like the lounge singer he is. Could so easily imagine him in a dark jazz club somewhere sweet talking everyone from behind his piano

His voice is higher in real life!!! Someone said it and it's so true!! Sounded so much like his older self

He was in such a great mood! So happy and excited to be there and he kept saying little things to us, saying "so many rockers gathered under one roof, Oslo!!"

During the big solo in body paint he went around to all his bandmates and played with them all, giggling and smiling and it was ADORABLE. And the solo itself was SO LONG AND COOL AND AWESOME !! He just kept playing!!!! AND he also did the piano thing at the same time! And before he started playing the solo he did a little headnod to himself

He did the bowling bit during pretty visitors!!! and celebrated himself for landing an imaginary strike

The crowd was a little dead, very much just TikTok people and dads with their little kids. At least in my area. Might've been better down on the floor tho

Before they went on during the preshow playlist the crowd did a big wave all around the arena!

There was a flashlight show during four out of five! and there was the red blinking lights and a slow ending!!

It was literally the most wholesome experience!!! I was smiling the whole time, so happy just to see them having fun and playing and being happy. It was exactly everything I wanted it to be

Except for the fact that they didn't play From The Ritz or Perfect Sense 😔

The lights and the mirrorballs were so pretty!!! People screamed for it!!! They had two! the one in the ceiling and the one on the set and they used that one during wanna be yours

At the end of R U Mine? Alex went up to Matt and they had a little chat and giggle and I caught it on the big screen and Alex looked like Humbug and taotu for a second and then his smile was so pretty and I'm !!!!! 😭😭😭😭🥰❤️❤️🥰❤️ Most adorable man in existence!!!!

And the end Alex didn't want to leave the stage and he kept blowing kisses and waving even after everyone else had gone and the lights had been turned off, he just kept waving 😭 i sent him so many kisses back i just couldn't help myself

He kept saying "Terrific!" and "Excellent!!! Really, excellent!!" and he mentioned he was having such a nice time!!

HIS VOICE DURING DO I WANNA KNOW WAS SOME OF HIS BEST VOICE WORK THIS ENTIRE TOUR.!!!

When they returned for the encore everyone was applauding and screaming and he tapped his heart and did a little shy gesture, like waving his hands at us like "oh stop it you" VERY CUTE

HIS VOICE IS SO BEAUTIFUL I CANT BELIEVE HOW GOOD HE SOUNDED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE THING

It was really a lot seeing him irl with MY OWN TWO EYES on stage, and then on the two big screens and ALSO in the big circle screen!! That's a lot of Alex Turner at once and it made me emotional!!

He wore the red scarf when he entered the stage but took it off immediately after sculptures

They did a slow piano bit before why'd you only call me when you're high!

Also the low-key suck it and see intro, the slow solo in crying lightning and slow solo intro for don't sit down too!!! Very cool!!!

His hair was a big gorgeous mess at all times!

Toms guitar malfunctioned during the Arabella solo so Alex and the lights were just going crazy to nothing and i snorted at the view on the big screen of Tom not playing 😂

Star treatment!! "What doya ~*MEAN*~ you've never seen blade runner?" Alex did such a pretty high note and he looked so impressed with himself afterwards. wiped "sweat" off his brow too. also this song is so beautiful??? they do it so well live

Even if the upbeat rockier songs are my absolute favourites, the thing that really hit me at the show was that they really fucking excel at creating beautiful slow moments. The slower songs and the lights and Alex's voice and everything coming together - no one can fucking beat them at that. That's fucking growth, gentlemen. And it was glorious to behold.

Four out of five is so fucking funky when they play it like that! Alex's voice was GORGEOUS ON IT! It reminded me so much of a star wars soundtrack for some reason, like a super cheesy 80s one. also davey played bongos!!!!???

They played the new version of 505 which was great (even if i prefer the punch of the old one) but it was amazing still! Alex played guitar on the Vox Starstream which was a super treat and he seemed to enjoy himself immensely!

He played legit looked like he was going to smash his guitar for a second but then it was just the baseball thing after body paint. wouldn't have put it past him if he'd smashed it tho! his energy was through the roof!

DONT SIT DOWN IS A FUCKING BANGER AND IT KICKS MY ASS. Alex was stomping all over the stage to the beat and rocking out so hard!! It sounded SO GOOD and it's still one of my absolute favourite live tracks of theirs !! It's so fucking cool, the beat is so deep and heavy and the guitars are back it up and !!!! I WAS SCREAMING FOR THIS ONE!!! Lived up to all of my expectations!!

Also they did teddy picker and i was so happy!!!!!!!! Was rocking out so hard!!! I love that one and it works so well live and !!!! LOVED IT!!! Even if i knew it would probably be at the expense of Ritz

Sculptures REALLY PACKS A PUNCH!!!!!! ITS SO POWERFUL!!!! I was so sad that it was over so soon, we need it twice in the setlist!

THE CROWD WAS SO LOUD! Mostly during the popular songs BUT STILL IT WAS A JOY and I'm so proud so many people love this little band

Also even if Arabella is kinda overplayed at this point it's still such a live banger!!! And they obviously have a lot of fun playing it

Between don't sit down and why'd you only call me Alex sat down at the piano (see earlier point 😭) and played a little interlude where he sang "that was don't sit down cause i moved your chaaaaaiiirrrr oslo and now is why.. you only call me when you're hiiiigghhh...." very cool and smooth and jazzyyyyy

He generally said a lot of little things in between songs, saying OSLO!! all the time and little comments

The big mirrorball was lowered during big ideas and it was very pretty! He did the sit down slam thing on the piano! he looked very serious for a lot of the song!

He did a lot of spreading his arms and posing, lots of running hands through his hair, lots of stomping and waddling around on stage.. all in all very cute behaviour!!

Ok, I’m sick of seeing only Netflix posts lately so I’m ranting about Simon lol

Unfortunately I had some nice paragraphs written for this but tumblr crashed while I was writing so this is my second time making this post (TwT)

TL;DR with the rant under a cut for easy scrolling, I am deranged and have studied all of Simon’s outfits, here’s some fun tidbits and I guess kinda a guide about his fashion sense :3

Oh boy, where to start XD. Castlevania has a lot of intricately detailed usually gothic and/or visual kei inspired fashion designs, usually with some amount of historical accuracy, thanks to Ayami Kojima, that the series is known for. But before this, the character design style was very different. From the very 90s shonen anime inspired Richter, to Christopher being deadass shirtless in a skirt at one point, to John Morris being in basically casual clothes, there’s a lot of variety in it.

Well, being the silly Simon super fan I am, I’ve studied all his outfits a ton over the years I’ve been a fan of the series and oh boy they are INTERESTING :3. I’ve noticed a lot of elements are consistently reoccurring, specific to him, and some are very much not specific to him lol. Anyway, just trust me on this one, overanalyzing the closet of an NES barbarian to be able to make new outfits for him is FUN >:3c.

So, I’ve seen him not wearing pants thrown around as a joke before, but it’s actually the truth! Besides the Haunted Castle wedding suit (an outlier that should not be counted lol), I actually have never run into a design where Simon is wearing full length, proper pants. The closest he ever gets is black tights in Simon’s Quest and occasionally shorts, but on that topic, shorts aren’t even his most common choice! Let’s look at some of his oldest designs:

This one is really hard to tell, but based on the angle of the lines, the shadows, and context clues from other art for CV1, I don’t know if that’s actually supposed to be shorts 💀💀💀!

In both his cute little manual doodles and his almost more adorable teeny 8-bit sprite, his outfit is a belted tunic of some sort! So like, the equivalent of a really tiny dress or a long shirt XD. And really, his cover art design is kinda just a more detailed version of these. They both have a distinction between a top and bottom part of the upper half, they both have big belts, they both have the tall boots and arm guards, they both have teeny skirt part, and Fun Fact! They both have red in the hair! I color picked a nice high res scan of the CV1 cover art, and yes, there’s red in his hair!!! It’s like a nice mix of dark reddish blond, it’s a very fun hair color :3.

However, that’s not where CV1 ends in tunic vs shorts debate:

THAT’S A SKORT— DO YOU SEE THAT DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE HALVES, ONE IS DEFINITELY A PANTLEG LMAO. So yeah, skort Simon is also a thing thanks to this particular magazine scan lol, thus leaving us with the possibility that it is both a skirt and shorts on the CV1 cover that he’s wearing X,,,,D. Never change, Simon, never change.

Besides the tunic, there’s some other interesting details to his CV1 era designs! :D In a lot of depictions he has this neat cape, something that returns in some Simon’s Quest art and Smash Bros lol, but he’s never shown wearing it in game. What’s interesting is that Trevor actually gets a cape in his game’s opening as well as Christopher in Belmont’s Revenge if I’m remembering correctly. It’s very neat seeing Simon character design details rubbing off into other characters :3. I like to think lore wise that it’s the same cape that’s been passed down to Simon from those two.

He also has the headband! Iconic! But have you noticed the little ball shapes at the ends of the tails? They’re either knots or, infinitely cooler option, beads :D!!!!!!! And I wouldn’t be surprised if they were because that leads me to another design: X68000–

Now this one is one of my favorites :3. It’s kinda like a forward facing version of his original design but with some new details! And his headband gets this cool lookin, intricate distinctly metallic design on it, something I’ve seen a lot of artists simplify to a general crescent moon shape. But it is kinda similar to the shape on his belt buckle, something that I still have no idea what it’s even supposed to be. Also, his arm guards and the thing at the end of his necklace (which may or may not have vampire teeth on it, they could just be metal spikes though) are similar; it makes me wonder if it was an attempt at a tortoiseshell pattern? Filigree? Whatever it is, they’re all matchy matchy about it.

This design also gives him the staple left shoulder pauldron, of which has these huge stitches holding it on and an added belt that connects to his other belt armor. Get used to belts, he has a lot of those X,,,D. What’s really neat about this one’s belt is that he has both a hilt for the family sword but also one for the whip on the other side, and they’re on the wrong sides for drawing the weapon properly 💀💀💀💀. Which is also funny considering his CV1 cover art has the sword on the other side, which is kinda wrong too? Who knows, maybe he’s ambidextrous and just doesn’t care what sides they’re on lol.

The biggest thing I can say about this design though is that a lot of these accessories and armor pieces look homemade, like as if he just took teeth as a trophy himself and strung them on a cord or made a shoulder piece and put it on an already existing belt he had. Adding onto this, there’s also the possible beads on his headband and the cords around his boots (which could be an attempt at a certain actual historical type of shoe that I cannot remember the name of for the life of me rn, in which case would make these not boots and actually corded shoes with very nice big fluffy socks hehe, I am forcing you to imagine him with big fluffy socks—) and yeah! I can see him making his stuff on his own :3. Which is so cool! I love this idea so much, it makes for a lot of things to imagine him doing hehe. Also gives him a hobby??? Yeah :)

No indication of if he’s got shorts or not in this one, maybe I’ll count how many have skirts or shorts and put that at the end of this lol.

But shorts get another point again cause we’re looking at Chronicles:

Oh Chronicles. Well, the first thing I wanna mention is that, this is Ayami Kojima’s design for him, so here we are seeing a very interesting mix of the visual kei style and 80s barbariancore in a way that honestly slays (figuratively and literally). And, surprisingly, there is something historically accurate about this design, and it’s not what you’d probably expect. Based on the width, material, cross rivets, and the buckle on the front, Simon is wearing an actual dog collar. Like, for dogs. Like it’s dog armor used primarily for hunting dogs I just— Again, never change Simon, never change 💀💀💀.

We also see Simon preferring to put his armor on his left side again with the torn in half coat. It’s also somewhat similar to 1600s coats, not really of any specific country in fashion that I can tell, however the sleeve being that short is not accurate, leading me to believe that he probably tore that off too lol. Very Chrom Fire Emblem of you, Simon, and another example of him D.I.Y.—ing things. The basic elements still stay similar to past designs. Shorts, distinct upper and lower half of shirt, belts, armor on said belt, sword and whip hilts, arm armor and tall boots (shout out to the heels on this one), and armor on the left, unfortunately no headband though. But that distinct bottom half to the shirt part of his outfit in this one is defined with… a corset? Yeah!!! That’s a corset!!! Though the proper name for the time period might be a stay or a girdle, but Simon is straight up wearing a belt over a corset. And said corset over a coat. Half of one. Don’t question him—

But the main entries to his 80s bara-barian half of the wardrobe, let’s get to some knightly aesthetic outfits, of which he does have a good amount, starting with SCV4:

Simon’s knightly outfits are usually a similar silhouette as his original tunic look, just in metal this time and in various colors. SCV4 has his armor as gold on the cover, blue on the Japanese cover and manual art, and green in game! And they’re all pretty much the same with mild variations. On the cover art, his shoes are corded sandals with nothing under them, but in game and in most other artwork they are these metallic boots with the classic X shape of the cords baked into them. Some art gives his middle belt armor section this cross with snakes on it, which is an odd thing to be referencing here. It’s either a staff of Mercury, usually associated now with medicine but was an alchemical symbol before that, or something else I can’t find any info on. There’s also a big ab window because these are all proper half shirts lol. Straight up a metal breastplate with nothing under it, a pretty bad idea tbh 💀.

All in all, these are generally really simple, but there’s one more thing before I stop talking about SCV4:

I LOVE this design. It’s this really nice blend of the older CV1 era style and the metal armor of the later ones, very cool. Shout out to the eye creases and the dead stare shadow over his eyes too, they really conveyed the effects of witnessing the horrors well lmaoooo.

Again, tunic, belt, arm guards, headband, the usual, but, speaking of symbols, there’s something about this one that’s been driving me nuts forever: I cannot find out what that symbol on his paldrons and belt buckle is!!! It’s this upside down triangle with a bent rectangle missing the bottom line over it and it LOOKS distinctly intentional, but I can’t find it or what it means anywhere!!! I tried searching through lists of alchemical symbols, religious symbols, nothing so far has been close (TwT ). Regardless, great design, definitely in my top 5.

And what else is in my top five? Oh yeah babey, it’s Simon’s Quest time:

Ah, Simon’s Quest with his fuck ass bob and the stolen Ravenloft image— but unironically, that armor fucks fr. Again, similar silhouette! If there’s any take aways from this post, it’s definitely that Simon is a little shirt, little pants kind of guy. A severe lack of long sleeves and long pants legs until now, and even then, these are skin tight. Heck even his boots(????) are vacuum sealed, just look at those fabric creases by his ankle!

Now, it’s honestly really hard to tell if his “gloves” and “boots” are supposed to be in some parts metal due to the shading on them and the base armor being very similar. I personally like to depict the forearm and calf parts as metal and the hand and ankle parts as not, but eh. Like most things regarding Simon, I suppose this too is up to interpretation XD. There’s some variation in color in some scans having the underclothes be white, dark blue, or black, and the armor be any range of red to purple to brown too. But towards red and black is probably the most accurate due to his sprite being those colors.

But this is a shockingly rare case of Simon being fully covered in one of his outfits, and I’m inclined to think that there’s probably a reason for that. Not only does he have a rotting curse right now and drawing straight up gore on the cover of an NES game was just not an option lol, but he’s not letting his guard down anymore after being hit. Which would also explain the sudden change to all metal armor as that can’t be cut through as easily as leather.

Speaking of all metal armor, oh I looooove the detailing on his. The gold accents to his byzantine (a nice in between color of red and purple, a color that is also reused in Smash Bros again in the middle corset section of his outfit) are what I would call stylized floral patterns, kinda in the way that fleur de les don’t really look exactly like flowers but still are supposed to represent one. Not sure what kind exactly, but possibly some sort type of angel’s trumpet? Very neat regardless. The gems inlaid in it are all green on top and around the belt, but the center belt buckle is bright red. It’s a very jewel tones color scheme!!!

Well anyway, if tumblr will let me have more images, I’d like to show off a few other random examples of outfit elements he’s had before I close this off with something :3

This was a pretty recently found scan of Simon wearing get this: a pleated miniskirt. Probably Roman armor inspired, as some of his other magazine scans have depicted him as such. One ad for SCV4 and another (live action even) for Simon’s Quest has him even wearing like a Roman helmet and everything, it’s odd. Add helmets to the list of things Simon might wear. Hmm maybe I should make a tier list of things based on how often he’s worn them…

Moving on!

This one goes for the bold choice of giving Simon not only an expected tiny belted tunic, but side slits on the legs! And uh um a little too much detail but uh— It’s also this kinda white, kinda bluish, kinda silverish color? Add this to Simon’s color palette I guess lol.

Which reminds me that I didn’t mention colors very much until now whoops. Throughout all of hie designs he primarily seems to wear neutrals like various browns, greys, and metal tones. But he also has a lot of color. Like as in there’s enough different colored designs to make a whole rainbow of Simon outfits. Common combinations like dark green, gold, and wine reds; blue and silver; brown, gold, orange, and kinda purplish greys; etc etc. And his HAIR. Oh boy, would this guy love modern hair dye X,,,,,D. He’s had it various blonds, reds, browns, even black at one point, blue, green, unnatural red, pink, and in one concept design white! Personally, I like depicting it as a nice in between of red, blond, and brown, it encompasses the most I think.

The final thing I wanna mention is the Smash Bros design, which I unfortunately can’t show because I’m on mobile and have met the 10 images limit whoopsie— (_ _ ;). This design is really a good culmination of a lot of elements. Not really definitive or anything, but very good :3. And it has something I didn’t mention earlier that I’ve noticed in some Simon designs: random belts or metal around his upper arms and thighs lol. The Smash Bros design in particular has the arm band things on both sides, Chronicles has it on the not half coat one, but this is another thing I’ve seen other characters (Christopher in particular, but his are just gold rings) have. The leg thing is less common, but yeah, that exists lol. Thank you Simon for uh bending two pieces of metal around your leg…? It’s cool XD. The corset also makes a return, as well as, once more, the same basic silhouette with the armor only on the left side, the belt armor pieces, etc etc. He’s very particular about that—

Well, anyway, Simon definitely has a vibe going on, but here’s a brief summary of things he seems to like:

Skirts, tunics, long shirts, and shorts (and skorts I guess), but nothing past about half his thigh, generally over the knees.

Ah, it's hard to choose just 5 for the top of my list...! There are a number of ships I really like; I feel like I'm excluding some of my favorite children, haha. These are the ones I think about the most often, though.

5. Urara/Kurara: There's something really sweet about how Urara has seen Kurara at her worst and still loves her unconditionally. ;; On Kurara's end, it's more bittersweet-- she's painfully aware of how much Urara adores her in spite of how nasty and temperamental she can be, and it rips her apart inside because she doesn't feel like she deserves to be loved like that. I will withhold the "kurara loves urara too" essay for now for brevity's sake, but MAN Kurara loves Urara too!! She loves her so much that it's tearing both of them down!!!! RRAAAAGGGHFGDH it's too good......

I find it so cute that Urara refuses to give up on Kurara, even after they had such an ugly breakup. She knows that she messed things up by accidentally being insensitive, but she also knows that Kurara has issues of her own that she needs to sort out. In Urara's Kagome interview, she's like, sure, maybe things are bad right now... but people can change with time, you know? Maybe in a few years, they'll have grown enough emotionally that they'll be ready to make amends and give it another shot. I'm rooting for you, world's most patient clown. o7

Urakura can cover every base from fluff (remember, they used to be best friends!) to angst to hurt/comfort, making it very versatile and engaging to me. Combine that with the trope of "I love you no matter what, and I'll be here for you even on your worst days" (my weakness), and I never stood a chance.

4. Hikaru/Ao: My first Arc 2 ship, and still one of my favorites today! I remember seeing cute fanart for it way back when I first started playing the NA server and being super excited for the game to get to Crimson Resolve so I could learn more about them. :') While NA may have died before then, I am infinitely grateful that fan-translations mean I got to see these two anyway! (thank you hebinomiya and MUT for my life)

To explain a bit about why I like them, hm... They've got a nice dynamic in general! It's on the fluffier side without being bland, I think. Ao is playful in a way that feels a bit distant at first, but slowly opens up and starts to trust Hikaru more (a big milestone for how traumatized Ao is), while Hikaru gets a hit or miss crash course in Making Her Own Decisions. It's also interesting to contrast their individual ways of distancing themselves from their suffering (Ao trying to treat life like a game; Hikaru leaning hard into her role of "the Horse"), especially since they've both criticized the other for... doing almost exactly what they're doing themselves.

The way Hikaru tries to comfort Ao when she's scared or sad is cute, even if she doesn't know how to go about it. While Hikaru is largely numb to having to kill people at this point (wow, that's not depressing at all), she knows Ao isn't, and she gets worried when it seems like Ao is in over her head. Hikaru was the first person to worry about Ao after she accidentally killed Ryou, and when Ao seemed out of sorts in her MSS, Hikaru was the first person to seek her out. It plays nicely with Hikaru's struggle with agency as well-- she wants to help Ao, but she doesn't know where to start because she lacks experience and the ability to think for herself; she's caught between her personal desires (supporting a friend) vs. her duty to Promised Blood's goals; things like that.

As an added bonus, their designs compliment each other very nicely. Blue and orange is a solid combo. :> (And for one minor thing, I love that Ao has a swimsuit line where she's self-conscious about being a little pudgy, and then Hikaru has a swimsuit line where she says she thinks Ao is really cute. Tsuchinoko Real)

3. San/Miyuri: f4 could not have tailored a ship more closely to my interests if they tried. It's a little embarrassing... listen, you can't have san say "when she loses consciousness, she becomes my doll" and not expect me to think there's something going on These two pushed Neo-Magius from "kinda neat" to being my second-favorite faction. They're perfect as individual characters, and even better together; I adore the way they play off of each other. The way they want the best for the other and try to nudge each other towards success, even if that means enabling unhealthy thought patterns or behaviors and inadvertently strangling the other's personal growth, is fantastic.

And, of course, the lighter parts of their dynamic are just as good!! It's readily obvious how much Miyu loves San, but San loves Miyu too; she's just more subdued about showing people she cares for them. I think sometimes people forget how sad San was when Miyu started avoiding her out of guilt-- while it might not have been the same type of instant affection that Miyu felt towards San (at least until she saw Miyu dancing by herself and blushed over how pretty she was), San had very quickly gotten attached to Miyu as her baby, and was devastated to think that she might've lost her so soon.

They're more alike than they seem at first glance, and I think that's part of what makes their bond so strong-- San sees her old self in Miyu, and wants to watch her improve; Miyu sees herself in who San used to be, and admires that someone so timid can grow up to be so outwardly brave and capable. The whole thing is so sweet to me... ;;

... I might also mention that my headcanons for them help boost this up on my list, aha. I picture San as being very tall and broad-shouldered, and Miyu as a tiny little thing who could blow away in a strong breeze, which makes for a cute contrast. :')

2. Juri/Yuna: Oh man, where do I start? Everything about this ship is just perfect to me. I don't care whether they're friends, enemies, lovers, or what as long as they're together; their dynamic is flawless in every way. I'm stoked that they finally got a dual unit! ;_;

I am SO weak for the way Yuna cares about Juri. The gang wars could've been solved or prevented if Yuna had killed Juri before the situation got too bad, but she didn't want to do that. Yuna was so determined to leave Juri alive that she orchestrated that whole big fight in the first half of CR specifically to bring Juri down without killing her. It's not something that Yuna is proud of, but the fact that she manipulated a bunch of other girls (which unfortunately resulted in some casualties) because she loved this one particular loose cannon too much to kill her... man. Devotion.

Yuna is incredibly patient and understanding with Juri in general, which is extra cute to me because almost nobody else is. She knows Juri isn't a bad person, just struggling with mental illness and shitty circumstances, and no matter how Juri feels about herself, Yuna still loves her and wants her around. Not for her strength or holding Ryuugasaki together, but because Yuna cares for her as a friend. It's so... [clenches fist] AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`)

It's readily apparent how much this acceptance means to Juri, too. She used to rely heavily on Yuna for venting her stress since not only could Yuna go toe-to-toe with her in a fight (and willingly does so), she doesn't resent or demonize Juri for being the way she is. Even when Juri was hellbent on defeating Yuna in CR, she's greatly upset when she thinks that she might've actually killed her (or in the bad end where Juri does kill Yuna). For all of the animosity they held towards each other, they need each other; they don't honestly want the other to die. (Not alone, at least-- the scene where Yuna stops Juri from killing herself has an undercurrent of "how dare you try to leave without me", given that Yuna was also suicidal at the time.)

I am, as you can tell from this list, very weak for ride-or-die loyalty (or dubiously healthy attachment; take your pick), and juriyuna delivers that in spades, with all of the dressings and extras I like. Yuna's refined, serious, thoughtful personality and Juri's rowdy, aggressive, playful personality bounce off of each other in ways that are always enjoyable to see, whether it's something heavier like CR or fluffy like the Please, Yuna-san event. Top quality ship.

1. Bat/Ranka: "hmm, what if..." ← me haplessly coming up with an idea while reading CR for the first time 3 years ago, about to inflict an unbreakable curse upon myself

If I had to pick a number-one favorite ship in the series, it would be this. I am trapped in a hell of my own creation... We don't see much of their dynamic outside of CR or Ao's MSS (though Ranka does talk about the Bat elsewhere), and we've hardly gotten any of their relationship from the Bat's point of view, but that just means I can have a field day reading between the lines and piecing together a story from the scraps we do get. Enrichment!!

Ranka's "I need someone strong to follow or I'll die because I can't survive by myself" vs. the Bat's "I need someone prey on or I'll die because I can't survive by myself" is a great parallel that makes for a unique flavor of codependency. Sort of a "marionette and puppeteer" dynamic, I guess? Whatever you call it, it's 100% my brand; I go nuts for this stuff.

On Ranka's end, she knows that this relationship is unhealthy, but she keeps coming back anyway. Some of it is that she sees herself as too weak (physically and mentally) to make it on her own, so she clings to the Bat because being treated badly is better than being dead or alone. Some of it is probably that she sees herself as an awful person, and feels that she "deserves" to be hurt like this as punishment for how spineless she is (a feeling that compounds itself with every horrible thing the Bat makes her do).

It's a form of self-harm, in a way-- but even so, their relationship isn't always bad. The Bat liked Ranka enough to appoint her as her second-in-command, and for what it's worth, she did protect Ranka from the Futatsugi gang wars. She didn't take any issues with Ranka's abrasive, badmouthed personality, either! In fact, the Bat must've liked that about Ranka if she chose to keep her so close, haha. (And this is headcanon territory, but since Monzenbashi's base was an abandoned arcade, I have to figure that they shared an interest in old video games as well.)

In the end, Ranka is left in a thorny position where she hates what she has to go through, but can't bring herself to leave. After all, they have their good moments. The Bat loves her, probably. If she left, she'd be free from the abuse, but she'd lose the sense of safety and familiarity that the Bat gives her. That sort of struggle is super interesting to me-- I really like how this ship explores how loving and hating someone isn't necessarily a cut-and-dry thing.

On the Bat's end, while she does know that what she's doing is wrong, she adamantly believes that she needs to exploit others or she'll be the one to get exploited herself. She's a selfish coward who chews up the weak for personal gain and spits them out when she's through with them, viewing everyone else as either a threat to be disposed of or a tool to be used... and yet, despite all of this, she's shown to genuinely care for Ranka.

I am constantly thinking about the Ao-Ranka fight in CR where the Bat jumped to Ranka's defense, saying that she's going to kill Ao herself if Ranka is going to let herself get hurt like this. The Bat- the girl who gets a sick thrill out of torturing the helpless, who's too paranoid to trust anyone- loves Ranka enough that it made her angry to watch her get hurt. For as cruel and "save myself and fuck the rest" as she is, she has one person she wants to protect.

Something about the way the Bat wants to keep Ranka safe while also treating her like a pawn; hating the thought of losing her, but afraid of letting her get too close... fuckinf!!! Good Shit!!!!! Mix that in with Ranka's conflicting feelings about the Bat and I have a dumpster fire that will keep me warm for years.

I could be delusional (this ship is largely in my head), but it feels like a pretty realistic portrayal of an abusive relationship to me. There are all kinds of things to dig into here, from how it could get worse to how it could get better, and I just... auuuuggghhfhfh MAN im going to fling myself into the sun i love them so MUCH

If anyone's OTP is on this list, I apologize-- please know that none of these are a moral judgement or anything! 99% of my NOTPs are just ships I find annoying for one reason or another. It's nothing personal.

5. Rika/Ren: Truly the plain dry cornflakes of the magireco ship world. It's so Generic Yuri Manga that it manages to be frustrating in its lack of substance. I understand that it's one of the most popular ships (if not the most popular ship) in the fandom, but I'm gonna have to pass. :{

4. Ao/Ranka: Do you ever have a ship that bugs you, but you can't put your finger on why? This is one of those for me. Which is weird, because I am very much a multishipper when it comes to Promised Blood! And I adore the way that Ao and Ranka's relationship is written in canon! They have a really rich dynamic; I love watching them make that awkward, gradual shift from enemies to friends, where they clearly want to be closer but also don't quite know how to feel about each other. As a romantic ship, though... Eh. I've tried reading fics and stuff for them, but it's just not my thing.

3. Tsukuyo/Tsukasa/anyone: There isn't a single character who doesn't feel like a third wheel here. Sure, the twins might love her, but not as much as they love each other; she will always sort of be on the outside looking in. Tsukuyo and Tsukasa are so deeply, unshakeably intertwined that I don't even like shipping them monogamously with other characters (a singular exception being that I have a passive appreciation for Kanagi/Tsukasa), so adding a third girl to the mix is out of the question by default.

Yukika is probably the worst offender in terms of third wheel-ness because of her "Akatsuki-senpai" thing, but Amanes/Mifuyu wins the general awkwardness category by virtue of giving me the unfortunate impression of a mistress to a married couple. I tried reading various OT3 fics with the Amanes to see if I'd warm up to the idea, I did, but... it's regular amanecest or bust for me.

2. Kuroda/Asahi: it's not even about the abuse and general assholery on kuroda's end (heavy drama can be interesting with the right framework) it's that the idea of shipping asahi with a dude gives me hives

1. Himena/Hiko: het ship allergy strikes again, im sorry 😔 Sometimes I feel kinda dumb for this one because I know I'd probably like it if Hiko was a girl, but alas. Not only do I have negative interest in M/F, Hiko is the most boring self-insert-looking nerd guy they possibly could've designed. Ungh. (himena is a fun, fascinating character, i like her a lot, but the depths of my distaste mean that whenever a scene comes up where himena talks to/about hiko, i subconsciously overwrite it with "hiko is a girl" or "hiko is imaginary" to make it more palatable to me orz)

Plus the "unpopular boy gets bullied for dating popular girl" plotline feels super contrived to me-- while my experiences are obviously not universal, I usually find that unpopular guys get boosted up the social ladder if they manage to land a date with a popular girl. The whole "forbidden love" trope needs to be done in a very particular way in M/F ships in order for me to not find it stupid, and this one doesn't hit the mark.

... and this is a silly thing to be annoyed by, but it really does grate on me that whenever you ship Himena with a different character, there's an 85% chance that at least one person will come along like "what about hiko?" or "poor hiko" or "ot3 with hiko!" or whatever. Even if you specify that you've written Hiko out of Himena's head in some way or another (got his own body again, never existed in the first place, etc.), someone will make him the focal point regardless. It's happened to me, and it's happened to a few other people I've seen. :'| Frustrating to see an interesting comment on himesasha or w/e get derailed into "but himehiko!!", as if everything Needs to revolve around this one singular boy.

owen, infinitely. i could write essays on why i love owen - hell, i have written essays. and at this point, you know when a character means so much to you there’s not even words for it anymore, they’re just kind of a fundamental part of you? Yeah. but nonetheless, i guess to majorly sum it up, he’s just one of the most utterly broken and fascinating characters i’ve ever had the pleasure of coming across. there's just a visceral sadness and anger to him that immediately reeled me in and i don’t think i’ll ever get over it, like he actually haunts me. and he made his way into my top 3 characters of all time in just a few months, which is pretty damn impressive. something just kinda clicked there. (and i highlight how fucked up he is, but then he's also complex enough that he's got a silly/dorky side too, which im super endeared by as well. i love his complexity. perf character for me, hes got like 30 things going on and im intrigued and compelled by all of them. i love him endlessly.)

also, okay, i’ve observed my favorite characters tend to unintentionally fit certain criteria, like when i look back at all my favs i can sort them into three categories. namely, it's 1) characters that make me lose my mind bc theyre so interesting (and/or endearing), 2) characters i relate to, and 3) characters i’d smash. fhdjkf. i tend to visualize it as a venn diagram, and most characters sit in one or two of the circles - owen is, i believe, the absolute only fav i’ve ever had who’s firmly in the middle. which probably has something to do with why he’s top 3. dhfdsjk

as for secondary favs… well, i absolutely adore the rest of the team, especially ianto and the girls (including suzie!!!!!!!! my girl suzie). i’m not sure why, gwen’s become a particular favorite. she gives me like cuteness aggression HFKSDF i wanna squish her (lovingly). she’s so fucked up n interesting, but also a lil gremlin to me. i love her playful side she’s such a love.

one-off characters… actually, quite a few have stood out to me and made an emotional impact. torchwood has had some wonderfully talented guest actors who really managed to get me attached to their characters, despite having so little screentime. carys, eugene, and beth all come to mind. i think about beth a lot. and maggie, ohhhh maggie. ill talk about aditd a bit tomorrow, ff.

also the episodes with mothers, oh g-d. eugene’s mom, and jonah’s, and jasmine’s. all really heart-wrenching, and damn good actresses. i always get emotional with plotlines about parents + their kids, fff. parental pain + fear just hits diff idk. i used to watch a ton of criminal minds and that was about the only place my empathy jumped out fhsdkfjd.

i also love the various romantic interests - john, diane, mary, lisa, mark (cough), katie, tommy. rhys!! i love you rhys. torchwood is such a character-focused fixation for me like g-d i just adore every character sm. so many good ones. A day spent to enjoy the company of the partner and to do all that bunch of couple stuff, and that's how the day went...until the roller coaster. She was not a big fan of these, but you were, so she decided to please you, riding them with you. Her only condition was that after that, you would have bought her something from the store of the park. You agreed and took her with you on the main attraction. She spent the entire ride screaming and covering her eyes. At the end of the experience she was really dizzy, but she immediately felt better when she saw the plushie that you bought her. She liked it that she was ready to go on the roller coaster again if that was the prize...maybe after a few months though.

Chaewon

A big scaredy cat. Saying that she's not a fan of the roller coaster is reductive, she hates them. But you know what? Her crush(you) wanted to have a ride and nobody wanted to do that with you. Being an occasion of being alone with you, she volunteered, omitting her fear. The exact moment the machine started to moved, she was already leaning towards you, but when the discent arrived she was practically hugging you, hiding her head in your neck. When the ride ended, she had big tears rolling down her cheeks. Feeling bad for her, you bought her an ice cream. Your act made immediately stop Chae to cry and she gave you a shy smile. Probably after the ride, you were starting to feel something for her too.

Yunjin

A new mall was opening in town and for the occasion Le Sserafim were called to be the special guest of the inauguration. Being close to your house, you decided to go seeing your girlfriend group stage. You adored the exhibition, but the best part was after the stage: in fact the peculiarity of the mall was the roller coaster inside. So, after disguising herself, she got you and together you had a ride. You two had so much fun, you were such a beautiful couple from the outside, just enjoying a regular date. At the end of the day, she was so tired. You were in the van with her group and her manager, sat next to her. She was nearly asleep, but before napping, she looked at you and said: "I loved riding the roller coaster with you, Y/N...and I love you too".

Kazuha

You were glad that your girlfriend took you with her, going back in Japan. In fact a period free from the promotion, the agency granted her to returning home for a week. In these days she showed you her hometown and the favorite places. One of them was this big amusement park, full of attractions. The most important was for sure the record-breaking roller coaster at center of the park. Being a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, both of you decided to take a ride. Two things really surprised you: the experience itself and the reaction of Kazuha. She in fact rided the coaster like she was nothing special, just giggling and clapping her hands as she was an happy kid. You nearly questioned her mental sanity when she asked you if you were up for a second ride.

Eunchae

Eunchae has a giant crush for you, and that was not a secret for you, but also for her members. So when they asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she said a date with you, you were happy to make her wish true. As location you opted for an amusement park, due to her infinite energy. You visited all types of attractions: the maze, the haunted house, the love boat, ecc. The day was nearly over, but you had still time for a last ride. She practically begged you to go with her on the roller coaster, because you were not an enjoyer of them. However seeing her pout, you gave up. It was a miracle that you didn't puke during the ride. Seeing you in that state, Chae felt a bit guilty, so she sweetly kissed you on the cheek and thanked you for the best birthday ever. Your sacrifice was definitely worth it.

DO I? Probably this blue and pink. If you could take on colors as an identity these would be mine. Also tumblr stop killing the quality of my photos!

I use a lot of whites and creams as a base and tend to blow through those at a significantly faster rate than my other colors. Lots of pastels, which leave my darker jewel tones by the wayside 😞 *whispers* jewel tones I still love yoooou

🐻 What is the cutest thing you have ever created?

That's hard to say. I really love this ice cream snail from furlscrochet. The fact I've held on to him this long speaks volumes since I give most of what I make away.

Also love the things I added to the pattern, like the pink icing, and pistachio scoop in the middle. I feel like the colors worked out really well with him (his name's Scoops by the way, he has a sister called Cereal, on account of her looking like a bowl of Lucky Charms, who now lives with a second cousin).

I also think this turtle girl pattern from ludaorlova_toys is super cute! Definitely one pf my mum's favorites, I don't seem to have any photos of my version so you get one of the originals instead!

I originally started crocheting in the first half of 2018 when we'd just made the move to Macedonia. I was really bored, we were in a tiny town of sixteen thousand people at best, I'd read everything I'd managed to bring with me, and we didn't have all that much wifi. My mum had been crocheting for the last couple of years, and scrolling her pinterest feed I'd see so many cute things that I thought were adorable, that she wasn't too gung ho about making (her speciality is blankets).

So out of sheer boredom, and a great deal of angry stubbornness at my current situation, I managed to push out one very lopsided, very drunk looking bee. It wasn't great, but it was the first step in crocheting the ideas I had in my head. From there I just kept making, when we visited Turkey I discovered Alize's Diva line of yarn – which I love and adore and credit with at least 40% of the success of the final product.

I think it was about two years from when I started that I felt confident enough to try and make my own patterns, and that's when I started working on my dream projects. All the corchet projects I've previously posted have been original designs or dream projects. Right now I'm working on my Yako pattern from Hanako-kun, and I have a half made lavender colored flutter pony that I am absolutely in love with <3

I have a few others in mind, I'd already planned a series of Technoblade inspired projects before the news had come out. I'm still going to do them, it just might take longer than originally planned.

Kirby Super Star Ultra Review

I'm a Kirby noob so let me get that out there first before anybody says that I just don't know what Kirby is. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of Kirby. When I see gameplay, I see the 2D side-scroller and that's about it. I remember the first time I played it and it was the original in the demos of Super Smash Bros. I kept floating and floating and thought to myself "It's almost infinite" I breezed through that entire demo just floating over top of everything, I considered it broken.

There was one game that wasn't entirely 2D however, called "Kirby 64: Legend of the Crystal Shards" and I adore that game (I guess there was Air Ride too but that's a racing game) I thought we'd never see anything like it again…then Forgotten Land was announced and I was like "Okay! Odyssey for Kirby!" I was sold. No. The demo came out and I figured I'd play it before I bought it, demos usually carry over to the real game anyway and it was easy. Like…really easy. I didn't even play on the easy mode, I played on the harder one which apparently has more enemies and less health or something along those lines. No, it was terribly easy. It might've just been that it was a demo but it surely wasn't what I expected out of the game. The environments weren't really explorable or open like Odyssey, just more open than normal. I knew that it'd be short because I experienced so much from that demo alone. I was disappointed because I was really excited. (turns out it ended up being a decent 10-11 hour length). That has nothing to do with this game but just some background to how I ended up buying this anyway.

This thing:

I saw this thing and was in awe. It looks so cool and I heard a certain story tidbit about it and I knew I had to check it out. I could've visited the SNES title because this is technically a remaster/remake but I bought this one to see it all in 3D (cutscenes, not gameplay) plus it seemed like Ultra added more as a whole.

THE GAME:

The first two worlds are not what you should judge this game on because I played those two and they were unreasonably easy much like I felt with the other games but then the third world fixed relatively all the qualms I had with it and from then on. It even added treasures that you can find throughout the map. And it's a stark difference, I actually found myself kind of stuck towards the end.

You can also give a power up to make into your companion, which if I let Kirby go, they would do all of the work in no time but they also have a health bar and it seems more vulnerable than yours (probably because of the AI) but if you face them a certain way after so much time, then I guess Kirby gives them a face sucking or hickey or something because it starts healing them. Just adds to the cuteness points.

Once you finish the game, you unlock Meta Knightmare Mode which is the game but as Meta Knight. It's not really a hard mode but it gave me more initiative to play the game, it's got a different story and such (or at least cutscenes, Stage 4 doesn't make a whole lot of sense though). While I might've preferred different levels, it was a nice addition. It's like a speedrun version with slight modifications here and there where you don't have the copy ability and instead have the sword at all times. The more enemies you defeat, the more points you get and those points can be used to heal/get a companion/increase walk speed/do mega damage.

As far as what you want out of this game, every chapter is different, with its own contained story for most. In fact credits play at the end of most of them. So it matters what you want out of those chapters, some I liked, some not so much. There's also cool minigames to take into account but those are optional so I don't necessarily count them because who buys a game for the minigames? It's a cool little cutesy game and I spent an okay amount of hours on it so I'm satisfied.

Me again. Odd question. Can you recall any instances where you didn’t like a character at first but eventually came to like them? I have two. The first is The Weapon in Halo: Infinite, I was skeptical about her at first when I saw her in the trailer, now she’s one of my favourite characters. She’s adorably awesome. Second is Mesk from ST: Lower Decks, he’s only appeared in one episode, at first I thought he was an arse but now I love him, I hope he comes back. What about you? Do you have any?

I think the biggest example of that for me is Amity from TOH. Initially I really didn't like her but after they started to develop her more in the second half of season 1B she really grew on me. I don't think the transition from her more unlikeable persona before that to her becoming closer to Luz and her friends was very smoothly done in all honesty, but I don't mind because it made her way more likeable and her relationship with Luz is super cute. There's other big ones like Peridot, Steve from Stranger Things and even Wendy from SP surprisingly enough (well with her I went from indifferent to her to loving her), but Amity is probably the biggest one recently.

I feel like his ideal date would be exploring something new, whether its this new spooky forest or "hey have we been down this alley before? Let's check it out!" but ideal date number TWO is movie night. Even if it isn't Star Wars. He likes to sit on opposite ends of the couch throwing popcorn into each other's mouths (and big candies like peanut m&ms where you both have almost choked before) and maybe a footsie war if he's feeling real devious. Then at some point you grab a blanket and snuggle up to him and you both fall asleep on the couch

The Taste of His Cherry Chapstick

Not for the first time, Alex found himself questioning exactly how the rules around ghosts worked. He had been a ghost for quite some time now and he kept thinking that he should really have these things figured out, but being dead was a lot trickier than it seemed. Alex could sit on chairs, but he could also walk right through them; he could change his clothes, but he still hadn’t figured out how his clothes became invisible to lifers just like he was; he didn’t have a body, but he could still get hurt (he had Caleb to thank for cluing him in on that one). He had long ago accepted that the rules of being a ghost would always be hazy and muddled and that sometimes he would just have to get on with it, but every now and then something would happen and it would totally stump him.

Like right now. Willie was putting chapstick on and Alex was simply could not wrap his head around it.

“Why do you need to do that?” he asked Willie, breaking the soft silence between them. They were sat in the studio on the sofa together, Willie with his legs casually crossed over Alex’s lap, lying back as he applied the chapstick.

Willie shrugged easily, popping the cap back on and slipping it into his pocket. (Pockets were another ghost thing Alex didn’t understand and he might have spiralled into that a little more if he hadn’t been so fixated on the chapstick.)

“Stops my lips getting chapped,” Willie said. “It’s kinda in the name.”

“Yeah, I know that,” Alex replied, “but you’re a ghost. Can your lips even get chapped?”

“Yeah, that’s why I bought the chapstick,” Willie explained, meeting Alex’s bewildered look with an amused smirk. “That and the fact that it’s a nice flavour. Do you want to test it?”

Alex shook his head violently. “Absolutely not. I don’t trust it. How can we still use it even when we’re dead? There are some things that should not cross the line between life and the afterlife, and this is one of them.”

Willie giggled. “Alex, it’s literally just chapstick.”

“I know that. I’m not using it.”

Willie rolled his eyes affectionately, but then the amused smirk he’d had on his face morphed into something much more mischievous. Alex knew that look – it meant Willie had got an idea and there was absolutely no way of telling whether or not it was a good one.

“Well,” Willie said slowly, sitting up and shuffling so that he could properly look Alex in the eye, “there’s more than one way you could try it out.”

“How?” Alex asked sceptically.

Willie’s only response was to lean forward, that devilishly cute little smirk still on his face, and press a sweet, chaste kiss to Alex’s lips. It took Alex by surprise and was over before he could even kiss Willie back as Willie pulled away with a soft, self-satisfied smile. Alex, meanwhile, was still struggling to process what had happened. It wasn’t like he and Willie had never kissed before, but the fact that he hadn’t been expecting it combined with how brief it was and how happy Willie looked to have solved the chapstick issue meant that his mind was lagging a little as it tried to catch up. It did not help that Willie was beaming at him, looking effortlessly adorable.

“So?” Willie prompted after Alex had been silently staring at him with his mouth open in shock for almost a minute. “What flavour do you think it is? Do you like it?”

Alex dragged his mind back down from where it had been launched into the heavens. He reminded himself that he was here, with Willie in the studio, that conversations only worked if both people were talking, that staring was rude, and that there had in fact been a point to the kiss. He cleared his throat, trying to school his features back to neutrality but knowing he failed when Willie giggled, and then licked his lips.

“Um… is it cherry?” he guessed. His mind was still a little foggy and more focused on the fact that Willie had kissed him rather than what flavour the chapstick was.

Willie grinned, digging the chapstick out of his pocket again and showing Alex the label on the tube. “Yeah, man! You’re right, great job!”

As Willie settled back into his original position with his legs kicked over Alex’s lap, Alex pushed his momentary panic out of his mind and tried to be normal again. He had thought it would be a one-off, that one kiss and his one guess, and that would be the end of it. But apparently, Willie had other ideas because it just kept happening over and over again.

The second time it happened was in the middle of the night. Willie had got the bright idea of going to the museum at midnight to see all the art and exhibits in the dark. It had turned out to be an amazing idea – the low light gave every painting and sculpture a completely different energy, some more sinister, others infinitely more sad, some seeming so different to how they were during the day that it would have been hard to tell they were the same piece of art at all. Alex followed Willie around the museum with an affectionate smile on his face the whole time, a loving warmth in his chest as he listened to Willie talk about all the art and what it meant and who made it. It was always endearing whenever Willie talked about art; his passion and enthusiasm and the way his face positively lit up was enough to make Alex fall in love a thousand times over.

It was going so well and Alex felt unbelievably lucky that he got to be the one there with Willie. But then Willie stopped talking for a moment and Alex watched him reach into his pocket and pull out his chapstick. He couldn’t help the way his mind wandered to the last time this had happened, when Willie had pressed that one gentle kiss to his lips and backed away. When he saw Willie’s eyes light up, he knew he was thinking of the same thing.

“Want to try?” Willie asked. It was an innocent enough question, but they both heard the implication behind it – Willie was asking for another kiss.

Alex loved kissing Willie, but it still made him nervous every time, mostly because he couldn’t believe someone as incredible as Willie would actually want to kiss him. So momentarily, his nerves caught up with him and he couldn’t reply to Willie, not with words at least. He gave a quick nod before swallowing his nerves and cupping Willie’s jaw to pull him into a kiss.

He made sure this one lasted longer than the other, but it still wasn’t more than a few seconds. Alex tried not to pout when Willie pulled away, but smiled to himself when Willie rested their foreheads together.

“What flavour do you think it was?” Willie asked quietly.

Oh yeah, that was what Alex was meant to be figuring out. Well, he didn’t think he could really be blamed for forgetting that detail when just a moment ago he’d been kissing the love of his afterlife. Again, his mind took a ridiculous amount of time to get past the excitement and giddiness of the kiss and actually focus on the question he’d been asked.

“Is that cola?” he asked after a minute or two.

Willie dropped a feather-light kiss to the tip of Alex’s nose (and Alex was not too proud to admit it made him go slightly weak in the knees) and then pulled back with a smile. “You’re two for two. You’re getting good at this game, hotdog.”

“We’ll have to keep playing so I can get even better,” Alex replied. It might have been smooth if not for the fact that he was blushing so profusely that he could literally feel the heat in his face, and his voice was a little pitchy with a cruel mixture of nerves and the awkwardness that came with not being very good at flirting.

Willie didn’t mention it though. He just smiled softly, squeezed Alex’s hand, and said in a low voice, “Oh, we’re definitely going to keep playing.”

The third time it happened, Alex wasn’t expecting it at all. Half because they weren’t alone, and half because he hadn’t seen Willie put the chapstick on.

Julie and the Phantoms had just wrapped up a gig. Flynn had hired them to play at her birthday party (well, less ‘hired them’ and more the fact that the boys had wanted to give her a birthday present but they were all ghosts which made things like that very difficult, so they and Julie had offered to provide live music at her party instead) and it had gone brilliantly. Not only was the crowd enormous because Flynn had invited practically the whole school – which meant the band would get tons of exposure – but they had clearly been loving the music too. They were easily the best crowd the band had ever played too.

But maybe Alex was biased – he tended to say every crowd was the best crowd just as long as Willie was in it.

Willie and Flynn hadn’t actually met because they were yet to find a way of making Willie visible to lifers, but Flynn had heard enough stories about “Alex’s super cool skateboarder ghost boyfriend” to know that he could be counted as a friend, so he had been invited. As always, Alex had sought him out in the crowd and played like he was only playing to Willie. That was always when he performed his best.

When they finally finished their set and headed into the makeshift backstage area (which was really just Flynn’s bedroom), Alex barely had time to register what was going on as Willie came running into the room, grabbed Alex’s face and pressed a hard kiss to his lips. Alex distantly registered a few cheers from his friends, but he was too distracted to bother telling them off. All that mattered was the fact that Willie was kissing him and it was even more of a rush than the performance had been.

When they finally pulled away, Willie breathed, “You killed it up there! I swear, I’ll never get tired of hearing you guys play. I’m proud of you.”

“If you’re proud of all of us then how come only Alex gets a kiss?” Luke asked. Alex knew that he was joking, but he still bundled Willie up protectively in his arms, ignoring the way that just elicited laughter and ‘awwww’s from his friends.

“You liked it, then?” Alex asked quietly. He knew Willie always loved their performances, but it always felt amazing to hear it.

“I loved it, just like I love you,” Willie whispered back. Alex melted a little. “Did you like it?”

“Like what?” Alex asked. “The performance?”

“No,” Willie said, that sly smirk back on his face. Suddenly Alex realised what was going on, how he’d been caught off-guard. “My chapstick. Did you like the flavour?”

This one was totally unfair. Alex hadn’t know he was supposed to be thinking about the chapstick. He’d been so caught up in Willie that it had been the very last thing on his mind. Briefly, he entertained the idea of kissing Willie again to try and get another taste, but he knew if he did that he probably wouldn’t be able to stop and he wasn’t so keen to do that while his friends were still in the room, even if they weren’t paying attention anymore.

“That’s cheating!” he said. “I didn’t know we were playing.”

“You’ve gotta guess, hotdog,” Willie returned with a laugh, “those are the rules.”

“You never told me there were rules.”

“You never asked.”

“Okay, that’s fair,” he admitted reluctantly. “Was it… I don’t know. Blueberry?”

“Not even close,” Willie said. He pressed another kiss to Alex’s lips and pulled away before Alex could lose himself in it, which was disappointing but probably a good thing.

He tasted it this time, doing his best to focus on it, but it was very difficult with Willie so close and so cute. Still, the proud smile he got from Willie when he finally guessed watermelon made his restraint and effort completely worthwhile.

From then on, he learned to expect it. To look forward to it too. He went shopping with Willie to buy new multipacks of fun flavours (though shopping was another weird thing as a ghost because even though they left money on the counter it felt a lot more like shoplifting) and they continued their guessing game for months and months. But truth be told, it had started to feel less like a game and more just an excuse to kiss each other. It took another month or two for Alex to realise that had probably been Willie’s plan all along anyway – when he asked Willie about it, the laughter he was met with was more than enough answer.

But he wasn’t complaining. He got to kiss his boyfriend all he wanted, and neither of them ever got chapped lips.

More Adaptive Fashion Actually Made by Other Chronically Ill & Disabled Folks, Holy $*@%?!

I am super excited. I will soon have *two* brands of clothing I can wear to the hospital/doctors' appointments that (for my needs) are great for IV/phlebotomy access, exam access, one set is MRI safe (!), and more, all while actually being stylish and not being dehumanising.

I have adaptive everyday clothing from the amazing Rebirth Garments and Wilde Mode which I adore, but I needed something super specialised for exams, IV access, and to be MRI safe. I had been wanting to custom order something for this purpose. The process obviously takes time, and I wasn't really sure what my vision was. I had ideas, but it wasn't cohesive. The search, scrounge is more like it, across the Internet was brutal and lengthy for cute hospital gowns/clothing. Most of it was either for children, pregnant femmes, or folks over 65, all designed by able individuals. Even the few things I found for cancer patients and Autistic people, (I am Autistic and have a condition that shares commonalities with cancer,) were really not usable because they weren't designed by people who personally experienced a disabled or chronically ill body.

Months apart from each other, I found lifelines in two different brands. Each brand was designed by actually chronically ill and/or disabled folks of varying needs. It's interesting to see how which differing access needs were expressed in each line and those that each had in common. It's important to remember that not everything is going to work for every body. It's okay to ask if a brand is willing to consider certain needs in the future, but if it's not something they can reasonably do, maybe there's another work around for you. They are usually really small businesses doing their best, and our bodies come in infinite combinations.

The brands I have purchased them from are Kick It Pajamas and Ivye Wear. I already have the items from Ivye, but I was still on the hunt because I really needed something without metal. I regularly need MRIs, so the zippers are an issue, and I could foresee some medical staff still asking me to change.

KickIt Pajamas had exactly what I was looking for--lovely wrap dresses and pajama sets that are metal-free and elastic free, have access sites, and are super sensory friendly. They even have really useful accessories. (see photos and their website)

Each brand aesthetically helps fill a different gap, both regarding access and gender expression, for me as well which worked out really well accidentally. (I'm nonbinary.)

Once you're over 18 especially, the medical system is dangerous for a disabled and/or chronically ill person. This is exponentially true when you have other intersectional identities. It might sound silly to people who don't have to deal with it daily, but anything you can do to feel a little more human is worth every penny.

Oftentimes, we're treated like nuisances, children, criminals, or even abused and manipulated by doctors, nurses, and other medical staff. milestone follow forever (1/2)

Wow, another milestone reached. This blog has been a huge part of my life for the last 8 months, I’ve met and become friends with so many incredible people who I don’t want to miss ever again. With the help of BTS, this blog and all of you, I rediscovered passion and creativity and found a community that I adore and admire dearly. I am forever grateful for you, so this little (or not so little) follow forever is me saying thank you to all of you, I love you!

Homesick

Fandom: The Legend of Korra

A/N @ultimateswitch19 here's yo awesome request of requestium. SKADOOSH 👌 I really liked doing this- I sjhould write for LOK way more often than I do. There are a few characters I’m super open to write for as well (and wreck >:) <3)

Summary: The girls and Korra find out more about Mako together (Lee! Mako, Ler! Korra + Ikki and Jinora), and the young couple share a rare moment of comfort.

Air Temple Island. A calm retreat that was only traversed by few and home to the descendants of Avatar Aang, where Korra and Mako would be staying at for a couple of days. It was like wandering in an infinite zen garden, home to scenic sights, fauna worth fawning over and most importantly, zero interruptions....

...Except maybe I spoke too soon.

The odd couple’s novelty had caused Tenzin’s young daughters (specifically his youngest, Ikki) to become fascinated with their relationship and therefore, ask questions. Lots of questions-

"Do you two cuddle?"

"Um, about that non-bender girl..."

"Nobody gets in the way of true love!"

"I didn't even get to finish!"

"Any secrets about Korraaaaa?"

"Is it like the books? Not that I would know, books are boring- LOOKING AT YOU, JINORA!"

"Hey!"

"Tch, bookworm."

That only being some of the questions.

Korra crawled into bed with a groggy Mako who, no matter how much he liked the island, he couldn’t seem to be getting any sleep there. A thing only Korra knew was that despite running from Ba Sing Se to become a professional athlete for the Fire Ferrets who, might i add, often went on pro-bending tours, he often felt homesick. Normally he’d be sleeping soundly, but only because he was together with his brother Bolin. Though he loved Korra, Bolin was a small slice of familiarity for him. He was family. 

“Can’t sleep again?” Korra worried, instinctively rubbing his shoulders. Mako only sighed in response. 

“....Well, are you cold? I know that firebenders run hot.” Pause. 

“It’s nothing.” Mako brushed off the concern, looking out into the window, trying to focus on how many sleeping sky-bison there were, not anticipating what cheering-up trick Korra was about to pull. It wasn’t going to work at all. 

“Oh, looks like someone needs a laugh.” Korra glared at her boyfriend with mischevious eyes, pouncing on him, straddling his legs and tickling his ribs in a halfhearted attempt to lighten the mood. “You’re cute like this.” 

“Wait, what-I- Korra-hahaha!!” Mako yelled, swatting her nimble hands away to no avail. Turns out her bending reflexes also applied to something as stupid as tickling. But he’d never want to admit that this was kind of... nice. Korra’s stupid evil grin, her fast fingers and her cocky dominance felt familliar, perhaps from a certain brother... Though it was never that bad. She then reached over to his neck, poking and lightly tapping on it quickly yet methodically. Going down to his shoulders, Korra’s cocky smirk was more evident than ever, her hands slowing- or so Mako thought as they dived into his armpits which slammed shut. He was doomed. 

“AAAAAAAHAHAHA!! I HAHAHTE YOU- YOU’RE EVILPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE- AAAAAH!!” 

“Oh nooooo, I’m trapped!” Korra faux-begged. “Surely I could do something about it...” She kept on wriggling her fingers, her powerfully blunt nails hitting all the right spots under Mako’s arms.

“Who am I kidding- I’m the Avatar, andyougottaDEALWITHIT!” She was automatically sent into a tickling frenzy.”

Mako absolutely lost it. 

“Ahaha, look, your cheeks are all red! Makes me want to laugh....but not as much as you are laughing..” Korra chuckled as Mako was under her, scream-laughing to an oddly adorable degree, drawing the attention of- 

“Aaaawwwwwww!” Ikki chimed. “Anyone who can make Mako laugh must really love him!”

“You two seem to have a lot of trust in each other.” Jinora commented. “I, too have a ton of trust in my dear sister.” She commented, scribbling over Ikki’s side. 

“Eheheheaha! Hey! You know that I don’t trust you at all, right Jinora?” Pouting, Ikki punched Jinora in the arm. “You’re such a bull frog.” 

“Hog monkey.” Jinora muttered, them bickering over the ound of Mako’s uncontrolable laughter. 

“Wait.”

Korra’s voice made the airbending sisters freeze in place. 

“Both of you can join in.” They smiled at each other, nodding.

 “On one condition. Get. Along.” 

Silence- eventually broken by Ikki’s peppy remarks. “Okie dokie! But we want to do this our own way.” 

Korra nodded. “This better be good. Switching her position to the side of their bed, she watched the girls instill their methods on her poor boyfriend. 

PPPPPPPPPPBWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWT- 

Ikki made the first dive, sporadically drilling raspberries into Mako’s stomach, making him flinch upwards. Jinora followed, blowing a much more quiet one in the form of an enhanced kiss. 

Oh spirits, Korra! Make them- NO. ABSO-LUTELY NOT.” Korra leaned in closer, joining Ikki and Jinora in their attack. 

“Move over, girls. Bringing out the big one on three- twoONE!” 

BBBBWWWWWWWPPPPPPPFPFFFFFDDD- 

One raspberry came. Then the other. Then another. Though Korra wasn’t skilled in airbending, her control of the element has sharpened. But she was undeniably better at using it in more Korra-like ways. Typical.

“Tell me this, mister sharky-brows. What’s bugging you?” Jinora asked.

“Nahahahahahnothing! JUST- AHAHAHHA! STOP PT! KORRA, PLEA- SPIRITS, NO!” 

“You think I can’t tell you haven’t been sleeping?” Jinora interrogated. “Make sure he tells the truth, Korra. Why?” 

“BAHAHA- BECAUSE I- OKAY, I’LL TELL! JUST STOP IT!” Mako blurted, sitting up, causing Korra to stop and look on in wonder. 

“I can’t travel without Bo. I-I’m homesick, okay?” 

“Mako... Why didn’t you tell me?” Korra faltered, putting her hand on his shoulder and hugging him. “You need anything after that?” 

“Should we go?” 

“Maybe.”

“I was horrified you’d think I’m weak. You’re the Avatar. A strong elemental force. By now I’d think that would’ve went to your head. And what you and the girls did..... It comforted me a bit. Reminded me of h-” Mako almost wanted to stay more, but he decided to stifle himself at the very last moment.

“Mako. Mako, Mako, Mako. You really think I wouldn’t understand? You’re one of the strongest bender in the world, and besides, I really like you...... and what did you say about it?” Korra hugged her boyfriend, a rare reassuring smile on her face in place of a cocky smirk.

“I said that.... it comforted me, why?” Mako asked.

“Because it wouldn’t hurt to tickle you again, wouldn’t it?”

“Yeah. I-I’d like that.” Mako blushed, looking away.

“Great. Where do I start~”

Well, there were always second thoughts.

Overall Rating: 8.7/10

Personal Opinion: It’s the classic love story of a jock and nerd except the jock also happens to be an Empath and the nerd happens to be depressed. When you can feel everything that the person you love feels, does that make having a relationship harder or easier? You’d have to read to find out. But I can guarantee that you’ll love reading about the way Caleb and Adam pine for each other along the way.

Spoilers Below For My Likes & Dislikes:

Likes:

- I adore the alternating POV and I admit, that is probably because it’s my default writing style, so there’s a bias. I just love seeing both Caleb’s and Adam’s unique perspectives and thoughts to their growing development. To start with, the fact that Caleb is so dense to his own feelings (although they give reasoning for it, he often confuses others feelings for his own due to his ability) was funny and it made me so eager to see him realize that he’s having gay feelings for a boy. Meanwhile, Adam is aware of his own feelings and is constantly having a gay panic every time hot jock Caleb gets too close and again, it is hilarious. The funniest part was when Caitlin was talking about asking out Caleb and Caleb just could not, for the fucking life of him, parse the jealousy oozing out of Adam. 

- The development from near strangers to friends is honestly my favorite thing. Because the two of them actually act like super close friends and their flirting is so cute too. From the moment Adam made that cute playlist for Caleb and Caleb was just on cloud nine while Adam was panicking like “Oh shit, does he think I’m hitting on him? I’m trying to be a good friend! Is this how friends act?” It was new territory for both of them to navigate because they were both loners for their own reasons. Caleb just happened to have his own social circle because of his status as a jock but he was just as clueless as Adam was in navigating their friendship and later, romance.

- Adam helping Caleb choose an outfit for Homecoming was so adorable! And the moment when Caleb fell over Adam and they just stared into each other’s eyes had me squealing and wishing they would kiss! The fact that Caleb had still yet to figure out his own feelings at this point was just wild too. But when he finally did realize he wanted to kiss Adam, at their table no less, I was already so head over heels in love with their relationship.

- You know what really appeals to me about this book though? It completely destroys all the tropes I disliked in other books I’ve read. Their “breakup” isn’t caused by some internalized homophobia (like Be Dazzled). And Caleb doesn’t hook up with Caitlin, instead turning her down immediately while still maintaining friendship with her (instead of fucking making out or having sex with her like in We Contain Multitudes or The Dangerous Art of Blending In). And their fight was caused by real anxieties with actual life or death stakes (unlike in Late To The Party). And even though Adam didn’t want to be some damsel in distress for Caleb, he still acknowledged and also appreciated Caleb’s help when he was being picked on and was aware that things could’ve been worse had Caleb not intervened (unlike in Running With Lions). And the couple is out here communicating when they run into walls! Granted, they stopped doing that for months but Adam is severely anxious and Caleb… well he should’ve texted. Like he said.

- I also love Caitlin. She took rejection from Caleb well and tried to maintain a friendship with him. But best of all, her relationship with Adam is so good. She saw that he was lonely and being the nice person that she is, tried to get him to come out of his shell but not in an abrasive way. She’s just such a chill and cool person and I wish more characters were like her. Also I’m hoping that, from her surname (Park), that she’s Asian. For me personally.

- Fuck Bryce the homophobe and fuck Henry the sleazeball. Both are disgusting in their own right and also fuck Tyler for shitting on people for the qualities they lack. All three are disgusting people and I am so glad that someone (Caleb) stood up to them. And he called them out on their very own insecurities too while advocating for therapy like he’s doing. By the way, love whenever a book will advocate for therapy and all his sessions with Dr. Bright were so pleasant but also many of them were hilarious. Where he would just straight up text Adam while in her session. The way he had no idea Adam was embarrassed of his romantic feelings being so out there this entire time until Dr. Bright (AKA, his common sense filter) told him had me rolling. 

Dislikes: - Something I have to take into account when rating this book is the fact that it’s a multimedia story. There is a podcast called The Bright Sessions made by the author that tells other aspects of the story and centers more on, I assume, the Atypicals and the organization that Adam’s parents work for, the AM. Taking this into account, I am aware that there’s information I am missing that a fan of the podcast would not be while reading this book. That being said, this story stands on its own because it’s not about the Atypical experience but rather the love story between Caleb and Adam. It just so happens that Caleb is an Empath and Adam is depressed. 

- I’m guessing other patients of Dr. Bright like Damian and Chloe are more prevalent in the podcast but I do wish we got to know the latter a little more at least. She’s so sweet and kind. 

- The blank period where they both stopped communicating and thought the worst was honestly so disappointing. They were so good at talking about their issues! When Caleb first showed up to Adam’s house and Caleb kept on blurting things out until Adam got pissed, Adam actually said, “We are acting like assholes again” and they both put it aside to be good friends. To talk! Even if they couldn’t be 100% honest due to personal reasons, they wanted to be as transparent as possible. And they still wanted that but the two of them were being idiots! I just wish Caleb would’ve texted like he said he would. At least they apologized and agreed to date for real again afterward. But I will admit, I’m probably more inclined to let this transgression pass because, in comparison to some of the other couples I read about, this annoyed me the least.

- They never went on a real date and we never quite saw people’s reaction to them dating and that kind of bothered me a lot. Like where is the pay off for all of that slow burn pining? Just for them to fall out like that? Not sure if worth it...
