Working on things but this was a cooldown for myself-
Got a new character over on toyhouse and gave him a bit of an update with a quick sketch color ref, everyone meet Dammon uwu He's a horse demon who's a bit of a jackass and absolutely got his head ripped off at one point and laughed about it while he reattached it to his shoulders. He is a simple man whore who really doesn't give a fuck, and will saunter around the mortal realm without a human disguise.
Hes a cocky, confident menace to society and I adore him.
The running joke in Headspace is that he's Karls fursona (he's actually not but the thought is fucking hilarious)
//I got him (and a few others) from one of the gift posts from users who were giving away designs, and I fell in love with him. I wasn't expecting to actually get him, but here we are~ His update here included muting the colors on the general body as well as taking away a symbol that, while I have no issue with it (I THINK its a Satanist symbol??? I genuinely can't remember), it just... didn't fit the design. It just looked like it was kinda slapped on there so I took it off. 🙃 He does also have an NSFW version but I won't post that for... obvious reasons. He's my big boy and I adore him 💙//

So the only person's writing advice I can really stomach is Ursula Le Guin. Everything she's ever written on writing has spoken to me so clearly, so resolutely. I have read thousands of other books on craft and they always leave me numb. So have this quote:
“What’s the use of a great recipe for soufflé if you’re making blintzes?” she asks. “The important thing is to know what it is you’re making, where your story is going, so that you use only the advice that genuinely helps you get there. The hell with soufflé, stick to your blintzes.”

I never say never to anything, but I also like what I like. I'm unlikely to do first or second person in fanfiction, though I use both in original work. I'm unlikely to write to trope, even though I will often use them in my work. I don't write to genre expectations, but I definitely have written through the lens of horror and romance.
40. If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
God, anything! What an incredible honour that would be! I had a few artists sketch an old character of mine that was particularly popular in the Dragon Age fandom, but I've never had a scene depicted before. I would be thrilled with literally anything. I suppose right now anything from The First Leaf on the Tree After Winter would be special because there's just not enough Jaheira/Halsin in the world, or equally something Ketheric related from Blood and Bone, Bone and Blood. But yeah. To see Glim or Manva anywhere would make my life.
63. Something you hate to see in smut.
I am such a hater, given that I KNOW how difficult smut is to write but. When characters turn into completely different people during smut. I get that people can be different in sexual situations to their everyday persona but often it feels like it's just a generic sex template people are slotted into. Magical dick making multiple orgasms happen with no cooldown. Also the word pussy can really shove me out in certain situations, especially fantasy settings. There's so many good words. Just call it a cunt!
63. Something you love to see in smut.
Less penetration, honestly. Like it's fine but there's a lot to be said for a good fingering fic. Also people talking through it like. I'm a very aural person and I love a good line of somebody expressing what they're going to do to somebody and the other person losing their fucking MIND. That's good food.

You don't have to read this if you don't want to. This is my rant and criticism space, it's really more for me. Thanks 7 years of conditioned behavior.
I considered this piece abandoned a few months ago. Just as I was starting the first pass of shading I saw a massive error. I'm pretty vigilant with my layers, keeping copies in case I need to go back and fix something, but I thought I was all done and dusted. Ready for the next stage. So I had no backups. At this point I'm too far in to easily fix it without making a huge mess and it was a massive motivation killer. I couldn't stop thinking about it and I didn't want to continue, so I left it.
Months later I came back, the work I hadn't finished was perfectly fine, I thought it looked good. I decided that I was going to finish the piece even if it killed me even with the mistakes. It happens to all of us. And man I am so happy I continued.
I could've kept going on it to be honest, but I had to put a stop somewhere. There are problems, things I wish I had or hadn't done, but for what it is I'm damn pleased with myself. So I'd say it was a success :)
The last 45 minutes were spent on the background (look too close and I'll kill you). There wasn't even going to be one before then. Glad I stuck out the extra time even though I was fucking exhausted and ready to have my hand completely crushed by a large object.
Around 75% of the way done I notice that my auto-saves are causing my laptop to freeze. I know hefty files can do this but it's only a full body drawing, not what I'd consider hefty. Well it turns out that past me thought so highly of this piece, before it was even a sketch, to have it be in 4K RESOLUTION. That shit is crisp as hell, drink in all that clear detail, so long as Tumblr doesn't nuke it from orbit. (Future me here to say that yep, it got nuked. Guess I'll be the only one who gets to see it in high def, just what I wanted lmao 😒)
It sucks even more because I'm noticing the lack of clarity on another piece I'm doing, but I 1. don't need 4K quality and 2. my laptop can't take that level of a beating every time CSP auto-saves. Yeah I could turn off auto-saves but that feels like just asking for trouble.
Also yeah, I'm doing one for Hebe. It won't be as detailed as this piece because, unfortunately, that ability is on cooldown. Doesn't mean I won't try my hardest regardless, I just fear what might happen to me if I try that again too soon. I don't want another 3 month long shutdown. (As I write this I'm literally at the same point in her piece as I was with this one just before I gave up, lol)

Week 1 - Initial ideas
Week 1 was somewhat uneventful in the manner that I wasn’t working on any prototype just yet, instead trying to brainstorm ideas for one. It felt unproductive, but I had to start somewhere, and that was whittling down the ideas I had come up with during the lecture. We were given a few chances to discuss our initial ideas and concepts with the people around us, based on what was feasible for creating within GDevelop (the engine used to make our prototypes for this unit).
Oftentimes I find conceptualising ideas to be the hardest part of game design; while I always feel like my head is brimming with ideas, writing them down is where I struggle. That process is never helped whenever there's a limit as to what we can create, which has happened in previous school assignments. Thankfully, this assignment has a lot more room for creativity as we aren't bounded by a specific prompt or concept, instead just making a prototype for a simple platformer game. Easy enough, right?
Conceptualising ideas:

"Another key component to playcentric design is that ideas should be prototyped and playtested early. I encourage designers to construct a playable version of their idea immediately after brainstorming ideas. By this I mean a physical prototype of the core game mechanics" (Fullerton, 2018, p. 12).
Tracy Fullerton, the author of Game Design Workshop : A Playcentric Approach to Creating Innovative Games, Fourth Edition, often repeats the importance of iterative design, and conceptualising ideas to test out in a prototype, receive feedback and change as needed, which is especially important when starting out so you don’t end up polishing a feature that players receive with more negative feedback than positive.
Even something like talking with others about something as simple as a game concept gave me enough feedback to iterate these ideas, and I was able to choose one of them to move forward with.
I then moved on to character design, making sure it was something viable to create using pixel art - I had to consider outfit complexity and readability, and make sure my character looked good (and recognisable) in all animal forms. For now, I started with the character in her tiger form, which ended up being a half-tiger half-human monk.
Physical prototypes:
"A physical prototype of a first-person shooter can help you understand the larger tactical and strategic issues of weapon balance, territorial control, etc., but it won’t help you to understand the fluid process of running, aiming, and shooting in a 3D environment" (Fullerton, 2018, p. 209).
Fullerton also mentions using a physical prototype to playtest your game, however this technique was found to be more beneficial for board games. Games like platformers or FPS (First-Person Shooters) that require player movement would not be simulated nearly as well . I still attempted to draw a quick sketch of what a potential layout could look like, but also to consider UI especially that could incorporate all the planned features I had for the game.

Refining initial idea:
After I had everything decided, I spent a bit longer on trying to refine that initial idea I came up with to figure out what my plan was for prototyping. I got a few notes down for player movement and how the shapeshifting mechanic would work.
Creatures are loosely based on the Chinese zodiac animals (sea snake instead of snake in order to have a swimming ability)
White tiger instead of orange?
Snake is a banded sea krait
Player can only transform into one of these at a time
Slight cooldown on ability change, or maybe animation delay so it’s not instant
Condition for the latter: player will need to be still for the change to occur (just so they don’t fall mid-air while gliding etc)
Remove dragon, snake and rat if time doesn’t allow

Of Inverted Hearts and Goodbyes
kinda angsty...First time posting a fic here -- Please be gentle
The Avatar of Lust begged you with all his heart, something he've never done before --even when his Father punished him, Lilith and his brothers from the heavens.
Of course, he knew he won't ever be the jewel of your eyes. There was Lucifer who was always dependable, Mammon who was always protective, or Levi who you get along with. He's not as witty as Satan, not as sweet as Beelzebub or as honest as Belphie. Perhaps Simeon was right all along. He didn't want to admit it, but the angel's questions have break something in him.
He have always upheld himself as the most charming prince of hell, tempting right and left for millenias. Body open for everyone, heart closed to hide his insecurities. "Of course, you like me, I'm the most beautiful"-- a mantra he says as he sits on his vanity mirror. Funny, right? Vanitas should be close to Superbia but it felt like he should also claim that (it's not fair that Lucifer already has everything, he'd thought). He knew he acted and sounded shallow but beneath beauty and charms, what was he?
Father always told him how he lusted too much for something he could never have. "Nothing's enough with that frozen heart of yours. Love doesn't exist in you."
Asmodeus the angel tried to be the perfect child for him. Jewel of the heavens, they called him. Asmodeus the demon dragged the title with him when he fell and used it to his advantage to corrupt souls.
And then you came. The human exchange student was like a cute little pet. The pitiful being left in his scumbag brother's hands. He didn't understand why Solomon seemed interested with you.
When you pulled that incredible power, he've felt something sparked inside him. Unlocked power. He lusted for that since the beginning.
But when you both made a pact, another feeling stirred inside him. Something that grew as the two of you spend time together. Time that was scarce with how his brothers hoard your time. He was forced with make-up sessions, shopping, and helping you to prepare a date for someone who's not him. Pick-up lines and innuendos across the dining table you only smile politely at. Beel had once stopped munching to stare at the cupcakes Asmo have shoved in his mouth angrily, Satan and Lucifer snorting beside him. You were horsing around with Mammon, Belphie and Levi that time. He felt the six minor sins and his major sin screaming at him.
He wasn't lusting after your body or soul anymore (shame on him, he wouldn't admit that as avatar of lust). He yearned for the things he had deemed shallow than sex. Your laughter, your touch. Your love.
"You seem...more subdued," Solomon once remarked, as he stirred something with a funny smell in his cauldron. "I wonder if it's only power that MC drew out of you. Interesting."
"Shut up, Solomon." He crossed out the outfit he was doodling on the sketchbook (a gift from the sorcerer after erasing Asmo's drawings on his notes for the umpteenth time). It doesn't suit their eyes...
"Hmm. You've fallen? Finally." Solomon smirked. "Pun intended."
Asmo rolled his eyes. "I don't want to hear that from someone who have countless wives and lovers."
"You all grew up so fast," Solomon had sniffed. As fake as Satan's smile. Asmo threw a paper ball at the sorcerer, at which it fell in the stinky concoction. A bubble rose and screamed curses at them before Solomon popped it with his ladle. "Jokes aside, I wish you luck."
He wished for your attention to be directed at him. He labored himself every night to be the most attractive in your eyes. Dreamy sighs as he watched you clap your hands excitedly at what Lord Diavolo said. Shouldering through the twins to walk with you across the hallways. Trying to placate Lucifer's irritation when you get in trouble. Perking up when you call his name. Asmo, Asmo, Asmo-- the sound of your voice playing in his head as he giggled on his bed, hugging a pillow. He had felt greed on wanting you alone for himself. You won't choose him solely (surely, right?) , so he have dropped multiple times he's willing to share. Even just that...
But alas, all you see in him was a playboy out to get your heart.
If his brothers hear his lowly thoughts, they'll mock him. Somewhere in Diavolo's castle, Helene must be laughing.
Belphie moaned that he didn't have time with you enough but Asmo's sure his meter (like one of those weird games Levi plays) was higher than him. You'll left tomorrow and he's still in a slow pace, or perhaps even at a standstill.
The lights in the pub casted a soft glow around you. He hiccupped. He shouldn't have drank too much.
He held your hands. They're warm like you. And he felt like he was going to lose it, succumb to that neverending unsatisfaction again without you.
"Don't leave," he repeated, the tears rolling down his cheeks. He hiccuped again. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he wished that you won't mistaken that as silly drunken words. He sounded desperate. He didn't care.
You smiled. He stared, imprinting it in his mind. "Thank you," you said. You moved to hug him. "But I have to go. Lord Diavolo said the exchange program is over. The Celestial Realm is watching. I'm not allowed to stay even if I wanted to..." Your voice shook with emotion. He wrapped his arms around you. He still had questions, and you didn't answer his confession (or perhaps you rejected him already in your gentle way?), but your comfort come first.
It struck him that this might be the last the two of you will have the chance to be with each other.
He spotted golden hair outside the pub. So he clung desperately on you. Just a little more.
A little more time, he thought, before Satan reach the corner from where the two of you sat.

"Oh? I haven't had to think about questions like that for a long time now so please do excuse me if I require a little assistance on the matter." Yami said quietly. "This is going to be a long post, I hope you don't mind."
This is a really,,, REALLY long post so for your sanity, I've put Yami's answers under the cut.
POV you're about to read a little over 1700 word response to an ask.
"My abilities? Oh, well." Yami put his fingers to his chest, sweating. "I'm an assist type, so I excel with helping others. I can use my ghosts to boost the movement speeds of other survivors for a short amount of time, as well as have my ghosts assist with decoding." Yami held out his hand. "Of course, the more people that get eliminated in a match, the more useful the ghosts can be. I have 4 ghosts that come into a match with me. The more people that get eliminated, the more ghosts can haunt a different survivor. They can move faster, or they can help decode faster. Depending on the survivor and their situation depends on the usefulness of the buffs. When they're decoding, they get an increased decoding buff. When the hunter is chasing them, they get the increased movement speed buff. If they get caught while they're decoding with the decoding buff... they won't get a movement speed buff. After that, the ghosts have a 30-second cooldown." He tried his best to explain his abilities in a match. "It's much simpler to see the ghosts in action than it is for me to explain it..."

"My costumes? Well, I have the original notes for my 2 A tiers costumes, and my original S tier costume. I also know a friend of mine, Angel Drew, is creating an S tier named Chrysanthemum for his new flower-themed essence. I've seen the design for Chrysanthemum and I must say, it looks very pretty!" Yami smiled fondly as he spoke. "I also have the original lore behind the first three costumes. As for Chrysanthemum, I'm not sure what the lore behind that skin is." Yami placed his hand on his hip as he thought for a moment. "I'd have to ask Angel about it sometime..." He muttered quietly. "So I can only really provide information for the first three." Yami disappeared off-screen for but a moment, re-emerging with a small box filled with many papers. "Here." Yami spread out the papers, clipping the corresponding essences together for your convenience.
"My S tier was a costume that never really came to be, since the person who had designed it, Tomie Williams, was let go in the middle of producing the essence. As a result, the 2nd essence of Season 10 never happened. The Prisoner ended up taking the slot for essence 2 instead." Yami explained. "It was supposed to be a winter-themed essence. A new designer ended up reusing the theme for a different essence down the line, but none of the original A tiers or the original S tier were ever made. The old S tier was called Frozen Heart, and the original A tiers were Snowflake for Miss Margaretha and Snowfall for Little Robbie." Yami rubbed his head a bit. "I had some sketches of all the original designs in here somewhere... I don't know if you'd care to see them though." Yami fumbled through the numerous pages on his desk before pulling out a small piece of paper. "Here we go. Uhm, from what I remember about the design process of the skin... Tomie had me choose a theme. So, to oppose the hotter desert theme of the ongoing essence at the time, we chose a winter-themed essence. The S tier of the essence was a young, delicate boy. He had white freckles all over his face and short light blue hair. Out in the winter hills, he lived alone, confined by heavy snowstorms and the intense sandstorms and deadly heat of the neighboring country. So he's stuck in the cold surrounding atmosphere. There's a lot of world-building in the script but I'll skip over all that." He hummed gently. "In the trailer, the ending actually has a voiceover from Desolate Sand." Yami was quiet as he frowned a bit. "Our S tiers are supposed to be friends, you know?" Yami seemed bitter as he gathered the papers together, clipping them all together and tossing them back into the box, leaving his thoughts unfinished.
"Let's see... ah yes, Ghost Boy. It's my first A-tier and my personal favorite. It was part of Season 13." Yami hummed gently. "It was run alongside the 2nd essence of the season. Even though my skin is called Ghost Boy, the essence is actually known as the Art Essence. The S tier of the essence belongs to the Animator, Ruth Valden. It shares the same name as their title, Animator. Ghost Boy is one of the A Tiers of the essence. The other A tier is called Art Collector, and it belongs to The Ripper. There's an additional A tier that they sold in the store for a limited amount of time named Art Critic for the Painter as well." He put his hand to his chin, shaking his head. "And basically, the story behind the Art Essence is basically, a popular animator tries various things to bring inspiration to the world around him but fails multiple times. One day he draws up a set of sketches of a character he planned to use for an animation, a ghost boy. While working, he wonders what he could give to bring his creation to life. And so the Animator spends days working on this animation when he runs into one of the A tiers from a previous Halloween event. I think it was Spector? The one for the Postman. Spector offers to bring Ghost Boy to life, and while at first Animator denies, he ends up caving in due to curiosity. Meanwhile, the Art Collector is lurking, looking for new rare pieces of art to collect. And what is rarer than a living animation?" Yami explained the storyline to the best of his abilities. Interesting to note, the "Ghost Boy" leaned into a more animated cartoony style. "There is a whole backstory for Ghost Boy in the animation as well, where he opens a portal to the ghost realm, flooding their world with spirits, good and bad alike. Unfortunately... Spector had THAT carry over when he brought Ghost Boy to life too..."
"My second A tier is part of one of the most recent essence." Yami was quiet for a moment. "Ran side by side with essence 3 of season 18. The S tier of this essence was for The Child, Arbor, and it was called Sunshine. My A tier was called Found. The other A tier was called Beauty, for the Geisha." He seemed unsure for a moment. "I think it's called Beauty anyways..." He shook his head in response. "Basically, the closet Hidden opens leads to another world, where this essence takes place. The Source of Evil has a key that opens this door, one Hidden stole from her. On the door is that essence's opposites. SoE opposes Sunshine, Hidden opposes Found, Horrendous opposes Beauty. I can't give away too much of the lore of this essence because Mod Ghost said she might make that essence's storyline into an event." He shrugged a bit.

"My friends? I don't really have any friends if I'm honest, besides Angel and maybe Miss Woods. Everyone here is just kind of, intimidating." Yami rubbed his arm nervously. "I know I should be more open to the others. I can't even begin to tell you about the number of letters Victor's sent me trying to be my friend. I open them and I read them and I want to be his friend but every time I think about it... I freeze up. And I chicken out. I can't help it. Of course, I also have some letters from Andrew that I... am too afraid to read. Why read letters from someone who's told you that they hate you anyway..." Yami facepalmed a bit, looking down as the ghost that usually chilled on his hat got off his hat, floating across the desk, pushing a sealed envelope towards Yami. They picked it up, dropping the letter in Yami's hands. "I already told you Tomie. I'm not opening the letter. You know how I get around Andrew... being faced with him in letter form isn't going to be any different." Yami threw the letter into the trash can at his bedside.

Yami's full title is "The Funeral Parlor Director" but we all call him the Funeral boy.
If you couldn't tell, Yami and Andrew have a rough relationship due to some incredibly bad timing and frustrated Andrew moments. Yami has the impression Andrew doesn't like him, which isn't ACTUALLY true. Andrew's been trying to apologize to Yami for a very, very long time now. But Yami's deathly afraid of him.
Frozen Heart's Creator, Tomie, and the ghost on Yami's hat, Tomie, are two different Tomies.
Yami's 6'6ft. He's pretty tall.
His birthday is January 1st.
The flower on Yami's hat is supposed to be a Red Dahlia. While they are a known symbol of both strength and power, in this specific case, they represent betrayal and dishonesty.
Everyone has their set few characters they do matches with. For example, Victor and Tracy usually get paired together for matches, Mike, Margie, and Demi get paired together, Patricia and Fiona get paired together a lot. Yami tends to get paired with Helena and Naib for a lot of his matches. He also gets paired up with Victor and Andrew quite a lot, funnily enough.
Yami has quite a soft spot for the stars. So when he got an anonymous gift with an A-tier accessory themed after the moon and stars... he was a pretty happy funeral boy. Now if he READ THE MASs OF LETTERS HE WOulD KNOW WHO SenT IT TO HIM-
Yami's the oldest of 2 siblings. He has a little sister named Amy. She likes rabbits :D

So, can you riddle me why the person, who was outed as a homophobe and a racist in tdc fandom, not only received sketches from you recently, but also called you a friend?
Oh hey it’s you again. I thought you apologized in your last ask but I guess not. Not too many people are gonna like that. And congrats! Because you didn’t have the courage to talk to me like a normal person after I literally cried and begged to you, anon is getting turned off for everyone. If we’re not gonna settle this like gentlemen, don’t even contact me at all. What is there to gain? I have literally nothing to offer you.      But to answer your question, be more specific. I’ve drawn for a lot of people and I’m not gonna know everyone’s story. I used to Idolize many people in this fandom, some you probably know and adore yourself. There was someone who cheated on his S/O multiple times and stole “special” designs from a good ol’ buddy of mine. There’s someone who tried to force my friend into a polygamous relationship with said person, there’s a few people who disapprove of my best friend’s current relationship with his boyfriend, (Two of which I wanted to be like when I grew more talented) And a certain person you may or may not know who condones and fetishizes child exploitation in their art and fics. With a rather large following at that. Lesson here today is: Never Meet Your Heroes.       If you’re talking about that one oc lady, I’d consider her an acquaintance. And although she has some issues, she’s at least trying to make an effort at improving. Am I justifying her actions? Absolutely not. She’s done some things to make me absolutely uncomfortable, and she said something to a close friend of mine that in all honesty I’m still not over. Basically they bought a bunch of starmews and then right away sold one they had bought for 600 and resold it for 1k. After that we put down a one week cooldown for them to prevent stuff like that from happening

Then they literally asked if they could be a CO OWNER for the species (keep in mind they having really contributed to it, they weren’t a helper or even a ga and out of the blue they ask if they can own the species too :/ I said I’m not looking for co owners. They asked if they could be a partner but I offered that they could help out with the discord but yeah they were asking to asking if they could do own the species

More Granblue AU! Heeeeere’s Cap’n Reiji!!!
Occasionally you’ll hear word in the skies of a fearsome captain. He’s stocked his crew with the toughest, deadliest mercenaries this side of the Grim Basin, and his heart has grown cunning and cold after losing his precious first mate to a bloody conflict. To cross blows with him is to court death -- not a soul can penetrate his earthen barriers and unpredictable strategies, and the last thing his foes hear before succumbing is a haunting death rattle.   These are, of course, just wild rumors. Not that anyone would believe this goofy, floppy-eared Erune could be such a terrifying force to begin with! Reiji is the charming captain of the airship Quartet Night, traveling the skies to spread good will with various do-good jobs and music performance. He’s notorious for taking on crewmembers who were on their bottom dollar before joining, and while he tends to not get the respect a captain should, his crew at least understands that they couldn’t have asked for a better leader. Despite being well-regarded in every corner of the sky he’s travelled, there’s still an evident sadness that chases him and an end goal it shrouds. Nobody can seem to find record of his skyfaring prior to the Quartet Night, and he runs his ship too well for it to be his first. Perhaps there *is* some substance to the rumors of the man with the battle maracas...no, that’s just too silly.
Once again, skills, design talk, and another sketch behind the cut! (Plus some Actual Ideas about his backstory instead of this dramatic fluff, lol.)

Reiji started out as a Draph (with big horns and cute cow ears!) but the dissonance between him and Granblue’s standard massive Draph build was just too much. Human or halfling didn’t feel quite right, either, and I was hesitant to also make him an Erune when Ranmaru’s also one...but once I gave him the floppy ears it really started to suit him!  He also didn’t look very captain-y until I gave him the tricorn (which has earholes, i promise), and from there the whole design changed around it. I’m pleased with the very piratey but still vaguely-in-charge look to him now, though absolutely the maracas holsters are my favorite part, lolllll.
As for his Actual Backstory? I’m not the type to stray toooooo far off of canon when it’s AU time, so it’s maybe not as dramatic as my description warrants, lol. Like the description suggests, Aine was once Reiji’s first mate (and bc I love Sad Reiji Bullshit, they were also def engaged) -- I imagine that they were the bread and butter of one anothers’ first crews and the joy they found in combining skyfaring with musical performance. Aine was starting to lose that joy, though, especially between him and Reiji not being super choosy with their clientele and wondering if they’re accomplices in some shady dealings...something like goods they transported being used in an invasion and the like. While the rumor mill has it that Aine died in a glorious battle or whatever, he really just disappeared without a word when the guilt reached its peak. Reiji’s forever guilting himself for not picking better jobs, being able to protect Aine from his feelings, etc., and he’s become SUPER conscientious and doting for it. He and Ranmaru mercilessly mom the whole ship in completely different ways, lol, and Reiji’s very particular about what odd jobs the QN takes on. They’re gonna do good, damn it, and NOBODY on the crew’s going to feel bad about the work they do!!
As for how the rumour mill got to where it was or Reiji’s true end goal? I’ll leave it up to y’all to ponder on that for now. >:)

A quiet inkling in the back of my mind today before work told me that maybe I should post my “playable Nerubian” sketches from 2010-2011. They’re not particularly great, and I detest the female design now, though I suppose it’s in-line with Blizzard’s usual handling of things like that.
I also had a write-up that I made even earlier, as well, but reading it now just makes me cringe.
...I’m including it anyway.
Faction Title: Azjol-anak? Racial Leader: Kilix the Unraveler? Home City: ??? (Faction-dependent)
This would only be an option after the Lich King is defeated, and seeing how that is imminent, it makes this at least partially possible. Faction siding is up in the air, though. On a personal and selfish note, I would group them with the Horde, probably through Sylvannas and the Forsaken, whom, like the Nerubians, were directly victimized by the Lich King and the Scourge. Additionally, their monstrous nature is likely to be somewhat more accepted by the Horde (arguably, the Alliance welcomes the Worgen in Cataclysm, but Worgen are just humans with an unfortunate shapeshifting condition, as opposed to the straight-up beastly nature of Nerubians). However, Brann Bronzebeard appears to have a decent amount of diplomacy with the Nerubians of the Sundered Monolith, leaning towards them joining the Alliance (though Brann himself seems to be slightly more neutral than straight-up Alliance, especially in Wrath of the Lich King, where knowledge is more important than who helps him obtain it, as implied by instances such as Halls of Stone). It could go either way, and would probably depend on what race is introduced opposite of them.
What exactly these 'playable' Nerubians -are- is also questionable. Either they are a secretive caste that had remained hidden for all these years, or the few remaining living Nerubians used magic and science to combine their blood into that of more humanoid races in an effort to bring forth a new, stronger caste with the hope of using such a caste to regain the race's foothold in the war-torn world.
In my head, I see them as quite different. Unlike the typical six-legged-two-armed nerubians, four-legged-four-armed 'priest' nerubians, or four-legged-two-armed winged Crypt Lords, these 'playable' Nerubians are humanoid in build, with two legs and two arms, as well as a pair of seemingly useless 'vestigal' arms with two claws sticking out from the sides of their torsos just under their ribcages. They also have a pair of longer 'arms' sticking out of their backs like wings, armed with a single large claw. Most clothing or armor does not accomodate the extra limbs, and holes need to be cut into them. Both pairs of arms are usually tucked close to the body, because they're usually left unarmored, and therefore vulnerable (despite carapace).
In general, males are more beetle-like and heavyset, while the females are much more slender and spiderlike. The most defining male facial feature is their single facial horn, while the defining facial feature of females are mandibles.
Modifiable features are probably: Carapace color (essentially skincolor, though may only extend to their armored portions: anything unarmored would probably be black or dark gray) Hair style (A mainly variations and stylings of "unruly mess of quills", but also makes egyptian-style headdresses available as 'hair' with varying stripe patterns) Hair/headdress color (Hair tends to be subdued, darker colors, headdresses are bright) Face Type (Generally denotes layout of eyes, but also the presence or lack of mandibles or horns) Spikes (Chooses the style of their claws, as well as mandibles or horns (if present).
Without class bonuses, Nerubian base stats could be: Higher than average Spirit (22?) Higher than average Agility (22?) Average Intelligence (20?) Lower than average Strength (18?) Lower than average Stamina (18?)
Racial abilities that come to mind include (not ALL, obviously, just brainstorming):
Enhanced Unarmed - Moderate additional damage (scaled with level) when attacking unarmed, as they additionally strike with the limbs on their backs as well as their hands. (Passive)
(PERHAPS) Natural Armor - The natural carapace of a Nerubian gives them an additional 1% (2%?) armor contribution from items. (Passive)
Silk Weaving - Being mostly arachnoid in nature, leaning towards spiderlike, nerubians have an innate skill with silk and webbing. Therefore, they have a +5 tailoring bonus. (Passive)
Shadow Proficiency - Long-time practitioners of dark magic, Nerubian's chance to hit with Shadow spells is increased. (Passive)
Sticky Web - A racial rooting ability that can trap fleeing opponents. (2 min cooldown)
Filament Floatation - Constructs a 'parachute' of silk webbing to slow falling speed for 20 seconds. (1 (2?) minute cooldown)
Available classes: Hunter? Rogue Warrior Mage Priest Warlock Death Knight
Racial Mount: Anaki Tank - A large beetle, modified over years to be more streamlined and to run on only four legs (it carries its extra two vestigal limbs close to its body between its front and hind legs). Its head is similar to that of crypt-lords (or male playable Nerubians), with a large, single horn that helps their riders charge down foes. Their hunched, molded pronotum supports a decorative yet comfortable saddle with a horn. The pronotum on the Battletanks also has large spines raking forward from the front, reminiscent of tough slightly less pronounced than on an Atlas Beetle. At the apprentice level, the tanks' natural armor is left plain and unadorned. Battletanks are embellished with colored, jeweled trim. -Colors- *Apprentice: Brown Anaki Tank, Gray Anaki Tank, Beige Anaki Tank *Journeyman: Blue Anaki Battletank (silver trim), Green Anaki Battletank (gold trim), Yellow Anaki Battletank (black trim) *PvP: Black Anaki Battletank (gold trim) *Argent Tournament 5-mark: Royal Anaki Battletank (purple, gold trim) *Argent Tournament 100-mark: Azjol-anak Battletank (red, gold trim)
-==Gender Specifics==- Both have normal laughs, as well as a "Kekeke" laugh. Because the Nerubian language seems to accommodate it so well.
Knowing little to nothing about Nerubian aside sounds, I won't bother to make things up. Anything in Nerubian will be notated with an [N] and left to later interpretation, with [C] being relapses back into Common. Some vocals not covered because I can't think of anything 'original.'

Only, there was a problem. When a player adopted democracy in Civilization, their aggression would be automatically reduced by 2. Code being code, if Gandhi went democratic his aggression wouldn't go to 1, it looped back around to the ludicrously high figure of 255, making him as aggressive as a civilization could possibly be.. She proceeds to drop a bunch health packs on the ground lol. I facepalmed and felt sorry for using her healthpacks. Gave me a good laugh though.Edit: no, it wasn on cooldown. It is always a good idea to do a bit of pre trip research before travelling, especially if you want to get into some photography action. I was watching Andrea Matillano's recent lipstick declutter last night, and no shade to her. I really like her videos and she at least makes a effort to project pan and get rid of things she doesn't use, but she had easily 200 liquid lipsticks. She made a big pile of ones that were expired that she would just go online and reorder. I tried the pen again and he learned to escape it, so I got rid of it and just had him completely free roaming in my room. He destroyed my carpet (losing me probably most of a 750 deposit) and declared my bed his toilet. I would wake up in the night lying in rabbit piss. Spreading wild bird poop on the ground to use as fertilizer is one thing, but gathering it to put on your face is another. You might imagine people tracking nightingales and running around to scrape the poop off various surfaces, but there's a very specific process that goes into making bird poop into an ingredient. There are nightingale farms in Japan that exist solely for the purpose of harvesting the poop. If you fancy your Bard with a bit more bada boom, investigate Duke Ellington's masterful homage, originally written for the Shakespeare festival in Stratford, Ontario in 1956. Composed in close collaboration with arranger Billy Strayhorn and saxophonist Johnny Hodges, Such Sweet Thunder the title comes from A Midsummer Night's Dream distills some favourite characters into a series of sassy musical sketches, among them a bittersweet plucked bass solo for Othello (Sonnet in Search of a Moor) and a finger snapping, crazily chromatic homage to Hamlet (Madness in Great Ones). 🧡Positive things🧡 about the 👻 Halloween Banner 👻:
All the units have their own color! This makes it easier for people who want to snipe or avoid certain units.
All the units are perfectly viable with little effort!
A banner of firsts! Not only is this banner full of seasonal firsts for these characters (aside from one character) but they also are firsts for their specific units! Ex: Myrrh is the first red armored dragon, Mia is the first flying staff user, etc.
This year's Halloween units features the return of cute Halloween cookies in their special attack art!
New Halloween costumes! The only characters with similar costumes from last year are Mia and Nowi with the witch theme. (We will get to this is in Mia's specifics)

🎃Moonlit Witch Mia🎃
As stated earlier, Mia is the only unit that shares a costume theme with a previous Halloween unit. However, despite sharing a theme, she and Nowi have unique spins on the idea! Nowi is more frilly and purple and Mia has a pumpkin theme with orange!
As stated earlier, she is the first flying cleric! She even comes with 'Hone fliers'!
In the paralouge, she is incredibly sweet with Myrrh. Offering to team up with her just so that the child like dragon wouldn't be alone.
She, Myrrh, and Niles are also readily help Marth in the Tempest Trials. (With Mia pushing Dorcas to help as well)
Her Witchy Wand+ can be refined with the ever loved Wrathful or Dazzling Staff skills!
Her Witchy Wand+ can also reset the Special cooldown of multiple enemies!
Mia is here and ready to party! Her enthusiasm for the Harvest Festival is contagious!
She acknowledges that she'll probably always will get sexist comments about being a female merc but Mia is quick to point out that festivals are for everyone to have fun, regardless of age or gender, and encourages the player to join in as well!

Upon her release, this variant of Kagero produces quite the collection of harmless drunk Kagero jokes!
She is the first armored green dagger unit! Fitting as her other seasonal was the first flying dagger unit.
The first unit to wear a maid outfit despite it not being her base class.
Despite there being two other maid units, Kagero's outfit is slightly different with the skirt being more form fitting.
Her new weapon, Bottled 'Juice'+, also inflicts a Special cooldown charge on foes!
The fact that her weapon is called 'Juice' despite appearing like champagne or even wine is pretty funny as Intsys tends to bend over backwards to censor or discourage alchohol consumption.
Despite not being hilariously drunk as the memes say, Kagero's dead pan seriousness is it's own brand of funny!
Her dialogue references traditional Asian sweets like dango and rice crackers and how the Conquest Maid class are essentially just Nohrian ninjas in many ways!

😈Forbidden Tease Niles😈
Niles is the first Halloween unit to have a devil inspired costume and, goodness, does it suit him!
He is also the first blue armored archer and the second armored archer in general! (The first being Hallowee Jakob from last year)
The Niles variant comes with 'Fortify Armor'! (Useful for Armor Emblem users;3)
Niles is super fun as a Halloween devil! His dirty flirty humor is played up to the max in the seasonal! Super in character!
Speaking of his flirty nature, he does have a line that is a bit of a reference to his bisexuality (specifically mlm): "A trick...or a treat...I wonder which the young prince desires?" This could be a reference to his Lord Leo, as Niles is prone to messing with him, Alfonse, whom Niles calls a "Pretty piece of porcelain", or even Male Corrin, who Niles can S-Support in Fates
Despite being a jokester, Niles level 40 dialogue brings up a good point of being true to yourself and how people, even the Summoner, tend to wear masks. Niles tends to assume that everyone has hidden intentions so it's very in character. (Even though he plays it as a bit of a dirty joke at the end)

🦇Spooky Monster Myrrh🦇
Myrrh is pretty unique in terms of design! She isn't simply a vampire, but her costume specifically plays up a the bat part! With cute fluff and wings!
As stated before she is the first red armored dragon! She also comes with 'Armor March'!
Her sprite does a cute little hop before she transforms!
Her ribbon 'ears' are so cute, you can get them as an accessory in the latest 'Tap Battle'
She's just a kid out here to have a fun festival!;u;
Even though her level 40 dialogue is a little sad, since she acknowledges she will outlive most of the people she has met, Myrrh reminds us the importance of memories and holding them close!
This variant references her father and her time in the Darkling Woods!
Myrrh's very sweet as she mentions that while she wants candy she would prefer to not get any by playing any 'mean' tricks.

This Halloween variant is free via the 'Tempest Trials'!
He is the first Halloween unit to be inspired by minotaurs! These are mythical creatures that are part bull and part man. (Fitting as Mia calls him a 'big ox' in the 'Tempest Trials')
His axe not only looks like it's made of candy but has cute matching bull horns on the pumpkin!
Even during a festival, Dorcas is thinking of his wife. He mentions bringing her candy and how she would be sketching if she were here or his outfit making him smile!
The only Halloween unit to actively mention passing out candy to people!
Continuing the 'Bad Mutton' meme, Dorcas says this about the candy: "Here, take some of this candy off my hands. It looks questionable, but...it's safe. Tested it myself."
His "Outlaw no more" line references the fact he was a bandit before meeting Lyn in Blazing Blade.
This variant of Dorcas further establishes his relationship with Natalie but it also establishes that he enjoyed making kids smile during the Harvest Festival! (This further makes me personally headcanon that the two would be wonderful parents and that these two go to lots of festivals after Natalie gets better;u;)

ok so for once i’m gonna ramble about skullgirls in the tag where people might actually care so here we go
one of the first things that’s rightfully praised about skullgirls is how much personality there is in its character animations, but even the old concept sheets are worth a hell of a lot of commentary and carry a pretty impressive amount of insight to those that went unused [and largely overlooked], so i’m gonna have some fun and see how much extrapolation i can do for a few of them.  [all images taken from the official skullgirls and/or alex ahad’s tumblr]
first up: feng! feng had a relatively high amount of concepts done so she was fun to look at

feng’s movments are, in a word, fluid, and focus on carrying  several distinct strikes through one burst of momentum.

  once she begins a motion, she’s always ready to follow up with another or two without needing to to give herself a new start point, but in the same token she can also land and balance at any moment during these movements. any successive points she launches herself from continues from/adds to the momentum of the previous, but it seems she never lets the inertia hit a point she can't instantly recover from or change the angle of the momentum with ease.

a side thing that's pretty neat about feng is she almost always has those darn birds balanced somewhere on her, which means more often than not she has two horizontal and relatively stationary points throughout her movements and idles. there's not anything particularly telling about this, but it does lend itself to a lot of neat poses :b i guess it would imply she’s been preforming with them for quite awhile though...
as an acrobat, feng’s focus is on grace much moreso than power.  she's not a fighter by profession, but she certainly knows how to put her skills to use in combat [and will readily do so!] i wouldn't guess she's used to fighting a specific kind of opponent to have adapted to, or really even had much deliberate fight training, but some of her concepts seem to have a bit of traditional martial arts moments thrown in, so her fighting prowess may be self-taught, perhaps to accentuate movements in her performance. i'm not knowledgeable enough to know which style, exactly, but it's very reminiscent of air [rotational movements, ease of directional momentum shift] and firebending[dynamic kicks and stance changes] movements in atla.

now i don’t actually know anything about fighter meta or how to build a solid character, but were she in the game, she’d definitely be one of those characters that does shit for damage, but can combo to hell and back. she’s maneuverable and you’re toast if she gets to you, but she might also be easier to punish and have few options when it comes to ranged attacks.
next up, black dhalia

dhalia is really interesting because her sketches seem to to focus on snapping from one extreme to another

a mysteriously concealed stance to a swift sudden burst, dhalia’s posture is solid but poised; she’s always ready to spring to action and strike in any direction at a moment’s notice, and when she does she has TON of flair in it. black dhalia knows she’s good at what she does, and she knows she looks damn good doing it.

she also seems to have a knack for following up an initial action/hit with something bizarre out of nowhere that requires no further exertion from her than to hold whatever pose she just struck. she doesn’t usually put too much into any one hit; to get the job done she leans more into her ability to produce something damaging from pretty much any angle or stance. not one to be easily cornered or duped.
as an seasoned assassin, i imagine she's used to taking down targets with a great deal of variety in their strengths and weaknesses.[the medici certainly have many enemies and grudges, so those on their hitlist likely fall all over the place in terms of uh... competence]. she’s ready for anything. if given advantage, she waits to assess an opponent;concealed so as to not betray her plans to the target, and then delivers a precise, decisive blow. if ambushed or outnumbered, she looks to keep opponents at bay with her variety of gun...weaponry. dhalia seems most lethal at close range, but she has the tools and stamina to win a ranged game too.

In practice it looks like she'd thrive on unpredictability, plenty of moves that come out from the same pose super quickly, with slightly above-average power. not the fastest in movement or cooldown, but plenty of versatility to compensate.
on the third hand, we have annie, who is is…amusingly straightforward in all her attacks.

annie’s pretty much the polar opposite of feng. she uses huge sweeps, fully exerting herself into singular concentrated strikes that are all about getting as much power as possible behind one motion. there is no stopping this girl’s momentum.

like dhalia, annie has a solid stance--but hers is for sturdiness, not surprise; for bracing and anchoring moves that have a lot of kick to them.

it’s hard to say exactly how much involvement sagan would have in her full spectrum moves, but in these examples whenever she uses him, it’s always a... fairly detached thing? like, when annie attacks, it’s either with the cleaver, or with sagan, and there’s not much overlap or synergy between the types of moves.  not that there’s any reason there should be; she utilizes both perfectly well on their own. the cleaver is also interesting because while she can, and often does wield it one-handed, it’s still got enough weight behind it to merit two-handed swings, though she seems to do dual-handed more if there’s some kind of effect along  the swing, like in Crescent Cut and North Sword.

as a self-made skullgirl killer, annie’s targets have probably mostly been very durable and very powerful, but not incredibly mobile. to counter them, she looks to end battles as quickly as possible with defense-shattering strikes or blasts, while using her own mobility to stay out of harm’s way. float like a butterfly, hit like a truck i guess.

despite also being an actor, annie has practically no deliberate visual flair to her movements [luckily for her, her sparkliness is part of the attack’s functionality so it doesn’t matter much if she’s actually trying to look cool and flashy, it happens regardless :b]. she has a lot of fights under her belt and takes this whole thing pretty seriously.
In practice I can see her being an agile hard-hitter, but slower to start and end moves than average, with relatively low combo potential. pretty balanced with options in terms of ranged/close combat
lastly, umbrella. she lacks a distinct fighting style so i have less to say about that, but honestly the sheer wildness of her concepts merits bringing her up.

her “stance” and lack of cohesion in attacks are at least indicative of one thing though: it’s clear she’s pretty much just a normal carefree little kid who hasn’t yet gotten any real fighting experience or training.

but even if she doesn't know much about combat, she does know about hungern, and how to utilize its, uh... odd capabilities [even if it’s... not always a very dignified use of them.]

like, i feel like these aren’t things a kid would immediately think a weird umbrella would be capable of doing, let alone pick up on how to do them. she’s had to have done some experimentation with it over the years to find out this kind of stuff. had someone taught her, i’m sure she would know a more skillful way to make hungern do its thing than literally just flopping down on top of it [but hey maybe it’s just fun :b] we know krieg is a renoir heirloom, so it might not be a stretch to say hungern was too, and if so it’s safe to say umbrella’s probably had it as long as she can remember, and she seems to have it with her basically at all times. she does seem to enjoy having and using it, though i’d guess she doesn’t  get much opportunity to really ‘unleash’ hungern like this, being sheltered and all.

anyway all that said, i think really the only thing preventing umbrella from being a true force to be reckoned with in-universe is some disciplne. not in the sense that sh’s a bad kid [though she certainly isn’t...exemplar either]; she’s got the willingness to learn and a good bit of know-how, she just need some structure behind it and practice applying what she knows to real situations.
in terms of gameplay...man. i dunno. lotta weird moves, looks like a lot of huge hitboxes that would make her a pain to get to without risk to yourself, though aside from that she’d be average in all ways i guess.
i’m still trying to wrap my head around venus and illeum’s sheets, among others... but there may be a few other posts like this coming ‘cause i love doing this shit; if you wanna see me do a particular [both used or unused!] hmu, i’d be down ;y

Some warmup/cooldown sketches from the past week between freelance and commissions. Its the sparkly eye duo. Decided to give Merri a starry tail because I think that does tie in the space theme rather nicely. I gotta play with the style of it a little more but for now I wanted to get the idea down. Fairy always has an eye for colorful and sparkly things. It does not have to rare it can be plastic, stone, glass, or whatever as long as its bright and shiny and has a nice texture to it. For both of these sketches the goal was to avoid making a clean sketch over the initial sketch and just color whatever I had and work with the messy lines. I always feared this made things look sloppy but drawing over the pose often resulted in losing something I liked about initial sketch. It was fun. It made me experiment and try figuring out how to color lines to make them less noticeable if they were not important or use lineweight to make key lines stand out more.
Also been using these to mess with brushes to experiment with textures and more.

Wk1-5 Concept: Scissors, Paper, Rock!
Sorry for the confusing title, this is something that should’ve been posted earlier in the conceptualising phase but has since grown due to my readings and classes. It’s more of a culmination of ideas throughout the five weeks.
Gameplay Mechanics
Moment-to-moment gameplay is a highly important element of game design. By honing the base structure and formal elements early in the design process, the game at later stages will consistently feel good to play. A strong skeleton also means that I can spend less time going back to fix and edit core mechanics and more time fleshing out the game’s features.
For this reason, and also considering that I’ll only be making a prototype, I’ve focused on core gameplay elements and moment-to-moment content first. The sub-points in italics are features that can be expanded upon from the base mechanics once the moment-to-moment gameplay is well refined.
The gameplay loop will include:
Basic attacks, charged attacks and special attacks.
Skill tree
Players can choose from branching paths how their basic attacks and special attacks interact with objects and enemies. E.g, Rock’s kick may be upgraded to deal extra damage OR, it may be upgraded to fling nearby objects at enemies and cause knock-back instead.
Ranged, Melee, and Utility/Healing skills.
Sliding or dodging.
Slightly increased cooldown after each consecutive use.
Character switching
Scissors
Melee. Damage, speed and stealth/surprise.
Can grapple onto certain surfaces and use momentum to swing onto usually unreachable platforms.
Can upgrade to (additionally) either: deal damage to enemies while swinging OR use to grapple and pull enemies toward the player.
Paper
Ranged. Damage over time, healing, object levitation.
Paper’s levitation will enable players to complete puzzles by sending out paper cranes and other origami to interact and lift objects.
Rock
Melee. Tanking/protection or damage, utility.
Can create rock barriers to block projectiles and enemy movement and break cracked walls.
Solving puzzles
Moving objects, coordination,
Players will be able to undertake various roles such as tank, healer, or dps. In later iterations of the game, and if it ever develops to the point where multiplayer can be achieved, the game may be playable with up to three or four players.
Three: A player takes up one of the three characters of Scissors, Paper, Rock and can use their own build for that character.
Four: A player can choose a colour palette and name tag. Each player can freely switch between every character and use their own builds.
By adding multiplayer, it would better accommodate for players who tend to take on a social role when playing games. Looking at games such as Trine and 9 Parchments, it also adds a level of chaos, strategy, sociability, and unpredictability. Personally, when I’m playing games similar with friends and the gameplay calls for a puzzle to be solved, half of the time I seek to wreak havoc by subtly sabotaging my friends. Introducing puzzles with (optional) teamwork was a really fun element of play and something I’d like to try and encourage more of in Scissors, Paper, Rock!.
While writing up the mind map, I tried out a few small icon sketches of each character. Another suggested element of game design was to implement visual references (icons and symbols) for menus instead of text. Not only would this create more appeal, but some symbols can be used to allow players to quickly interpret information conveyed by the system. A dynamic portrait of a heart shrinking might resemble current lives or health, for example. By creating small icons of each character and showing them on the skill tree for instance, the player will immediately be able to recognise whose skill tree they’re currently editing. Individual skills may have icons of scissors or origami paper as another example of how I plan to quickly convey information aside from text.
Other Comments
The original three was going to be Scissors, Paper, Gun. but because I couldn’t think of enough unique gameplay features and roles for Gun to undertake, I decided to change it to Rock. The benefits were that Rock could fulfil a tank/dps and utility role. Keeping Gun would’ve also had too much overlap with Paper’s ranged role.
It worked out well for the story concept. Gameplay wise, having the antagonists make a bullet-hell-storm for players to dodge through or homing projectiles for the player to reflect back sounds much more enjoyable than "stagger”.
