Should I make a drawing or two for every chapter of ‘His favorite Alibi’?

Like when I’ll eventually introduce Human Vox I could draw him getting really upset over Alastor’s existence and proximity to Violet, or I could draw Annie bonding with Alastor?

Currently the plan is a chapter every 1-3 days but the art would significantly slow it possibly to more like once a week or less frequently. Although I suppose I could bring in some of my artist friends to help?

They are pretty standoffish  they don’t talk a lot and they’re pretty rough around the edges (Darlin who?)

Very attached to Sam (as you can expect) but also extremely attached to Darlin

So, we never got to know who are the voice actors in Black & Bruised. I mean, I get why they probably didn't want to be credited or maybe the devs were lazy like they were with some of the background characters designs. So, it had me thinking. If somehow by some miracle we got a remake, sequel, whatevs, they would probably do what Punch-Out!! and Tekken does where they cast VAs to voice their characters in their native language. Here are some VO claims + headcanons I made for my main faves who are also boyfriends plus Dolcita.

Matador

Matador, my headcanon full name for him is Emilio Domínguez Reina.

It was either Julio or Emilio but I wanted to be unique and went with the latter. Domínguez, I picked this as his surname because...It's actually Antonio Banderas' real paternal surname. A little homage. And Reina...I just like it plus it's a common surname in Spain.

Other headcanons I have, he is 27, bisexual and has somewhat of a rivalry with Don Flamenco. He initially had a rivalry/frenemy like relationship with Luchador until the two fell for each other and eventually started dating.

I can see him being voiced by Spanish voice actor Antonio Fernández Muñoz. He is one of my favorite Spain Spanish dub VAs. While I don't watch One Piece, I have heard of his voice work in this and love his voice for Mihawk. That is how I picture Matador sounding. He sounds a bit like the OG.

El Luchador

OK, El Luchador, my headcanon name for him is...Arturo Guzmán Moreno.

Arturo...I just like the name. His surnames I based it off luchadores El Santo (his real name being Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta) and Blue Demon, using his second surname (Alejandro Muñoz Moreno)

Other headcanons I have, he is 28 and pansexual. Initially had a rivalry/frenemy like relationship with Matador until the two developed feelings for each other and eventually started dating.

Luchy (hehe my nickname for him) I can see being voiced by Mexican voice actor Gerardo García. While he is usually the habitual voice for Adam Sandler in Latin America Spanish dubs, I imagine his Roger voice from the LatAm Spanish dub of American Dad as to how I picture Luchy sounding.

Dolcita

Yes, I'm giving Matador's ex who in the game is just a Jumpin' Janet recolor (on the left) and doesn't speak not only a makeover (the picrew on the right) but some headcanons and a voice.

Her full name is Dolores González Pérez. Dolcita is one of her nicknames and mainly referred to that as well as "Dolly". She is Argentine. She is 24, also bisexual, and as stated, she is Matador's ex. After her breakup with Matador, she briefly dated Carmen (yes, Don Flamenco's girl). Out of her relationships, hers with Carmen was one of the healthiest she's been in and although they split, it was amicable and the ladies remain friends.

And since I headcanon her to be Argentine, I went with an Argentine voice actress for her, Luciana Falcón. You can listen to some voice samples here.

heya!! i’ve had this blog for a while now, but i realised i haven’t ever actually done a proper intro on here, so here it is!! my name is aj (she/her pronouns pls)!! i’m 26, black, and i live in the uk. i graduated from uni 3 years ago and currently work in lab admin, but i’ve been doing creative writing for 10+ years!! i’m currently trying to get back into reading by reading a book a month (i usually share the book i’m reading in the sidebar of my main blog, which i follow back with as this blog is a sideblog: @andipxndy), and i write a variety of fanfiction and original works (both based off my own characters and those i currently/have rp’d with in the past). i also take requests for fanfiction, which you can read about below the cut or in this post (i’ve made some changes which mean the post is not relevant atm)!! but in general i love being asked questions about my WIPs and my characters and basically any characters i write, because i love delving into character thoughts and doing character development (so please send me some!!).

this blog started off as a way for me to share my fanfiction writing, which is how i got into writing in the first place and how i came to love it, but now i’m wanting to expand some more share/talk about some of my original works too!! i write ya sci-fi in my original stuff, but i’m known to drift into romance, action-comedy and crime when it comes to fanfiction works. i’m also over on ao3 as andipxndy.

my main fanfic writing fandoms are abbott elementary and alex rider, just to keep things managable, but i also enjoy watching ncis, criminal minds and lockwood & co., and sometimes dive back into old favourite animes (k-on!! is my current anime obsession). i may be slow to write or respond to stuff but i DO enjoy diving into discussing fandom stuff too!! i also like playing video games like sims 4 (ea is a money grab pass it on) and cities skylines, and enjoy dnd and rping with friends!!

before this intro gets too long, here are my main WIPs:

power play (1st draft completed, left to stew)

the first original wip i planned, the story is intended to be part of a 5-book series about a 20-year-old who accidentally gives himself powers, and ends up drawn into the science underground whilst trying to save people that he may or may not have also accidentally given powers. and all whilst trying to appear completely normal to his mum and get a summer job whilst home from university.

the crossover (still working on 1st draft, is my main/november nano project)

this is an adaptation of an old rp au i had with one of my closest friends, adjusted to have new, original characters despite the same plotline. it follows a 17-year-old girl as she’s accidentally transported into a parallel universe, where her parents aren’t her parents and she doesn’t exist. in an attempt to get home, she ends up crossing paths with the people who are meant to be her family, and finds out that they’re all superheroes. insert drama and shenanigans here.

the rich life: a modern bourgeoise au (working on 1st draft, is my camp nano project)

a passion project that i’m completing for my rp partners, this au is split into a 3-book series following the lives of our characters in the upper class, those who work for them, and eventually their children, going through the drama of their lives and how they try so hard not to have it all end up in the press. that obviously doesn’t work.

fanfiction fics and requests (ongoing but this is technically a wip)

technically counts as a wip as i have a backlog of fics in progress to write and share for requesters (and some ideas i’ve had myself), but these are mainly either alex rider or abbott elementary fanfics that have been sent in via ask. you can see extra info below the cut after the next paragraph. my requests are currently closed, and i’m working through my backlog. the request(s) active for the forseeable future are:

Five Years of Mystic Tsukinami

This August it’ll be five years since I created Mystic’s blog. And since I’ve reached the 500 followers mark not long ago, I thought I’ll compile a few fun facts and others about the blog and how Mystic’s character developed through the years into the rampant, chaotic-horny, grinning Founder you all know today! ✨

Origins

I started this blog in August of 2018 thanks to the encouragement of a good friend and fellow Kino-lover, @munarisblog! I only interacted with the Hispanic community of DL’s fandom at the time, writing in Spanish all the time.

I’m not very sure when, but as friends started being less and less active, I turned to putting out content in English and getting myself out there by sending the first ask/starter to other blogs. Through which I acquired incredibly mutuals and people I very much consider friends today ✨

Designs

The first ever imagery of Mystic’s design I had to show for was manga-clips and Picrew depictions, as it was what everyone was doing back in the day.

The manga clips, I used even up to a few months ago, but the Picrew avatar is very, very old. So, if you recognize it: Congratulations, you’ve been in this hellhole for quite a while LMAO

I later received the opportunity to obtain a proper sprite for Mystic! It being made for me by the talented @/lavendel081 ✨

I believe these were introduced some time in 2018/2019. Don’t quote me on that, though. I’m not quite sure, but pretty confident it was very early on. I’m still greatly thankful to Lavendel for offering to make this sprite of Mystic for me back then.

Moving to the present, summer 2022, I got in contact with Lavendel once more in order to properly commission new sprites for Mystic. The finally product—which, fun fact, were coincidentally done by Mystic’s birthday on the dot lol—are the Mystic you interact with presently.

As for Mystic’s other forms, I’ve only shown his wolf form. Which I will present here in both their past and current versions—

I’m the future, I plan to make (at least) a sprite for Mystic’s owl form :D

Character Development

I was going to say I didn’t mean this as in dumping trauma on him, but that’s a lie lmao

In the beginning, Mystic was very much a flat character with very little interesting attributes to him, besides the fact he was an OC descendant of the Tsukinami. His personality was very much based on Shin’s back then, aside from a few aspects that would be considered extremely out of character today.

Early-Mystic used to be extremely shy and easily flustered, being (and forgive me for the wording lmao) a virgin who had no experience in love whatsoever. That is to say, Kino was his first-everything back in the day. Not to mention, he was your typical prince-boy that never had to lift a hand for why he wanted. That is to say, he was pretty whiny.

The current version of Mystic I have today is the abso-fucking-lutely opposite. Sleeps around, trauma based off past relationships, flirty, emotionally-unavailable, outgoing—you get it.

Not to mention, a lot of his backstory is based off the very vague notes I had of him during his early stages. Back then, I knew he was a prince, but truly had no clue where I was going with the Owl Clan and their lore. What you see today is the most detailed his backstory has ever been.

Routes appearances

Oh my god, I cringe just thinking about it. The very first version I wrote of Mystic’s LE route is very much what I described of his character during early-stages (refer to the inexperienced, easily flustered virgin fellow). It was a mess. He was so boringly weak, I could have made him a human and there (mostly) not had been much difference.

The Mystic I’ve depicted in his (in-progress) Dark Fate route is the kind of character Mystic is presently, and who is much like the canon that should be followed.

This post isn’t all that impressive (I’m still considering making something else that includes my followers/community), but I thought it fun to make something that could trace back to the very beginning. I’m really thankful for those that have been here for a long time, but also you guys that have just arrived months, or even weeks prior.

I’ve met incredibly writers and characters through Mystic, with whom I hope to be able to continue interacting with ^^

Some thoughts/notes from the depths of my bachelorette au planning document:

An early list of contestants had Spot as one of the contestants for some reason? Anyway, I realized pretty quickly that I needed a character to be in a director/producer type role, so I put Spot in that role and the enemies with benefits plotline was born.

Related to that, I knew early on that the host of the show would be Jack’s ex (it’s one of the first notes in my planning document), but I thought about it for a bit before I decided it would be Race.

I originally had it in my notes that Crutchie/Charlie and Albert would admit their feelings for each other in Mystic but when I got to that chapter I realized that they weren't on that fast of a timeline.

Related to timing, the conversation between Katherine and Race post-Romeo elimination about the need to play a part was supposed to take place later, but as I was writing I realized it was the right time for that conversation.

My first draft of Jack and Davey’s post kiss conversation was a little angrier and also ended with Race showing up with the illegal phones, but then I realized that he’d show up on the security cameras if he did that and rewrote the scene.

The reason Davey is good at BS (the card game) is because Sarah taught it to him when they were kids–she decided he should know how to lie, because his teachers sure as heck weren’t prioritizing that.

Miles is based on a friend of mine, including the messy ponytail, dislike of formal clothing, and unreasonably good Connect Four skills. Miles in real life is also probably a bit funnier than his fictional counterpart.

For that matter, most (but not all) of the named one-off characters that show up are based on people I've met–I'm not always great at producing characters from scratch, and some people in my life have specifically asked to make cameos in my writing.

I didn't quite think this through at first, but Crutchie had a challenging schedule for this whole thing–he won his category at paraclimbing nationals, immediately went home to pack for the show, and then spent the next couple months proceeding to not train for the world cup (which he leaves for right after the men tell all films).

There was a scene from the airplane date that I cut because it kind of interrupted the flow of the story where a bunch of the characters gave each other their canon nicknames (for example, Spencer -> Specs).

The idea for Albert deciding to get his ears pierced came from a mistake I made–I was using a picrew to figure out character appearances, forgot to clear the earrings I'd given the last character I'd done, and then realized it would be a good character growth thing for him.

this is Festé, my non-binary tiefling ranger.

they used to have long hair but chopped it off because of the Troubles (act 3). in the canon-matrix i have created for them (hahahah) they keep their hair long but usually done up in a braid. kind of plain, to be honest. if it were an option in bg3 i would have had them in long anime girl hair. this picrew is closer to the vision i originally had for them:

they are one of my retired 5e characters and their backstory is a little chaotic, lots of retcons and parallel timelines because my dm never lets us have an easy game. basically, there was this sorceress that it took us five (oog) years to get a party together and beat, because people kept either leaving, moving or their pc died in game. it was a homebrew, so a lot of wacky things happened.

they're non-binary- mostly because they cannot really be bothered with gender when there's a weapon to wield and a potential friend in distress.

on that note, it was actually everyone around them who starting referring to them with neutral pronouns. they just... never made a definitive claim of being one gender or another. one pc in a former campaign (a centaur barbarian named Basios) once referred to them as "my non-descript friend!" and that was hilarious, and it also stuck.

it's canon based on past 5e campaigns that they don't like elves. they have a secret hate-on for elves. so maybe a certain pale elf has something to do with that- we may never know.

they have a husband and an adopted kid in one of those timelines.

i recently resurrected them to play through the netherdeep campaign with a new group.

i'm inserting their adventures in baldur's gate as what they were up to before they met their husband.

their husband is a lawful evil wizard named Mordren who loves living in a cave and murdering people who enter the cave.

Festé was the only other person besides him to walk out of that cave alive, uwu.

in bg3 canon (my save file), they're an Astarion truther and definitely have carried the "i can fix him" torch for a long time.

they're a bit of a happy dumbass, and they don't talk a lot.

it's hard to get them riled up, as it were. they're a relatively calm, accepting and objective person.

the only thing they're really scared of is losing someone they've made a connection with.

they have had a lot of lovers but they're not the type to make a big deal of it. everyone was someone they loved fully and in a respectable way.

they're the character that is most like me, in a way. i played them really honestly in bg3 to how i would respond to a lot of the dialogue. so in a sense, not a lot of role play was going on in their run.

after the events of baldur's gate, they'll probably go on to have some more small adventures before the big encounter with the sorceress i mentioned. i would say during the events of the bg3 they'd be roughly 26-27, and they were 32-33 during the sorceress campaign.

hi my love! thank you so much, you're the absolute sweetest!

a lot of the inspiration for YQHBR comes from my personal journey on tumblr over the last 12+ years (and even before then, on other platforms like MySpace & such). i had a bit of a heyday back in 2012-2015 and now i'm in what i like to refer to as my "modern era" (this blog) so i've seen & done a lot. my friends are a huge inspiration for ian's little squad (Cassie, Zoe, Victor, Liv) and all of their interactions/activities. as far as the text posts go, i usually either a) think of "big" posts i've seen in the past and tweak them a little bit to fit the narrative, or b) just drop in a post (or a bit of yearning and/or horny musing) that i'd only ever have the courage to post on one of my lil secret sideblogs, lmao. in regards to the community aspect of things, that's also largely pulled from personal experience! i've come to learn that the formula for building online communities is pretty much the same across the board: ask games and surveys (tag games), picrews (or photo challenges), and personal posts/rants/etc. they manifest differently based on the platform but ultimately it's all the same. so for those, i just imagine what i'd post or what my friends would post if we were in ian or mickey or cassie's shoes and then tweak it to fit the character and story!

as far as the relationship aspect of things, i met my wife here almost ten years ago and we had our own little Moment so i admittedly pull a lot of inspiration from that! they started sending me anons then slid into my DMs and the rest is history, so that aspect of the story is very much pulled from my own life, which i think is super fun!

back in 2014, a poem made by a writer and (i believe) tumblr user named Natalie Betancourt went viral on here. it was called "take me" and the opening lines were "take me to the art museum and kiss me by the paintings" which i'm sure you've seen somewhere before, whether it be here on tumblr, on pinterest, or maybe tiktok, or even on someone's t-shirt or totebag or laptop sticker. it spiraled off into a whole Thing and has sort of become synonymous with the Tumblr Aesthetic itself and was a huge inspiration for the end of the chapter!

Hi there! Thanks for the ask! c: I really liked how Lilith turned out in writing; she's really fun to write about and I wish there's more of her in the game. It's great that she has more lore in NB. Agreed! She's such a cool grandma💖.

01: What's their relationship with MC (if they exist alongside this AU Lilith)?

Unfortunately, they don't really know each other cause she's dead. :( For some reason, I think of her like the type of grandma who likes feeding their grandkid and sneaking them out to chill in amusement parks or malls on a weekday. She has such a fun, rebellious and unhinged nature that MC also has canonly in the game and it's really interesting to see! 04: What do they look like? Do you have a picture/picrew of what you envision them to look like?

Designing and art isn't my forte so I just based off her looks on the manga version of Lilith.

I did commission some art pieces of her with Samael and Levi! (Please note Samael is an OC-fied version of Simeon and is not an angel nor related to anyone in the Celestial Realm. It's complicated but his "Simeon" appearance is borrowed from a close friend. He actually doesn't look like that. If he were given a more human-like form, he would look more like an older version of Levi Her looks and colour palette are intentionally the same with Satan because Satan was made in her image (Lucifer was thinking about her when they fell). There's some of Lilith's traits that are reminiscent of Satan as well: her being a book nerd, her curiosity, her tendency to prank Lucifer, etc.

She always wears a flower on her hair; typically Abyssal Carnations (which are just carnations IRL but are much rarer since they're grown in the darkness/the AU's version of the underworld where Samael governs)

Despite carnations being her favourite flower, I think of "lily/lilies" fitting her a lot. Not because of the flower itself but a passage from "Song of Solomon" which actually inspired the title of the spinoff I wrote before(and also her human name!):

Most of her lore such as her being rebellious and sassy and being "friends" (they're married and she's down bad) with Samael is taken from lore and RL references. Samael and Leviathan being biological siblings is a creative liberty, mostly because some texts refer Samael as the serpent/connected to the serpent (depending on the source) who tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. Since Levi also is associated with snakes and serpents, I was like "Wow you know what would be interesting-" and glad I made the choice since canon NB is vague enough for me to interpret Levi and Simeon's relationship to be familial. I'm glad canon also made Levi one of the reasons why Simeon wrote TSL ;w: I love Lilith's, Samael's and Levi's family dynamics so much!

He’s Evans best friend! Though in gym class he and Fritz make the perfect dodge ball duo.

His family lives in an trailer-ish house.

His family has to split tv time since they only have on tv . So when his time is up Robin listens to radio podcast in his room, usually ones telling stories or conspiracy theories. (He believes 93% of them)

Other than hating he’s an only child robins is quite literally just happy to be who he is.

Relationships:

Evan: when he and his family first moved in Robin met him while exploring the neighborhood. For a few days they didn’t interact much but when Robin heard Evan’s dad owned fredbears (which for what he knew as an arcade) he immediately started asking Evan questions thinking he was the coolest kid around. Eventually, due to Robin constantly picking to hang out with Evan they grew closer as friends. (Robin is possibly the only person other than Elizabeth to think Evan is cool)

Michael: he doesn’t like him. He’s mean to Evan and sometimes insults Robin for defending him, but Robin gets payback for Evan by prancing Micheal. Mike sees Robin more as an annoyance if anything.

William: William thinks Robin is very uhh…well…Dumb. (He isn’t completely wrong) A son from a family of hippies? Hanging with his son whose father is a successful buisness owner?? He doesn’t see Robin as a good influence AT ALL. Especially given how Robin pulls pranks on his other two children and his customers from time to time. (Robin dosent know William hates him. In fact he thinks William enjoys his company)

Elizabeth: he does not want her doing his hair again. But other than forced makeovers and tea parties , he sees her as someone who can get him out of trouble when he pushes mikes buttons too much.

Fritz: they met in gym class when they were the only ones left on the team during a game of dodgeball. The two used their lack of common sense and more of their sporty skills to win the round for a piece of candy. The other teams can never beat these two when they’re paired. Fritz has his own friend group but is very welcoming to Robin.

Henry: Robin and Evan reminds him of how he and William were when they were younger.

Cassidy: he pranked her in 5th grade during recess, She’s held a grudge…

HIS CREATION:

I made robin around 2019-early 2020 on Roblox. People were doing afton family rp and I wanted to join as an original character, so I made my avatar look like a kid and named him “Robin” (name based off of some Lego character I saw in a show on Cartoon Network) I liked this Robin character so much that I made a picrew of him and did some gacha club stuff with the picrew used as reference. Eventually I redesigned him and some friends drew him, he’s went through so many backstory changes over the years but this is the one that’s prevents sticking.

FINALE NOTE: He is no way based off of Gregory despite the similar appearance and personality. I’ve made him long before Gregory’s concept was a thing so I just wanna point that out.

i apologize if u have already posted this and i missed it / forgot but do u have descriptions for the upp? like their appearances n whatnot … iwould like to view them

I HAVENT BUT I DO KNOW!!! i made mary in a picrew but i can never find ones that have exactly what i want so i give up but . here ^_^

mary - long straight very light brown hair, green eyes, around 5'5-5'6. she wears lots of outdoorsy clothes and practical things so thick jackets, hking boots, anything with a lot of pockets, etc. wears her hair tied back most of the time and usually has some sort of hairband or scarf keeping it out of her eyes. she does like cardigans too though and she has a collection of skirts and resses she wears but they arent very good for ghosthunting. she doesnt wear makeup but she is good at it!! lots of earthy tones, nothing bright. she totally has a buzzcut at some point but i have no idea where in the timeline that goes considering the rest of the time its past her shoulders

cory - very short curly dark brown hair (hes naturally blond but hes got the aesthetic going on), more greyish-blue eyes, 5'8 or so but he slouches a lot. tends to wear darker clothes but he does own a lot of very bright shirts and such for contrast. he tries not to stand out as much as he can in school because without the upp and other deadwood kids he would be tormented by other students. i imagine bc of his strong Sight and a few quirks of how that works he wears sunglasses or something similar to those tinted lenses for colourblindness to hide how his eyes glaze over a lot if hes not focusing hard enough. got that kinda punk/skater look but a lot less cool and more trying to copy what other people wear that isnt high maintenance

dara - i have the most clear visual for him because hes based entirely off a guy in my year so while i unfortuantely cannot show pictures i can describe him. IRISH. VERY short almost military cut ginger hair some freckles but not as pale as he could bc bc hes a sports guy he gets out a lot more than anyone else. wears jerseys and halfzips and shorts in whatever their school colours would be sorry i dont know what american sports clothes are. other than that yeah he just dresses like a normal guy. around 6'1. probably more on the sweatpants and tshirt and jacket type of guy rather than jeans and hoodie though

abby - sterotypical american cheerleadergirl. 5'1, super long blonde hair that she has up in some sort of bun or braid most of the time, light brown eyes? very minimal makeup but she has that always perfect look to her. shes also a ballet dancer though so shes a lot stronger than anyone would expect from her (probably teaches some small things to mary in theiir spare time. i want them to bond). while in school shes always got that meangirls perfection colour-coordinated outfits vibe as Soon as she gets back to deadwood shes just Some Girl. doesnt want to get in trouble with her parents or her school friends for destroying her Approved Clothes she probably borrows a lot of mary and corys clothes for going out and has a special collection of practical clothes for those adventures. its not that she dislikes the way she dresses in school its just that deadwood is such a boring town that she'd look out of place like that. if the upp were just chilling together she'd wear her own clothes though

william - same as canon, probably? pretty much his getup from season1. i dont get to ave as much fun with him i think his hair is a lot longer back in deadwood though (it gets to that length again after the timeskip once he relaised he can make his hair grow as fast as he wants bc wisp powers or some shit, but when he'd started in the prime defenders it was suggested he cut his hair or tie it back in fights since longer hair can be dangerous), probably almost to his shoulders. lot of dark colours but unlike cory who does black and one bit of colour he just goes for any dark tones mixed together

michael also maybe exists but i feel like michael is more of an experience than a person so like. he can be whatever. whether or not he exists is debatable

Ninjago One Shots

Birthday Gift

Based on the above picrew. When I was making it my sister said that Jay would give Skylor the earrings as a birthday gift.

Jay Walker was the kind of person that liked to show his friends how much he cared, so when the team decided to hold a party for Skylor’s birthday he made it his mission to find her the perfect gift. Of course, he had no idea what the amber master would like, making this a whole lot harder. Jay was starting to pull his hair out over this when he heard the Smith siblings walk in and realized he could ask them for ideas. 

Nya walked over to Jay, almost collapsing as he ran into her. The water master smiled at her boyfriend as she pulled him back up into a standing position. Jay then begins to explain his little dilemma to the other two, going into more detail than needed. Kai immediately responded by telling the other two how he had planned out a perfect date so that they could catch up and she could take a break from the restaurant. 

“Kai, he asked for ideas, not your plan for tomorrow,” Nya said, trying to think of what advice to give to Jay.

“Well she likes weird little items, so try and find something that fits that,” Kai said, turning on the T.V., knowing that Jay was most likely going to run off to find something and abruptly end the conversation.

Jay thought for a minute before the perfect idea came to him. He could make something strange and luckily he already had the materials. Saying a quick thanks to Kai and Nya he ran off to his room. Pulling out one of the boxes under his bed he was met with an assortment of random items. Making a mental note to go through all of it and figure out what to actually keep, he grabbed out two small, dark green squirmles, some earring hooks, and some sewing tools.

The next day Kai took Skylor out to Mega Monster Amusement Park while the others set up the monastery for the party. Zane and PIXAL were making the cake, Lloyd and Cole hung up a banner and streamers, Nya blew up some balloons, and Jay set the table. At the end of the table was the pile of presents, one from everyone (except Kai) and all of them being covered in shiny paper.

Right as they finished Kai walked in followed by a giant stuffed bear, which the team assumed was being held by Skylor.

“Ahh, hello Skylor, happy birthday. My condolences, I have some urgent business and can not stay for the celebration,” Wu said, walking into the room. Skylor assured him that it was fine and she understood.

The group of friends enjoyed a nice meal, courtesy of Zane while talking and getting to forget the stress of their lives for a few hours. It was nearly 10:00 p.m. by the time they got to opening gifts. Skylor had received a lot of great stuff, but she had to admit that what Jay gave her was on her list of favorite gifts.

feeling very close to my elf kintype (?)life? lately

(it's odd, i don't think of that as something i used to be, but rather someone i still am, it's hard to explain)

anyway, i guess here's a sort of call to try and find anyone that may remember me, though there probably isn't a lot to go off of unfortunately since what i remember is pretty blurry.

dark hair, very long and curly, blue eyes. i primarily remember wearing white, but occasionally pale blues and silvers

I think i had some sort of scarring on my face too but i don't know from what

I don't remember my name, but i am drawn to "aimenel" which apparently means "lark" in quenya

as far as i can tell i was a sort of priestess figure, but with a focus on Varda, not really on the other Valar oddly enough? They were still really important in my spirituality and practice, but not to the same extent.

I remember also being fairly musical, I remember playing a harp at one point and I think maybe something like a lute

I could mainly be found in the forest and have felt a strong pull toward Lothlórien in particular, but I'm not sure where I may have spent time before or after, or really anything about my family or friends; I don't even really know what part of Arda's history I was alive for, except based on what I remember seeing/doing.

I do remember going on some sort of journey from Lothlórien to Mirkwood one time, but I really don't know what that was about or why

the picrew on the left is him at the beginning of the story and the one on the right is after he's suffered The Horrors (tm) because this specific story is like a greek tragedy. every character (especially rowan) is trapped by the Narrative Curse and they're doomed to become part of the cycle that both made and destroyed their predecessors and their fates were determined before their stories even began and their endings were already written but the love was there. anyway

if you've seen me ramble abt the 2013 movie epic, then you'll know that I was annoyed at how something with such incredible worldbuilding could be sooo spectacularly shitty. so some of the elements in this were inspired by the movie but most of it is shit I came up with. but anyway they're a bunch of really tiny people who live in a huge sentient forest that's magically and intrinsically connected to them in really deep and profound ways (sort of a "I am a part of you and you are a part of me" kinda vibe because like .... the forest Created Them and they care for the forest and when they die their bodies decompose and give back to the forest and it's a CYCLE. everything in this is a fucking cycle btw.) but the king or queen of the forest is The Most Connected to the forest and they can communicate with the forest itself and all of its moving parts, and when the king/queen dies, their spirit merges with the sentient forest, so really the forest "spirit" is just an amalgamation of hundreds of past kings and queens and the actual forest itself, and nobody really knows if the forest was sentient without the spirits of the kings and queens or if it had always been that way. but the forest chooses each new king/queen from the people by sensing who's more connected to the forest than others, and who's most fit to rule. by tradition, the current king/queen takes the newly chosen ruler to live at the mother tree (yes, that's based off of actual mother trees in nature :] because I think they're cool as fuck) with them to be trained in politics/mastery over their connection to the forest. the current ruler remains in power until their successor fully masters their abilities, which usually doesn't happen until they're well into their twenties or thirties. then when the new king/queen is old enough (usually around fifty or older), the forest chooses a successor for them to train, and the cycle happens all over again

as you may have guessed, rowan is the next successor to the throne. but before he was chosen to be the next king by an all-powerful, all-knowing sentient forest, he was a knight-in-training alongside his best friend willow (the knights also have extensive lore but if someone asks abt willow I'll explain them in his post instead since it's more relevant to him). they started out as rivals during training, but over time became very close friends. however, once the forest chose rowan as the new king, everything changed. rowan was whisked away to the mother tree to be trained as the new king under the tutelage of the current ruler, queen olive (my wife <3), and willow was left behind to finish his training. because of their separate duties (rowan having to learn how to rule an entire kingdom and be the spiritual bridge between the people and the forest, and willow doing extensive training missions and shit) they didn't see each other for an entire year before running into each other during a celebration at the mother tree. they spent the entire time catching up and getting reacquainted, and willow decided to participate in the trials* that were coming up.

*the trials are how each ruler's inner guard is chosen; knights who want to be a bodyguard compete through a series of challenges, including speed/endurance/strength tests, contests of wit, and gladiator-style arena matches. at the end, the king/queen in training can choose 2 or 3 from the top 5-10 knights who competed. the trials are basically the forest's competitive sport that they all watch and get super invested in, and for the week of competition it's like one big long celebration (kinda like the world cup or olympics)

willow competes in the trials, and rowan gets a front-row seat, being the guy who has to choose someone from the ranks of competitors and all. there's 110% a scene where willow walks out onto the arena shirtless and rowan's like O.O

and obviously, willow ends up as one of the top finishers, and rowan chooses him and one another, sienna (<333) to be his inner guard. from there, they all live at the mother tree together and engage in Shenanigans (tm) as they basically just. fall in love and goof off and be kids.

but then. they get one hell of a reality check when queen olive is murdered by someone on the inside, and rowan, still a teenager with very little grasp on his powers/skills, becomes king. overnight he suddenly has the entire kingdom on his shoulders, and a murderer/traitor within his own walls to find, and war brewing with the neighboring kingdoms, and his only allies are willow, sienna, and ash (head of the guard, and formerly queen olive's bodyguard/wife). and this is where the themes of narrative cycles and being consumed by the forest really come into play because rowan is shoved into the cycle of Being Part Of The Forest and being consumed by it. and losing himself to the forest and the spirits of the past kings and queens. and the more he masters his powers, the whiter his hair gets (both as a physical symptom of the power changing him, and as a symbolic thing of how the throne ages/drains him even though he's still so so young. plus I'm a sucker for white hair).

I'm still not exactly sure how his story ends, because on the one hand, tragic endings make me soooo unwell but on the other, there's really no other way for this story to go. he's part of the forest and he'll be consumed by it, body and soul. just like olive before him, and the queen before olive, and the king before her, and the queen before him. this was always how his story is gonna end, even if it makes me want to bite through my drywall
