Queen’s Luncheon // Peter
Peter is sporting his uncle’s finest promenading suit as to appease his Grandmama. Attached to his hip will be his late father’s antique pocket watch. Peter will be escorting a Miss Sarah St. John to the luncheon, and has high hopes that his suit will pair nicely with anything she wears, because she makes any outfit look elegant.

Queen’s Luncheon || Lydia
Lydia Mowbray, formerly Baroness Gramercy, will be debuting her new-old name at the Queen’s Luncheon benefitting the Inspired Sisters of Saint Theresé. Having waited to return to London midseason, she is thrilled to wear one of her new gowns, a lovely red day dress that shall match with her date, the esteemed Marquess of Islay. In place of a bonnet, she has opted for a satin parasol and a fresh, loose coiffure. A necklace from her mother’s jewelry collection completes the look.

CLOSED STARTER || @margaretmulgrave LOCATION || 13 Merriwether Street EVENT || Colchester Mulberry Soiree
The Colchester Mulberry Soiree was one of the last events of the season and so that meant anyone and everyone in London society would be in attendance. Some were eager and happily ready to say goodbye to it but for Richard, it was a time of reflection. He had a lot that had gone wrong this season but in a few short weeks, he was to marry a bride that all should adore. Even with the heavens opening up and Richard’s coat getting a bit more soaked than intended, there was still a lot of the night to look forward to.
Just by looking at him, the people in attendance could see that Richard was fussing with his cravat while he waited to see one person in particular. As Richard wandered around the Colchester’s home, the size of the house surprised him immensely. Richard was involved in conversations around the Baron’s vine and violet courtyard. Of course Richard’s interests were piqued but it all faded when he saw that the Mulgrave party had arrived and so he made his apologies and left the men to their talk. “Miss Mulgrave,” Richard smiled as he bowed and took his fiancée’s hand and kissed the back of it. “I am delighted to see you and your aunt here tonight.” And from the smile on his face, it was evident just how delighted he was.
“It may not be proper to dance with one’s fiancée but I do hope that there is room on your dance card for me.” Richard never quite understood that rule. Why shouldn’t a man want to dance with a woman who he admired when they were wed or on the precipice of it. Richard turned to Margaret’s aunt Helena. “I did enquire and it seems that our hosts have a punch bowl featuring sherbet and some very comfortable seats.” Richard could only imagine the toll the season had brought down upon the elder Mulgrave and he felt somewhat responsible for it given his recent revelations that were printed. “And once we have danced, maybe we can go exploring together?” Richard asked Margaret in barely a whisper so only she could hear him.

10 August 1800 A little after 8pm
“Just-- hurry!” She huffed as Bridget hurriedly unfastened the rain-soaked gown Ophelia had planned to wear to the night’s soiree. She had run through what felt like a sheet of water on her way to the carriage, got halfway there, and decided she was in no fit state to show up.
Part of her wondered if it would be best to simply skip the whole ordeal now. She would be late, in a second rate dress, with wet, drooping curls, and sodden shoes... Not to mention it was the very last event of the season, and the foremost memory that the Ton would call upon.
She very well might have decided to simply stay home if she had not volunteered to be a sponsor. And the idea that Lord Ridel might, for even a moment, need her assistance and find her not in attendance left her feeling rather ill.
There were others she would like to see as well-- Sarah, and Margaret, and Ernest, and Elton... And then of course there was Harry. Even in such a disastrous state as she was, Ophelia could hardly bring herself to pass up an opportunity to see him.
She lifted her arms, allowing the new dress to be draped carefully over her head, and fastened in the back. And, sighing at her reflection, she smoothed her hands down the front.
“Well, let’s try this again.”

Guest / Invite No.12 / Front parlor / Roll:  6
@devilsmood
“Honestly, a scavenger hunt?” He murmured to his brother, rolling his eyes. He was smiling though, clearly at least a little amused by the activity, though unwilling to admit it. “Mine says a quartzite carved lion cub, what about yours?” Leaning over, he peaked down at Nik’s invitation and made a little hmph in response. “Yours sounds far more interesting than mine, why do you get the goddess? I bet Effingham did that on purpose.”
He smacked the invitation against his hand, searching the room for some wine. Spotting a table, he made his way over and picked up a glass. “I suppose if we’re going to do it. . . We may as well start here.” Taking a sip, he tucked the invitation under his arm and opened the drawers of the table, checking to see if there was anything of note hidden inside.

Kenneth will done a traditional Scottish kilt, red of course. He will don a white Jacobite shirt with a matching cape to his guilt. It will be warm so no reason to fix his hair when it return to messy curls in a few hours. He will be matching with his date, Lydia Gramercy-Mowbray.

guest / invite no. 23 / dining room / roll : 8
“A painted ceramic antelope head...”, Edmund read aloud again, more to himself, and shook his head in disbelief. He’d agreed to a little party with an Egyptian theme, not this abusrdity of a scavenger hunt for treasures from abroad. He let his gaze wander around the lavishly decorated room, oh, how very over the top this whole affair was. How jealous Edmund was that he hadn’t thought of such an illustrious, grand thing, first. Offering a curt nod to someone in acknowledgement as he passed by them, Edmund made his way over to a small table at the end of the room and sneaked a glass of wine. There was no way he’d get through the evening sober. Still, he fought every urge not to down the glass in one go, took a reasonable amount of time and then turned around to put the emptied glass back - oh.
Oh, what was the harm in going along with Effingham’s little scavenger hunt? Edmund leaned forward and reached into the decorative plant, partings its leafs, his eyes searching for a glimpse of that ceramic artifact.

Lydia Gramercy / Invite No. 19 / Ballroom / Roll: 5
@themarquessofislay
A thrill of giddiness sparked through Lydia as she dashed into the ballroom. She tried to quell the niggling feeling that she was perhaps not as welcome as other guests, she had been shocked to receive an invitation. Taking the expansive room in, she made note of places where her item could be hidden. Spotting a tall potted bouquet of flowers, Lydia made a beeline and began separating the blooms to search.

Margaret selects a simpler frock for her second outing among the tons finest. Pale pink muslin with a delicate white center, enhanced with embroidered sleeve cuffs and bust. She also dons white six-button gloves, an intricate lace parasol. And lastly, a woven bonnet with lace lining, a deep wine-colored ribbon, and an assortment of white flowers tastefully attached to the side.

Cliveden House Party, 1799 (Season Finale)
“A fanfare of dancers, fire eaters, an elephant, and two tigers led the procession onto the grounds of Cliveden. Porters carried a golden palanquin through the crowd of onlookers, setting the vehicle down in front of the steps of the main house. The Earl of Effingham & Duke of Sussex stepped out-- one final grand entrance of the season.”
