Do you know about Tom Felton who said in a interview that Draco's boggart could be his own father?

OH MY GOD THE IMPLICATIONS THAT HAS. i can think of a few ideas off the top of my head, and the main ones of how the boggart presents itself could be: a fear of dissapointing his father, as such it would be lucius scolding him or being outright angry at him; afraid of his father dying, as such it could either be his father getting AKed in front of him or even a tombstone with his name; something more dark, in the sense that the boggart implies that lucius is physically and/or sexually abusing draco. which, honestly, if i were remus and had to witness that, atop having draco's trauma be unfurled so openly, i would be so bloody horrified. gods, tom felton, you are once more a blessing.

I loved your take on my "what if?" question because perfectly reflects how I imagine Lucius!

In reality I don't imagine this for your story or in general, mine was just a curiosity because (what a coincidence!) my idea of Draco is just the one you have in mind for your fanfiction.

Draco could be arrogant and bratty, but in my opinion he is "sexually modest". Even because of the high standards of his parents, I imagine him avoiding too explicit avances and sex in general, so to stay pure until you don't find someone "worthy". Lucius but especially Narcissa spoiled him and treated him as someone special and rare, so I figure him thinking something like "I don't want to ruin my reputation doing dirty stuffs and disappoint my parents too."

I notice how often Draco is written as a wild and libertine in fanfiction (that is totally ok, everyone could write what they like!) but I imagine him as a virgin, totally. Of course, until things happen ;)

Aaaand psss, if you want to share something else about your ideas, I'm more than happy to read them! 👀 Of course, within certain limits, no pressures! 🙋‍♀️

i am glad to have been of help with your “what if”! it was incredibly fun to think about, and it did help stretch my thinking muscles with things considering lucius/draco. depending on how you go about the ship, there are endless possibilities, and your scenario was very enjoyable!!

and considering draco- i would like to say that i agree wholeheartedly!! i will admit, i love the wild draco headcanons and aus. i am big on having contradictory headcanons, and i personally enjoy it when draco does it in a “fuck you” to the family at least, when canon divergence is HEAVY. but, at the end of the day, and deep down in my heart, i will always see draco as a “prude” and very modest when it comes to sex- all of the points you have brought up are on the same line as my own!

there are so many layers to it and i love it all!!! from the pure blooded upbringing of his childhood, which i think we can agree is deeply rooted in old-fashioned ways, many of which look down upon heavily on what is seen as whoreish behaviour and as such heavily discourages sleeping around and making a whore of yourself. to the way his parents had made him think about yourself- the way you said of his parents teaching him he needs someone “worthy” to sleep with, since he is special and important. i have a love for narcissist!draco, and so ending up thinking about himself like “i am better than all others, and as such only someone who is close to my level is worthy of being bedded by me/bedding me” kind of deal. its ah!! so great!!

WOW WOW ok im going to talk about the songs in the order i listened them to so-

ROOTS IS SO GOOD WOW i am not kidding when i got shivers because of it. it is also definitely going to become a personal favourite, and i LOVE that it can work so well for ATKB. the anger hatred that draco is starting to feel towards his father because of what he has done - its so good. sadly, our draco is not at a point of escaping lucius :P

i want my innocence back gave me such a delightful sense of dread listening to it. not only is it such a great song, but it fits so well with dracos desperation to understand why his father did what he did !!!!!!!!

Oh well, that's normal but it's even a nice and satisfying thing when all is builded! There's some movies that I love about this concept of apparently flawless families, who actually hide the darkest secrets. It's interesting to read and write. And you're doing it perfectly!

By the way I can easily imagine Lucius as a secretly cruel man in the sheets, enjoying the others' pain, humiliation and ruin. I mean, dude, he is a control and power freak after all, so why not? There is this interesting conflict of Lucius who on the one hand enjoys hurting his own son and on the other hand tries to make him succubus and consenting.

I take this opportunity for a question: you said Draco is bisexual in your story, even he prefers men and his parents knew it. I read here that you think that Lucius is actually "glad" to know it in part but acted like a good father all the time.

I wonder, what if other than that Draco were have been someone who is actually turned on by violence, a masochist? And told it to his father, since he trusted him? Do you think Lucius would have thought badly of him because he sees him as his "pure son" or would have reacted differently?

lucius is ABSOLUTELY a sadist in this fic btw!! 100%. having been raised to see himself as above others he, by default, had ended up taking up quite a few sadistic tendencies, many that translated into his sex life as well.

going to go on a bit of a tangent here bc i have this whole thing i have thought about the last few days since you sent your ask and read it. the actual idea of it in 'A Traitor Knows Best' is a bit different from what you have imagined, and ill get into that in a bit, after i write out what i have in mind for your scenario.

and... man that is incredible and has so many possibilities, wow! i think, had draco shared such a secret to his father (and, very very awkwardly mind you, since he wasnt sure how much he should share and how proper it would be to talk about it, since pure blooded views on sexuality are more repressed, ya know?) his father would have mixed reactions.

he would, most definitely, revel in knowing this bit of information- his mind would go wild at knowing such a little, but important, fact about his son. not only would his attraction flare up even more(i mean, this idea of "it was meant to be" would take its roots into his mind, and also just the fact that they complete each other, with lucius being a sadist and draco a masochist), but his self control would start wearing even more thin, and could be a direct influence on it snapping as well.

but, of course, there would be some deep seated conflict inside of him as well. youve got the pure-blooded elitism and repression being disgusted that draco would share such a vital part of his sex life- as it is, this kind of information is to be shared with your lover, not your parents. the way that lucius was open about being a sadist with his wife(and who enjoyed it very much). and theres also the fatherly part of him that, in a way, is sad to find out about it. his son is growing up and maturing just before his very eyes!

however, the very same reminder of him maturing also just fuels his desire more. hes growing up, maturing, and even figuring himself out and, as such, is perfect "for the taking", if you get what i mean ;)

i would love to also go into what i have envisioned for the fic- but there are some things that i will keep to myself and not go into to keep for later into it. but, i will share some information that might fuel your interest, but are a bit spoiler-y imo:

draco was a virgin, and very inexperienced other than some crushes and some "relationships" that went as far as hand holding only. hes formal when it comes to relationships, after all, and wants to take it the "gentleman route", as his mother made sure to raise him into a gentleman lmao.

and, draco would have turned out a sadist himself, had his father not started abusing him. but, as it is, with the current point we are in the fic draco isnt sure about his own desires anymore, so we will see how his... "self exploration" that has been heavily tainted by his father goes!

When I love something and in general I think that it's important to take a little time to show appreciation. I mean, write a chapter could take days, a comment only some minutes. And since your fanfiction it's so twisted and detailed I think that let you know that you're on the right way is even more important! :D You don't need to thank me, it's a pleasure! It's not a problem of course, for you not to make spoilers because of my assumption! I totally accept it and I will patiently wait for more! Dude, Lucius' behaviour get even worse? Sign me the fu*ck up! lol I wanted to say something that I forgot to mention in my review. I don't know if it's wanted or casual, but I love how absolutely contradictory your Malfoy's family is. I mean, they hate Muggles and yet like to visits their places, eat their food and drink their stuffs. It made me think of appearances and lies, the falsehoods that often hide the wealthy and upper-class families, that want to appear perfect but have a lot of skeletons in their closet. And this obviously connects to Lucius too, that is like "Look at me, I I am a refined and respectable man" but then he lusts after his own son even in a violent and brutal way. (excuse my wall of text, what summed up means? lol)

I'm going to look for other bugs in your ff then ;) I had listened that song and I loved it!! It's even perfect for their relationship. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but in the end of the fourth book, Lucius talks to Voldemort about "the face he have been obliged to present since his absence. That is his true mask".

Your story starts during the summer break before the fifth year so it's perfectly fitting!

i will admit, i did not have that scene in mind when i started writing it :P but im incredibly pleased to hear that it fits hehe, that was my goal after all. i just went by my blurry memory of the events, as i read the books years ago, and thought "yeah he'd lose it here" and all i did was set the stage.

ah!!! im so glad you did! while for that specific part i did do some extra research, i do myself love moths and such critters!!! ESPECIALLY moths. they can be just soooo incredibly symbolic, especially to the story, so i recommend keeping an eye out for any other bugs that might appear :P
