So apparently in one version Thetys (wife of Oceanus) raised Hera
But also I keep seeing that Hera raised Thetis (the nereid) which is Thetys’s granddaughter and idk I think it’s pretty full circle.

you know how water gods are often shapeshifters in greek mythology? how they are able to take many forms to reflect the ever-changing nature of water?
well. all i'm gonna say is it would be interesting if odysseus came back to ithaka a little bit...wrong. cold skin and damp hair and eyes that can't quite decide if they're gray-blue or brown. athena isn't the only one with the power to disguise people, after all, and who's the say that beggar was ever odysseus in the first place?

Thetis visits Achilles:
Thetis: So Patroclus, you live here?
Patroclus: Yes, we live together.
Thetis: So you are a couple?
Achilles: Mom, I told you many times that we just live together!
(3 days later)
Patroclus: Achilles, I don't wanna say that your mother did it, but ever since she visited I can't find those gold plates.
Achilles: That's strange, I'll ask her.
(On the phone)
Achilles: Look mom, I don't wanna say you did it but ever since you visited we can't find the gold plates. Do you know something?
Thetis: Look son, I don't wanna say that you and Patroclus are fucking, but I will say it because if he actually slept on his own bed he would find the plates under his pillow!
Achilles:.....
Achilles: Fuck!

Just imagine how different the story would have been if Thetis had been supportive of Achilles’ relationship with Patroclus.
Thetis: “What? You tell me Hector KILLED Patroclus? HOW DARE HE HURT MY SON IN LAW”
Thetis: “Okey Achilles I get it, you want to die and go see Patroclus, but let me take care of Hector for you and then I’ll go talk to Hades, I hear he’s quite fond of lyre-playing guys, I’m sure he’ll give us Patroclus back.”
Thetis: “Oh and honey, sleeping with a dead body is just a little weird, maybe go fight that river god over there as a distraction?”
