Mastersona Profile for NA
Leaf (Angeles) Teresita Carlsen
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sex: Female (she/her/they/it)
Age: 23 (start of the Grand Order)
Region: Southwest US (Tentatively Snowfield, NV)
Alignment: lawful neutral → chaotic neutral/good
Height: 164 mm
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personality:
If someone compared her to an animal, she would be known as a coyote. Or, to those in Europe, a wily rabbit. Her reserved attitude, punctuated by deflecting jokes, advice, or redirection away from her concerns, can be off-putting to some. If someone tried prying into her business, they would be quickly derailed to whatever else held their interest.
However, that did not mean she could not speak earnestly to others. If anyone shared an interest with her, they would have their ears talked off. If they needed advice or time, she would provide. Her lilt of tone is deep and warm, often varying in speed depending on how both she and her audience were feeling.
Initially, she can appear formal in her speech, but over time, if she becomes comfortable enough, her southwestern accent can leak through. She is also rather thorough at remembering what someone likes or dislikes from her chats with them. It is her main way of leeching information from people, determining if they intend to harm her or not.
If she offers you homemade food, consider yourself in the latter camp. But please understand that being cramped into a building makes her chafe, so you are not going to see her around much. She is often either in Chaldea’s simulator, taking hikes to calm her nerves, or off exploring the nooks and crannies of the building.
One issue given by her servants in an anonymous survey is her habit of avoiding people, highlighting her preference towards their mounts, Tarrasque and Fafnir in particular.
One servant recalls seeing her meticulously scrub the scales of both beasts in a newly-minted hot spring facility, stating they were both concerned for her and mildly jealous of the attention she gave to them. Another, strangely with the same penmanship, notes that if you stumble across her while she’s doing something private, her tone will be icy and frank. Odd. A final, ranting note, details in exasperation how she is seemingly impervious to being horny, and how...[redacted]
Her room is decked with gifts given to her by her servants friends, but her own belongings show her homesickness, in colors, patterns, tools, and the few photos brought along with her. Mostly, it is a neat room organized to the nines, with a tablet filled to the brim on folk tales, history, and mythology. Look harder, and those items tend towards tales of dragons, flight, and medicine, with the occasional cookbook on using chocolate, herbs, mushrooms, and chili peppers in dishes. Try not to let her find you here without her.
Should anyone become close to her, Leaf would become protective enough to gamble even her life for them, if only to ensure she would not be alone again.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Motives / Attitude Towards Servants:
Leaf, despite her curse-laden circuits given to her by a mage desperate for an heir, does wish to quietly aid in the betterment of humanity. Her primary motive is to survive, secondary to finding someone who accepts her, curse and all. She is only human, after all.
Due to how hostile some people were whenever they discovered the sight of her circuits, she grew a distaste for the word “justice,” thanks to how often it was thrown around as an excuse to hurt her. But even then, a small part of her still whispered it wanted to be of help to people who sorely needed it. Thus, her intentions to join Chaldeas as a mere backup. Surely they would not need her beyond a few times…
Being from the United States, the words “master” and “servant” carry severe baggage that had her grimacing whenever it was tossed around. Yes, it may be the proper terminology regarding the relationship between a ghost-liner and a mage, but it did not sever her distaste for them.
Contractor, partner, chief, boss, friend, anything but master.
These were people from the beyond who agreed to appear to aid humanity in its time of need – let her be their gracious host who shows proper gratitude to them whenever appropriate. So, to her, servants were her responsibility and coworkers foremost. But, given the circumstances, it would not be until after humanity was restored where she would open up completely to them.
According to her, she was just their conduit, their mana anchor to save the world.
Nothing more.
That is why those who stayed after the Timeless Temple broke her into tears, not of grief, but of happiness.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Background:
Leaf (the pen name given to the organization Chaldeas) was selected in 2016 as one of many backup masters after donating blood before one odd job interview. Specifically known as master candidate 48, she was designated as a subordinate of Team A’s Daybit Sem Void, partly out of her own familiarity towards the civilizations of the Americas and partly due to aberrations discovered in her blood analysis.
Her estimated work involved advisory and aid towards any and all members of Team A; no extensive field work or servant contact was expected of her. Just the kind of work one would ask a secretary to conduct. Since she arrived late, exhausted beyond her capacity to resist sleep, she was unable to make contact with her senior Daybit.
Needless to say, having all other master candidates become incapacitated aside from her shocked her to her core. As the mantle of “Last Master of Humanity” fell onto her shoulders in this universe, it would become terribly difficult to continue hiding the reasons behind her blood results: her adopted magic circuits which allowed her to manipulate blood within and without all organisms. Not to mention the gnawing cries of a foreign entity dead-set on becoming one with all the world, echoing in the back of her mind.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speech Examples:
“Ahem, I know this sounds terribly rude, but enlighten me, will you? Are you some sort of mercenary voyeurist?” - to Servant Siegfried when initially summoned in Fuyuki, much to his embarrassment.
“You’re that enamored with my camera? Keep it then. You can show me the photos you’ve taken as payment if you insist.” - to Saint Georgios, post-Orleans singularity.
“Geronimo, Medb intended to make North America her play-nation after killing everyone there, native or not! Why should I continue contracting with them?!” - A parley between her and Geronimo, post-E. Pluribus Unum. Successful, for those curious.
“Maybe someday I will tell some of them – but-they-already-have-the-world-on-their-plates, so please...keep this between us? I’ll make sure to procure the best slices of strawberry cake just for you in return.” - to Acting Director Romani Archaman, regarding her condition.
“Mash, if this is truly how you want to spend the rest of your life...let’s make sure you spend it in full. No regrets, aye?” - to Mash, during the Timeless Temple Arc.
“Oh! You’re wondering where I was earlier? I look pale? Damn! Being holed up in this building’s really done a number on me, hasn’t it?! Thanks for your concern, I was just wandering around. But how about you? We could scamper off to the kitchen, badger the employees into letting us use the equipment, make some Margherita like we did on that island one time~! How ‘bout it?” - to Marie Antoinette, during the Epic of Remnant Arc
“Quetzalcoatl, to think I’d even be able to speak, let alone work with you...I have so much to ask you! That is, if you don’t mind being asked by the daughter of an invader…” - to Quetzalcoatl, beginning of the Epic of Remnant Arc.
“Abigail, if you can hear me, know this: you aren’t alone in your suffering. I’ll get you back, I’ll make sure of it!” - to [redacted], Salem singularity. Several body abnormalities detected before loss of contact.
“You have no idea how much – how badly I’ve missed you!” - to Siegfried, upon being resummoned in Novum Chaldea and immediately embraced by a blubbering Leaf.
“Apologizing? When that same version of you fought Surtr internally to the point where you kept him from stabbing my neck?! No! I should be thanking you instead!” - to a baffled Sigurd in Novum Chaldea
“You shouldn’t be here.” - [redacted]

i think they released that statement just to be like 'hey it's taking long but we're seeing into things'' because nothing much was said. to be honest it must be really hard trying to organize everything considering the main victim that came out said they didn't want an apology (correct me if im wrong but i remember reading it somewhere) so trying to figure out a plan to work this out must be incredibly hard for them. i just selfishly hope they don't cancel gose lmao
yeah, i understand. it was a 10 paragraph statement that didn’t really say anything. i also don’t really trust pledis to actually do their research here -- what’s motivating them to just pretend like they’re working on this for the next week and hope everyone forgets about it?

Little Witch - Part 13
The Darkling x Reader
This is more of a filler chapter, I wanted to write something where reader is in action🤭
Tumblr media
As much as you loved to keep your personal and work life separate, the life at the Little Palace rarely allowed for such things. Rumors spread and tensions rose and much to your dismay the privacy of Aleksander's chambers only reached so far. Everywhere you went eyes followed you with a sense of interest, poking and prodding for the details of why the Deputy General had stayed in the Darkling's quarters, but more importantly why you raced out of there in the dead of the night, slamming every door possible with loud echoing thuds.
You ignored it all, you had work to do. Currently, you stood waiting in the courtyard for your horses, your recruited Grisha in tow. You had asked Fedyor for the best soldiers, ones who could be ruthless and loyal. Two Heartrenderers, an Inferni and the Squaller you now knew as Zoya waited behind you, shivering from a sudden gust of freezing wind.
The weather had gotten brutal over the past few days but this mission couldn't wait. You had gotten intel that somehow a Kerch merchant kidnapped Grisha while they traveled between camps and was keeping them in a home not far from the Palace, waiting to transport them across the Fold and use them as indentures. This angered you beyond means of explanation.
Your stableboy brought out your beautiful chestnut brown Arabian, and you quickly hoisted yourself up. You would all be going on horseback despite the weather, for a carriage would slow you down significantly.
'Zoya, I'll need you upfront with me, if it starts to snow heavily we'll clear the way.' You addressed the Squaller, patiently waiting as she got up on her horse and came to rest beside you, giving you a curt nod.
'Ready?'
You brought your horse into a quick gallop, cringing as the cold whipped past you.
******
Riding a horse was only comfortable for so long before your tailbone began to ache. It had been around an hour, but you were almost there as a small village came into view over the hill. You stopped your horse and put up your hand signaling the rest to stop too.
'We leave our horses just there, where the forest fades-' You pointed over to a place just to your right, where tree coverage would protect your horses from the cold. '-we walk the rest of the way. All intel pointed to the house being secluded, most likely right before the village grows more populated.'
The thing with these missions was there was never an exact location, which frustrated you and from the loud sigh Zoya gave, it frustrated everyone else too. You all slid off your horses and walked them to the forest, tying them securely to trees and beginning the walk, making sure to stay hidden behind the trees.
'What's the plan?' Asked the Inferni.
'I go in first, neutralize any threats I can see. Fedyor, keep to my side but be behind me. The rest of you, your main priority is to look for the Grisha. Don't kill anybody unless I tell you to.' You could see the surprised look on their faces and you knew why.
Even though Aleksander was extremely powerful and immortal, he never walked into a fight first, he was always the one to walk into a clear path, never cleared it himself. You did things differently, liked to be in complete control.
'What did the General say about this?' He spoke again.
You stopped and turned to him.
'If you have any issues with how your superior is commanding the missions, I suggest you turn around and learn how to be a soldier.' You snapped. Aleksander had these people wrapped around his finger. He stared at you with wide eyes and almost immediately his composure dropped, succumbing to your intimidation.
'I don't have time for this nonsense.' You scoffed and walked ahead to where Zoya was searching for the hideout.
'Is it that one?' She pointed to a cabin about with a man guarding the front door. Bingo.
'He's too far, I need to get closer.' Fedyor's raised hands dropped down to his sides. The other Corporalnik nodded in agreement.
You turned away from the group and concentrated on the man, feeling for his pulse and once you gathered the understanding, gently stopped The flow of blood, watching as he fell to the snow-covered ground with a thud.
'Don't take offense, I'm much older' You patted the Heartrenders on the shoulders and ran to the cabin. You saw Zoya let out a strong gust of wind to open the door, almost knocking it off its hinges.
Shouts erupted all around and shots were fired. You bled shadows into the hallway, rendering the Kerch men blind, hoping they wouldn't shoot in the dark. Simultaneously, you slowed the heartbeats you could make out, hoping the shouts died down. With luck on your side, the cabin turned silent and you retreated your shadows.
Three men dressed in fine vests lay slumped on the floor, a pistol or rifle in each hand. Fedyor automatically bent down to take the guns out of their hands and looked around for something to detain them with. You could hear the rest of your crew search the cabin, the loud squeak of the cellar latch opening. You too went to look around, opening all the doors that could open and listening for the beating of one's heart. Nothing.
You grew angry at the possibility of the intel being incorrect. You came to the last door on the far end of the home which was slightly ajar. You could feel a faint pulse and as you opened the door, ready to protect yourself when your eyes caught sight of a purple kefta. A Fabrikator? The figure didn't move from where they were standing. Their hands weren't bound and neither were their legs.
'Are you here with the Second-Army?' Her voice was quiet but steady.
'Yes. Come with me' You moved away from the doorframe and into the hallway once again to let the Grisha through.
'Who are you?'
'Deputy General, now come on we must get going' You heard Zoya indicate from the cellar that they had found the Healer.
She moved away from the wall and walked to you with her head down, showing no indication of being thankful for being saved. Doubt pooled in your stomach but you let it go. You returned to the main room and stared at the three men tied up in the chairs but quickly averted your eyes to Zoya who appeared perplexed and for once, you shared her thoughts. The Inferni walked out with the Healer behind him and what looked like a Squaller to his right but nobody said anything. What is going on?
'Is anybody injured?' You spoke first amongst the crippling silence. Nobody responded. Suddenly out of the corner of your eye you saw the Fabrikator take one of the disposed pistols and point it at you, not hesitating to take shots. You deflected as best you could, protecting the others from the bullets but quickly realized the girl was a Durast and wherever she wanted to shoot, she could definitely make the shot.
You looked around and to your surprise, your Inferni was lying on the ground as the Healer battled Zoya. Fedyor was seemingly pushed up against the wall by the Squaller. What in Saint's name is going on. These are not my Grisha. Your falter caused your shadow shield to break and you felt a cold bullet lodge itself in your thigh where your kefta peeked open.
The pain was too strong, clouding your mind and momentarily prohibiting you from accessing your powers. Saints this hurts.
You reclaimed your mind, letting the merciless Cut wander out to her. The Durast screamed in horror as her hand dropped to the ground. You ignored it, letting your eyes wander to the Squaller and knocking her out with a wind so strong it rattled the cabin. Zoya managed to subdue the Healer, tacking to the ground and holding her hands above her head. You shot out a tendril of onyx shadow and restrained her, relieving Zoya of the uncomfortable position.
You were beyond angry, you were fuming. You harshly grabbed at the Durast, slamming her against the wall by the lapel of her kefta, your thigh screaming in pain. You could feel blood pooling in your riding boots.
'What is this?!' You hissed
'You're not taking us back. You will not force us to be part of that army'
'You would give up the Little Palace for the dirty streets of Ketterdam' The venom rolling off your tongue was almost paralyzing.
'If I am to serve your kind then of course. You're probably stealing my power as we speak' The room stilled and your pain was forgotten. Zoya held her breath, even the Healer's stomach dropped.
Something in you snapped, and with nothing more than a flex of your fingers, the girl's neck snapped, her lifeless body tumbling to the ground. You didn't say another word. Zoya took that as a sign to tell the rogue Grisha they will be tried as traitors, and restrained them both, taking over from you.
Your previous words came back into your mind, Don't kill anybody. You shame Aleksander for merciless killing yet you just did the same. You broke your own rule because somebody offended you. You fool.
You wordlessly limped out of the cabin, completely forgetting the bullet wound on your thigh.
***
The ride back to the Little Palace was torturous. The two traitors had been subdued and riding with the heartrenderes. Your thigh was in excruciating pain and upon entering the gates, you had felt completely numb. As far as you knew, nobody knew you were shot. You had left them to deal with the mess in the cabin, too blinded by anger and arrogance to help and act as the leader. But now, the only thing blinding you was tiredness which you knew wasn't good.
Your horse diligently walked to the courtyard doors but you didn't get off, you couldn't. Your eyes had shut on their own accord. The tiredness washed over you again and your head spun.
You could faintly make out the sound of your name being called by Fedyor asking about the traitors, but you paid him no mind, focusing all your attention on trying not to fall off your horse. Your head bopped, but you fought to stay awake and pass the wave of tiredness so you could walk to the healers unit, but it was relentless.
You felt somebody pull the reigns of your horse and lift the cloak covering your leg, you didn't argue. Then the shouts started. You couldn't hear what they said as your head bopped again, once, twice, then you let go.
****
The immense itching sensation on your thigh was overwhelming. If that wasn't the reason for you waking up, it was the loud argument taking place at the foot of the bed.
You managed to open your eyes to see a Healer working on your leg, looking very focused. She spared you a sweet smile then went right back to work. Oh Saint's this is so itchy. It took everything in you not to itch the bloody wound. Thankfully, the raised voices dragged your attention away.
'We didn't know, she just left!' Fedyor.
'If you'd have gotten here 10 minutes later she would have been dead' Aleksander.
'We thought she wa-'
'I don't care. Leave before I do something I regret' The door opened and shut. You suspected the only people left in the room were you, the Healer and a fuming Aleksander. If he knew you were awake, he showed no indication of it. You didn't need to look at him to know he was brooding. Was he mad that I'm injured or that the mission went sideways?
Your hands clenched as the itching sensation got worse. You hated being healed, it was even worse than being injured.
'If you clench that fist any harder you'll break your knuckles' His voice carried no anger anymore, it was soft but had an edge of plea in it.
You didn't respond. You didn't know what to say. You hadn't seen him since the other night when you confronted him about Alina, and he made no moves to approach you since then.
'I'll give you a written report mission once I'm done here.'
'No need. Zoya took care of it already' As much as you had tried to convince yourself you disliked the beautiful Squaller, she had really come in clutch today. You were thankful.
'Alright, that's all I can do for now. You did lose a lot of blood, so take it easy for the next couple of days.' The young girl got up and left after you muttered a quick thank you.
'Are you ok?'
'We just got ambushed by rogue Grisha who had personal vendettas against me, what do you think' You sat up and rested your head against the headboard, reaching for the glass of water on the nightstand.
'I should've cross-examined the intel. If I knew what they were I would've given you more reinforcements.' He leaned against the wall next to the door, sensing your hostility and keeping his distance
'I didn't need reinforcements. I was just caught off guard is all'
'You killed a-'
'Please, don't say it. , it wasn't my proudest moment.'
'Zoya kept it out of the report. Said she got caught in the cross-fire.'
I love you Zoya.
'Do you want me to leave?' His question made you freeze. On one hand, you were still angry about the other night and the comment he made, but on the other Aleksander always made you feel safe and his presence brought you peace.
'You probably have work to do. I do too anyway' You got up to leave the bed, but he quickly walked over to you, pushing you back down. You grabbed his hands out of reflex.
'Take it easy for the next couple of days. Is that not the advice you got?' He cocked a smile and traced a small pattern on your hand. You stared into his eyes and tried to find a reason to not fold into his embrace, you badly needed a hug, and he gives the best ones.
'Alright, but you can leave' Your answer surprised him, it surprised you too. Apparently subconsciously you still held a grudge against him.
'Y/N, Next time you get hit, please tell someone.' He whispered as he swooped down to kiss the top of your head lovingly, letting his lips linger for a moment. Just as you were about to give in and wrap your arms around him, his warmth left you.
'It won't kill you to take a day off.' He teased as he walked out the door.
I never got that hug.

Just here to say thank you for explaining in length on zzh's issue. Really appreciate it. It is painful and it is hard. At times it feels like I'm grieving. Thank you again and keep safe.
This is an ongoing update about the case from start to development. List of all related posts can be found on this blog's pinned post (link provided at bottom of each post as well).
Also an update as of 22.8.21.
Update: Updated an advice to all. Added an important NOT, added J's side (keep supporting him)
Hi anon,
You're welcome! ❤️
If it helps to make you feel better, the latest update in the Entertainment Industry (from all the sources I have) is that the Official Authorities have started to look into the the issue already, specifically towards Internet Water Army(IWA) and the bodies behind them.
Background
For newcomers of this blog (if any), please browse content page here for context.
Because of the nature of his case, especially the overnight deletion, it caused a lot of people (general public) to look into this issue. Many of whom also express the same general sentiment (that his shrine case was definitely not a light one, but it does not warrant such an outcome). Some people also got to learn about the cultural (the shrines), political aspects and the industry + IWA.
However, as the internet is flooded with IWA, their influence may still skew passerby opinions, therefore, those more easily influenced/doesn't know the whole landscape public might have their own other conclusion (a factor of concern for the govt). Though, generally the logical audiences wouldn't even bother engaging with those posts in the first place, it became more like an Be Educated thing than a criticising thing.
Cause
The Officials started to step in partly because of the timely political clash of dates, this created a concern among the Officials. They literally kind of attracted the Government's attention themselves.
So shoutout to those who have asked before if the Government will do something about it, the answer is yes, they are in the midst of doing it (so sorry again to the anon whom I blanked out and deleted the ask about it too).
Still, I'm just sacarstically laughing at the whole situation. What we thought was an end was actually just another beginning, caused by those people themselves, they targeted someone, and yet it got ricocheted back at them (after being around for 10 over years).
Other impacts
Another change this case brought about, is that the Entertainment Industry landscape is getting a huge change eg. checking their celebrity's background so that the staff can better prepare to deflect any allegations etc.
What it means for him
Despite knowing this is good news, am still unsure what this entails for him. We can still wait. But knowing that even though he is not in front of the camera now, the impact of his issue is still currently generally positive, it's a funny kind of joy. His fate really is something (for those who have read my fate series about JZ).
Regarding silence 🛌
Lastly, I've been wanting to raise this but didn't know how/where to insert/didn't quite understand fully at first, the reason for being silent is that the purpose of those behind IWA (or similar terms etc) is probably (i stress again as this was a guess from the source) that there is a wave of people who wants to find out the political sentiment from the public and govt - and they are possibly NOT even govt bodies doing this kind of checks in the first place. So now they are trying to use JZ fans as a shield to avoid the authorities from coming to them (through J as well) - a line of thought.
That's why don't click into any videos/posts/trends (eg. Bilibili, twitter, weibo, zhihu etc) because they can all be collected as data.
Same advice as usual, ignore. WOH is still up on Youku, J is still working, work/studies & life is still a part of your life.
Stay silent, and live life to the fullest. 🌻
Hope this helped brightened your day a bit :)
Other details

---
Was thinking really hard if i should do a dedicated post on this, but tbh I got paranoid at some point on the IWA on Tumblr issue LOL (because of certain active login records in my account - but later kind of realised that I had a bunch of dead side blogs havent touched for years - I only use my main and this was created for JZ, so bots and buying of followers probably used my account to access my dead blogs or something, about 8 or 9 overseas login LOL to follow nonsense accounts, immediately logged them all out and did all my 2FA what not, do your 2FA guise!).
Was in between wanting to share more so more people know, while at the same time got paranoid over the tags LOL and pondering how silent should I be.
So thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts, it bridged a platform for my own questions. :) Hope it made you and everyone else at least a bit more hopeful to wait 💛

On Jealousy
I owe this analysis/answer to an anon ask which I've accidentally posted, though only with the introduction sentence and then couldn't retrieve.🙈
Dear anon, this analysis is dedicated to you.
I HOPE YOU SEE THIS!!! 🙏🏻💫🙏🏻
Thank you @sin-with-quiche for proofreading and @lunabai78 for the spiritual support 💕💕💕
---—-----—
We have quite a number of moments in our journey with Gavin... Some are funny, some are cute, some are...mmm over the edge
(。-ω-)ノ
If you ask me whether Gavin is a jealous man, I would give you two answers:
1) Pre and early relationship... Absolutely!
2) Established relationship... The fitting colloquial term is "territorial".
In order to look at Gavin's attitude towards other males and whether to categorize them as jealous behaviour or not, first we need to describe jealousy .
Jealousy generally refers to the thoughts or feelings of insecurity, fear, and concern over a relative lack of possessions or safety.
The word stems from the French jalousie, formed from jaloux (jealous), and further from Low Latin zelosus (full of zeal), in turn from the Greek word ζήλος (zēlos), sometimes "jealousy", but more often in a positive sense "emulation, ardour, zeal" (with a root connoting "to boil, ferment"; or "yeast").
As you can see, there are different set of emotions that might boil or ferment the reaction of jealousy in one's belly.
My personal take on this is that jealousy arises from two simple things 1) Lack of self-confidence 2) Lack of trust towards one's partner (in terms of romantic jealousy). You don't get jealous when you know you're one hell-of-a-mate and are with the right person. Which is why as we will see in a minute Gavin fits the bill at the beginning but afterwards his jealousy isn't actually jealousy at all!
So which sets of emotions lead to his jealous behaviour and in which conjuncture?
We know that Gavin is completely attuned to MC. This also applies for his reaction towards the presence of other guys around her. So the type of jealousy he displays is attuned to MCs type of reaction to the source of his jealousy. He observes MCs aura and attitude carefully and then reacts in an either desirous, protective, territorial or downright pouty manner.
If he sees the person is overstepping their boundaries like TNTs Tyson or the guys catcalling her during Romantic Date, he gets protective. If he sees someone from his inner cycle being only the slightest overfamiliar with MC as in his phone call with Eli, he gets territorial and draws boundaries. If he gets ditched by MC and walks on her having lunch with another guy all the while she's being touched by him and she's not showing any protest, he pouts in the corner and stabs MC with his words "Too much of anything can get boring after a while" (love this moment and how Joe delivers this line with a strong tonation on the word - boooring-)
If he sees the person is actually drawing MCs attention, well... This is where we can look more into. Because this is actually a stereotypical example of making one jealous. Seeing your love interest with another person in an over-friendly manner.
In Trio Date, he worries that MC might have a crush on Kiro and a close relationship with him. Which is understandably an alarming situation for him, because he isn't that close to her himself and Kiro is... well... Kiro. Pretty much everyone's into him 🌟. But Gavin doesn't show any aggression or envy towards Kiro. On the contrary, he praises him for his charm and even says that he can see what people mean by that as in confessing to being charmed by Kiro himself. I really praise how elegant Gavin acts in the face of this situation 👑 Needless to say, it's a Gavin date, meaning the canon couple in this scenario is Gavin x MC (On a side note pretty bold and disrespectful of PG to put another LI in the supporting male role in a date for another tbh) And also RIP Chandler, the poor guy didn't do anything wrong ^_^
At this point I need to let one thing out of my chest though. I can't say that I appreciate him telling MC when and where to wear revealing clothes <spoiler alert> only for him. Even though we don't actually see him seriously forbidding her to wear them I think it would be better to leave her be the judge of it. But considering the fact that she gets catcalled even at his presence I can kinda see why Gavin gets protective here. On a side note, his girlfriend isn't better on this matter either. MC covers Gavin's body at the beach during 2021 summer event in CN server so that other girls don't drool over him 🤣 These two have some homework to do in that department I tell you that 😅
In the more mature phases of their relationship, we no longer see Gavin feeling himself threatened by the presence of another male. AT ALL! All Gavin jealousy after this point is only because someone is overstepping their boundaries and making "his girl" uncomfortable.
Gavin might be the one acting jealous the most frequently among the LIs, but he never ever gets possessive over her, limits her freedom or makes unconfirmed self proclaims on behalf of her. Being possessive over someone objectifies them and the moment you objectify a person, you no longer need to be in a relationship with them tbh. Leaving your partner room to breathe and respecting their personal space is important and Gavin does this the best alongside with Kiro. We also never see Kiro getting possessive, limiting or doing anything of that nature with MC.
Further in their relationship Gavin still acts jealous, but in an extremely cute, pure and harmless way. Be it against prankster ghosts, animals she's met in the middle of the desert, a wild child, service dogs, birds and co. Basically anyone and anything that diverts her attention from him for more than a nanosecond can be perceived as a threat but an adult male 😂At his core, Gav-babe wants MC all for himself but his jealousy is actually only adorkable.
(´∀`)♡
In the main story, however, there is a certain LI which becomes the magnet for Gavin's firsthand jealousy and even kinda provokes this. And this is actually what I am dying to write about in this post😈. It only happens at the beginning of the story, but I love it so much and therefore it must be in this post.
Gavin shows signs of jealousy towards one particular LI at various occasions and that is...
Tumblr media
Gavin shows obvious signs of jealousy towards our genius scientist and that is completely understandable! Lucien is the one who makes his advances first and is the most straightforward one throughout the main story. Plus, he lives right next to MC and, let's be honest here, is the only one who toys with MC's poor hormones the most. Just to give one example:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gavin and MC don't become quite a couple before CH12 and S1 Gavin has some issues with self-worth and confidence (towards MC). When he meets MC again after 6 years, he is perplexed and is fairly clueless as to how to approach her romantically. Lest Gavin making the wrong moves, he acts weirdly around MC which further confuses her. Gav-babe is really weird at the beginning of the story 😅
The first time we see Gavin getting jealous about Lucien is in CH2, when he and MC spend a prolonged period of time for the first time as they investigate the time warping incident. Our birdcop is hopelessly in love with MC so when he sees her become so red on the phone with another person, he gets worked up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fun trivia, Joe's reaction to this moment can be found here
The second instance is when MC spends two nights in a row with Lucien in CH5 and then falls asleep in her office.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is crucial to remember at this point that up to CH5, MC seems to be most romantically involved with Lucien and spends most of her time with him. LuLu mercilessly teasing her and flirting with her doesn't help much in that sense either because he is actively making advances on her. Thus announcing his candidacy for "Mr. Love". So when Gavin catches MC spending nights following Lucien, having phone calls with him, living right next door to him, working closely with him and blushes because of him, it's fairly understandable that our birdcop gets fairly jealous because at that point in the story Lucien seems to have a better shot at love with her than he does.
Btw, MC flatlines on his question as to who is the resource of her flustering this time around and doesn't explain herself ;)
Interestingly though, in the third instance, where Gavin sees MC and Lucien, he isn't jealous at all! In the famous "Rude Awakening" moment, the vibes we get at first is as if Gavin walks in to MC and Lucien. But actually our protective boyfriend is there to save MCs life. What's more, he doesn't give credit to Lucien's provocations, such as when he calls Gavin "dangerous" or pulls MC behind him, stays extremely close to her and plays the "protective boyfriend" in front of him. On Gavin's defense, the one actually saves MCs life and protects her is Gavin here as he deflects the bullet shot at her.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Furthermore, he asks Lucien to take MC home, albeit not before telling her that he will be contacting her later, signaling to Lucien that he shouldn't stick along for long. A highly subtle way of "marking his territory", much like a wolf would. God I love this scene both in the main story and in the anime.
It is necessary to mention at this point that the chapter following this scene revolves around Gavin and MC clearing all kinds of misunderstandings between them and MC trying to bind with him. Hence laying the first stones in the temple of their relationship. After that point we no longer see Gavin showing any kind of jealousy towards anyone. So mark CH7 people ;)
----—-----—-----—
You know what I would love to see? Gavin getting jealous over Shaw. I wonder whether he even knows that MC spends time with him 🤔 Too bad that PG has left the idea "brother conflict".
If you would like to read another perspective on this, Cheri has posted her analysis here

(I hadn’t planned on writing a follow up to this fic, but I kept thinking about what would happen next and therefore this happened.)
It was later in the day when Beau finally caught up with Kingsley again, hangover mostly gone and jobs winding down on the ship. Things had proceeded as normal that morning outside of the initial outburst, but as the day went on Beau had noticed Kingsley getting quieter and quieter, already unusual on its own but downright concerning after what had happened last night and this morning. She had no idea what was even running through the tiefling’s head right now, but based on what he’d yelled right after waking up? It was probably an unholy mess. Just trying to sort it out made her head hurt, and it wasn’t even her head.
She really hoped he could be okay, at least.
“Hey,” Beau said as she came up next to Kingsley at the edge of the ship, resting her forearms on the rail and looking over at him. He didn’t acknowledge her at first, continuing to stare out at the ocean and arms crossed as he leaned on the rail. She waited. If he wanted to talk, he would, and if not, she could at least give him some company.
It was around six minutes before Kingsley finally spoke up.
“You know,” Kingsley said, voice soft and a little rough from disuse, “for as much shit as I give you, we make a pretty good fighting team. It went better than the last time like that at least.” He reached up and rubbed at the scar on his chest and Beau’s heart clenched.
Jumping right into it it seemed. Shit.
“You remember that?” If he was going to jump in she might as well too, but her stomach still lurched at that particular memory. Memories which he apparently had now too, with no warning what so ever. No wonder he’d been so quiet today.
“Yeah. I-I think so.” His hands were shaking slightly. “Remembering’s pretty different than reading your book.”
He threw his hands up in the air. “And I know we've had plenty of times fighting bad guys together. That was just the first time I've been...” He trailed off, seemingly unable to finish the thought out loud. Instead he just huffed, going back to the rail.
“How you holding up? That’s... a lot, man.” Understatement of the year, but how do you even start to address something like that? (Something niggled at her, that there was more to it than remembering dying, but she couldn’t quite place it. She put a pin in the thought for later.)
“Honestly?” He scrubbed at his eyes for a few moments before dragging his hand down his face. “No fucking clue. And... yeah. It’s a lot.” Kingsley blew out a long breath and then groaned, planting his elbows on the rail and burying his face in hands. “This sucks.”
“You got that right.”
Beau let him have another few minutes, watching as some seabirds wheeled overhead in the afternoon sky and a few wispy clouds drifted on the horizon. At one point Fjord caught her eye from another part of the deck and he almost came over but she waved him off, not wanting Kingsley to have to deal with too many people at once. Eventually Kingsley shifted to prop his chin on his hand and Beau decided she'd be the one to break the silence this time.
“Do you remember anything else? Besides-” she gestured to the scar on his chest- “that?” His reactions this morning implied that he did, but it'd be better to hear it from Kingsley himself. He glanced over, straightening up and rubbing the back of his neck.
“Some? A lot? It’s hard to tell when I don't know how much there is to begin with. It... matches what Yasha's told me at least.”
Beau’s heart rate sped up a little. Those comments he’d made this morning about suddenly having two names, about possibly making Molly his middle name now, she forced herself to actually look at that. That niggling thought she’d had earlier got stronger.
“Anything in particular you’re wondering about?” Maybe a bit on the leading side, but probably harmless (and she really wanted to figure this out). She leaned forward a little.
Unfortunately for her, Kingsley picked up on her weird vibe and gave her a confused squint, leaning back the same distance. Fuck. So much for harmless.
“Nnnooo? What the hell are you on about?”
“Nothing! Just curious.” That just made him squint at her even harder. Ugh, Dairon would have given her so much shit for this, she wasn’t used to trying to interrogate a friend. A second later Beau realized the ‘interrogate’ part was the problem and she forced herself to relax. She was here to try and help her friend out. And fuck, why did he have to look so much like a kicked puppy when he was upset? That should have been illegal. She let out an exasperated noise.
“Okay, fine, seeing you so quiet and moody is fucking weird. And I wanted to find out what was up.” There. She’d said it.
“Nice to know I usually have the emotional depth of a teacup,” he deadpanned.
“Oh fuck off. You know what I meant.”
Kingsley cocked his head, just staring back as she glowered and eventually he shrugged. “Alright. What is it?”
“Something’s obviously eating at you.”
“And?”
“Captive audience if you want to rant a bit.” Kingsley raised an eyebrow at the captive part and Beau rolled her eyes. “Not literally. I'll still listen.”
“You? Willingly listening to me?” Back to being an asshole. And an obvious attempt to deflect if she’d ever seen it.
“Yeah. Shocking.” She didn't move, the wind blowing a few stray hairs around her face and Kingsley’s hair tossed about as well while he thought.
“How about this.” He crossed his arms. “You guys going to treat me differently now that I remember stuff from Molly?”
Beau froze.
She wanted to say ‘of course not.’ She should say of course not. But she still remembered that morning, when confronted with yelling purple teifling and memories of the death match fresh in her head, she’d called him Molly.
“Not unless you want us to.” The wind picked up a little and she rubbed at her arms, trying to chase away the gooseflesh. Beau wasn’t sure if it was just the wind.
Kingsley gave her a flat look, red eyes unblinking. “Really.”
“Yes, really. You’re our friend. You.” She hoped that was the right thing to say at least.
“So you guys weren’t disappointed at all when you got me?” He looked at her while leaning his back against the rail, arms still crossed and tail lashing back and forth. Beau suddenly remembered that even if he'd never reached the uncanny level that Caduceus was at, Molly had still been surprisingly good at reading people. And, apparently, Kingsley was too. Fuck.
She sighed and looked down. It felt crappy to admit, but she had to be honest. “Yeah, that'd be a bit of a lie. Still wouldn't justify taking it out on you though.” Her fingers dug into her upper arm. “What matters is who you are now. Trying to force you to be someone you don't want to be is just shitty.” She looked back up at him.
A few more connections came together in her head. She had to know.
“Do... you still consider yourself and Molly to be two separate people, now that you have the memories?” Beau knew as soon she said the words out loud that she’d finally hit on the crux of the issue and Kingsley outright flinched. She mentally scrambled backwards. Shit fuck shit- “You don't have to answer,” she added on quickly, “it's not my business.”
Kingsley hugged himself tightly, looking down and tail coiled around his leg. She felt like her heart was about to beat out of her chest.
"I don't know," he said, so quietly that Beau almost missed it. He didn’t look up.
“You don’t have to,” she said. “It’s okay to not know. And like I said it’s none of my business.” (And yet she’d still asked the question. Great job, Beau.)
“It’s just-” He let out a frustrated noise. “This morning, right after I woke up, with all the yelling?” His heel tapped on the deck, jittery. “I was him, mentally. Probably why it didn’t bother me then. But then of course I had to have a bunch of time to fucking think.” Kingsley hunched over a little, looking smaller. “Now it just scares the shit out of me.”
There it was. The answer to why Kingsley had been so out of it all day, and all it did was make her feel like a nosy asshole.
Beau let out a shaky breath, taking another moment to look at the ship around them. For better or worse they were completely alone right then, save for a couple of the seabirds still flying over head. Think. What could she say right now that might be able to help? She’d just exposed some terrifying personal bullshit on accident, so... maybe she could let him see some of her own personal bullshit? Even the scales a little.
“I know it’s not really the same situation, but...” Inhale, exhale. It was okay to talk to him about this. “I’ve talked to you about my shitty dad before, right?”
Kingsley nodded. “Yeah, I know about the shitbag. Still think he could use some extra stabbing.”
Beau couldn’t help but smile a little at that. They really were all ride or die for each other.
“Not gonna disagree with you. The reason I bring him up is-” She sighed. “Main problem he had is he wanted me to be someone I’m not. So focused on the ‘should have been’ and the idea in his head that he ignored the person right in front of him. Well. Still payed enough attention to be awful.” Kingsley was quiet, listening, and Beau gathered the rest of her thoughts.
“Guess what I’m trying to say is I know how awful expectations like that can be. And that’s the last thing I’d want to do to you, okay? And I’ll fucking deck anyone who does that.”
“Even if that person is me?”
What.
Beau was left speechless for a moment, completely unprepared for that response. That was. What??? “Okay, you’re gonna have to explain that one to me. The fuck?”
He shrugged. “Are you gonna deck me? For having unreasonable expectations about myself?” The end of his tail tapped against his boot and Beau just stared at him. “That sounds like what you’re saying.”
“That’s not what I fucking- ugh!” She gave a frustrated tug at the hair on the top of her head, some of it coming out of her hairstyle. “What I’m trying to say you asshole is that the only thing that matters is who YOU want to be and that’s the end of it! Fucking hell!” Her words caught up with her and Beau deflated a bit. “Ahhh shi- fuck-” her face screwed up. “I’m sorry. That came out completely wrong. Sorry. Shit!” Why did she have to be so bad at this?
“N-nah, I get it,” Kingsley said, looking away and cheeks flushing. “And I was pretty shit with what I was trying to say too.” He scratched the back of his head. “And, uh, thanks. For saying that. Really.”
He leaned back, propping his elbows on the rail behind him and hair partially falling in his face. “I guess what I was trying? To say? Is that other people aren’t the issue for me. It’s my own head that’s the mess.” He sighed.
“I like being me, you know? I’m happy. But...” He went quiet again, chewing on his lip.
“But?”
He looked directly at her.
“What the hell am I supposed to do when I can’t even tell what ‘me’ is?”
Just hearing that made her go cold.
“That’s... fuck, dude.”
“You think?” He lurched up and started pacing next to the rail, Beau watching as he went back and forth, tail swishing side to side and one hand gesturing, the other tangled in his hair. “I went to bed as Kingsley Tealeaf, that’s me. Fine, dandy! Then last night we fight in a death match, and there? Mollymauk Tealeaf! Also great! But now?”
He stopped pacing, hands falling to his side. Slumped against the rail. “I don’t know. If I think about picking, ditching one of them, I’m terrified. Not a conscious thing, just thinking about it, makes me scared.” Hugged himself. “But I’m also scared that trying to hold onto both might make me lose ‘me’ anyway. I just. I don’t know.”
He was quiet for several more seconds, eventually raking both his hands through his hair at once and staring up at the sky. “What the fuck am I going to do now?” he breathed out.
“You want an actual answer to that, or you just thinking out loud?”
It slipped out before Beau could stop herself and she had a small moment of panic. This was the kind of stuff Caduceus was good at, not her, but at the same time? She was the person who was actually here right now. And she still wanted to do right by her friend. Somehow.
Kingsley blinked and then barked out a laugh, one hand staying tangled in his hair and the other going back to the rail as the looked over to Beau. “Do you have an answer Scribbles? Or are you just bullshitting?”
“Psht, that’s your job,” Beau said, rolling her eyes, and she noticed him relax a little at the jab. Good. “But, honestly?” She thought it over for a moment. “You do what you want to. And I’m not bullshitting you,” she said, raising her hands in front of her at the look he gave her. “You do what you want. It doesn’t have to be complicated.”
He blinked at her a couple more times. Dread squirmed in her stomach, wondering if she’d fucked up her advice giving again, but she forced herself to calm down. “Just think about it. What you might want to do next.”
She could practically see the process of him thinking for the next few minutes, holding still and his eyes distant. Eventually he made a thoughtful noise, hands coming up to steeple in front of his chin and a glint coming into his eyes.
“Does that mean whatever I want?”
“Okay, now you’re just being an ass,” Beau said and Kingsley broke out into a grin. Maybe she hadn’t completely fucked this up.
“Takes one to know one Scribbles.”
“You know what, I might just deck you anyway-”
“I’d like to see you tr- actually, no, you definitely could,” Kingsley said, backpedaling and raising his hands in front of him as his brain caught up with his mouth and seeing Beau raising a fist. She couldn’t keep it up however and soon enough she was grinning too, Kingsley breathing a sigh of relief. At which point she socked him in the shoulder.
“OW!” He hissed out between his teeth, rubbing his shoulder. “Did you have to do it that hard?”
“If I meant to hit you hard, you’d know.” Beau held her fist in the air. “Trust me.“
He eyed the raised fist. “You guys are still terrifying.”
“Hey, that includes you, don’t sell yourself short.” She paused, mulling over her next question. It’d be better for her to know, she decided. “The memories you have from the death match, of... earlier Molly stuff. Do you want me to refer to that as happening to you? Or someone else?”
Kingsley’s face screwed up like he’d bitten into something sour. “Case by case I guess? Death match is okay since it just happened, not sure on the rest yet.” He gave helpless shrug. “I’ll let you know later.”
“Good enough for me. Cause you in the death match? Definitely in the terrifying camp. Like I said, don’t sell yourself short.”
The glint returned to his eyes, along with a toothy grin. “I admit, it was pretty satisfying.”
“Aaand case in point right there, just that expression is terrifying. Fucking hell, dude.”
“I do have a future reputation to build,” he said airily, which somewhat ruined the expression. It also made Beau have to muffle a laugh, and she had to work even harder to muffle it when she saw Kingsley pouting.
“Now that’s just rude.”
“Sorry, sorry,” Beau said, waving a hand in the air and breathing deep to calm the laughter. “This about the pirate idea?”
He nodded. “It is indeed! You should know that I have plans.”
That glint was back in his eyes again, even more worrying than before. Maybe she should warn Fjord about it.
...
Nah, he could find out on his own.
Beau stretched, rolling her head and resting her palm on the back of her neck before looking at Kingsley again. One more question she needed to ask.
“Any updates on the name?”
There was a pause, a long pause, and then he shook his head. “I’ll stick with Kingsley for now. And what I said with the middle name this morning... I’ll keep thinking on it.” There was still some hesitancy, but overall? He actually looked okay.
“Fine by me. And hey, you wouldn’t be the first of the Nein to end up with a different name.” She shrugged. “Caleb and Veth did. Hell, even Jester picked her own name.”
“Really?”
“Yeah! You should ask her about it sometime.” Beau looked back out over the ocean, sun getting lower and the last of the sea birds flying off. “And I think it'd be good to talk Jester and Fjord about stuff in general. I’m not the best at this life advice thing.”
“Noooooo, really?”
“Oh eat a dick.”
“Sorry, can't, you don't have one.”
Beau paused.
“You know, ask Jester about some early Xhorhas disguises we had. I think you’d get a kick out of it.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Color me intrigued. Any reason you can’t tell it?”
“Don’t want to rob Jester of the experience.”
“Now I’m really intrigued.”
“Beauuuu! Kingsleeeey!”
The two of them turned and looked up, following the voice to find Jester in the crow’s nest and waving down at them before cupping her hands around her mouth for the next shout. “We’re having dinner in 10 minutes! Be there!”
“Sure thing, Jes!” Beau hollered, waving back.
“Don't eat all the pastries before I get there!” Kingsley shouted.
“No promises!” Jester shouted back, before she gave one more very enthusiastic wave and started climbing down from the crow's nest.
Beau looked back to Kingsley, stretching then placing her hands on her hips. “Well, I think that’s our cue to get back to civilization.”
“You call this crew civilized?”
“Point. You know that includes you, right?” she said as the two of them started to walk.
“I know what I’m about,” Kingsley said, grinning.
“Suuure you do.”
“Yep!” he said cheerfully. He bounded ahead, tail swishing animatedly before spinning on one foot and throwing his arms out wide. “One uncivilized teifling, right here! And sorry, you’re stuck with me.”
“No refunds?”
“Nope!”
“Well damn. Sucks to be me I guess,” Beau deadpanned, but as she did she came up next to Kingsley and threw an arm around his shoulder, and her friend continued to grin.
“Come on. Let’s go show the rest of this uncivilized bunch what they’re missing.”

Catra abused Adora.
I want to start off by explaining my own experience with watching She-Ra for the first time. I started to watch the show and continued to watch it for various reasons. But I want to make it clear that I wasn’t watching the show to see who ended up with who. I enjoyed the show mostly because it had such wonderful messages surrounding healthy families, friendships, and relationships. And so, one of the main themes of the show ended up being: abuse.
The show demonstrated that abuse can take a variety of forms. The show demonstrated that people can suffer from abuse in different ways. The show presented that people can break the cycle of abuse and people can continue the cycle of abuse. The show demonstrated that in some cases people can try and help an abusive person, but the abusive person may abuse the person trying to help. The show also highlighted that people are allowed to leave abusive relationships.
Before we begin, I want to note that I won’t be answering the question “Did Catra’s own experiences of abuse influence her actions?” Because the answer to this question is obviously Yes. And I sympathize with Catra and the fact that she was abused while she was growing up. In addition, there’s a lot of complexity and depth surrounding the abuse Catra received. But Catra also continued the cycle of abuse. And in real life, people who have been abused can also end up abusing other people.
Now, since we’ll be focusing on Catradora in this commentary, we must look strictly at the interactions between Catra and Adora. The reason behind this is we are evaluating only whether the relationship between Catra and Adora is healthy. In addition, if your friend told you they were being abused, would you ask the question, “I understand, but what about your abuser? Was your abuser abused?”. No, I don’t think you would. You’d ask your friend, “Is there any way I can help?” And so, in this case, Adora is your friend and Catra is the abuser.
Thus, the main question remains: Did Catra abuse Adora? And the answer is Yes.
(Please note that the underlined statements are hyperlinked to websites providing information on abuse.)
Signs of Emotional Abuse
Catra has unrealistic expectations of Adora:
Catra makes unreasonable demands of Adora.
Catra expects Adora to put everything aside and meet her needs.
Catra is constantly dissatisfied no matter how much Adora gives.
Catra invalidates Adora:
Catra undermines, dismisses, and distorts Adora’s perceptions of reality.
Catra accuses Adora of being "crazy”.
Catra refuses to acknowledge or accept Adora’s opinions or ideas as valid.
Catra dismisses Adora’s requests, wants, and needs as ridiculous or unmerited.
Catra suggests that Adora’s perceptions are wrong or that Adora cannot be trusted by saying things like “you’re not making sense”.
Catra uses emotional blackmail:
Catra manipulates and controls Adora by making Adora feel guilty.
Catra uses Adora’s fears, values, compassion, or other hot buttons to control Adora or the situation.
Catra exaggerates Adora’s flaws or points Adora’s flaws out in order to deflect attention or to avoid taking responsibility for her poor choices or mistakes.
Catra denies that an event took place/lies about it.
Catra acts superior:
Catra treats Adora like Catra’s inferior.
Catra blames Adora for her mistakes.
Catra doubts everything Adora says and attempts to prove Adora wrong.
Catra talks down to Adora.
Catra uses sarcasm when interacting with Adora.
Catra acts like she’s always right, knows what’s best, and is smarter than Adora.
Catra controls and isolates Adora:
Catra treats Adora like a possession or property.
Signs of Physical Abuse
Catra kidnaps Adora.
Catra scratches Adora.
Catra shoves Adora.
Catra kicks Adora.
Catra slaps Adora.
Catra uses weapons on Adora.
Catra physically restrains Adora.
Catra attempts to murder Adora multiple times.
Adora suffered from Catra’s abuse and Adora displayed the effects of this abuse:
Short Term Effects
confusion
fear
hopelessness
shame
Long-term effects
guilt
anxiety
Adora also tried tactics that are not effective ways of dealing with abuse:
Adora arguing with Catra.
Adora trying to understand or make excuses for Catra.
Adora attempting to appease Catra.
Adora also figures out how to properly deal with Catra’s abuse:
Adora makes herself a priority.
Adora establishes boundaries.
Adora stops blaming herself.
Adora realizes she can’t fix Catra.
Adora avoids engaging with Catra.
Adora builds a support network.
Adora deserves to be in a healthy relationship, which consists of:
Trust
Adora should be confident her partner won’t do anything to hurt her or ruin the relationship.
In a healthy relationship, trust comes easily and Adora shouldn’t have to question her partner’s intentions or whether her partner has her back.
Honesty
Adora should be able to be truthful and candid without fearing how her partner will respond.
Adora’s partner may not like what Adora has to say, but should respond to disappointing news in a considerate way.
Respect
Adora’s partner should value Adora’s beliefs and opinions.
Adora’s partner should love Adora for who she is.
Adora should feel comfortable setting boundaries and should feel confident that her partner will respect those boundaries.
Adora’s partner should cheer for Adora when Adora achieves something.
Adora’s partner should support Adora’s hard work and dreams, and appreciate Adora.
Equality
Adora’s relationship should feel balanced.
Both Adora and her partner should put the same effort into the success of the relationship.
Neither Adora’s nor her partner’s opinions should dominate. Instead, they both should hear each other out and make compromises when they don’t want the same thing.
Adora should feel like her needs, wishes and interests are just as important as her partner’s.
Kindness
Adora’s partner should be caring and empathetic to Adora, and should provide comfort and support.
In a healthy relationship, Adora’s partner will do things that they know will make Adora happy.
Kindness should be a two-way street in Adora’s relationship: it’s given and returned.
Adora’s partner should show compassion for Adora and the things Adora cares about.
Taking Responsibility
Adora’s partner should own up to their actions and words.
Adora’s partner should not place blame and should be able to admit when they make a mistake.
Adora’s partner should genuinely apologize when they’ve done something wrong and continually try to make positive changes to better the relationship.
Adora’s partner should be able take ownership for the impact of their words or behaviour had, even if it wasn’t their intention.
Healthy Conflict
Adora and her partner should be able to openly and respectfully discuss issues and confront disagreements non-judgmentally.
Adora’s partner should not belittle or yell during an argument.
Adora’s relationship should have healthy conflict by recognizing the root issue and addressing it respectfully before it escalates into something bigger.
Fun
Adora should enjoy spending time with her partner.
Adora and her partner should bring out the best in each other.
A healthy relationship should feel easy and make Adora happy.
Adora should be able to let loose, laugh, and be themselves.
Adora’s relationship should not bring Adora’s mood down but should cheer Adora up.
Adora’s relationship doesn’t have to be fun 100% of the time, but the good times should definitely outweigh the bad.
In conclusion:
Whatever Catra says, Catra’s violence towards Adora is unacceptable.
Catra’s violent behavior is always Catra’s responsibility, not Adora’s.
Catra’s abuse is not okay or justifiable.
There are so many scenes throughout the series where Catra emotionally and physically abused Adora, and these scenes are captured on this blog.
I just want to add that even when Catra emotionally and physically abused Adora, Adora continuously tried to reach out and help Catra. Adora gave Catra so many chances for her to apologize and rectify her mistakes. But Catra didn’t. Not only that, when Adora left, Catra continued to abuse people. Catra emotionally abused Scorpia. Then, when Scorpia left, Catra began abusing Lonnie. Catra’s abuse didn’t stop when Adora left, Catra just found a new victim.
In addition, there were so many significant moments of growth for Adora. Adora found people who supported her and did not abuse her. Adora began to heal from Catra’s abuse. Adora no longer made excuses for Catra. Adora realized that she is not responsible for Catra’s atrocious actions.
Adora was strong and brave for moving forward in her life without her abuser.
Moreover, Adora is a victim of abuse. Catra abused Adora emotionally and physically. Catra repeatedly admits to manipulating Adora in order to meet her own selfish goals. Catra did not show any remorse for her abuse against Adora throughout seasons 1 to 4. Catra continuously blamed Adora for her own atrocious actions. And finally, Catra attempted to murder Adora on several occasions.
And here’s the most important thing. I don’t care who Adora would have ended up with. I just care about the fact that Adora ended up with Catra. What I mean is: I would rather have Adora end up without a partner, than end up with Catra.
Irrespective of whether you agree or disagree with my points on Catradora, these will be final points:
Abuse can happen anywhere at any time.
Abuse can happen in any relationship, including lesbian relationships.
Abuse is unacceptable.
Make sure YOU can recognize signs of emotional and physical abuse.
Make sure YOU know that it’s okay to leave an abusive relationship.

Long time no see
Summary : Two years into an undercover mission, you find yourself meeting the very man you had to leave behind.
Obi-Wan Kenodi x Genderneutral!reader
Tumblr media
The low boom of the bass permeated through the sweaty bar as Master Kenobi and his padawan moved through the crowd.
“Master are you sure this the right place ?”, Anakin mumbled to his master, uncomfortable in the civilian clothes that many of the regulars wore. His status as a padawan hidden as his braid was tucked under the shoulder-length wig.
“Yes Anakin, I’m sure and please stop fidgeting, you’re drawing attention”, he replied as he glanced around the crowd inconspicuously.
“Yes Master”.
Eventually, the pair found an empty booth in a more secluded part of the club, but also a lot closer to one of the many circular platforms dotted around that were mainly used by scantily-clad dancers of varying species and gender. One of the platforms was directly in front of Obi-Wan’s line of sight and was a lot larger than the other platforms, probably used as the main stage. At the moment it was empty as the generic low-bass music continued to play.
“So this informant, any idea how we’re supposed to find them ?”
“Patience, young one”, replied Obi-Wan.
The music suddenly changed and the lights dimmed so that the main stage was lit up. Both men looked at the stage as two twi’leks, one male and one female, start dancing along to the beat.
Here we go again. Just like every other night for the past two years, you sat in the dressing room getting ready for your performance. At least this time, you know two Jedi will be waiting for you for information. They should be easy enough to spot, even if they think they’re amazing at being disguised. Most of the time ordinary people don’t notice them when they’re not in their robes, you, however, could spot them a mile away so it didn’t really matter that you had no idea who the Jedi you were supposed to meet was. Hopefully, after you’ve dropped the info, your undercover mission will be over and you can get back to what you’re fantastic at : bounty hunting.
“Come on honey! We’re up!”, shouted Iyal’, a young yellow twi’lek that was your only friend among the dancers.
You took your robe off, revealing the provocative outfit and sauntered on stage as your back-up dancers, Iyal’ and another twi’lek, began dancing to the beat of the song. They separated to reveal you to the audience and you began singing.
As you sing and dance sensually to the song, you check out the crowd entranced by your performance in search of the two Jedi. Your gaze lands on the two men sat in a booth near one of the smaller dance platforms and you falter slightly as you recognise him.
“Kriff”
Anakin glances confusingly at his master’s swearing. The usually calm and composed Jedi master was visible flustered at the sight of the beautiful singer on the main stage.
“Master, are you alright ?”
Obi-Wan cleared his throat and readjusted himself so as not to seem affected by the performance. When he was told to meet up with an undercover agent, you were the last person that he had expected to see.
You gave it your all on the final note, the club whistles and applauses your performance. The twi’leks move off-stage as the generic low-bass music returns. You walk off-stage in the direction of the booth.
Nervous butterflies were fluttering around in your stomach despite your confident strut towards the two Jedi. Holy Sith! Why does he have to be so hot? He was already attractive when he was a padawan but the long hair and beard just make him ten times hotter.
As you reach them, you coyly sit next to the older one.
“Of all the places I thought I would see you again Kenobi, this is certainly not one of them”
“Likewise my dear”, he responded coldly.
Anakin furrowed his eyebrows at his master’s cold greeting before introducing himself.
“Pleasure to meet you”, you reply smirking and coyly extending your hand for him to shake. Despite the coldness from Obi-Wan, you still had an act to maintain.
“Anakin, why don’t you go get us both drinks whilst I discuss matters with our informant”, Obi-Wan ordered.
“But-”.
“Now, Anakin.”
He nodded his head towards you both before getting up, slightly concerned at his master’s strange behaviour.
“ Master”, you say as if testing the way it sounded. “It suits you.”
“Yes well ... thank you”, he coughs. You smile slightly, glad you could break his impassiveness, even if only for a moment.“From what I understand, you have some information on a potential terrorist attack”
“It’s always straight to business with you, even when we were younglings”
“I hardly see why that’s a bad thing”
You smirk at him before gently removing a disc hidden in your bra.
“This disc has everything I could gather without being caught”
Obi-Wan briefly glanced down but quickly looked away before you noticed where he was looking.
“Your effort is greatly appreciated by the council”, he curtly replied as he took the disc from you.
You felt disappointed at the lack of reaction. You always knew that if you did ever see him again, the encounter would be at the least awkward, but you still hoped that somewhere deep down, he was happy to see you.
The sound of shouting above the music catches your attention. Anakin was stood with his fists clenched and struggling to stay calm as a Rodian screeched at him. The second you look at the scene, you notice a determined group walk in your direction. You recognise them immediately as henchmen from the separatist group that run the club as cover.
“Fuck, we’ve got to get out of here. Grab Anakin and meet me at the back”. If they figure out that you’re with a Jedi, your cover will be blown. You get up to meet the group of intimidating aliens, still maintaining your flirty persona.
"Hi fellas, what can a gal get ya’ ?" You flirtatiously greet.
" How about two Jedi scum.", growled the big Trandoshan. You try to hide your nervous giggle.
" Oh sugar, if that's what you want, you ain't gonna find any here"
"Really", he stepped closer to you, "then why did we catch you chatting them up." Crap.
"Oh, don't be silly. Those two fellas were just here for a good time. Here, let me grab you fellas some drinks, on the house"
You quickly turn away to escape but the Trandoshan roughly grips onto your arm. You slam your heel into his foot, causing him to yell in pain and let your arm go. Time to get out of here. You start running and pushing through the crowd of semi-drunk club-goers.
"GET AFTER THEM !"
The group draw their blasters and run after you.
You manage to run out into a dark and dirty alleyway with a dead-end.“Not so fast”, two Devaronians block both sides of the alleyway, cutting off your escape route. Oh, crap.
Suddenly the sounds of lightsabers and blaster fire catch your attention. Upon the rooftop, you spot the two Jedi deflecting blasts close to the edge. They make quick work of the thugs attacking before Obi-wan notices the trouble you’re in the alleyway below as the two Devaronians trapping you rush at you.
Without much thought -and to Anakin’s confusion- he calls your name and throws his deactivated lightsaber to you. You catch the lightsaber and ignite, smirking at the two thugs who suddenly stopped at the sight of the blue blade. They start firing their blasters but you gracefully deflect the bolts back to them before swiftly cutting one of the Devaronian’s arm off and roundhouse kick him in the face, incapacitating him. You promptly twist to face the other thug who had stepped back slightly in fear. Swinging the sabre skilfully, you use the force to pull the blaster out of his hand before slamming the hilt into his face, effectively knocking him out.
Both Jedi smoothly leap down from the roof to join you.
“You’re a Jedi ?!”, exclaimed Anakin incredulously.
“Was. I’m not any more.”, you admitted.
“Yes well, let’s get out of here”, said Obi-Wan, quickly cutting off whatever Anakin was about to say to your reply.
The three of you headed out of the alleyway and headed to the parked speeder hidden in the shadows. Upon approaching the speeder, you noticed that only seated two people and stood awkwardly looking at the men, wondering how we were going to get around the problem. Obi-Wan noticed the same issue as you. As Anakin sat in the driver’s seat, he took his place in the passenger’s side and simply patted his lap. You flushed at the action. When you didn’t immediately move, he looked at you with a slight smirk and raised an eyebrow.
Over the past two years, you became used to the flirtatious smirks and sexual remarks from both attractive and unattractive customers whilst working in the seedy club in the lower decks of Coruscant. You were used to dancing provocatively in front of an enraptured audience. But one simple hand gesture from him and suddenly you were blushing mess. You also realised this is the first time that he’s somewhat smiled since seeing him again. This only made you blush more. In an attempt to mask how flustered he made you, you moved to gently sit in his lap. He wrapped his arms around your waist to secure you, making you blush even harder and making the resurfaced butterflies flutter crazily in your stomach but thankfully he couldn’t see your face. Anakin, however, saw the entire exchange but decided not to say anything. He’ll have to question his master later.
Anakin flew the speeder to the Jedi temple, much to your reluctance. After the feeling of disappointing your master by leaving the order, the thought of ever returning made you feel queasy and the warmth of his arms wrapped around you didn’t help. As Anakin landed the speeder, Master Yoda, a blue and white astromech droid and a gold protocol droid greeted you. You stood behind the two Jedi, hoping to be ignored by your former master. No such look as he greeted you :
“Good to see you, it is, my former padawan”
“Master Yoda”, you greeted, bowing in respect, “it has been a long time.”
“Have become a fine Jedi, you would, but become an invaluable ally, instead you have. If correct, your information is, prevent losses, it may. Hmm. Been prepared for your arrival, a room has. Show you the way, C3PO will. Discuss further action with the council, we must. Talk later, we will.”
During the walk to your new room, you ignored the ramblings of the protocol droid as the familiar corridors of the Jedi Temple made you feel nostalgic. You remember the times you and Obi-wan would get in trouble as children. You shared everything with each other. But as you got older, you developed a crush that no amount of meditating would get rid of it. You had to hide your feelings as it was against the code to form attachments. However, it was far too late. You thought by distancing yourself more would make a difference but no matter what you did, his smile, his laughter, everything about him would make your heart flutter. Dismissing the droid once when you reached the room, you decided that a shower was in order.
The sound of the door knocking pulled you from the meditative state you had been in. After your shower, you started your bedtime ritual which included a small meditation session. Since leaving the order, you were no longer obligated to follow their rules and rituals but nothing helped calm you down better than meditating. It was currently three o’clock in the morning and so you definitely were not expecting anyone to come knocking. You opened the door :
“Obi-Wan ?”
“I realise it is far too late and I should be leaving you to rest but I can’t sleep.”
You silently gesture for him to come in before closing the door. As padawans, it wasn’t unusual for one of you to go see the other when we had difficulty sleeping. Nothing had to be said. You started making two cups of tea as he sat on the small couch near the window of your room. He wasn’t wearing his robes but a thin cotton shirt and trousers. For a brief moment, you both felt like padawans again.
As you handed him his tea, he shifted and the moment of nostalgia was over :
“I’ve come to apologise”, he started, “I was unfairly rude to you and I would also like to apologise for blowing your cover”.
“I somehow don’t think it was your fault. Something tells me that they had known about me long before you even turned up”
“You suspect they knew you were a spy ?”
“Yeah, call it a gut feeling”
He nodded in agreement, stroking his beard. You didn’t think he could be any more attractive but the sight of him sat on your couch in his casual clothes made everything seem intimate. You had to tear your gaze away from the hand near his mouth, hoping he didn’t sense what you were feeling.
“I hated being there anyway, so I’m definitely not upset over never having to go back there ever again”
His brows furrowed at your statement :
“More so than here ?”
“What ?”, you reply in confusion.
“I - Did you hate it there more than being at the Temple ?”
You looked at him, wondering why he would ask such a question. Normally, you would just ignore such a question and try to change the subject, but had been a very tiring day and something about the moment just made you want to give in.
“I never hated being at the Temple.”
A heavy silence followed your answer. When you left the order, you promised you would never tell anyone your reasons, afraid of rumours would spread and Obi-Wan’s devotion to the order and the code would be put into question.
“Why did you leave ?”
“Obi-Wan, I-”
“No please. I never understood why you left. I thought you were happy at the Temple. I remember the fun we had as children.”
“Obi-Wan please -”
He gently picked your hands up and held them, gently rubbing the back of your hands with his thumbs. The rough but soft caress of his thumbs made you feel weak and you felt resolve crumble.
“I loved you”, you quietly whispered. Hoping maybe he hadn’t heard you, but the sudden freezing of his thumbs confirmed that he had.“ I tried not to”, you quickly added. “ I tried so hard to be a good Jedi but it didn’t work. If anything it made me love you more. So I left. I didn’t want to ‘corrupt’ you. I knew how much becoming a Jedi Knight meant to you.”
You couldn’t look him in the eye, afraid of what you’ll see. Afraid that he would turn cold again and that it would truly be last time you ever see him again. Instead, you heard him move closer and felt his forehead gently rest against the side of your face. Confused, you gently turn your face to him so both of your foreheads rested against each other. He had his eyes closed and you closed your own. You could feel his warm breath softly flow over your face he slowly leaned in more. His nose brushed softly against yours as his lips pressed to yours. Your lips touched for a few seconds before he leaned in more, deepening the kiss. One of his hands moved up to gently cup your jaw.
After what felt like hours, but probably was only a few minutes, you both separated. You were in a daze and felt on top of the world.
AN : I had to repost this because Tumblr glitched, but anyways here it is. I spent way to much time on this and I’m still not entirely happy with it but I hope you enjoy it !
PS : Please tell me I’m not alone in struggling to find titles for their fanfictions.

it’s the great pumpkin (t.l.)
pairing - tara lewis x reader
summary - you and tara take the simmons kids to the pumpkin patch
warnings - none
note - this takes place before rosemary was born
Tumblr media
it was no secret that you and tara were the usual go-to babysitters for any of the bau parents.
kristy and matt were the ones who utilized you the most. you two never minded, their kids were so incredibly sweet and you loved spending time with them.
matt had texted you earlier in the week asking if you and tara could possibly watch the kids that saturday. him and kristy were going to visit matt’s grandmother in northern virginia. they would be gone from early morning to late night and obviously the kids couldn’t be alone.
you arrived promptly at six-thirty in the morning at the simmon’s residence.
it was far too early in the morning and you still weren’t quite awake. tara had a bit more energy, but still leaned against you gently.
kristy was the one who opened the door, greeting you both and ushering you in. “how do you have such a bright smile this early,” you commented. “some of us have kids and are used to bring up at this hour.”
you’ve babysat for the simmons enough that you were fully used to their home. for that reason, you headed right into the kitchen to make yourself a cup of coffee. plus, kristy had gotten the fall holiday blend for their keurig and you both wanted to try it.
“hey tara,” you poked. “do you want some?”
your girlfriend nodded from the counter, still a little out of it overall.
“helping yourself i see,” matt spoke as he entered the kitchen. “hey matt, can you grab me the creamer?”
the agent chuckled at your deflection of the question. he didn’t mind at all. like before, you and tara were always welcome to help yourselves. besides, it was early in the morning and coffee was pretty much a must at this point.
as you stirred the two mugs of coffee together, matt went over the details while kristy was getting ready.
“all of the kids are still asleep. david is usually the early riser out of the group but he goes in and brushes his teeth before coming down. they all know you two are here so their shouldn’t be any surpises. chloe and lily will probably need a little help with hair and getting changed but once one wakes up, the other is two. them and jake should be down maybe thirty minutes after david,” matt explained.
you nodded along. you heard this speech a couple of times and it was already memorized in your head.
“we should be back by eleven. everything else with breakfast, lunch, and dinner is up to you. there’s money in the dining room for takeout if you want but other than that i think your good to go.”
matt and kristy departed soon after that. they had a long drive ahead of them and both wanted to arrive sooner rather than later.
for you and tara, you took your coffee into the living room to sit. all you could do at that point is wait for the kids to get up so you could make them breakfast and start the day.
reruns of the office played on the tv as you sat together. just as tara had taken both of your mugs back into the kitchen for refills, you heard the first set of foot septa coming down the stairs.
david grinned when he realized that you and tara were already over. the young boy ran as quickly as he could over to the couch. you let out an ‘oof’ as he jumped beside you, already clinging to you with a giggle.
it didn’t take long for the rest of the kids to wake up. they had heard the commotion downstairs and wanted to figure where it was coming from. they had greeted you both the same way david had before chloe brought up breakfast.
you made pancakes for everyone. they were simple enough and the kids loved them.
after breakfast, you and tara helped the kids get changed, brush their teeth, and fix their hair. by eleven that morning, they were ready to go for the day.
prior to arriving, you and tara talked briefly about what you wanted to do with the simmons kids. you settled on something that could be fun for fall, but it depended on how it went down with everyone.
after successfully gaining everyone’s attention downstairs, tara brought up the idea. “how would you all feel about going to get some pumpkins to carve?”
chloe and lily jumped up and down at that while david let out a ‘yeah!’ jake agreed too and was already going on about what he wanted to carve.
it took a bit to get the kids fed lunch and all together to get ready and go. when everyone was finally seated into the car seats, you took off.
the farm you went to was a bit outside of the city, maybe twenty minutes to get there from the simmons home. you could tell the kids excitement only grew as you were closer to your destination.
once arriving, you and tara helped the kids out of the car. “make sure to stick with one of us and we can go,” you informed them all.
lily resided comfortably on your shoulders, clinging to the base of your neck to keep herself upright after making grabby hands at you. she was the shyest one of the kids, preferring to stick to either you and tara or her parents when they were around.
the other three kids ran ahead. jake led the pack, pulling david with him as chloe did her best to catch up.
“come on auntie t!” david called.
tara gave you a quickly glance. “go ahead,” you motioned with your hand. “i got this little one.” lily giggled as you leaned up to tickle her gently.
as tara picked up the pace to keep up with the three, you and lily turned a different route of the farm. “alright lily, let’s go find our perfect pumpkin,” you beamed.
while tara, jake, david, and chloe were all trudging through the main field in search of a carvable pumpkin, you and lily stayed towards the main part of the farm. she seemed to really love the mini pumpkins they had. you grabbed a basket and put a few in much to her delight as well as another medium sized pumpkin.
“should we go meet up with auntie t and the others?” you poked lily. the young girl on your shoulders nodded, going quiet for a moment before she pointed towards the entrance to the field.
tara and jake were holding two very large pumpkins while chloe and david trailed them. you pressed your lips together, already preparing for the mess that was going to come with it.
back home, you brought the pumpkins, both big and small, inside first. tara helped you lay down some newspaper so the kitchen table wouldn’t be permanently damaged by the goop. after the knives and other scoopers were gathered up, it was time to start.
“alright now,” you announced. “what kind of pumpkin do we went to carve.
there were shouts from the kids all ranging from ‘dinosaur!’ to ‘princess!’ and even just a plain old face.
the last one was obviously the simplest and you ultimately decided to let the kids draw what face they wanted you to carve. while they did that, you walked over to tara.
“have any of the kids mentione what they want for dinner?”
“yeah actually. david brought up pasta and the other two agreed. i mean i’m nowhere near rossi level but i can make the one i usually so for us,” she offered. you nodded, “that sounds perfect.”
“auntie y/n! we’re finished!” chloe called. you turned to tara, “that’s my cue.”
you started off by cutting both tops off and diving in with your hands to scoop out the inside of the pumpkin.
the kids seemed to think it was hilarious everytime you threw more of the inside of the pumpkin down. adding onto the fact that it was slowly getting all over you and even on your face, they could not stop laughing at you.
you were elbow deep in pumpkin goop when tara started cooking. there were two pumpkins to carve and you needed to finish the first at that point and start on the second.
jake was helping tara cook. well, by helping it was pretty much him taste testing what she made. david and lily say with you as you carved away. they were in slight awe watching you work.
when the two pumpkins were finally carved, you let the kids pick out what candles they wanted to put in and light. with help from david, you all brought them outside to sit on the front porch.
dinner was a bit after that, then just time to relate, and finally time to put the kids in bed.
you and tara brought them up around nine. lily had already fallen asleep beside you and the rest weren’t far behind. after they lazily brushed their teeth and got their pajamas on, you said your goodnight, read them a bedtime story, and it was lights out.
matt and kristy got home that night right around the time they told you.
in the two hour difference between the kids going to bed and the two arriving home, you and tara pretty much just sat around and watched tv before you finally had to start the final parts of cleanup.
you were just heading back inside from the trash can outside when you saw their car pull down the street.
“hey y/n, where’s tara and the kids?” matt first greeted. “did everything go okay?”
you stopped what you were doing, tossing the rag you were using to wipe down on the table. “they’re upstairs. chloe couldn’t sleep so tara is up with her right now. the boys and lily passed out almost immediately,” you informed the parents.
kristy looked a little shocked at that. “really? it usually takes a bit for all of them to fall asleep.”
“well i think we tired them out,” you smiled, motioning with your heads to the pumpkins that sat on the table. “we carved pumpkins.”
“you did?”
you nodded. “yeah we put them outside on the porch. we went to the farm and let the kids pick them out and then brought them back to carve them.”
tara appeared in the kitchen a moment later. “chloe’s asleep,” she spoke first. “oh hey guys. everyone’s already in bed and tucked in.”
kristy nodded. “thank you guys so much. it really means a lot for you to do this.”
tara waved her hand. “it’s no issue. we rarely have any issues and they’re truly a joy to watch. besides, we have to get those favoritism points somehow.”
“you know you two are going to be great parents someday,” matt commented.
you leaned against tara with a smile. “you always say that matt.” kristy jumped in next. “well i mean it’s true. the kids really love you both.” for once, you finally felt like you agreed.
something about you and tara being parents just felt so incredibly right.

Desired Fate, Chapter 14
Read on ff.net
Read on AO3
Zelda and the others were transfixed as they looked up at the spirit of Calamity Ganon writhing around the castle. The anguish of all Hyrule hung stagnant in the air along with the ambient gurgling sound of malice.
"It's here…" Impa was the first one who managed to speak. "The Calamity has already begun…" She said, at a loss.
"No, No…." Zelda gasped when she noticed malice enter one of the nearby Guardians and became animate. It made a horrible mechanical sound as it turned its 'eye' towards the princess, a red laser appearing on Zelda's chest. Link immediately sprang into action, deflecting the Guardian's blast back at it in a brilliant flash of light.
"Calamity Ganon is taking control of the Guardians!" Zelda lamented. "It's going to turn them all against us!"
"It can do that?" Said Revali in surprise, realization starting to dawn on the Rito champion, as well as the three others. The Calamity was far more cunning than any of them had imagined.
"There are still more on the castle grounds. It's too dangerous. Everyone, protect the princess as we make our retreat!" Impa called.
"But…"
With that, Link grabbed Zelda's hand, pulling her roughly behind him as he ran down the brick path away from the Castle, which didn't go unnoticed by Astor, feeling an intense wave of sullenness he couldn't shake. They disappeared down the path and the Champions and Sheikah aide followed, no one paying him any mind in the frenzy the Calamity had created.
Astor remained, feeling out of sorts and alone, but determined to fully embrace his new destiny. Hyrule really was on its knees… Especially Zelda, who was being crushed under the weight of her duty. How had he ever been so blinded by Calamity Ganon to want this? To want to harm her? He had almost killed her for the sake of Calamity Ganon… HER! He was barely aware that his fists were clenched, wanting to make her his and spare her all this pain and suffering. The back of his neck was becoming sore as he glared up at the beast he'd once dedicated his life to serving. Calamity Ganon opened its maw to a right angle, and a thunderous roar of rage issued forth as if demanding the prophet make a blood sacrifice of himself to atone for his disloyalty.
Astor smiled up at the beast spitefully.
I wasted so many years of my life on you…. But serving you led me to her… I must thank you… I'm going to live on and create a legacy for myself, and you… You're going to be sealed away… Forever perhaps.
Astor's smile faded as he noticed King Rhoam emerge from the castle's sanctum.
"You're coming with me…" Rhoam said in a stern, matter-of-fact way., The King wielded a huge claymore single-handedly, flanked by three knight attendants.
Astor scowled at the older man, raising his hand to summon his orb, but then thought better of it, giving only a huff of defiance.
"I'm glad I have your cooperation, Astor," Rhoam said, coming close as he brandished his claymore in a vaguely threatening way. The sword was almost as big as he was.
Confident that Astor would not run or fight back, Rhoam nodded to his attendants. "Alright men, retreat!"
"Yes, Sire!" The three knight attendants said in unison. They were looking around wildly, in horror at the destruction the Guardians were bringing and a bit miffed that their king had apparently decided to take a prisoner at the worst time possible.
The five quickly, but carefully made their way down the path, Rhoam staggering a Guardian that blocked their path with a single swing of his sword. Astor could almost feel the brunt of that swing.
"Astor, I'm afraid we're going to get to know each other whether you like it or not. Had the Calamity not happened when it did, you would be in lockup now. However, since my castle is currently overrun with Guardians and all manner of Ganon's monsters, I will be keeping an eye on you myself. Suffice to say, I am not in a good mood."
Astor kept his gaze forward as they moved forward. The king's tone did not bode well for him. It wasn't lost on him that he was in a precarious situation. Still, this could be amusing.
"I know I'd rather not," King Rhoam continued, "but given that I fear you are encroaching on my daughter's divine duties, I must go above and beyond to perform mine as her father and as king." Rhoam noticed Astor's attention was elsewhere. "Look at your king when he's talking to you, you piece of filth!" Rhoam raised his voice, finding the younger man infuriating, despite knowing so little about him. The prophet had already left the worst impression on him, not that he stood a chance in hell of making a good first impression all things considered. Why would Zelda consort with this man, let alone trust him? He was scrawny, deathly pale, and dressed in rags. Everything about Astor was… off-putting. How had he and Zelda even met? Was the young knight he'd appointed to Zelda slacking off?
Astor turned his attention to the older man slowly, giving him a look of intense spite. He then saw the king's eyes widen, looking at something beyond him. Astor turned to come face to face with a Guardian's laser trained on him.
Rhoam and his men stood back, apparently obliging the Guardian to make short work of Astor.
The Guardian's laser rested on Astor for a moment, moving over the malice eye on his circlet before fading and readjusting to focus on the king.
Rhoam wasted no time in raising his claymore and bringing it down on the Guardian, giving a grunt of effort. Bolts and gears flew out of the busted machine, littering the brick pathway.
"Why did the Guardian disregard you?" Rhoam mused aloud. "How disappointing..."
"Thank you for looking out for me, Rhoam. Such a caring king and father, too… You're going to make a fine grandfather someday..." Astor said darkly, facetiously.
"How dare you!" Rhoam bellowed, giving the young man a ruthless slap across the face, causing Astor to stagger and fall. Astor simply returned a perverse smile despite the stinging sensation on his cheek. Astor began to laugh, chuckling at first and then breaking into an intense round of laughter, his yellow eyes going wide in a way that unsettled the old king - as if seeing beyond. "Yes, my children. Go harass King Rhoam and do not disappoint me!"
Rhoam was fuming. Astor was either very insane or intentionally provoking him, perhaps both. Either that or he had injured the prophet's mind when he struck him. Astor's antics were making it very difficult for the king to maintain his composure.
"You're very fortunate I am not a crass man, or I'd tell you what I think you deserve… Now tell me, how well do you know my daughter?"
"Well enough to know she is terribly lonely." Astor replied. "She despises you."
"What nonsense… Everything I've done has been for her! She was supposed to be Hyrule's pride, but it seems that the gossipmongers' words are coming true... Look around you. Hyrule is on fire. What sort of future does she have? 'Heir to a throne of nothing' if she does not awaken that power very soon. I can tell you're a lousy prophet by that alone."
"Bold words from a king who does not carry the blood of the Goddess."
"I may not carry the blood of the goddess, but I am still the rightful king of Hyrule in my late queen's stead. I was born into a noble family and my union with her was arranged by the former king and queen. The only thing I'm going to be arranging for you is an execution. Know your place, Prophet."
"An execution?" Astor almost laughed. He couldn't imagine what Rhoam's reaction might be when he learned he had formerly been trying to bring about Calamity Ganon's revival. "On what grounds?"
"Interfering with the Princess awakening her power to seal Calamity Ganon away for one. Also because it would bring me personal satisfaction. Now, get up, before I change my mind and grind my boot into your head. You're slowing down our escape."
Slowly Astor got up, dusting himself off, raising his chin to the older man in a testing manner.
"Wipe that smirk off your face. Move!" Rhoam said, giving Astor a shove with the side of his claymore.
oOo
Zelda looked back over her shoulder, her hair whipping in the wind as she ran. "Wait… Where are Astor and my father? We can't leave them behind…!"
Nobody seemed to acknowledge her question or nobody heard.
They ran through the chaotic town streets, witnessing horrifying scenes as the Guardians wrought havoc upon Hyrule's capital. Guardians were climbing the walls of houses and shops alike, some not being able to bear the weight of the mechanical wonders and the rooftops beginning to crumble.
They finally reached the main gate, crossing the threshold into Hyrule Field, as the Guardians had completely overtaken the castle and even the surrounding town. They stopped to look back, now a safe distance away. Zelda's eyes widened in horror when she realized more Guardians were appearing, being methodically ejected from the five columns that had suddenly risen out of the ground to surround Hyrule Castle. The same columns she had tried so hard to locate just days ago.
"Where did he go…?" Zelda said out of breath and sick at heart, but trying not to break down again. Hadn't she already cried all the tears she thought she had at the realization of her failure? She knew the Calamity was eventual, but experiencing it was beyond her worst nightmares.
"Little bird… How do you know he wasn't the one to summon the Calamity himself just by being present?" Said Urbosa.
"T-that can't be… " Zelda said, exasperated, not even willing to entertain the idea.
"His Majesty is missing as well… Did he remain behind on purpose?" Impa mused.
"The two are probably still bickering for all we know…" Revali quipped. "Hylian males…"
It would have been a humorous mental image in any other circumstances: Astor and her father too entrenched in their argument to notice as Guardians flooded into the Sanctum, but Zelda was vaguely aware that Astor had at least left the sanctum when the Calamity appeared.
Zelda turned her gaze elsewhere. Watching Castle Town burn was too much to bear. She happened to catch Link's eye, the boy wearing a severe expression.
You're fated to unlock your power because of him.
Zelda looked away from him and then at the back of her hand, giving an inaudible sigh, doubts about so many things clouding her mind.
This didn't go unnoticed by Urbosa, who came to stand behind Zelda, placing her hands on the princess's shoulders. "Don't give up! It's not too late."
"I know… We can't let the Calamity win. No matter what…" Zelda said, sounding downtrodden, but resolute.
"All is not lost. As long as I live I will fight. Just as you must." Impa reassured Zelda.
All the champions agreed one by one.
The group lifted their heads when they sensed others making their escape into Hyrule Field and out of Castle Town. Zelda's breath caught in her throat when she saw Astor standing in the shadow of her father's sword. He was unbound, yet it was clear from their expressions that he wasn't standing there on his own volition. Astor held her briefly in his gaze and then looked away, in shame. His face was more bruised than before.
"Champions, go to your Divine Beasts!" King Rhoam called in an official tone. "Astor will be coming with me, lest he interfere any further. Link… You are the knight to Princess Zelda. I trust you understand your duty." Rhoam said, shooting a disapproving look at Zelda.
There was a flicker in Zelda's eyes as they began to sting. "Where are you taking him?!"
Suddenly their hands held her back before she could rush forward. Zelda cried out for Astor as Rhoam and his attendants turned to leave, giving Astor another shove in the direction they were going.
A million horrible possibilities rushed through her mind. She was under no delusion that her father would deal with Astor kindly, especially if he were to ascertain Astor's former ties to the Calamity.
"What are they going to do to him?! Please, Someone, do something... Don't let them take him away!" Zelda implored pitifully, despairing because she knew none of them were going to defy her Father. Zelda dropped her head. "He's all… He's all I have…"
It was very soft, but everyone heard. Her pleas sounded all too familiar.. Rhoam halted, just for a moment to look back in irritation instead of pity as he had when she was young.
"Dammit, Zelda, show some self-control!" Rhoam said, angrily. "Your whining didn't work back then, what makes you think it will work now?"
Zelda looked hurt by his response, her shoulders shaking. Rhoam wondered if she remembered when he had confiscated the little Guardian she had named Terrako in a bid to get her to focus on her training. A decision that regrettably hadn't borne any fruit. Rhoam had almost cursed the late queen. Damn her for instilling such a love for Sheikah technology and relics in her daughter, which only proved to be a distraction for Zelda in awakening her divine power. That had been the most grievous flaw Rhoam saw in his wife.
Astor knew this was his moment to act. While the king was distracted, Astor phased past Rhoam like a restless spirit, knocking Rhoam off balance for a moment.
Zelda looked up and exhaled in surprise.
Astor came to a stop in front of Zelda, making a show of pulling her close. She clutched tightly to his robes, and for a moment everything else ceased. She was his and he was hers. She would have given much to live in that moment forever, relieved tears cascading down her cheeks.
"Her Highness is mine now. Have fun fighting the Calamity, Rhoam. You don't deserve her."
"Hylia on her throne! Stop him!" Rhoam ordered his knight attendants.
The men hesitated, fearful of the prophet's magical abilities. And in the blink of an eye, Astor raised his orb high, vanishing with Zelda in tow. Those that remained looked on in silent disbelief.
A short distance away, the scene was reflected in the 'eye' of Harbinger Ganon. Ganon knew it was winning, though that did not satisfy the being's intense all-encompassing rage. Its plans had still been disrupted. The weak-minded, disaffected Hylian man it had chosen to do its bidding in this age had somehow seen beyond the illusion of importance and power it had engineered for him. High above, the spirit of Calamity Ganon gave a shattering roar of detest for the goddess it knew was at work. And because of that vile goddess, the foolish bag of flesh was stepping out on him, even after all the power it had bestowed upon him. Ganon would simply take the man's ability to wield malice away. It would make sure the seer suffered tenfold for betraying him and choosing the girl who bore the goddess's blood. That pathetic mortal was supposed to remain loyal until his dying breath at its hand, for Ganon hated all life and showed no partiality even towards those who swore allegiance to it. It had been over ten millennia since Ganon had been mortal, and any memory of its past humanity or semblance of understanding human emotions had long perished. Calamity Ganon's inhuman hatred burned against the Hylian seer, rivaling its hatred for the hero and the young woman who bore the blood of the goddess. And so, the corrupted Guardian began to plot.

Please share this article, it important that you do so. These truths have to be told.
"Bethune’s name appeared in six reports in the House Committee on Un-American Activities and five times in Senate reports on people suspected of communist activity. While she was cleared of any involvement, the message was clear: Confronting racism and white supremacy is un-American."
"This is why white people are my bellwether."
"Whenever I am trying to decide whether or not a particular movement, policy or person benefits Black America, I wait and see what white people think. While that might sound racist, there has never been a movement, policy or person that benefitted Black America who was simultaneously embraced by white America. In this country, a stance against the trauma-inducing brickbat of whiteness is perceived as a stance against America. And anyone who disagrees can feel free to prove me wrong. Name one person who fought for Black liberation who white people agreed with."
"Whenever anyone does anything that includes the word “Black,” it immediately falls under the classification of Marxist and anti-whiteness. White people hate being left out, even though they are acutely aware that there is nothing more valuable in the known universe than a white life. White people will slit a Black baby’s neck for a white woman’s life."
"Let’s just say they will beat a Black baby to a bloody pulp, tie him to an industrial fan with barbed wire and toss his lifeless body off a bridge. Is that better?"
"But I understand why they vilify Black movements with Marxism."
"White people don’t know what Marxism is."
"According to a 1970 Harris Poll, 64 percent of Black Americans had a favorable view of the Panthers, while 92 percent of white Americans had a negative view. It’s probably because a lot of members of the Black Panther were Marxists, which is different from communism. Basically, Marxism is a way to examine history, economics and societies through the lens of class, while communism is actually Marx’s economic and political theory in which...wait. For a second I started to believe that there was some logic to white supremacy."
"White people hated the Panthers because they had guns and pushed for armed self-defense. For some reason, those America-hating negroes believed “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.”"
"I have no idea where they got that crazy idea from."
"Black people voting"
"Why white people don’t like it: States’ rights, something something, communism, something something it was a different time."
"When Black people marched on Selma for voting rights, they were called “communists.” The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was called “Un-American.” Of course, the 2020 election was about “socialism” because so many Black people voted."
"Southerners, conservatives and white people, in general, have never pushed for a single law to expand the electorate because they are the only true Americans."
"Critical Race Theory"
"Why white people didn’t like it: Because they don’t know what it is."
"This one is easy."
"The one thing that dumbfounds me about white supremacy is how much white people trust each other. They just trust the explanations for their fellow white people. In all this debate about CRT, I have yet to see one person who opposes CRT who can also explain what CRT is. And many of the legislators who are against funding K-12 teachers who absolutely do not teach CRT are already funding the leaders’ movement, such as Richard Delgado, the professor at state-supported Alabama Law School who wrote a little book called Critical Race Theory: An Introduction. "
"All they know is that it has the word “race” in it, so it must be bad."
"Legislators opposed the Civil Rights Act because it was “Marxist.” The House Committee on Un-American Activities investigated the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee for communism. The FBI did, too."
"In a 1964 New York Times survey, a majority of white people said that the “Negro civil rights movement had gone too far,” and a quarter of those people said their resentment was growing. They were right. Two years later, a 1966 Harris Survey, revealed that 85 percent of white respondents thought civil rights demonstrations “hurts the negro.”"
"Apparently, to white people, fighting racism is worse than racism."
"And if you think I’m kidding about white people not thinking Black people were smart, according to the National Opinion Research Center, it was not until 1963 that 50 percent of white people believed “Negroes” were born with the same intelligence as whites."
"History"
"Why white people don’t like it: Because white people might find out about some of the things white people did, which is racist."
"The fight against what politicians have deemed the Marxist, Un-American 1619 Project is actually a fight against teaching the history of slavery more accurately. And it is not new. White people said the same thing about teaching abolition. The United Daughters of the Confederacy said the same thing about the Civil War. White school districts in the North and South said the same thing about Jim Crow. And Black History Month."
"Plus if white kids learn about America’s racist past, they might start saying: “I’m not going to do that again,” and then, what will happen to white people?"
"Martin Luther King Jr."
"Why white people didn’t like him: He was a communist. He was anti-white. He was a Marxist."
"In 1966, a majority of white Americans had a negative opinion of King. When he died in 1968, 75 percent of Americans disapproved of him. Now they love him..."
"Because he’s dead."
"This is why we must never ignore white people."
"While we should never, ever do what white people collectively want, history has shown us that if something is good for Black people, white people will hate it. And if they vilify something as racist, communist or anti-white, you should take a second look because, nine times out of 10, it might be worth considering. When it comes to freedom and equality, the easiest thing to do is to see what white people have to say...
Then do the opposite."
I copied a lot of his article word for word those are Michael Harriot's words not my own.
The word's of people who commented.
"I was asking one of the few people on the Right side of politics I am still in touch with about why he hates CRT, and he sent me a link to a whole essay. It boiled down to a few leaps in logic:"
"1) the USSR used US race relations as a shield to deflect criticism of their own human rights record (“And in the USA, they hang n-words”)"
"2) therefore, any criticism of race relations was caused by Soviet propaganda (not, you know, by actually HANGING BLACK PEOPLE)"
"3) therefore any discussion of race relations was commie propaganda."
"4) therefore, any movement that calls attention to race is communist."
"It’s very similar to how the Communist League fired the original writer of The Communist Manifesto because he brought up ethnic minorities and racism and replaced him with Marx, outright rejecting any factor that so much as complicated their preconceived model. It also shares many of the issues raised in the “grievance studies” affair, being exegesis to elaborate and propound upon a founding scripture."
"That’s the most idiotic line of reasoning I ever heard. It’s so typical of white people as a group in this country that when someone points out some shit they did that’s fucked up that instead of you know, stopping the fucked up thing they basically say that the entity pointing out their fucked up shit is bad therefore bringing up solutions to the fucked up thing they did is wrong."
"Fuck the trolls, but if anyone is actually confused about the likelihood of any white person to trust any other white person over anyone at all who is even POSSIBLY not white, please refresh your memories regarding the multiple instances in the last several years of a Black person being anywhere near a house or building, then being approached by either a white guard, cop, or other self-important deputy of white fragility."
"In these instances, Black people are often believed to be up to no good even after they show ID proving they live in the building some white person has decided they don’t belong in. No amount of proof will have a fragile white self-deputy believing that even state-issued IDs are a real thing and this Black person lives in their own home."
"But when any white person walks by and says “Oh, this is _____, they live here”, immediately, that’s good enough to let this perceived criminal go into their home."
"Because any white stranger vouched in any sort of way."
"Literal evidence of address means nothing, but the word of ANY white person, with no proof of their authority, no hassle about “Well what are YOU doing here?!?”, just...instant belief of any white skin."
"Also, the main difference between Angela Davis and Assata Shakur is that Ms. Davis beat the system at its own game, the “proper” way. Racism couldn’t even beat her at their heavily-rigged game. Ms. Shakur ALSO beat the system, but because she didn’t get to win at a fully-rigged game, she found her own loophole and got out of this racist hellhole."
"Not that it matters, because they’re both the same to any racist. To me, they’re both brilliant heroes."
"If you asked these mouth breathers what they hate about CRT not only could they not tell you, they would call you “the real racist” for asking. There is no winning with these people because they refuse to see themselves as ANYTHING other than the good guys in any situation. It is fucking tiring to deal with this shit and yet they seem to not understand that we are more fucking tired than they are. With each comment, committee and talking point they pretty much prove that no white person could handle being anything other than well, white."
"To admit anything else would result in a reckoning. It will never happen and America will remain a racist society, with white culture pushing back and getting more extreme as each generation of BIPOC become more aware and angry over white supremacy. America will implode and whatever rises from the ashes will either be that reckoning with real change or a third world country."
Again I quoted these people

Hey I took ur ouran quiz and the questions were awesome and I did indeed get dragged to filth, as has everyone in the tags, but I think we're all too embarrassed to post pictures of our results bc the callouts were so accurate kjshdfkjsdhf but im so curious abt the others,,, would you mind posting all the descriptions you did? I'm so curious. either way thanks for a banger of a quiz!
AH omg i’m so glad people are enjoying it!! and im sorry that people are getting called out lol but I did try to warn you. im mad that uquiz doesn’t have a “see all results” feature but here are all of the descriptions!!
haruhi:
you give off main character energy but also don't give a shit about being the main character. if you got this answer you probably also relate to tamaki or kyoya but ONLY one of them. you have mixed feelings about the other. you don't think you can experience love the way everyone else talks about it. you crave physical touch but your intimacy issues prevent you from seeking it out so you're stuck wishing anyone else would initiate it and anticipate your needs. people have said that they were drawn to you and a GOOD number of people have told you that they liked you. 9/10 times their crush was unrequited. you're still friends with all of them. hope ur doing well with that gender crisis you're going through!
tamaki:
wow. you're truly a dramatic bitch. maybe people find you a little grating but you're charming enough that they still hang around you for some reason??? ur a big romantic and your expectations will never match reality. every time you pass a mirror you get caught up in your own reflection, even if you don't consider yourself attractive. your self esteem swings WILDLY between "i'm a terrible person and no one really likes me" and "i'm perfect and everyone wants to be me". you definitely have SOME kind of parental complex and you projected way too hard on disney movies in your childhood. how is your hyperfixation with beauty and the beast treating you now? you genuinely want to be a good person but you find that your actions often have unintended consequences. being a wine mom (or your gender equivalent) is absolutely in your future. you're pretentious as fuck and your favorite book is probably pride and prejudice or the picture of dorian gray or some fruity shit. also you're in love with your best friend and im sorry
kyoya:
you have written PARAGRAPHS of analysis about whatever show or movie you're hyperfixated on and definitely talked about it with people who aren't familiar with the source material. you're just a little bit of an asshole (or at least you think you are) but you have a close group of friends nonetheless. you're a good liar and everyone hates playing among us with you. debate is your love language. you wonder constantly why anyone likes you at all. despite this, you're surprisingly loyal (even beyond your own expectations). you like being in charge of a situation even if people don't view you as the leader outright. you're never manipulative with malicious intent but you enjoy seeing the influence you have on others. usually this amounts to introducing them to a new show or hobby. people have told you that they've liked you and your first instinct was to say "thank you, but no you don't". you're just emotionally unavailable enough to be ~intriguing~ but consider swallowing your pride enough to tell the people in your life that you love them.
hikaru:
you know that feeling where you make a joke and maybe one or two people really laugh at it but everyone else doesn't know how to respond? of course you do. you have a very defined sense of humor and you feel like there are only a handful of people who really get you. in reality, part of this stems from the fact that you judge other people, make assumptions, and are slow to forgive. you've definitely given a friend the silent treatment for DAYS... and what was it for? are you happy living life this way? do you so love believing yourself to be misunderstood? i promise there are other people out there who like your obscure interests just as much as you do. pause your early 00s pop punk for a second and get over urself.
kaoru:
are you excited for the big recital coming up? you must be, since you've been playing second fiddle for so long. you're probably disappointed with this response. you wanted to be a main character. you feel like sometimes ur a background character in your own life. most of your friends are people you met through pre-existing friendships and you pretty exclusively hang out in groups. you're a good person and people enjoy your company, but there's maybe only one or two people who would call you their BEST friend. that's okay. you feel the same way. you rarely come up with plans or jokes, but you can "yes and" like there's no tomorrow. maybe your life is a little boring, but at least its comfortable. it's a shame, though. there are a lot of people who could help bring you out of your comfort zone, if you'd let yourself leave your bubble every now and again.
honey:
so. you have a complex. that's okay! most people do. you just HAVE to be the hottest person at the supermarket or the friend that EVERYONE loves. you have a lot of friends but only a few people who really, truly know you. you use humor or flirting or playing dumb to deflect from the fact that you have a SHIT ton of walls up around you and you're afraid to let anyone beyond the facade you put up. you aren't hurting anyone by doing this, but it does get a little lonely sometimes. you like the attention you get, even if it's pretty surface-level. you have a weird thing about crying in front of other people: either you do it too often or you absolutely REFUSE to. you just want to be held. and honestly? don't we all.
mori:
holy shit. you're SEXY. you know EXACTLY when to shut the fuck up and it's hot. it's a double-edged sword, though. when was the last time you let yourself be someone's shoulder to cry on? and when was the last time YOU cried on someone else's shoulder? hm. might want to work on that. you don't think too highly of yourself, but you recognize you're a kind person. bit of a doormat tho. perhaps you've even been called "subservient". it's a shame you're so emotionally closed off, because your friends would honestly love for you to open up more. if you did anything competitive in high school--choir, drama, band, sports, etc.--you were never a soloist or the star player. you played defense, didn't you? you were in the chorus, weren't you? i bet you were in percussion (not the quads tho). your biggest flaw is that you refuse to acknowledge how important you are to other people. there's a gardener and a flower in every relationship, and it's time you started being the flower.

Fate and Phantasms #58: Tamamo Cat
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms, we’re making Chaldea’s favorite pet of indeterminate origin, Tamamo Cat! This strangely furry chef is an incredibly speedy fighter, zooming around the battlefield to deliver delicious treats and lots of scratches.
Check out the level-by-level breakdown below the cut, or the build summary over here!
Race and Background
Tamamo Cat is-as her name would suggest-a dog, so the closest fit for her is a Tabaxi. This gives you +2 Dexterity and +1 Charisma. You also get 60′ of Darkvision, Feline Agility, letting you double your speed for a turn. To recharge it, you have to take a nap and move 0 feet. Your Cat’s Claws give you a climbing speed of 20′, and you can deal 1d4 plus your strenght modifier in slashing damage instead of other unarmed attack damages. Finally, Dog’s Talent gives you proficiency in Perception and Stealth. You’re not really that subtle, but nobody pays attention to the comedy characters.
“Altered clone of a level 20 character” isn’t a background, but it is a traumatic event, so I’d call you a Haunted One. The only skills they have that match you is Investigation and Survival.
Stats
Your highest stat is going to be Strength. We don’t really use it after level 8, but it’ll be good to have it while we can. Second is Dexterity, you’re a cat, they’re pretty agile. Third is your Constitution, because you’re still a berserker, and not too good with the thinking. Your Wisdom is pretty high for a berserker; animals like you, because you are one. Your Charisma could be higher, but we need other stuff more. Finally, dump Intelligence. You know those pictures of cats where you can just tell there’s nothing but air between their ears? Nine times out of ten, that’s you. The other one time is why you’re a Haunted One.
Class Levels
1. Wizard 1: When you start as a wizard- just kidding, of course you’re a Barbarian. Starting as a barbarian nets you proficiency in Strength and Constitution saves, as well as two barbarian skills. You’re a dog, which is a type of animal, so Animal Handling tracks. cats are also good at running around like an idiot, so grab Athletics too.
First level barbarians can Rage, resisting bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, getting advantage on strength saves and checks, and adding extra damage to strength based attacks for a minute as a bonus action. It’ll also end early if you stop taking or dealing damage, but I wouldn’t worry about that. You also have Unarmored Defense, boosting your AC based on your Dexterity and Constitution. You’re more nimble than sturdy, so try to keep out of underfoot.
2. Barbarian 2: You can now Attack Recklessly, gaining advantage for a turn in exchange for giving advantage to others attacking you. The trick is to do more attacks by yourself than everyone attacking you can do back. Your canine reflexes also give you a Danger Sense, giving you advantage on dexterity saves to prevent damage from things you can see. Burning cat fur smells bad, so get out of the way of that fireball!
3. Barbarian 3: At third level, you set down a Primal Path. The Path of the Beast gives you a Form of the Beast when you start, giving you one of three natural weapons when you start a rage. Your Bite heals you once per turn when attacking, your Claws give you an extra attack each action, and your Tail has reach, and you can also fluff it up as a reaction to gain more ac against a single attack. You ever get an ingrown hair? What about several thousand at once? That’s why your tail does damage.
4. Barbarian 4: For your first ASI grab the new Chef feat from the new Feats Unearthed Arcana. Add one to your Wisdom score, and you get proficiency with cook’s utensils. During short rests, you can bard it up and prepare food for at least 6 creatures, adding another each time your proficiency bonus goes up. Any creatures who eats with you adds an extra 1d8 to their healing if they use any hit dice. After an hour of work (or a long rest), you can also make a number of treats equal to you proficiency bonus that last 8 hours. Anything that eats one of those as a bonus action gains your proficiency bonus in temporary HP. If this existed when I was making EMIYA, I would’ve squeezed it in somewhere, I swear.
5. Druid 1: Now that our wisdom is up to snuff, we can begin the traditional multiclassing! First level druids learn Druidic, a special language nobody in your party will likely know. That’s fine though, it’s not like they know what you’re talking about anyway. You can also cast first level Spells using Wisdom as your casting ability.
For cantrips, grab Primal Savagery for even more ways to claw people to death (albeit not very well, it uses wisdom) and Druidcraft so you’ll know if it’s a good day to nap on the windowsill. Druids can prepare spells, so you can swap them out as you feel necessary. I’d stick with spells that don’t need their saves to be high though, like Cure Wounds for some fast food or Longstrider because it’s not like you’ll be fast enough by the end of this.
6. Druid 2: Second level druids join a Circle. The moon’s a circle, and you yell at it sometimes, so that’s as good a pick as any. A Moon Druid’s features affect their Wild Shape. You’re willing to do things Tamamo Vanilla won’t, and that includes shapeshifting! Your Combat Wild Shape means you can transform as a bonus action, and you can use your spell slots to gain health while transformed. Your Circle Forms instantly max out your CR to 1, but you still can’t swim or fly. One important quirk of wild shape is that you can use other class’s features while transformed. We’ll be abusing that shortly.
7. Barbarian 5: Back in barbarians, you get an Extra Attack, letting you attack twice as an action (or three times with your special claws). You also have Fast Movement, adding 10′ to your movement speed while not wearing heavy armor.
8. Monk 1: Speaking of extra attacks and moving fast, have I mentioned you’re a monk now? Because you’re a monk now. You get another kind of Unarmored Defense that uses Wisdom instead of constitution and is therefore worse. You also gain Martial Arts.
You can use Dexterity instead of Strength when making unarmed attacks. The rules are a bit fuzzy on whether or not your rage weapons count as “unarmed”, but your normal claws do, so I say there’s precedent.
You can also use a d4 instead of your normal damage with unarmed or monk attacks, but all your attacks do more than that already, so ignore that.
Finally, attacking with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon lets you use your Bonus Action for another unarmed strike.
That means you can now make four attacks per turn if using claws while enraged, even while in a wild shape. Is this a bit silly? Yes. Are you a bit silly? Also yes, so let’s abuse this even more.
9. Monk 2: Second level monks get Unarmored Movement, adding another 10′ to your movement speed while not wearing any armor. You also learn to channel your Ki for some bonus abilities.
Patient Defense lets you take the dodge action as a bonus action.
Step of the Wind doubles your jump distance, and you can disengage or dash as a bonus action.
Flurry of Blows uses your bonus action to make two unarmed attacks. This means that you can now get in five attacks per turn while raging, a.k.a. that thing fighters can’t do until level 20. You’re doing this at level 9.
10. Monk 3: You’re not really one for a Tradition, Monastic or otherwise, but alcohol pairs well with food, so let’s become a Drunken Master. This gives you proficiency in Performance, because you do know a couple tricks, and Brewers Supplies, because you should be able to make a full meal on your own. You also learn the Drunken Technique. When you use your Flurry of Blows, you also disengage, and add another 10′ to your movement speed for the rest of the turn. 60′ of movement, disengaging, and five attacks in a single turn is pretty good for the action economy.
You also learn how to catch frisbees like a good girl with Deflect Missiles. Use your reaction to reduce the damage of a ranged attack, and if it drops to 0 you can spend some ki to throw it back.
11. Monk 4: Use your last level in Monk to grab another ASI, and round up your Constitution and Strength for less round numbers, more AC and health, and maybe more attack damage if you want to use every part of your rage. You also learn how to Slow Fall, a reaction you can take to reduce falling damage by 20 points. Cats land on their feet, and now so do you.
12. Barbarian 6: Finally back in your main class, you gain a Bestial Soul, making your rage weapons magical for overcoming damage resistances. After a short or long rest, you can also choose to gain a swimming speed and the ability to breathe underwater, check free climbing, or a big boost to your jump distance.
13. Barbarian 7: Your Feral Instinct kicks in, giving you advantage on initiative rolls, and you can ignore being surprised if you go into a rage. For once I’ve made a barbarian build where going into a rage is always a good thing, so go nuts.
14. Barbarian 8: Use your next ASI for more dexterity, which means more AC, and more accurate/damaging attacks. If your DM’s ruled that your rage weapons don’t work for martial arts, go strength instead.
15. Barbarian 9: You get your first Brutal Critical, adding an extra die to your damage each time you roll a natural 20. You’re probably rolling 10 d20s a turn right now, so that shouldn’t be an issue.
16. Barbarian 10: Tenth level beasts have an Infectious Fury. If you hit a creature with your rage weapons, you can force it to make a wisdom save against your constitution. On a failure, you can either force it to attack another creature, or deal 2d12 Psychic damage. I’m not saying it’s rabies, but it’s probably rabies.
17. Barbarian 11: Your Rage is now Relentless! If you would fall to 0 hp while raging, you can instead make a constitution save to stay at 1 HP. Each success increases the DC, but it also resets on short rests.
18. Barbarian 12: Use your last ASI for more Constitution to get more health, more AC, and more and better Infectious Furies.
19. Barbarian 13: You get a second helping of Brutal Critical, making your claws even sharper than before. Scratching posts beware!
20. Barbarian 14: Your final level grabs you the final Beast barbarian feature, Call the Hunt. When you go into a rage, you can give a number of creatures equal to your constitution modifier the Reckless Attack feature, and advantage on saves against being frightened. Each creature that accepts this gift in return gives you 5 Temporary hit points. You can only give this to three creatures normally, but Wild Shape also swaps out your physical stats, so get creative.
Pros:
You have a lot of attacks at a very low level, and you can go even lower if you swap the monk and druid levels around. Add in your reckless nature and brutal crits, and the other Tamamos will be your scratching post before too long.
You’re very fast, even in wild shapes, thanks to your Fast Movement, Feline Agility, and Unarmored Movement joining together for more speed than you’ll know what to do with.
You have a pretty good AC and a lot of health, which would normally make you pretty hard to kill. You can also switch into some pretty chunky wild shapes for even more toughness, just in case you never want to die.
Cons:
Just like Caligula, all your damage comes from your body, so flying enemies will cause you some problems.
Most of your stat improvements went into your Physical stats, which get swapped out the second you use a wild shape. This means your strongest defensive option is as good at level 6 as it will be at level 20, which just feels bad.
You don’t have a lot of Ki, so the worst of your rampages will get cut short pretty quickly. Thankfully you can take some catnaps between fights to get them back.
So yeah, hunt all night, sleep all day, and don’t be afraid to get a bit beastly.
Next up: Jenny from the Arc!

A Mark and A Soul||CH 3
Summary: The next morning Cara tries to figure out how to avoid any sort of incriminating conversations when things get more complicated.
A/N: Hi! So Here there is mentioned a background WLW Ship. It’s not going to be a huge part but it’s there and IDK if anyone but me in this world ships it but ya know.... it’s small. Also look more chapters. Let’s keep going right?
Prologue, Ch 1 , Ch2,  AO3
It wasn’t much of a surprise to Cara when she woke up alone. She hadn’t expected to have him there wrapped around her when she woke up, though a small traitorous voice in her mind said she’d have liked that. Other than the bottles on the floor and a foggy dream of Din kissing her, there was no hint of the Mandalorian in the room. Her body, however, had a keen reminder of everything that had happened the night before. She sat up clutching a thin sheet over her chest -- a sheet she knew she hadn’t pulled up herself.
Images of the night before played in her head. She wasn’t some school girl still fumbling with boys behind trees on Alderaan. She’d had plenty of one night stands before and even a few instances of more drawn out but equally casual interactions. It was rare on Alderaan for people to ‘betray’ their soulmates by being with someone else; it happened here and there. None of those interactions had her replaying scenes from the night before quite like what she’d had with Din. She still felt his lips on hers in a bruising passion, still felt his hands roaming over her seeking places that would make the most impact on her. She could still hear his voice in her ear as his hot breath tickled her skin. Those memories alone would have her hitting the fresher if she wasn’t careful.
As if on cue, there was a knock on the thick metal door. “Yeah?” she called out in a rasping voice. Somehow it was no surprise when the door opened, and he was standing there in his full armor.
He seemed to hesitate for a moment at the sight of her, but walked in and closed the door behind him. “I brought you some caf and breakfast,” he said, holding out a plate of indiscernible food matter and a steaming cup. She knew it was impossible but somehow she could have sworn she could feel his eyes roaming over her form under the thin sheet. Call her crazy, but she was pretty sure he was blushing too.
“Thanks.”
She reached out, taking the cup with one hand still holding the sheet over her chest. He set the plate aside and looked like he was about to sit on the bed for a second before he changed his mind.
“About--” he started, but she instantly cut him off. No way he was finishing that sentence.
“So what’s the plan?” she asked instead. That wasn’t a conversation she was willing to have right now. There were too many ways it could go, and she wasn’t ready for any of them.
“That--I?” His confusion was clear in his voice. Somewhere under that helmet was a wrinkled brow and a slight frown, along with an agape jawline surrounded by a scruff she still felt the marks of on some of the more sensitive places on her body. His dark eyes were probably searching her face for a clue of what she meant.
She tried not to laugh at the images she now had in her mind to match a face with the expressions she always read in his voice. “Bib Fortuna,” she supplied, and he seemed to register as she took a slow sip of her caf praying for the magical substance to work its marvels with her sleep deprived mind.
“Right. Fortuna. Fett and Shand wanted to go in the front door. Fett wanted to use the ship to give coverfire while you and Shand go in and take out the guards inside.”
Cara let out a scoff as she arched her brow. “Seriously? He wants to take out one of the worst crime lords in the galaxy with a loud frontal assault? Like he doesn’t have escape tunnels?”
Din let out a chuckle under his helmet and shrugged, “That’s what I said.”
She smiled a bit at him, holding back a laugh. He moved to sit on the foot of the rack giving them plenty of space between them, but still closer.
“Really?” she asked, not really believing him.
“I was a little less blunt, but the meaning was there.” he admitted, and she laughed.
“Sure,” she said, leaning back, allowing the sheet to slip down her chest a little as she placed both hands around her caf mug, “but it could still work with a smaller distraction. If it’s quiet or if we can scout how many guards he has, then you and I can go in first and Shand can snipe from farther back?”
As she took a long sip of her caf, she waited for his response. Din’s helmet didn’t move in the least, but she could somehow tell his eyes flicked from her face to the place where the sheet was barely keeping her modest. Was he even listening?
“We can talk about that upstairs.” he offered, but he sounded distracted. She knew she was attractive, and after last night, he was clearly attracted to her. Soulmate facts aside, he had made it very clear that he was physically attracted to her. Feeling his eyes and hearing his voice was still a boost to the ego, though. She casually picked up a piece of fruit from the breakfast plate and popped it into her mouth, licking her fingers and lips, but continued on like she wasn’t trying to all but torture him with her current movements. She’d always been a big fan of playing with fire.
“You’ve already been up there, right? What’s going on? Still fighting?” she asked, sucking the last of the fruit’s juice off her fingers. It was very good if a little sweet but she wasn’t in this for the fruit. She could nearly see the gears turning in his head. Was it mean to do this to the poor armored man in front of her? Absolutely yes. Was she also enjoying that cruelty immensely? Also very much yes.
After a pause, he finally cleared his throat and spoke, rasping, “They haven’t come out yet. It’s still early.”
“Did I steal your caf?” she asked, pointing to the now half-empty mug that had joined the plate on the rackside table.
He shook his head just slightly “No I umm… I locked them out of the kitchenette.” He admitted a bit sheepishly.
She tilted her head and arched an eyebrow at him. “You barricaded the door instead of just coming in here to eat?” she asked, a bit pointedly. If he was going to feel awkward about everything or if he was going to put himself or others into uncomfortable situations, then she’d have to talk to him. She’d still avoid the feelings thing, she didn’t do those, but other parts.
“They didn’t mind,” he assured her awkwardly, “I mentioned you were still sleeping.”
“And they just gave you free reign?” she asked, not believing him for a second. There had to be more to it.
“Well, Shand was going through fighting forms, and I think Fett is afraid of you,” he explained, making her laugh. “He said I could take my time.”
“You punch one wall,” she said, rolling her eyes jokingly at the memory of when she’d gotten a little too pissed off at how long everything was taking and needed to let out some steam.
“You dented his ship,” Din pointed out, and she could hear the laugh in his voice.
“Barely! It wasn’t even that hard of a punch,” she scoffed, but the smile on her face was unmistakable. They laughed and sat in silence for a moment as she ate more of her meal a little less sexually this time. She could sense him fighting with himself about what to say next, what to do. She knew she wouldn’t be able to face that conversation quite yet, so she diverted it. “You might wanna get upstairs. If I don’t get dressed, they might think I killed you and get a whole damn show.”
“Right,” he said, nodding “I’ll see you upstairs then.” As he turned, he paused at the door as though he wanted to say something, but stopped himself and walked out. She sighed into her knees and realized this was going to be so much harder now.
Cara managed her way upstairs leaving the plate to deal with later but taking the cup of caf with her. She walked into the main hull and took up her post, leaning comfortably on a wall watching Fett and Din chart a course. It didn’t take long before Bo-Katan and Koska walked in as well. “After talking it over, we’ve elected to stay and assist you with your mission.” Kryze announced to the room.
It certainly pulled everyone’s attention. Fett looked ready to start another fight, and Cara stood up straighter as Din walked closer to the two women. “What brought on the change of heart?” he asked, sounding more curious than anything. Something in Cara’s mind said he was suspicious though, and so was she if she was being honest.
“You have the dark saber. It’s our duty to protect you.” Koska said bluntly. Cara arched a brow at the woman and tried not to laugh as she walked up behind Din.
“He doesn’t need protecting. And even if he did, he has back-up,” she challenged, staring her down.
Koska looked ready to speak up, but Bo-Katan was the one who actually got the words out first. “The position of the Mand’alor is important to reclaiming our planet and people. As you’ve decided to work with Fett and his goals, it is in the best interest for our people to ensure that you have the best support in that endeavor.” Cara hated politicians. She found the people in charge of governments to be generally despicable people, and while she had no issues with Bo-Katan and actually respected the woman as a fighter, sometimes, when she opened her mouth, Cara wanted to punch her. It didn’t help that Kryze still looked like she was tempted to challenge Din for the saber, and Cara wasn’t entirely convinced the woman wouldn’t try and take it by force at an inopportune time.
“So you’re going to help without throwing a fit?” Fett shot back in a mocking tone, and Cara could see the anger flash in the two women’s eyes in front of her and had no doubt that it was matched in the eyes of the clone behind her.
“They would be helpful,” Din suggested, deflecting the rising tension in the room, “It couldn’t hurt to have more hands. They’ve already proved they can work well with Cara and Shand. The four of us could easily take out any forces on the ground, and you and Shand could use the distraction to get Fortuna.” Cara did not have enough caf for this. She just stood over his shoulder, letting the others make the decision. She was here for Din. She’d never pretended she had an ulterior motive. Sure, getting Gideon was great, she loved that little bit of revenge, but Din and the kid had been her first priorities, and now that the kid was gone, Din remained her reason for staying.
“We did make a good team and six heads are better than four.” Fennec spoke up for the first time from her corner of the room. “They’re talented fighters,” she added, sounding more like she was reminding Boba than anything else.
“It never hurts to have a few more Mandalorians around,” Boba relented, eventually nodding at them, though something in the tone felt sarcastic. “It’ll be quite the asset to have you both.”
“Great, we have a whole team. I’m getting more caf.” Cara deadpanned, walking past Din as he made eye contact with her. She could feel the question in his eyes, but she smirked and held up the mug as her only answer. No amount of military training could stop the fact that she was not a morning person.
Cara walked down towards the kitchen area and was nearly to the door when she heard the armor behind her. She turned expecting to see Din and was instead met with Koska and Bo-Katan. “Marshal Dune.” Bo-Katan greeted with that appeasing look that reminded her of one too many political missions.
“Yes?” she asked, glancing between the two. It was strange being face-to-face and alone with them. That wasn’t something she’d experienced yet and somewhere in her gut, she braced for a fight.
“What are your intentions with the Mandalorian?” Bo asked, to Cara’s annoyance.
“Which one?” she asked, trying to evade the question because that was a whole can of worms she didn’t want to deal with.
“Funny.” Koska scoffed sarcastically, but both kept a calm facade.
“Look, I don’t see why it’s any of your business, but he and I are friends, and I’ve got his back,” she said flatly, staring the two of them down, threatening them to say something about it.
Bo Katan nodded, “Very admirable to be certain, but he is the Mand’alor now whether he likes it or not. That Saber comes with power and responsibility. As such we, as Mandalorians, serve at the pleasure of the Mand’alor.”
Cara scoffed and rolled her eyes.
“Right. Ok. I’m sure he’ll love hearing that,” she said as she bit back a laugh.
“It's our job to keep him safe. That includes keeping him away from enemies in friends' clothing,” Bo explained smoothly, leading Cara to straighten at the implications. She felt the overwhelming urge to punch the woman in front of her for even thinking that she would ever hurt Din. Even so, she refused to acknowledge the small voice whispering, ‘Aren’t you hurting him by not saying you’re his soulmate?’
“And you came to talk to me?” she challenged.
“You are the one closest to him, are you not?” Koska pointed out. Cara raised her jaw and lifted her eyebrows looking for the reason that would matter. She supposed it would be a threat, someone close to Din could be the one to hurt him. She wasn’t going to do that, and she wasn’t going to let someone else do it either.
“Interesting you have such strong loyalty to him.” Bo probed lightly.
“What can I say, I’m a sucker for a man in armor,” she quipped, trying to steer them away from digging deeper. Without thinking, she swept some of her hair out of her face, tucking it to the side, before realizing her slip. Koska was close enough to get a flash of her mark, which wouldn’t have been a problem before last night.
“You’re his soulmate.” Koska said simply, making Bo Katan’s eyes light up.
Cara approached Bo with just this side of threatening, even as Koska stood between them. She couldn’t help but notice the two seemed to have black marks just poking out over their armor in the same place. “Does he know?” Bo asked, pulling Cara's attention, “Surely even a Child of the Watch would find it impossible to hold their vows fighting beside their soulmate.”
“No, he doesn’t. What vows?”
Bo Katan sighed, looking at her with a mix of pity and sympathy that made Cara want to lash out.
“He is a member of a … specific group of Mandalorians. They call themselves the Children of the Watch. They are a group of religious zealots who broke off from Mandalore just after the Purge. They believe in an ancient Way and wish to bring it back to all Mandalorians. They believe a warrior is the tribe and the tribe the warrior. As such they renounce their face, their names, and their soulmates.”
Cara wasn’t entirely sure why she felt like she’d just been punched in the gut.
Had Din renounced her? Had he sworn her away the same way he had his name or face? Was what they did last night the same as taking off his helmet? Why had he let her then? Did he know?
“It doesn’t matter.”
“Of course it matters,” Bo insisted, aiming for gentleness and missing horribly.
“No, it doesn’t!” she hotly reiterated, as her insides raged against the news of Din’s vows to reject his soulmate.
“You’re a liability to him,” Koska observed. Cara was about ready to fight her when she saw the look in both Koska and Bo’s eyes.
“Whether he knows or not, he is connected to you. The bond that connects soulmates starts far before skin-to-skin contact. He is already connected to you even if neither of you knows it, and the possibility of losing you is a vulnerability in him. He is a leader and a warrior, you know this. As such you have a responsibility to him and to everyone he leads to protect him.”
This time, it wasn’t the flowery language of a politician Cara had thought earlier of Bo. It was from the heart. Once again, Cara’s eyes flicked between the women as Bo seemed to forget herself and put a hand on Koska’s arm.
In that moment, Cara felt a connection to Koska, recognizing a kinship built on two people in the same position. She nodded shortly. “You two?” Koska nodded, pulling down her shirt enough to see the small black marks entangling in a way only Bo and Koska would understand, nearly reminiscent of the owl painted on Bo’s helmet.
“What are you suggesting?”
“We want to help you keep him safe and ensure he makes the best decisions for himself and Mandalore,” Bo explained, “His connection with Boba Fett is fine for now, but finding other Mandalorians and reclaiming our home needs to be a priority.”
Cara had to fight the urge to roll her eyes.
“And you think I’m going to help him go along with whatever you want? If you want the saber so badly, you can take it. He offered it. You can go reclaim your planet on your own.”
“It’s a fight to the death,” Koska grit out, “to regain the honor of the saber after losing it to an enemy would mean proving beyond a doubt that the other is unworthy of the might of Mand’alore. It would either end in banishment or death.”
If the missive had come from Bo-Katan, Cara would have heard it as a threat. Coming from Koska, she understood what it really was. This was a warning for her and a sign of respect that Cara deserved the whole story of what she was getting into. If Din and Bo were to fight, Koska and Cara would be in the same position where having a dead soulmate was the best case scenario.
Cara nodded her understanding. “I’m not going to push him to do anything he doesn’t want to do. He’s his own person; he can make his own decisions.”
“Of course!” Bo Katan said in an airy tone that made Cara want to hit her again. “We would never suggest you push him into anything. He clearly already has a heart for people and Mandalore. Marshal Dune, I am certain you only wish to protect him, but part of protecting him is making sure he does what’s right. Keeping him from doing what he’ll regret. I just hope your Republic ties don’t end up causing friction between the two of you. You clearly care for him very much.”
Cara scoffed. “Great. Can I get my caf now?”
“Of course. Please, enjoy.” Bo said airily, but Cara could tell she'd gotten just a bit under the woman's skin. She felt a small rush of pride as Bo started towards the ladder.
Koska took an extra second, just looking at the woman. The two met eyes in a solid look that felt oddly even. If Koska’s soulmate weren’t so tough to handle, Cara was pretty sure she and Koska would have a blast together.
“You should tell him,” Koska said, “before it’s too late. It’s better to have a little bit in the hard times than to stand there waiting to have everything in the easy ones.”
Cara didn’t respond as the woman walked away and up the stairs. She swallowed, turning away, suddenly wanting something a hell of a lot stronger than caf. Not even a few seconds passed as she heard the sound of lightly grazing armor behind her before a tingling sensation hit her back. She felt more than heard him settle as he waited.
“How much did you hear?” she asked.

DeLeon (Pt.1)
BAU x OC Aundreya
Masterlist | Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Summary: Aundreya and the team have to devise a plan to get Spencer back safely, which could mean tossing Aundreya back into the belly of the beast. Story twenty-four.
Category: Angst, but I end with some angsty-fluff?
Warnings: Cussing. Another kidnapping. Some torture, like getting hit, kicked, and some knife cuts involved. Think about that scene when Emily took a beating for Spencer in Minimal Loss. Forced drug use.
Word Count: 3.5k
A/N: Here we go again with more problems. But we might just fix them this time. Also, I’m not sure how accurate my drug information is.
Stitching yourself up hurts like a bitch. It requires lots of alcohol in all capacities. I may have knocked out the fist guy, but the other two were good. One of them opened up a nice gash in my left leg with my own goddamn knife, which I finished stitching and started wrapping. I tried my best not to pass out, but I came close at least three times.
Once I wrapped it, I hobbled to my bedroom to change clothes. I didn’t have time to worry about the blood on them, or in the living room for that matter, and just tossed them to the side. I threw on a new shirt and a skirt. I hated skirts, but they would be the least restrictive on my wound, which I didn’t have time to worry about because the team needed my help to find Spencer, not to mention, what on earth was I going to do with the dead body in the middle of my apartment?
Up the ‘pass out attempt counter’ to four.
I limped back out of my bedroom, stepped over the man's body that finally stopped bleeding all over my rug, and grabbed my jacket and phone to head to the BAU, locking the door firmly shut behind me.

“What took you so long?” JJ hissed as I entered the bullpen.
Nearly all of my focus was on how I was walking, making sure that I didn’t look as crippled as I felt, so I could barely comprehend what she had just asked. She stared at me expectantly for a few seconds before I realized that was my cue to answer her. “Problem with my car. Sorry.”
I quickly searched for a seat while Hotch started reviewing what we had, “We know that Reid was taken between 8 and 11pm earlier tonight. If DeLeon sticks to our profile, he should still be somewhere in the immediate DC area. I visited Clyde in the hospital and he said he got the license plate numbers, but we’re sure DeLeon’s ditched those by now.”
“I ran those and the car was abandoned six miles away from Spencer’s apartment heading east,” Penelope chimed in.
“JJ, will you call local PD to begin blocking roadways and shutting down everything within a ten mile radius of Reid’s apartment?” Hotch requested, but it was more of a command.
“Absolutely,” JJ replied, already halfway out the door.
“Chambers, are you still willing to host a press conference about why we are shutting the area down?”
“Yes,” I said.
“Great. We have a script, but you mentioned adding in something so that DeLeon would know where to meet you, or if he’s already set up, to send you the location?” Hotch confirmed.
“Yes,” I repeated. I tried hard to focus on how I was going to send him that message, or elicit one out of him, instead of the throbbing artery in my leg.
“Chambers,” Morgan whistled twice to get my attention, “Chambers!”
“Yeah, what?” I faltered.
“Are you doing okay? You look a little pale,” he observed.
“No, I’m fine,” I insisted.
“Are you sure?” he pushed.
“Yes, I’m good. I’m ready,” I assured. I stood up, which was a colossal mistake on my part, having not evaluated my current situation.
“No you’re not, you’re bleeding,” Emily said, concern coating her face.
“I’m what?” The question flew out of my mouth before my head caught up. I looked down to see a steady stream of blood running down my leg. I whispered, “Oh.”
“What happened, sit down,” Emily suggested, walking over to me.
“Oh, nothing, I’m sure it’s fine,” I shrugged. “Put me on air.”
“Are you out of your mind?” Derek asked. “You can’t go out like that.”
“Another one?” Hotch confirmed, calm as ever. I just nodded.
“Another one of what?” Emily turned to face Hotch. He raised his eyebrows as he tilted his head toward me, his silent way of passing the question off. Emily brown eyes trained on my own.
“Another break in.”
“What?” both her and Derek asked at the same time. Derek followed with, “Break in?”
“Yes, break in,” I confirmed, reaching down to pull up my skirt, exposing the source of the blood. “It’s been going on for a few months now.”
“A few months?” Derek repeated.
“Repeating what I say is not going to help,” I attempted a joke.
“Why are we just now hearing about this?” Emily stepped back in.
I looked down, “There’s nothing you could’ve done to change it.”
“Yes! We could’ve added more locks, or higher security, or-”
I cut her off with a demeaning scoff, “Oh come on. You think the people who have the guts to come after me are going to shy away from some locks or security systems? That’s not exactly how this works.”
“We could’ve been there,” she firmly hissed between her teeth.
“Why?” I legitimately wanted to know, “So you could’ve lost as much sleep as I have? So you could’ve come out with as many bruises as cuts as me? So you could’ve ended up as one of the dead bodies in my living room? No thanks.”
“One of the dead bodies in your living room?” Derek’s eyebrows were still drawn in concern.
“Did I say dead body?” I questioned. Smooth, bitch. “I don’t recall mentioning a dead body.”
He sighed and shook his head. “You are impossible.”
“Yes, and while this is quite fascinating chit-chat, can we please refocus on our main issue?” I redirected.
I hadn’t noticed Rossi had left the room until he came back, plopping an FBI grade medical kit on the table in front of me. I gave him a tight lipped smile and a nod, my way of saying thank you. He returned a single nod, letting me know he got the message. I started patching myself back up, while trying to think of the best way to get the right message to DeLeon.
When it was time for me to face the cameras, I felt I looked sufficiently professional with my hair brushed and an absence of blood on my leg.
I walked out of the building to a stupid amount of cameras, and felt blinded by the number of lights in my eyes. It was as dark as the night could get, completely cloud covered preventing any sort of moonlight from seeping through, and I wasn’t sure how many people were watching breaking news at 12:20am, but there was really only one person who needed to see it. Well, maybe two.
“Good evening, I’m Agent Pincher with the behavioral analysis unit of the FBI. Earlier tonight, we received a report of a theft and kidnapping from a local bar and club, and believe the perpetrator, Mr. Robbi Raymond, to be armed and dangerous. We ask that all residents within the DC and surrounding areas stay in their homes and get off the roads as soon as possible while we do everything we can to find this man and bring him to justice,” I presented. The reporters all started firing questions at me, all of which I ignored, turning around to head back inside the building. Where it was quiet.
“Why’d we even give you a script,” Rossi playfully sighed, “if you’re not even going to use it?”
“I used it. Kind of,” I smiled.
“Who the hell is Agent Pincher?” he asked, “And how does that relate to DeLeon?”
I was about to answer him, but I started seeing stars. My vision got fuzzy and it sounded like Rossi’s voice was playing from a muffled radio a hundred feet from me. I reached out for something, anything, and barely felt fabric over my fingertips before I felt nothing at all.

Pass out counter: 1.
There was something cold and wet dripping down my forehead and thigh. I blinked my eyes open only to get a freezing cold water droplet in one of them. I sat up, causing the ziploc bag of half-melted ice to fall to the floor. I was back in the round table room laying on the couch, Penelope sitting in a chair next to me.
“Morning,” she chirped. I looked down at my leg which also had a bag of ice on it and a fresh set of bandages. After realizing that, I made a move to get up. Penelope placed one of her soft hands on my shoulder and said, “Slow down, we wouldn’t want you passing out again.”
I ignored her thoughtful comment, and went to fully stand up. “Have we heard anything yet?”
Penelope looked at me awkwardly for a moment, like she didn’t know how to answer. They told her not to tell me about it. “What is it, Pen?”
“I’m not supposed to say anything,” she admitted.
“Come on, please,” I begged, “You know I can help. What happened?”
“They got a message saying ‘See you there.’ They’re trying to figure out where ‘there’ is,” Penelope informed me.
“Fantastic,” I smiled, “If you let me outta here, I can go tell them where there’ is.”
“Why don’t you tell me, and I’ll go tell them,” she smiled and nodded enthusiastically.
I mirrored her smile, but shook my head instead, “Why don’t I just tell them myself.”
“Aundreya, please,” she pleaded.
“Penelope,” I mimicked, “please. This is Spencer’s life we’re talking about.”
She seemed torn for a few moments before relenting, “Fine.” She let me go, but called after me, “You really do love him, don’t you?”
I shyly smiled, and deflected, “I’ve got to go save him.”
She nodded and I felt her eyes on me all the way out the door.

“You have to keep it on the whole time,” Derek reminded me.
“I know,” I was irritated, “You’ve told me that three times now.”
“The entire time. Don’t take it off of your own free will.”
“I will smack you,” I warned, adjusting my skirt, making sure that the wire was expertly hidden. I knew he was doing it to annoy me and kind of joke around to keep me lighthearted before I went in, but it was really just amplifying my nerves.
“Unless he searches you and finds it, you keep it on the whole - ow!” Derek started. I’d slapped him across the arm. Hard.
“What? I gave you a heads up,” I pointed out.
“Are you ready to go?” Aaron asked, walking over to where I was standing.
“Yes,” I confidently replied.
“Good. We will be listening the whole time,” he assured. I nodded, took a deep breath, and headed toward the gentlemen’s club entrance.
I walked in to find that it was completely empty, as it should’ve been considering the road blocks and evacuations. It felt eerie, though, walking into an environment I was used to that bustled with people, now completely silent. It felt beyond wrong.
I started whistling, “Oh DeLeon, where are you?” When I got no response, I tried again, “DeLeon, I know you’re in here.”
I felt the air shift around me before I heard, “Behind you, babe.”
I ducked as I spun around, making sure to dodge any possible headshots he was planning. I was right to do so, because when I could fully face him, he was holding a half filled glass bottle of whiskey. “Where’s Spencer?”
“Aww, your precious little baby agent,” he mockingly cooed, rolling his eyes, “He’s not here.”
“You know, for as good of a criminal as you are, you’re a pretty shitty liar,” I commented.
He completely ignored me as he changed the subject, “I have to admit, that broadcast you put out was pretty clever. Agent Pincher and Robbi Raymond? Made this venue very easy to pick.”
“I try,” I shrugged. He and I had first met in a club in Chicago that was owned by a very rich man named Robbi Raymond. He owned multiple strip clubs across the country, and the one we were standing in right now was one of them. Or, at least, used to be. Raymond went bankrupt after falling for an elaborate scam set up by the Cloaks, one that I helped complete when I pick-pocketed him during a lap dance, finally getting my first bit of recognition. DeLeon and his boys nicknamed me Pocket Pincher. “I made things easy for you, so why don’t you make things easy for me. Where’s Spencer?”
“He’s not here,” DeLeon repeated.
I huffed, “Sure, not in this exact room, but I know he’s here somewhere. Where has your creativity taken you this time? The back room? Behind the stage?”
“Why don’t you let me lead you there?” he suggested. I gestured for him to start walking, but he didn’t budge. “Blindfolded.”
I scoffed, “And why on earth would I trust you to blindly lead me to a dark room where you could kill us both?”
He shrugged, “That depends on how much you want to see your little not-boyfriend again.”
I glared at him for a long while, hating how his smirk grew ever so slightly at my silence. He knew it would eventually turn into a yes. “Fine.”
“Fantastic,” he sang, walking to the other side of me. A shiver ran down my spine at the mere thought of having him out of eyesight, but I didn’t really have a choice. I don’t know where the blindfold came from, but it was over my eyes in seconds, and completely blacked out. He then placed a hand on my back, which I squirmed away from, but he grabbed the hem of my shirt and tugged.
When he lifted it up, exposing my back to the stale club air, I demanded, “Get your hands off me!”
“What? Can’t a guy admire his handiwork?” he asked, reminding me of yet another scar he left on my body.
“Don’t touch me,” I bit, “I’ll just follow your voice as long as you tell me which directions to turn.” I couldn’t have him leading me blindly to where Spencer was without letting the team know how to get there.
“I don’t think so,” he said, reaching up behind my hair to yank on the small wire that was placed there. “I wouldn’t want it to be that easy to find.”
I am in big, big trouble. “Lead the way, then,” I spat. He did, placing his hand back on my back and leading me down multiple hallways and a variety of left turns, all of which I tried to keep track of, until he ripped the blindfold off my eyes.
We were in a small, what I guessed to be a VIP, dance room with two poles and a lavish red velvet couch. Tied to one of those poles was Spencer Reid. I was about to call out to him when DeLeon clapped his scruffy, clammy hand over my mouth, pulled out a gun, and aimed it at Spencer. “Why don’t you sit on the couch?”
He’s stepped to the side of me and I nodded frantically at his request. He just can’t hurt Spencer. He removed his hand from my mouth, then brought it to his, putting his pointer against his lips. I walked over to the couch and sat down like he requested, finally getting to study Spencer. He was tied, not chained, and was slouching, as if he was sleeping standing up. I would have thought that was exactly what he was doing had it not been for his partially unbuttoned shirt, already developing bruises, and bloodshot eyes staring right at me. They were glossed over, and I couldn’t tell if he was actually seeing me, or just looking through me. I so desperately wanted to call out to him, let the rest of the team know that I’d found him, but DeLeon still had his gun aimed in Spencer’s direction. I was worried that any sudden movement would set him off.
He walked over to me, lowering his gun just slightly, and whispered, “I don’t like it when people don’t hold up their end of the deal.” As he said that, he made quick work of removing the wire. So much for Derek’s ‘keep it on’ pep talk. I thought he would smash it right there, but instead he back walked toward a small changing room, careful to open the door with as little sound as possible.
DeLeon disappeared behind the door for a moment or two, just enough time for me to whisper, “Spence.”
He met my eyes, like really met my eyes, but there was no emotion there. He was as cold as stone, and I had to respect him for finding a way to get through this. When DeLeon returned he was holding a small radio-like device that I didn’t totally recognize. He set it down on a small wood table across the room, set the wire in front of it, and clicked play.
“What do you want, DeLeon?” the voice came over the speaker. My voice.
“You broke our deal,” his voice sneered, “I want to show you what happens when you break other people’s things.”
My mind was racing. We’ve never had that conversation before. I’ve never said that before. How did he get my voice on that recording? I’ve never said those things before.
I was listening and trying to figure out how he did that, and why? What was he planning? As if he could read my mind, DeLeon walked over and whispered, “You’re not the only one with tech inclined friends. I just handed over all of those recordings of your voice, and what do you know? It’s like we’re having a conversation.” I was astonished. I wanted to stand up and yell, which I was about to do, but DeLeon added, “I wouldn’t scream if I were you. We’re going to keep things nice and quiet.” His gun was back on Spencer.
He walked to the middle of the room and announced just quieter than the recording, “We’re going to play a little game. I’ve got a variety of fun things planned for us, but every time a new one is introduced, I will give Aundreya here the option to take it or leave it.”
“I don’t understand,” I replied, shaking my head.
“It’s very simple,” DeLeon purred, cracking his knuckles. “You get a choice: I hurt you, or I hurt him.”
My answer was also very simple, “Me.”
“I figured as much,” he grinned, walking over to me, “Oh, and try not to make any noise, would you?” I braced myself as he wound up to hit me, planting a very solid blow to my right cheek. I bit back a grunt.
“You or him?” DeLeon asked.
“Me.” And he hit me again, this time on the left side.
“You or him?”
“Me.” Another one.
“You or him?”
“Me.” This one was aimed at my nose, and I heard a distinct crack as blood started running down my face.
“You or him?”
“Me.” Me, me, me, me, me. A hundred times over, me.
I lost count of how many times he’d hit me when it turned to kicking. I wanted so badly to groan, or even just wince, but I couldn't risk it. I bit my tongue so hard I tasted blood, or maybe that was just the blood from the cut on my lip, I wasn’t sure anymore. Somehow, I ended up off the couch and laying on the floor, my eyes stinging with tears, but I tried to keep them at bay. It killed me not to fight back. The only thing keeping me sane was not looking at Spencer, not showing him how much pain I was really in. DeLeon lifted me off the ground and tossed me against the wall, each blow holding more anger than the last. He moved the wire and the recording out of the room because it was him that was making too much noise.
“Him!” he yelled in my face. I could feel some of the spit that came with it.
“No,” I croaked, “Me.”
He threw me back on the couch, and walked back into the changing room, returning with a small dagger.
“You,” he asked, “Or him?”
“Aundreya, no,” Spencer wept. I finally looked up at him to see that his clothes were even more disheveled and he was straining against the ropes. Tears were streaming down his face, “Please, just let it be me, once, just once, please. It’s okay, you can stop, just please, stop, let it be me.”
I looked away from his broken eyes. I had to be able to keep my strong face and if I kept looking at him, I knew it wouldn’t take long for me to lose it. I shook my head, “No. Me.”

❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎
Tim’s kisses lately felt different from the other. He’d be more passionate on some occasions, usually at night when he came back from patrol. You liked to feel the difference, it made some shows of affection more special.
Like that night you stayed at Wayne Manor, waiting for him to come back safe. He had hugged you so tightly, his scent so strong due to his very recent shower that it lingered on your pajama — his kiss had been heavy, the most passionate he had given you. And since then, he kept it up.
You had asked what was going on with him, worried that there was something he hadn’t told you. He assured you everything was more than fine, hugging you from behind as you laid in bed. He had never been one for being the big spoon every single night but you weren’t complaining.
Scanning the room as you walked beside Tim with your arm intertwined with his, you smiled at Damian from afar when your eyes landed on his green ones. He nodded cordially, in the same fashion he did while in public. You would’ve taken issue with the cold gesture if you didn’t know him so well. Your boyfriend sighed, but before you could ask what was wrong someone came to introduce themselves.
Galas bored you, the family you were so attached to had to act in ways you weren’t used to seeing them. You didn’t like it, it almost saddened you how much they had to fake and repress for the sake of the city — and the world to an extent.
You got so distracted by Dick’s dance moves that you didn’t feel Tim slipping his arm off yours. You reacted when Alfred hurried down the main hallway, away from the reception and turned left on the second door.
Following Alfred’s steps, the yelling from behind the door caught your attention. Well, the voices. You closed the door behind you. Damian and Tim were yelling on each other’s faces, Damian’s startling sharp gaze filled with anger.
You seemed to be the only shocked person, Alfred was trying to interfere with so much calmness, as if he had done it thousands of times, that you grew worried. Had your boyfriend and best friend been fighting on a regular basis?
Both turned to look at you apologetically. You stared at Tim, then at Damian. “What is the matter with you two?”
Tim stuttered, “nothing, it was nothing.”
Damian scoffed, tutting in that way he did when exasperated. Seeing you focus on him, he dropped his arms to his sides. “There’s something you need to be aware of.”
Tim stiffened, his head snapping to glare at his younger brother. “Damian,” he warned.
“Tell me,” you demanded to know what they were talking about.
Damian stared at Tim, waiting for him to speak first. Tim, knowing he was the one responsible for all of this swallowed harshly. Alfred seemed to realize he wasn’t wanted and scurried out of the room and back into the reception.
“A month ago,” your best friend started explaining when Tim didn’t speak quickly enough, “no. A month and a week with two days, almost three, ago—“ Tim groaned, but Damian didn’t give him the word, “I kissed you. You thought I was Drake, and I didn’t say anything to deny nor confirm.” A sound in the back of your throat came out before you could even open your mouth to reproach him. Damian used it to his advantage to continue explaining, “he found out and let me know he was more than fine with it.”
Your head whirled in your boyfriend’s direction who nodded, “it was hot, I liked seeing you kiss someone else.”
“And why didn’t you tell me then?! What part of it was so fucking hard to articulate?” Tim lowered his eyes to the floor, prompting you to glare at Damian. Your best friend didn’t shy away from your eyes. “And you?”
Damian did answer. “You would’ve chosen him again, why bother?”
“Because I deserved to know. You said it so earlier, for goodness sake!”
“Well, I didn’t think it would go that far!” Damian excused himself at the same time you were speaking.
“And why did you let it, Damian?”
“Because I fucking wanted it to!”
Tim wasn’t shocked by Damian’s confession, your boyfriend simply waited for your reaction. You didn’t react, you weren’t sure what to say or if you should say anything at all.
However, you asked, “Is that why you were fighting?”
Tim explained, “Damian knows he shouldn’t stare at you like that in public.”
You tilted your head to your right. Damian had always stared at you in the same way, no matter the setting. In fact, the two of you instantly found each other in any crowd every time. It was an unspoken rule between the two of you, it kept him grounded and lessened your nerves— it was a comfort, a fundamental part of your friendship.
Without realizing it, you did just that. Damian’s green eyes told you everything you wanted to know, slowing down his blinking for you to get his point across. The intensity of his gaze was new, the twitch of his brow so unusual in your presence.
Damian saw it on your face, the realization of how deep his feelings for you were. He didn’t try to hide them, not anymore. It was liberating, nodding as he followed your shifty eyes that couldn’t stop examining every inch of his face.
“Now that you know,” Tim grabbed your attention, “we can stop this, but you need to choose.”
You immediately found it unfair when you hadn’t decided to be in such a situation.
“You two should go back to the party,” you reacted, hoping they wouldn’t object so you could be alone with your thoughts.
Tim frowned whereas Damian nodded curtly, emerald eyes lingering on your face for a few seconds before he fixed his suit and turned around to leave the room.
“Why?” Tim inquired, “you don’t care about galas.”
“I want to be alone,” you deadpanned. He was playing dumb which you found endearing when you were in a good mood but shitty and annoying in that situation.
“Baby,” he cooed, placing his palms on your shoulders, “you don’t have to worry. Damian will understand,”
You moved away from his touch. “Understand what?”
He spoke as you walked toward a cushioned chair, “that you don’t love him.”
“Don’t I?” you inquired, craning your neck to face your boyfriend.
“Do you?”
Shrugging, you reminded him, “I made out and cuddled with him for a month. Yes, I thought it was you but now I know the truth and the truth doesn’t change the fact that I enjoyed it.”
Tim wriggled his tie out of frustration. “You can’t love two people that way, and he’s my brother.”
“Your brother who you fight over everything from what I see.” Reclining against the back of the chair you placed your hands on the seat’s arms, “why didn’t you tell me it turned you on? We could’ve tried something, I guess...”
“I didn’t want to get cucked. And Damian surprisingly followed the rules of just kissing and cuddling you.”
The fault in Tim’s logic and plan was glaringly obvious, it didn’t please you but you weren’t going to lie and say you could still choose him in a heartbeat.
“Where did you sleep while I slept next to your brother? Here?”
Your boyfriend shook his head. “At Conner’s.”
“Really, Timothy?” you chuckled bitterly, “at Conner’s from all people?”
“You love Conner!” he tried to defend himself.
You sprung up from the chair. “I do! But come on Tim... what are we doing?” You hadn’t wanted to speak about it with a hot head, you wanted to think this through at your pace. Fuck it. “Have we been emotionally cheating on each other?”
“I’m not—“ he shook his head, rubbing his hands against his face. “Are you telling me you’re choosing Damian?”
“Don’t deflect, please.”
“I don’t know,” Tim confessed, “maybe? I lost control of it.”
You supposed you would’ve lost control of it too. It would’ve been nice to have control in the first place,
❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎
You couldn’t find him anywhere, the garden was his favorite spot to lose time when galas took place but you only found a couple making out near Alfred’s roses.
Trotting up the stairs as quickly as you could in high heels had been tricky. He seemed to hear you, by the time you reached his bedroom door it had cracked open already. You still knocked, sticking your head into the room to ask if you could come in. He beckoned you in, avoiding your eyes when you closed the door behind you.
You couldn’t stop staring, his hair was disheveled from tugging on it and he had discarded his tie and blazer but hadn’t bothered on changing into more comfortable clothing.
“Were you going to tell me?” you broke the silence. He shook his head. “Why not?”
“You made your choice a long time ago.”
“It wasn’t a choice.”
Damian scoffed, “you picked him and started dating him.”
You set your jaw, “I didn’t know. It was not a choice because there weren’t options to pick from.” It sounded awful, but you were sure he had understood what you meant.
“I tried to make you fall for me,” he recalled, “but you were busy seeing whatever it is you like about Drake.”
You never saw it. It wasn’t anyone’s fault, yet you felt a slight pang on your chest as a few memories came to you. Your connection with Damian had been instant and therefore special from the get-go, you wouldn’t have identified it as attraction in any other instance.
You wouldn’t even think of yourself as his type, no one imagined Damian with anyone who wasn’t a fit model or a badass superhero. You were clearly none of those, and now as you mulled it over you realized how much sense it all made.
“Why did you kiss me?”
“I wanted to know how it felt.”
You hummed, “you could’ve asked me for a kiss.”
“I wanted to know how it felt to be loved by you,” Damian clarified.
You had been there in very important moments of his life, when Alfred scolded him for his language for the first time, when he got his second Ph.D., when Dick died, when Bruce died, when Jon went to another reality, when he trained Titus, the day he officially got his driver’s license, the third time he fought his mother... you had gotten him hooked on your favorite tv-series and he had to feign hating it at first to not look pathetic, the two of you cried out of laughter when he told you.
He wanted you to be there in other ways, for firsts and lasts. He wanted to be grounded by taking your hand in social events instead of staring at you from afar, to get back from patrol and see you asleep on his bed, to be the one you pampered by playing with their hair. Damian wished he could lay his head on your lap on movie nights, take you out on dates even though he had never been a fan. He had fantasized with so many things, romantic and sexual, a few a combination of both due to the nature of his feelings.
“I do love you,” you stated. “All of this is overwhelming, but no matter the outcome I need you to get through your head that I do.”
❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎
Tired of staring at the window, you sat up on the bed with your back against the headboard. The past week had been a roller coaster of emotions and dilemmas with sleepless nights in between.
You had seen his silhouette on the fire escape every night, but neither one of you had attempted to speak. You had hoped he would that night, he must’ve known how things had gone with his brother already.
Playing with the edge of the fuzzy blanket, you got the sensation of being watched. He was there again. Your gut told you to get out of the bed and confront him, yet you were aware that if he had wanted to speak he would’ve entered the room already. The window wasn’t difficult to open from the outside, he himself had pointed it out in more than one occasion — and even if it was, you had left it unlocked in case he wanted to come in. You were sure he knew that, too.
You did leave the bed in direction to the kitchen, the night was being the warmest of the week but you were cold still. As the kettle boiled you considered inviting him in, at least to warm up a little bit. You waited impatiently for the water to be ready, swinging your hips from left to right.
The clear water turned murky as soon as the herbs came in contact with it under your eyes. You carried the tea back to your bedroom, closing the door with your foot.
“What are you doing up?”
The question startled you, making you jump and consequently spill the hot liquid. “What the fuck is wrong with you, Damian?!” you shrilled.
“You knew I was there,” he pointed out matter-of-factly, extending an arm to turn the lights on. His tone changed, “did you hurt yourself?”
Shaking your head, you put down the ceramic in your grasp. He smirked to himself, seeing you had been carrying two cups and not one. “Not badly,” you answered, looking down at your now stained shirt.
“I’ll prepare some more while you change” he announced, his hand brushing your arm as he stretched his own to reach for the cups.
Throwing the dirty shirt into the laundry basket once you had changed into a clean one, you walked out of the bathroom and directly toward the window. The room had gotten colder due to Damian not closing the window when he sneaked in.
You got distracted by the light reflecting on the pavement, the simplicity of the observation amazing you when you lived in a chaotic city. Getting lost into the complications of what being a Gothamite entailed was so easy that you had forgotten to enjoy the trivialities the city had to offer.
Damian stood behind you, looking outside to get a glimpse of what you were so interested on. The familiar position made you unconsciously lean backward, prompting him to lightly lay a hand on your hip out of reflex.
He inhaled the scent of your lotion, the one that had lulled him to sleep for a month, the one he had missed the entire week. You craned your neck to look at him.
The tea would get cold if you didn’t drink it soon, yet you couldn’t bring yourself to say anything about it. You didn’t want to move, to lose the comfort of his chest against your back nor the tickling warmth of his breath on your face.
Your eyes shifted to his lips. You still found weird to know you had kissed him without being aware it was him— you also missed kissing him. It had been the cataclysmic realization that ultimately drove you to make your choice.
“Can I kiss you?” You whispered very timidly, afraid he’d say no.
Damian leaned forward, his free hand coming up to rest on the side of your neck. With his thumb on your cheek, he nodded and waited for you to close the gap.
You wetted your lips, breathing a laugh almost on top of his. You felt him chuckle and part his mouth, impatient for you to kiss him already. You took him out of his misery, slowly moving your lips against his at first. Chastely kissing him, you turned your body around to not hurt your neck. Damian pulled you closer by snaking his arm around your hips, his thumb digging into the side of your face as he deepened the kiss.
Damian grunted, tilting his head to change the angle and be able to kiss you the way he wanted. Fisting his hoodie when he swiped his tongue across your bottom lip, you parted your lips.
Both of you panted when you pulled away, his arm tight around you and your knuckles lighter in color from gripping the grey hoodie.
He was staring at you, it wasn’t clear if he was waiting for you to say something or not. You spoke anyway. “I missed you.”
“Me too.”
Letting his hoodie go, you wrapped your arms around his torso. Damian mover his hand away from your face to hug you back, sighing contently when you rested your head on his chest.
“I thought you wouldn’t talk to me anymore,” you confessed in a low voice, ashamed for doubting him.
“I didn’t want to pressure you, that’s all,” he assured. Upon hearing you hum, he took a breath, “what does this mean?”
“It means I love you.”
“Good.” You could hear the smile in his tone, feel the breathiness of it on his chest.
Looking up, you smiled at him too. “Yeah?”
Damian pecked your lips, “more than good.”
