Number 5 with mat pwease 🥺👉👈
From Valentine’s day prompt: 5. 💐 “You got me flowers? How cliche, I loved it!”
word count: 1.7k + (I got carried away, sorry) 😬
warnings: it’s not proof read lol and it’s angsty but with fluff ending, hope you like it! ❤️
Mat was supposed to be home on Sunday morning, which means he would be able to spend February 14th with you, or so you thought because on Saturday he called to tell you that there was a delay on his flight, and part of the team was stuck in the airport until Monday. It was your first Valentine’s together so of course, you were kinda sad. Since the beginning, you two were very clear with the ‘pains’ of dating an NHLer, but you still wanted to try, and what a great thing you did because although the distance was on somedays almost unbearable, the meeting right after was amazing. And for the first time, you really felt like the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder” was somehow true.
On Saturday, when he called you -really, voice call, not facetime- you thought he would keep talking, and even tell you he would make up for it -like he did when he missed your Family’s annual barbecue- but Mat just told you what was happening and hung up. He didn’t explain everything, just told you there was a problem, his flight was delayed and that was it. You knew his way of saying ‘I love you’ was telling you to take care, or asking you about your plans for the day, but he did nothing of it during the call and for a second you were afraid he was waiting for Valentine’s day to be over so he could break up with you, but you were quick to shake these thoughts off your head and go on with your day. Taking the opportunity to finish his gift, you wrapped everything carefully and placed a handwritten letter inside, you tried cleaning the house and baking to distract, going as far as watching The Bachelor, but Mathew was the only person able to make it sounds funny. Sighing you unlocked your phone calling someone you knew would know almost exactly how you were feeling.
It took only two rings for her to answer with a cheerful tone and you frowned, “Hey, honeybun!”
“Hi, Syd, you sound excited,” you stated before explaining, “I mean, aren’t you sad?”
“Why would I be sad?”
“For spending Valentine’s without Martin?” you explained, but coming to think about it, you would understand if she wasn’t that shaken by the news, it wasn’t her first Valentine with Matt, they were married, they dated for years, they had the time to get used to distance, but they also had the time to experience the date together first.
“Huh?” she’s puzzled and you can almost picture her pout.
“The team’s flight delay…” what if he didn’t tell her yet!?
“Oooh,” it’s a noise of understanding, “yeah, sucks right?! But I’m sure we’ll see each other on Monday, and so will you and Barzy,” you fell silent and she understood the seconds of silence. “Aw, you’re sad, aren’t you?”
Shrugging you answered, “Are you busy right now?”
“No, I’m completely free for the rest of the night, you should come over, I’m gonna order your favorite and we can eat ice cream with cookies after,” Sydney did the job of being a big sister like no one else, and sometimes you wished to be her sister, you always wondered how it must feel to have siblings, other pieces of your family that fit right with you, that gives you comfort, and joy, but also stress.
“Right, I’ll take the wine. Be there in 15,” you tell her before hanging up.
15 minutes later you were at Sydney’s house venting about your situation with Mathew. She listened to everything and made sure to remind you that he wouldn’t break up with you, there wasn’t any reason to, according to her Mat loved you -even though you told her that he never said these three words-. By 10 pm you were deep into two wine bottles shared with your friend, now trying to watch a random romcom movie that was on TV. Truth is you were typing and deleting a message on your boyfriends chat, but nothing seemed right. What would you tell him? Maybe if you reminded him about the fact that you would spend Valentine’s away he would be feeling guilty, like he was missing out on you again. You typed again, this time sending a simple, “hey, how are things out there?” however the message wasn’t even delivered.
You were confused, but maybe his phone died and he was about to connect? Trying to forget you bought your attention back to the movie, or at least tried harder this time.
When the movie was over you unlocked your phone expecting a message from Mat but you were met with the same chat, the message wasn’t even delivered.
“What’s that you fidgeting since the movie began?” Sydney asks munching a cookie.
“Barzy is not answering my texts,” shifting your position on the couch you sighed. “The messages aren’t even being delivered.”
The blond shrugged and said, “Maybe he’s busy?”
“That never happened before,” you point out, “and it’s 10 pm,” it’s not a good argument, but somehow it made sense in your head. “I’m gonna call him,” it’s your final decision and before Sydney could stop you you tap at his name. It rings nonstop and goes straigth to voice mail.
He never not answered a call from you, unless he was on the ice, and he wasn’t on the ice at 10 pm without being in a game.
“What if something happened with him?” now you worried, it’s almost impossible to swallow the lump forming on your throat.
“Y/n, look at me,” Syd calls, “You’re dealing with a lot together and you’re also missing Mat, but he’s ok, maybe he’s just busy, or his phone is dead, or maybe he’s even gaming with the guys and didn’t notice it ring,” she’s good at reasoning, she also seemed so sure you almost asked if there was something she knew that you don’t, but choosing to just listen, you sight trying to relax your body.
You talk a little more about random topics, you can tell she’s trying to distract you, and right before midnight Syd tells you both of you should rest, she had something to do in the morning -to which she didn’t specified to you- and you would probably have a bosy day too -with what? You did not knew.
When you got home it was silent and dark, empty without Mat and even emptier with the realization he wouldn’t be there in the morning. You drank water and showered to get rid of the alcohol in your body before grabbing one of his shirts to sleep. His smell engulfed you into a deep slumber that was only interrupted in the morning by the buzzing of your door bell.
Groaning you grabbed your robe before making your way to the entrance while cursing. Who could possibly be at your door this early? When you swinged the heavy wood material open you frowned.
“Good morning, there’s a deliver to miss y/n,” he stated with a smile. There was a trolley in front of him with at least 6 or 7 jars of all kind of flowers, some which you didn’t even know the name.
“From who?” you ask, maybe it was Mat?!
“It doesn’t say in here and there’s no card,” the man shrugs and points at the flowers, “where can I put these, miss?”
“These?” you grimace.
“Yeah, all the eight vases are in your name.”
Still stunned you open the door wider and points to the coffee table. It takes him almost five minutes and when he’s done it’s like your whole living room was covered in flowers. They smelled amazing and you ran to your bedroom grabbing your phone, there would be probably a message from Mat with a cue about the vases, but when you unlock the device there’s nothing. You saw he read the messages but there wasn’t any reply. It was past 8 am on a Sunday, he could be sleeping, Mat wasn’t a morning person, you knew it, but still you almost felt sadness poll inside you, but before you were able to give it any space there was another buzz.
“What the hell?” you whispered walking to your entrance again. Maybe the man really got the flowers to the wrong person, there was another y/n at the fourth floor, you knew she was single, but still, maybe she was seeing someone? It wasn’t even five minutes after that man left the flowers at your living room, maybe he bump into the right y/n on his way out?
You swallowed before swinging the door open for the second time that morning, however you were not met with the trolley and the green uniform, but with a black suitcase, a suit and a face covered by another vase of flowers.
“I told him 9 vases, one from each month together, but I believe he forgot one,” you would recognize that husky voice and heavenly fragrance from miles away. “Happy Valetine’s, princess.”
“Oh my goodness,” your voice wobbly. You stressed yourself out the whole night thinking he wanted to break up with you, but he was just planning a surprise. As soon as he lowers the vase on the ground you jump into his arms lacing his waist with your bare legs, and although it’s cold inside Mat’s body is warm against your skin, it makes your shiver and bury your frace in the crook of his neck. How you missed that smell! “I thought you were going to leave me and was trying to let me down gently, omg.”
“I could never leave you, my love,” his voice is gentle and so is his hands caressing your back and hair. You sniff before looking at the flowers in the ground, trying to change the aura. “And you got me flowers!? How cliche, I loved it!” you feel his smile when he kisses your neck, his shoulders sagged in relief with your now happy and usual tone.
“What else do you love?” his question takes you by surprise because by the seriousness in his tone you could only think he was trying to get a point, but before you can rationalize it too much your lips are moving by itself.
“You.”
“That’s good, because I love you too,” he whispers before finally kissing your lips after so long away. It’s sloppy and full of smiles, and tongue and grabbing. Mathew loved you and there wasn’t any better Valentine’s gift than his words.

‘I tried a vitamin IV drip for an energy boost – here’s what happened’
Tumblr media
I'm pretty into discovering new methods to boost my power levels, which is why intravenous (IV) vitamin enhances piqued my interest. Sadly, needles are not my friend. I am the woman who passes out when she offers blood and also unconsciously closes down veins, which implies it's never ever as easy as "one little prick" for me. Naturally, this put me off.
I have actually had a vitamin B12 shot a few times as well as it was painful, so volunteering for an entire IV simply didn't seem worth it to me. Up until I chatted to a good friend, that had recently located a "trendy new IV Bar in Joburg" and vouched it did wonders for her skin. I'm guilty of chasing after the glow as much as the next lady, so I determined to take on up and go for it ...
Here's exactly what took place ...
Walking right into the IV Bar I didn't fairly know what to anticipate, yet much to my pleasure there were no hospital beds or frightening IV trolleys. Rather, I was greeted by friendly faces as well as wonderfully comfy elbow chairs. We discussed my demands and also determined that the "Energy Boost" IV was good for me-- with a high dosage of vitamins and also electrolytes as well as an added bonus offer of magnesium to help me sleep better.
The really gentle and also caring Registered nurse Paulina provided my IV and also after analyzing my arms determined it was good to pop the drip right into my hand. It was a little agonizing, however not what I would certainly developed it up to be (very frequently the situation). And after that I relaxed, relaxed and sucked on a couple of Shimmer sweets (these counter the metal preference you get from the drip), while the 15-minute vitamin increase entered my capillaries.
Energised ... But calmness
An extremely peaceful woman (slumped) in the chair alongside me, I later on found out, was having the "Headache Recovery" drip. She operates in bars as well as I presume hydration and also late nights are an occupational risk. It turns out she was a normal in the IV Bar, obviously looking for a means to balance her way of living. I watched her transform in front of me. As she completed her hydration therapy, she nearly bounced out of her chair and also spoke about the upcoming evening she needed to prep for.
When it comes to me, well my energy degrees quickly cheered up. I fulfilled a good friend for a piece of birthday cake after that and also really felt sharp and also thrilled to see her. I wasn't all buzzed the method you obtain from a high levels of caffeine overdose though; rather, I really felt a sense of peace.
We commemorated the very same good friend's birthday the adhering to night and also, needless to say, I awakened really feeling a little worse for wear. I couldn't aid however consider the lady from the IV Bar in the chair alongside me, as well as her hydration remedy. A week down the line, I truly have actually been sleeping good. Although, typical to the period I've picked up a little head cold. I recognize an "Health Increase" IV with 25 000mg of vitamin C is just what's needed to sort me out ... I think it's risk-free to claim I could be addicted.
Whatever you require to find out about vitamin IV trickles
While these IVs are a mix of vitamins and minerals that are currently discovered in your body, it's important to do your study as well as ensure whoever is administering your drip really is clued up. I sat down with Keri Krug, the proprietor of IV Bar, and also asked every little thing all of us would like to know about this most current wellness pattern ...
Before you visit and IV Bar, what qualifications etc. should you inspect the establishment for?
Safety is important! You want to make certain the intravenous vitamin centre is related to a doctor and a registered nurse is carrying out the drips. Despite the fact that it's vitamins and minerals and also is considered very secure, you wish to ensure the vitamins you are obtaining are worsened in a sterile center, and that the registered nurse has extensive experience in dripping customers. Additionally, from a logistical viewpoint, you wish to go somewhere that's welcoming, comfy and has a power. This is not an animosity purchase-- it's voluntarily, as well as you intend to enjoy your time there.
Do the IV leaks come with any type of adverse effects-- throughout, promptly after or the next day?
There are no adverse effects at all-- just may benefit! Very few people have reported a minor frustration after the detox drip, yet this is normal as the body is eliminating toxic substances ... however I've literally had one client report this. Some people get small bruising at the needle website, which once again is regular and also usually not excruciating. Many people, however, do not bruise as well as really feel the positive effects of the energy increase as well as health boost promptly.
What are the prices of the IV?
Our vitamin drips variety in between R650 and also R850, depending on the drip. We have actually selected to maintain our rates as low as feasible since we want our drips to be readily available to everybody-- not simply the stars as well as singers and also actors and also athletes who may manage a whole lot more. Our vitamin drips have the most productive and also safest substances at a budget-friendly cost.
How does the 'power increase' drip vary from a basic vitamin B shot?
The vitamin B shot typically just contains vitamin B12, while our energy boost has vitamin B complicated (thiamine, riboflavin, nicotinamide, pyridoxine, d-Panthenol), vitamin B12 as well as magnesium sulphate. The vitamin B12 complicated offers you the increase and helps reduce anxiety and stress and anxiety, while the magnesium helps with insomnia, pains, inflammation and migraine headaches.
We may give a much dose intravenously than would certainly be endured orally or through injectable, so you would certainly require four to 6 injections, one on an once a week basis, to have the exact same result as a 15-minute drip. Also, injectables have a 60% absorption price as several of the fluid enters into the muscular tissue, while an intravenous drip has a 100% absorption price, with the whole solution being provided straight into the blood stream. This additionally ensures results are promptly really felt.
Is there any person that shouldn't have an IV?
Practically every person may gain from vitamin IVs as they are vitamins and minerals and also thought about risk-free. Nevertheless, it is recommended that expecting women do not have drips because we don't recognize how much of the vitamins go across the placental barrier. Likewise, people with serious liver as well as kidney disorder may not have the ability to endure the drips either, but we will always check with their doctort and also get their permission if they would certainly like them to have a drip.
But those who do advantage abound! Besides the visual advantages of enhanced skin, and the natural regulation improvement for sporting activities lovers, in addition to the detoxification advantages, and the hydration treatment, those that profit mostly from vitamin IVs are the clinical situations:
Ladies with early ovarian ageing and also PCOS-- the glutathione enhances ovarian function as well as boosts the quality of eggs, so it's great for fertility treatment.
Individuals that experience frustrations and also migraines.
People that battle with anxiety, stress and also stress and anxiety.
Those with autoimmune problems such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's condition as well as lupus.
Clients going through radiation treatment that are depleted of all nutrients.
Exists a clinical doctor present?
Indeed there is. Even though vitamin drips are considered risk-free, and our nurse is very knowledgeable, we like to have a medical professional on website. The majority of people have no unfavorable side effects, however a customer may not disclose drug they get on, or a condition they have, or they may not know of a hidden trouble or allergic reaction, as well as they might have a reaction. This would be the outright minority, however rather risk-free than sorry.
As a result of adding substances to an IV drip, there is a small risk of allergic reactions. While these risks are low, exactly how are you gotten ready to handle it in the event that one does happen?
The risk of an allergic reaction is very low. Medical drips, such as iron drips, posture a much larger threat that vitamin trickles, but of course it may occur, particularly if the customer has not revealed certain drug they are taking or an underlying condition they may have. In the not likely occasion of a reaction, a medical professional gets on website and our registered nurse is well trained. We have an anaphylactic kit available, as well as we have Hadley Shapiro as well as his group from MediResponse on rate dial.
The take home message-- a client should constantly fill out the client approval kind as truthfully as possible as well as reveal all details that could be appropriate to the dripping process. By doing this we may ensure they will certainly be safe and also gain all the positive may benefits of vitamin dripping.

In Toronto? The IV Lounge is a full service IV vitamin therapy clinic offering intravenous infusions such as Hydration therapy, and high dose vitamin C just to mention a few.

Dear Father Christmas,
With all the hustle and bustle of this time of year, it’s such a relief to just take the time to relax and breathe a little. The last few weeks have been the usual frenetic rush, especially with the Hand in Hand Festive Feast to get into order, though this being the fourth year, we’ve got a system in place that really works. But today, on top of all that, it seems as though the family is scattered to the four winds, and I’m spending most of my day just hoping they’d get home in time for tea.
Hope is out with some of her friends from her school days who she’s managed to keep in touch with. She and her girlfriends have no doubt been giggling and making fools of themselves at the shopping mall all afternoon.
Charlie and Therin are working down at Hand in Hand all day. Therin’s  going to spend the night here tonight, and he couldn’t be happier. He’s completely besotted with Charlie, and will take any excuse to spend time with her. The poor sap. Charlie is a devout friend to him (he’s her best friend) but she doesn’t harbour any romantic feelings. She’s only twelve, though, and he’s nearly fifteen, but it looks like he’s willing to wait until she catches up. I’m just a little concerned (for Therin) that Charlie’s sights may point elsewhere once she matures. She can be a fickle little pickle. It should be interesting…
Wilfred’s been in a gruff little mood all day, reminding me more and more with each passing moment of the Doctor the way he was when we first met. He’s the spitting image, to be honest. (Strange how that works…) Anyway, he’s been out at the treehouse working on some project or other all afternoon. He’s been stomping in and out of the house, collecting tools from the basement, and tracking snow all over the place while he’s at it. Of course I called him out on it, and told him to clean it up, but he just told me “No time, Mum. I’ve gotta get Dad’s gift together.” He frowned. “It’s being difficult.”
I asked him what the gift was and if he needed any help.
“Nope! It’s a secret.” His frown transformed into a giant grin “But if I can get it to work, it’ll be fantastic!”
I shivered a little at the way he said that word, and couldn’t resist saying “Look at you, beaming away like Father Christmas!” just to see how he would respond.
He didn’t disappoint. “Who says I’m not? After giving Dad this great gift, I’ll have you all believing!” (Time Lord genetics can have interesting results…)
I shooed him out and reminded him to take off his shoes at the patio door next time he tramped in. I watched him climb back up into the tree and disappear inside the treehouse. The smooth surface of the wood still amazed me. While I was away last summer for a few days, Wilfred had devised a sonic setting that worked on wood, and it basically melted the planks of the little building together into a smooth, unbroken surface. While the Doctor was a bit miffed to be one-upped by a ten year-old, he’d been thrilled about this discovery, as he’d been trying to get the sonic to work on wood for centuries (literally).
Speaking of whom… My husband has disappeared into the ether as well. Poof! I think he said he was going over to my mum’s to fix her dishwasher, even though I told him not to bother. (“Don’t be ridiculous, Rose! I’ll have it sorted in no time!”) Blimey, I’m bracing myself for Mum’s irate phone call, later. I did suggest to him that he just wait for Charlie to take care of it tomorrow. Actually, any of the kids would be a better choice than him. Or even Dad! (No, scratch that… not Dad!) But where was I? Oh, yeah, anytime the Doctor tries to fix Mum’s things they either end up worse off than they were to begin with or they suddenly become very good at doing something they were never intended to do in the first place. My bet is that by tonight my mum will have a dishwasher that plays Mariachi Christmas tunes. Just you wait and see!
Tea is ready to go whenever we need it. As usual, I make a simple fare of soup and fresh bread for Christmas Eve, so I’ve loads of time to kill. Maybe I’ll get out my paints. It’s been a while. And that tree house looks so pretty, covered in snow.
--ooOoo--
As it turns out, everyone seemed to converge on the house at once in a great deal of loud chatter and stomping feet and rosy cheeks, and just in time for tea! We all gathered around the table, everyone sharing their news of the day and we tucked into our pumpkin-chestnut soup and fresh-baked bread. Just as me and the Doctor were about to get biscuits and hot chocolate for everyone for dessert, Wilf spoke up.
“I have a surprise. A gift for Dad, but I want to give it to him tonight, if that’s all right.” He continued to explain how we would all need to go out to the treehouse for the gift. He’d prepared our 81st Century ultrawarm sleeping bags already. We all just needed to climb in and enjoy.
Hope suggested we could have our cocoa and biscuits while we were out there, and offered to prepare it while everyone got ready to go. (I got the impression she was in on Wilfred’s little secret, and may even have assisted a bit at some point.) Everyone cheered at this suggestion, and bundled into warm jumpers, hats, and mitts. Once we all had our boots on we trudged out into the snow. The Doctor filled a tin with biscuits, Therin carried an assortment of whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate curls, and peppermint sticks for topping our cocoa, and Hope filled our (also 81st Century) thermal carafe full to the brim with steaming, rich hot chocolate.
Wilfred had decorated the treehouse with sparkling, colourful fairy lights. It was beautiful against the backdrop of snow, and made me want to get out my paints again. Once we were all inside, the little structure became lovely and cosy. It really wasn’t so little. It was more than big enough to accommodate all six of us quite comfortably. It was a little awkward juggling hot chocolate and biscuits and sleeping bags, but it was completely brilliant fun, too! The Doctor wrapped his arm around me, and I snuggled happily against him.
Once we were all settled, Charlie, getting impatient, piped up, “Okay so let’s see this amazing gift, yeah!”
The tips of Wilfred’s much loved, but a-little-too-large ears turned red, so Hope nodded her reassurance, and he pointed to the ceiling.
“I don’t see anything but the ceiling, doof,” Charlie needled him, in a friendly, Charlie-ish way.
“Gimme a mo!” he groused back. “Honestly, you lot…”
“Take your time, son,” the Doctor reassured him.
A few seconds later, Wilfred produced Hope’s sonic lip gloss from his pocket (so she had been helping him out…) and aimed it at the ceiling. There was a little buzz, and then a portion of the ceiling seemed to melt away, crumpling inwards until it formed a large, transparent circle in the centre. “I’ve created a new wood setting!” he announced.
The Doctor cheered. “You made it transparent! We can stargaze now! And it’s a perfect night for it too! What a brilliant gift! Thank-you, Wilf! I can never programme those wood settings properly. Good to have you around to do that for me!”
Soon, we were all reclined, sipping our hot chocolates, munching on biscuits, and staring up at the stars, dreaming of which ones we could visit next. A shooting star went by and, I admit, I made a wish. I know I’m not supposed to tell, but I think I can tell you, Santa. I wished that no matter how far my family was scattered across the galaxy, they would always find their way home.
Happy Christmas, Santa. I hope you and Mrs. Claus and the reindeer and elves have a lovely, restful Christmas, and that you always find your way home safely every Christmas morning.
love, Rose
Oh. My. God, Santa. I just had to tell you! I’m dying laughing. Me and the Doctor are heading to bed (he’s off brushing his teeth at the mo), and Mum just called, not two minutes ago. She’s gone completely off her trolley! She turned on her dishwasher, and surprisingly enough, it washes her dishes just fine, but (and my guess was pretty close, I’ll tell ya!) apparently the Doctor rigged it to play Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer on auto-repeat for the full wash cycle. I am so going to kill him!

Time of goodbyes
Ah, home again…
I’ve been home for a couple of days, but since Christmas was right after my trip, I’ve neglected to update my blog earlier, haha.
The trip back is still pretty fresh in mind, so I’ll tell you about it below before I sort through all my pictures to see what I can cook up for a collection post.
As mentioned, I had to get up at 6 in the morning, which isn’t my idea of fun, but alright, at least I didn’t turn off my alarm in my sleep again as I did earlier this week, oops. I reluctantly got up, packed the last of my things, left a tiny origami crane bird as a goodbye gift (since I got a crane on my pillow the day I arrived), and said my goodbyes to my room for real.
I was too early for breakfast at the hotel, so I dropped my key in the drop box and made my way to the station. Sadly, the north exit doesn’t have an escalator, but carrying my luggage downstairs isn’t that much of a hassle. It is pretty tricky carrying it upstairs, however, and my luck would have it that I picked the gate for the JR lines that only had stairs… oh well, I made it to the platform just fine. I did miss a train, but I was too early anyway, so it was no bother waiting for the next one. At this hour, even the Yamanote line doesn’t come every 3 minutes, haha, but a 10 minute wait is still not that long.
The train took me to Nippori station, where I waited for the Keisei Skyliner taking me to Narita Airport. I had some bread sticks as breakfast and watched the scenery zoom by – goodbye, Skytree! It was around 8 when I got at the airport, with the sun already in the sky. Closer to the equator here than back in the Netherlands, since the sun doesn’t fully rise until like 8:30 in winter, hm.
Anyway! I arrived at the airport safe and sound. I first had to take a lot of escalators to find the departure hall. They were pretty mean with the posters, actually – ‘look at all the cool things Japan/Tokyo still has to offer you! Inspired for your next trip yet?’ Boo! Mean.
Anyway, I made my way to luggage check in, barely had to wait at all, and easily made my way through carry on luggage checks as well. Immigration took maybe 5 minutes, which meant I had made it from the train stop to my gate in 30 minutes, 15 of which were spent on escalators… Whoa.
With plenty of time to kill, I browsed the duty free souvenir shop (got a new puzzle! And some extra tea), found some very nice chairs to let my legs rest on for a bit, and had my last matcha latte before it was time to board.
I had my favourite spot again (middle row, aisle seat), and lo and behold, the flight wasn’t fully booked, so the seat next to me was still open! More leg space, haha.
Take off was calm and I read right through it. My stomach was still a bit queasy, but I managed to eat some of the lunch they served (not sure why they’d combine salmon with chopped pork – I mean, I chose fish for a reason), watched some movies and tried to get some shut eye, the latter not being entirely successful. Oh well. I took some pictures from the window near the bathrooms, though, since the weather was very nice and we barely had clouds for a good part of the trip. Which explains the lack of turbulence I guess, haha.
Another meal later, we were landing for Schiphol Airport. Again, super smooth, and we landed about 20 minutes ahead of schedule. Disembarking went fast, as did the passport checks and luggage pick up. Actually, the latter took longest, but with my trusted trolley in tow, I made my way to the trains. I was very lucky and caught the train with a couple of minutes to spare. Sadly the bus I took after that was a 20 minute wait, but hey, I still made it home a little after 6, which is very fast all things considered (I wasn’t counting on anything before 7 o’clock).
A long shower and dinner later, I forced myself to stay up until 9 to battle the jetlag, but I lost that fight and fell asleep as soon as I hit my pillow, haha.
The jetlag seems alright, I guess – I haven’t woken up earlier than 7 o’clock-ish, which is a very reasonable time.
By now, most of my souvenirs are stowed in their rightful places, and I’m just about to head out for a bell jar for a figurine I couldn’t resist buying, haha. Time to go through all my photos to give you a final selection later this week, and after that – it’s time to close off this blog again. For how long this time? Eh. Hard to say, but my new year’s resolution would definitely be to put the tag japan 2019 to good use, haha. Hopefully I can make that one come true.
Happy holiday season and see you soon!
