I really like the design choice of that strange body suit Vash and Nai wear as children... but it's implied to be, like a plant thing right? Nai clearly wears it as an adult and it's kinda shed from vash as he grows. The texture is exactly like the plants design so it's kinda like a layer of their skin, which is very alien I like it. But I now I need to see Vash wear it as an adult just for the strangeness of it. I have so many questions about independents. They are basically designed to look human but they are a phenomenon completely removed from human meddling. It's wild and mysterious.

"Come in," William exclaimed, looking up from his desk. Moment earlier he'd had a serious expression on his face, but now he was fighting off a laugh.

The Vermillion lioness stood in the doorway, looking rather grumpy and tired. Granted, he wasn't usually amused by someone else's exhaustion or anger, but it wasn't really her facial expression that entertained him so.

Rather, it was the fact that the woman was covered from head to toe in glitter, of all things.

"Sorry," he apologised, placing a hand over his mouth when he failed to contain his laughter. "But I have to ask: how did this come to be...?"

She grumbled. "That damn Sukehiro."

"Yami?" William raised a brow. He didn't think the Black Bull captain, of all people, would be able have Mereoleona covered in glitter.

"It was his idea, putting an unholy amount of glitter on everything."

Interesting.

"Of course, the children decided to go along with it."

Children? Mereoleona and children?

"And since I'd agreed to supervise..."

He wouldn't be surprised if that had been the result of Yami goading her into it, he somehow doubted that she would feel inclined to join Yami's arts and craft session otherwise, now that he was able to start piecing it together. Said arts and craft session was supposed to be taking place today at the Festiver Fair, and it was the most likely place for one to end up covered in glitter.

"Should have known it would end up being as messy as everyone of Sukehiro's other plans." And yet she'd gone. "Well, at least the cubs had fun."

There it was, Mereoleona's often unexpected soft side.

She folded her arms across her chest. "Any particular reason why you're smiling that goofy smile of yours, Vangeance?"

Heh, he hadn't even noticed that. A realisation followed by heat blooming in his cheeks. "None in particular." Lies. And, clearly, they had both known it.

Noting she still looked tired, he decided, "how about I run you a warm bath?"

Once he'd set everything up and Mereoleona entered the bathroom, with him closing the door behind her softly, he couldn't help but smile to himself a little, thinking about things he weren't really sure were even possible -- the idea of a family of his own would have been nice, as though he'd never been good with children he'd always been fond of them -- only to be pulled out his thoughts by the door opening once more, a little sooner than expected.

The red haired woman stuck her head through the door. "Join me, Vangeance?" she offered, grinning as his cheeks heated up again.

"I - uh..." he cleared his throat, fumbling for some composure. It wasn't that he wouldn't want to... it was more the case that clothes... or the lack there of... were a bit of an issue for him. And by bit he really meant a lot. "I'm afraid I have... paperwork to attend to." Technically not a lie.

"Very well..." she looked him over, with a sigh. "Perhaps next time, then. But you will come with me to Ultime."

That wasn't an offer or a suggestion.

He certainly didn't take it as such. Instead, he nodded. "Of course."

The grin on her face reappeared again, her eyes shining, making him wonder, as the door shut, what he'd agreed to. But then again, he'd do anything for Mereoleona.

Besides, he'd have some time before all that glitter came off. He could probably manage finishing his work before then.

Been super busy moving house and being ill and birthday stuff BUT I have reworked my character designs into slightly more anime inspired versions!

Knowing me, there will be more fiddling along the way but I am going to start colouring them now. I have put all of their different bits on different layers so I can change their expressions (once I get that far X_X ).

I'm pretty pleased with them for now but I am learning a lot through this process so I will probably spot a billion problems as I continue to work on them. There's always room for more YASSIFICATION!
