"Cassian would be such a good father!" "He's such a girl dad!" "I hope we get a Nessian baby in the next Acotar book!"
That would be the start of a horror story. Not because of the risk of death thing, since it was taken care of at the end of ACOSF. No. Nessian are not ready for a kid, and quite possibly never will be at this rate. There are 101 reasons why neither Nesta or Cassian would be good parents at this current stage in their relationship and their personal development, especially if the dynamic we see in the HOFAS bonus chapter is anything to go by.
When you become a parent, you are responsible for your child's physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, and should provide for them within the best of your abilities. That goes beyond food, shelter and clothing. It means support, love and encouragement, fostering a safe, nurturing environment for them to grow up, free to be themselves.
Nessian can't give that. Not entierly anyway. I don't believe that either of them wouldn't love their child. What concerns me is if they would love their child enough.
Cassian has proven time and time again that he will chose Rhysand over Nesta, no matter what. If he can't chose his damn mate, how could he chose his child. What would he do if it came down to choosing between his Rhysand and his mate & child?
We've established that the mating bond is likely to be the Cauldron's form of selective breeding based on power, so it's highly likely that their child would be incredibly powerful too. The IC have been shown to go as far as lie and manipulate their own in order to exploit their powers. That is what happened to Nesta in ACOSF time and time again. Hell, it's been happening since the IC met Nesta in ACOMAF.
It's not beyond possibility for the IC to lie and manipulate or guilt trip Nessian's child the way they did to Nesta, so they can exploit that power. The worst part is, Cassian, thus far, hasn't given us a reason to think he wouldn't go along with it. If Amren, or Rhysand decide they need Nessian's kid to do something "for the good of the court" but Nessian's kid doesn't want to, or is reluctant? Would Cassian really stand up to Rhysand for the sake of his child? He doesn't love Nesta enough to stand up for her, why would he try to stand up for his kid?
Even if he did stand up for NK, (I'm calling his and Nesta's hypothetical kid NK from this point on, to make things easier) what's to stop the IC from going behind his and Nesta's back? What's to stop Cassian, from going behind Nesta's back on the off chance that he agrees with the IC but Nesta refuses to allow it (assuming NK isn't an adult, which in this world is about 50-80 years)? I wouldn't put it past Nesta's own sisters, and so-called family to undermine her rights and position as NK's mother by going behind her back and making the kid do what they want anyway.
They might not even bother hiding it from her and, like the intervention, tell her it's happening, regardless of how she feels. What proof do we have that Cassian would stand up for her or NK? Would stop the IC, for his child's sake, and defend his mate's right as Nk's mother? He wouldn't. Current, cannon Cassian, wouldn't. He simply doesn't care for Nesta enough to defend her rights and boundaries as his mate, so we can't believe he would defend NK from the IC, if it came down to it.
Then there's the issue of Illyria. Some people are of the opinion that the bat boys would send their kids to Illyrian war camps because it's their culture, while others argue that they wouldn't because it was traumatising. Personally, I think certain parts of Illyrian culture needs to become part of their history instead, like the child soldiers, and wing clippings, for example, but that's not the point.
Rhysand claims to advocate for change and equality in Illyria by thrusting a sword into a woman's hand, and basically forcing them to train too. Based on the argument with Devlon in ACOFAS, it's safe to assume that some level of force and authority is being used to make the women train. But handing them a sword and making them train, presumably in skin tight leathers, while men gawk and stare at them, isn't Equality.
Tumblr media
Equality, by definition, means that men and women have the same status, rights and opportunities.
Opportunity, by definition, is "A set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something".
Equality in Illyria won't exist until men and women alike have the choice to not be warriors. Women like Emerie are lucky enough to inherit businesses, but the social circumstances mean that while women may, technically, run businesses, social pressures prevent it. They either wouldn't get business, or other Illyrians might refuse to sell business licenses or stock to them.
These same social pressures are what the IC apply to women when they make them train with the men, without considering what they want. These are the same social pressures that the IC would apply to NK if they decided that they wanted her at these camps. Not only would they consent to leaving one of the youngest members of their 'family' with a people who are so openly hostile to them and to women in general, what are the odds that they would hear any objections from NK?
If NK said they didn't want to train, but the IC wanted them to become a warrior, either to help protect Velaris or to, once more, exploit their powers, or their potential strength (Illyrian killing power, whatever that is).
Cassian claims to love his people, but won't provide them with the opportunities they deserve. He doesn't look or listen to find out what they need, and he did the same to Nesta. He forced her to do things she didn't want to, without asking or understanding what she wanted or needed. If his child were to refuse training, or express interest in other areas, would he ignore them too? Would he force them to train as well?
If his child went through something traumatic (which is pretty much guaranteed with the IC as their family), would he resort to the same methods they used to break Nesta? Once again, we have no reason to believe he wouldn't strip his children of their personal choices, all so they become loyal, complacent weapons of the IC.
What's worse, is that those children may even become weapons to use against Nesta. Who's to stop the IC from telling Nesta's own kids lies and stories to turn them against her? They isolated her in an attempt to break her into compliance, what are the odds they wouldn't bar Nesta from her children? They used Elain to strong arm Nesta into doing their bedding, who's to say they wouldn't use her children? Or manipulate her children against her in some way? Who's to say Cassian wouldn't just let it happen, or even actively participate in the manipulation.
Cassian's loyalty and dedication to the IC would always come before Nesta and their potential children. He's not ready to be a father because he could never put his children before his brother or the rest of his family. The truth I'm seeing is that Cassian, clearly, doesn't love his mate, and probably wouldn't love his child as much as the IC. He wouldn't love them enough to stand up for them. He wouldn't love them enough to not manipulate or coerce them into using their body or powers in a way that the IC approves of (yeah, I also never thought I'd have to read, much less write, that a parent wouldn't love their kid enough to not manipulate them). He's unfit, at this point, to be a parent.
Moving on to Nesta, who still has several unresolved mommy issues, clearly. Her mother raised her to marry a prince and, assumedly, be the perfect wife. Given that the way women are treated in the mortal lands, it's not a stretch to imagine that part of that training would mean obeying her husband (or in this case, mate,) and looking the other way if he cheated, amongst other things.
These values may explain why Nesta isn't as assertive against the IC or Cassian as we'd like. Even if it's subconsciously, some of those values seem likely to be so ingrained in her that she can't break away, as we see when she takes Rhysand's abuse in HOFAS bonus chapter. It's also a fair to assume it may be part of the reason she does what the IC ask when searching for the trove. I'm not saying that those traditions and her mommy issues are the only reason why, there's plenty of other reasons why Nesta acts in these ways, including the brainwashing she got in ACOSF, but it's reasonable to assume that they're at least part of the reason why.
Speaking of brainwashing, Nesta was brainwashed in ACOSF. She was beat down and forced into submission to the point where she even tells Gwyn that she's glad Feyre did that for her. Nesta gave up her dream and desires to travel, her power, her autonomy, and her aspirations just to be subservient to the IC. She became barely a shell of who she was by the end of that book.
That's not to say this is Nesta's fault. Not by a long shot. This is a result of abuse at the hands of the IC, her mother and Cassian. Abuse that left Nesta way more vulnerable and malleable than she was before, stripping her of anything the IC didn't approve of. Meanwhile Cassian did nothing. She thought that she had to earn Cassian's love, despite him being her so-called mate. She seriously thought that she, as her parents' daughter, had to earn their love, for fucks sake people.
What happens if the IC decide that they don't like way NK is growing up, or that they don't like how the kid is dealing with potential trauma? Will they push Nesta into believing her own child doesn't deserve her love? Will Nesta, at any point, consider if her child doesn't deserve her love if they don't have an interest in training or court affairs or training their powers? f
Nesta, like Cassian, is unfit to be a parent, for similar, yet very different reasons. Nesta's self hatred and the lack of ability to stand up to the IC (not saying that's her fault) would bring into question if she would be able to stand up for her children. If Cassian won't stand up for either of them, then how would she, if she feels that her kids deserve better, and that the IC are better. If she feels powerless, and weak, because of their abuse, she likely wouldn't be able to stand up to them. If they come after her together, she wouldn't be able to stand up to them.
I'm not saying any of this is Nesta's fault. She is a victim of abuse. Plain and simple. However, it's also reasonable to decide that she'd be unfit as a parent at that point in time, in large part, due to the environment that was created around her. It's not an environment to raise a child. Especially since Nesta is so brainwashed that it took a stranger from another world (Ember) who knew nothing about her pointing out how messed up her situation was for her to begin considering it as a possibility.
Nesta's own self hatred wouldn't allow her to see anybody but herself as the problem, so she likely wouldn't stand up to the IC or Cassian for her kids, in part because it was so ingrained that she had to obey her husband, but also, in part, because she's less likely to be able to fully understand if or how the IC or Cassian's actions hurt them. Or to consider those actions unnecessary. Even if it came down to mating bond divorce being the best option, if kids are involved, she might not end up going through with it, which can often be worse for kids than a divorce.
Nesta would love her kids so fiercely, but it would be difficult for that love to outweigh the brainwashing, self hatred and abuse that has been engraved into her mind for practically her whole life. She wouldn't love them enough for it to overshadow those voices in her head, through, once again, no fault of her own.
Then the kid themselves. Bringing a child into that mess would be just as torturous for the poor kid.
Imagine what it would do to a child, seeing your uncle threaten to kill your mother, while your aunts, and father and rest of your family let it happen. All because your mother tried to do the right thing?
Or, another scenario, is if NK overhears their aunt (Mor) complaining about how horrible their mother is, and how she belongs in a place you were taught was terrible and evil because she's just like them.
What would it do to NK, to grow up hearing Amren, somebody their Uncle and mother trust and love, refer to their mom in reference to how useful her powers are, or to NK themselves by how useful they are to the court.
NK would likely be forced to do things they don't want to 'show a united front' or to train because it sets an example to the Illyrians. NK would be exploited for their potential power, an initiative likely spearheaded by Amren, and trained to be just as blindly loyal to Nyx as Cassian is to Rhysand.
The child would likely be left to Amren to train, with or without Nesta's consent, and even if she did find the strength to vehemently reject the IC's methods of trying to raise her kid, she'd be punished. She'd be locked up and told she was bad for her own child's wellbeing, while breaking down the poor kid the way they broke her down. They stripped Nesta of her autonomy and freedom. If she had a kid, it wouldn't be long before they stripped her of her role as a mother.
At the end of the day, Nessian wouldn't be great parents, because the IC aren't a great family. They have issue upon issue to work through before they can consider their relationship even somewhat functional or healthy, much less bring a child into it.
So no. Nessian doesn't need a kid. They'd be terrible parents and need to figure their own shit out before they even consider having a kid. Nesta isn't in a good place, mentally, physically, or emotionally, to be able to act with the kid's best interests at heart. Meanwhile Cassian is either delusional enough that he thinks Rhysand's best interests equal everybody's best interests, including his kid's. So, he won't bother to stop Rhys or the IC from using the kid however he wants.
Which is why I'm begging you. Please. No. No Nessian kid in the next book. Not in any book. Not unless SJM somehow fixes the relationship between Nesta and Cassian, and by that, I mean figure out how to fix Cassian's character from ACOSF.
(On a side note, Nesta's basically still a kid by fae standards, and so is Feyre. So why? Why would they not wait anyway? Cause ew.)

The BG3 Beef I wanna see shitpost
While I do love the idea of Tav/Astarion/Karlach/whoever getting more unique mean dialogue with Ulder Ravengard, especially when he has the audacity to take up space in your camp like that instead of someone cooler like Barcus or that one bullied hyena, I want very specific flavor text that you'd only get in the epilogue party if you pick a specific ending even more.
I think if you romance Wyll as Gale or Gale as Wyll and then you don't go to Avernus, I think it would be totally galaxy brain to have dialogue in the epilogue that reveals Ulder Ravengard and Morena Dekarios fucking DESPISE one another. Because they absolutely would.
We never get to meet Morena in game but you can tell from what Gale and Tara say about her and Gale's... Galeness that she is at least a part time passenger on the "Fuck you my child is fine" train. Her sweet little boy? Commit evil deeds? Never! There has obviously been a mistake. I mean she indulged that "Gale Of Waterdeep" nonsense and when Gale summoned a full on Tressym after being explicitly denied a kitten as a child, she just let him keep her. No repercussions.
And then her sweet boy brings home another sweet boy who is probably EXACTLY what she pictured Gale's partner should be like.(Because Wyll is the damn blueprint for "Guy you could bring home to mom") Wyll is ridiculously sweet to Gale, he's the perfect gentleman, he's very open to the idea of giving Morena the grandchildren she's been nagging Gale about in the very near future. Pinch her, she must be dreaming!
I cannot imagine her reacting to Wyll's backstory with any amount of empathy towards Ulder, obviously that man is a cruel psychopath to throw poor Wyll out like that after "a tiny misunderstanding" and Wyll is just too good of a son not to see it. Which is partially true, Wyll is definitely still in some kind of denial stage over what his father did but that's not the point of the post.
Then there's Ulder who probably thinks Gale is... Fine. He's not someone he ever would have pictured for Wyll. Gale is a babbling oddball, he has chronic foot-in-mouth disease and has only ever met the pointy end of a sword. But he can't say anything because Gale saved him, his son, and Bulder's gate, and a small army of tieflings, and apparently a bunch of mushroom people and blah blah more reasons he can never have the moral high ground blah. He's undeniably stuck with this fucking wizard, and his nightmare of a mother.
Morena firmly believes that since the Ravengard manor is technically Wyll's now, then it's also Gale's and thus is now hers as well. When I say she would walk through the doors like she owned the place I mean it very literally. Where did Ulder's old helmet display go? "They were rusty and it was ruining the wooden shelves, besides these enchanted swords go better with the new drapes we had to get, I don't know how you didn't notice how moth eaten they were getting." Everyday he wakes up and something about his own damn home has been changed to make it look more like a wizard tower. She doesn't even live here most of the time!
And it doesn't stop there, not at all. No this women has to make sure his son doesn't live there full time either. Every holiday and birthday she has to send Gale a letter about how much she misses him and you should visit so you can take a break from all that(Very important!) work and how she already has the venison just for Wyll.
And every time he's forced to interact with this harpy she looks at him with a sweet smile on her face, honey in her voice and the burning hatred of a thousand suns in her eyes then somehow managed to insult him five times in one sentence without ever explicitly insulting him. This women is a devil from Avernus sent to punish him for his sins and she's even won over the grandkids. Obviously that women is a manipulative psychopath for using her control over Gale to manipulate his son. Which, yeah Gale not being able to say no to his mom has contributed greatly to this and if Wyll knew what healthy boundaries looked like he probably wouldn't have put up with it but he doesn't so here we are.
Let these two be the Tom and Jerry style B plot to BG4 is what I'm saying.

🌱🩷: Here is pt 2 of this
Warnings: Reader uses she/her. In this story, she is Isagi's older sister. Requests are open
⚽️Blue Lock belongs to Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura⚽️
"What are you staring at? Acting like you saw a ghost." Sae said as he got up from the ground. (Y/n)'s face flushed in embarrassment and bowed.
"Sorry. I was just surprised!"
Sae kept quiet as she spoke, observing her face for a moment.
"You are that Isagi guy's friend? I saw you yell at him during the match." The redhead said bluntly, causing her to flinch a little.
"Ah... that... sorry for disturbing the game. And I am his sister."
"Sister? In that case, can I talk to you for a moment? It's concerning your brother."
(Y/n) blinked for a moment, but then slowly nodded her.
"Sure..."
As the duo kept talking, they didn't notice a pair of photographers, who were initially following Sae, look at them in an intrigued manner.
After about 30 minutes, and a punch to Oliver's gut, Isagi finally calmed down and they were both sitting on a bench in a nearby park. Isagi didn't talk much as he glared at Oliver while the older was explaining the situation to him. The U-20 captain was a little annoyed at the treatment Isagi was giving him, but he understood it... kind of.
'I guess I would have done the same if I saw my sister cry because of a guy... but damn, I didn't think he had a punch like thus one in him.' Oliver flinched, touching the sore spot on his stomach. Isagi was meanwhile lost in his thoughts, being torn between feeling sorry for Oliver and wanting to punch him again after hearing the reason why he made his sister cry.
'So that's why she was acting off back then. I honestly thought she just scored a bad grade on a final exam...'
"Why weren't you honest with my sis? You claim to love her, yet you couldn't be honest with how you really felt. You make 0 sense, Aiku." Isagi finally spoke up, sending a glare in his direction.
"I know that pretty well. I needed a year to understand what I did wrong."
"Why are you even doing all of this? Do you want her to come back to you? Or do you expect her to forget what had happened just because you apologized?-"
"Of course I don't expect her to forget what I did. I just... I don't know. I really miss her. (Y/n) deserved better than me, but I just can't forget her." Isagi stayed quiet, contemplating what to do with Oliver's explanation as the said boy continued speaking.
"I kind of wish I could travel back in time and delete that message, but that's sadly not something I can do."
"Well you are right about one thing. You definitely don't deserve my sister. And if I could, I would kill you now."
Oliver chuckled a little at Isagi's words as the boy continues.
"But, sis won't like the idea of me doing that. Even if she said all of those thing to you, I can tell she still likes you."
"You think?" Oliver spoke up, Isagi's words definitely getting him interested.
"I know my sis. When she loved someone once, she has a hard time hating them... even if they acted like a douchbag."
"I hope you are right..." The older boy let out a sigh, ignoring the last part. Isagi's glare softened a little and he got up from his spot to look down at Oliver.
"What?"
Isagi kept quiet for a moment, contemplating the idea that popped up in his head.
"I will help you get back with my sis. As much as I hate you right now, I know she still loves you."
'I don't see why, though.' Isagi thought to himself as he saw Oliver's eyes widen for a moment.
"You... you are serious? This isn't a joke, right?"
"I don't treat matters concerning my family as a joke. Especially something concerning (Y/n). So, either you accept or-"
"I accept. I accept." Oliver said, quickly getting up as well.
"Thank you, Isagi. I can never repay you."
Isagi said nothing as he kicked Oliver's leg, causing him to flinch a little.
"What was that for? Wasn't the punch to my stomach enough?"
"No. But I think its even now."
Oliver chuckled a little as the boy huffed.
"Don't screw this up, Aiku."
"So... you are still in Japan?"
"Is that a crime now?"
(Y/n) flinched at Sae's harsh tone, but spoke up anyway.
"Not really. But you always said in your interviews that there is nothing worth staying in Japan for." She reminded the boy as they walked on the sidewalk.
"I thought that prior to the match I had with Blue Lock. Now I do have a mission here. It's concerning your brother."
"A mission? Concerning Yoichi?" She raised an eyebrow at Sae's words as the boy continued.
"He has some impressive skills. I want him to join Royale in the near future."
"Huh?" (Y/n) was taken aback a little. Not used to hear THE Itoshi Sae of all people be interested in those things.
'He is so hard to read.' She thought.
"Do you, as his sister, know how to get him interested in the club?" Sae suddenly spoke up, looking back at her.
"Well... I think talking about what Royale has to offer might help. Yoichi's goal is to become the best, like his role model Noa. Maybe start with that." (Y/n) offered as Sae slowly nodded his head.
"But... is your teammate Leonardo Luna in Japan, too?" She asked the redhead.
"Him? No. Why?"
"Ahhh... I am just a huge fan of his. I would have loved to get an autograph from him." (Y/n) admitted with a flustered face as Sae stared at her for a moment. The boy kept quiet, finding her reasoning somewhat stupid, but then an idea hit him.
"I can help you get an autograph... if you help me with getting your brother interested in joining my team."
(Y/n) was taken aback by the offer, keeping quiet to look at Sae to make sure he was serious.
"Really?"
"Sure."
Sae stared at her for a moment, hoping the offer might help his case.
And sure enough it did. After a minute or two, (Y/n) nodded her head.
"Alright, you got a deal."
The next moment... the Isagi household was more than just a mess.
"Sis?! Why did you pick this prick?!" Yoichi yelled, leaving his phone on the table to run to (Y/n)'s room. Iyo and Issei's faces were a mix of confusion and horror.
"Oh my... can't believe (Y/n) picked Itoshi as her boyfriend... why didn't she tell me anything?" Iyo wondered, while Issei wasn't amused with the idea at all.
"I don't like this. Not at all. She is growing up too fast."
"She is 18, Issei." Iyo chuckled.
"So?!"

KIM MINGYU + “In the cereal aisle? Really?”
wc: 722 /// genre: boyfriend au, fluff. /// warnings: brief food mention.
note: it’s mingyu day and i realised i only have one mingyu drabble on this blog. i’ve decided to fix that. enjoy! and happy birthday to mingyu! <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As much as he would’ve liked to say otherwise, Mingyu was the type of person to fall in love deeply, thoroughly, and intensely. And when he was in love, he wanted to show the world how in love he was.
What was the point of loving someone if he couldn’t stand on his rooftop and scream that his heart was taken by the most wonderful person?
You were the opposite. You didn’t see a point in screaming you were in love – what mattered was that you felt happy and safe and no one had to know that you would do anything for him. All of that was already implied in the way you said “yes” the day he asked you to be his.
Thus you weren’t particularly affectionate or loud about your love for him. You didn’t mind that he seemed to never let go of your hand and that he placed an occasional kiss on your cheek when you were running errands.
This, however, was a problem for Mingyu.
One day, curiosity got the best of him. The two of you were at the grocery store when he finally opened his mouth and uttered, “How come you never kiss me?”
At first you paid him no mind, more preoccupied with choosing between two cereal brands. Mingyu pouted and tried again, “Hey, I asked you something.”
“What was it?” you wondered, smiling at him as you placed your choice of cereal in the cart.
“Why do you never kiss me?”
“We kiss plenty,” you argued.
He frowned at that before using his whole body to block you from moving the cart. “Yeah, we kiss. But you never kiss me.”
You sighed, unwilling to answer. You simply didn’t have an answer for him. The only reason you hadn’t kissed him yet was that you just couldn’t find the courage to do that. So, you stayed silent.
Ever the overthinker, Mingyu took it the wrong way. His lips fell into a pout, his eyes wide in worry. “Do you… Do you not want to kiss me?”
You couldn’t stand the heartbreaking look he was giving you, and so you burst, “Of course I want to kiss you!”
“Then do it already!” he demanded in a whine, moving around the cart to stand right in front of you as if to tempt you further. “Kiss me.”
You wanted to laugh. “Right now? In the cereal aisle? Really?”
But instead of laughing, he nodded seriously, staring right into your eyes. “Right now. In the cereal aisle. Really.”
If you hadn’t been shy before, you sure felt so now. Why did he have to do this in such a public place? Couldn’t he have waited until you had made it back to your apartment?
You were almost tempted to tell him no and move on, but something about the near-desperation in his eyes made you decide otherwise. One deep breath and you decided to deny him no longer.
Just like that, you gathered your courage, pursed your lips and gave him a kiss on the lips, much to his utter delight. His delight was short-lived because you leaned away just as fast as you had leaned in. “Hey! That was barely a kiss.”
“We’re in public, Mingyu. People are staring.”
“Let them stare. They’re just jealous. Kiss me again.”
You rolled your eyes. “I won’t. I’d prefer not to get banned from this store.”
“You’re no fun,” he sighed and shook his head before grabbing the cart’s handle bar and pushing it towards the dairy aisle.
You took offense to that comment and rushed after him. “I’ll give you a proper kiss when we get home.”
“I don’t believe you,” he declared, side-eyeing you as if you had wronged him in the worst way possible.
“You’re so damn lucky that I love you,” you mumbled under your breath before grabbing his chin and pulling him in for another, this time “proper” kiss. He hummed in joy, you almost did the same.
When you pulled away again, he smiled brightly. “Was that so hard?”
“I’m never taking you to the store with me again,” you solemnly swore while desperately patting your cheeks to will the sudden heat away. Damn him and his perfect personality and looks and quality kisses! “Never.”

Now that the Official English translation is out for Chapter 410…
It’s very interesting how the final thoughts of AFO really harken back to his backstory chapters. It confirms how unreliable of a narrator AFO was. He wanted to convince himself that he didn’t have any emotions and that those were crocodile tears. His smile really was a way to mask his emotions(referring to Hawks’ and Best Jeanist’s conversation about it) and that thinking about his childhood and losing Yoichi brought all of these intense emotions to the forefront.
Tumblr media
Him finally stating that he NEEDS Yoichi/everything is for nothing if he doesn’t have Yoichi by his side, is sad. For once, he finally admits that he didn’t just want Yoichi as a possession, but as his actual twin and only family member. All that talk about ruling the world and having everyone look at him is nothing without Yoichi.
Tumblr media
And him “talking” to Yoichi about wanting everyone to look at him is a direct nod to him seeing how the Demon Lord had a bunch of followers and his need to finally be paid attention to unlike when they were orphans trying to survive on the streets of a collapsing society. All his memories of his childhood are terrible because of that and so he wants everyone else to feel as awful as he did.
Yes, his death is “pathetic”, but that word means “having pity”. You pity AFO because he was born to an incredibly shitacular life up until he realized he could use his metapower to gain followers and thus pull himself and Yoichi out of poverty and living in half destroyed stores. You pity AFO because he was born with his metapower activated and had all the instincts associated with it. You pity AFO because, even as a baby just barely able to crawl, he still tells himself he can get to Tomura, that he can take OFA back and have his brother who he admits he NEEDS. You pity AFO because he really never got over killing Yoichi in a possessive rage. You pity AFO because, as Yoichi says, his power could have been kind and done so much good, but they were born with no one to take care of them or teach them morals. You pity AFO because the twins had to learn morality through a damn comic series.
All those plans. All his cockiness. All of it means NOTHING without Yoichi. So Yoichi was always the reason in the back of his head regardless of his excuses. Once you’ve been working towards getting your brother back for over a century, I guess it makes sense that you’d convince yourself there is no other conclusion than you succeeding.
This dude was the GOAT and it took an army of heroes to whittle him down enough for Bakugo to finally get him to the point he’ll blip out of existence. And his emotions and thoughts over Yoichi and that narrow goal of needing him by his side was what ultimately defeated him because he wouldn’t give up on it.
I think it’s sad, but a memorable death of a main antagonist.
But in addition…

I find the Official translation concerning the AFO vestige very interesting. It seems to hint that the vestige DOES still exist somewhere within Tomura, which makes sense because Tomura still has the AFO Quirk. Given what we know about the vestiges AND what occurred with Danger Sense and 4th being taken, Tomura shouldn’t have the AFO quirk anymore if the vestige is dead.
It would be great to have AFO’s vestige make one final appearance that allows him to interact with Yoichi. It was very disappointing to not have Yoichi appear at all during this chapter and I know a lot of people are hoping the AFO vestige will allow for one final talk between the brothers. It would be cool, if and when Tomura steals all the other OFA vestiges except Yoichi that the AFO vestige appears to keep Tomura from having him or something like that.

I was a former shipper, but I left everything related to Sam and Cait and my feelings were limited to Jamie and Claire
Really, all I hope is that Cait does not react indifferently and coldly to the end of the series
This would make me sadder than saying goodbye to the show
Because I know that Sam's commitment to the show has not changed from the beginning until now
It would sadden me to see Cait exalt her true feelings, hide them, and appear to us in an artificially coherent way.
Sorry, Any ambiguity in meaning is borne by the translation.
Dear Former Shipper Anon,
I know this might upset you, but I have to insist, because it's starting to (slow burn but bound to explode) irritate me: kindly write in your native language, instead of sending me asks written in fubar'd English. I had to read it four times in a row, on a damn busy and hectic day, and I am under no obligation to play Mrs. Graham, here, trying to guess what you mean.
Now you tell me if I understood properly: you were a shipper (so what?), then you jumped ship (so what?) and you redirected your affection for two living people (S&C) to two fictional characters (J&C) - again: so what?
You then proceed to tell us you really hope C would not act cold and/or indifferent after OL ends, because that would make you very sad. But sorry for immediately questioning your logic: why would you even care about C's reaction, assuming that what you don't give a flying duck about Those Two anymore and just love JAMMF and Beauchamp? And since you are (presumably) an adult, may I add that this pointless whining is most undignified: irrespective of Caitriona Mary Balfe's reaction to the end of OL, JAMMF and Beauchamp will still readily kiss and fornicate and say important (sometimes syrupy) things on screen every single time you play that Season 1 DVD. Conversely, in a galaxy far far away from Fraser's Ridge, S&C will carry on with their life. Together.
In fact, you are trying to make me diss on Balfe, with no objective reasons to be critical, in the given context. You knocked at the wrong door, Anon. This is never going to happen on this page and with this blogger. And I am sorry: the 'ambiguity' is not due to Google Translate at all, but only to your very poor attempt to stir shit and play the "S vs. C" card, over and over again.
These Two are in it up to their armpits. Together. Thus, I could not care less about your 'sadness' and will not comment further on your submission.
Get your act together, for Christ's sake, if you want me to take you seriously!

CHAPTER 1: Escape
The tavern sign creaks in the cool, windy night of the lower city. You’re the only traveller on the road making your way towards the infamous den, hopefully looking inconspicuously like one with the promise of a cheap pint or blithe time on your mind. In your hurry, you fail to notice the pair of red eyes peering from the upper floor window to the street. They are already calculating possible openings for a temptation.
Astarion is beginning to feel nervous. This streak of cold, quiet nights is proving difficult for someone looking for, well… people to meet. If only he hadn’t agreed to the stupid bet with Petras and Dal on top of drawing the shortest stick.
When no one else enters the tavern for a while, Astarion decides to take another look at the night’s menu of patrons downstairs. There must be someone, who even barely passes the bar to be served for his Master.
Astarion descends the stairs leisurely, an empty wine glass dangling in between his slender fingers. He walks towards his usual stalking spot in the corner, a vantage point from where he can see the faces of those walking in, but before he can sit down, a commotion by the bar draws his attention.
You are arguing with the bartender and apparently trying to hush the towering man. He says it’s not ‘that kind of establishment.’ And he rather loudly tells you to order something or get lost. Some of the other patrons are already shooting curious looks at you.
And thus, Astarion alters his course to get closer.
He scans your voice and frame, even though it’s difficult to make any conclusions as you’re dressed in something resembling a loose and large potato sack with a hood. Quite the fashion statement, Astarion sneers and almost turns on his heels, just as a glimpse of something gold catches his eye.
So you were trying to pawn off something at the counter. In Astarion’s experience, this usually means a damsel in distress. Perfect. He has never heard of anyone finding gold at the bottom of a potato sack, but with the unlucky streak he’s had, he is willing to give it a try.
“Is there a problem, darling?” he says in the smoothest, most calming tone his 200 years of experience in seduction can provide.
The golden glimpse – a ring with an intricate pattern on its surface – disappears into your pocket with such sleight of hand and speed that Astarion almost wants to applaud.
“Of course not,” you mutter, glance at him and turn away.
There is something familiar about you, but before Astarion can look more closely, the grumpy bartender clears his throat loudly.
“Is there something I can get you?” he asks, clearly telling Astarion to mind his own damn business.
“Well, since you’re asking, you could stop treating this lady so boorishly and pour us both a glass of red,” Astarion says and places his empty glass on the counter along with the required coin.
“I don’t–”, you start but Astarion silences you with a worried look that says ‘let me handle the brute’.
You swallow the rest of your protest and fiddle with your scarf, lifting it to hide the lower part of your face.
Exasperatingly familiar face, Astarion thinks. He knows who you are, for some reason. Or knows of you. He just quite can’t put his finger on it. But, there is one thing he knows:
When he is hunting for a bag of blood for his Master’s supper, meeting someone he thinks he might know is a decidedly bad thing.
The bartender glares at the pair of you before picking up the coin and turning around to find a bottle of wine.
“Now, would you do me the honour of telling me your name?” Astarion asks, settling into his most irresistible smile.
You tug the hood lower over your face, avoiding the inspecting stare, but Astarion can clearly see how your eyes are darting around, looking for ideas for a false story.
“T-Tav. I’m, uhh, a merchant. Selling… the local farmers’ crops down by Waukeen’s Rest.”
Potato sack woman, indeed, but also the saddest display of deception Astarion has seen in years. Your voice, however, doesn’t ring any alarm bells, so he might as well continue.
“Nice to meet you, Tav. My name is Astarion,” he purrs. He takes the two glasses and offers one to you. You accept it but don’t drink.
“What shall we drink to?” he inquires.
You shift on your feet, uncomfortable with the situation. It is not quite the reaction Astarion is used to receiving when pointing his charms and full attention at someone. You’re avoiding his gaze, hiding behind the hood and scarf. How annoying.
“Darling, is something the matter?” Astarion asks in a hushed tone that says ‘you can trust me’.
The jury of your mind is frantically trying to reach an agreement – and, unsurprisingly, it turns into Astarion’s favour. You turn to fully look at him. It’s his first win of the night, but still far from winning the bet.
“I need to get out of the city. Tonight,” you say so quietly that barely any sound leaves your lips.
Astarion leans closer like a co-conspirator. “Is that why you were trying to pawn off that ring of yours?” he asks and sips the wine.
You freeze. “No! I wasn’t trying to–”
Astarion hushes your rising panic. ”You don’t have to explain yourself to me.” He draws an exaggerated thoughtful look at you and whispers: “In fact, I could help you.”
Your eyes narrow. “And why would you do that, good sir?”
“Oh, I like to call myself somewhat of a humanitarian,” he replies coolly, swirling the wine in his glass.
You still eye him suspiciously. Your scarf gradually falls, revealing red-painted lips. “Apologies for my wariness, but how exactly do you plan on helping me? The gates at the main road are closed for the night,” you point out.
Astarion shoots a humorous look at you. “Darling, there are other ways to leave the city besides the road.”
You arch a brow at the suggestion. Unbeknown to each other, maybe both of your fortunes are about to take a turn.
“Such as?” you ask.
“Why spoil the surprise?” Astarion smiles irresistibly, leaning towards you, but you coil back.
“Can’t say I like surprises. Especially tonight,” you say and Astarion feels that he started reeling his catch in too early.
He places the wine glass on the counter and looks you in the eyes. Yours are surprisingly pretty – also beautified with skillfully applied makeup that doesn’t add up with the potato sack outfit. How curious. There must be a scandalous story to this and Astarion ponders forsaking his mission for digging out the details. If he hadn’t been on such an unlucky streak already, he probably would’ve changed his mind and actually pried for the whole story.
“Very well then,” Astarion sighs, acting all exasperated at having to spoil the surprise. “My family happens to possess a portal for, ah. A quick escape.”
You twitch at the word ‘escape’ – the reaction is so easy to read.
“Go back to the city? I barely made it this far,” you say quietly.
“What do you mean?”
You realise you said too much and shut up for a moment. “Nothing. It was just a misunderstanding.”
Astarion would smile if the situation wasn’t so delicate. You’re too easy to manipulate.
“A misunderstanding? With who?” Astarion asks innocently with the appropriate amount of concern.
Just as you’re looking around for an escape from replying, the only door of the tavern is suddenly swarmed by three very loud Flaming Fist soldiers.
“There she is!” one of them yells and points directly at you.
You jump up from the bar stool and dash towards the stairs. Astarion turns curiously to look from you to the soldiers, but is suddenly met with the business end of a longsword.
Two of the soldiers run upstairs after you, the fugitive, as the largest one of them growls at Astarion: “What’s your business with her? And keep ‘em hands where I can see them.”
“Saer, surely there’s been a misunderstanding–” Astarion feels the sting of irony as he parrots your  words. “I have no idea who the lady is. I was just buying her a drink.”
The soldier looks up at the bartender who shrugs and agrees: “He paid for them.”
As a testimony, your untouched wine glass still rests on the counter. The soldier sheaths his sword.
“Now, this has been a tad too exciting an evening for myself, so if you’ll excuse me,” Astarion says and gets up to leave. He doesn’t fancy the idea of being thrown into a cell for the remaining night. Prison breaks are so exhausting and usually include wading through the sewers. Eugh.
The soldier doesn’t hear Astarion muttering as he is already marching after the others. But, he doesn’t even make it to the stairs when the heels of something quite large resembling a sack of potatoes lands straight on his head. The man instantly falls flat on his bum from the impact, armour rattling loudly.
You dash past the thunderstruck vampire spawn, spewing profanities as you go and leave a faint blue stream of light in your wake. Your eyes lock with Astarion’s as you turn by the door to check if your pursuers have already recovered.
Astarion can’t help but burst into a fit of laughter.
On the following evening, he sees that the front page of the Baldur’s Mouth is graced by a photo of ‘Tav’, who turns out to be a progeny of the Caldwell family. And so he has his explanation for why you seemed so familiar and were carrying around a gold ring that is worth a house in one of the less classy neighbourhoods of Baldur’s Gate.
As for what you were running from, the paper offers no satisfactory explanation.

LoZ - Yiga!Link is a Riot
I gotta say that the concept of Yiga!Link is effing hilarious. Especially if it's Zelink.
Because, think about it.
In this situation, Ganon has literally everything lined up perfectly. Link, his eons-long, multi-life arch-nemesis is essentially his minion & he likely doesn't even know it.
Kid's probably deep into the sauce too, man.
Then, either along comes this pretty little princess & he's like, "yeah, sorry bro, but I'm gettin' me some of that." Maybe he was kidnapped as a baby & Link & Zelda met previously as kids? Maybe she did something for him that he'd never forgotten, then when they remeet, she does something for him that seals a huge crush on her, & thus can't bring himself to kill her? I dunno, there's a lot of ways this could go. OR, he learns personally that he's the Chosen Hero, the very person he's supposed to despise & kill. Meaning that if the other members learn about it, they'll likely kill him. His whole life comes crashing down around him. The first blow to the cult's programming.
Like, it'd just be such a power move on destiny's part.
Like, as dangerous as Ganon obviously is, he simply does not win for very long. He always looses eventually.
And this would just cement that fact. Like, he had his effing arch-nemesis in the palm of his fucking hand & didn't even know it & he'll still fucking lose.
I dunno about you, but I'd be pretty damn demoralized after that.
I might just need the next 10,000 years dead before my next reincarnation to mentally recover.
---
At the same time, it does make me wonder. Why do non-Sheikah Yiga stick with them? Like, we know the reason why the Yiga was originally formed. A Hylian King from 10,000 years ago forced the Sheikah to decommission their technology, fearing it'd bring about Hyrule's demise. (Which, despite how unfair it was, he was... actually right. Makes me wonder if he actually learned that the Sheikah Tech could be taken over. Maybe he'd been an accomplished mage & had managed to use his magic to take control of the machines, then realizing that he likely wouldn't be around for the next Calamity, he ordered the Sheikah to find a way to prevent the machines from being possessed by magic. But no matter what they did, they couldn't manage to figure it out, or maybe they did for a while, but the king kept testing them to make sure it was fixed. However, much like hacking in real life, there will always be new ways to exploit the system, thus the king was left with no choice but to decommission them.)
But, anyway, what exactly do they tell their members to get them to want to stay? Hell, why were they even still a thing in BotW? Why hadn't they made their move? There were no more guards, or soldiers, only a few trained Sheikah, all of which were either too old to keep fighting or were swiftly getting there, & there'd been no royal family besides Zelda, who was keeping Calamity Ganon sealed away.
Why didn't they take over the rest of Hyrule, asserting their dominance & killing all the loyalists so that when the Hero returned, he'd be an outlaw, thus making his journey harder? (It certainly wouldn't have been the first time something like that would've happened in the series.) In fact, why reveal themselves to him when they meet? Just wait till his back is turned, then Eightfold Blade him in the back! Or have a Yiga replace the Sheikah & Hylian innkeepers/Stable Managers, then when Link rents a bed for the night, give him a poisoned complementary meal! Then, when he collapses, just execute him!
It's that easy! Or it should be, because they're effing ninja!
I mean, they were perfectly fine with killing Dorian's wife, who Dorian had been a member of the Yiga before, thus they've no issue with the act of killing.
Which, btw, why didn't they instead kidnap her, maybe even his daughters too, & use them as blackmail to keep him under their thumb?

How's v name dropping jk any different than jk name dropping jimin? If I look at it from a non shipping pov.
I believe this to be a very fair question.
You asked me not to talk like a shipper so I will try not to bring up the fact that Jimin is his boyfriend so JK can talk about him as much as he wants 😳
Okay anon. When JK goes live, it's clearly with purpose. His lives are what, a minimum of 1 hour? He comes in, talks about himself a bit. Flirts with Army, laughs, answers a few questions then ends up singing at some point. When he mentions Jimin it's again, with purpose. He's talking about his music, he's reacting to his songs or his shows. He's not saying "Jimin" just for the sake of it. He actually has a reason for doing so. It's with context. And alot of it.
JK is not name dropping Jimin. He's talking about Jimin.
And most importantly he does other things too. I think that's the major difference here. Oh and he talks about other members too!
When we come to V, this man did a 2 minute live. He came live for 2 minutes! I mean, it's basically the norm now. We expect it atp. But 2 minutes? I guess to each their own but damn. I don't recall what the last live was about but 2 minutes is not even enough to tell us what he had for breakfast and if or not he slept okay.
When V comes online his fans are expecting to spend time with him, get updates on him, what he's been up to. U know? I remember V once came live, talked about how he was with JK unprompted, and then dipped. He didn't even care to clarify it was during an online game, thus leaving tkkrs causing a ruckus over JK being at V's. Which there is nothing wrong with JK being at V's, but I have an issue with V always telling Taekook stories halfway. He never gives the whole picture. It's a bad habit. And I know he knows that because he doesn't do it when JK is around.
That's suspicious.
And then anon, V doesn't mention other members. V doesn't do anything else. So yeah, V, name drops JK. He does. He doesn't talk about JK. He name drops. His lives as short as they may be, he still manages to say the word "Jungkookah." And its gonna be a single sentence. Almost like as long as the name has been said, there doesn't need to be more. U get?
I am personally immune to his behaviour, but I see why it looks shady to others. He has 5 other members he could talk about. Yet he doesn't. Not even to mention their name, once. Jin is a video game geek. Do u really want to tell me he doesn't play online games with V? V hangs out with Jimin and Jhope too so JK is clearly not the only one he's seeing but why is he the only one he mentions? 🤔
I won't pretend to know his reasons. I won't even speculate because I don't care. But I can admit it's... strange. It's just strange, anon. Maybe if it had purpose, it would make sense. But as it stands, it doesn't. It just doesn't. I'm sorry.

So, I posted not to long ago my honest surprise to this whole endeavor that delevoped right before my own two eyes. Wanted to post my thoughts (?) on it earlier, but today's the day my Internet company decided to be crappy once again, so yeah.
Just as a heads up: I ramble a lot, and I love writing. Beware of that.
Tumblr media
As he said those first lines, let me tell you: I was screaming. Albeit not too much, since I'm used to these kind of scenes to be interrupted rather sooner than later, so I kept my expectations where I could see them. Even then, I was enjoying myself quite a lot.
It's just, them, you know? Like, there this trope (?) that I love where a character whose true self is restrained due to reasons gets to be themselves around this one person or these group of people. Trope that, clearly, applies with these two losers. No wonder I'm so attached to them, huh? I also love losers, but that's beyond the point.
The moments where Jinshi gets to be himself whenever Maomao's around always give me such fuzzy feelings in my chest. Is like reading snippets of a high school romcom's script, you know? And I love high school romcoms! They have that tad of awkwardness proper of their age that always makes me go aw. Or at least the good ones do.
Something that happens to me with this LN is that, and I don't know what the author does but, I always feel like I'm part of these scenes? Like, I'm present. And it can be endearing, but turn awkward as soon as things go wild like here. Nothing wrong with that though: he's a twenty-year-old dude whose teenage hormones have never been satisfied, being the closest he's ever been to his first love, you know what I mean? He's wilding, and I'm not here to judge him on that.
But yeah, my man's head over heels and here he either falls on the most comfortable mattress or crashes against the concrete floor.
Tumblr media
At this moment, I had already banished from existence. Her finally realizing (or allowing herself to realizing) his true feelings is something I've been waiting for for so long it's insane! Now, that doesn't mean that what awaits us from now on are butterflies and rainbows—they're angsty, so it could get worse. Call me pessimistic, I don't care. I won't believe in the progress I so long for until I see it.
Tumblr media
Now, I talked before (and I'll do it again later on) about her denial on their situation, the possibility of them being a thing and all that, so let's focus on loserboy instead.
I get it that he's just so damn tired of this bullshit, yet I highly doubt this is the proper way to deal with things? Either way, he seems to have enjoyed it way too much. Could this be considered a kink awekening? Because if so, he and his European toad should be sent to horny jail ASAP. He's too much of a menace for anyone to handle, I'm telling you.
Tumblr media
I've nothing to say here, unless you wanna hear me scream for the tenth time?
Tumblr media
I mean, can you blame him? Even when he's such a popular guy among the ladies (as she mentioned earlier in the epilogue), none of them can satisfy that rooted need that he has—to have a person by his side who seems him for who he truly is and doesn't judge him for that. Someone who's able to see beyond his looks, even if they're so blindingly attractive is humanly impossible.
And once he believed to have found that someone, of course he never let go. He couldn't care less about their difference in status, because what's so wrong to want to be genuinely happy for once in your life? Is it so wrong if they don't share something so insignificant when it comes to love with you?
Maybe not for him, even thought that'd bring him the discredit of his peers (not like he cares that much about that, though)—but for someone who's constantly avoiding trouble and thus would like to pass as unnoticed as possible? Yes. A lot, may I add.
Not like he cares much, though. His intentions are clear: he's gonna jump on a pool that at first seems dry as hell, hoping for some water to make its presence and muffle his fall.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, but that last line sent me.
But even then,

What to do with Scott…
A question that many many Kimona enjoyers face in our time is thus: “where the hell do we put Scott Pilgrim?”
Tumblr media
The guy is a weird case. He’s the main character, the damn series was named after him, he’s integral to the life and stories of both of these women. Although; he is also a massive cockblock (or vag block?? Idk) and must be obliterated in order for the two to be happy. So, to prevent Kimona fic writers (also known as the greatest and most noble heroes of our time) from needing to contend with this great query again, I shall compile a list of potential things you could do with Scott to get him the hell out of the way. In no particular order.
1. Break Scott and Ramona up
Probably the most direct and simple answer, especially if you’re going for a more cannon compliant, post cannon universe. Though it does kinda invalidate all of the shit they got through to get together if they just split up like that. So I suggest that if you do break them up, make it on good terms. Make it so that it’s mutual and mutually beneficial and mature. Less of a “I hate you and I never want to see you again” and more of a “it was fun, you helped me a lot, but now we gotta go our separate ways in life.” Their development shouldn’t be rendered moot by the breakup, instead make the breakup part of their development.
2. Create an AU where Scott does not exist
A fairly easy one, if Scott doesn’t exist, you can just go along your merry way with your shipping. Fics where Kim finds Ramona before Scott or fics where Scott doesn’t ever fall in love with Ramona for whatever reason also fall under this category. These are good, but a bit bland. There isn’t a great lot you can tell here cause Scott’s douchery kinda holds together the plot pretty much. It is only by him being a rat-ass fuckboy that anyone ever meets anyone in the comics. Also, without having her relationship with Scott, Ramona just doesn’t have her vital character arc that the relationship brings. She’s always gonna be the same ol Flowers when she comes to Kim.
So unless you plan on retelling the entire story of the… everything with Kim instead of Scott, you’ve gotta very flighty and traumatized Ramona Flowers on your hands for the entire fic. Now, this is perfect for angst fics, as using pre-arc flaws to create a tragedy has been a a tool for angst fics since god damn Shakespeare. Also fluff doesn’t really need the “primest character development” in order to be good, so if you’re planning to either make angst or simple fluff then AU is your best bet. If you wanna make something more cannon compliant or lighthearted yet complicated, you’re out of luck.
3. Polycule
Self explanatory. Why not have both? Keep Scott and Ramona’s cute dynamic; and just bring Kim into the mix. While this can be very fun (I’m actually writing a fic where this happens at the moment) it isn’t great for every fic. Cause let’s face it: if you’re here and queer for Kimona, so maybe you do not want to write for the feelings of the dude who got here first so he’s also tagging along. Some people just don’t wanna write Scott, which is perfectly valid. Also, polycules are messy and complicated, both in real life and in fic writing. While complications can create some good drama, it’s also a lot of moving parts to manage. You aren’t getting a Kimona + Pilgrim fic down to 2k words without sacrificing a lot. This one is not built for oneshots or general Pilgrim-haters.
4. Send him off to be with Wallace
Probably one of my favorite options to use. It’s kinda an extension of the “breakup” idea, but it gives a happier ending for Scott, as it lets the breakup make sense. Scott falls in love with Wallace and can’t bear the pining so he communicates with Ramona about it, and they mutually agree that it’s for the better for them to split so he can be with Wells. It also will keep the Scollace shippers at bay, may their apocalyptic wrath be kept at bay /s.
If you don’t really have much stuff outside of Kimona in your fic and don’t know how to get Scott out of the picture, try this one. Just throw in a sentence about Scott being with Wallace and everything will make sense and be chill. Truly an option for us lazy bitches out there who just want yuri. It can also potentially set up some Scollace content later down in the fic if it comes to be of a larger scale, but if you just want your yuri you can throw out a “Scott is with Wallace” line and not need to elaborate further, we get it. All around a flexible, powerful, potent, and fun option. Though if you have any Wallace pairings already set up in your fic and you can’t fit Scollace in, this option obviously won’t be that useful to you.
So…
That’s all of the “bye bye Scott pilgrim” tropes for Kimona fics that I could think of. Now for which one is the best… prepare yourself, the answer is disappointing.
None of them!
No one of these is always gonna work for everything. These tropes are all just tools in your toolbox at the end of the day, and which one you use is up to what you’re writing and how you’re feeling. So don’t be afraid to try multiple of these for your fics, throw shit against the wall like spaghetti. Maybe you’ll find something new that you’ll like.
But that’s enough yapping from me. Now go forth and WRITE!

Keep Me in Your Thoughts (46)
Tumblr media
Marrio and I was in the crowd of dancers, hid hand was in my waist and while the other one was holding my own hand.
"I hope you have a good reason for pulling me away from daemon,"
"I do." We step aside as two other dancers move by us, "...I just wanted to ask if you know...if laenor was seeing anyone by any chance." He said curious, I narrow my eyes at him.
"Besides the princess?" He nod his head, "...yes, his lover for three years, did you pull me away from my betrothal just to ask me that." I glare, he didn't even look gulity as he shrug his shoulders.
"I needed to know, I was just talking to him and he was openly flirting with me, I needed to be sure before i make my move." He grins making me shake my head at him, it been awhile since marrio and I talk, but when we did it was always something about his devious adventures with men and women.
"It never stop you before."
"I know but after that incident with Xoro, I have to start making sure." I chuckle at the memory, xoro's lover was one of my talented knights and when he caught xoro and marrio in bed together. Marrio had to spend his days lock in his chamber with guards in fear of that the man would kill him.
"I keep telling you-"
"Yes, yes, I know," he said dismissal, as he swirl me, I saw daemon walk through crowd us.
"Good. Now, that we're finish here can I go back to my belove." Marrio look over my shoulder and hum.
"Yes, I can only imagine what he could do to me if I keep you much longer, have fun." He smirk before letting go of me to he can take another girl and dance as dancer start switching partners, before I could reach for daemon I was pull away from him by another making us frown at the other.
I turn to look at my brother who wore a gulity, "I'm sorry..." He said making me give him a confuse look, I turn back to look at daemon only to find him talking to rhaenyra, "...She told me she just needed a moment with him." I look back to my brother with a look.
"You got to be jesting." I tried pulling away but my brother held my hand and waist tight, "...Laenor, let me go." I hiss as I turn my head to find daemon in the sea of people, as I am move further and further away from him making it hard to see him.
After trying to tug my hand free, the heel of my boot landed on laenor's toe making wince and let me go, i turn to walk away to find daemon, but with all these bodies it was hard to look for him. I heard my name being call from behind me by laenor, I ignore him as shove my way through the people looking. I was push back by the people as they back up and form a circle and move in a rotation, I sigh trying to find a way around or atleast back to the table.
I felt a hand on my shoulder making me turn around hopeful to see daemon, my assurance died when I came face to face with my little brother. I turn away from him trying for a escape but his hand move to grasp your arm, I turn to him in a glare.
"Let me go." I hiss tugging on my arm.
"Rhaelle, please just give them a few minutes to talk-"
"Why the seven hells would I do that?" I snap.
"Because they need to talk-"
"You saying thus as if i am suppose to care, and let me tell you i don't so let me go or so help me..." My eyes caught two white hair targaryens making me trail off, I push my brother's hand off my arm as I side step him to see daemon cupping rhaenyra's face as he look down at her.
I watch as rhaenyra cling to daemon and how he stare down at her as he spoke softly to her, my lips roll into a purse line as I stare at them, my eyes sting but not from sadness but from anger. I trust him and turn around and does this. Fool. Stupid foolish girl. I blink turning away when I caught daemon's eye, choking back my sadness, my shoulder bump into laenor as I made my escape, I swipe a tear away. I didn't care as I push and shove through the sea of people, I just wanted to go home. I wanted to be anywhere but here. This damn castle it always ruins the most purest of things, I hide my head as I move towards the wall away from prying eyes.
Before I can escape into the corner to demean myself, a arm wrap around my waist making me turn to glare at the individual.
"Do you wish to dance, my queen?" Gwayne ask standing in front of her head to toe in dark green colors, I gawk at him before seeing daemon over his shoulder coming towards us.
I swallow and shook out of my daze and look back at gwayne.
"It...will be my pleasure, lord gwayne." I gave a small smile before being whisk away, I glance back at daemon to see him watching with his jaw slanted.
My eyes turn away from his as I was lead back to the floor, we follow the others as we dance.
"Are you enjoying the celebration, rhaelle." He ask, I was staring at his collar as I hum in response.
"Mmhmm." I was too angry to speak, he didn't need to worry about me.
"I heard the news about you and daemon, congratulations." I grunt moving with in sync with the rest.
"Are you okay?" He ask making me nod my head dully, he sniff before asking again making me snap my eyes up at him.
"I'm just...tired." I look away from him.
"You can't lie fo me, rhaelle. Or have you forgotten that I know you like the back of my hand." I gave an eyeroll at the smugness in his voice, "Come on, tell me what's bothering you." He push.
"It's none of your concern,"
He was quiet, thank the gods, I didn't feel like telling gwayne of what I saw feeling he will judge me or think I am foolish for allowing daemon to embarrass me like this. I wasn't watching where I was going making me bump into another person. Actually, I bump into multiple people as I drag my feet during the dance, my mind was spiraling with anger and sadness making it hard to focus on the dance movements.
"Rhaelle, I know something is wrong just tell me. Is it daemon? Did he do something."
"Look I said it none of your concern."
I look at him as he frown before looking away, I didn't mean to sound harsh, but I'm not in the mood and if he claims to know you so well he would know to not ask again.
"Did he hurt you-"
"No, now leave it alone." I warn.
"I'm just want to make sure-"
"Why do you care? Honestly, why." I snap glaring at him, he look at me taken back.
"Because your my friend and..." gwayne swallow, "...I care about you...a lot." I snap my eyes away from him shaking my head.
"Why didn't you tell me you wrote me those notes when we were children." I change the subject, I didn't want to talk about daemon or even think about him, gwayne's face turn pink as he glance away embarrassed.
"I...I don't know, you assume it was from my father and I just...let you." He shrug his shoulders.
"Daemon says you liked me and that thoros gave you his blessing to marry me, why would he think that I would ever marry you." A flicker of hurt cross gwayne soft features making us stop dancing, he cross his arms over his chest as bend his head down, a ping of gulit fill your chest making you backtrack.
"I didn't mean it like that-"
"I know." He said looking back at me, "I...I never knew why he gave me his blessing, and it was no point in telling you because I knew deep down that you wouldn't want to marry me anyway."
"And what daemon said." Gwayne chew on his botton lip before sighing.
"It's true. I have love you since we were ten and one," My brows pinch together.
"Love? Not loved." He gave a sheepish look with a small pursed smile.
"It was harder to shake you out of my head, than hiding that I was in love with my stepmother. A sweet girl with odd hair and pretty lavender eyes, a dragonrider with wits and a heart of pure gold." He let out a sad chuckle, "I was doom from the beginning, and my father knew so he sent me away."
"Why didn't you tell me all this a long time ago," His words shot a arrow of warmth through my chest, I have nothing hard such sweet words from any men especially daemon, i couldn't believe I didn't see it.
"Your heart already belong to another, and I...I was foolish then, my mind was still lead to believe that my father's words was law and everything he spoke was truth. We wouldn't have worked."
"You don't know that, there was a period where I thought we could me more-"
"But, I was always away doing my duties, but not...him." he said the last word with envy, "...daemon has been by your side since the moment you married my father, he was first to find out you were with child and was next to you during the pregnancy while my father and I were busy. It was always going to be him."
I didn't know what to say, I always thought that no one could truely love me, Otto didn't. I was a pawn that he married to get what he wanted, and Viseys love how I made him feel beneath the sheets, there was no love there but lust. And daemon was something else, it was hard to tell if he really had feelings for me. We were close friends in the beginning and then when he took me back to my chamber after a night out in fleabottom, the sex was passionate and it felt like a bit more to it until he disappeared and he came back in my life and here we are. But, gwayne has loved me since I was mere child, and thinking back all those time he came to check on me and keep me company under the weirwood tree rather than doing his duties made sense.
"Gwayne, I'm so sorry," He furrow his brow and tilt his head.
"For what? You did nothing wrong, if it wasn't for you I probably would have still been under my father's thumb. You were the one who told me to follow my heart and the sea was where my heart wanted to be." He smile.
I return the small smile.
"You deserve better than this." He chuckle low bending his head to look at his shoes.
"Every moment I spend with you and the triplets and baelor and my sister, is enough for me to be proud to have chosen you to hold my heart." I sigh.
"Gwayne–"
"Mind if I cut in." My jaw shut as I felt daemon's presence behind me, I look at gwayne as he smile at me before looking over my head at daemon.
"She's all yours." Gwayne move forward making me pinch my brows together, he bend over pressing a kiss to my cheek before pulling away slightly to whisper in my ear, "You will always be my first and only love." I watch as he pull back and smirk at me, he turn on his heels leaving going through the crowd.
I watch sadly as he leave the hall, the sadness was soon dissolve to anger when daemon came into view. He stare where gwayne left before looking at me.
"What did he say to you?" He ask.
I didn't answer as I turn to leave, he grab my wrist keeping me in my spot. I didn't look at him as I stare at his chest.
"I ask you question." He says mad making me snap my eyes at him.
"Go to hell." He look at me for a moment before letting go and rolling his eyes.
"You don't know the whole story." I scoff.
"And I don't care to hear it." I move pass him bumping my shoulder into him, I walk away I could hear him following.
"M'lady." Janas calls as he came from somewhere, "Are you alright?" I nod.
"Yes, I'm just going for a walk."
"I'll come with–"
"No, it is fine. I will like to be alone." He gave me an unsure look, "Please, Janas. Enjoy the celebration I'll be back, I promise." I muster up a smile making him scatch his beard before nodding.
"Okay, m'lady. But, if your gone for too long, I'm coming to look for you with a army in toe." He said gruffly making me let out a chuckle before nodding.
"Okay." He gave me a smile before stepping aside as I walk to the double doors.

I’m surprised at the amount of billy asks you get. Does it mean that they’re popular? All i know for sure is that they certainly seem to interest a lot of people. And i agree that they really do have the bones for a fascinating character, but the developers couldn’t be bothered to build something from those bones because 1) sim shenanigans, you can’t have your self insert react strongly if you’re meant to project 100% onto them, but billy does have traits that keep getting mentioned by more than one person plus the few actions they do choose and a backstory, which doesn’t seem like cardboard to me imho, but also 2) earl gray, and what invader added is the most damning detail of them all. Or rather, not a detail, but the anchor that sank billy. I know we’re meant to keep flamey and edelgard separate in our minds because edelgard is marketed as a poor sad waifu you must feel compelled to rescue, but it doesn’t erase her actions or flamey. When we have evidence saying that silver snow is meant to be the primary marketed canon route and so much of the conflicts across two games come down to the actions of one person plus a poorly thought out loptous stand in, all it tells me is that the main character was doomed to fail because the developers could not decide how to write a school mystery + romance of the three kingdoms sympathetic to cao cao so they tried to “fix” that or make it “gray” by turning it into a dating sim to artificially raise the emotional stakes. At least to me it says they didn’t have confidence in billy as a main character at all because so much of it hinges on centering edelgard and the players picking faves out of the rest of the cast, and to make it more insulting the compensation is being able to kill billy in the spin off? I myself don’t really have any big faves in the games because i only play them casually and read your blog, but what i do know is that it makes me hate edelgard for essentially being the gravitational center of the games like a narrative black hole and the developers being too cowardly to really cement her as a villain, and it doesn’t make me like warriors either because it doubles down on trying to explain her position instead of telling a story and because shez fans are extremely annoying and rude online, no surprise that many are also edelgard fans.
I'd say it's a cumulation of everything!
I think the fandom (myself included!) might have been a bit harsh on Billy because of their avatar status, even if I still think Rhea's S-support "aloneb4u" is shit and Seteth not giving any fucks about her and centering his support and convos on "we must find her so she will reveal da truth 2 u" is bonkers and both of those instances can't be only attributed to Hresvelg Grey but to "only the player is important", like the theory i came up with the self-insert scissors.
But yeah, I feel like at one point, Supreme Leader hijacked the "main character" or "character at the center of the plot we want to tell" spot, all gravitas went to "can u kill the student who loves u and bear with the sad uwus for the rest of your run ??" instead of, you know, the greater plot Nopes teased us with a Larva vs Sothis that never happened?
I compared FE16's story to many things earlier on, but the general thing is "why are we talking and following the least interesting parts of Fodlan", Supreme Leader's war of unification is meh, bias or no bias, I would have loved to see a War of Heroes game, or even a game set during the Sothis vs Agartha era (or the two why not) - but here we just have Ashnard lite with an uwu glazing, without even tackling a traditional or underlaying issue from the FE series about coexistence between people and acceptance and whatnot.
(the reason why AM is still, imo, a letdown because it ignores the dragon in the room)
What was Billy supposed to be? Supreme Leader's luf interest? A character that can conceptually fall (if they pick Tru Piss) thus can ascend in other routes? A self insert? The character you're supposed to navigate the world with?
I think Billy being a silent protag was a disservice to them - despite all of its faults, Nopes at least gives more light to Billy and it's refreshing, even if the game will never add 1+1 because Hresvelg Grey.
TBH I think Fodlan has its own share of fans being annoying regardless of the character they support - and while Barney is pretty chatty, ultimately Barney is the deviant art OC with two swords because why not, a sekrit past that is never explained and somehow stronger than everyone who is actually as empty as an oyster shell. We don't know what Barney wants, to be a merc? Yeah, but why? Is it because Barney is searching for somewhere to belong - just like Billy in a way - ?
As for the cardboard mention, it's most likely again in relation to Hresvelg Grey and Fe Fodlan's writing - the games don't spend enough time to build a sense of friendship and camaraderie between the cast to make the "betrayal" hurt or even the "y must we kill people we knew :'( " meaningful, so we only have the "wah sensei why didn't you pick me :(" or the general "i'm sad to fight against you" but like, mate, who are you? Why are you lamenting having to fight against Billy - someone who is opposing/invading your country and everything you stand for - like Billy and 12 months in Rhea's rocky mansion meant so much to you, much more than the 17 years of life (with acquaintances, friends, family, etc) you had?
But it's also in relation to Hresvelg Grey and the silent protag - why no one can give a reason - save for Supreme Leader "lizards BaD + MAGA" - to join this route, heck, not even Billy can say why they joined this route...
In French we have a saying that goes "comparaison n'est pas raison" more or less meaning you can't always compare things bcs context and all, but after TS's protag Serenor - who also has Gary Stu moments! - Billy not saying a thing about Supreme Leader's nonsense, frowning at Dimitri and being silent during Claude's monologues is... annoying.
But when Billy isn't in Fodlan games, they can talk and there's still the forbidden rule of not adding numbers - never ! - but they shine more.

TLDR for my rant: it’s perfectly okay to admit you are bad at something, say something YOU made looks bad, and/or talk about the ways something you made didn’t live up to your expectations as long as someone does not internalize the message that because they are bad at something or did something bad doesn’t mean that they themselves are a bad person.
Desperately trying to explain to my therapist the difference between ‘I’m a terrible artists’ (self-derogatory and self-defeating) and ‘I’m a terrible artists (I fully acknowledge that I could be better at this skill given time and effort and that all art has value to someone. However. I am specifically choosing not to hone this skill due to a number of reasons and will never consider myself an ‘artist’. Thus, my art will never get better and I am okay with this)
And how I fall solidly into the latter category and how frustrating it is that it’s never seen that way. I say ‘I’m not an artist lol’ or ‘look at my terrible little drawing!” <-worst drawing you’ve ever seen but that’s okay. It’s always, always met by ‘don’t say that! Everybody is an artist!’ And ‘don’t talk bad about yourself and the things you create :(‘ like.
NO!
Some people do desperately need to hear and internalize those messages but I’m not one of them! My art is terrible! That’s the point! I’m never going to be good at it because I’ll never care to but damn if I’m not having the greatest time ever creating terrible art!
I don’t love the online implication (and real world implication when I tried to take art classes) that being okay with the fact I am bad at something is…a bad thing. A simple fact of life is that everyone is bad at something and it’s okay to both admit and be okay with that fact.
Tangentially related but it’s also okay to admit that when you are new at a skill…you’re probably gonna be bad at it. Like. Someone who’s still learning is gonna have some terrible first efforts and that’s the point. It gives you a growth point.
Example: I made a bag. I decided to add a zipper. It did not go as planned and the end result is in fact rather terrible. Simply a fact. However! I put a zipper! In a bag!! And maybe it does look horrible but that is something I’ve never done before and I did it all by myself and I can simultaneously admit it looks awful but be proud of the fact that I figured it out.
Like art I could be content with the success of finishing the project, but I can also use this as a launching point to get better. What I choose to do is up to me and I don’t appreciate people trying to tell me that I’m not allowed to call an objectively terrible finished project as such.
You cannot and will not ever get better at a skill if you are unwilling to accept that you will be bad at it. It makes that learning that acceptance all the harder when people are taught that they shouldn’t ever say bad things about what they make.
Rather than teaching the message ‘nothing anyone makes could possibly be bad in any way (skill wise)’ we would promote acceptance of ‘this is bad and that’s okay’
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk about ‘not every negative self-comment about something someone is self-deprecating’

Clover Rants Miraculously - No Defense
Spoilers for script/ s5 finale leaks below, so readers beware and all that!
“But why are people defending Lila and Chloe? They helped Hawkmoth and are cruel to Marinette for no reason!”
Look, if I have to choose between two teenyboppers acting out out of spite and a middle school celebrity crush and a grown man who’s actively making bad choices that are hurting his loved ones with himself not even giving a damn because “he just really loves his wife”, then the decision’s practically being made for me - especially if I’m told I have to treat said teenyboppers like they’re Satan incarnate solely because they’re big meanies to the MC instead of everything else they’ve done in series while the man in question has to be celebrated and given everything he wants despite all the pain and bs he’s put both the leads and entire city through because dead coma wife made him sad :C.
And at least the show was honest about Lila being that petty and egotistical enough to team up with a supervillain because it might give her power (and also ruin Marinette’s day) - half the stuff she pulls doesn’t surprise or upset me that much because I was told from the jump she’s a little jerk with no attempts to excuse/humanize it (or telling me I need to feel bad/like her or I’m “bad” too like with Gabe). Meanwhile, of the two times Chloe joined Gabemoth, one required him to go out of his way to manipulate and isolate her into saying yes (Like yeah, she was already told she couldn’t be QB anymore and shouldn’t have been that upset/shocked Ladybug got a different hero to help fight her parents, but that doesn’t change the fact that Gabriel and Nathalie purposely made Chloe think Ladybug didn’t want her help specifically so she’d turn on her more easily), while the other was Chloe...trying to get out of gym class and thus waits for an Akuma to just show up and posses her (as opposed to Lila straight up grabbing one from the air that just happened to be passing through and giving Gabemoth her own evil plan to take down LB just because), so that one was just a regular Akuma of the day plot with a minor twist. Otherwise, Chloe’s just a self-centered jerk who does whatever makes her feel like she’s the best but overall is frankly harmless (as Marinette and co either ignore her or quickly undo her nonsense) unless she’s throwing daddy’s mayor title around - something that was also told to me at the start. The fact that the show is only now trying to make these two seem like, King Ghidorah levels of evil/bad (especially when they took no time to help build up Lila to her future big bad status like they clearly wanted it to seem like due to never using her more) when they’re done nothing to really earn it (yes, even with the events of “Ladybug” and “Miracle Queen”) is...kind of silly, especially in comparison to Gabriel’s crimes. Yeah, they should face some form of consequence for the bullying and deliberate akumatization, but on a scale that actually matches those actions.
On the other side of it though, Gabriel is literally doing everything he can to make his son and said son’s girlfriend miserable as possible as he torments the people of the city into becoming his willing/unwilling goon squad to fight two magical teenagers for their Miraculous, yet we’re supposed to just see it as “a misunderstanding” and accept him getting rewarded with the wish and Emilie’s revival because “oh, just let the poor magical terrorist have his dead wife back! He really is sorry and feels bad about it - not enough not to use his son as a bargaining chip for an evil magical eugenics cult and backstab the heroine after she gives him a chance to repent and steal her magical objects to get the Wish, but he really rweally fweels bwad”. If Chloe has to be disowned and Lila forced into one of her many alt-identities as a result of their actions, then Gabriel should not get to have his happily ever after self-sacrifice, even if it does end up hurting Adrien in the long run.

The Witcher S3 Ep6: Everyone Has A Plan 'til They Get Punched in the Face
There is no aka this time, because how could I ever dream of coming up with something better?
(There was so much happening, I didn't even get to properly appreciate Jaskier's doorway lean)
You might, but I don't, Djikstra. The fuck?
Also why are you coming after the mages?
Not Artaud! He was chill. I think...who was he again?
Oof that sounded like a threat to Yen. Geralt don't take kindly to those
Do all mage chambers have hidey holes behind the walls?
I don't like that look...Jaskier, why did you tell him the barrier came down at dawn?
🥺 babies...
Don't be so fast to count my wife out, Lydia. Especially if she's in a place with friends
Well, that takes care of that. I thought she was a much more significant character...
I like Radcliffe. He's probably going to die
There can be more than one traitor, Tissaia, especially among men that think themselves all powerful
I don't think those are Redanian...
Well if you didn't want him to be rash, maybe you shouldn't have threatened Ciri
Just 50? I think you might need more than that, your current ones are folding like a hand of cards
Get fucked. Like, I kind of wanted to root for you and your duplicitous ass, but you don't need to be such a dick about it
Do we actually trust Cahir to do that? Or is he going to cart her straight home to Emperor CreepyDad? He serves so many masters at this point, and thus serves none
RIP Filavandrel! Damn!
Oh heeyyyy Fringilla! FrinFran reunited! And fucking shit uuuup!
Oh shit. I knew that ring was going to be trouble...
That. Was. Sexy. And the best way for Fire Fucker to die. Mom and Dad teamwork, no chance of resurrection
Ooh. These twins are neat.
God, Istredd 👀👀 Triss and Marti too honestly
Tissaia, don't give up...please...
Triss is not allowed to die. Especially now that I'm shipping it extra hard
That was an excessive number of arrows guys...
🥺 "my daughter" "come back to us" this family, I can't 😭
OT3 maybe? I'll have to figure out how to add in Cahir's name when FrinFran is so perfect...
Damn Tissaia. That...might also be killing your people but it's super badass
Get. Fucked. Vilgefortz. If you touch a single gorgeous hair on his head...
Where did you just send my boy?!
You should have known better my guy. Philippa and Djikstra are never far apart
Go Ciri! Rage your little heart out! And hold your own against a trained soldier like Cahir, even on the defense
Ooh! It's the moment Bonnie's been waiting for!
You are one man against five on horseback, bitch...what are you doing?
...where is my beloved bard in all of this chaos? Honestly also my beloathed one?
Am I...rooting for Stregobitch in this moment? I feel itchy and uncomfortable.
Shit, now what?
Ooh, Renfri's brooch/gem glowing is new and fun. Is it just for effect, or Significant?
Where is your other sword though? I feel like Vilgefortz is a two-sword situation
Oh yeah, that really helps your case that you're the good guy...
Oh look, he's been impaled
Shiiiiit...Geralt might actually not walk away from this one...
Why? Why only you? Who the fuck are you? You still haven't given a good reason for shit
🎵Get fuuuuucked🎵
Wait, he was on the beach, how'd he end up in the water?
Triss and Geralt having a Little Mermaid moment?
That's probably not a good thing, but it was really cool so...
