#they thought I was having a seizure

I was thinking about your angst post and how it's a little precursor to the TikTok saga-
What if Eddie's doing a live stream and for whatever reason, Ozzy's not around. Potty break maybe, he's usually no more than 2 minutes. But of course all it takes is 2 minutes for Steve to slip into a seizure, one of his bad ones. And the live catches enough of it before Eddie frantically tosses his phone and ends the stream. How do you think fans would react?
I’ve actually had a similar thought to this!
Eddie has never sat down and been like, ‘this is what’s wrong with my husband.’ Why would he? Steve is not a celebrity. He has no interest in fame, he’s deeply private, and it’s no one’s business. Eddie has occasionally made comments or referenced Steve’s health issues just because it’s apart of their lives.
Dedicated fans who take all these little throw-away comments and create a profile of Eddie’s life will connect the dots between ‘Steve gets migraines’ and why the lights are low in a video or ‘Ozzy is a service dog’ to the thud you can hear on a live-stream that causes Eddie to run out of the room. There have been many times where Eddie has been live and will drop everything, leave the room, and not come back for minutes to hours. He never provides an explanation of where he went or why.
Eddie’s live streaming in his home studio. He’s got his guitar in his lap and a notepad next to him, and he’s playing this little interactive game he does with his fans where they’ll write a song together. Steve’s not a common feature to live-streams like this but he’s slightly in-frame tonight.
Eddie’s writing down a lyric a fan sent in the chat when he’s suddenly hit in the face by a hand. He startles and opens his mouth to complain but when he looks at Steve, all he sees in the jerky motion of Steve’s arm as it spasms.
And he freezes with his mouth still hanging open. He freezes like he always does when it’s a big seizure because his first thought is never seizure, it’s always Chrissy Cunningham. He freezes so he doesn’t think to move his phone away immediately. It’s only a half-second that he’s sitting there with his mouth hung open and terror in his eyes before he springs into action, but it feels like a million years to him and the chat.
Eddie bumps the table with his phone on it, and it falls so all the chat can see is the woodgrain, but they can hear Eddie talk to himself as he moves Steve into a safer position. They can hear him talk to Steve about how it’s okay, “It’s a big one but it’s okay. It’s fine. We’ll shake it out and go to bed, and – and where’s Ozzy? Oz?!”
It is a tense two and a half minutes and then silence until Eddie picks up his phone, ends the live-stream without a word, and calls Dustin. He’ll find out later that Steve had let Ozzy out into the backyard and forgot about it. He’ll make plans to install a doggy door that they’ll probably never do and when Steve wakes up exhausted and not all there, Eddie will repeat every reassuring word that he can think of until Steve falls asleep knowing that he’s safe.
In the morning, he’ll see the outpour of people worried, concerned, sympathetic with their own stories of seizures. He’ll make a short video letting people know that Steve is fine. He’s resting. He’ll let his students know that he won’t be at school, but that he’s already writing pop quizzes if they aren’t good for the substitute. But Eddie will never tell Steve that the twenty thousand people in his live stream that watched him have a seizure are wishing him well because he doesn’t think that it’ll go over well.

Oh man, the French version of Turnabout Corner is the gift that keeps on giving.
So you know how the first time you use the bracelet, Trucy says to Apollo, “Your eyes are kinda bugging out”? Well, in French, she says something different! She tells Apollo “Tes yeux sont un peu dans le vague,” which essentially means “You’re staring off into space/into the distance.”
And I kinda love that? Don’t get me wrong, the image of Apollo’s eyes bugging out as he stares at a witness is very funny, but so is the idea that he seems to go all “no thoughts, head empty” for a sec—especially in 4-2, when using Perceive on the witness is literally your last-ditch effort to avoid getting a guilty verdict. To everyone else, it must look like Apollo has used up the last of his brain cells, when in reality he’s actually putting his special power to work.
But I also think there’s some cute little angst potential here? Like, after the first time or so, everyone gets used to Apollo zoning out in the middle of a trial, especially if he goes blank for only a second or two. But that means that if something is wrong with him, it’s going to take everyone a bit longer to notice.
Alternatively, maybe there’s nothing wrong—he just needs a little longer than usual to perceive a nervous tell—but everyone freaks out a bit when it’s been a few seconds and Apollo’s still staring off into space. Like, I can see Klavier getting worried and starting to vault over the prosecutor’s bench to see what’s wrong, and then Apollo snapping out of it like “? What tf are you doing?? Sorry I can’t make my eyes work fast enough for you.”

so today in latin class we were reading our textbook, specifically a section that was similar to a passage in the Aeneid where the ghost of Aeneas’s first wife, Creusa, basically tells him to move on from her and shit. which is interesting on its own but my brain immediately jumped to battle of the labyrinth.
something about Nico summoning Bianca. in our textbook it kinda combines the idea of Odysseus summoning ghosts from the odyssey and the speech Creusa gave and. that feels a lot like what happened in that scene with Nico. Bianca telling him that he needs to forgive Percy. that he needs to move on without her.
“quid tantum insano iuvat indulgere dolori, o dulchis coniunx?” ; “What does it help to give in to such great insanity, o sweet partner?” (Aeneid Book 2 Lines 776-777)
“lacrimas dilectae pelle Creusae.” ; “Push away your tears for your beloved Creusa.” (Aeneid Book 2 Line 784)
“‘Why didn’t you answer me sooner?’ he cried. ‘I’ve been trying for months!’
‘I was hoping you’d give up.’
‘Give up?’ He sounded heartbroken. ‘How can you say that? I’m trying to save you!’
‘You can’t, Nico. Don’t do this. Percy is right.’” (Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Battle of the Labyrinth pages 166-167)
…all im saying is rick is a literary genius and i have horrible brain rot

the level of specificity used to describe a kind of headache really tells you all you need to know about whether that person has chronic issues with headaches.

going more into detail on that ‘gravity what now’ au because the summary was a bit vague. ‘everything is terrible and ford thinks it’s targeting him’ and ‘the fact that it takes place in researcher ford era is dubious’ and ‘stan and fiddleford are getting along while ford is suffering’
so here’s a collection of events/general things that started happening to our trio sometime after they got to gravity falls:
-ford has traumatizing nightmares about bill, despite never having met him or even been into the cave yet. without going too into detail, these nightmares give him: a fear of sleeping, a fear of darkness, and severe touch aversion. it is also one of two things that starts to erode his relationship with stan, as a result of the latter not taking the nightmares seriously
-ford tries to curb his newfound fear of the dark via exploring the cave behind the waterfall. it doesn’t work, but he does meet the geodites and become fond of them. he visits the waterfall cave often, as nothing in the woods ever seems to follow there
-it takes eight separate tries for stan to believe ford when he says there’s something dangerous in the woods. it only takes the last time because ford came back with undeniable evidence. this is the second thing that damages their relationship
-ford continually witnesses things in the surrounding woods that the other two never do. this is intensely frustrating for him
-on two separate occasions in the woods, ford comes across fiddleford and stan in rather gruesome states. they are both perfectly fine and have no idea what he’s talking about when he gets back to the shack (not actually the shack but y’know). these two events were very real, they just weren’t actually fiddleford or stan
-stan and fiddleford bond over engineering (stan taught himself how to repair cars, we already know about fiddleford’s robot thing). they also cook meals together. they’re having a wonderful time guys
-ford has seen so many some-type-of-creatures that he’s started talking to them and they’ve started talking back
-one of the creatures has started trying to give him words of advice. it doesn’t take because said creature is unsightly and does it while perched on the trio’s roof like a spider
-ford has no healthy coping mechanisms. he doesn’t have time for them and he barely even knows what that word means anymore
-fiddleford gets really good at making various kinds of treats for when ford has especially bad days. he has no idea what’s going on with him, but that doesn’t mean he can’t try to help
-fiddleford was invited to gravity falls first (so quickly he didn’t even get a chance to meet emma-may). stan was invited second
-both the stan twins are going through it in different ways and fiddleford’s just trying to keep the peace
-ford takes in a stray cat. stan doesn’t approve, fiddleford questions it, neither of them are stopping him. feline lifeline

Enjoying your youth is acting on the random impulse to go make ramen on the stove in the dead of night with an rgb speaker as your only source of light with a hyperpop Playlist on. So anyway, I have lovingly deemed this "Mindfuck Ramen" and hope to make it again.
