Sure anon, why not. I'm not a photographer so the quality of these is kind of slushy at best. I like nature and wander around a little bit, but I rarely hike properly, so I don't go to that many scenic places. These are mostly from regular walks. Long post warning.

Summers are short but very green, and since we're at the arctic circle we get sunlight around the clock. Some of these were taken at midnight or early morning small hours. Most of Finland is very sparsely populated and covered in boreal forests.

Finland is a very watery country, lots of lakes in particular.

Sometimes you get intense sunsets

And winters are very cold, snowy and last about six months. In summer we have midnight sun and in winter there's the polar night to counter it. Around late December sun only rises for about two hours per day where I live so it's very dark for many, many weeks on end (which is wonderful if you get seasonal depression like I do). But sometimes the weather and lighting are just right and you get this ethereal pastel effect that I love.

#we also have northern lights pretty regularly and those can be magical but I'm not enough of a wizard to take good pictures of them #I have a friend who Photographs Nature With Intent and goes to all these natural parks to do it #but I'm not them so this is the best I can do #I particularly regret that I don't have any bog/swamp/marsh pictures to show you because they're actually really aesthetic locations #believe it or not #and an iconic part of Finnish nature #anonymous #long post #answered #lamentably the best ethereal pastel effect only happens on very cold days like from -20°C to -30°C #so if you take out your phone and remove gloves to snap a photo your phone battery dies very quickly and your fingers freeze #so it's a bit inconvenient

James and Peter childhood friends off-shoot where after a miserable first year watching James latch onto Sirius and leave him behind, at the start of second year, Peter makes best friends with Sirius' little brother.

Sure, a decent chunk of the motivation there is spite, because it puts the most excellent pinched expression on Sirius' face, and James can't say anything about it without proving that Sirius is his favourite, despite the summer of denials that he's leaving Peter behind; but Regulus knows it's spiteful from the start.

Little eleven year old Regulus appreciates Peter being honest with him. He's honest in return, when he tells him he only first entertained his attempts to befriend him for the same reason; to lash out at Sirius after all the awful things he said to him after he was sorted into Slytherin.

Their friendship quickly becomes real, anyway, quickly turns into something solid, unshakeable the way being in James' favour never really has been - because Regulus needs Peter, and Peter needs him back, and while it's not necessarily healthy, it still works - and by the time Regulus is finishing his fourth year and Peter is finishing his fifth, he thinks he'd probably call them best friends.

Separate from James and the other boys, of course; but still just as important.

And then Sirius runs away to the Potters that summer. And Remus still isn't speaking to him. And Peter tries to be his friend, tries to be there for him, shows up at James' house with a smile for Effie, tries not to glow too much under the familiar weight of Monty's hand on his shoulder-

And James tells him to leave. That Sirius needs time, needs to be alone, to process, and half a hundred other things, like Peter didn't hear him snap that he doesn't want to see Peter specifically when the other boy shuffled upstairs to tell him he'd come to check on him.

(Logically, Peter knows that Sirius is suffering, and that he's mean when he's in pain. Sirius is his friend too, after all. But it's hard to be logical when you're sixteen and the person who stole your best childhood friend is making said friend kick you out of his house, when all you wanted was to be kind.)

When they get back to school, Peter has a plan. An elaborate, probably pretty mean, but as far as he's concerned entirely deserved plan to give Sirius a taste of his own medicine. And, well, to apologise to Remus for dithering between the two of them for as long as he did, because even after the years of distance growing between them he still doesn't know how to tell James no.

He's going to set up Regulus and Remus.

Take that, Sirius Black.

You probably already seen it by now but I wanna say something about it being a store anniversary model and people saying it feels more like a AOS model than 40k

I think GW just chooses a faction each year to get an anniversary model and they get something weird and out there that maybe doesn't really fit normally but this isn't a normal model and that's it, this year it was T'au and whoever designed it had the opportunity go do something weird and fun with it and I love it for that! Definitely a fun novelty and she'll be the 6th Ethereal in my council :)

I really like they made her a female Ethereal as it's the first one to ever have a model to my knowledge! Also the options to represent each caste with the fumes coming out of the little pot in her hand is adorable tbh, I'll be giving mine fire I think but I can imagine people who only have battlesuits to choose earth or those with lots of flyers to choose air, water for those that wanna talk before shooting I suppose?

She's looking a bit angry but I think it's the eye lids being down to make them look calmer as that's usually the energy Ethereals have about them, maybe it's the paint job or the pictures but we'll see when I got it in my hands what I can do about it.
