one thing i love about obikin is that the boys are not terribly distinct in terms of their height or weight or strength (at least in live action, filoni's clone wars makes obi-wan appear very slender and small, almost in order to make anakin look bigger and more masculine, but that's a whole other discussion). i like that their physical similarities only emphasize the brother-in-arms, complementary halves of a single warrior aspect of their bond, how they're the dark and light sides of the same coin, one of aristophanes's soulmates split apart and seeking to be reunited as one body. like yes vader becomes super tall and massive when he becomes more machine than man, but back when he was just anakin, he and obi-wan saw almost exactly eye to eye, they didn't have to work to whisper in each other's ears, and fighting back to back was easy and natural. young anakin grew up until they became equal and opposite halves of the team, until they weren't anymore, but lord it was beautiful when they were.

Eraqus and Xehanort parallels Sora's and Riku's relationship.

But a relationship in which Sora failed to save Riku.

Aqua said a similar thing to Sora, to make sure he would save Riku from darkness if he would ever take a dark path.

It's interesting because Xehaqus is basically a what if situation with Sora and Riku.

What if ... Riku couldn't fight off Ansem and he kept using his body for darkness.

What if... the darkness consumed him too much?

And you see when Riku is showing signs of being with darkness, Sora hates that he has to fight him. He doesn't want to, he just wants his friend back.

Another thing I want to point out is Eraqus is considered lazy at first. Sora was also considered that a bit.

Riku mentioned how Sora would just sleep without a care and he had to build the raft himself since Sora was slacking off.

Their dynamic is also similar with how they interact both teasing and messing around.

Eraqus is seemed more of a jokester and silly, while Xehanort is more serious but teases Eraqus. It's the same way for Sora and Riku's relationship.

Last comparison, when a certain character makes and decision and leaves Xehanort says this line which is the same thing Riku says about Sora wanting to help his friend and get her back.

OK OK though I’m rewatching Willow and in ep 6 (the troll prison one) Elora is feeling anxious and making the whole mountain shake. The thing I missed on first watch is: this is her mastering the magical art of divination.

When she’s panicking the most, the audio is not flashes of random yelling the audio is Kit hurting her feelings in that moment where she just loses it on Elora because she thinks her dad loved Elora more. The emotions Elora is feeling aren’t random anxiety they’re premonitions of the way she’s going to feel when Kit says that to her. And when Kit hurts her like that, Elora feels it so strongly that it’s almost enough to bring down a mountain.

Considering that both Bharat and Kevin thought they deserved to be able to be happy and have a family after what they did to Stone & Sarabi respectively, I understand hating them both.

I just realized it, but holy shit do both of these men just take and take.

Bharat kicked Stone out after going to therapy and decided he was just going to start over without Stone. As if that would erase the sixteen years of trauma he inflicted on his own flesh and blood.

Kevin asked Sarabi to stay in a loveless marriage and then had the audacity to ask him to stay legally dead so he could marry the love of his life. Sarabi spent five years trying to get that man to fall in love with him only for Kevin to spit in his face every change he got.

So yeah, fuck them both.
