this might be controversial but i feel like so many straight men arent even attracted to their sexual partners? they just use them to get off.

they feel entitled to a megan fox or porn star type (no matter what they themselves look like) but since they cant get that they settle for the next best thing because its better than nothing. thats why many men cheat as well, theyre just waiting for something better to come along.

this is such a widespread phenomenon theres even several sayings on it. in german: „loch ist loch“ which translates to „hole is hole“ meaning no matter where your dick lands at least you got off and „lieber widerlich als wieder nicht“ which (loosely) translates to „i‘d rather have sex with an ugly/gross one than no sex at all“.

sex for so many men is completely centered on putting their dick somewhere and ejaculating. many straight men dont love pussy, they dont necessarily desire their partners, they just see them as a means to an end, or otherwise they would put in actual effort to satisfy her as well. this is underlined by this cliché of women being so difficult to reach orgasm, when in reality, women often dont know how themselves because they internalise they cant come and dont get in touch with their own sexuality, and men dont bother trying.

ive heard from many female friends that they want sex more than their male partners because they always leave them unsatisfied. for most men sex is over when they come. and if they actually cared about and desired their partners they would ask how to satisfy her as well. dont get me wrong, orgasm isnt the end and center of sex, but there is a clear clear gap here.

and i think in longterm heterosexual relationships, women get so frustrated they just dont want sex at all anymore. this might also lead to the „my wife always has a headache when i want sex“ dumbassery because at some point women more or less consciously tell themselves im sick of being used by him to get off. i‘d rather have no sex than unsatisfying sex. then men use this to justify why they cheat and neglect their wives, well we dont have sex anymore so she isnt of as much value to me anymore. when its their own fault the wife checked out of their sex life.

this also explains why sex buyers are mostly male. they either feel entitled to fuck an attractive woman they wouldnt get without paying or they just want to get off and need a vessel.

i know i will get some idiot in the notes saying my jakey isnt like that. okay good for you. but what about his former sexual partners? and what about all the other women who have given up on sexual satisfaction by men out of frustration or maybe even think they are the problem? this is not a fringe phenomenon this is reality for many women who have sex with men.

and how would it be different? the whole sex industry is catering to men. and we have established that porn is seeping through the cracks into the mainstream. which only makes sense if most men start watching porn from a young age and carry what they learn there into the bedroom with unsuspecting women.

this shit makes me so angry! women deserve so much better!

Dovekie (Alle alle)

"Theyre small atlantic cold water bird that looks a lot like a penguin! I grew up in a small fishing village and they were very commonly sighted in the shores around the winter, to the point where locals would call them Little Winter Birds" "The cutest little bird you ever did sea :3"

"The flight is direct, with fast whirring wing beats due to the short wings."

Dovekie are also known by a few other names, such as little auk, rotch (or rotche), and sea dove, although sometimes that can refer to the black guillemot as well. They typically eat crustaceans, and will eat up to a fifth of their body weight daily!

Little auks breed in large colonies on marine cliffsides. They nest in crevices or beneath large rocks, usually laying just a single egg. Their typical predators are glaucous gull and Arctic fox, though there have been reports of polar bear feeding on dovekie eggs.

Despite being tiny little guys, there are a few different types of food that can be made of little auk. One dish, known as Kiviaq, is Inuit in origin, from Greenland. A seal skin is stuffed with 300-500 dovekie, then sealed with seal fat and left to ferment for 3-18 months, where it will then be eaten during the winter. In Newfoundland, the birds were stuffed with savory dressing and oven-baked, but were known as a food of last resort in order to prevent starvation. This is likely due to the fact it would take 5 to 6 birds to feed a person, and that the meat is lean.

Answering a question i got from the very very lovely @knifedog-machina during the Centaurus Festival!!! (Sorry it took so long, but hey, at least its done.)

hey lumine, i have a couple questions if you're comfortable answering!

- what are your experiences like, having a lot of kintypes? because you describe Welt and such being around, being a comforting presence, do they talk to you as well as you Being them, kinda like a median system thing?

(I didnt even get to talk about all the damn walk-ins...maybe in another text post...OTL)

So, for ppl who arent aware, i have just. An absurd amount of kintypes (from what ive seen of the average). Around 125 are logged, with them split between about 70 Kinfirmed, 40 questioning, and 15 hearted/other. These numbers are a little gooey but its About Right.

My experience with having So Many Fuckin Little Shits is a bit othering to say the least. Sometimes i see ppl who are like "oh yeah! Im xkin, xkin, and i have three heart types." And im like *wistfully stares into the sun* i remember 2013....i remember having 3 kintypes....god...those were the days.

Sometimes i wish i just had a handful. I wish i had enough that i could just lovingly and deeply dive into becoming as close as i could to them as possible. But like, thats not my lot in life, not my purpose (apparently OTL)

To put it simply, its a lot. Its just. Everyones here. To some degree. They all take up space in my head, some more than anothers. It can be overwhelming. Sometimes it feels like a collection (even though it isnt.) Its like an art gallery but youre just looking at a bunch of different artists renditions of you, and no matter where you look, its you. Whether thats a good thing or not. You see yourself in everything, your ass is even in the goddamn giftshop. At least you look like a cute bunny purse, you guess.

Sometimes its exhausting to be scrolling ur dash and getting the microdose of dopamine when u see a pic of some animal or pokemon or person and go "oh hey! It me. :))"

Theres so fucking many of me..and me adjacents and me paralells and theres also that almost sinking feeling when u see sth and ur first interaction with it is "oh god please i dont want another kintype." And then sometimes u realize a bunch of things could possibly be you , so you scoop them up in your arms and dump them unceremoniously into the fuckin pile of "questioning" bastards that have been there for years, unsorted, unscrutinized. But they...they may be you right? Well fuck, dude, they LOOK like you.

But...what makes.something look like you? What makes you....*you*?

Its difficult to parse these emotions. Sometimes you see something, you get That Goddamn Kinnie Feel and youre just Activated. You just *know*. And now youre stuck with it, for who knows how long! It could be a year. Maybe theyll fade because that part of you faded. Maybe itll be there for the next ten years like some of the first ones did. Its like a goddamn emotional comittment, accepting these shits as part of you, AS you.

ESPECIALLY when you have a sort of...history, trend, penchant, whatever, of having a specific "type" of kintype. For me, this is foxes and the

Context, i have like. 20 fictotypes/fictives (we'll get to that fellas) that are all blonde white bastards. So, when i see someone blonde, my IMMEDIATE reaction is "okay bitch, what ARE we?"

I have a lot of Fox Types: vulpix/nintales, flareon/eevee, foxsquirrels, etc.

To summize having a lot of kintypes; its like having a mini zoo, and zoos require upkeep and investment, and no matter what you feel, whether u like it or not, ur the zookeeper , and every animal needs to be put into ur consideration. Theres just. A lot over there in that giant field that are meandering around bc u cant be assed (or are too mentally exhausted) to make enclosures for. Bc...what if they need to leave anyway? What if theyre there for a week? But u built a damn enclosure that now sits empty.

And then you wake up one day. And now a few of the animals are standing on two legs, talking to each other, and fucking filing taxes. And now theyre REALLY in your head. And now theyve developed personalities, and oh GOD DAMMIT theyre starting to affect your moods and actions and behaviors!! What the hell is this!!!

This is where i talk about the fact ive been sort of...sniffing at the idea of being a system. Tho i think i prefer plural because thats just. Broad enough for me, bc its such a hard concept to write down or really, digest for me in a way, even tho im CLEARLY experiencing it.

So lets briefly pop back into the zoo analogy.

The animals that are now very much sapient and living rent free in your house, have phone numbers. They have emails. You can fax their asses at three am. They may not like it, but theyll get the memo. And that memo says "get the fuck out here, im casting summon bitch and its your turn"

But dont forget!! That thing is still you. Right? Is it? We think so. It may not think so. But you see that thing, and you think to yourself "yeah. Thats me. God dammit" so its not even like that animal is its own thing (entirely). It still smells and tastes like you, even if it doesnt have the same personality or thoughts.

Ive been...toying with the idea of what i call a "summonable system" in which any fictotype I have (since all my like purely feral theriotypes are simply that: feral, and would just bark if addressed) can be "summoned" to the front of the headspace.

I dont know if this is a thing already. Researching systems seems so fuckin confusing and varied and my adhd rat brain has SUCH a difficulty with breaking down vague or not clear cut things. (Not anyones fault. Describing plurality is not an easy feat.)

Some of these guys WANT to be out. Some are just feelin themselves and want to be interacted with (hi, lyney, youre an attention whore, you arent slick), some are pretty calm, but when they're present they're happy to speak up (Thanks, welt), some are pretty neutral most of the time, and can go either way (youre doing ur best ganyu, its okay).

Some are a lot more stingy and are a pain to pull out. Some are like "leave me the fuck alone, im tired or i dont like this" (go back in ur hutch, felix). Some are or have been dormant, and are in a sort of deep sleep (please dont fully wake up shadowman, i cant do gay ninja emotions rn thanks).

And some just want to talk to whoever wont tell them to shut up right away (hey kaveh, me too bitch lmao)

Some just got woken up after a VERY VERY long time of being asleep (hi X! Please dont panic. Hey alia, sorry for all the paperwork, ask Jean for any forms you need. Axl, youre not even totally awake yet. Go back to bed.). Sometimes they brought the sort of weird memory-hologram of their friends (zero, please stop being weird on main for attention, yes youre blond, but you decidedly arent me.)

And now you have to figure out how to manage all this shit.

I dont exactly know what a median system is (yet. Theres...so so sos os o sosososos many new terms im having to learn. Its exhausting) but i wouldn't say they talk to me directly. I think its more of me telling "hey its okay, im going to do sth for you to help you relax" (agere for freminet) or "can u fucking chill out i do NOT need to be feeling extremely manic and aggressive/egotistical/horny/abusive (dont fucking act like that wasnt a three day stint, Lyney, just bc ur quote, unquote "working on urself.")

I think the only person who really shows up to "talk to me" (once every couple years) is an old old old old old friend of mine, Lunei. Hes the "protector" of the system, if there ever was one.

However!! Welt *is* a pretty comforting presence. (When hes not being weird lmao). He's one of the few men in my roster. I have some guys, but theyre usually pretty effeminate or like, young teen-esque (Kaveh, sit down, i dont want to hear it. Bass...we'll talk.)

In the same way that Shadowman is a calm man, Welt brings a sense of "its okay" to the headspace. Shadow is a lot more poetic and gentle and wistful and philosophical, while Welt balances this sort of...relaxed, down to earth vibe and yet is still creative and nuturing at the same time.

When he "comes out" or fronts or whatever, hes so fuckin chill about the body -- bc like i mentioned in my post about my divine kintypes, hes one of the very VERY select few kintypes that i believe are the most intrinsic and inseperable from my core being, and what i have been in past lives and will continue to be in future lives -- a "world walker." He, lumine, and I share this. Whereas id say lumine is almost a direct, but sort of tilt shifted mirror image of myself, Welt is sort of...a what I expect a fully Matured Me would be. Is. Were all the same, just a big gooey timey wimey fuck all mess of Me.

Welt is just. Hes a cool dude simply bc hes been thru so fuckin much, dealt with going from Some Guy Trying To Get A Stupid Art Degree to Holy Shit I'm Kind Of A God Now?

And then he went "fuck this im leaving my wife and kid to go after this hot student i had (thats the jokes, he wanted to look after Himeko bc he was worried about her lmao)"

Hes retired and i go into this more in my other post, but its the idea that he was, "god-touched" in a way and now hes just. Hes just!!! Hes living his life. Hes a man who's had a lot of experiences and seen a lot of shit and able to rationalize very well.

Like i was saying, when he fronts, hes so cool about not being a 5'10" DILF and sth a lot more...*ganyu* shaped. (Hes like "do we got the strap?" And jean, sighing, replies "we dooo....")

Hes been thru a lot of...experiences in his time, and inhabiting a different body doesnt bother him. Hes just happy to have an outlet to talk to people and just relax. He can be a lil moody at times, but his mental state is a LOT more stable than most.

(This is absolutely an invitation to talk to him about things. He's LITERALLY the least intimidating guy i promise.)

And the best part, out of all of this, is if you go up to the control panel of my headspace, and slowly turn the swivel chair around to face you.....

All u see is this little shit of a creechur staring back at you.

This thing runs the entire fucking body. It has eviscerated sigmund freuds concept of the id, ego, and superego. You cannot win.

ok INDIVIDUALLY. foxhound era since thats our favorite :)

null is wary of pretty much everyone. if anyones the type to self isolate, its him. that being said, hes most attentive when it comes to matters of either work or matters of big boss. null is bibos little guard dog (affectionate) SO hes more suspicious of david than he is caring of him. especially since he Does Not vibe with miller or ocelot AT ALL. david getting special attention only makes him more of a concern.

frank... honestly doesnt know him, really! very VERY rarely does he so much as show up in headspace while theyre at foxhound. it just isnt his business and he stays away from it. what DOES get him out while hes there is getting letters from naomi :) thats his sister :) naomi :) but even then, he knows better than to do just about anything while hes around. hiding them away until he dissociates back out. otherwise, he'll only sorta be present in headspace at most via positive triggers.

fox :) dave thats his little guy. its funny not knowing whats wrong with you and only getting a name for yourself way later but yes he steals the name gray fox away from the rest for himself. he mainly exists in spaces where a certain level of camaraderie is necessary while out on business, but he doesnt usually do the work himself (hi null!) that being said, he IS the king of pretending to be human for the sake of establishing (superficial) relationships w his peers. he just has a very distinct personality of Faking Everything because if he thinks too much about his purpose as an entity he'll start itching for pain. which, ha, is a pretty big trigger aside from established environment. specifically self-requested/initiated harm. ironically grounding Specifically for him. but yes :) dave he likes that guy thats his little guy who doesnt mind when fox acts weird and does what hes told and is cute while doing it and (no this isnt love, i dont even know what that is!)

and as a special treat, mr ninja... ah ninja, you elude me still, but i can say insofar as that involuntary pain/harm is one of his bigger triggers, pulled off of null when he split, actually! he knows david as a Name, more than anything. a concept which establishes [an end]. he isnt nearly a masochist (i can literally tell you whos fronting where in mgs1 cutscenes somethings wrong with me), but rather just an entity who exists in a weird bubble of ignorance and simplicity (also pulled off null. post mg2 null is, how do i say, Different from pre mg2 null). very (tell me what to do and ill do it), holding onto the idea of (needing to die) and (snake killed us. he can do it again).

ok so. the thing is for the mmain fic? i dont know how he will. fit in. like i have timeloop related ideas which i. need to do eventually. but generally speaking i dont know how to give him a good ending or even how he’ll effect the plot. but also i dont want to ignore him because he is very vital to the plot. honestly i might do a flowey for this in that he interacts sparsely, more to the end of the game. thanks toby fox

BUT ANYWAYS to me ganon really isnt. a twist per say? like with link im making his death be different and the reader is going to have to find out what happened (or immediately Know based on the tags and such and instead of finding out their horror??? only grows i hope because they basically have to watch a guy who they know something bad will happen to. like siffrin in stars and time when you’ve played sasasa). but for ganon his deal is basically almost canon except im highlighting how fucked up it is i guess. we already know hes under the castle, but the devs never expand his motives. so im trying to do that

so. spoilers?? i guess??? also its pure stream of consciousness be warned

ok so firstly totks whole Pre Hyrule thing doesnt exist here. im not doing that. the zonai are non-gods who literally just sailed into the country and happen to know magic. they also dont make the same type of ruins associated with the zonai in totk. their ruins match up much more with the ruins in faron and the animal-esque designs. also theyre extremely vague and none of them become the king. i can draw you some zonais if youd like but the whole zonai thing in totk makes zero sense especially with botw and theres actual contradictory information in this essay i w

because of this rauru and sonia Might exist, but they will be Extremely Different. im not making rauru a zonai if he does exist too, though mineru still might be one just. heavily redesigned. so theres no power struggle to lead to ganondorfs imprisonment- something else is the cause of that.

as to what? i have no idea yet </3. itd probably be similar to the exile of the shekiah when the helped with the calamity, ganon being seen as a threat and something to be exterminated. ganon may not have helped or interacted with the monarchy, but it didnt change what the king and queen viewed of him. though i dont think any prior games or legends “influenced” this- as in they didnt follow any prophecy or something, but they basically ingrained the roles of the past into being completely static if that makes sense. zelda is always the pretty princess with wisdom and powers of the goddess (and hylian), link is always the hero always with the master sword and courage (also always hylian), and ganon? always the oppressor. always the king of evil, king of the gerudo. always a threat. in the same ways these roles hurt zelda and link pre cal, these roles ESPECIALLY hurt ganon, just this time more directly. its almost like how certain laws target marginalized groups and by proxy accidentally hurt literally everyone else. but he was just a “threat to hylia” in some way or form, either due to something or just by existing. or both. but an incident probably lead to his imprisonment. all things considered i should. really work on this..? though thats complicated because if the shekiah just noticed the pattern of the calamity then people would have to deal with two separate events rather than just one, which could work but the “inciting incident” of the 10000 year calamity being beaten is almost null and passed on to another. at that point i might as well do what ive seen other fanfics do before totk came out and wrote about the zonai- grouping them together in the same time period and make the sealing of ganon himself as the person the 10000 year sealing of the calamity. however that wouldnt make sense with the tapestry…unless the tapestry isnt accurate to what happened which Is possible but still why go through all the effort to lie about becoming his calamity form? showing him as not human would fit with how they view him but still they couldve made him look like a monster- like a lynel or his pig forms, not a boar like cloud. so. i almost want to ignore his backstory entirely and only focus on him being well. trapped. i just dont know if this is the right move to make, as much as being trapped under the castle Is a backstory its not really a fleshed out one or one that shows his past connections or who he was as a person. though that does kind of fit with what he is now. uhm so yeah i have no idea im sorry

but to his. not-really-a-backstory backstory. like in totk, hes under the castle. everybody has forgotten this, the rulers being warned about.. Something under the castle, and to not speak of it like zelda says in the intro to totk. theres a locked gate, maybe with some stolen shekiah tech (used by the king/someone when the shekiah were exiled and hunted, getting scrap parts before they were buried) to secure it. or maybe they just like about it being protected by the goddess so no one can open it and because its such an easy lie to check everybody believes it. though i genuinely think its locked extremely well, either with past magic, the triforce when a past zelda or queen had it and sealing ganon was sealing the gate as well, sheikah tech, or something else. i say that because at some point youd think the yiga would literally just walk in if it was a lie. the shekiah tech is a bit dicey because the yiga probably know way more about it than the shekiah (except for purah and robbie), however. i was going to argue they might not actually know that much about the tech which while it would depend on yiga to yiga i feel on some level they could absolutely break into it. (i used to think it was a parallel to botws general amnesia, forgetting their goal of originally helping hyrule, but after reading gboh the possibility of them changing it over time actively is probably a lot better, especially with it adding agency and also them being Rightfully Angry at the monarchy and eliminating those who stand as its biggest supporters? or pawns. and rereading the wiki page for them i cant remember how i thought they “forgot” their goal. ok sorry!! honestly i like to think some sheikah and yiga before being truly separate still made tech in secret, either to prevent something in the future or to help themselves (the sheikah being ok in the rain because of the tech in their outfits.) kind of like a third group that eventually faded out due to amnesia or became a yiga and Remembered. ok anyways) but yeah. on one hand Itd Fit and be such a slap in the face to the sheikah in general, but also the yiga should and probably would know how to break it down. that is if they even know the door exists, and the only reason they dont break into it is because they dont know It Exists because it wasnt built by them and ganon isnt able to communicate with them, or at least communicate with them well. in that scenario they could and Would be able to break down those protections which would actually make sense.

ALRIGHT. under the castle isnt the same as totks under the castle, and while it might…??? be the same one in the Trailer, that would require the zonai which, while they have their own mysterious plotline here (they magiced so hard they ended up in the sky), and theyre absolutely Important, i dont know how important they were in ganons sealing specifically. i like the zonai having some secret involvement of it and i also like having more zonai ruins, but i dont think the royal family would tolerate them At All because theyd also be a threat like the sheikah. they built literal labyrinths and actually know about the triforce more explicitly (the sheikah also seem to, or the ancient sheikah). them casting themselves off into the sky makes sense because who else could do that, But Yeah. theyd have their own documented versions of what they did, and i like to think they were fairly involved in hyrule as a whole. anyways sorry i just need to come up with how he was sealed and how it makes sense. god i used to have hopes and dreams about totk. we couldve gotten a new major god. and yet,

OK ONTO THE ACTUAL. PERSON IN THIS. GANON IM SO SORRY. yeah lets just say hes only Mildly Pissed about being under the castle for 10000 years (<- any words i could use now can not describe the sheer anger and hatred he has. like. its like genuinely wanting to kill someone if that makes sense. besides that being half the literal case, its . ok so you know how in totk the hands let out a shrill scream when they spot you, rushing over to kill you and choke you without thinking? its like that. wanting to make others feel the pain he felt for years and years, with an added touch of genuine hate and wanting to Hurt Someone or see them get hurt). hes being forgotten by everyone- his people the hylians, the shekiah, either people who he used to love or people who actively helped and encouraged his imprisonment, it doesnt matter when they all forget and dont even seem to care. its like he never mattered in the first place, what happened to him just something inconsequential and might as well not exist at all. He might as well not exist at all. but hes awake, rotting and tearing apart down at the bottom of that chamber always awake and always there. he cant move on yet, he needs to get out he needs to get out he has to get out

so!! his main focus is escape!! anyone who dies either had to or isnt something he thinks about. something something a means to an end, if people die so be it. plus if hes going down hea bringing hyrule with him, clawing onto it. he isnt mindless, guardians trying to ravish important locations like the temple of time and the akkala citadel, tactical locations. the malice is more of a by product of the original 100 year calamity, but it serves to help ganon keep and Eye out haha but also block and cover things. i like to think theres malice in guardians and thats why the master sword reacts to them. anyways, in botw he has a butterfly esque cacoon, and a spider like body made of sheikah tech. he was probably building a New Body as his means of escaping. why he made it like that? no idea. he definitely wouldnt live a quiet life once he was out and i think its an accidental by product of wanting to kill people/punish them in a sense. maybe he was going to have two bodies, like mettaton EX where the box body would be in this sense ganondorfs “normal” form where his spider form would be his Kill form.

if he wanted to be king of hyrule, this would probably be why. i dont really think he would, but if he did he’d do it both to punish those who wronged him while making sure what happened to him wont happen again, making sure the hylian royal family is never in a seat of power again. but right now he wants people to pay.

this also ties into him being “a calamity”; as hes trapped under the earth, i think he’d have an effect over it as well. trying to claw his way out from under the earth, parting the dirt in which it looks as if its breathing, sand piling over making sounds described as screams (though in real life its described as singing). in a way hes a part of it, but not by choice. hes the very thing you stand on and yet hes dismissed.

but anyways. hes very mad. link would describe him as “actively wanting me dead” in the timeloop au. his blights are described as screaming in the fic and i like to think thats ganon screaming in rage, pain or both. hes also not green here i should mention that. his form down in the dungeon i like to think has ghouls protruding from it like theyre melting into one and other and are reaching out with their hands, grabbing at whatever they can. hes pretty chill but smug post imprisonment, mostly a quiet cocky. less one for dramatics and rather plays it straight. likes pink and also is a fan of the desert right under spectacle rock. in the timeloop au hes also in the timeloop with link which causes problems. speaking of theyre pretty alike, and wreath would be like him in the timeloop au if he didnt already exist like percy jackson and luke. they could be friends in theory, but their circumstances drove them apart (hey like the wind waker post). hes a big fan of water buffalos, bulls, goats, cats and dogs, and sand sparrows. sand sparrows are his favorite animal in general and almost made it a symbol of the gerudo. id like to associate him with moths thanks to queen gibdo (shes not in this au she doesnt exist here). might actually like spiders as well as other insects. kotake and koume exist here :] . i think some of the gerudo havent forgotten, and thats why the hylia statue is way less in use, though it still being there is an act from the gerudo from the present ish. he likes soft and airy clothes. a lot more regal in the presence of leaders of their respective races- like the king or queen of the zora, the king and queen of the hylians, etc. likes hearty soup but also straight voltfruit juice. doesnt like hydromelons. he and zelda would hate each other, zelda Especially and their anger at each other almost cancels each other out. zelda is Very mad at him. chronic pajama wearer, gets a gerudo clothes person to make regal clothes with the same fabric from pajama clothes. sometimes he sleeps in them but other times he doesnt. big fan of the concept of magic, and likes chuchu jelly a lot. hes more prominent in the timeloop au honestly and im sorry for that. id like to give him an actual arc but well. i dont know how i would do that…….. also i want him to have a happy ending for once but i dont know if thatd work with this story. especially because of him killing the champions. him being an omen would be fitting, but still. him being punished narratively for no reason is stupid if that makes sense. his reason for doing what he did wasnt bad, but what he did by proxy was. i dunno death doesnt feel right for him, at least yet. he was happy though, once

for mermaids, primarina fits a traditional mermaid appearance + is known for having a gorgeous voice

for beach/ocean, palossand is a haunted sandcastle and corsola is a coral :3 there are also Tons of fish/water dwelling pokemon in general

for a forest theme, i think sawsbuck (changes appearance in each season, this one is autumn), shiinotic, & leafeon could work, tho there are also plenty of pokemon who just live in forests

there are plenty of foxes!! i would list each one + their evolutions/other forms but. image limit </3 ninetales is a kitsune/9 tailed fox, zorua has illusion powers, & thievul is a thief!

theres also a few wolves, theres lycanroc who looks different based on the time of day it evolves (this one is midnight), and zacian & zamazenta who are protectors of their region (theyre sisters!)

theres a good handful of cats too! skitty, glameow, and purrloin are just a few :3

for gems, theres sableye who eats them, and carbink & diancie who Are gems! diancie is like the princess of the carbink

dragon is a type so technically theres a lot of dragons too, but noivern and druddigon have some more traditional dragony designs, and goodra is just cute :)

for bunnies! scorbunny is a soccer player, buneary is cute, and bunnelby digs with their ears!

honorary mention for victini (not pictured) whose design is partly inspired by a style of cutting apples to look like little rabbits

since fairy and dragon are both types (which is essentially an elemental power), and the fairy type is based more on fairytales than fae, here are links to a list of all the fairies and dragons for you to look thru if youd like :3

THIS ASK HAS BEEN SITTING HERE FOR A WHILE SO LIKE. FORGIVE ME BUT I THINK I FINALLY. FIGURED OUT WHAT I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT HAHA!! it's kind of long and all over the place but uh. that's what the cut is for!!

it's uh. it's au related stuff but. you know! If you guys would like, I can talk about it a bit more in a different post because there was a lot to talk about and I didn't even get to finish fr fr

okay let me just uhhh. copy paste from discord since I did talk about it there 🫶🏼

i guess i should start with :HonamiThink: the ones we DO know aka. the ones I ended up drawing :happy:

there was Kami and Kashiki :HonamiThink: who. Kami is. a trickster god of course, because they're a kitsune, which are. trickster foxes :Dancer_SuperHappy: and then there's Kashiki who's like. the human equivalent :happy: their whole thing is like. divine intervention and whatnot :HonamiThink:

Kami was also :HonamiThink: a retired general which was funny to me and they used their umbrella like a sword. they KILLED a man with that umbrella.

and then next is White Devil and Sly Angel which :prisoner_think: their whole theme is dreams and nightmares and life and death actually 😭 devil represents dreams while angel represents nightmares :HonamiThink: and their very presence can induce these like. hallucination like states.

angel being nightmares is. purposeful because angel looks like she'd bring good dreams and vibes, she's bright she's colorful shes. the "Sly Angel" so people let their guards down and often times. pay the price. angel is, well, a murderer. she hunts people down and kills them in these nightmareish scenarios. but her looks betray her and make her more dangerous.

meanwhile Devil is :HonamiThink: they're all greys and white, they're lifeless, like a doll. they're a doctor, more specifically a mortician :stressexe: they deal with death and the dead and often times their looks betray them. they look like they'd control/induce nightmares. they frighten people but underneath everything, Devil is. a good person. once people let down their guards and trust them, they flood their minds with good dreams. and when they want to, they'll protect those who give them a chance.

they're both. complicated.

and then after that is. vitas and bezerker :happy: :unseer: who, similar to everyone else in this weird byproduct of the weirdmaggedon/dd world that. i'll talk more about later on, probably tomorrow?? they share the underlying theme of life and death but they're more. directly/closely tied to the concept of the grim reaper :HonamiThink: they are. the end. the finality. they are the end of the road. once you see them, usually, it means your life is. coming to an end. even gods have died by their hands :HonamiThink: :stressexe:

they're. well their concept in and of itself is the grim reaper, the end of eras in a sense but in canon to that world, they were. well they were death but. in a bounty hunter type of manner i guess???? i don't really know how to explain it :NOOOOOO: but theyre very much so. they kill on an agenda and they have their own ways of doing things. While Bezerker is. closely related to the concept of the grim reaper, Vitas is more closely related to. the ferrysman :HonamiThink: usually taking the souls bezerker killed and. helping them pass on. or. in some cases. ship them down to hell or whatever /lh

they are aware of each other's presence and job, yes. however Vitas is aware that Bezerker isn't. completely. death itself. because they have a habit of killing indiscriminately. there's something. missing within Bezerker that causes them to. well. go bezerk! and there's also the chain and ball motif that. they're being influenced by a higher/stronger power than death itself :HonamiThink: and so it's up to Vitas to. try and help where she can. because while she is closely related to the ferryman and the river and souls in general, she can also. within her own power. reverse a soul's death which is. what happened with yabel's in universe counterpart. who uh. kind of. sort of. uh. fucking died because of Bezerker.

but uh just because she's got that. power/ability doesn't mean she can. use it without consequence. because it still. Bezerker knows when she breaks orderly balance. and uh. yeah. it's not good?

there's also :HonamiThink: the fact that Bezerker can devour rebirthed souls. which makes Vitas breathing second chances even more risky because it not only takes from her own. immortal soul but. Bezerker is stronger/more powerful in dark and corrupted places :prisoner_think: they thrive on desolate and hopelessness and the pain and suffering of others. and devoured souls know no peace. because they're his to. torment for the rest of eternity.

Vitas has only turned back time for one soul before in canon of. the world :HonamiThink: and Bezerker kind of. shredded them limb from limb!! in a. gory act of violent dominance :stressexe:

and there's also the whole :NOOOOOO: thing about how. Yabel is technically one of the souls. that Bezerker can devour. and because Bezerker is Tazai in a sense and how their whole. them getting stabbed and killed and corrupted by the devil being how. Bezerker came into existence and whatnot and ahhhh :NOOOOOO: :NOOOOOO: their theme being the grim reaper and unstoppable death is. really funny because yabel's whole thing is like. rebirth and second chances :prisoner_think: the person you love most is the one who's responsible for your demise. but it's also love that. saved you. or whatever. love wins!!! /j

and then there's. dollie and rose and. yabel ig :HonamiThink:

dollie and rosemary are. opposites in ideals/themes :HonamiThink:

Dollie's whole theming is around childhood and the innocence you have as a child :happy: she's. basically. a huge plush doll to be played with and dressed up and toyed with. she lives inside a giant dollhouse with other dolls, like herself, in bright colors and big clothes and tons of accessories. however, the owner of this dollhouse is no one other than. Bezerker. :prisoner_think: :stressexe: Dollie is the manifestation of a childish joy/wonder, and is childish herself. naive. gullible. she believes her dollhouse's owner is a kind person, unaware of the death and destruction she brings. and while inside the dollhouse, things are. relatively within scale but Bezerker is. HUGE since. to him. it's just a dollhouse. and everything inside is for him to move and toy with. and Dollie is, in her own way, based on Yabel herself, although closer personality wise to the 14 year old version that Tazai first met :happy: since, this is before. Tazai had the chance to meet the real current day Yabel i guess :prisoner_think: or rather, they got to meet her, fucking lost and just murdered her instead /lh

while rose is more the. loss of that innocence. the personalification of adulthood and how much it SUCKS. /j she drinks wine, a drink only adults can have. she's decked out in a fancy wedding dress, yet that dress is stained in the blood of the abuser who didn't truly love her. she doesn't believe that good things can happen beyond a certain point in life. she, for a lack of better wording, hates that she grew up. because the world isn't the same place she thought it was. it's cold and grueling and nasty. so she drinks the pain away and. kills others before they can reach that point of. no return. she is a rose with. many hidden thorns.

and then there's yabel :NOOOOOO: or uh, as yabel appears. a rebirthed soul. similar in appearance to that one image i sent eariler she's very. almost ethereal in her own way. or heavenly. she wears all white because she is pure. her theme is rebirth, purity and second chances. :HonamiThink: she is killed unfairly in a world she doesn't belong to and is given a second chance. and she has to fight her way through this odd land, partly created by the weirdmaggedon mixed with malek's intervention/him fucking with an already messed up sub-dimension :happy:because he finally got one of those souls who has been defining him and he now wants the other one, and if he can trap them both in this dimension he controls then. that's it :prisoner_think: he wins. because all his most powerful constraints on Tazai/Bezerker are tied to the power of the Weirdmaggedon. but if the seal on the weirdmaggedon is broken, which can only be done from within the bubble (where Yabel is) then he loses control of Tazai and their soul completely :KanadeRunningBackAndForth: and he succeeds at first when Bezerker does. end Yabel's life. he would have won if Vitas didn't. grant Yabel, or as the world called her, Mist, that second chance. of course, if Bezerker caught Mist again, he could just. devour her. and they'd both be trapped by Malek for forever! which! shit. /lh

but Mist is determined to break the weirdmaggedon and free herself, but more important, to free her friend, and everyone else that demon has trapped inside. because everyone there besides. Kami and Devil iirc were other human souls. :stressexe: and mist herself does have her own. themes with death since. well. when she is given that second chance/that rebirth, she wakes up in a glass coffin lined in gold framing filled with white and gold flowers, that that :prisoner_think: with Vitas herself put together or Bezerker put together which. while the dream didn't say which one it was, i think either or is very interesting to think about 😭 and uh Mist. like :prisoner_think: canonically speaking she isn't able to cycle but. in that dream i had, she was. kind of able to? like, whenever she would die, and i would have to restart or retry, i'd come out of that same coffin 😭 and shit i died a few times, especially when Bezerker would chase me because they were. fucking FAST and they would also like. pierce their nails though my chest when they'd catch me. which really really hurt :uuu: and then they'd devour my soul or whatever and i think they also tried to drown me once.

mist is constantly going through it :NOOOOOO: that girl can not WIN when it comes to Bezerker and the other villains /lh I wish I could say that was it but like. Those were just for the people I drew :unseer: there were MORE

ANYWAY

-makes the prettiest most delicate looking pies. like they real pretty. fancy flower designs on top made out of pastry. so beautiful.

-obsession with dressing up teddy bears in funky lil outfits. they sit on a shelf in his bedroom and stare menacingly. he loves them. they all have names. he makes most of them himself but his friends give him many plushie gifts.

-wears socks and sandals sometimes

-the fucking king of bubble baths, he loves his bath supplies. mans favourite activity is just relaxing in THE most aesthetically pleasing bubble bath of all time. he has his scented candles, his soft classical music, a glass of wine or seven. bliss.

-owns foxes! the red fox is one of his state animals so i like to imagine he rescues foxes that can't be rewilded and nurses them back to health or simply takes care of them. they're all named after types of magnolia. they are his babies.

-really good at storytelling. like. REALLY good. he gets really into it and does a bunch of voices for different characters, mans has the Muppets he can totally do this, he doesn't speak up very often to tell stories but when he does? enthralled.

-pretty much a disney princess. animals love him. mans can pet wild animals. he doesn't do it often because Respect Nature but mans will pick up hurt animals to take them to a vet because he can.

-owns many fancy ducks. he has the coolest duck as his state waterfowl, mans loves a fancy lookin duck. theyre all named after plants

-speaking of plants, he's a total dork about plants. HUGE nerd. physically cannot shut up about plants. he gets very excited when he sees a plant he hasn't seen before, takes pictures and stores em in a scrapbook for plants he has. owns MANY houseplants. his garden is BEAUTIFUL. flowers and trees of many different types, he grows all his own fruit and vegetables, he loves plants. so much.

-incredible at ballet. he's been dancing for almost two centuries, he's very talented and makes it look easy. he's performed in many ballets, and the south always comes to his performances to give him flowers and compliments.

-baking is his passion. mans has a huge sweet tooth and spends a lot of his free time baking with equally as much of a baking nerd, Alabama. he makes some good fuckin desserts, he usually gives these to friends as gifts but mans keeps a few for himself. as a treat.

-despite not really being known for it, sippi can figure skate. he likes swirly twirly sports. if he can spin and look pretty? hes in.

-hopeless romantic. daydreams about kissing his crush under the stars. sadly he is bitchless.

As said on FB, I understand my choice in pet is unorthodox and that many people actively dislike snakes and have many misconceptions regarding snakes. However it is not okay to storm onto someone's post about their pet and rant about how much you want their pet banned, even if it's true that you dislike snakes. But especially so when you are blaming their pet for something that they have absolutely zero involvement in.

Nidhogg is an amazon tree boa. Corallus hortulanus. Maximum they are about 6-7 feet.

This person is upset about giant invasive snakes in Florida. For reference, anything referred to as a "giant" is 10ft or over.

None of the corallus are listed under Florida's invasive species list, published by the state's very own Fish and Wildlife. This includes amazons. This means that amazons are not considered invasive in Florida.

This person's logic is that, since Florida lists other types of boas, that means all boas are to blame.

This is a problem, because "boa" (aka boidae) is an entire family of snakes plus some, just like "dog" (aka canidae) is an entire family of canine plus some. Things described as "boa" can be more different from each other than domesticated dogs and foxes. They can't all breed together. They don't get the same sizes or fit in the same ecological niches. They don't eat the same prey or have the same attitude. Just like you can't swap a domesticated dog with a wolf or a fox or a jackal or a coyote, you can't swap boas for each other and use them interchangeably. That's just not how animals work.

But this person doesn't want to listen, because they just don't like snakes and don't know anything about snakes and don't care to learn. A snake is a snake is a snake to them. There are 37 species on Florida's list but over 3000 different snake species in the world, but all of them need to answer for those 37. So despite me explaining multiple times, you are thinking about the wrong kind of snake and this species literally has absolutely nothing to do with what you're talking about, their resolute opinion is that my snake should also be banned because those other snakes are a problem.

ok so sanaa, a fennsang- a hybrid between a banded linsang(sort of like a weasel, theyre really cool) and a fennec fox- is like the protag of this world. she was my brainrot for a year but uh i kind of maybe lost that spark

i do not like my old art style but i love my little trans man ghjdbfjejfbr . anyways i also designed Maou/Mawu, an african moon goddess, and tried my best to do research on animals associated with her, as well as the blood moon festival. ofc, i was young and probably missed so many details, so please forgive my ignorance as i know i cant do it justice

i wrote, " in central africa, at the festival of the blood moon. Taking place every 30 years it is celebrated to welcome the Moon goddess, Mawu(Maou), from her 30-year slumber. It lasts the whole night, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. food and drinks are sold at stalls for a certain amount of bugs. Some bugs are more valuable than others." the bug part is my universe thing, obviously, theyre like a type of currency for most critters- another type is kelp or mushrooms, sort of like trading- but ofc its not exactly like real-life currency. another passage on a different page is " the moon parade, also called Mawoo, is a parade/festival celebrated all throughout Central africa, mainly in nigeria, where the canines gathered together to howl to awaken her(Mawu)" obv i put like worldbuilding there but i sort of feel like it isnt,, idk. i dont think i should have based it that closely on a real-life thing idk idk heres an old drawing

anywayswhere was i,,,, uh. ok anyways moving on ig? sanaa's parents met at this festival and they were like yea we vibe together. jakob(linsang dad) and feechi(fennec mom) ((can u tell im not good at names fjejfn)) and they settled down in south africa to have a kid and raise it properly kind of thing. sanaa grows up alright, the kind of kid that like,,, wanders around her neighborhood, picking up sticks and rocks, throwing them at the ground from the top of a tree she climbed because you stopped looking at her for 2 seconds

so lne day she meets cody, because she accidentally threw a stick at him she wasnt looking. so they were like. yeah we r friends now :)

they grow up together, get an apartment and are ROOMIE BUDDIES when they turn like 20 cos its fun. insert angst insert angst and suddenly the town is in hysteria and THATS WHERE I STOPPED WRITING NOOOO :(

you mentioned how hlvrai is an interesting form of storytelling and i think thats part of why it got big- same with taz and other dnd podcasts- people like the authenticity of it. theres no big writers rooms working to make it "perfect." its all very in the moment. the actors arent actors- theyre not reading off a script. everyone whose playing a part are equally a part of the storytelling process. everyone is making the script up in the moment, and things happen either to immediately make their friends laugh or make their friends go 'holy shit thats awesome' or (my personal favorite) to give their friends the opportunity to do something cool!

its an honest form of storytelling that we're kinda losing with the way media is so sanitized and washed out and forced to be marketable. like, i struggle explaining hlvrai or dnd podcasts to my friends when they ask what kind of content i watch, because theres really no comparison to it (unless they also engage with that type of content). its like people sitting around a campfire telling stories, just to pass the time and engage in creativity. and i think thats why people like them, theyre just fun and real.

i got a little rambley but overall: i think hlvrai and these types of media are popular because theyre honest

i think there's truth to this, yeah!!! :) there's a lot to be said for stories where the storytellers are present/visible, esp when they're all close-- it's like being invited into their warm, fun little friend group for a little bit, even if it's just to observe. it's a kind of antithesis to the wave of polished and soulless media that has become more and more of the stuff out there in the past ten years (spotless set design, everyone is beautiful and no one is horny, reliance on the Save the Cat method, i don't have enough links to sketch this whole thing out but yes: the number one word is marketability). these are lonely times; stories told by real people in real-time are a breath of fresh air, especially when there's the doubled wild cards of 1. wtf are my friends going to pull out of their asses next and how do i keep this balloon-story in the air oh god and 2. dice-rolling/weird g-mod stuff à la the helicopter heap, etc. it's great fun to see people up against these odds who manage to pull together a semi-cohesive story anyways :)

i don't think we're really losing this kind of story-telling, though it is becoming less visible in a marketability-lowest-common-denominator-blockbuster-content-production kind of way. but you're right that these kinds of practices trace back to telling stories around a fire, or while spinning thread or sharpening flint-- it's deep in our core as human beings. our lives are very different from those of our our ancestors 50k years ago but in the grand scheme of things, we've barely barely changed. we still want those stories. we still want to tell them, too. even as inhuman companies beyond our individual grasps manipulate things far above us, try to distract workers from too-long days at work with stripped-down marketable manipulative garbage, there will always be people making weird, niche art: friend groups who stream goofy improv together, people who write thousands upon thousands of words about their OCs even though only 3 people read it, toby fox in his basement, DnD podcasts with fewer than a fifty listeners, stick figure webcomics updating every day, pre-teens scribbling about sparklewolves in their composition notebooks and shyly sharing a little bit with the other weirdo in their class.

but yeah. especially for those of us who don't necessarily have the energy to create as much as we'd like, story-telling that has the foundations visible, that is honest about what it is and where it's coming from, that has at its core the desire to make one's friends laugh-- it's great! it's fun! it's a good antidote to the big polished crap :)

❤️ Do you keep your health at max all the time? very much so. i am a scared little guy i dont like dying so ill always keep my health as high as possible. food on the other hand. oops

Do you have a favourite dye pattern? so i was gonna say no. but then i realised that i have like six different banner designs for specific things atm. so yeah i do use them. i like making flags to represent things :D favourite dye pattern would have to b the gradients. flower charge is a close second its soso good

🎒 What items do you typically keep on your hotbar? it depends what i own at that point, but the ideal is: 1st slot - bow, 2nd slot - pickaxe, 3rd slot - axe, 4th slot - sometimes a shovel sometimes a wormhole for transportation, sometimes nothing, depends on the server, 5th + 6th slots - empty, 7th slot - stack of blocks, 8th slot - food, 9th slot - gapples, offhand - shield. theres a bunch of stuff i keep in my inventory at all times too

🐬 Do you give dolphins blocks to play with? not often enough rip </3

📦 What kind of storage system do you use? (Or describe your storage setup). lots of chests and item frames <3 people hate my storage systems bc of how i group things. it makes sense to me and only me <3 everything is soso neat all the time and ive had people think its all automated but it is not!! i hate when i run out of room tho its so annoying

⛏ Favourite building block? mmmmm this ones HARD. calcite is great. so is acacia, especially paired with dark oak. spruce is very nice. controversial opinon that amethyst sucks to build with!!! moss. moss is so good. imma go moss and calcite second. they r so nice

hi coda sorry for sending an ask abt this but i like talking its like a socratic seminar i think if someone really really resonates with your art and respects it and enjoys it they will not take your character to be a cruel person. basically if someone does have that reading the objective truth is theyre not picking up what youre putting down and while its good to tune into these things in the sense that you can adjust accordingly i think more often than not if a character gets misinterpreted its not a result of poor writing/communication but rather a lack of experience or resonance with the person viewing them. which the author has basically no control over. the best you can do is be earnest and place beacons and people who get it will see it and people who dont wont. its a scary reflection of how real life functions but i think that makes it a little more special doesnt it . anyway i keep thinking abt flowey and chara

hello clyde its ok hi : ) yea its true that there will always be someone who doesnt really connect with what you're trying to say... i really wish i had the confidence to be like , Ok what i'm trying to say isn't even really the point here though. my biggest wish is to be confident enough in what i'm making to let my own intentions coexist separate from how they're recieved, and allow the discrepancy to exist and find beauty in that... but that's a hard thing, because you obviously want them to be as close to eachother as you can possibly get them...but like you said, so much of that relies on the life that the person who is recieving the art has lived and the way they choose to interface with the thing...its hard to accept that it's mostly out of your control. the artist realyl honeslty does so little of the legwork in the relationship i think.... i said this earlier but i try to have an attitude of like, no matter how they take it, if this can mean something to somebody then that's all i could ever ask for, if the emotional weight it has to me lands with someone else, that's all i could ask for, even if its a completley different kind of emotional weight. even if 5 other people look at it and it doesnt land, if it lands even once, then you won.

i think about flowey and chara a lot too toby fox reads as an example of a kind of person who is really confident about this type of thing....For a guy who has made a game so widely played that its inevitably going to be one of the most misinterpreted things in the world just by nature of how many people are trying to interpret it , he seems pretty at peace with that...that kind of earnesty and acceptance is where i'd like to get. thank sfor the socratic seminar ask hope youre well today

recent discussions of zionism have been making me think a lot about the way your worldview is influenced by the information youre given. like, obvious. but i think it would be fair to say that most people who hold heinous views do because they think it's a moral necessity. like, the average white racist is participating in a hundreds-of-years self-sustaining dialogue of heavily doctored or completely falsified knowledge out of which beliefs about a lack of humanity or a fundamental danger of other races is a rational and morally important belief. the average sexual conservative does believe gender deviancy and sexual freedom pose a danger to their children. theyre told this and given believable examples. i think the majority genuinely do believe this and aren't just using it as an excuse when challenged. likewise the average liberal zionist isn't just mindlessly bloodthirsty, there's a narrative of both facts and doctored information that informs their understanding of events, and within that narrative they're behaving completely rationally. the problem with trying to bridge the gap between less-true narratives and more-true narratives is that a major challenge to a person's fundamental worldview is invariably going to be rejected especially concerning one's own safety or the safety of the vulnerable. if you were trying to argue with someone and said, like, "joe biden literally was never president of the united states." "the sky was red last week." it would be completely reasonable for them to be like, wow you're a nut who is so divorced from reality theres no point in ever talking to you. or i guess a more equivalent statement would be, like, "actually people love to be raped." like, that's the exact same level of real & rational.

& as far as i can see the cure to this is materialism, right? for anyone whose beliefs are based in any kind of internal logic the bridge is naturally to prove the value of whether things have been proven to be true, by who, how reliably. i think most people have an approximate instinct to this effect, tempered by an understanding of systemic bias, and thats why people will categorically believe something said on fox news but not by a dancing young adult on tiktok, or vice versa. people need to understand the relationship between provable facts and things that happen, and how to keep confidence scores on different narratives and what biases might inform different narratives. all of those were things i "was taught" in school, but being told to trust the facts from conservative or liberal authorities who are evidently also selective in their narratives comes across more as gaslighting than the natural pursuit of truth; i feel confident saying this is probably true for anyone with any kind of view whatsoever,0 which is the main reason i don't feel at all confident in the idea of like "reeducation camp" type politic. i think in terms of highly selective narratives trying to split the difference between trusted authorities (trusted to fundamentally understand the same truths as you) and someone who is able & interested in introducing a radically new narrative would be really fucking difficult and necessarily really individualized, so barring that i don't really think it's a possible pursuit using institutional power. i think organic & large scale interest in a nuanced & true narrative, an interest in & education on how to convince other people to come to nuanced conclusions, and a system in which the rational thing is to be kind, is the only realistic way to make people in aggregate want to stop holding shitty views. like, you can make it more costly to be shitty, and that way it doesnt matter what they actually want, and historically that has worked. but also like, past a pretty modest threshold, just makes people even more resistant to changing their minds.

anyway i feel like any discussion about, like, "what to do with all the racists and misogynists and rapists after the revolution" or "whether someone being racist is bad or fine if its only when theyre in psychosis" or whatever that comes to any conclusion other than this either just sucks or is kicking the can down the road
