Hi! Have you seen that nct jaehyun, dooyoung and jungwoo made a sub-unit? Their song is called perfume and it is just SO FUN! The song itself reminds me of some of the old suju songs because the beat is so fun and makes you wanna dance, but the choreography is also ridiculously fun! You should check it out) I was reading your posts about the lack of fun in kpop, and this was honestly very refreshing to see. The mini-album is also quite good, and they even did a live-band cover of their songs. As always, nct guys are incredibly talented musically, good job

hello! i just wanted to say following you for memes and silly goofy haha stuff ive come to realize how insanely talented you are at game design and rpgmaker and just wanted to let you know youve been a huge inspiration to me!! Speaking of rpgmaker, would you perhaps have any words of advice to people wanting to make games in that engine for the first time? ty!!

I keep forgetting to answer this but this is so sweet ;_; thank you so much for the kind words!!! It always makes me really happy when someone follows me for either Joke posts or Art/gamedev stuff and then realizes i do the other half too, and ends up liking that stuff as well. Its super fun

And Im not sure if youll see this but i'll offer my thoughts on RPGmaker too. Ill be repeating a lot of stuff ive said on da blog before but hopefully its still helpful and is more specific to this particular question

So as for RPGmaker, regardless of the version you use -- I use MV, but research and figure out whats best for you -- Id honestly just recommend screwing around in the engine. Start off making junk test projects where you just have fun testing different features. RPGMaker is pretty unique in that its a very "exploratory" engine to learn, theres a lot of tools there for you by default that you dont need coding knowledge to understand, and its really fun to familiarize yourself with them. So its easy and fun to spend a bunch of time making a bunch of horseshit that you dont plan on putting in an actual game as a way of learning

These are the tutorials i watched to figure out rpgmaker MV, very simple and fun. Id recommend just going thru something like these and making doo doo projects to see how it works. Like for example I relearned the engine by making shit like this using default assets. its way too fun.

Once youre essentially familiar with how the engine works and youre like "hey why cant i do this extremely basic thing in the engine already" id suggest searching for plugins! Theyre scripts other people have made that expand what you can do in the engine. Here are all of the ones i use for my game.

I say thsi a lot but i think the most important thing as an RPGmaker developer, particularly one not super versed in coding, is planning your games around what the engine does best and what plugins you know are available. RPGmaker is very good at making what it expects you to wanna make. Its very bad at doing anything else. So if youre like "im gonna make this cool minigame" or "Im gonna make this crazy looking UI" and plan your game around the idea youll achieve those things its gonna be very very difficult for you to do that unless you get a programmer on board. And itll probably be kind of a pain for the programmer as well. Research how feasible it is to get a particular function in the game before you become married to that idea

Also as i always say, i really recommend starting with a tiny project! like take your conception of what a "small project" is and imagine it so much smaller that it seems ridiculously tiny and simple. And youll find that that alone takes way more work than you anticipated. But dont let any of this dissuade you too much, the most important thing is doing *anything* in the engine (and having fun with it). Its great to finish projects but if you end up not finishing one then its ok, you still learned a bunch from doing that

There´s so much charm to an oblivious reader when all of these crazy yanderes are swarming around them and trying to win their heart. Shu especially spent a lot of time and effort to make them absolutely perfect so hearing your praise makes him very proud. He will get a bit fussy though, telling you not to touch the outfits because you might damage them by accident. It´s not all that unreasonable of a concern seeing as you´re obviously very excited about this entire thing.

Meanwhile, Mika is staying to the side, trying to discreetly hide the little shrine he had dedicated to you and put it on full display, not anticipating that you would drop by so soon. He doesn´t think he´s worthy of your love yet so you can´t see what he´s done, it might ruin his chances with you! sweet venom: i liked the mannequin challenge lowkey LOL it was rlly cool but what i didn't like was how only one set was used and the SAME mannequin sequence was reused, just replacing members. it seems that belift rushed this filming bc it isn't nowhere near the effort they've put into their other mvs. also, HYBE WHY ARE U ALLERGIC TO BRIDGES??? WHY IS SWEET VENOM LESS THAN 2 AND A HALF MINUTES?? like just imagine a bridge where it slows down a little and picks back up with a lil dance break... (i should be a producer me thinks) moving on to the positives, their vocals sound so good!! jay opening the song did it for me and tbh i rlly do like it. it contrasts bite me which was their goal and the "sweet hee hee" is going to catch on fast. plus, i'm one for upbeat, fun songs and im really happy that jay got to contribute to the writing!! i just wish it was longer /: plus u can see the michael jackson influence in this cb which i can appreciate

mortal: i love her so much. there's like A LOT of monolouging but the melody is really pretty and their vocals sound amazing. it makes me feel like im frolicking in a field fr. i love jake's closing lines bc it rlly sets up the storyline of the album.

still monster: don't come for me i know she's already a fan favorite but i'll have to listen to it a few more times. ITS GOOD THOUGH. jungwon's voice in the pre-chorus LIKE CMON. i think it matches the vibe of sweet venom, just a slower ver of it if ykwim. i think the performance will solidify everything for me and reporters said the choreo was rlly good.

sweet venom (eng ver.): same notes as written before but it sounds good in english!! not awkward at all and i can see myself listening to both versions.

overall, the members emphasized the storyline they were trying to create and that it was a continuation from bite me. i think with watching the trailers and knowing both storylines it makes you appreciate the message they were trying to send. the songs fit well together as a mini album and i can see why the members love this comeback so much. i just wish belift/hybe took a little more time crafting the title track and put more effort into the mv but what can we expect from that company... im extremely proud of the boys bc theyve been working nonstop for so long and it makes me happy that they also love the songs bc i want them to release music theyre proud of.

hmm, if you like rock, i recommend xdinary heroes’ test me and strawberry cake, as well as all their other songs. hello, world! is their best release by far. day6 makes really good music, but as a general rule i always recommend sweet chaos and shoot me. stray kids is my favorite boy group of all time! they have some good songs reminiscent of rock like yayaya, my pace, awaken, district 9, time out, hello stranger, and can’t stop (although that one is more cute and fun). enhypen has songs like drunk-dazed, attention please, blockbuster, and one in a billion. other general rock-like recs are no celestial by le sserafim, tomboy by gidle, and dear sputnik by txt. sorry if that was a lot ^^; i hope u have fun listening! i added links but i guess you can’t send links via anon :( sorry abt that.

they play lasertag. this post brought to you by a guy who cries when the lasertag isnt team version. anyway i will now attempt to type out the four paragraphs i had last time that safari absolutely sniped.

lots of headcanon ahead!

lasertag was one of the first shuffle units i came up with. like. its just so fun. the aesthetics are cool the game is cool what more could you want. i think for this they split into two teams so its red team (nagisa and chiaki) vs yellow team (sora, makoto, tori) (i would make it green team but this is NOT a christmas one). which also happens to be seniors vs juniors.

alright. i know theyre all idols and have decent physical abilities. but makoto is a noodle armed gamer boy. to me. he has good reflexes but hes not very good at aiming and his arms get tired. he's probably pretty good at the strategy part though

sora is a gamer but hes also just a little guy that runs around everywhere. he spins at every available opportunity in mvs. he probably does backflips for fun in the middle of conversations. half the time when he shoots someone he's hanging upside down from the equipment by his knees, despite multiple times being told not to climb on the arena structures. hahihuheho echoes eerily through the arena. he wins by a lot. sora would be the gacha 5 star

tori is so funny in this. hes just a little kid. he has never played video games in his life. he thinks lasertag is a game for plebeians. he complains about the team uniform clashing with his hair (it doesnt). it takes him five minutes to figure out how the lasergun works and then his confidence skyrockets. hes alright at it but hes So confident he won. (sora got like 3x as many points. tori came in fourth)

chiaki is good at the physical aspect of the game, obviously. but. well i love him but hes too loud and too much of a good sport. he keeps letting the kids shoot him and laughing way too loud and immediately getting taken out. he comes in last but he has fun the whole time and thats what counts <3

nagisa. no one expects nagisa. hes the event 5 star. hes surprisingly good at laser tag. no one saw this coming. hes analytical and quiet and smart about it, with just the right amount of dramatic flair. he comes in second and tori nearly screams. hes probably never played lasertag before. he makes a comment about the lasertag vest being uncomfortable and thats how this team finds out about nagisa being afab pre-op nonbinary. just for that this is probably the like. 3rd queerest shuffle unit on this list (number one will shock you!! not clickbait)

anyway theres definitely a bit in the story where tori scrapes his knee and chiaki patches him up and gives him a pep talk. and then tori attempts to kick everyones ass at lasertag.

tip 1: member guide videos

Fans make these member guide/get to know/unhelpful guide to videos and theyre usually pretty fun and help you get familiar with the group. I've watched these mainly for shinee lol but I found a few to try:

The first one is shorter but they both look like they do the same thing

tip 2: check out something like their This Is spotify playlist and just give it a listen! let songs come to you and find your favourites! It can totes be overwhelming to learn a whole discography so I'd recommend finding a few favourites. Probably their title tracks, MVs, and newer songs will be performed at the concert.

tip 3: rather than trying to learn all the members etc find a bias or two and look for their parts in songs etc. If you find a few songs you like look up colour coded lyrics videos to see who sings ur fav part etc and cross reference with member videos.

I have bought tickets to groups and literally not known a single member 😂 or just known a song or two (I'm thinking a.c.e but I think I crash coursed learning members for btob too. I just saw car, the garden & was literally listening to their music on the way there and only knew like 2 songs lol) I usually went into it not knowing everything but was able to connect to certain parts. Even if I didn't know songs or members the shows were always good and I imagine twice have pretty cool stages!!

tl;dr? Look up title tracks and MV songs to start

I JUST THINK THATS AWESOME LIKE YOU CAN CHANGE IT WHENEVER AND YOU CAN MAKE ANYONE YOU LIKE SING, in my case I always put mika in the center heheheh my silly little scrunkly!!

theres also this thing abt the surprising thanks!! mv (7th/recent anniv mv) that theyll give the main three in your mv (center and the ones beside them) a special outfit change! there are 4 options that you can pick before the mv, the first being random (among the ones thats gonna be mentioned) and the others being cherry (the outfit stays the same), 777 (changes to the one like in the official/yt mv, super awesome and sparkly) and jackpot! in jackpot i assumed theyre gonna choose a random one, so its basically a gamble.

And it's even possible to get them to wear outfits you don't even have? That's so cool!!

Imagine if this wasn't actually in the game originally and the characters just put that feature into the game themselves in hopes of impressing you with all the outfits they have to offer. You may not have pulled for their cards but that's okay, they'll just have to show you what you've been missing out on and maybe then you'll reconsider and give them some more attention!

At the same time, maybe the idols try to mess with the wardrobe of the ones you seem to prefer and only give them the really basic outfits you'll find boring. Don't they shine way brighter compared to them?

So direct your gaze their way and forget about those idols that couldn't even be bothered to dress up properly for you!

It's so cool you learned how to knit I started and it's so hard, I don't have a favorite thing to crochet (yet at least) I started recently and have mostly been doing gifts so scarves and stuff for my family members, I crocheted some decorations for my uncle's house (a single snowflake garland for one of his interior doorways and a very small stocking for his fireplace that's never actually used and literally has carpet in it because the people who lived here before him have nightmare ideas about where carpet should go) so he'd have something up and the snowflakes were really fun to do :)

sora is just a silly little guy i think he go "^-^ hahihuheho" (thats how his laugh is) in chat and fuuta would be like okay. a child. and then sora absolutely destroys him at whatever game theyre playing idk it would have to be one with a coop mode. i think fuuta leans towards rpgs though judging from the bring it on mv. while fuuta goes for the traditional knight/fighter character i think sora would be the type of player to have a character that looks cute and small and then is actually super overpowered. hes just doing his best but i think fuuta would rage quit after sora oneshots all the enemies because he cant stand it when other people are better than him

natsume is funny because we know natsume canonically ragequits when he plays video games with tsumugi because tsumugi is So Awful at them. in online coop hes probably more normal about it but would like... just Watch his teammates for a minute to decide if their fighting style is Good enough. fuuta's like "dude wtf are u doing" meanwhile natsume is Judging. theyre both red but that doesnt really matter. they could probably be good teammates because fuuta picks the brute force knight with occasional magic weapons (actually i think most of the offensive power in his mvs comes from the magical weapons and not him which is a fascinating nod to how he's actually just some loser and all his online power comes from like a persona/his followers but thats for another post maybe) and natsume would be the magic user type of character. im talking like exclusively catalyst main in genshin just because someone said he couldnt. but the magic dps and physical dps would work well together

jun is probably the most similar in playstyle to fuuta i would guess but hes way more chill about it. hes kind of the casual type here to have fun. would listen to fuuta talk about meta in chat and then go "ok then why arent you using these strategies" and fuuta sets him on fire in game

makoto is also a good gamer but he definitely leans into the teamwork aspect. like, always does coop in games not because he needs the help but because its fun and he likes it. would probably listen patiently to fuuta explaining meta stuff and go "ok cool!!" despite already knowing all of it

ok tangent time but if its a matter of fuuta not recognizing them because he only likes a few specific groups... alright. i think crazy:b would be fuutas favorite unit in ensemble square. theyve got fun and loud music and fuuta would totally lean into the whole "fuck society" bit. i also think he would like undead just for their style because his songs so far seem to be more...rock? not sure. you know what theyre like. he would probably like switch's aesthetic (the unit natsume and sora and tsumugi are in actually) but i think he would find it too happy/cutesy/everyone gets along or some such nonsense for him. he might like knights but i think the rest of the fans should gatekeep knights from him he doesnt deserve them
