💀 He approaches you curiously with chirps coming from his throat, poking at your tummy and picking up tiny strands of hair, just...looking at you..

💀 Then you let out a little giggle, huh???what???

💀 What noise are you making? Are you calling your horde?? Are there more of you?!?!

💀 So he ties a cord around you and brings you to the rest of the horde, keeping you at a distance as you run around, pulling at the leash.

💀 He calls the others and Ribs immediately sees you as food, but Bo holds him back by the collar.

💀 He doesn't know what you're doing here, but he does know youre supposed to be a baby human.

💀 Maybe lets keep you and raise you so you can grow up and be eaten! You know like cows and whatever humans did?

💀 Yeah sure, totally not gonna bite them in he ass one day.

💀 Bo is the first to take care of you, he just accompanies you while you walk around the mall.

💀 You arrive at the old arcade, most of the stuff there were broken or forgotten, there wasn't much use for arcade prizes or small candies after the apocalypse happened..

💀 He watches you run up to an old claw machine, the toys inside were still as pristine as they were years ago, the glass box acting as a protective barrier from the hands of time.

💀 Your face was practically on the glass as you stare at the fluffy toys longingly

💀 Bo watches as you almost whimper at the sight of them

💀 *sighhhh* well, wouldn't hurt to give you what you want right?

💀 You two leave the arcade with a bag full of fluffy new friends and a broken claw machine

💀 Next was Soda, he just tied you to a cord and just let you do whatever

💀 He kinda just ignored you until he hears you fall over and start crying

💀 Both him and Ribs looked after you together, it was more of Ribs watching you and Screw watching Ribs to make sure he doesn't eat you.

💀 The whole thing went to the 3 of you chasing a mutant animal around the mall together, giggling and playing the whole day

💀 They taught you how to be feral, Ribs is a bad influence..

💀 The horde gradually starts teaching you things like hunting or picking up scents

💀 Thinking about it now, they'd never imagine ever hurting you or making you cry

💀 During cold nights they all huddle together with you in the middle, keeping you safe from anything that would hurt you..

💀 Looks like they wont be raising you for meat any time soon..

THANK YOUUUUU thats so nice of you 🥺

drawing silver was a lot of trial and error for me ill be honest, im still kind of figuring out how to do it. HOWEVER i do have tips : ) it will be under the cut because im allergic to being concise.

1.most important. dont skimp on the fluff. i know his 06 model looks a bit like he glued on yarn to his neck but its important that he is fluffy. to me

2. and more seriously, the toughest part to figure out is is stupid fan weed forehead quills. theyre stupid, they block half his head, theyre a defining characteristic and they make drawing his eyes a nightmare. for most other characters you can draw the eyes easy, but the way silvers quills work make fitting them and the eyes together really weird.

anyways my though process drawing them is. try not to think about them as separate things. its easy to think of it like being the eyes and then somewhere above there are the quills, but its eaier to get them to fit together if you imagine the eyes are following the shape of his quills

they intersect. so the shape of the eye is influenced by the way his quills lay, but you can also use his eyes as guidelines for the quills too. they start where his eyeline ends, and they follow the shape of his brow on the top as well. you can start from the brow or the corner of his eyes, either way works, just pick the one that makes dinding the position and size easiest

from there you care use his eyebrow quills to reference the rest of them. i usually jump to the middle on next and use its position to judge where the last ones lay, cause those ones are kinda awkward

then of course you can add his little ears in. you dont HAVE to if the angle is awkward. his ears are itty bitty and easily hidden

all his quills slope back a bit, so they have a cute bend to them.

3. uhhh those 2 big fucking quills on the back of his head. they are weird to position because they are SO. LONG. luckily theres only 2 of them. theyre spaced out pretty evenly from each other, and there is a gap in between them. we've all seen his bald spot

anyways the quills have a gradual curve downward and outward. you can see it pretty well in that first picture, with all the silvers lined up. you can see it pretty well on the silver figure. from the front you can see them falling to either side of him

his quills kinda look like a starburst from the front : )

anyways i think thats the best advice i can give. dont ask me about drawing his cuffs or boots. they scare me

i am also figuring it out still but hopefully this helps a little : ) this also by no means a rule book, ive seen people draw him a million different ways and they all look awesome so experiment with this. have fun drawing him!!!

rain rain rain rain how do you draw iterators and slugcats btw like all your gyus are so shaped its so fun to look at theyre just little guys...

i'm gonna start with slugcats! my old guide from 2023 is here.

Note: "slugcat" refers to multiple species (slugcats are in a species complex). It can be hard to differentiate slugcat species, since some are very similar and hybridization between them is common where their ranges overlap. The species that Monk and Survivor are members of is called the "common slugcat."

Slugcats are weird sorta-feline creatures that walk bipedally and have little hands. Their average height is 3'3" or about 1 meter tall.

Their basic body shape is a round head on top of a trapezoidal body. Their legs are digitigrade, they have human-like arms (that are often skinny lol), and their tails are thick and tapering. Slugcats also have retractable arms ig??? I have no idea how that would work

In terms of head shape, it's similar to a cat's, but with a somewhat taller forehead (bigger brain! more room for being Smart!). Slugcats usually have short muzzles, big eyes, and long ears.

Note: slugcat arms usually rest in front of the body (think meerkats) rather than to the sides like a human.

Uhhh I like giving slugcats dewlaps (rabbit dewlaps are a good reference)!

And for fat slugcats, fat is usually stored in the tail (and dewlap) first. So naturally my gourmand has a big tail and a big dewlap :]

And!! I like to think that some slugcats have fur, and some don't. Hairless slugcats are slimy; furred slugcats have oily, waterproof coats. Some shorthaired slugcats have smooth fur like otters and seals do.

TEEFS!!! Except technically, slugcats don't have teeth. Rather, they have sharp, jagged beaks (think cephalopods). Their beaks continually grow and they are self-sharpening. Because their beaks are really sharp, slugcat bites are always serious injuries.

The length of their "fangs" varies by species. Some carnivorous species have long fangs, for example.

And! They have bristly tongues like cats (and kinda like the radula of a gastropod).

For their paws, slugcats have 3-fingered hands and feet. Their claws vary; some individuals have blunt claws, some have sharp claws, others have retractable claws, etc.

The inner toe of a slugcat's foot is opposable, making it easy for them to grab onto poles with their feet. (Compare to scavengers, who mostly use their arms to climb.)

SLUPPIES!!!!!! (don't worry about the fluffy one, they're just eepy)

Slugpups have different proportions than adults! Including having a bigger head, chubbier body, etc. Fluffy slugpups can also be a bit scraggly like longhaired kittens are.

My slugcats are basically egg-laying marsupials. They lay eggs, store them in their pouch, and then the eggs hatch into itty bitty babies. The babies stay in the pouch, feeding on milk until they're big enough to venture outside.

When pups are too big for the pouch, they ride on their parent's head or back. They also begin the process of weaning around this time, since by then they've started growing a sharp beak (i guess before that, their beak is dull and too small to self-sharpen?).

Note: some slugcat species are unisex and others are trioecious (having male, female, and hermaphrodite individuals).

For expressions, ears are important!!

Neutral: ears relaxed. The relaxed position varies by individual; some slugcats have their ears rest slightly tilted back, for example.

Alert/interested: ears perked up.

Angry: ears pinned back. Very angry slugcats have their ears positioned so they're almost in line with the top of the head.

Afraid: ears pinned down (sometimes slightly to the sides, too).

Sad: ears droop to the sides.

Slugcats mostly use their tails for balance, but they're used for some emotes too.

Upwards-curled tail is an excited or enthusiastic hello! Kinda like how some cats raise their tail when they see their human.

When upset, annoyed, or grumpy, slugcats may thump their tail against the ground (kinda like how rabbits stomp).

Some slugcats wag their tails when playing or excited. This isn't a universal thing, though.

Slugcats with fur may puff up their tail when startled or scared. They may also puff their tail when excited or playing, too.

I cant remember how i got into the ship but theyre just really cute and sweet. i like the limited interactions between the two that we get.

theyre very cute. scarian and a lot of other ships are overly angsty and sometimes even abusive and i just like my ships being cute and fluffy. mumbo and scar dont have that much interactions with one another but the few they do are usually very silly and cute. i love that most of the stuff for redscape you can find is just pure fluff or hurt/comfort, two things i absolutely adore.

theyre just very sweet and cute and i think theyre really fun when they interact.

uhhh, figured i needed to practise my character design somehow. redesigning official characters seemed like a good start.

idk how evident it is, but i tried to put like, some vibes of other animals into the designs for the purpose of like, trying to communicate character?

like rarity's snout/face/ear is meant to evoke a siamese or ragdoll cat, as well as an alpaca. her legs are def meant to evoke an alpaca, or maybe a poodle. shes trim and prim and manicured. alpacas tie back to fashion, w their wool being used for high end woolen clothing. and a ragdoll is a very like, iconic big pretty cat which is both elegant and very fluffy. i wanted rarity to be fat and elegant. i think i achieved that. her hair is not as good as id like but its good enough. also gave rarity a G1 style cutie mark bc its a classic look and rarity can appreciate a good bit of vintage style, plus her larger body made me think of the G1 pony toys. and i just really like big cutie marks lol.

applejack i wanted to put vibes of australian outback sheep farmer into, as well as fruitbats and australian sheepdogs. i wanted her to be muscular but not thick and overt like big mac. applejack always seems like she should be wiry and lithe. shes not the strongest pony in the world, but she might be the hardest working pony. also her snout being slightly canine ties back to the timberwolves, which for whatever reason i really associate with applejack. winona too! winona is part of the inspo here. and then i put some splotches of darker fur bc i A. wanted to continue evoking a blue heeler, but B. more importantly i wanted her to be part cow. i have this mental image of Pear Butter, her mom, being half cow and being like, very round and fat and soft and pretty. hair is cut short and a bit scruffy, bc long hair seemed impractical to me. i always think about how much applejacks hair would get in the way if things were more grounded. also she has a cow lick! and her hair is less bright, more of a dirty blonde. which just felt fitting. i imagine applejack as having rough skin from all the time she spends working in the sun.

also rarijack is just, the OG, the first thing i was like 'omg those horse fillies, theyre so gay... wow...' its a classic.

i havent eaten.. yes- yes, yes, yes- i havent eaten an actual skittles pizza for uhh. probably for like 10 years. but.. i… did at one point. and… it was really good. so whats good about- what's good about skittles pizza is: you get a pizza- it could be whatever, a digiorno, it- a little, uhh, it could be a… like a… whatever other brand, it could be.. smile guy's pizza, it could be whatever. you get that, its frozen. you have to put it in the oven. okay. you get some skittles, you place them around equally- dont place em too close to each other- you put them around the pizza, spaced out, like a pepperoni… like a pepperoni! (pause] so, you place them equally, like pepperoni- imagine pepperoni, but its like- but its skittles. so- the rock. what the fuck was i saying? [pause) uhhh, skittles pizza. so you place the skittles around the pizza like-like pepperoni.. and then, you put it in the oven. you know what happens? you know what happens? you put it in the oven- the pizza's frozen. the pizza's cold. the pizza's hard. it's not a real p- you cant eat it yet. you put it in- skittles you can eat. what happens if you put a skittles in the oven? they melt. they melt. [pause] um, so you place them around, like a pepperoni, but its skittles. (pause] but yes, skittles pizza….. you place the skittles around like pepperoni- little pepperonis but theyre sweet and skittles. you put it in the oven, you pop it in the oven. (laughs) it becomes a layer on the cheese, when it melts, and the colors are beautiful. and, when you eat it, it feels, texture-wise, mouthfeel, exactly like a normal pizza, except it tastes like skittles. there you go! the cheese.. still feels like cheese, its chewy like cheese, exc- except… [pause] imagine- take cheese- the cheese off of a pizza, imagine the cheese off of a pizza- ignore the sauce, ignore the bread. and- and imagine that, remove that. remove that, imagine that by itself. p- uh, uh, cheese. cooked cheese, melted cheese. great, texture is a bit rubbery, you know what i mean. imagine that, but it tastes like skittles, and it looks beautiful. [pause] but also. also.. also… the skittle pizza? oreo… oreo: just sweet. the chocolate chip: sweet. the icing: sweet. nothing but sweet. skittles pizza? a combination.. doughy, tomato-y, cheesy, skittles. sweet! sweet- sweet, tomato, doughy.. and it counteracts. it counteracts. it- what the- "what the fuck" me, im talkin about the real shit! skittles pizza. its real…… and its good. (pause) and! …and, that's just normal skittles, if you want- lets say youre on vacation. youre on vacation, the sun is shining, you got a nice drink beside you, what better than tropical skittles to- on a pizza. it melts, and youve got a tropical treat that will also fill you up….. it melts! it melts, thats why you put it in the oven. you would- you should never ever ever just eat a skittle on a pizza, then its bad, its not good mouthfeel. its- you eat it, and its like, ok, the pizza is a bit mushy, whatever normal pizza feeling, but then you eat a skittle and its like, that weird like, crunch sort of like, gummy.. skittles.. feeling? but, when its melted on the pizza, it all becomes one, it feels cohesive, its a consistent mouthfeel, its a consistent feeling. everythings on the same level, and yet theres so many layers. (pause] but theres a way to eat pizza and add onto it without ever taking a part off of the pizza, and thats skittles pizza.

[pause] mouthfeel is how it feels, the texture in your mouth! what! mouthfeel is a real thing! i learned it from Master Chef. someone gave a dish- someone gave a dish, and the bald guy was like "bad mouthfeel.. bad mouthfeel, take it away." so- i will get on Master Chef, ill give him a skittles pizza, youll see. the floor? s- soaking wet. everyone will love it, and, also, ill win Master Chef title. i will become the new host- and! everyone will have to make ME skittles pizzas, thats the goal. REAL bad. you know whats buuullshit? pineapple on pizza. it sucks. apples and pineapples ARE different, but on a pizza, it should be- you know what? the best- the b- the best toppings on a pizza, RANKED. skittles, pepperoni… p- uh, poulette- chicken… spinach, oil. chili…. and thats it. no pineapple, and you know what makes all of those good? because, imagine the pizza. the pizza's just a pizza. bread, tomatoes, Sus, and cheese. layered. bread at the bottom, put on the tomato sauce, pepper it on, smatter it on. (slapping noises) and then you sp- you sp-s-quish it around. DONT SAY IM SUS - no! this is not about am- around us. this is.. and then you put the cheese on top, the cheese melts on top. its a great beautiful thing, and you h- youre looking at it, and you say "wow. this is such a consistent shape and look." you put a pepperoni, the pepperoni.. slides right on, looks like its a part of it. imagine, if- if, if… if you look at the pizza from all angles, and it looks like everythings flat, thats a good pizza. pineapple? too 3D. it fucks with the- with the- it fucks with the topology of the pizza. not fun to eat. not fun to eat. it becomes an obstacle course. its not pleasant. chicken? you squish the chicken. flatten it out, pepperoni style. skittles, melts into the cheese. its another layer, its like cheese 2, its sweet cheese. its skittles cheese. pineapple? bad. chunks? bad. spinach?.. spinach? spinach? flat. you put it on there, it looks like a texture on the pizza, thats how you know its good- a good topping is like a texture. its not 3D, its not taking up too much space, its not making it hard for you to eat, its not falling over the place when you bite into it- its nice, consistent feel. mouthfeel.. no sausage. no sausage. ..unless, its sliced so thin- another thing, you can hae it- you can hide it- (laughs) hide. (laughs) you can hide it! under the cheese. then i wont say anything. because it doesnt fuck with how the pizza looks…. you know what i mean? but at that point, if you start putting things UNDER the- under the cheese- isnt that just like, a calzone? whats- whats make- whats the difference? when does it stop- people need to CHILL.. about putting things in other things (laughing) and cooking them…. retain consistency! i know what i just described! but. i put the- the skittles works because it melts, and it becomes one with the cheese. the skittles melt and it becomes one with the cheese, it becomes like a fine.. it becomes like a nice.. sheet- a nice bedtime sheet- on the pizza. it becomes like a nice weighted blanket over the pizza that holds everything in place with a sweetness. and. pineapple- what does pineapple do? pineapple just sits there like a.. piece of raw chicken dropped into the sand- it looks bad, it m- it messes up with the overall uniformity of the pizza, and just is bad. so thats why you should try skittles pizza….. thank you.

based on my poll it looks like a number of you guys are interested in knowing more about my ocs so! heres a pic of morgan and skinny i hadnt posted before. these two are the easiest to get into bc theyre not part of any project or story - they just exist for me to draw. info about them under the cut!!

skinny (the one standing above) is a 23yo con artist. his real name is valentine, but hes been nicknamed skinny from his childhood - he was always really small and thin for his age - and he goes by his nickname pretty much exclusively! he grew up without a lot of money and in a pretty unstable household, so he learned pretty early to not play by the rules.. petty theft and shoplifting, fraud, scams of any sort are all fair to him. day drinker, hedonist, drama queen, thrill seeker... skinny is always looking for the next thing thatll excite him.

morgan (kneeling) is 22 years old and undead. he was revived, very much against his will, by skinnys half-sister ursula, who works at the morgue where his body was being kept. morgan was brought back to life to serve as skinnys bodyguard and co-conspirator while he scams and cons his way around. he wasnt very happy about it at all to start off with, but eventually, he mostly adapted to his strange new lease on life. he remains a pretty gloomy and taciturn person - he always was, and whatever few friendships he had he lost with the whole dying thing, so he isnt really doing so well socially.

morgan and skinny dont live anywhere specific - they go from motel to motel and crash with various acquaintances, never staying anywhere very long. their unstable lifestyle is pretty fulfilling for them, though, and they have enough money to indulge skinnys various fancies and addictions.

part of the deal reanimating morgan is that he will die again if he gets more than 10 miles away from skinny. theyre always near each other, and at the same time mostly isolated from other people, and it doesnt make their relationship to each other very healthy. they bicker or get into shouting matches regularly. however, there is a genuine care for each other in both of them that extends past the transactional nature of their relationship.

skinny loves anything pink, heart shaped or fluffy, owns WAY too much clothing for someone whos always on the move, and spends a lot of his time on the phone talking to ursula or some friends of his (who exactly they are is always vague). morgan enjoys cooking and baking and likes wrestling. hes also a fan of rock and nu metal, and he frequently chugs embalming fluid - he says it keeps him "feeling fresh", but cant seem to explain it any better.

so yeah uhhh hope that wasnt too boring sdfljsdf <3 feel free to ask anything about them i love talking abt them :) ill make a separate post to introduce ursula bc i dont have any recent art of all three of them together

inchresting that we see gus with a handful of glyphs. my initial thought is we will see all the kids use glyphs- perhaps the collector makes regular magic not work anymore, but glyph magic is titan magic and it trumps collector magic. they DID go out of their way to set up Gus having more familiarity with glyphs than amity or willow, though, since the illusionists graveyard episode has him using a bunch of ones he took from luz. (even if he runs out and doesnt know how to make more lol, it sets up the idea of him using them). maybe he will be the one to suggest it when the kids are seperated from luz and probably camila. hunter might also be mr no natural magic but hes got a wild magic (titan magic) bird in his chest now and also hes still never used glyphs outside of in hollow mind when they were already in luz's jacket. hmmmmm

When the human desire for attention appear, a… kind of… Game… also appear… To get the most attention possible. To be the one in that bright spotlight, eyes all on You. But some… can't. Or don't. Whatever it is, their personality to them is plain and they crave More Attention. They can't get enough of that feeling of everyone looking at them, talking about them. And so… they start to… impersonate. To try and gain as much Attention as possible with the least amount of effort. But it's not enough. Their desire for attention wasn't fulfilled. They want more, and they Can get more. From the Attention the person they're trying to impersonate.

And so here they are, lavishing in the Attention they have, drowning in the fact that everyone's constant waking thought is about them, about tHEM- Or so they thought. Humans get…. bored. After mingling with one thing, they would move on to the next. The attention they get dropped, and they fade into obscurity. And they can't Have that. They need that Attention so desperately again. And so the cycle of impersonating continue.

"Fluffer" is the manifestation of that. That twisted desire of attention morphing into impersonation. They said time is there enemy, but it is not. That is a misguided conclusion. Their Real enemy, is the human's nature to be curious. To always learn and Know new things. Knowledge about one thing can only be so much, and so the Attention shifted to something else. And that's the problem. (This also basically explain why they wont turn into immortals. Waste of energy and time really, as all immortals are destined to be forgotten and fade into obscurity. No matter what they try.)

so Yeah! uhhh sum things up fluffer is the manifestation of the twisted desire for attention turn to impersonating as a result uhhh theyre also dumb for not realizing that Time is not their enemy like CMON YOU HAVE ALL THAT TIME TO FIGURE THAT OUT.
