You were never usually one to receive spontaneous gifts from others, rarely one to have a secret admirer, so when you walk into your office and see a singular red rose with a small envelope attached, your stomach immediately somersaulted. 

A few days prior, you and Peter were talking about gifts and what he should get MJ for their upcoming anniversary, and then the subject of secret admirers arose. You mentioned how you've never been on the receiving end of those small romantic gestures and how you wished and hoped you could be at some point. To you, it was a simple flyaway comment, but based on Peter's solemn reaction, you couldn't help but think that he felt guilty.

You did ponder if Peter left it for you as a sympathy gift, but the red rose was a tell-tell sign that he didn't. So now, you couldn't help but wonder who gave you the flower. Who knew the passcode for your door? Who knew about your whereabouts? All these questions span in your mind as you walk into your office.

You reach for the rose, bringing the flower to your nose, softly breathing in its fragrant scent as you pick up the envelope. You place the flower down and glance around your office, looking through the windows to see if anyone's watching. Once you know it's clear, you open the paper and pull out the small note. 

' I heard you've never had a secret admirer before,

Even though it's tagged Spider-Man, it could be anyone. Literally anybody. Hundreds, if not thousands, of possibilities. But the one spider that first came to mind was Peter. You wanted to tell him about the strange coincidence and share your happiness about the situation. So you flag him down, rose and note in your hand as you search through HQ for him.

You finally spot him in the cafeteria with Jess and Miguel, talking over food and coffee. You hesitantly make your way over with a smile as you subtly wave over to him. 

"Sorry- sorry, do you mind if I borrow Peter real quick?" you ask, glancing between them all.

"Sure," Miguel softly smiles as he looks you up and down, noticing the rose in your hand. 

"Thank you, we won't be long. Hurry- come on," you say, tugging Peter's arm. 

"Alright, alright," he huffs, taking a final bite of his burger before placing it down. "What's so urgent anyway?" he grumbles, trudging after you as he adjusts Mayday in the Björn.

"You know how I mentioned the other day- about the secret admirer thing...?" you start, looking at him eagerly. "Well, look what I just found," you smile, showing off your rose and note. "I went into my office, and- and it was just sitting there, for me. A rose for me!" you excitedly gush, smiling widely. 

"No way?" he says, his joyful tone matching yours. "Let me see the note,"

As he reads through the letter, you glance around the cafeteria, your gaze honing in on Jess and Miguel, who were not so subtly staring at you. Suspicions rise when you notice them whisper to each other, heads together as if they're in cahoots.

"Hey Peter, can you do me a favour?" you ask, slyly leaning forward.

"Sure, what's up?"

"This might be really wrong, but I need you to do something for me. I need you to eavesdrop, please?" you say sweetly, hoping to mask the morally wrong favour you were asking.

"Seriously?" 

"Yes, please. And do it quick. Miguel and Jess- hurry,"

"Shut up then, so I can listen," he shushes you, chuckling.

He's quiet for a few moments, a slow smile creeping on his face as he listens in on their conversation. 

"What are they saying? Tell me," you ask, eyes keen as they dart around the room.

"I can't tell you..." he grins, shaking his head. 

"Why? Why not?" you playfully hound, gesturing with your hands. "Come on, please?"

"God, he's gonna kill me," he mutters. "All I heard was the end part... Jess said, 'Are you gonna tell her about the rose?' and then Miguel said, 'Let her have her little admirer. She needs it,' okay? That's all I heard,"

Writing Progress #18 🪶

Sooo a couple weeks ago I finished writing Vol 1 draft 2!! 😆

AAAHH it was such a beautiful day. The night before whilst in the shower, I was struck with THE cutest way to end the book and gaaah I love it so much! 😆 I had a really good writing session that day as I finished the draft. A couple days before - as I was nearing the end - I got really emotional. I was crying a lot because I didn’t want it to end...I just felt so happy with this draft. Isn’t it weird how you want something to be over and done with, but once it’s happened you long for it to go on, instead of ending? T0T

Anyway, I had a celebratory quesadilla from Chipotle 😂 (Not dim sum this time, lol.)

Right now I’m taking a writing break~ I actually wrote a list of stuff I wanted to do during this time (including, but not limited to, rewatching Banana Fish 😂💔)

I haven’t done much writing since, just a drabble here and there. Strangely enough, I had thought this break would be a fun and relaxing time to rejuvenate and refill the creative well. But I’ve actually been stressed as HELL 😂🙂 Work has been super busy, there’s some family and friends stuff going on, the weather is HOT as shiz, and I realize now that perhaps my daily routine of writing in the morning before everything else has been what’s keeping me anchored all this time. Huh 🤔 Perhaps next time, for the next writing break, I should still do some light writing in the morning, something unrelated to the series, but make myself sit down and write nonetheless.

Anyway - I’ve done some fun things that weren’t on my list, too!

We went to watch Elemental, and lemme tell you, I cried so much, my eyes were so dry up till the next day. It was so good, my god 😭 The crap marketing did not do it justice at all!! I also couldn’t stop staring at Ember’s nose the whole time because it kept flickering because she’s made of fire 😂

(Side note: that attack on AO3 had scared the HELL outta me. But I’m glad things are okay now!! We will not be brought down so easily!!)

I’ve also been making space to prioritize reading. It’s been good. I’ve been finding a lot of titles I’ve never heard of before, sampling on Amazon first before borrowing from the lib. Something I’ve started doing is going to the lib on Saturday morning and just sitting there reading for like an hour or so. I find that blocking off a chunk of time and just, like, read uninterrupted REALLY helps to get yourself immersed into the story. So yeah, haha. I think that ’bout sums up what I’ve been up too.

Oh! One last thing. Today’s actually the 2nd anniversary of the day I started to seriously write this series 😸 (At this point I have so many anniversaries to celebrate each year, but whatever 😂 Romanticize your milestones, yo!)

Jikook & Serendipity.

We all know Serendipity is Jimin's beautiful solo from the Love Yourself album. We also know that somehow Jikook managed to make a solo song all about themselves. Probably because the lyrics remind them of their own relationship ( RM may have written it keeping Jikook in mind and even if it wasn't....) by consistently referring to it over the years it's Jikook who've made it their song. Sirius & Remus As Dads

Sirius has had such intense baby fever since they were 16 years old

"Look LOOK Moons, she's so tiny and cubby and cute! I want one!"

However, the thought of actually having a baby of his own scares the absolute shiz out of him because of how fucked up his childhood was. He's just really scared he's gonna end up like his parents

Remus didn't ever think he'd want children for a couple reasons

Reason #1. He thinks he's a big scary monster blah blah blah so he feels like he would be a horrible father, his kid would be in danger and they would resent him blah blah...you all know the story

Reason #2. He's actually never been around babies really so they scare him a bit? He just wouldn't know what to do with one?

"I-I don't understand how they work?"

James and Lily have a talk with them and relieve them of their doubts

"You are the two most kind hearted, caring, generous, compassionate, welcoming people I know! You would make amazing parents!"

Harry being born kickstarts their idea to have a baby of their own

Remus decides he wants a kid after watching Sirius' eyes light up and well with tears when he saw Harry for the first time

Sirius just absolutely falls in love with having a little baby in his arms and he's absolutely incredible with Harry, naturally gifted in the art of taking care of babies

So they talk about it and decide to adopt a baby

They read SO many books about babies

Like you could ask them any fact about childcare or pregnancy and they would be able to tell you the answer

Spending so much money on unnecessary supplies "just in case"

Sirius impulsively buying almost everything in the store

"I didn't know which colour to get...so I just got all of them:)"

The baby will stop crying the minute she has eyes on Sirius, he just has a knack for calming her down

Remus sings to her all the time and will do funny character voices when he reads to her

They dress her in the cutest little outfits

Sirius will dance around with her in his arms

Her first word is "Dada", she said it one day when she looked at Remus

He was so happy he jumped around the room for 2 minutes

"DID YOU HEAR THAT? SHE CALLED ME DADA!"

They both have the habit of constantly showing off pictures of her to their friends

They're just so proud of everything she does
