Let’s talk about big picture stuff!
You are both the wave and the ocean 🌊
Your eternal and divine soul that became embodied into this body and this life is the ocean - it has no start, and it has no end.
And yet we are also the wave. Our 80 or so years (if we are lucky) that we live on this planet is a wave. Every year is a wave. Every season is a wave. Every day is a wave. Every thought is a wave. All of it comes and goes, rises and then falls. Starts anew, and then retreats to where it came from.
When we can recognize that we are the ocean, we become undisturbed by all of the ‘waves’ of life - our problems, our issues, our pain points and our grievances. We realize that the sadness, anger and pain come and go just as much as the joy, contentment and peace. We can look at all of the waves coming and going in our lives, and just allow ourselves to be present for all of them, knowing they are impermanent.
Waves crash, but the ocean below is steady, pure, and constant. Meditation allows us to drop from the waves on the surface into the depths of the ocean.
Never forget that you are a spiritual being having a human experience, and not the other way around.
Thank you to @thichnhathanhgems (on IG) for continuing to share his wisdom.

Many years ago, I met a young American named Jim who asked me to teach him about the practice of mindfulness. One time when we were together, I offered him a tangerine. Jim accepted the tangerine, but he continued talking about the many projects he was involved in—his work for peace, social justice, and so on. He was eating, but, at the same time, he was thinking and talking. I was there with him as he peeled the tangerine and tossed the sections of it into his mouth, quickly chewing and swallowing. Finally, I said to him, “Jim, stop!” He looked at me, and I said, “Eat your tangerine.” He understood. So he stopped talking, and began to eat much more slowly and mindfully. He separated each of the remaining sections of the tangerine carefully, smelled their beautiful fragrance, put one section at a time into his mouth, and felt the juices surrounding his tongue. Tasting and eating the tangerine this way took several minutes, but he knew that he had enough time to enjoy eating the tangerine. When he finished eating this way, he realized that the tangerine had become real, the eater of the tangerine had become real, and life had also become real in that moment. What is the purpose of eating a tangerine? It’s just for eating the tangerine. During the time you eat a tangerine, eating the tangerine is the most important thing in your life. - Thich Nhat Hanh, in ”Work”.

Highland cows give me so much joy. I have to remember to collect things, animals and plants that give me joy so that I have a ladder of beauty to climb back up into my bliss. Pic Credits to the OG poster.

Sham ki chai with salty vinegary kettle chips. Remembered I had a melon and cutting fresh fruit while nibbling is the real joy I experienced today. Winding down with a giant glass of red and some leftovers. Rest day was a good idea.

This Body is not Me
by Thich Nhat Hanh
.
This body is not me.
I am not limited by this body.
I am life without boundaries.
I have never been born,
and I have never died.
Look at the ocean and the sky filled with stars,
manifestations from my wondrous true mind.
Since before time, I have been free.
Birth and death are only doors through which we pass,
sacred thresholds on our journey.
Birth and death are a game of hide-and-seek.
So laugh with me,
hold my hand,
let us say good-bye,
say good-bye, to meet again soon.
We meet today.
We will meet again tomorrow.
We will meet at the source every moment.
We meet each other in all forms of life.
