phantom gn!reader x royal!sbi? platonic of course.

the reader is an old friend of philza's since phantom's have a long life span, maybe they were a potions dealer and phil at the time was a hunter and potion dealers and hunters were known to be a great pair during that era so they kicked it off but split after that era was over and moved to other professions.

the sbi are running away after their kingdom turned against them, and phil led them to a forest to try and find reader? but when they arrive wilbur, or someone else of your choosing, freaks out cause they think phantom hybrids are dangerous and such.

but before he makes a move, reader folds their wings which means 'surrender' in phantom? fluff ensues :D hope this isn't too much. /gen

authors notes: this was like, surprisingly really fun to do? super neat concept, thank you for the request!!

Phil had everything planned. His sons couldn't have been able to predict the oncoming rebellion, but Phil sure did. He took extra care in ordering only the most trusted servants and guards to keep Tommy, Wilbur and Techno as isolated in the castle as possible, because if they were to go outside in the public eye in the past 6 months, they'd have an arrow in their neck and crimson on the ground.

Only now do they finally see what's going on- rallies being led to the front drawbridge of the castle and a man standing on a wooden crate. He is slim and lanky. In one hand he held a pitchfork the height of two wine cellar barrels stacked up on each other, in the other he held a large wooden pole with the kingdom's flag slowly engulfing in embers. The crowd smells of sweat, ashes and faux justice.

“People of this wretched kingdom!” the man on the wooden crate starts, raising the burning flag high over his head. The large ashes fall into the crowd as he continues. The man's words fall on deaf ears, however, as Phil orders his guards to alert the princes of their sudden urgent departure.

“I can't believe I'm going to see you again- after 40 years and under these circumstances…”

Phil sighs tiredly, discarding his glistening crown on his pristine writing desk, ridding himself of the last piece of physical evidence of his reign.

Knocks rattle through the large oak door of his bedroom, and a guard speaks with a gruff, urgent tone.

“My King, the princes have been escorted out of the castle with their belongings. They are safe and waiting for you at the largest oak tree in the far east of the forest. I'll have to escort you now; and fast. Knights at the front lines have turned on us and they are lowering the drawbridge to the townspeople. Do you have all your personal belongings?”

Phil grabs two large leather bags, intricate designs dance across the straps of each one. After slinging them over his shoulder, he then turns to the wall closest to the large windows.

Hung up on the wall is a longsword. A few scratches on it and a worn handle, but it was loved well and a bow with a sling of obsidian arrows to go with it. Both items have dust covering them as if it's been ages since they've been swung or plucked, Phils fingers quickly grabbing them and cutting through the dusty residue. He nods, following the guard out of his bedroom soon to be ransacked and burned to the ground; his crown placed on the desk surely to be taken by a squalid dictator.

“PHIL! Phil, what the Fuck is goin on, man?! The whole fuckin towns swarming the castle!”

Tommy yells, his voice panicked and shrill. He stands up immediately from his spot on the lush grass. Taking a good look at him, he carries his own bag prepared by one of his servants before ushering them out of the castle's perimeter. On the surface, he doesn't seem to be equipped with self-defense precautions other than a large rock in his right hand- but Phil can't exactly see into his bag, so he only prays that the former servant packed at least a dagger or something.

“Listen, I'll explain all that later but right now we need to leave, now. It's not safe here anymore, alright?”

Phil glances around to see his other two sons.

Wilbur is seen standing a few feet away, a thousand yard stare as his left foot taps away with what anyone could only assume to be a mania of thoughts on his head. Heavy footsteps circle all three of them, as Techno has been orbiting the small clearance around the large tree. A close look at his stone cold expression makes it clear that he's watching for anyone who could possibly sneak up on the unprepared group.

Wilbur snaps his head up at Phil, “Look at me- Phil. What are we going to do? Because by the look of things, I just happened to notice the rallies of townsfolk with pitchforks and I don't think they seem too happy.” Wilbur babbled.

Techno quickly introjects, voicing his own concerns.

“Listen, how much did you plan for this kinda thing, exactly? Maybe you didn't notice-” he stops pacing, turning to look at the castle in the distance as one of the corner towers erupt into flames from the inside, “-the castles uninhabitable for us anymore, and we're runnin from an entire KINGDOM. So unless you've got some secret life saving plan, now's the time to tell us. Otherwise, I don't see any way we'll be gettin’ out of this.”

All of them are looking at Phil, waiting for an answer to each of their questions. He sighs, pulling out his old longsword from its sheath.

“Techno, take this. So, we absolutely can't go back. I've got a plan, we're going to visit an old friend of mine. And we have to go NOW.”

Phil disclosed, setting off into the woods immediately after. Techno takes the sword hesitantly but wields it like an old friend as he follows directly beside Phil. Tommy sputters concern and shock, but it falls on dead ears. Wilbur is the last to move, standing there looking at where his father once stood with wide, squirrely eyes. He flinches when Tommy calls him to catch up. The boys follow Phil into the thick, suffocating woods.

Each bird that rustles the trees or deer that steps on the dry grass makes the entire group stop each time it happens. Phil has his bow and arrow up and ready, pointed towards the ground as he walks with a cautious eye.

Techno holds the blade of his sword across his body, ready in case an unruly visitor decides to make an unforeseen appearance.

Tommy clutches his rock, though it won't do much compared to a sword and bow but perhaps the sweat from his hands would make its way onto the rock to scare away the opponent.

Wilbur, unlike Tommy, has actually checked his bag prepared by his old servant and finds a decently sized dagger to wield. Not as good as a sword but DEFINITELY better than a sweaty rock. Despite this though, Wilbur seems to be the one most on edge. To no surprise, Wilbur used to be the brother who went the least outdoors. This meant the spontaneous castle lockdown impacted him the least, but the sudden turn of events spawned an intense feeling of shock and confusion at every little thing he failed to be instantly familiar with. This feeling only heightens at an alarming rate as the group arrives at a strange treehouse.

Knock, knock, knock

Phil knocks on the tree three times. A few dead silent seconds pass before odd sounds seem to emit from…inside the tree?

Like clockwork, a long staircase folds out from inside the tree step by step. Techno, Wilbur and Tommy flinch back, a contrast to phils calm and almost excited face.

Footsteps gradually make their way down the steps, and the more Wilbur sees the more alert he becomes.

Sure, he had never been one for going outside much if at all, but with the castle's grand library to keep him busy, he had learned a few things. A few things about those white markings on blue tinted skin. About those lime green eyes and slim, scaly tail. About those large intimidating wings that could circle prey for hours, and those razor sharp teeth that can bite chunks out of a human's shoulder and soar away in an instant to circle back and make sure they go for the neck next time.

“Phil? Oh my gosh, phil?! It's been YEARS, man! What're you doing here again- came to pay me a visit, ay?” Y/n jested as they went in for a friendly hug, however instead of Phil they felt he was replaced with a sharp dagger pointed at their throat.

“Hey, hey, hey! Calm down there, pal-” Y/n put their hands up in defense, Wilbur cautiously holding his weapon to their throat.

“Right, I’m telling you now to stay away from Phil- don’t fucking touch Phil you feral monst-” he brings himself to a full stop as he hears a loud swish of the air. He looks from Y/n's wide eyes, to their wings, folded and pressed into their back, at their face, and at their wings again before hesitantly withdrawing his dagger and shuffling back a bit.

Folded wings mean no harm.

If there was anything he remembered at that very moment from the various books he's read, it was that. Y/n's face was alarmed and a bit shocked, sure, but their face seemed to match up with their wings and their intentions were clear; they meant no harm. He fully settled down, giving them more room to move as they slowly put their hands down and relaxed.

“I'm an old friend. I don't wanna hurt anyone, I promise. You won't see me trying to get damage on anyone here, swear to it.”

Y/n says, still trying to be tentative of their tone. While Y/n seems to be much more forgiving of the sudden out of pocket threats, Phil on the other hand was furious. A hard smack in the back of Wilburs head seemed to get the message through.

“What the hell was that, Wil?!”

Phil scolds Wilbur, with no remorse even after Wilbur hisses and rubs the back of his head in pain. Techno and Tommy burst out laughing, easing up the tension.

“Bruhh, I'm gonna be honest Wilbur, it doesn't seem like you really thought that one through.” Techno chimes in, a taunting grin on his face.

“Man, if I were you Wilbur, I'd be so, SO embarrassed if I were you, but luckily, y’know, I’m me. Me and NOT you, Wilbur.” Tommy boasted with a shiteating smile.

“Anyway, enough with the smalltalk. What're you doing here, Phil? Haven't seen you in what, 40 years? Shouldn't you be ruling that kingdom I've been hearing about? Also, who are these guys? Never seen them before.”

Y/n gestured towards the three younger boys as they spoke, nodding their head towards the trio. Phil gruffly sighs, remembering the months of resistance against his reign. Y/n notices his sudden change of emotions and intently listens.

“The kingdom got tired of us. There was lots of gossip about some man who started this huge cult following- something about him being a god or something pretty much. He got so popular that his cult eventually took over the entire kingdom. That's when he convinced all the citizens that he should be king and that we were ‘imposters sent by Lucifer himself’ or something. He overtook the castle, and that's when we all had to sneak away. These three are my sons, Techno, Wilbur, and Tommy.”

Techno nods at Y/n with a brief hello, Wilbur hums to show his presence, and Tommy gives a boisterous “hello there!”

Y/n stands there with a dumbfounded expression before responding.

“Well first off, hello boys, lovely to meet you. Secondly-” they take a deep breath before continuing, “-WHAT?! They just- ambushed you? Just like that? Man, I mean if the people in that kingdom were THAT easy to persuade into some cult, I don’t think you'd wanna rule there anyway.”

Smalltalk continues between Y/n and Phil, they offer them all a place to stay for as long as they need. Phil expresses his gratitude to Y/n, but there seems to be another conversation going on.

“Well go on, Tommy! You ask!”

“WHAT?! No, no, no, if you're so curious about it then why don't YOU ask?!”

“I've gotta agree with Wilbur on this one, Tommy. I mean, if we're gonna be livin’ here then you've gotta start pullin’ your weight, you relied on the serfs too much anyway.”

The huddle breaks as the trio stands up straight. Wilbur speaks up, seeming to act like his normal self again.

“Now, excuse me, Mx. Y/n? Tommy has a bit of a question he'd like to ask you, if you would be so kind.”

Wilbur declares, nudging Tommy forward to urge him to speak. Tommy jerks the side of his back away from Wilbur in annoyance. If you try hard enough, you can hear him angrily mutter “bunch of fuckin wrong ‘uns…” under his breath. Tommy turns to Y/n and Phil, clearing his throat before speaking.

“How do you know Phil?"

….

“Wow, way to make that question really captivatin’, Tommy. Way to go.”

“SERIOUSLY Techno shut the FUCK UP!”

Y/n lets out a snort before answering the question.

“Ahh, Phil here and I used to be partners waaay back. I was his potion dealer and he was a hunter back when that whole pair was popular- not even sure if you guys were alive for that era. We were real close for a good while before that whole thing died out and we went off to do different things. I've got my own thing and by the looks of it Phil does too. But man, you kept the bow and sword? Those ancient things?”

Y/n nods at the sword that Techno is still holding, though he sheathes it back into its holder now that he feels unthreatened. Y/n reaches up, stretching their back and flaring their wings out to stretch as well before relaxing.

“Oh, here, come inside! I've got a good amount of extra rooms, so make yourselves at home. Something tells me you'll be here for a while.”

Wilbur

I don't have a reference for the front of his coat, but the back looks pretty much exactly like this and is the same length as this too

this is mostly accurate to the circlet wilbur wears, except the black gems are a little longer and thinner to make them look more like feathers rather than leaves

Niki

Niki's gown is very similar to this, except it's white instead of black, the shoulder pieces are gold and not silver, and the shoulder pieces are shaped like stars instead of flowers.

the headpiece I described niki wearing is pretty much exactly this with the way it wraps around her head in front of her braids, except it's white again instead of black with the same gold detailing

Tommy

I don't have a good reference photo for his cloak. Just know that it's a very oversized and thick cloak that falls all the way to the ground. it's white with gold and silver embroidery designed to look like swirling winds

however I do have a reference for the crown

this is pretty much what I imagine the eldingvegr crown to look like. it's not really a crown at all, it's more of a headband with these sunrays shooting out from it

look I just thought it was funny okay. fragrance man vibes and all. he's also got a lot of silver and steel jewerly on (rings, necklaces) and some thin chains decorating his outfit as well

basically this coat except it's pale blue instead of red, and the embroidery is silver and a bit more delicate than this

this is what I imagine the zephys iv crown phil is wearing to look like! except it's a bit more sharp and jagged than this one.

I'm so sorry though I do not have any references for phil's actual coronation outfit for the life of me. just go reread the description of his fit I gave in the chapter and do your best I'm not super nitpicky about it I promise

I LOVED getting to find all the fashion for the coronation. the space royalty aesthetic stars has is just sooooo good for outfits it's this super specific vibe that's not full royalty but not full sci fi either and idk how to describe it but I know exactly what it is when I see it and I just have so much fun with it

do you happen to have/know of any techza (eben emduo) art that would make a good lockscreen? I'm trying to find something for the gay old men

well, depends what you like! do you prefer them being more or less human? also what flavor of gay we feelin, swords and violence or cuddling on a couch?

wiggleworm-art has a lot of variety in their designs and themes, and in basically all of them they're very close together and being very gay. i think this piece, one of my faves, would make a good lockscreen, but i'm a full piglin/anthro techno truther and i know that's not for everyone.

there's also a lot i'm yet to reblog! if you browse the art tag and click on any of the artists they have a lot more art than what is in this blog so far (im trying not to destroy people's notifs lol) so maybe they'll have something that'll fit your screen nicely

i guess it also depends on how subtle you're trying to be. If you'd like something a bit more tame let me know, and i'll go browsing for stuff in the /p section of the store

oh you think i'm over this? no i refuse. in fact i am STILL losing it over the fact that hanya and i managed to call a metropolis reference a YEAR in advance. i have a contentious relationship with the ateez stylists bc they have produced some very......questionable work (ketchup packet seonghwa), but then sometimes their affinity for ugly hits just the right spot like it did with guerrilla. not only is the styling an excellent blend of the best of ugly skater punk and revolutionary counter culture, but the mv is full of art references that perfectly balance the idea of starting a revolution in a dystopia where art and emotions have been made illegal.

i have some...complicated feelings about gasoline that i'll get into in an extended post eventually, but i went back and watched the mv again for the first time in a few months and despite my complicated feelings, kibum gets it. the visual cohesion of this album is so interesting and unusual and there's so many ideas that i do love that it would be a betrayal to not have it in my top three. from the album design to costuming to all the promo material that comes out, kibum has such a strong eye and excellent ability to work with his team and i respect it so much.

panorama - lee chanhyuk

one half of akmu, chanhyuk had his solo debut and he went whole hog on doing something very holistically conceptual, down to the types of performances that he did. the album tells the story of a coma patient, and i highly recommend it as a listening experience, but the performances of panorama are exactly what i mean when i want idols to be fucking around with form. there are not that many so i'm actually going to give a brief description of each of them, because if there are any links you click on from this post, it should be these ones:

mcountdown 221020: he does the entire performance standing still with his back to the camera, including the ending fairy

music core 221022: does the entire performance with his back to the audience, staring into a mirror that is being held up by his manager

k-909 - eyewitness account: this is of one of the bsides, does the entire performance holding a glass of wine that he then dumps down his front halfway through the song

k-909 - panorama: honestly the most 'normal' of the bunch, but you can see the consistency in how he's performing and what type of aesthetic markers are acting as a throughline

inkigayo 221023: has a barber shave his whole head on stage in one take while he's singing

girls - aespa

i love aespa's techno nonsense. girls has all the flavour of a pre split tvxq mv but in a higher resolution. girls is purple line's daughter in a different colour scheme. i am not taking any criticism i'm right and you know it. the only thing it's missing is cunty yunho and honestly you could put him in there as he currently is and i wouldn't even bat an eye.

yea yea obligatory purple kiss entry, i love them and while memem wasn't a hit for me nerdy MORE than made up for it. once again they had almost a month long promo period and they managed to hit a variety of different looks from reimagined alt school uniforms to overly large sweaters. nerdy is probably tied for zombie from last year for me for best styling they've ever had. also rbw stylists are the only valid stylists for knowing how to dress someone who isn't a size zero.

sparkling - chungha

i love the idea of combining bird imagery and ocean imagery. it makes zero sense logistically if you give it an ounce of thought BUT the combination of feathers and sparkles and iridescent sheen with coral and lots of bright colours are such a lush visual experience that who even cares that birds don't swim. or fish don't fly. whatever look at the sparkles.

doom du doom - p1harmony

honestly i had a bit of struggle deciding on if i wanted to include this song or back down, because they both have really fun and creative mvs, but doom du doom won out in the end because i liked the stage styling more. the mv and its broke grimy street urchin olympic theme is so weird and charming and i love that they just have a guy hanging out in the background of all the shots just to be the guitar player. the choreo's fun af and actually uses their members' skills (see my choreo post), and it's a great touch that they had a couple of different flags made and they rotate them occasionally.

hair cut - xdinary heroes

like with the p1harmony entry, i had to decide which one of their two cbs from this half of the year i wanted to include, and it was TOUGH. i loved the styling for test me and admittedly it scratches my personal itch for punky shit, i like the ideas happening in hair cut more. plus the promo material from hair cut is just chefs kiss. so many jype groups went for an alice in wonderland theme in their cbs this year and personally i preferred xh's version because at least they threw in a lot of other references that offset it from being a direct one to one concept. the edward scissorhands themed concept photos were probably some of my favourite concept photos of all time. and they also produced a very cool and fun medley film for their album highlights that really loops all their thematic references together and has some great outfits.

smartphone - yena

alright girlies pack it up, we got the definitive quirky girl fusion y2k cb, i don't wanna see anymore! i'm not a super avid follower of yena, but i really liked smiley and i like that she's got a consistent visual flavour. smartphone is a really fun blend of 00s references and retro gaming that gives it a different flavour then a lot of the y2k revival stylings that we've been seeing over the last year. although i'm not gonna lie, this cb makes me feel extra haggy, especially when she takes 'selfies' with the flip phones (for the young'uns, they did not have front cameras), but it's still very cute and fun.

runners' up

ok to start off: i have to make a category within a category, and that category is 'boy groups that vomited colours and fabrics all over the stage for three minutes', because no joke there where THREE separate cbs that had nearly identical stylings (there where actually more. i almost included bae173 here) and i honestly could not pick between any of them which i liked more. so here's the shortlist:

can't stop shining - tempest // the ogs, it was bad news that started this trend in the first place. i actually think the css styling is better than bad news, but i gotta acknowledge her trendsetting nature and also the competition was TOUGH in the back half of the year. highlights: the mv, mcountdown 220908, inkigayo 220904, show champion 220907

party rock - cravity // i was ready to be disproving bc nothing will ever be party rock anthem but the kids won me over. every single stage is just. what is happening. 10/10. highlights: music bank 221028, inkigayo 221009, inkigayo 221002, music bank 221007

drummin' - to1 // while i don't love that they booted two members (only for them to appear on boys planet), the rebrand for to1 has been really successful for me. drummin' is a fun dorky retro concept with some great choreography. they had the most themed styling of the three, which occasionally had some fun marching band inspired outfits. highlights: the show 220802, music bank 220805, mcountdown 220728

ok now that's out of the way, here's the rest of the runners' up:

play - lucy

i did actually talk about this mv briefly already, it's one of my all time favourite mvs from this year and maybe even one of my faves from the last several years. it's so stunning and heartfelt and deserves like 50 million more views.

halazia - ateez

honestly it was a toss up if i wanted to include halazia here or save it for the 2023 list because i wasn't sure what the stages were gonna look like, but now that i've seen a couple of them i'm confident this is the category i'd put it in for 2023 if i waited. i don't love the stage stylings but oh my fucking GOD the mv itself is a fucking masterpiece. the hala scarecrows...............

birthday - ten

screaming crying throwing up etc etc we all know, it's only in this category bc he didn't get to promote it other than on k-909.

forgive me - boa

screaming crying throwing up etc etc part two. the dinner table, the hats. the bloody stage. she's the queen for a reason. also only here because she didn't promote.

door - ftisland

i am not going to let any of you forget that this is a hag appreciation zone!!! also this is a great mv; it's fun, it's got great outfits, the production design is pointedly minimal. only in this category bc it's a jpn release.

hit the bass - blitzers

eyes on you - kangta

yea i know i'm the only kangta fan left on this webbed site and i don't care!!! this is a great mv with lot of great lighting effects and also a fantastic choice for the backup dancers costuming to include reflective taping. costume design that interplays with lighting is one of my specialties and i gotta shout it out the rare times it happens. also i'm pimp the og 90s it boy stage again, because i can and also it's a galaxy brained styling choice for him. and it has gorgeous set design.

pose - kino

gorgeous pink velvet suit, gorgeous mv that utilizes one of the most diffifult but most beautiful times to film: golden hour. he did do a stage in the pink velvet suit, but the mv is soooooooo pretty that it had to be on here.

458 - cix

for being produced with like $100 and however much it cost to rent that hawk, 458 is a fantastic bottle mv and definitely takes one of my top spots for having the most interesting combinations of imagery this year. there's a very obtuse connection to be made with the travels of dante through the circles of hell and motorsports and i wish they had played more into the idea of having driver/guide bc that could have been fun. also they should have called hajime kinoko and got hyunsuk strung up properly. it wouldn't have been that hard, he does commissions. just saying.

nabillera - hyuna

not my favourite of hyuna's showings, but she's still insane enough to make the list. love that she always greases up either herself or her dancers, or in this case, both. i'm gonna include some stages here bc the outfits are good, even though she didn't do that many: mcountdown 220721, inkigayo 220724.

birthday - red velvet

didn't love all the stylings, but the mv is a blast and the graphic design and all the concept and promo materials are soooooo good. my fave outfits are the 'candy' encrusted ones from music bank 221202.

standout element

mood trailer: awakening - trendz // this imagery literally never appeared anywhere else but this mood trailer is extremely cool.

28 reasons album trailer - seulgi // i wasn't expecting the mv to follow up on how good this trailer was, especially since it was for the album and not the mv, but damn it's good. it's so good. much better than the more half baked fairytale ideas that ended up in the mv proper.

i scanning film - nine.i // do i know what the hell is going on here? absolutely not. but the vfx are fucking CRAZY and i love how it's the intro song for the album.

you might have noticed that the standout element sections have been on the slim side this year, and that's because i'm actually gonna do a bonus post this year! since i got extremely hamstrung by the tumblr post limit, i wasn't able to showcase some of the music show stages that stuck out to me for whatever reason, so i'm going to make a post that's just dedicated to them. it won't necessarily be just stylings i thought were good, it will include good performances or nice set design or anything else that i didn't cover somewhere else. i know a lot of people don't watch music shows for whatever reason and therefore i think they miss out on a lot, so this is gonna be a fun post to highlight some of the stuff that i think is worth watching.

#Dungeon23

Started by Sean McCoy, one of the guys behind Mothership.

The idea is to create one dungeon room a day, organized into one dungeon level a month, and end up with a megadungeon by the end of 2023. I think most of the wider #Dungeon23 talk is happening on Twitter, but because Twitter is a vile pit of corruption that upsets my humors, I'll be posting here.

I do actually run a game for several of my followers, who can rest assured that there won't be any spoilers for that game in this project. At most I'll steal bits and pieces and recycle them into any games I play in the future, maybe an element as big as a whole room.

Initial details for my #Dungeon23 below the thing.

I've got a shiny new planner - a Hobonichi Techno Weeks, the kind Sean is using because I've been into stationery brands for the past few years. It arrived in the mail a few days ago and it was so nice I was tempted to scrap the project and use it as a planner as intended, but I played a lot of Dungeon Keeper at an impressionable age and will take any excuse to imagine a hostile underground space. Like the song says, I'd rather kick it in the dungeon cuz I'm that kind of beast.

The planner actually starts five weeks before January, which gives me five sub-levels or minor dungeons connected in some way with the main one, once I figure out what's actually going on in the megadungeon. The dungeon itself is unnamed and has no overarching theme so far, I may have to give it a few months before something becomes apparent to me. But that seems to be the original spirit of the thing - just focus on getting one room out a day, the rest can come later.

I'll be using a combination of OSRIC and Old School Essentials (SRD) as well as whatever else strikes my fancy to populate the place.

I'll make one reblog chain a month here to keep posting my weekly progress, to be updated on Mondays. The plan is to also provide commentary to expose some of my thought process behind the design.

A proper update will appear at some point on Monday 8/1 but here's where I'm at so far (commentary will also wait until Monday).

2/1: 7 goblins @ a, loudly arguing over division of loot from robbed merchant. 3' high table @ b, originally for tributes, stone. Statues of previous monarchs.

3/1: Set of chimes @ a, can be heard in 2/1 when played.

5/1: The Bejeweled Chimes of Lubliani - valuable, but need to be disassembled to be moved. Can be heard in 6/1. Portion of southern wall pivots - secret door.

– Overall opinion of them

I ADORE Ted Kord. What a guy! His design is top tier, he's got so much depth, and he's an annoying little shit. And I feel like that's what makes him great! I love that most of his struggles are less "supervillain/rivalry/world ending mega-events" (though he is certainly involved in plenty of those!) and more mundane things. Like depression, or struggling with his weight, or having no money. He's got a chronic heart condition, he's constantly on the verge of a breakdown, and he's out here kicking ass anyway.He just...feels like an actual person more than a comic book character. And, I cannot stress this enough, he's fun. I would want to be his friend. I would want to hang out watching Star Trek with him. He's just a guy, doing his best. Glad he's alive and active in comics again! And glad he's still funny.

– Gender/sexuality headcanons

Sexuality, 100% bi or pan! Ted's horny on main, constantly, in all directions. Like, he's a massive flirt in canon. But he's also very dedicated to anyone he's actually in a relationship. I think he probably has some struggles coming to terms with not being heterosexual, but grows more comfortable with it as time goes on.

As for gender, I am of the opinion that he certainly thinks of himself as a cis man. But I also think it's more something he hasn't put a lot of time into contemplating. I think Ted Kord’s relationship with gender is best summarized by the following comic:

There are a few times this happens, and it is one of my favorite reoccurring little plots:

Alien invades earth in big, spooky spaceship

Ted Kord gets in the vents/service tubes, aliens ignore him because there are bigger immediate threats

Ted Kord gets to engineering/power/controls

Ted Kord does what he does best (techno-bullshit)

Ship explodes/stalls/is otherwise incapacitated

And it's fucking great, every time!

I also love this moment from Rebirth (which I enjoyed, even if my feelings are a bit mixed). I quote this to myself all the time, when I'm feeling stressed. I just love the moments when he reminds us why he's lasted so long in a very dangerous lifestyle. The brains and the moxxy!

– Favorite moment in a fanwork

In the fantastic fan-fiction A Groovy Kind of Love by totilott, he has this fantastic breakdown in the rain following some very stressful time traveling (including the fact that he absolutely does not get along with a past version of him). It's visceral. I literally had to get up and walk away the first time I read it.

Really, that whole series is great, highly recommend. He goes through a lot, and it's so fun to enjoy the journey he's on.

– Favorite line, in canon or otherwise Hmm, everything out of his mouth is pure gold, but I guess I'll have to go with a classic:

"My name is Ted Kord. I am the second man to call himself the Blue Beetle. I tell myself there will be a third. And I hope whoever he or she may be, they do better at it than I have."

– Characters I love seeing them interact with

Well, Booster Gold is the obvious answer. The best buddy-comedy duo in comics! And after that really all of the JLI! But I really dig his interactions and dynamic with Tora! They are always so supportive of each other, it's very sweet.

I also like his interactions with Babs in the Bird of Prey run. Reminds me of a lot of my online friendships, just two people with a lot in common who like hanging out!

I want him to hang out with the Question more.

– Last thing before sleeping headcanons

Ted strikes me as a classic, "just-one more thing" type of insomniac. Like just staying up way too late doing shit. So I guess before sleep, he probably takes a nice long shower to unwind, pop a few painkillers, and the proceeds to lie awake staring at the ceiling in bed until his brain shuts off.

– Sleeping habits headcanons

Ted sleeps like crap. He tosses, he turns, he throws off the blankets, then steals them back. He snores like a train, talks in his sleep, and generally just makes a lot of noise for someone unconscious. He also tends to fall asleep in improbable or uncomfortable places and positions. If he's sleeping next to someone, he will kick them in the shins. Guaranteed.

– First thing after waking up headcanons

I think he's one of those people who is absolutely shit in the morning. He's put his body through hell, waking up is painful!So he does a lot of stretches to get the kinks out, bitching the whole time. After that, puts the coffee on, pops his meds, and gives himself a solid hour to feel human.

– Favorite locations headcanon

Ted has always struck me as a basement kind of guy. Like, he'd be comfortable wherever as long as its dark, underground, and full of cool shit. He's mentioned being a city boy in canon, so I think he has a soft spot for places like dive bars and hole-in-the wall clubs. He loves Chicago and New York, and generally feels more at home in colder climates than warm. He strikes me as the kind of guy who rides the subway for fun, as well.

Ok. So the time from 2020 lockdown till now has been transitional to me, with goods, badies as well as "just is" things to be processed/ needed to be gone throw.

Including change of how I practice my gifts to serve the esoteric/ spiritual community.

I ve lost most of my free clientele base of tarot since I stopped checking messages, ones who I'm still grateful for because theyve given me feedback, but I also have grown while giving them readings. Turned out esoteric community has spies, trolls who poke under many accounts. To test authenticity of your psychic gifts.

We are all psychic deep down. To put you to disappointment, even a healthy capable of seeing driver would hit a car to a wall if you try distorting his sight while driving. I think now my point is taken clearly. Spirituality like anything has rules, but what you see as psychic has more layers to it. In the end when I help, it wasn't out of obligation, I'm not right hand path. Maybe a bit stoic, but not rhp. So I help willingly.

No reading- despite mine are always mostly accurate- can do for you full satisfaction as you choosing your God given destiny through free will.

The fact that also social media is like a group of gossiping small town women, is overwhelming. Overwhelming when you realise you are being watched thoroughly even by people you don't know, although they don't press like nor comment, but you realise through comparing views of videos on a platform along with people who watch Pinterest for example versus people who watch you on twitter and your posts somehow go viral from one platform to another!

Especially with word twisting or stealing your intellectual property while not giving you credit. This was all contemplative to me.

Along with the telepaths who are sent by some group or force to know all about you disguising as friend.

I spent a three months retreat in a monastery to harness thoughts control, somehow I'm very wired to the universe I end up as "hot spot" for telepaths as I was told.

That along with possiblity of feeling like I'm canceled before I begin a blog or change social media. I know it sounds like I think I'm center of the universe, we I'm in my own story at least. So as everyone in theirs. But point is, you cant help the feeling especially when some forces or same personality types stalk you throughout life.

So I was healing that.

For me I don't care, despite of rollercoaster, paradoxes, selfishness, gaslighting and witch/ psychic wars of the community. Im on a mission, I decided to grow and help. The other side and spirit realms are all I know.

My religion is my belief in the unseen.

But aside from this, I revised lots of things while away for Techno reasons that made using social media difficult or notifications inaccessible.

I focus now on healing with energy even if I'll give readings.

I still do past life therapy , join my discord to meditate, uplift your daily mood, have some stoic positivity and also do yoga sometimes and attend dharma. Prices of reiki sessions are in discord, so as meditation courses.

Aside from that , I help with entity removal, but only depends on condition.

My life has been demanding to keep all the peace I could store.

I should be active from hereon, but on Fridays.

Wednesday free readings to all or one or one are closed, due to need of storing my energy and revising my morality about altruism, when to give it and when not to.

I'll be giving free general readings mostly Fridays if I will, and on seasons I'll open door to one on one for free, there's discounts even for charged readings in season.

Guess who is back from the grave and back on their bullshit??

And I'm back with some announcements for the 3-4 people who like my stuff, y'all the real ones.

Anyways, announcements.

I'm working on a bunch of little writing prompts and I hope to actually be more active online, I want to make a community full of chill peeps who have similar interests as me and I want to actually make progress on my damn arg so I can finally show the people my work.

My ARG, Mindless Satire, is gonna be delayed for a while because of many factors but the main thing is I'm basically doing this solo and editing is still new af to me. it is in the works tho and I plan on making more art based around it. Hopefully you all will love it as much as I do, it's been in the works for years up until this point and it's gone through so many variations it's insane. I'm finally satisfied with the final idea of it so now it's just a matter of working and filming it.

Another thing is that I want to start writing more in general, I've been slacking in that department since school has been my main priority but summer is getting closer and now that I'm getting breaks I have more time to do things I love. I'll start posting prompts and stuff throughout the day to keep this little blog active and busy

Not to mention I have two main projects I have on the stove and a few on the back burner.

Currently cooking;

(1. ) The DSMP ; Rewritten - I don't think I've talked about this on here but I have always wanted to write my own iteration on the DSMP, I put it kinda on the back burner after school started coming down harder on deadlines and I was actually planning on scraping it all together. It wasn't until techno passed that I finalized the decision to work on it at a later date, up until this point I have been writing headcanons, notes, and potential character arcs for this series to fully flesh out aspects I feel should have been (like characters and their arcs, Eret was by far my favorite to write for omg the POTENTIAL)

On the topic of the DSMP, imma say this here and I'll write it out on the sites I'll upload the official pages, yes. I will be writing the c! Versions of the dream team. HOWEVER, I don't support them at all and their actions. I am not the biggest fan of them but because it's a rewrite of the DSMP it's important that there in it, by their design of course. But then again, I'm running and writing the show this time around so imma flesh their characters out how I'll see fit. You all are just gonna have to wait and see. Hopefully you guys will like my takes

(2. ) Limbo's Advocate - this one is brand new and was initially gonna just be a practice for me to get back into writing. But then the idea spiraled and while it's still gonna be an experiment to test my skill, it's became such a good idea that I just wanted to flesh it out as well.

Basically, the series is inspired by genloss (even tho it's not out yet but shhh-)

The premise is as follows;

Similar to the Magnus archives, The Association of Supernatural Security and Etherial Testing (also known as ASSET) has given a better position in the company to the intern, codename; RANBOO.

After the disappearence of the original catalyst, the job was given to Ranboo. As the new catalyst, it's Ranboo's job to document and properly organize evidence and witness testimonies and do all sorts of stuff for the company and it's many other branches of workers.

Things begin to get weird tho because all horror related things need to get weird to work and Ranboo begins to document entities in a journal because of his bad memory, this leads to a lot of realizations as he puts together a tragic and disturbing reality.

Yeah I know pretty vague but bare with me here I'm trying to be mysterious and rope you guys in. I already have a long list of characters which includes Crumb, Aimsely, Billzo, Sneegsnag, Shane and Ryan, and a shit ton of other creators. I already have a bunch of the case ideas noted down too so now I just have to find time to start writing.

And that's just about the current concepts that on the stove right now, a bunch of back burner projects will probably be announced at a later date? Most of them are original works I came up with when I was in 7th grade lol. I'll probably edit and switch around some things before shilling it out.

Fun fact, Mindless Satire was a concept I came up with as a prompt during 7th grade and only until the pandemic did I actually start taking it seriously.

HA I TRICKED YOU, it's not little, it's a lot!

Alright, this was just supposed to be an attempt at character design of my own after I read bunch of Superhero AUs, but I got carried away and created some lore :')

-WILBUR-

Full Name: Both him and Techno had been adopted by Philza at young age and took up his last name, but wanted to keep something of their own. Hence, both have their nicknames "Soot" and "Blade" (not last names, they don't know what they were).

Alias: I wanted to base all names of the Syndicate on Greek mythology, however I had hard time finding something for Wilbur. I came close to calling him Apollo, but most of the things attributed to this god, aside being the patron of music, just didn't align with what I had in mind for him. Thus, ta da, "very original" Siren. Even tho, it's not really a name name - "lured sailors to their death with a bewitching song" just fits too well.

Powers: Hypnotic voice was an obvious choice, but I wanted all of them to have two main abilities. Thus, after long search I stumbled upon enhanced hearing, and hear me out. Wilbur wears mask over his eyes (he can see through it) but it gives the illusion that one of his senses is gone, and what they say when one sense is taken away? Another one amplifies >:D And I just think that someone whose powers are based on sound would be more sensitive to it. It's not like he has super hearing for miles away, he can just hear well what someone is whispering like few meters away form him :p

OK THAT'S IT. I think that's the most I've ever written on this site. To anyone who've read the whole thing: ily <333 thank for reading my rambling and sorry for any grammatical errors, English is not my first language and I was too lazy to do a spell check.

-TECHNO-

Full name: Explained before. I'm sorry, but I just can't separate those names from them, there is no Techno without Blade.

Alias: Now I spent a lot of time on this one, bc I just couldn't settle on anything. First I thought about Ares, for being the patron of blood lust and warfare, but just, it didn't work that much for me, I just think there should be more meaning behind the name. Then I searched more, I stumbled on Polemos and some other I can't remember and finally settled on Perses.

PERSES was the Titan god of destruction. He was the father of Hekate, goddess of witchcraft, by the Titanis Asteria ("Starry One"). Perses' name means "the Destroyer" or "the Ravager" from the Greek words persô and perthô. Hesiod inexplicably describes him as "preeminent among all men in wisdom"

And I just think this one's perfect. God of destruction? nice. "The Ravager"? Techno loved mc ravagers and I just can't pass this coincidence. "Preeminent among all men in wisdom"? Man's crazy smart, also as I'll explain more in a moment, Techno knows things he shouldn't really know, and he's almost always ahead of everyone, so, check. Also, my fav goddess aside form Persephone is Hecate so, additional point.

Powers: Enhanced durability is pretty explanatory. Mans could be thrown through a building and only his hair would get messy, maybe a bruise here and there and a lot of complaining, but that's it. You need someone equally powerful to bring him down. NOW, hyper awarness, man oh man, so I NEEDED to include the voices somehow. And I never saw them as something negative in his case. Of course, during combat, they start to demand bloodshed and make him sometimes loose control or result in sensory overload. BUT most of all, thanks to them he knows things - names of people or locations he never seen before, where the punch is coming at him from, answers to weird questions, who stole his food, and why is it always Wilbur, etc etc. So, yeah I thought that writing it down as hyper awarness, might work.

Additional info: His eyes are always red, but his sclera changes color to black when he's out on a mission or fighting, basically when the voices become louder the eyes become more intense in color. As civilian he wears red glasses most of the time to somehow mask the real color.

-PHILZA-

Full Name: You have no idea how much I wanted to write him down as Philza Mine Craft.

Alias: So, I also struggled to find a name for him. I was battling between Thanatos or simply calling him The Angel of Death. But then I was struck and everything became clear. I love fanfics where Phil was a hero before he saw how bad the system is and decides to become the "bad guy" who's actually kinda good, but does bad things sometimes. So, why not use it. In my version, before he became a villain, he was known as Angel, the Hero Committee wasn't as fully developed, so the heros still could stay anonymous, that's why even now they don't know his real identity. After he left he decided to take up new alias and therefore Thanatos was born. Person with black wings associated with Death, also now has a scythe??? Fits perfectly. And that's how people from calling him Angel started calling him The Angel of Death.

Powers: He has the ability to hide his wings and manifest them whenever he wants. I thought about making them just permanent, but I think it's just cooler when suddenly you see a character spring out a pair of big wings out of their back out of nowhere for the shock effect. (no i wasn't just too lazy to draw them, what are you talking about)

Avian telephaty - I also just couldn't not include the Chat. Wherever you see a cloud of crows you know the Angel of Death is nearby. He can communicate with any bird that is a raven, crow or rook. They're his eyes and ears.

and yeah! oh gods, stretching is so nice (although I am literally the least flexible person ever)! even more because what I study forces me to stay in front of a computer in uncomfortable poses (when I tell you I had to watch a record of a lesson and my ass was numb by the end of it) and I'll be getting up and be like 'yeah, I don't think that muscles should be there' (so, absolutely love the sensation!).

(no bestie, I gotcha about Vaella, because as somebody who also have oc of children, I love them all equally but there are two specifically I love to come up with headcanons and ideas about. I also absolutely love that shy little girl gets Arnas as an husband, as he gives me both burly but also very devoted man. I mean... he is fictional...) (not Arnas, the husband, but Arnas might as well be considering how pretty he looks).

ahhh, I am glad my silly talk could be helpful and I am sure that with summer and the freer time and better weather, you'll be able to focus on it better!

in all truth, I have to admit that I am one more for comfort than aesthetic about house design so I'd probably be looking all supportive at Aemond showing me all this cute stuff... but yeah, the mental image is so cute and I am all for cute blankets and mugs (MATCHING ONES WOULD SEND ME). in all truth, I feel like Aemond is already planning your move in, once he starts to feel more comfortable with you, so there'd be already a whole new toothbrush for you.

It’s the only yoga instructor that doesn’t make me feel bored and she has some very energizing routines that would maybe help you when you’ve been too long sitting in front of the computer. Also aaaaaaah swimming sounds super delicious right now because it’s starting to heat up here and it’s been YEARS since I’ve been to a pool/beach!

Omg omg giggling kicking my feet screaming, exactly!! Something about that contrast makes me super giddy. Shy Vaella deserves a hot af, northern, passionate lover to bring her out of her shell. I need to give this guy a name because I only refer to him as ‘her betrothed who looks like Arnas’ 😅 but I’m thinking about him and Vaella CONSTANTLY.

Also about comfort vs aesthetic, I was the same and always chose things because they were indulgent (I have all the spooky blankets ever, and a jack-o-lantern pillow, and a collection of spooky mugs that is getting out of control) and I never got why my mom would be constantly buying aesthetically pleasing things when we already have so much dishes and sheets and what have you. Like I rather spend money on clothes than house things. And then I stepped into the Zara Home store once and I saw these plate set and I suddenly had an epiphany lmao. I imagine that would totally be the case of living with Aemond, you suddenly pick up on his taste for nice home things 😅 but matching mugs!??? My heart 😭 dying with Aemond planning your move in because I feel like he’d already be planning your wedding and retiring when you’re both old and you haven’t even gone on the second date yet 😅 And I DID LOVE THE FIC! Omg I loved it and I’m so hooked!! THAT CLIFFHANGER with reader working at the enemy corp is just!!! Ugh the angst!! And also awkward Aemond sending her the drinks and not knowing what to say, ahhhh 😭😭😭😭

Also YES YES YES he did! He’s scored all of Tim Burton’s movies except for Ed Wood and Sweeney Todd. Vibing feelings with a dark edge is a perfect description! He’s my goth grandpa 🖤 i’m thrilled that you liked what you heard so far! Have a lovely weekend dear! Hope you get lots of rest ❤️

So when Wilbur asks what ‘little bird’ means, Phil has a few options. He could lie. Maybe he did lie, though it seems unlikely. Techno has confirmed that he cares, so it is probably what he says it is. But there’s a pause before he answers. Because there’s a risk to explaining it. I think Phil might not be sure how Wilbur will react. There’s a difference between the progression of their relations in the background and having to adress it with spoken words.

There’s a difference between calling Wilbur ‘little bird’ knowing what it means and having to explain what it means so he knows too. Phil’s force to accept the weight of those words when he explains it. And Wilbur might not react well to them. Which would hurt if he does care and use the term of endearment with genuine affection. That’s the risk in telling him, but the alternative is continuing knowing that Wilbur isn’t sure if it’s an insult or not.

And that’s the first thing he addresses. He goes from saying that it’s not an insult, to saying that it’s a term of endearment, to essentially revealing that it’s for children, with the underlying meaning that he thinks of Wilbur as his kid. Every sentence is deliberate as he does so. He does not look at Wilbur, but he does pause. Maybe to see if there is a reaction. See how much he can reveal or if Wilbur will protest. Maybe even debating how much he wants to say himself.

Meanwhile, Wilbur has no energy to think about the implications. He doesn’t address the meaning because he’s not ready to deal with them, but he does not refuse the implications either. So to Phil that lack of refusal might feel like acceptance.

Instead, Wilbur starts talking about the things he was called back on Eldingvegr. He changes the subject, though it’s still relevant to the topic. I think the combination of Wilbur not denying the meaning of ‘little bird’ (he doesn’t even try to fight it or call it a manipulation tactic) + Phil gaining a better understanding of how shit Wilbur was treated (and this is only the tip of that particular iceberg) is what pushes him over the edge to put Wilbur in the personal wing and give him access to the dining room.

And then there’s the coat. I can’t remember what kind of clothes Phil and Techno wear, so I can’t compare if it’s closer to their design than it is to the normal clothes. I do know that the normal coats are for ambassadors. Everyone has the same, right? So Wilbur getting a different can't has a meaning. And it’s just been put in his closet, so he can choose to wear it or not. It probably signifies whatever new status he got without realising it cuz his mind is somewhere else entirely. Also, does Ranboo wear the same coat as the ambassadors or does he wear something different. I can’t remember.

I will say you're not necessarily wrong, but also there's more to it than just phil worrying about what wilbur's reaction was going to be. it's hard to hint at without outright saying it since we're not in phil's pov, but you're on the right track for sure

every sentence he said when explaining little bird was extremely deliberate. there was so much going on in phil's head there and tbh after answering this ask i might go and rewrite the scene in phil's pov just for my own personal enjoyment. who knows maybe one day after the fic is done i'll even post some phil pov scene rewrites :)

the thing was, if wilbur wanted to reject the implications, he'd just reject them outright. he doesn't want to think about what it means, but he didn't have a negative reaction to it. therefore... :)))

won't confirm what pushed phil over the edge to put wilbur in the personal wing, but that was definitely part of it. also, yes most of the ambassadors tend to wear similar teal or blue coats that tend to fall around the hips. that was the kind of coat wilbur was wearing before. phil wears a dark blue cloak with silver embroidery that's cut to expose his shoulders so his wings can stick out the back, along with a sleeveless button up shirt under the cloak. techno wears a thick, dark blue coat that falls to his calves that's belted at the waist and has similar silver embroidery to the embroidery on phil's cloak. ranboo doesn't wear the ambassador coat because he's not an ambassador. he wears a white blouse that has blue and purple embroidery along the sleeves.

Chapter Eighteen: The Storm

By the time the men make their way back from the small village at the foot of the mountains of Geonosis, you’ve tracked Gonk down again, and are running your hands through her small feathers.

And by the time you’ve left the harbor, Wrecker declares that your training must begin with sword combat.

“It is the basics after all.” He argues, when Echo and Tech exchange concerned looks.

“How, exactly, is that the basics?” Tech asks, folding his arms over his chest. “Evidently I should be in charge of this. We can start with basic hand to hand combat.” At that, Crosshair rolls his eyes, and you wonder how the orbs haven't taken up permanent residence at the back of his head. Behind him, Echo scoffs.

“Clearly none of you have ever trained someone to do anything.” He states. You like to think he’s looking better than he was this morning, but from the angle at which he stands, it’s more likely he’s just gotten used to hiding the pain.

“And where is this extensive teaching history from?” Crosshair pipes up.

“From being an ARC Trooper.” Echo fires back, letting the guilty silence from the rest of the batch speak for itself.

“What is an ARC trooper?” You ask, watching as Echo limps over to you, blaster in hand.

“Advanced Recon Commandos, abbreviated to ARC’s, were an elite variant of standard clone troopers.” Echo tells you like it’s second nature to him.

“Regs.” Crosshair says under his breath.

“Identifiable via Pauldrons and a Kama, ARC’s were usually utilized to handle situations, battles or missions, less suitable for a ‘regular’ clone.” Echo sounds like he’s reciting some kind of manual, which, you figure, he probably was. As he does this, he also takes the time to unload one of his blasters, switch on the safety, and check the barrel for any debris.

“That sounds like quite the force to be reckoned with.” You say, wondering for the first time, what Echo was like before the Techno Union.

“We were.” He says firmly, but solemnly. “Becoming an ARC Trooper was, well, it was rare to say the least.”

“Well, Domino Squad was known for its rarity. I'll give you that.” Tech adds, leaning against the railing of the ship, where they’ve decided training will be safest.

“Thanks.” Echo says, only a little sarcastically, before holding the blaster out to you for you to take.

“So are you Clone Force 99 or are you the Domino Squad?” You ask, hesitantly picking up the weapon. Crosshair lets out a laugh at that.

“Echo was a part of Domino Squad, the rest of us make up Clone Force 99. He joined the Bad Batch later.” Tech explains, Echo sees the confusion on your face.

“The Bad Batch is our unofficial designation, I got lumped with these guys after the Techno Union, when the rest of my Squad, including another ARC trooper, had been dead for some time.” He explains, “think of it like this, we are all brothers, but Domino Squad was made up of my twins… in a way.”

“I’m so sorry you lost them,” You tell him, and all of the clones blink at you, after all of your questions, you express your condolences first? Crosshair laughs again.

“You are something else aren't ya.” He says, putting a toothpick in his mouth and walking back to the main deck. You look to Tech for a response to his twin's action.

“People don’t mourn clones.” He tells you factually.

“I do.” You counter him without a second thought.

“You, little Aaray, are an enigma.” Echo responds.

Echo, as it turns out, is an amazing teacher. He starts by making you memorize how to safely handle a blaster. Things like, how to remove the charge casing, and how to turn the safety on and off. And by the time you can hit something consistently, the sun begins to set.

“Has anyone seen Hunter?” Tech asks, strolling up to you and Echo, waterskins in hand. He looks perplexed when you both say that you haven't seen the captain today.

“Is something wrong?” You cannot help but ask.

“According to my predictions there will be a storm tonight.” Tech says, turning around again, most likely to shout at Wrecker or Crosshair.

Tech does his best to ignore his two brothers as he passes them. Opting to head straight to the captains quarters, hell bent on forcing Hunter into utilizing the calming salts he picked up from the apothecary on Alderaan.

“Captain?” He talks instead of knocking. And he finds Hunter hunched over maps. Placing a bit of food in front of him, Tech crosses his arms.

“Yes?” Hunter asks when he sees the way the goggles stare down at him.

“What has kept you so occupied today?” Well, Tech was never one for sugar coating things anyways.

“Trying to find a quicker way to Mustafar.” Hunter tells him, running a hand through his hair, he almost shivers at the memory of your hands entangled in it.

“There isn’t one.” Tech tells him, annoyed that he didn’t simply ask and save himself the time. “Dare I ask why the sudden rush?”

“She’s a danger to us.” Hunter responds simply. Arching an eyebrow at Tech's thoughtful hum. “You disagree” He questions.

“I think that Aaray is in fact, beneficial to the crew.” He says, watching for Hunter’s reaction. “Hunter.” He proposes firmly. “Did something happen?”

“You’re dismissed.” Hunter states, knowing Tech can tell when anyone is lying, that karking knowledge-obsessed brain of his.

“There will be a storm tonight.” Tech tells him, not moving just yet.

“We will sail through it.” Hunter says gesturing to his door.

“It is safer for us to lay an anchor and wait it out.” Tech argues.

“We sail through, I'm not wasting time because some rain has made you skittish, soldier.” The military designation takes Tech aback some. He concludes that something most certainly happened between you and the sergeant, but he cannot know for certain what exactly took place.

You wake to the loudest thunderstorm of your life. Scared senseless not only from the noise but the way Gonk’s eyes bore into you from your spot on the floor. You scoop her up, standing in the middle of the room as Crosshair, and Tech struggle to get up with the vicious movement of the vessel. One particular wave sends you to your knees with the force the ship collides into it with.

“Where’s Wrecker!” You shout over the sound of the rain on wood. Your question answers itself when he pokes his head in from outside. Having wrenched the door open.

“Aha!” He chuckles, “This oughta be a good one!” before turning around to head back out into the storm. Tech dashes past you, already shouting about the sail ties.

“Stay. Here.” Crosshair tells you, standing surprisingly stable. Before also heading out into the storm. You look over to Echo, as one wave sends you both into the floor.

“Crosshair is right.” Echo says, before adding: “Stay. Here.” as he stands again, you don’t miss the way his metal leg slips on the grain of the wood.

“Echo…” You try, but he’s so determined, by the time you say his name he’s gone. Worry fills you immediately, and you know you need to stay put, that you’ll only get in their way. It is stupid to ignore them on this matter, but it does not stop you from putting Gonk in a hammock and making your way to the door that leads outside.

The sky is not as nearly dark as it should be. The lightning provides enough light to see, and while most of the oil lanterns have gone out, the few that are still alight cannot compare with nature's bright white streaks in the sky. Wrecker wrestles at the helm of the ship, using his strength to fight with the wheel and keep the ship as steady as possible. Tech and Crosshair are yanking one of the sail ties tighter, it clearly having slipped at some point. And yet again, the sergeant is nowhere to be found.

You wonder if that’s your fault.

A massive wave that was hidden by the darkness of the water hits the ship with such a force it sends everyone but Wrecker to the ground, and immediately soaks you through to your bones. Wiping the water off of your face you look see Tech and Crosshair trying to wrestle with a piece of rope that is too wet to get a good grip on. And when the wind picks up again and catches on the sail which is connected to the rope, neither Crosshair or Tech have a hope of keeping it at bay.

Echo however is on the floor of the vessel, both hands white knuckling the second piece of rope for the same sail. With both feet pushed against the wooden support, he sits as the last defense to total chaos.

You run to him without a second thought. Skidding where the rain has slicked the wood you make it to Echo just before another wave, from the other side this time, crashes into the ship.

A number of things happen in quick succession. Echo legs lose purchase on the wood, the wind picks up again, bringing the sail with it. The rope pulls itself through his frail hands no matter how hard Echo grips it, and as he lets go in pain, your hands fly out to catch the sail tie.

Through the pivot of the buckle that the rope is usually tied to, the wind pulls you into the support beam. But someone catches you before you can make devastating contact with the wood.

Hunter. Soaked to the bone, hair flat against his bandana and clothes sticking to his muscles, Hunter. He rips the rope from your hands and deftly ties it in place.

“Lay anchor!” He shouts to Tech and Crosshair, who comply with the order happily. And as the heavy iron makes contact on the ocean floor, the ship gives one final lurch before it stops moving. Hunter is dripping water from above you, but in your brief panic you grasped onto him nonetheless. The Sergeant steps away from you coldly, but it gives you enough room to move to check on Echo.

“He’s fine.” Hunter tells you, a hint of jealousy creeping through.

“He was almost killed.” You bite back at the monotone man. Hunter scoffs at that, and raises his eyebrows when you reel on him. “Do you not care? Look at him, look at your crew!”

“Echo is a solider-” he starts

“In what war!?” You scream over the sound of the rain hitting the wooden planks. Behind the sergeant you see Tech gingerly help Echo up, and even Crosshair moves to aid him. It’s a slight movement of his hands, and he stops when he hears you scream at Hunter. An unknown emotion on the sniper's face. “You are not at war anymore.” You tell him shakily.

“Yes. We are. Against that empire of yours, against-“ He’s so angry his voice is steady in that dangerous way, but it doesn’t stop you interrupting him again.

“You lost!” You’re crying but with the rain that’s soaked you through you don’t think he can tell. “And I am very sorry that you did, but you lost. And now it’s time to come home.” Hunter can see you trembling, they all can see you trembling.

“And what happens if I can’t? If I can’t come home until the mission is done?” No one but you heard him over the cracking sky.

“Nothing.” Rain pours down his back off of his hat when he looks at you. “Nothing happens, and nothing continues to happen, nothing fills the parts of you that are supposed to be your brothers, it takes hold and it grips tight. Until there’s nothing but that nothing. And there’s so much of it that it doesn’t even hurt anymore, there’s no room for anything but that nothingness. And when you drift away there’s so much nothingness and you’re so alone you don’t even realize that there’s people who will miss you.”

He takes precious steps towards you, until you’re close enough that he can reach out and push matted wet hair out of your face. You shake in his grasp. Unsure of what he will do next, his face impossible to read.

“Mesh’la I’m afraid I’m already too far gone. I think that my brothers deserve better, but I know that you deserve better.”

“We do not want better. We want you Hunter.”

“Mesh’la…” he starts tears falling in the rain, and even with his brothers watching even if the storm even when you’re so lost in emotion you should not be making brash actions like this, you pull pull him by his coat collar until you can hold his face, knock his hat off with your motions and give him such a bruising kiss he has no choice but to understand how much he means to you.

Apritello Express Evidences, part 1

Greetings, Apritello enthusiasts and attention! Here comes a loong post is written by totally nerd. You've been warned. Here we go.

The thing is that Apritello is a double-edged sword. The series shows us established friendship of these two, give us a lot of content with them. We can see development of relationship through interaction between the characters, their reaction about the situations they are put in. We can sense their synergy and bound through the show.

Donnie and April have incredible chemistry, and both options, brotp and otp seems fine to me.

But let me tell you why I ship them.

Apritello is the kind of pairings, which consists of small details, hints, that's hidden, but if you're sharp and attentive one, you will notice that. Apritello has a strong foundation: the best friends trope.

And from the very beginning, it works as planned.

When I start watching show, I could say that April and Donnie are best friends. It is worth noting that April is like an older sister to the other brothers, more of a sisterly figure than a friend, but with Donnie she behaves somewhat differently, namely, as best friend. Obviously, she sets him apart from his brothers, although girl tries to pay attention to all of them equally. And Donnie behaves as well.

Dee's battle shell designs for April needs as well as his. His shell transform into comfy spot for taking ride for April. Special and only for her. Because his bros are not supposed to use it (at least, he carries no one on his back), Donnie carries them by his techno-bó or his limbs.

This tiny detail shows his special treatment to her. April is a very, very special occasion to D. Don does care about her comfort, he accept the way she is. Donatello does not try to prevent her from participating in their affairs because he respects her decisions and is pleased that April can be shoulder to shoulder with him.

D is glad to be at her service.

Yeah, Dee's still playing cool, he has image to perform as tough and coolheaded guy. So Don doesn't show his intentions, interest and feeling to other people (he's tryin', but fails). Because his actions matter. They are always small, hidden, but meaningful.

April, in return, trusts Dee and depends on his tech, even knowing what his inventions are the opposite of success (usually).

Go on. Look at Donnie's facial expressions and body language when April is near.

Donnie seems more relaxed when she's around, happier. His emotional response is always different from his brothers ones.

Oh, and look, he wanted to be first to give her a high three.

They worry about each other. Look at Don. He does worry about her way more than his brothers. Yeah, they all want to protect her, but Donnie is more expressive.

Mayham has no particular sympathy for the brothers: he is afraid of Raph and behaves aggressively, he is indifferent to Leo and Mikey. Mayham immediately takes a liking to April. And then the details come back: he let Donnie touch his neck. The most vulnerable place for any living creation, for a second. Let him to study an important vial without any hesitation. Mayham depends on April trust for Donnie. When everything goes wrong for Don, the little doggie comes to his rescue, just as April would have done. Is the hint transparent enough?

We can see links with "A mystic library", wherе Donnie begins to look for solutions to save April's pet. Yes, this may seem like his next leap, "sit down, I'm smart, and now I'll solve all the problems, watch and learn," but Don says one phrase that opens up the veil of the second plan, what happens behind the scenes. "My illiteral colleagues and I was conducting a mustic research, with a life of the beloved pet, hanging in a bounce".

Strange wording, Donatello. Beloved pet? Not yours, as we can see. I can say, that everything in this sentence is true, but Donnie and Mayham has something more.

Continue. Next episode "Origami tsunami". Interactions are kept to a minimum, as April herself appears for a maximum of 5 minutes in the series itself. But devil is always in the details, dear friends.

When April was attacked and hung up, the only one who excitedly called out to her was Donny. Raph is furious that the thieves have escaped, Leo is frustrated that their plan has failed, and Mikey is worried about the salami.

Yeah, we didn't see his worries about her when she fell, because Donnie is on the mission and must be coolheaded turtle, and second, he's calm because now April life is safe and sound, out of the danger.

Dear passangers, Apritello Express arrives to the next station - episode "War and Pizza".

Bare facts:

1. April has Donnie's number on an emergency call.

2. "Anything for you"

3. Donnie is the reason why Alberto knows April's name.

No one calles April by her name (except for Donnie, while phone call, but Alberto wasn't nearby) it was "Captain O'Neil" by her chief, her badge seems blank. And yeah, you can say, that's just economy of budget, but I assure you: in the first episode we were shown the name of the delivery guy. The animators were not lazy bones and wrore "Stewart" on his badge. So if something isn't there, then it either shouldn't be there, or it really isn't, that's how this show works.

So, the reason explained in the episode. When Al has short circuit, parts of its new code flashed through its mind.

Info about April was in its memory, in its code. Alberto was a lame animatronic, and it seems somewhat outdated. I do really doubt about Alberto is being something smartass machine with complicated AI like Freddy's Pizza's ones. Quite questionable. Donatello fix Al's brain and wrote code, synchronize with his remote control. He put information about Cap O'Neil into animatronic's head. All this pictures are kind of massage: "You was created for birthday celebrations. You are machine, and there concepts of "life" and "birth". Do great party for this birthday kid and April won't be like this". Or, something like that.

So Alberto did - do a memorable party. And he do what his creator programmed him to do, but in his way.

4. In other words, Alberto was a tool to impress April. Don flaunts himself in front of her, stating how he did the upgrade while doing the upgrade, even though April is fully aware of his tech wizard. And his abilities supposed to help Cap O'Neil to finish the birthday party, so she will stay at her job, not fired. All thanks to Donnie and his upgrade Alberto. (Or not)

By the way, Donnie was the last to leave April in ruined "Alberto's". And it's not an isolated case, it is a pattern.

5. They understand each other without words.

First, Donny came at her at the speed of light. Second, she hadn't even finished speaking before Dee was taking Al apart. Third, their chaotic, well-coordinated work? Donnie was a distraction (although he wanted to just take a break from the battle or let Alberto's guard down, while April just knocked him out). Donnie and April are great team, and sometimes the DonniexApril team is much more precise, coordinated, and interdependent than the DonniexBrothers one.

D&A feel each other and anticipate each other's actions, their skills complement each other, creating an incredible synergy of their interaction. They act as a whole, while it's not always possible with his brothers, even though they're family and know each other the way more Donnie know April. And Dee hasn't trained with cap O'Neil.

Donatello didn't show his crush for April. No puppy, loving eyes, no lovey-dovey speeches, no planning schemes (at least, the audience don't see one) . He just want her attention, but stays cool and hidden. D is already her BFF, but still.

The same thing is claimed in 5B episode - Mascot Melee. Donnie has no problems with interaction with idol of his childhood - Atomic Lass. She'd put Leo in a stupor, but Donnie? He playfully challenges her to a dance duel. Yes, he adores this character, who may have become his measure of the attractiveness of others to Donatello, determined his type. But still, he's playing all cool and confident guy, he's really smooth with girls, so you will never see a puppy loving eyes from him. Only two things can betray him at this point: his voice and his body language. Remember, how's soft his voice became for Atomic Lass? Now I want you to remember the scene before, in turtle tank, when April sent guys a meme.

D is the first to respond to the message, despite the fact that Mikey is sitting closest to the screen. And the responding is a little too emotional for this situation, don't you think?

And this face of his. And he comments it. He likes her sense of humour.

The only difference between April and Atomic Lass is that the first one is a real girl who is a friend of their family, practically a member of it; and the other one is just a fictional character. It is easier to say about love for a fictional character, because it brings less problems for a teenager, especially when he is living with three brothers and a father who likes to tease as well. Donatello needs to be careful and outline the area of emotions he could show, so that he does not get hurt.

Now, dear passangers, we are returning to the previous episode, shall we?

Donnie presents to his brothers his precious Turtle tank, but she's gone, and it's really necessary to find out, who has taken her. And the first person to suspect is April.

Something is odd, don't you think? Yeah, Raphael has taken tyre for their "Midnight special", Leo claimed that Donnie's stuff is common, but they are D's beothers. It's natural for family to borrow(stole) stuff of each other. But this trend was not observed in April. She would never steal anything from Donnie, much less steal anything from him.

Actually, there is a good, logical and solid explanation here. April was number 1 in Donatello' suspect list, because he simply told her about Turtle tank. His brothers didn't know he were working at Moon buggy, except Mikey (Orange helps Dee get the vehicle from Repomantis), but they didn't know what exactly Donnie was working for. They didn't know he build the Turtle tank, he kept it a secret, to surprise his brothers. But April knew.

- Alright you! Where's our turtle tank?

- Hi, DONNIE. You have 9 seconds to say, why are you just broke my door.

- Someone's stole Donnie's turtle tank.

- Haha-ow, I see. As your best friend, you naturally suspect me.

- She gets it!

- Oh-ho, don't give me that! You're the only one could taken it!

The only one, because she knew about it.

As Splints said in this episode - "April is not a snitch"

Donatello does trust April and share with her both, sorrows and joys. But we are not shown this directly. We do not see the action itself, we do not see their calls and conversations on the phone late at night, we only see the consequence. We have no choice and take it as a given.

And the way she cooled him down? Fast, efficient, and Donnie seems to used to it. Moreover, she slapped everyone, but still, she throw Don out of window the last. However, why such a large time delay between him, being slapped and him, was throwing out of the window?

And my favourite scene. It was obvious that Donnie had taken the hardest hit (judging by his scream and the way he was putting his knuckles back in place). Don then claims that their inner circle is secure, Mikey tries to make amends for everyone, and April agrees, blowing them a kiss and closing the window. Cute and mean, isn't it? (You're cute! but mean! why do I always go for your type?! - ep. War and Pizza)

Nota bene: Donnie wouldn't apologize to April. Tough, not caring badass boy image, remember? Even to best friends. It's hard to him to express his feelings by using words, he cannot do it in proper way. But he has Mikey, who is so alike inner him. Michelangelo apologizes not only for himself, but for D mostly, because D starts suspected April.

Let's continue: the episode 8B: Hypno Part Deux

• Donnie put "Donnie's blocker" at April's phone to protect her.

It's common thing that your friend install some programs or apps on your device. But you will always ask your friend to do such a favour, and you will always know about what, when and where were installed on your phone.

And April didn't know Donnie had done something with her phone. It was a real surprise for her, to see blocker with "Donnie says no-no-no".

And you know, the interface of his app. The way he tell this current phrase. Donnie could put a huge banner "THE APP YOU WANT DOWNLOAD TO IS A REAL PIECE OF GARBAGE", as usual antiviruses do. But no, voice interface. It makes the app more personal and thoughtful. Because when Don made gifts for his brother, the program was voiced by a computer-generated female voice. Yes, the tank's interface is voiced by Donatello himself, but his voice sounds more like Google than the real Don. And, we talking about HIS BABEY, for a second. Bit still, the point remains.

• Also, Dale.

Dale is nerdy boy in purple, wow, how convenient for making a parallel with certain purple turtle.

But thing is, April doesn't like Dale. He's clingy, remora guy, who has a little obsession with April, even he's not harmful, still, such behaviour freaks girls (and not them only) out. Her classmate is usually tell her what April O'Neil is "his favourite person" and he loves her. There is little that is attractive about this behavior.

So, there is nothing new and unpredictable here that Dale was rejected. Because April didn't, doesn't and won't like him because of his lame personality and strange behaviour. Our girl in yellow do right thing: she clearly sets personal boundaries and does not allow any dubious personalities to invade them. So that's the reason she refuses to go on a date with him at the end. He's weird, obsessed, and she doesn't like him.

Donatello, as far as I concerned from different versions of TMNT, was always a little obsessive with some things. And, you know, putting a blocker inside your best friend's phone seems a little weird, because it's, in simple words, violation of privacy and personal space. And there are people who may regard this as stalking or sorta.

Yeah, for the most part, he gets away with it, not only because April's focus is in a different area, but also because their bond is stronger than April's with anyone else at school.

She has known him for years. Donnie is her best friend. I can't say that it's fine to her when Dee violates her personal space - her phone, but April can accept Donatello's personality in general.

And he does really have good intentions. Donnie installed this blocker, developed by himself only for one reason: to protect personal space April from fishy apps from nowhere, from being hacked and etc. Don knew her too well, how much she depends on stupid apps that will distract her. He also knew well, that he can't be with her 24/7 to fix problems with April's phone, so Dee put a part of himself to prevent any harm in the future.

And again, "Donnie's gifts"'s vibes. Donatello genuinely cared about April, because he wrote, coded, developed, designed, and dubbed it, turned on the database, and installed it all on April's phone. 'cause, you know, writing programs in general is a bit of a hassle, but writing an antivirus is much more difficult, because viruses are changing, and questionable applications are finding ways to bypass. Do you feel how much effort Dee put in for her?

But Donatello didn't mean to fix April, as he tried to do with his brothers. Purple turtle accepts this girl the way she is, and tries his best to play smoothly with April, by adjusting, not being passive aggressive jerk. It's his outstanding way to show his caring nature, soft side.

Remember, small but meaningful actions.

Maybe, Donnie also can foresee that April may be forced to download some suspicious program, but still, it work: he managed to prevent April being hypnotized, even if couldn't be physically with April at the this moment - Dee was working for Repo Mantis, building dog's paradise for Todd. That's why, by the way, Leo and Raph were dragged into this whole situation. Mayham would teleported literally anyone to help his hostess. Donnie just wasn't at the Lair at the moment.

full build and rambling under the cut!

Technoblade

ahhhhhhhh, technoblade. my beloved. this is the build that started it all. it's changed slightly over time, but the base has stayed the same. iconic.

barbarian was a given from the get-go. originally i chose juggernaut for him, because it's about moving people around the battlefield while staying immovable yourself, and if that isn't skywars/bedwars then i don't know what is. but eventually i decided on zealot. how could i not? blood for the blood god is his catchphrase for a reason. zealot is also about being unkillable, and while this specific build isn't high enough level for rage beyond death, it fits him perfectly. i also added in battlemaster to balance out the unrestrained fighting style of the barbarian class with technique and more in-battle options.

firbolg is one of my favourite dnd races, and it's one of the best suited to techno. a strength/carrying capacity increase? reclusive nature? animalistic traits? i shifted the animal focus from the more cow-styled to pig, but it works. honestly, if i didn't love pig techno so much, he could have ended up as a half orc! strength/constitution, intimidation, tusks... honestly, both races work incredibly well for him. it just so happens that i adore firbolgs. also, firbolgs are tall as FUCK and i just love the idea of techno towering over the rest of sbi at a solid 7'9". he's almost two whole feet taller than phil, it's amazing. firbolgs can also turn invisible! i just have this image of dream vanishing into darkness to try and get a good strike on techno, and techno just dropping a torch to find him, turning invisible himself and hitting dream from behind. i think those two spar a lot. firbolgs' natural magic also includes the disguise self spell, so human technoblade is absolutely a thing in this. just for one-hour periods.

okay, so i haven't really talked about ability scores in the other posts, but i just had to give techno low charisma. he's said it himself - social interactions are his worst situation. he needed something to balance him out and give him a flaw. i also gave him low-ish wisdom because he's not the best at noticing things, especially other people's intentions, and wisdom and charisma are the two abilities most commonly used when resisting charm-style effects. if techno can be forced into killing tubbo, then i feel like he'd absolutely be susceptible to those kind of things.

originally i only gave him the great weapon master feat, but i just had to add sentinel too! i love that feat a lot, and party composition wise, techno plays the role of defender in sbi. adding grappling strike in there too just adds to that. i went with a greatsword as his primary weapon because he mainly uses a sword in canon, and god damn do i love greatswords.

this ramble is alreally really long, but i just love techno a lot! design wise, i originally wanted to go with unarmoured defense and give him a sort of formalwear, but the design i tried ended up too similar to his canon one for my tastes. so i decided to try the big-cloak-and-armour route, and my brother had the brilliant idea of stylising the armour, which led to the eventual bronze half-plate with gold skeleton detailing. it's mostly a human skeleton, but i ended up going with pig bones for the feet area, just to add in the more animalistic style. i adore it so much. also, a tiny detail on the crown is that the red gems? they're shaped like human hearts. i just really like that little detail.

and, finally. the build that could have been. half-orc lycan bloodhunter. i think my build fits him a lot better, but i do really like the idea of techno's lycan form being a huge pigman. if my finalised build is pigman that shapeshifts into human-ish, the bloodhunter build is human-ish that shifts into pigman lmao. maybe i'll make that at some point. it would be fun.
