Miraculous Finale Review: Part 1 (Conformation)

I've been holding this one back for a long time, but at last, with Conformation and Recreation aired, season 5 has finally ended. Its been a journey, watching it from the first episode until now, going high and low, and we finally reached the grand finale.

Who am i kidding?

High and low? Get real. Everything is just going low and low that we met Hades and he asked what were we watching that he met us in his bathroom.

What in the absolute fuck did we just watch? This is just a whole bunch of retcon that makes every single episode for the last 4 seasons redundant, irrelevant, pointless, and stupid. It makes us question if the show is written by a bunch of toddlers who just learned the word "tremendous". Just...dude, you're lucky Disney don't own you, because this show gonna get butchered hard just for the writing skill, let alone the Bustier's kissing scene.

Speaking of Bustier, let's talk about the campaign for mayoral election. So they do have it. I mean, they showed us election in Season 1, but i thought that was the writers making a mistake, like making Chloe having humanity in early seasons. And speaking of Chloe, mind telling us why she becomes the mayor in previous episode? Oooh, that's right, plot convenience.

Second, and i shouldn't be surprised at this point after what happened to Alix and Luka, but holy bolognese they literally take Adrien out of the finale. The main character himself. The character whose name is on the title of the show. The one person who already has the front seat of the whole shenanigans, was written off and out of it. He's completely out out.

Can any of you who have Twitter do me a favor and ask That Guy just what in the absolute butt joke was he thinking for doing this? I know the risk is getting blocked by him, but just imagine getting blocked by a child who somehow got access to the internet.

I mean, that's literally what it is when dealing with That Guy. And I'll let others to make Adrien salt out of it, I have enough salt just from these two episodes.

Then we get to Marinette's dream sequence, where's she's the knight, saving the poor and fragile Princess Adrien. They're not even trying to pretend Adrien isn't a damsel in distress here. She panicked, worried that Adrien is in trouble, and wanted to go to the Agreste Mansion to ask if he's okay.

Hey, remember literally last episode Felix told Marinette Gabe is Monarch? Yeah, neither do the writers.

Anyway, there's the Perfect Alliance thingy, and man was it creepy, in a positive way (surprisingly). The negative way (unsurprisingly) is the inconsistency of it.

Plagg called Alya and did everything to get her attention to no avail because she's basically hypnotized by it, but somehow Mylene could get Rose and Ivan's attention when standing away from them? So can you or can you not get their attention? Go with one or don't go with either of them.

And then the Miraculized. Miraculizer? Whatevs, Walmart Squid Game. Just how did this happen? This is not akumatization, mind you. Akumatization requires the butterfly miraculous to empower a butterfly and send them to someone else. There's no butterfly being sent whatsoever. Unless, of course, another plot convenience that we all oh so familiar with.

And they have multiple miraculous powers. What happened to the whole "One ring, one power" system, huh? Another plot convenience?

More so, they have an innate ability to track down Ladybug and Chat Noir, and boy oh boy, was I smacking my head.

Hey, writers, what happened to the whole "Quantum Mask" rule BS? Thrown out the window seasons ago? Another plot convenience! Who woulda thunk?!

"Oh, but they have the quantum imprint added to them, that's how." Yeah, I ain't buying any of that shit. You have one rule that you make and you can't even stick with it.

And even worse, the whole "Track the heroes but not their civilian identity." Again? Really? How can you bend a rule to one side while bending it to another side? Get a grip, dammit.

Also also, this plan requires Gabe to akumatize himself and give everyone nightmare, which makes them feel negative emotion. Not gonna lie, it's a smart plan coming from someone who thinks turning a baby into a villain multiple times is a good idea, but the fact you never abuse this to get endless supply of akuma victim is beyond stupid. A familiar kind of stupid, but still, it's stupid.

And the ride continues.

Tomoe turned off all the Alliance rings and everyone became frantic because "Ladybug and Chat Noir kidnapped Adrien and Kagami". Like, folks, they're avatars. They're not real. They all know that the ones on the ring is not real. This is not like how Hoaxer did, because in her case, that's her power; to make everyone believe her BS. So unless everyone's brain cells suddenly went off to a vacation here, i ain't buying any of this. But of course, we're digging again.

And then Bugnoire.

Sigh.

Bug-fucking-noire.

While I must admit that the design looks cute and i love the black and green yoyo, it's nowhere near enough to calm me down.

You're saying we were robbed of having Adrien figuring out HM's identity, the angst of seeing him having to fight his own father and learning the condition of his mother, and the long awaited final fight between LB and CN vs HM, just so that Marinette could steal all the spotlights from Adrien and show how amazing she is, how she is "the best miraculous holder to ever exist" once again? Are they serious?

Well, they did make several episodes emphasizing Chloe as satan incarnate, so yeah, they're serious.

Hey, remember the "You and me against the world" line? Yknow, the one that means they're a team, one that's said at least once every season finale? One that gets the fandom crying in tears? Yeah, neither do the writers.

Dude, seriously, wtf is Adrien's purpose? Last season he's got sidelined so much his entire role is irrelevant. Now he's not even in the finale? What is he? A trophy to be won? A "perfect love interest"? Just delete his character altogether, my lord.

If I want a love interest that's being treated this badly, then I'll just have Marinette X Lila at this point, because they might as well just went all out for it and do all side dirty.

I have never seen any show, even the worst one i could think of, that deliberately take their main character out of the finale. Miraculous is surely something.

All in all, 2/10, and the points all go to the animators and VAs, especially the animators because my lord it is indeed looking beautiful. They throw so many things they've established out the window, I don't even know what this finale even stand on.

Aaaand that's all...is something i wish i could say. But no, we have Recreation. The ride to the abyss is not finished yet, and it only get worse. I'll give you some times to recover first because the next one is a whole essay.

I'm gonna be the odd person out and say it: I really like Felix as a character. I think he’s one of the only characters in the show to have a proper introduction that wasn’t pushed out in a single episode. Everything we learn about Felix, to me, feels genuine and realistic to meeting a manipulative person. I also think that's why Felix is hated as much as he is: because you’re not SUPPOSED to like him. Felix as a character is very very dynamic. He lies and he cheats and he does it all with a straight face. He continuously hurts people around him no matter his intentions. and yet, there’s a piece of him that still holds his morals. We saw a glimpse of it in Strike Back, and again in Emotion. He comes off as a very smart kid, and the writers have hoisted him up to be very ahead of everyone else. Everything he does is done with an intention in mind and it’s something his mother is aware of. They both helped introduce the rings, and the storyline of senti-monsters existing as living human children was made canonical THROUGH him.

There's still so much we don't know about Felix and his family, though. We know Amelie is an aristocrat, but through whom? Felix’s father, Colt, was an American billionaire and yet they all lived in London? How come? Both when and why were the Vanily twin rings created, and what’s the significance to THEM? (We have a general understanding of what they’re used for....but what do Amelie and Felix want it so badly?)

A lot of people are discounting a lot of what Felix said in emotion, too, but I personally think it’s very telling. Consider this: Gabriel Agreste has an ‘unconditional love’ for his wife (I see u Gabe, that is NOT love!) and watched her slowly die. Most days are spent isolating himself from everybody but his work staff. Soon, even they started to turn against him. He tried to do everything he could to protect his son, even to the point of abusing him because he was so blindsided by not just his wife’s ailment, but through a true commitment to the “rich and luxurious lifestyle” we see displayed in Emotion. There’s a reputation, AND an expectation that comes with it, and he TRULY believe’s it’s “the right thing” when in actuality, it isn’t. Gabriel has not just become numb to the reality of “being a normal person” but he’s more focused on bringing his wife back to him, and fixing his family. And even after all that? He’s still dying. He knows what he’s going to subject his son to. What he’s asking of Nathalie. He TRULY lost everything to get the miraculous he has. But Felix? Why would Felix say he’s lost everything? We know he lost his father, and we know he’s lost his morals, but a big piece of me is screaming that this is NOT what he meant. So what DID he mean? We know the connection of the Senti-Monsters and his desire to free them. We’re starting to understand that, in his own way, he’s ATTEMPTING to free Adrien and Kagami in the process. But what else could there be? My point in all of this is to say, there are SO MANY QUESTIONS LEFT UNANSWERED. So many that FEEL valuable to the plot of the show. The more we see of Felix, the more I reckon back to Timetagger episode where Gabriel found out he wasn’t going to be HawkMoth anymore. SO many people thought Lila, and even criticized how bad it would be because she was introduced too fast and set up so poorly.........so why NOT Felix?

He was introduced as an antagonist who wants, not to fulfill his own emotional needs (I.E, Chloe and Lila) but sheerly to get Ladybug and Chat Noir’s miraculous. The lines “I’m after a few jewels myself” could have easily been a red herring and wasn’t mentioning the rings at ALL, especially with the way Felix gave the rings back at the end of said episode. As mentioned previously, Felix’s desire to free Adrien would make sense as to why Felix would take on the role as HawkMoth. Felix wants to make his own wish, and he’s got nothing left to lose. Pairs nicely with Nathalie, doesn’t it?

You know, I wonder how Gabriel and Kagami would react if Adrien actually DID manage to break his amok and his Miraculous, erasing both himself and Felix from existence (I'm assuming Lila would only really care about the Miraculous being broken, and most everyone else would just plain be devastated).

Assuming that Ladybug didn't just murder everyone immediately with her powers going out of control, I've got some guesses.

Like, Kagami would be devastated, obviously. But I think that she'd probably wait to start on the grieving process until Lila and Gabriel were dead. Probably anyway? I'm not sure the exact way and thought process she'd have behind blaming Lila and Gabriel for Felix's and Adrien's deaths. I mean, they wouldn't have killed the two of them directly, but their actions would undeniably have led to Adrien taking the step he did.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure how she'd view Adrien's suicidal action, either. Like intellectually I don't think she'd blame him for Felix's death - he'd have been the cause, but it's not like he knew that what he was doing would kill him, and Adrien did it specifically while killing himself anyway - but emotionally I think part of her WOULD be angry at him. And it would make for some very mixed emotions that she'd know would be unfair, because really, Adrien's the one who's suffered the most throughout this.

I'd imagine that everyone else mourning Adrien, while Felix would only really be mourned by her and his mother, and maybe Chloe, would also give her quite the mix of emotions.

And then factoring in that she knows that the whole situation Adrien was in was partly due to Felix's actions, as well as inaction due to not wanting to take some better options in order to maintain his own pride...

She'd have a lot of complexity to work through. After she finished beating up and probably murdering Lila and Gabriel, anyway.

As for Gabriel, I'm just wondering whether he'd show regret and remorse for what he put Adrien through after his death. I mean, again, assuming he actually survived Marinette's and Kagami's wrath. The wrath of everyone who cared about Adrien, really (which is a lot of people). He kept on telling himself that this was ultimately gonna be good for Adrien, that it'd all be worth it... but Adrien was willing to kill himself to get away from him. I'm wondering whether that might be enough to finally get through to Gabriel that he fucked up, and lost the one other person he cared about, through his own actions. That it was his own fault. Whether he'd be wracked with guilt, or whether he'd still be in denial, believing that what he was doing was justified. Whether he'd look back at everything he put his son through, all the violation, all the control, all the misery, and finally, fully regret what he did.

adrien dying and taking felix with him would definitely lead to a kagami and marinette team up again. part of kagami's revenge would be for felix but also for adrien; yes part of her would be mad at him for killing himself and not getting help elsewhere, for breaking everybody's hearts. but like, also she'd know he wasn't to blame at all for being a hero. and yeah, she'd both be cut up over felix and mad at him for lending a hand to the whole tragedy in general. mixed emotions galore!

(omg, that part about everyone mourning adrien and only amelie, kagami, and maybe chloe mourning felix--that hit hard dude 😭 poor felix lol he deserves that)

and "adrien being willing to kill himself to get away from [gabe]" oof OOF that hurts too even though it's true. you just have a way of analyzing things that really point out how tragic the characters' situations are :D in regards to all of gabriel's guilt and shame...who's to say he's not already deeply feeling all of that? you're on the right train of thought though! i'm very glad you're beginning to examine gabe's inner demons and looking at how he would handle all of this :DDDDD

How smart was Marinette to have used the Mouse Miraculous during her battle with Kwamibuster to give each of her tiny clones the other miraculouses so she won’t fall ill since wearing too many causes major side effects. Monarch found this out the hard way! :P. Course, I always thought it was cuz she was younger and had more stability that’s why, so I’d like to think that too. Dear Mullo was safe with Fu then used carefully by Marinette and as guessed by fans, given to Mylene (who fits her mousy personality) who became Polymouse and helped save the day with her love for the environment (“Mega Leech”). Now, they’re stuck with the rest of the Kwamies with psycho Gabe. What’s he gonna do with them!? Make copies of himself!? Wait! That’s what happened last time. Or was that the Fox Miraculous?…….Yeah, that was the fox one. So now what!? Let’s find out:

*Multiplication-Monarch said he would attack “restlessly” until Ladybug and Cat Noir surrender their miraculouses……..Humph, look at that! It’s been months and his statement was just as bullsh*t as Marinette claiming she doesn’t love Adrien anymore. Again! You mean like when she said that in the New York special? Or when dealing with Mr.Pigeon for the 72th time!? Sure Marinette 🙄. Are Monarch and her shoveling the same sh*t pile? We’ll circle back on Monarchs words later, but maybe Marinette is “serious” this time. After all, it was her blind love to Adrien that she mistook Felix for him which had Felix double cross her and steal almost all the miraculouses to give to Gabe! Villain has a point where Monarch did say love was their downfall. Keep that in mind.

Adrien did the impossible, he finally told Gabe he doesn’t wanna model anymore! (party music plays)🎉👏👏👏🎉He finally listened to Marinettes words and went OOC to stick it to Felix that he can! (Shadow Moths Final Attack:Part 1-“Risk”). And guess what!? Gabe was okay with it!? (music screeches to a stop). Yeah! Just like that! He was like, “Okay, whatever, enjoy your freedom”. You mean to tell me all that built up resentment and annoyance of modeling this whole entire time in the show like the Ladybug and Cat Noir music video with him as Cat (“Frightningale”), the voice acting for the movie as Cat (“Animaestro”) and the “cologne” ad he was tricked into doing (“Mega Leech”) and Adrien now thinks it was just that simple!? Sounds too simple if you ask me. But, he’s a free man now and can spend the days relaxing even if the “threat of Paris” is at large! Although the crime fighting duo were keeping a lookout at his next “attack” all was good as gold as the sun was shining, kids were playing video games, doing yoga to chill and positivity was blooming.

Yup! Everyone in Paris lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when Ikari Gozen attacked. Ok! Back to the ushe, the dynamic duo stop her, but this time without Ryuko and then-HOLD UP! Did she just make copies of herself!? Using the Mouse Miraculous!? Don! Don! Don! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? WAIT! SHE DOESN’T HAVE THE MOUSE MIRACULOUS TO DO THAT!?😳 Don! Don! Don! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? Again! I. Am. So. Confused.

To clarify heres the answers to everything:Felix is hiding (well, this’ll make the Lilix (or was it Felila) shippers happy since both have the same idea of being in the dark) and his mom was covering for him when the heroes flew over to London to confront him on his betrayal. This is a gray area on their situation; On one hand, Felix did wrong by giving nearly all the miraculous to Gabe and his mom lying to the heroes, but on the other hand, we still don’t know if he did it for the right reasons to keep the concept of sentimonsters safe (like if he and Adrien are rumored to be so) and if his mom was just being either protective or oblivious about the situation. Is Felix even evil? Is he neutral? What’s he gonna do with the Peacock Miraculous!? Is he gonna tell Adrien about Gabe being Monarch!? Alix will be absent for a long time as she’s spending all her time time traveling and making sure no harm happens in the future. Phew! Least she’ll be safe from Monarch. Her dad even explained it so her friends won’t have to worry. Safe travels Bunnyx! (salutes). Guess there’s no miraculous rescue each ep cuz seriously, how the f**k are the duo gonna get every single one back if Monarch stays hidden!? Kagamies mother, Tomoe, is working with Gabe/Monarch! Don! Don! Don! That’s what happened! She’s the new Nathalie. Did Tomoe knew this whole time Gabe was the villain? Was she evil all along!? What does she get out of this!? Speaking of being the new Nat, she came back to check up on Adrien in secret. How ‘bout you just tell the poor kid his dads a psycho terrorist and save him!? It’s the reverse love square we’ve been dying for! Or not. We all know the routine:Marinette says she’s moving on from Adrien, her heart tells her no, Adrien grows closer to Marinette, but doesn’t realize it’s love, he continues to chase Ladybug, Blah! Blah! Blah! UGH! F**K THIS SH*T! I’m not getting into this again! It’s the rings! Those rings we saw in the promo pics for the season! Gabe turned the miraculouses into rings! Now he’s made this Siri-like rings, using either Adrien or Lila holograms, with Tomoe (who tested them out as Ikari Gozen) to sell to people so they’ll get akumatized and have the powers of which ever miraculous Monarch transmits to them! Don! Don! Don! Holy Sh*t! PROTEST THOSE RINGS! PROTEST THOSE RINGS! SOMEBODY GET MYLENE ON THIS! PROTEST THOSE RINGS! You know, eventually in the long run of the season, Marinette/Ladybug is gonna notice that’s how Monarch is using his new powers, so now comes the slow moving realization. Okay, we’ll see how many episodes that takes (waits nonchalantly).

3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)

Hmmmmmmmm, honestly? I don’t think I’ve had that issue yet? Sure there are scenes that I have written but have cut because I didn’t need them anymore or just didn’t like how it turned out, but I haven’t not written a scene because I didn’t want to do the setup and context for it.

18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.

Man, Peev and Beyond have so many different versions and dropped plot lines;

There’s a dropped plot line from Beyond where Cass and Eugene have to pretend to be Varian’s parents for some reason.

There’s another scrapped plotline that focused on the boys, but I recycled that one for Peev.

I was gonna have Varian be the reincarnation of Demanitus instead of going with Moonboy, I even started to set it up by having Vigor become attached to him right away because he recognized him.

In my Original draft for The House of Yesterday’s Tomorrow arc, I was gonna have Varian go check on Ruddiger only to discover the tree blocking their path had been cut, which would then result in Mathews knocking him out and leaving him out in the storm only to be found by Eugene and Lance when they go to see what’s taking him so long. He’d then have a nasty case of pneumonia which forced the gang to stay longer than they intended and Zhan TIri would try and manipulate him in his fevered state to take the Moonstone, but I couldn’t figure out how to end the arc with that in mind so I dropped it and stuck with Canon But Varian is there.

I was gonna do the Gothel Twist. I had it written out. More than once! I was gonna go with canon and have Cass be Gothel’s daughter, and then later I was this 👌 close to revealing that Eden was her daughter instead but chickened out. THat’s what my Tale of Two Sisters rewrite was gonna reveal.

I was gonna have Quirin die in the amber.

I made an entire AU where Eden takes Cass with her and she and Var grow up as brother and sister and am very much thinking of rewriting everything with this au in mind once I’m done with the current version. That’s all. For now. Trust me I will think of more I promise.

23. What’s the story idea you’ve had in your head for the longest?

I have two I came up with around the same time but uuuh;

Fairy Dance arc from SAO rewrite where the pervy guy has Kirito in a coma still to black mail Asuna into marrying him, but Asuna becomes a kick-ass fairy knight to save prince kitty toe from the bad mad and she gets to stab a pervet.

and also a Frozen/ML AU thing where Adrien and Felix are Anna and Elsa respectively and Marinette and Luka share the role of Kristoff and Gabe’s the bad guy. I actually wrote that one last year before I started Beyond but I’m too shy to post it and would probably end up rewriting it if I were gonna.

ML Season 3 Rewatch: Ladybug

Okay, last episode of the regular season - only the two part finale left after this!! I actually can’t believe how close to the end we are lol. I still feel like I JUST watched those episodes. This episode however, feels like a long time ago lol. I was on vacation in England when this one came out and really only watched it the one time, so I am very ready to watch it again within the context of everything else. This episode had all the plot if I remember correctly, and I’m sure everything is gonna hit so much harder after seeing everything that comes before it. I haven’t even seen this since Chat Blanc and Felix came out, so this should be fun!!

Adrien makes it for her, is happy about it, but then Plagg is mildly discouraging bc it’s a gift that isn’t cheese (🙄), and so Adrien wants a second opinion... So, he asks.. his father.

I wonder now that we know Gabe was previously aware of the birthday party if it'll make watching Befana any different now? Like, did he pick Marinette’s grandma specifically to akumatize or something? (i sorta doubt it, but I don’t remember the episode too well)

ooooooo i never noticed that shot of Lila staring down at Marinette’s birthday party before. that’s new to this episode right?? i don’t remember Lila showing up in Befana at all. that’s siiiiick, good set up for the rest of this ep

Lila is back on her bullshit. And by bullshit, I mean that goddamn bench she’s always sitting on when she gossips with the forty-year old man

wait..... i’m confused about timelines now. after we see Lila looking down at the birthday party, it cuts to her on the bench and Gabe is all mad about Marinette’s “influence” on Adrien. But why is he SUDDENLY mad?? the way the episode is set up makes it imply that this gabe/lila conversation happened soon after the birthday party. but that makes no sense, since lila and gabe don’t make their deal until Chameleon, which was the definitive first episode of this season, sooo it doesn’t line up. I mean, there’s a slightly different color filter used in the bench talking scene that I think is supposed to imply it’s the present, and NOT soon after the birthday party. But now I’m just confused as to why gabe is suddenly mad about Marinette again.

oh, hm, okay. so then it flashes back to Lila threatening Marinette, and then Lila doing the shit with the tests. Both those moments have like a vignette type filter on them, so even her planting the test shit is in the past. okay okay, bench scene takes place in the present. just, dont know why Gabe suddenly all worried about Marinette again. maybe hes just miffed that Lila was supposed to unknowingly be helping him akumatize Marinette and it’s taking a while idk

“You work too hard sir” Nathalie says immediately after Gabe gets done striking a deal with a fourteen year old that involves expelling another fourteen year old girl, who happens to be one of his sons best friends. And they call that “work.” Ya know, just another day at the Hawkmoth Inc. Offices. Tomorrow will be coffin cleaning day smh

“I’m good friends with the best manga publisher in Japan.” fuck you Lila. You don’t have any friends at all, let alone good friends

man i really wanna know why everyone thinks HM just suddenly unakumatized them all. i need to know how that discussion went down. shouldn’t LB and CN be curious too??? i guess it’d be hard to talk about it together since they can’t admit they were in the room it happened in - but still, they could talk to Tikki and Plagg respectively. i wanna hear that talk so baddd

as promised:

i’m back with a next to normal au........

first, a few things:

i’m calling this an au because like the story already exists but nothing technically makes this take place in another universe because canon can pick up right where this one ends

i saw a spoiler that said chloé’s mom’s name is audrey? so i’m going with that for her name (also because it’s weirdly similar to andre just like how dan/diana are rlly close)

and before anyone says anything, i did originally have this au with the agrestes but then changed it because it works better this way, and since felix doesn’t technically exist he can belong to whatever family i want him to

okay let’s get started

to all outward appearances, the bourgeois family is the envy of everyone. mr. bourgeois is the mayor, mrs. bourgeois runs the hotel, and chloé is the perfect politician’s daughter at twelve, wide-eyed and well-behaved.she doesn’t have a lot of friends, or at least, none that come over; when people at school ask she just tells them “my mom is sick” and they think she’s just being a snob so they stop trying

one morning chloé finds it’s one of what she calls her mom’s “fast days” because it’s 4am and her mom’s shaking her awake asking “i’m thinking about redecorating the dining room but do you like the mahogany or the maple better? and what about the curtains i readjusted them but can you come down and look i’m not sure. and when does marlena get in because i have some ideas for a new menu? and also she needs to order more bread because i made sandwiches do you want one?” audrey crashes hard a few hours later and andre

she takes private piano lessons at an expensive studio and practice runs late that day because she’s tired and keeps messing up. when she comes out the boy whose lessons are after hers has been waiting a while but he’s still pretty nice about it and he actually seems pretty excited for the chance to talk to someone else his age. over the next few weeks he starts showing up a few minutes earlier and she finds out his name’s adrien and they start talking and becoming friends.

a couple months later, audrey’s been going a lot better, and chloé invites adrien over for dinner. everything goes well until dessert. audrey tells adrien the cake is for her son’s birthday!! he’s turning 15!! adrien leans over to chloé and mutters “i didn’t know you had a brother” and she sighs and goes “i don’t”

felix is literally the perfect gabe dont fight this

things play out pretty much the same as in the play (this is getting pretty long so im not gonna go thru it point by point) except since chloé’s 12 her rebellion takes more the form of like, shoplifting and stuff instead of drugs

adrien tries to get her to stop because she keeps saying she does it because she doesn’t have any friends but that’s not true!! he’s her friend!! theyre best friends aren’t they? and he knows what it’s like to not be able to talk to your mom so she can talk to him!! but chloé’s like “yeah okay but your mom’s dead not crazy” and keeps trying to shut him down and kick him back out of her life but he’s Not having that

chloé’s parents try a bunch of different treatments for audrey but at the same time theyre trying to keep things quiet because of like. the media. and when audrey loses her memory the paparazzi start spreading all these rumors. andre lowkey takes over the hotel so it doesn’t fall apart to keep up appearances

chloé finally breaks down when her mom leaves and adrien’s like “it’s okay i promised i’d be here always it’s gonna be okay” and chloé and andre were never close so it’s a little awkward because they’re all each other’s got now and so theyre working on it but they dont really know where to start

Yesss let’s watch another episode! I’ve missed making these lol. I think I only watched Feast once, so I’m excited to see it again and refresh myself on all the sick lore we got in this one!

Okay this isn’t related to this episode but holy crap I haven’t been able to watch anything ML related for like two weeks cause I’ve been too busy, and just hearing the theme song put the BIGGEST smile on my face omg

i feel like we never talk about how good the accuracy of paris is in this show. like obviously its simplified and smoothed out etc, but this overhead shot of the entrance of the louvre is SO accurate

why exactly are adrien and jagged stone at the louvre for the unveiling of a supposedly random rock lol

lmaoo alya is like “listen idc if you wanna drool over adrien, just do it on your own time, okay?” i love their relationship

tbh i love that alya is doing more investigating into HM. i mean yeah it’s gonna make everything more complicated and probably dangerous, but tbh im here for it. also i just love how into it alya is

and the whole thing about old paintings being evidence of old miraculous users is such a fun idea. i know its technically only speculation for most of them, but still its so coooool

lmao and alix joking about a bunny miraculous. i know we saw this ep AFTER Timetagger, but the joke works just as well for me with this coming first. makes for good foreshadowing for seeing bunnyx in a few episodes.

okAY i know this has been talked about before, but these shots at the end where it cuts between tomoe, the bourgeois’s and gabe/nathalie makes me positive that the families are connected somehow through something that probably happened a while back. cant wait to learn more about it

Wow that episode felt really fast lol. TONS of references and foreshadowing in it. I love getting all of the new lore. Even rewatching it now I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the new information in it lol. Can’t wait until next season too when we can have a bit more light shed on certain things, and hopefully see some of those monks from the temple.
