Prompt 76, MK accidentally lets it slip to Pigsy that Monkey and Macaque are “seeing each other” as in not quite dating but been on a few “dates”...again. Pigsy who is on a low profile and hasn’t told MO who he really is, let’s it slip how he thinks “his eldest brother can do better” and MK is very confused.
Feel free to ignore!!!!! I’ve never asked for something like this before and if I did it wrong feel free to ignore it!
I may or may not have a soft spot for protective younger sibling type scenes in media so I had way too much fun writing this.
It could be worse. They could be dating. Wait? They are?!
"I don't understand what that damn monkey is thinking half the time," Pigsy said with a sigh, pinching the bridge of his snout with a groan. "Just... let Macaque on the ship, yeah, that totally isn't going to backfire. Not like he has ulterior motives at all, not like we just learned all the stuff he pulled over the last year including trapping three of us in a lantern to fight you and teach you some kind of lesson.”
Things had been tense on the drone ship for the last month. They’d barely begun on their journey before a certain immortal monkey managed to catch them off guard and chase them for multiple days under the White Bone Spirit’s influence.
It became apparent very quickly that she was using him to toy with them, a sort of gloating in her victory. Well, joke was on her. Sending him after them meant they were able to see just how far her influence and control actually reached and they were able to find a way to free him from that with more than a little force and some stolen artifacts.
The fact she hadn’t sent anyone else, however, was... concerning to say the least. If she wasn’t worried about losing her grip on Macaque, of all people, that did not bode well for them.
But for the moment that was neither here nor there. What mattered in the moment was that in the month since the immortal monkey had managed to be dragged onto their ship to recuperate Wukong had become far too comfortable with letting him have free reign over whatever he wanted to do on the ship (within reason).
And Pigsy didn’t like that. Aforementioned soul trapping in a lantern and trying to turn MK against his teacher and all that. Pigsy didn’t trust Six-Eared Macaque as far as he could throw him.
"It's been a month and nothing's happened yet?" MK offered not so helpfully, shrugging with an awkward nervous chuckle. “I mean... unless he’s playing a really long game he’d probably have done something by now, right?”
"Well... It could be worse," Pigsy admitted with a chuckle as he stretched out and started to cut up the ingredients for his lunch dish. "They could be dating."
MK made an awkward choking sound as he inhaled his water.
"Wait...?" Pigsy turned around slowly, leveling the young man with a half glare. He stared for a moment, watching as MK refused to meet his gaze. Looking left and right and literally anywhere not at Pigsy’s face. "THEY ARE!?"
"I didn't tell you!" MK shouted, jumping up and hiding behind the table and pointing at Pigsy dramatically. "I said nothing, you cannot pin this on me!"
"YOU KNEW AND YOU KEPT IT A SECRET!?" Pigsy yelped, tone not angry but loud enough to make MK freeze with wide worried eyes. The chef stopped, sighing again as he took in a calming breathe before continuing. "Ok... ok... MK, I ain't mad, being mad at you would be ridiculous. But exactly how long have you known?"
MK frowned, looking up at the ceiling in thought before a tentative but curious look passed over his face.
"...I can neither confirm nor deny that I caught them smooching in the med bay two weeks ago."
"TWO WEEKS!?"
“You didn’t hear it from me!” MK said, pointing at himself as he backed away with another nervous laugh. “I have plausible deniability, you figured it out on your own!”
“Of all the hard headed thick skulled bad decisions that stupid-” Pigsy mumbled to himself, burying his face in his hands as he held back a scream of frustration. “There are so many men. So many men! So many ex-enemies even! But no, he had to go and hook up with his actual ex that tried to take over his identity and kill his entire travel party!”
“To be fair he kinda seems to be changing for the be-wait...?” MK started to offer, watching at the chef paced around the kitchen. “How... do you know they used to date? I don’t think even Tang knows that.”
“He could have dated literally anyone else and he chose to get back with Macaque,” Pigsy said with another sigh, removing his hands from his face with a scowl. “I knew he was dense but elder brother can do so much better.”
“I’M. SORRY?” MK yelled, this time being the one to startle the other. “ELDER. BROTHER?”
Pigsy froze, eyes wide in horrified realization. “... you didn’t hear that.”
Pigsy ran out of the room, MK hot on his heels.
“PIGSY COME BACK YOU NEED TO EXPLAIN AND NOT MAKE RASH DECISIONS!”
Pigsy did not go back to the kitchen, instead heading straight to the rec room that he knew the two monkeys were spending most of their recent time in when not off alone who knows where (now he knows where). MK was following right behind, trying to both get an explanation out of him and to dissuade him from confronting the Monkey King and also looking generally very confused and concerned.
He didn’t succeed before the pig demon slammed the rec room door open.
"WUKONG!" Pigsy shouted from the doorway, startling the two immortal monkeys from whatever conversation they were engrossed in . "You. Me. Deck. Now."
"I-"
"NOW. ELDER BROTHER."
The facial journey through confusion to realization to horror on Sun Wukong's face was worth the delayed reaction shout of "WHAT DO YOU MEAN ELDER BROTHER!?" from the other immortal sitting next to the Monkey King.
“BAJIE!?” Wukong yelped.
“YOU’RE ZHU BAJIE!?” MK yelped in much the same tone.
“Oh fuck,” Macaque whispered under his breath.
“DECK!” Pigsy repeated.
“BAJIE WHAT THE FUCK!?” Wukong repeated himself.
“ZHU BAJIE!?” MK also repeated.
“How many other enemies did I piss off that are on this ship?” Macaque continued, seemingly resigned to his fate.
“YES I’M BAJIE STOP YELLING MY OWN NAME AT ME!”
Needless to say that conversation was the most incoherent non-productive mess they had on the ship in the last month. Until Sandy burst into the room and forced them all to talk it out peacefully.
Macaque did, in fact, learn how many old enemies he had on the ship when Sandy came clean that he was also Sha Wujing.
And Pigsy did not, in fact, manage to talk any sense into his elder brother given how much MK was yelling at him for keeping his identity a secret from him.
Wukong just sat with his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands wondering what in the actual hell his life had become.
(The next day, after a night of rest and a day talking to MK and apologizing and explaining everything, Pigsy caught the two immortal monkeys asleep cuddled on the couch of the rec room and decided that his elder brother could make his own decisions. And maybe MK had a point, given Macaque hadn’t done anything. Yet.
If he pulled a blanket over the two of them while they rested and they noticed no one said anything about it. And if Macaque snuck off the ship and there were, coincidentally, some rare ingredients for some dishes Pigsy missed making and a few scrapes and bruises on the immortal when he resurfaced... well, he didn’t say anything either. But he made it a point to have more mangoes and plums on hand.
Just in case.)

Gift for @ghostgirlvii-art
Lunch with friends
Sans checked the bag, everything was packed. Diapers, teething ring, bottles, change of clothes in case of a mess and lastly a starry blanket. Papyrus may give him grief about being lazy sometimes but when it came to his siblings he never joked around. He zipped the bag up and sat back down on the couch, Papyrus was still getting ready. He flopped his head back, already feeling sleep coming on...he would have succumbed to it if not for the tiny bundle crawling on to his lap.
Opening one eye socket, watching a tiny skeleton crawl over his legs, turning to try and push their way behind him. Chuckling as he sat forward letting them crawl behind him...well he thought they were going to crawl behind him instead they were now trying to climb on him now.
“Havin fun?” Sans chuckled, the infant cooed as their little hands gripped his shoulders...mostly his jacket.
“Awe why do I have to ‘shoulder the burden’ huh?”
Sans almost bursted out laughing when he heard Papyrus scream from upstairs, even though they weren’t in the same room Papyrus could tell when Sans told a pun.
“Sans I can hear you punning! Stop it now!” Papyrus stormed out of his room.
Choosing to wear a orange turtleneck sweater and black pressed jeans, Sans wasn’t too surprised. Sure he hadn’t worn those jeans in a while but since they were going to see Azul he wanted to look his best.
“C’mon bro I was just trying to get this monkey off my back.” Sans wince playfully when Papyrus let out a growl.
The puns and scolding only stopped when Lane started whining, gently tugging at Sans hoodie. He turned and pulled her back into his lap, he gave her a little peck on her forehead before standing up.
“Its ok Laney, we’re just playing.” Sans nuzzled her.
Papyrus sighed and grabbed the diaper bag, he reached and gently rubbed his sisters head. Giving a small giggle when she leaned into his touch, almost like a kitten would.
“Alright little sister lets get your coat on and we’ll be off!” Papyrus puffed his chest out and walked towards the coat rack, the only coat hanging up was a tiny little red one with flowers on it. Once her coat was on the three walked out and towards Azul’s home.
They didn’t have far to walk since she lived just up the way, despite that Lane was still squirming and fussing. As much as he tried Sans just couldn’t get her to calm down.
“Geez Lane you got a rash or something?”
Pap leaned forward to look at his sister, she was chewing on Sans hoodie. “I think she’s got a new tooth growing in, she’s chewing on your hood.”
“Gee thats great...” Sans groaned.
Before long they were at Azul’s house, they didn’t have to knock, the door flung open, Papyrus ready to embrace his love ....accept Lane was scooped up into Azul’s arms. Much to Pap’s disappointment.
“Laney! How you doing sweetie?!”
Pap couldn’t fault her, she had such a soft spot for children especially babies like his little sister. That and he got a nice big smooch on the mouth when she was done fawning over Lane.
“I’m glad you guys could come over, its nice having company over once in a while.” Azul smiled letting them inside.
“Thanks for inviting us.” Said Sans.
“Yes! Thank you very much, its also nice to get Lane out and about.” Said Papyrus setting the diaper bag by the couch.
“What you don’t let her out and play?” Azul teased. “Its not that, last time I took Lane with me to meet Undyne and....well lets just say things got a little...overwhelming for her.”
Papyrus winced recalling Lane’s first meeting with the captain of the royal guards, it wasn’t Undyne’s loud personality or anything that was a surprise...it was when they started sparing and Lane got scared...thinking Papyrus was going to get hurt.
“Oh yeah I heard about that, I’m surprised thats the only thing she got upset about...an speaking of which.” Azul looked at Lane who was squirming.
“She’s got a new tooth growing in so...” Sans trailed off a little, Azul smiled and without uttering a single word whisked Lane off into the kitchen, pulled open the fridge and pulled out a tiny jar.
“Whats that?” Pap asked.
“Its a teething salve my mom used when I was little, this’ll stop the irritation.” Taking a small amount on her finger she gingerly rubbed the salve on Lane’s budding teeth.
Almost instantly Lane stopped squirming and relaxed. Color the skeleton brothers impressed.
“I’ll make you guys a jar later, just rub it on any new tooth coming in at least once a day.” Azul smiled as she turned and started pulling out items from her cupboards. “Well now that problems taken care of its time we get down to cooking, we’re making stew.”
Pap didn’t have to hear anymore, already pulling out a large stock pot. Sans got out some spoons and started washing the veggies Azul had laid out, he got that done in less then a minute.
He noticed Azul was doing everything with one hand since she was still holding Lane, he reached to take her back...but Azul turned and with a devilish smirk replied...
“Nope, she’s mine now.”
Sans just stared...as Azul effortlessly chopped veggies with one hand with ease. All while holding Lane and from time to time pausing to give the little infant a playful raspberry on her cheek.
“Sans stop lazing about and help.” Pap scolded already getting the other ingredients out of the fridge.
Sans still couldn’t stop staring, still taken aback by the fact Azul was doing everything with one hand and suddenly being denied to take his sister back.
“Uh...you don’t find this strange?” Asked Sans, taking some ingredients from Papyrus.
“It’d be strange if you were actually being productive.” Replied Papyrus, Azul gave off a little ‘ooo’ for the solid burn.
“Want some ice for that burn Sansy?” Teased Azul.
Sans gave a tight, not so amused smile in her direction before getting back to the tasks at hand. The kitchen bustled with the three adults moving from one side of the room to the other, before long all the ingredients were in the large stock pot and was simmering on a low heat.
“Ok, we let this sit for at least half an hour then we can eat.” Azul smiled as she moved to the living room, the skeleton brothers followed.
Finally Azul relinquished Lane from her hold but only to play on the floor with some of the toys brought for her. Pap sat by Azul while Sans took the arm chair near the TV, the three started chatting about daily things. Occasionally pausing to watch Lane attempt to climb something such as Sans leg or even the couch the love birds were sitting on.
[thirty minutes later]
Sans gently pushed the highchair up to the table by him, Azul and Papyrus were setting the table and setting the bowls of soup out. Once done they sat down and started having lunch. Sans from time to time helped feed Lane.
The soup was delicious, a thick cheesy an milky broth loaded with vegetables. Azul loved this soup, it was just such a comfort dish full of nostalgia. Her mother would make this soup once in a while when Snowdin got colder at times or when she had a bad day at school.
A particular memory she loved was when she was little and invited Papyrus to her house for a birthday sleep over. The two of them sitting in their homemade pillow with stacks of their favorite books and bowls filled to the brim of this soup. They ate so much of it they were too full to eat any of the cake her mother had made, but that was ok they got to have the cake for breakfast the next day.
Papyrus happily spooned more of this delicious soup into his mouth, sure it wasn’t spaghetti but it was a major acception to his culinary rule. Azul tilted her head to watch Sans feed Lane, she smiled as Lane held on to Sans hand and was mimicking the motions.
“This is good.” Said Sans taking a moment to eat some of his soup.
“It’s delicious, absolutely delicious!” Pap exclaimed, simply enraptured in the taste.
Azul chuckled “I made plenty so take some home if you want, oh Sans careful there..”
Sans looked to see Lane about to stick her hand into her bowl but he was quick to catch her, not cause it would make a mess but because the soup was still very warm.
Lane whined at Sans but was pacified with another spoonful of soup.
“Good save there.” Azul chuckled as she ladled another helping of soup into her bowl.
“Yeah..heh she’s already finished two bowls aready and she still wants more, not just Azul but Lane too.” Sans smirked, Azul eyed him back before playfully throwing her napkin at him.
“Alright that was a decent comeback, but your right one thing Lanes got quite an appetite.” Said Azul.
“She’s a growing skeleton, she needs all the calcium and nutrients she needs to become as strong and as great as her older brother!” Papyrus again puffed out his chest, beaming with pride.
“Yeah with you two...I’m sure she’ll turn out perfect no matter what.”
The three adults shared a small chortle before returning to their food, everyone sitting together at one table, reminiscing, daydreaming and simply chatting about the past, present and future...all while enjoying a nice bowl...of warm soup.

Anyway, Enjoy!
P.s: I still feel like shit but felt bad that I kept promising this and didn’t post it.
Here it is so please enjoy and I will see you all with the other chapter sometime in the near future, hopefully.
===
Taron had been in London for two days before he decided that he needed to go home. He really missed his son and if anything, his time away gave him time to think about what he really wanted in life. He wanted to find someone to spend his life with but he now knew that he wasn’t ready. He felt like he needed more time to figure that area out. He needed more time with his son to watch him grow a little more before worrying about finding someone that fit into his and Mikey’s lives.
While Taron was at the Aberystwyth train station, he called his aunt to let her know that he was home early and that he wanted to surprise his son by picking him up from nursery. Of course he didn’t let on that he was going to pick Mikey up early and take him to the beach for some father son time.
Once everything was loaded into his car, Taron went over to his aunt’s cafe to pick up the house key and thank her for watching Mikey on such short notice.
“How was London? Get everything sorted?” Eve asked when Taron approached her.
“It was alright I guess. Filming starts a lot sooner than expected but I have full faith that Mikey will be taken care of while I’m away.” Taron said as he hugged his aunt.
“He’s a good boy. So much like Kate.” Eve complimented while hugging the man back.
“He really is. I see her in him everyday.” He replied with a sad smile.
Eve broke the hug and rested her hands on his cheeks.
“If you ever need help, you know that I’m here as well.” Eve said softly.
“Thank you so much for watching him for me. I really hope he was good for you.” The father said.
Eve nodded and smiled.
“He was a beautiful little one as always. You may not see it but you are doing a fabulous job of raising him my boy. Kate would be so proud.” The woman answered.
They spoke for a couple more minutes before Eve let him go and get settled before getting back into the father routine.
When Taron got home, he took all of his bags from the boot of the car and unlocked the front door.
“Pickles, I’m home.” Taron called as he hauled all of his bags through the door.
The cat heard all this and came running toward him meowing excitedly.
Taron chuckled when the orange feline began rubbing and pushing his body up against his leg in greeting.
“I missed you too you silly cucumber.” He said, picking up the cat and kissing his small head.
“Let’s get you some food and then I have to go and get Mikey.” Taron said, leaving his bags by the door.
Once the food had been consumed, Taron got some things together in a backpack including some coloured pens and a colouring book for Mikey. Once everything was done, Taron placed the bag into the wagon he always took when he and Mikey went to the beach.
Taron usually took the wagon because Mikey liked sitting in it as Taron pulled it behind him. Taron found it helpful because Mikey had little legs and complained about having to walk so far.
“Right, we’ll be back to change. Don’t trash the house please.” Taron spoke as he walked out the door and toward the car.
=
“Can I help you sir?” The school office receptionist asked, trying to keep her cool as she was a bit starstruck.
“I’m here to pick up my son. His name is Michael Egerton.” Taron replied warmly.
“Absolutely. If you wait just a second I’ll call down and let his teacher know that you are here to get him.” The woman replied with professionalism.
Taron nodded and waited like she said to do.
“She knows you’re on your way. I assumed that this is a surprise for him so I told her not to say anything.” She explained.
She never let on but when she found out that Taron Egerton’s son went to the school, she kind of fangirled as she loved everything Taron was in. Of course she was made aware of what Taron had been through not only from social media but also through different parents around the school.
“Thank you so much. Have a good afternoon.” Taron replied, walking out.
He shook his head and took a deep breath. He honestly thought that the woman behind the desk was going to start hyperventilating and freaking out that he was talking to her. He also knew that she was new to the school as he hadn’t seen her before now.
Taron made it to his son’s classroom and stopped to watch him for a couple minutes.
“Michael, why don’t you tell us what you drew in art today.” Mrs. Graves suggested.
Mikey stood up excitedly and held his picture close to his chest.
Taron stepped back a bit so that he could see Mikey but Mikey couldn’t see him.
“I drawed my mam and my dad acause I love them a lot.” Mikey explained as he showed his classmates his cutely drawn stick figures.
Jasmine put her hand up.
“Yes Jasmine?” The teacher asked.
“Mikey, why is there bread in your picture?” The girl asked curiously.
Mikey looked at his picture and giggled.
“That’s pickles. He’s my cat.” He said proudly.
“Well done Michael.” Mrs. Graves said sweetly. “You may sit down now.” She finished.
Mikey sat back in his spot next to Jasmine and waited to be excused so that he and Jasmine could go and have their lunch.
Eve had made sure to pack Mikey’s kinder egg from Jasmine in his lunch for a special dessert. The little boy was excited to have it and have his friend’s help with building whatever surprise was inside.
“You’ve all done really well in art today. Why don’t you go and put your pictures in your bags and grab your lunches.” The woman spoke.
All the kids got up and Taron watched as Mikey and Jasmine walked to their bags hand in hand.
Taron’s heart hurt. His little boy was growing up and Kate wasn’t here to see how much of a beautiful soul Mikey was becoming.
“Who is that?” Jasmine asked as she looked at Taron.
Mikey looked up and smiled.
“Daddy!” Mikey cheered, running toward his father for all he was worth.
Taron picked up his son and held him tightly.
“I missed you so much my darling boy.” Taron whispered.
“Missed you.” Mikey replied, kissing his father’s cheek.
“Want to go to the beach?” The father asked quietly.
Mikey nodded.
“Can I say bye to my friend?” The boy asked.
Taron put his son down and followed him to where Jasmine was waiting by their bags.
“Hi, I’m Jasmine.” The little girl said as she held her hand out for Taron to shake.
Taron smiled and shook her hand.
“Nice to meet you Jasmine. I’m Mr. Egerton.” Taron replied.
“Is Mikey going home now?” Jasmine asked, breaking the handshake.
“He is but he will be back tomorrow.” Taron answered.
Jasmine smiled and nodded.
“Bye Mikey.” The girl said as she hugged the little boy.
“Bye Jasmine.” Mikey replied, hugging her back.
Taron had to hold back his smile as he watched the scene in front of him.
“She’s pretty.” Taron whispered as he and Mikey walked out of the classroom hand in hand.
“Yeah.” Mikey said with a little giggle.
The father and son got home a few minutes later and got themselves changed and ready for the beach.
=
“Don’t you splash me.” Taron chuckled as Mikey tried to splash him.
Mikey ignored him and splashed his father.
“You cheeky little monkey.” Taron said with mock shock.
The little boy giggled and squealed when Taron scooped him up and held him upside down.
“Down.” Mikey said through his giggles.
“What do you say?” Taron asked.
“Please dad.” Mikey said as he reached for his father’s arm.
Taron flipped him around and held him close.
“I missed you buddy.” The father whispered before kissing Mikey’s damp hair.
“Missed you.” Mikey replied as he hooked his arm around Taron’s bicep and laid his head on Taron’s bare shoulder.
The father and son played in the water for a little bit longer before Mikey announced that he wanted to play in the sand.
“Take my Nemos off please?” Mikey asked as he tried to remove his floaties.
Tumblr media
“Here kiddo.” Taron said, taking Mikey’s arms and removing the devices.
“Thanks.” The little boy replied as he hugged his father.
“You’re welcome. Is it ok if I lay down? You can bury my legs or something.” Taron suggested.
“Really?” Mikey asked excitedly.
“Of course but my eyes will be open so please don’t wander off cause I will see you.” Taron explained.
Mikey nodded and got to work with burying his father’s legs.
A few minutes into Mikey essentially rubbing sand into the little hairs on Taron’s legs, Taron closed his eyes for a couple seconds.
Mikey slowly finished his job and started getting the sand off his hands but in the process, his little eyes landed on the line of darker hair under Taron’s navel.
The little boy looked between his somewhat sandy hands and Taron’s belly and decided that his father had sand on his belly. He tried to wipe it away but when it didn’t move, he pulled at it.
“Ow. What was that for?” Taron gasped as he quickly leaned on his arms.
“Sorry.” Mikey muttered as he pat the area he injured.
“You can’t do that bud. That really hurt.” Taron said gently.
Mikey nodded.
“What is it?” Mikey asked, looking up at Taron.
“It’s hair.” The father replied nonchalantly.
“Why?” Mikey asked, now wanting to know why it was there and what it was for.
“It’s just what happens to big boys.” Taron tried to explain in a way that Mikey would understand.
Mikey looked at his father with confusion but let it go, even though he felt kind of left out because in his mind, he was a big boy but didn’t have any.
=
After the boys had had enough, Taron put his shirt and got Mikey’s swim shorts on so that he could take off his rash guard and be comfortable when they went to Eve’s cafe for a post beach treat.

“What do you want, Fy nghariad?” Taron asked as he looked at the menu after sitting down at a table outside.
Mikey, who had his hooded towel around him to keep the sun off, was sitting and colouring in his book that Taron had packed for him.
Tumblr media
(Mikey’s towel)
“Why don’t I have any?” Mikey asked curiously.
“Why don’t you have any what?” Taron questioned in reply.
Mikey looked down at his little belly.
“I’m a big boy.” Mikey said, now looking at his colouring book sadly.
Taron felt bad for wording things the way that he did but thankfully, an idea had come to his mind.
The father set the menu down and went around to where his son was. He knelt down after taking a brown marker.
“Lean back for me.” Taron said, taking the lid of the pen off.
Mikey did as he was asked and started giggling when he saw what his father was doing.
“What do you think?” Taron asked as he looked at his handy work.
Mikey looked down at his belly and saw the fake hair that his father drew on him.
“I am a big boy.” Mikey beamed.
“You’re my big boy.” Taron replied as he wrapped his arms around his son in a bear hug.
Mikey’s arms went around Taron’s neck as he closed his eyes tight and enjoyed the feeling of finally being in his dad’s arms again.
“My beautiful big boy.” Taron whispered.

Words Fail: Self Para/Starter?
@imcooperanderson
Tumblr media
Jesse laughed softly at her question. “What was I like in High School? God, that takes me back.” He chuckled string his iced tea with his reusable straw. The sound of the ice clinking against the glass filled the air as his smile slowly vanished. He gave a small shrug and shook his head reflecting on his time at Carmel. “I… I wasn’t a nice guy. I had one goal and that was to be the best. Better than anyone else. I joined the best show choir in the country. I rose to the top of the ranks and we won. Year after year and year. We won four consecutive National Titles and it felt… Amazing. To know everyone in that audience is cheering for you? There’s no greater feeling. The rush of going onto stage to belt out those first notes, the way the heat touches your skin from the lights… It’s ecstasy.” He began softly. “You know what was the best? Coming home with that trophy. Showing my folks I did something that awesome. I guess I always felt like I had to prove I was better than who I was to them because I was never really theirs…” He didn’t meet her eye knowing that perhaps she might feel the same. “It was amazing entering school with that trophy. Everyone loved you.  Everyone wanted to take a photo with you and everyone was dying just to be close to you… I thought those times would never end.” Jesse admired his hard work back then, he was proud of almost everything he had done.
His thoughts turned to Rachel and how he had hurt her. How he had chosen a trophy over a relationship that actually made him feel something back then. He threw it all away for a fourth consecutive National Title. For a first trophy, sure but he had always regretted the actions of his former self. “Okay Sea Monkey, I’m going to go start dinner…” He sat patting her shoulder gently as he hid himself away in the kitchen,
Jesse looked out of the window of the kitchen and to the garage where Cooper was. Had he been doing that now? Was he still choosing a trophy over love? In his eyes their relationship had always started with a drunk kiss which evolved into so much more. Cooper was the reason Jesse knew he liked dudes. Cooper was the person to make him feel that way Rachel made him feel all those years ago. But there was no trophy this time, at least not one that was obvious to him.
He had noted his absence of late and his mind couldn’t help but wonder if Cooper did worry he didn’t like him. It was understandable, he was harsh, rash and critical. But that was how he had always been. Carmel demanded the best and there was no room for weakness. It was lessons he had carried with him, even into his adulthood. It had made him a great director and a fantastic actor willing to take on as much feedback as possible. He was tough but only because he cared.
Jesse turned on the oven and started to busy himself with the food as he reflected further. The fights they had, the arguments, the tears that they had both shed. They had both been through a lot together. The ups and downs, the ugly and the beautiful. Jesse had always found answers in Cooper, answers to questions he didn’t even know he had. He would have never moved back to LA, not after the first time around. The embarrassment of being kicked out of UCLA. The way people talked about him, like he was some kind of idiot, a kid who had a pretty face but nothing upstairs. But here he was. Living in a house and now coaching a new show choir. It was something that a few months ago he would have found absurd. In fact, he had only ever had hopes of living and dying in New York. It was his home but he had come to the realisation that his home wasn’t New York. It wasn’t Broadway and it certainly wasn’t their old apartment. It was Cooper.
Their family was expanding beyond anything he had ever dreamed. He had Moriah who he loved, of course. But now they had a teenage foster-daughter, a kid that needed a lot of love. Jesse admired that girl beyond anything he would care to admit, even to himself. Ramona would be in foster care still if the two of them hadn’t come along. They would have an empty room filled with meaningless trophies where a bed currently lay.
It was nice to feel loved. To wake up every morning next to someone and see their face, just knowing that they trusted and loved you was a blessing. Waking up next to Cooper was the best part of his day because he was still by his side. They had both gambled in this life but his best risk had always been that brown eyed boy. Perhaps he had been too harsh in recent times, perhaps the quarantine was to blame or perhaps it was time to let down those walls. Cooper was the man he had decided to propose to. The man who he wanted to give marriage a try with again. He trusted him, didn’t he?
Of course he did and he knew Cooper trusted him in return. While he had never been good at being emotionally supportive, he appreciated the trust that Cooper had put into him. Perhaps it was time to lower the guard. Jesse opened the fridge and poured himself a glass of wine. He swirled the liquid in the glass and quickly downed it. Would it kill him to be honest with Cooper?
Jesse lowered the oven’s heat and left the house making his way to the garage. He was about to knock and enter when he stopped himself. Did Cooper even want him here? The two had seemed quiet and indifferent with each other of late and he wasn’t sure why. All he knew was that things had changed.
He took a step back and looked at the door in front of him contemplating knocking and telling him that he loved him. Deciding the best way to tell him how much he truly loved him. More than anything. But that voice was being pulled down back into his throat by the tiny hands of the devils from years long ago.
Jesse ran a hand through his hair as the words ‘man up St James’ flooded his head. ‘Pull yourself together. We can’t win this with you being emotional.’ He brushed a tear from his eyes and kicked a nearby bush cursing under his breath. Why couldn’t he do this? Did he even need to do this or was it all in his head?
That was when an idea struck him. Jesse rushed back into the house and found Ramona still on the sofa where he had left her. “Ramona, I need your help.” He grinned happily in his checkered navy shirt.
*
It took a lot of doing to keep Cooper out of the house, a lot of convincing and a lot of distraction, but the two had managed to do it. Jesse had turned the living room into their own personal fort filled with all the nerdy shit he loved. There was printed posters of Star Wars on the walls, black curtains with cut out stars placed around the blanket walls of the fort and candles safely lit to provide that natural glow of life within the fort. He sprayed soft vanilla around the room and selected Disney + on the TV apps. He loaded up the first Star Wars movie and finally, he headed out to Cooper.
Jesse knocked and only when he was told to enter did he do so. “Okay, so here’s the thing: Doofus. I love you and I know you’re not an idiot. Myself and Sea Monkey have deliberately been keeping you out of the house today and that’s because I have a surprise for you.
He took his hands softly in his and led him into the living room to show off their handy work. The Star Wars theme was playing in the background courtesy of their digital assistant and Ramona stood proudly by their homely fort wearing her hair in Leia’s signature buns.
“You tell anyone I did this and I’ll kick you in the nads.” She teased lightly as she admired their handy work on her hair.
Jesse took both of Cooper’s hands in his and looked at him. “I know I’m hard on you sometimes and I’m sorry. I think I’ve been a little too mean on you recently and I’m sorry… God, this is killing me to say that word so many times in such a short time…” He paused. “I’m sorry for that comment. But right now, I want you to forget about anything other than Luke Skywalker finding out he’s a jedi. Going to fight Darth Vadar on the Death Star to rescue Princess Leia and meet Han Solo and the carpet. I haven’t been honest with you Cooper. I watched all those dumb movies the day you told me that you were cast in Mandalorian. I support you in everything you do and I want for you, right now to join us in a family film night watching the first movie. Well, technically we’ll be watching the fourth movie in the series but the first to be released into the world. Did you know originally it was going to be called Blue Harvest and that it was only ever called Star Wars not Star Wars: A New Hope?” He clicked his tongue proudly. “That’s right, I did my research.” He turned to Ramona mouthing; “Did I get that right?!” Only for her to shrug.
“Pizza is on the way, I made sure to order your favourite, plus there’s a cold bottle in the fridge with your name on it. We can’t go out for date night so baby, I brought date night to you. Will you be my date?” He asked innocently.

The Grind- Chapter 3
Tonight was the night. The big night. Our night. The tell-tale truth for Colton Ritter, and his chances against my stuffy, guarded, heart of glass?
We’d made text plans earlier in the week:
C: What’s your Friday night lookin’ like, Ms. Liv?
L: Take out & a bubble bath at this rate, Mr. Ritter. Unless a better off comes along.
C: Well, I was gonna suggest dinner. But, that bubble bath ain’t sounding like a terrible idea...
L: I think a cold shower is what you need!
C: Ok, ok. I’ll settle for dinner. This time... Pick you up at 7:30 on Friday. Your place.
L: it’s a date!
C: I’ll be on my best behavior.
I hurried around my now trashed apartment, stemming from the embarrassing amount of time I’d spent rummaging for an outfit that suited me. Colton didn’t seem like the shallow type who preferred a woman who spent over half her life decked in stilettos & a full contoured face. So, I kept it simple, and a bit edgy. Felling as if it suited his gruff, and tough mantra.  Dark skinny jeans ragged at the knees that hugged my athletic bottom flatteringly, and a slinky round neck white t-shirt, finished off with feminine cut black leather jacket. I tussled my hair with relaxed waves, & topped my dry lips off with a swipe of pink lemonade colored gloss. I carefully gathered some essentials such as keys, phone, and tube of replacement lips gloss, and stuffed them neatly into a small clutch. I felt the un-used can of pepper spray tucked into the pouch wouldn’t be necessary for tonight’s outing, so I left it behind to make room for a pack of minty gum. Then, three delayed knocks at the door.
My stammering heart leaped into my drying throat as a shower of nerves rained over me. That feeling that takes you over when nerves, and anticipation collide with the unexpected, and intriguing. I opened the door to find his bulky form so cunningly rested upon the doorway, a toothpick pointed out of his always beautiful mouth. The splintered tip of wood he bounced, and situated with his tongue was more dangerous than a loaded six-gun. The innocent peck on the check he greeted me with took me by surprise as he leaned in placing his hand gently on the back of my head to guide me into him.
“Good to see ya’, beautiful,” his hot breath unleashed into the crook of my neck near my ear, and I could swear his lips may have grazed my sapphire earrings.
Any shyness left in my body dissipated as I instinctively took his slightly whiskered face into my hands, turning his mouth to meet mine, needing another fix of his touch. He let out a breathy hum of satisfaction, and a dumbfounded laugh giving into my kiss.
“And hello to you, too” I reservedly cooed, taken aback by the foreign boldness I had just displayed.
Stepping out into the striking night air, he positioned his hand slightly on my lower back. He’d slid it under the thickness of my jacket, and I could feel the heated Fahrenheit of his smooth skin nearly sweltering through my shirt.  He escorted me down the stairs, and my eyes raised to see what I feared was my chariot for the evening. A matte, jet black motorcycle parked at the end of the stairwell, resting on its’ kickstand beside the painted curb. It wasn’t the “mid-life crisis” saddle bagged type with the wide seat on the back, lined with padded armrests. This was the “dangerous, sleek, sex on wheels” edition, fit for a king.  My usual reserved demeanor awoken inside fighting to keep me from getting on the two-wheeled taxi with him, but, he had stirred something in my being during the time I’d known him. Things I’d usually view as reckless, or foolish, now seemed electrifying, and all the more naughtily seducing.
He glided over to his bike, lifting a helmet into each hand, gesturing me over. “Hope you don’t mind. I know it’s cold out, but with the snow finally melted for the time bein’, I’d thought we’d take the bike & enjoy the night air a lil’ bit.”
I’d never ridden before, but I wanted nothing more in that moment than to straddle the soft leathered seat & swaddle my arms around his muscular back.
“As long as you don’t mind me squeezing the near life out of you the whole way, I’m game,” I grinned.
The idea was riveting, but I couldn’t deny there was a shred of fear on the side. I shook loose the visions of road-rash and semi-truck collusions, and readied to toss my leg over the seat. He walked over to me positioning the scuffed silver helmet onto my head, carefully fastening the strap under my delicate chin, then I felt his heavy hand pat my shielded noggin.
“All set, girl. Gotta protect that pretty little head a’ yours,” he reassured, probably sensing some slight unease written in my reluctant, shifty smile.
He slung his left leg over the iron horse, and I followed suit. Settling myself tightly against his statuesque torso, I let my fingers wind tightly into the gray thermal shirt he wore under his heavy lined Carhartt coat. I could feel the carved core ripple as he reached to turn the key. Before he fired the rumbling, smoky engine, he turned over his shoulder to address me from his helmet-pooched lips.
“You look amazing, by the way, Liv.” He started the bike & a thunder worked up my body as we disappeared into the chilled night.
I was taken aback when we’d wheeled up to the sushi spot I had dotted over in a conversation we had week or so ago. I hadn’t pegged him for a guy who enjoyed raw fish, but he was definitely the type to pull out all the stops for the lady in his life. As if I had any skeptics on whether he was genuinely interested in me to begin with, I was fairly certain in that moment that Colton Ritter was about to become an incurable addiction in my life whether I liked it or not.
He, of course, left me to do the ordering for the two of us. I played it safe with a cooked roll, & an order of veggies & pot stickers on the side, concluding his eating habits probably didn’t consist of much eel, or wasabi. We spent a vast part of dinner laughing over the waitress of ours that had a very obvious soft spot for Colt, and his dimples. She’d barely even made eye contact with me one time through the meal in its entirety, & managed to spill his drink when she bent over unnecessarily to display her full chest to him while taking our order.
“So, this is what it’s like to be out with the guy who every girl in the room wants to be under.” His face cast a light pink shadow at the compliment, taking a long swig of his beverage to dismiss my observation. But, he had to know it was true. He had to know that every room he entered became his platform, and the crowd took notice of him within seconds. The perplexing shade of his eyes, the way his soft brown hair rested easily across his forehead. The way his stocky shoulders slumped forward a bit with his bowlegged sway. His undeniable command captivated the attention of all eyes in the room, whether he wanted it or not.
“Right now, I only care about the opinion of one girl in the room,” his gaze shot up.
“And clearly you’ve impressed her. She was so in awe of you she spilled water all over our table.” I teased him referring to the over-the-top server who’d been taking care of us, knowing full well his eyes only desired the vision of me.
“Look around this room, Liv. Ain’t a girl in here holdin’ a candle to you.” His armed slid across the table reaching for my now furiously sweating palm.
For a second, I wanted to crawl under the table and fall into a giddy, squealing fit basking in his endless praises. However, the sensible side of my brain alarmed me that those were the words of a man who had spoken to (among other things) a vast history of women in his twenty-something years. Was being another notch enough for me?
“Enough about me, mister. Tell me something about you. Something not related to cage matches, and meal plans,” I changed the subject and stirred the melting ice in my glass.
“Damn, girl. Ya’ can’t put me on the spot that way. Umm.. lemme think.. Well, I work at bike repair shop down on 8th street. I ain’t there much with trainin’ all the time. But, Bruce, the owner, is real cool about lettin’ me get some hours in when I’m hurting for cash.”
You, all greased up, sweating, in a ripped up jumpsuit, crawling under a motorcycle with a wrench in your hand? I made a mental note to find 8th street, and this motorcycle shop first thing tomorrow morning.
“You fit the bill for grease monkey, I guess. You any good with cars? I could use an oil change,” I kiddingly suggested.
“I’ll fix you right up, darlin. Free of charge,” the man winked with a single nod of his head.
“Is there anything you don’t do? The male population thanks you for making them all look like chumps.”
“There’s plenty I can’t do actually. And plenty more that I am good at… But you’ll have to hang around for that. I can’t go givin’ away all my secrets now, little girl.” It seemed more like a warning the way he said it. One I wanted to break, no doubt. But a warning nonetheless.
“C’mon, got one more place I wanna take ya’ if you’re up for it.”
Take me to the edge of the earth, Colton Ritter.
We’d driven about 15 minutes from the restaurant, the evening air had cooled drastically as time passed. He stopped the bike in somewhat of a slummy part of town, little traffic, sort of dingy, & parked the bike in front of a dark glass front building. The sign read “Mac’s”, with faded red letters, a set of what looked like boxing gloves hanging from the apostrophe.
“Here’s where the magic happens” he mocked, his crooked grin on full display. I hopped off the bike & he instantly swiped my hand into his, steering me to the door. He clearly spent a lot of time here, judging by the key he used to unlock the paned glass. It seemed he may very well have had the keys to the entire city, and potentially the keys to my bedroom if he played his cards right.
I stood cautiously at the entrance as he briskly stepped across the room the flick the light switches. It was dim even with the countless bulbs, despite being plastered entirely in hospital white paint. A tattered, clearly well used, ring stood centered in the room, stained with the burnt red remnants leftover from many a bloody battle. Backed into the corner hanging from the saggy ceiling, two black Everlast punching bags, secured by clinking chains. I was so distracted in scanning the surroundings, that I hadn’t detected Colton standing next to the bags, shirt discarded onto the cracked, tile floor.
There he stood in all his exquisite glory. Tattoos spread across his very well-defined stomach & chest, and illustrated story I wanted to uncover. His tattered jeans the only lone cloth remaining on his form, only hanging on by the loose buckling is his belt. His once perfectly placed hair now slightly disheveled from pulling the shirt over his head.
“This is where I spend most of my pathetic life, I wanted ya’ to see it. Figured it may help with your article.”
Throughout the growing amount of time we were spending together, the article had honestly been nearly forgotten altogether. I didn’t see him as a work opportunity, or a career advancement any longer, but instead a viscously charming human, who I could never tire of.
“Right, since this is where, how did you put it? The magic happens.” He began delivering bare handed blows to the punching bag, slowly, clearly pacing himself. Maintain composure, Liv. My knees weakened in admiring him from a distance, and I looked to my feet promptly, needing a palate cleanse from his overdosing sex-appeal. The minimal distance became more than I could stand any longer. I closed the gap between us little by little, but with clear purpose, marching one foot in front of the other toward my prize.  The speed of his punches had accelerated already, causing a light sheen of sweat to glimmer off him, beads trailing over the ripples of his abs like a rocky, Hawaiian waterfall. He halted realizing my closeness, & wiped the perspiration from his furrowed brow.
“Sorry, I’m an ass. This was a bad idea. I dunno why I thought I should bring you here. This is a date, not a session. Let’s go, I’ll get you home.” He leaned over to grab his shirt from the floor.
“Actually, I’m good. Take as long as you need.” I said tucking my sandy locks behind my ear. The look of desire must not have been disguised from my face, because he stood straight & stalked toward me. His eyes looking at me almost like that of starving predator to a vulnerable prey. His hands reached me before his mouth, yanking my womanly, yet, toned hips into him. It wasn’t a gentle, friendly kiss, but rather zealous & hot, no question it’s purpose. He was feasting on my lips like a starved animal.
Tumblr media
Hands flattened onto his scruffy chest, I slightly sunk my nails into him, feeling as if only peeling into his flesh would relieve the pent up pressure between my thighs. My hair was now a tangled knotty mess thanks to him, and my reapplied gloss smeared stickily between our mouths. Suddenly I felt him paw my back side, and within a millisecond I was off the ground. Legs constricted around him, and one of his hands pacing its way to my modest chest. We were moving now, mouths never detaching, making our way to the unoccupied platform in the room. He slid me seductively down his body for a mere second, only to climb through the black ropes onto the mat, holding them gapped for me to join. His manly hands carefully slipped under the sleeves of my jacket, pushing it persuasively off my shoulders, and it’s smooth leather padded weightlessly to the floor.  He was drinking in the sight of me, almost as if he was taking inventory. Memorizing every curve, every dip, every freckle. He teased one finger down my now goosebumped arm, marking his territory with his natural born pheromone. He took a few painfully slow steps into me, closing the gap, our hot centers breathing into each other. I elevated my hands to his unearthly toned arms, and let myself gently outline the dark inkings sprinkled over him. The kiss that he brought to me next, would be the ringing bell to start off the main event.
A metallic taste of blood seeped onto my tongue stemming from my bottom lip he had taken the liberty of nipping between his teeth, and I gasped in sheer satisfaction at the foreign act. I wasn’t a virgin, but I certainly wouldn’t have categorized myself as experienced by any means. I hadn’t been with anyone since moving from Westfield, leaving a semi-steady boyfriend behind. Levi, being the guy I had shared my virginity with, wasn’t the type who knew the needs of his lover per say, but honestly what 17 year old boy did. But then, the second Colton’s hands fondled my sexually inexperienced body, I knew I was in for the ride of a lifetime. His lips had strayed from my panting mouth allowing me to suck in a much-needed breath, then trailed my neck, and were now headed anxiously towards my ear. I felt a slimy suckle on the lobe, causing my legs to nearly collapsing lifelessly beneath me. God, I’m going to soak myself before he even begins at this rate. Colton sensed my frail body giving way, and wrapped his arms around to the lower of my back to steady me.
“Stop me if I’m going too far, babe.” His polite seeking of my permission to continue his pursuit flattered me. His eyes searched mine wonderingly for the go ahead, but without giving a worded approval, I stretched my hand out opening the cold button of his jeans. He gauged my bold reaction, then dropped to his knees, eyes level with my sex. The snug, now nearly wet jeans of mine were being tugged seductively over the curve of my ass, only to be situated right above my knocking knees. He rubbed his nose to the bow delicately placed on the front of my black lace underwear, gifting a gentle kiss treacherously close to the second set of aching lips on my body. The pounding of my heartbeat I heard thudding in my ears was softened by the passing of a honking car horn as the clearly unlocked door of the gym whooshed open.
“What the HELL?” The withering, slightly feeble shadow of a hatted man, stood motionless just a few feet from us.
“Shit, Mac! What are you doin’ here this late, ya’ old bag?!” Colton wrapped a protective arm around me, sending me immediately like a flash behind his colossal form, mirroring that of a human shield to ensure the interrupting man couldn’t ogle my half naked body. Thankfully, this Mac character had turned a blinded eye and was now facing opposite of us.
“I uh, I’m sorry for intruding… Wait, the hell I am, I own this damn place! And I don’t believe this what I had in mind when I copied that key for you, Ritter.”
“I hear ya’, I hear ya’. This is Liv, by the way.” I peeped timidly around the arm on my date who for some reason felt like now was the appropriate time to introduce me to his friend.
“Um, hello.. Nice to meet you.”
“Liv, that’s Mac, he owns the place as he so rudely mentioned. He’s my trainer. And I think he was just leaving…..”
The shirtless fighter began to chuckle aloud at the messy situation, and not soon enough, Mac had finally left us be. Instructing we make sure to lock up, and advised me not to let the “smug little shit” keep me out too late. The heat of the interrupted moment easily rose in sensual temperature dangerously fast as Mac’s headlights became bleak in the distance.
Colotn knelt down again the second we were alone to kindle the fire that was flickering from moments ago.
“Now. Where was I?” Two pointer fingers slid in unison under the elastic waistband of my panties nearly ripping them in half in effort to assault the blooming bundle of nerves between my legs. My head dropped backwards and a groan of bliss bellowed from my chest, reacting to the talented tongue roaming my feminine folds.
Don’t scream, Liv.
Colton’s palms squeezed the rear of my thighs, the pads of his thumbs no doubt pushing bruises into me while he stilled my shaking stance, the speed of his mouth furiously increased.  My hands had wound their way into his hair, tugging his boyish haircut occasionally out of enjoyment. His tongue excited my entrance, trailing erratic kisses over my inner thighs, up to the slightly perturbing bones of my hips. I almost protested, wondering why he’d left me without full satisfaction, but his eyes shifted upward seeking me, and a devilishly grin swiped across his face as two strong fingers slid inside me.
He licked over his puffy, swollen lips, searching for leftover tastes of me on them, and watched intensely as the contorted emotion of release danced over me. My skin set ablaze at the building voltage rushing through me.
“That’s what you want, Liv? You like that, huh?” He whimpered encouraging the inevitable explosion coming over me.
Seconds later, gritted teeth muffling my breathy moans, eyes sealed shut, I clenched around his middle, and index finger, granting his reward for the dutiful worked.
“You are… oh my god, definitely something, Colton Ritter.” I said to him shyly, slightly embarrassed about the climax he had just instigated.
“Oh, that’s just round 1, baby. You’re with a fighter now. You  better be buildin’ up that endurance.” The dark charm of his voice that I grew to obsess over tickled my eardrums. He ushered me to lie down, my back resting on the contrasting coolness of the canvas mat beneath me. The man resembling Hercules himself towered over me, shed his jeans, and tilted his head curiously.
“You are a fuckin’ sight for sore eyes, Liv Elliott. You know that? How did I get you to even give me a second look, huh?” I wished for a bag to cover my head at that very moment. No one had ever sang such lavish approvals of me like that, especially not in the matter of appearance, and it had especially never come from a man who had been visual blessed as he had.  That night, center stage for, what felt like, the world to see, Colton Ritter showed me he could do more than inflict pain with his fighting hands.
