also i saw u were doing headcanons and stuff abt the ahit characters and never posted abt van's and prince's relationship as youd make a Huge post about it. well i wanna know.

anon youre putting a great big grin on my face im flattered and grateful that youre so interested in my thoughts :)

as i said previously, i like to imagine snatchers relationship with the blizzard mirrors princes relationship with vanessa, placing him into the role of a damage suppressor of sorts, even if to define their relationship as purely that would be pretty flat and reductive.

vanessa and prince are both isolated deeply self destructive and dysfunctional people, although definitely not irredeemable. i also dont enjoy the notion of them being "equally toxic" and mistrust those who do, as despite what reasons vanessa might have for her treatment of them, and even if their behavior escalates it, its still a pretty distinctly abusive power dynamic

i think prince (and later on snatcher) is prone to dehumanizing and emotionally isolating theirselves, using those behaviors to substitute self worth with external approval. it receives a lot of praise from vanessa when indulging in those behaviors, which traps them in an abusive relationship with her. vanessa appears to hold a belief of her own disposability, growing fearful of being forgotten or abandoned and such. prince, commonly masking social ineptitude with rigid personal rules, mightve appeared insincere or uninvolved on select occasions, and once he interprets vanessas concern (probably manifesting as violence of some sort from her) as being criticized or otherwise deemed difficult it translates to the implication of it being not worth to be with, which escalates said self dehumanization and isolation as a way to redeem himself and get the needed affection back, ending with him using himself more as a tool to get closer to vanessa instead of a genuine human connection being made. this lack of meaningful reassurance for an unknown reason leads to vanessas belief of own disposability gaining support which leads to an upwards spike in her antagonization of those surrounding her.

ive called the blizzard her personal apocalypse externalized but im not entirely sure what it represents, in shane frosts comics painter/prince ends up as the one cursed, and moonjumpers motivation was to essentially create a human singularity, so, essentially that, probably?.. but on a less conscious level, and only within the confines of her own kingdom. (although there are some painted signs indicative of her presence in alpine skyline, whatever that's meant to imply.. 0_0)

i hope you enjoyed my take anon! this is all pretty much personal interpretation but thats what makes it fun.

6: which ship fans are the most annoying?:

I honestly don’t care enough about shipping to have any specific takes (ace spectrum swagger) but like if I had to choose I think sn*tchnessa and sn*tchmoon just due to you know Vanessa being his abuser and sn*tchmoon puts a bad taste in my mouth due to bad past experiences is all ((censoring them so they don’t show up in search results) tho there are a few others that just personally bug me but only bc my own hc’s clash w them like when ppl ship characters that I have as siblings or family in my own au when they aren’t canonically so like I said that’s more personal and not on the ppl shipping them/I don’t see it as annoying or nothing like that) oh and obviously pr*ship shit that should go without saying but sadly with a franchise like ahit with the main characters being children and one of those children has a cut adult design people will be freaks :(

9: worst part of canon:

I’ve said this before but it boils down to a few really really small nitpicks 1: conductor should’ve had a better reason to want the time piece bc his motivation doesn't make near as much sense as grooves, 2: they should have kept the cut cutscenes of mu in subcon and the cast talking about Hattie at the end (and made hats diary a prominent thing and not an Easter egg) because all of those help with characterization/showing POVs and also bc mu kinda gets forgotten so having her show up in the middle would help remind players of her being in the plot/collecting TPs, and 3: have an option where mu should have been the one to fix everything at the end not Hattie like a multi choice thing/so she can redeem herself at least a little bit idk it’s a undertale pacifist endingcore thing

10: worst part of fanon:

uhhhhh honestly idk just bc a lot of my issues aren’t even issues/popular things anymore and even then I don’t remember a lot of em, but off the top of my head is mischaracterization of snatcher and hat, the woobification/sexualization of Vanessa, and the over abundance of everyone just copying maks aus back in the day rather than doing more original aus/hcs (tho all these issues I think arent near as prominent nowadays thankfully tho that might be bc I don’t look at fan stuff much anymore/had blocked a lot of ppl that perpetuated these issues I had, the only thing I can think of that is still kinda an issue is other characters being overshadowed but that can’t really be fixed oof) (the last one abt mak is actually I think the reason I made aau back in the day in the first place bc everyone was kinda doing the same thing, tho that wasn’t BAD I just wished there was more variety in hcs or the like etc which did end up happening so yayyyy!! :3)

When and how did you find A Hat in Time? What were your initial thoughts on the game after having played it for the first time??

and actually a twitter mutual got into it and started posting abt it and I thought it looked cute, and dug the character designs (moot was a conductor fan but also posted snatcher)

and p much immediately knew I was gonna like subcon cuz its SO up my alley being halloween spooky, and fr I saw snatcher and thought he looked so goofy I HAD to check out the game.

I dont actually remember my first impressions, I think I watched vinny vinesauce play it first before getting it myself but dont remember, I DO know when I got it on switch I played for like, 4hrs straight at night and forced myself to go to bed once I got to subcon so I could enjoy it properly lmaoo

i do have quite a lot of facts abt them i wanted to share too! lemme see…

- cerise and sketch actually met when they were young (around 13 and 11, respectively), and cerise was really different before he met his future best friend, being more selfish and pompous. sketch definitely changed him for the better and he’s a genuinely good friend now

- rosalind is about 3 years older than sketch, being 27, and sketch doesn’t know of her currently. since she had been without a family ever since she was a pre-teen, she had to do her best to take care of herself and be self-sufficient

- she actually used to go into her werecat form quite a lot as a child, due to having trouble suppressing her emotions like sketch did… the more she grew, though, the more she was able to control when and where she transformed

(more under the cut!)

- sketch has a big affinity for animals! and despite being scared of a lot of things, he’s surprisingly chill with animals deemed scary and dangerous, including giant monsters. cerise has some trouble with bugs, though

- rosa does her best to come off as stoic and cold, not wanting to show any emotions to be all Lone Wolf-like… but she’s really not emotionless, she just kinda bottles all her grief up and claims it’s all fine

- despite her withdrawn behavior, she’s actually polite, just talks short and to the point… however, she has a soft spot for cute things (like the seals), and makes sure to be a lil more approachable towards sad or scared people, as well as kids. she actually relates to mustache girl pretty well

- the kinds of things i think hat kid/bow kid could commission would depend on who is painting the commission? they would go from being pretty generic, focusing on the scenery of the area, then go onto special characters, the more expensive ones being of mu, conductor, grooves, snatcher, and hk or bk themselves

- besides painting, cerise likes the performance arts and dancing, sketch is into reading and baking. sketch also has a pretty good singing voice as well. rosalind says she doesn’t have much time for hobbies besides training herself for fighting… BUT she collects miniature animal figures from time to time

- cerise and sketch like both hat kid and bow kid a lot, and cerise’s energy matches hk’s pretty well, though sketch has a harder time talking with most kids due to being low-energy

- rosa is empathetic to hk’s situation, being someone who is looking for what’s important to her as well, but rosa is actually the only oc of mine who will fight hk for the time piece; she thinks that it may help her find her brother. however, she is VERY hesitant about fighting a small child (unlike certain others), and she holds back a LOT

- cerise’s favorite place to go is subcon forest, sketch’s is alpine skyline. cerise isn’t afraid of most anything in the forest, and genuinely likes snatcher and finds him and the forest unique. sketch loves the calm and open air of alpine skyline, and has a lot of places to climb and jump without many people being around

- cerise stays near the forest mostly, but also wants to check out the cave, and yes, even the manor. he hasn’t gotten to it yet, though, fortunately. snatcher’s minions try to divert his attention from it

- sketch has the patience of a saint and can be around conductor for more than 10 minutes (*cough*crush*cough*), which is amazing to cerise, who absolutely HATES the dude. cerise and sketch both like grooves bc of his friendly personality, cerise wants to punch the hell out of the mafia of cooks + mafia boss due to them picking on defenseless people, and sketch likes talking with cooking cat and wants to start learning baking from them. Fellow Kitty Person

- rosalind, despite working with c.a.w, doesn’t really enjoy being a part of the organization due to their… bizarre methods of staying incognito and gaining information. she doesn’t HATE them by any means, but it gets a little exhausting for her to keep up the “fellow (insert thing here)” charade. at least the other agents seem to like her

- the express owls are afraid of rosa due to perceiving her staring at them through her mask as an Icy Glare (a lot of “has death finally come for us??”)… but really, she just thinks they’re adorable

- sketch was actually recruited to be a part of conductor and grooves’ movies after they heard him sing (because i’m super unoriginal shfsg), but he has a huge problem with stage fright… helps conductor be a little more understanding to his actors, at least
